This thing is awesome I've had three different steamers. This is by far the best. I have had it now for a long time it still works the same and I haven't had to clean it I do use distilled water in it it heats up very fast that you wish they made the hose a little longer maybe a foot

April 20, 2017
I was looking for a professional steamer for my wedding and life. The J-2000 fit the bill perfectly. I have worked with the J-4000 as someone who worked in retail but wanted something a little smaller but by the Jiffy brand as their steamers are amazing. The J-2000 is very easy to fill with distilled water and provides about an hour to an hour and a half of steaming (all depends on the fabric you are steaming, Linen will really absorb the water and even with the j-4000, I was refilling it in about 45 minutes when our linen shipments arrived). Like the J-4000, it is easy to use and works so well. If you have not used a steamer before, take your time. Focus on the hard lines and steam inside and outside of the garment but be careful not to burn yourself. The hose will heat up and if you go inside of a garment you are not allowing the steam the ability to escape. I have not had the sputtering I sometimes had with the J-4000, so no hot water drops on my feet as I steam. The J-2000 heats quickly (with the J-4000 you allow the water to heat and them click it over to steam about a 20 minute process. the J-2000 is just a click on and it was steaming within 10 minutes.) and works beautifully. It has the power of the J-4000 without being as large. Great for around the house and smaller retail establishments. It steamed my veil beautifully and took the hard lines in the silk robes I picked up for my bridal party disappear so quickly. Excellent product, great brand, awesome smaller size. Who needs an iron with this!
A Great Gift

This is my favorite purchase for my house. I use it regularly to remove everyday wrinkles from my clothes. So easy to use and does a good job. Not only do I save a lot on dry cleaning but it extends the life of the fabrics. Buy one for those you love.

A review after 10 years: I have not used the less expensive steamers as much but bought this 10 years ago and it has met my use cases!- it still is working strong with no maintenance- i use this to steam my shirts and pants before I goto work. I have primarily shifted to iron free shirts. I steam under the shirt and all wrinkles are gone.- non iron shirts may not work well so I will still have to iron certain suit shirts for special occasions- my wife has bought in and uses it for a lot of her cotton work sweaters
revolutionary for an iron hater
September 13, 2014
i am so glad i invested in this sturdy piece of equipment. i never liked ironing and pretty much avoided it altogether, but knew my clothes would look better with a little help. this steamer is perfect for my needs - heats quickly, no plastic smell at all, good quantity of steam. as folks have said, there is a learning curve and a lot of the results are in proper technique, which is easy to deduce as one works with it. do take care with the metal coils of the hose near the unit as they get hot. different fabrics respond more or less quickly to the steam...and the look is more natural than a pressing. i do not care for the starched prim look anyway. i have had no problems and look forward to using the unit on my winter wardrobe. easier and more fun than ironing for me.
A time and money saver
June 13, 2013
I wish I could say I really take care of my clothes. More often than not, a skirt or suit that could be worn again before going to the cleaners ends up tossed on the floor. The steamer takes the wrinkles right out, and saves me from another trip to the drycleaner just to get rid of creases.I hate ironing, and this steamer helps me maintain a polished professional appearance. I keep this in my closet and just flick the switch a few minutes before I need to get dressed. Once it's heated up, the steam is continuous- you don't push a button to make the steam come out- and I can finish steaming a full outfit in about 5 minutes. It's a bit harder to use than a steamer with a button that releases steam. You have to have everything ready to go when you turn it on, otherwise you'll just be humidifying your room.

I have been promised this is DUAL VOLTAGE
September 18, 2016
I contacted PurSteam CS to inquire as to dual voltage. They sent the link to this steamer, which I purchased. There is no indication that it is dual voltage and I have serious doubts that it is. It is also a little cumbersome to travel with. It is not a "shot of steam" but continuous steam. Your item needs to be handing to steam. I have several steamers including two commercial floor models so maybe I'm a little spoiled, but I am not impressed. I am an interior designer and event planner and will use this for steaming tablecloths, bed linens and drapes on site. Since it did not do a great job on my clothes, I am not sure how it will fare with those items on a job site. The design is comfortable and it is easy to fill if you have a deep sink, when trying to fill on a job site, I have to take a paper cup.I want to edit my initial review:I have changed from 4 to 5 stars after being contacted by Customer service to confirm that the model is indeed a dual voltage steamer. I have also had the opportunity to use it on several job sites and on many types of fabrics. I was actually impressed by the amount of wrinkles it took out. We used it on velvet, silk, and bedding. It worked quickly and efficiently and there were no water spots. I realize that I just like white cotton shirts to be crisp and pressed and this alone will not give that look, but it did take out the minor wrinkles after the shirt was starched and professionally pressed by the cleaners. I decided to compare it to the Jiffy steamer which is more expensive and feel this worked as well, or better, for less money. In fact, the client liked it so much, I have ordered one for her!
The best, don't burn yourself
July 20, 2016
If you're going to buy a portable steamer, be sure NOT to buy the designs where the head twists on and off to access the water chamber. We had one like that and it would always leak boiling water and burn our hands, and it got looser over time. For slightly more money, this steamer proved to have a far superior design in that water is poured into a small opening in the back (much like a clothes iron) which closes tightly and does not let any water out. It has the largest water capacity of any portable steamer we've owned and provides the most steaming power as well. It's not comparable to a floor steamer by any means, but it will effectively de-wrinkle anything up to the weight of a t-shirt or polo shirt.
Awesome and Affordable Steamer
June 8, 2016
Great purchase, great price! I read reviews and was a little skeptical about buying this as others had said it dies after one use. I have had my steamer for a little over two months now and no problems yet! It gets wrinkles out of everything. Water rarely spits back up, but dries quickly without leaving marks, so no issue there. Would recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable steamer that gets the job done. Light weight, portable, long cord. Steams about 3 or 4 items of clothing.
Long cord which is absolutely fantastic. It does spit a little bit of water
January 16, 2016
I spent hours trying to determine which steamer to buy and went through a lot of steamers available on amazon and read all of the reviews. I do not have previous experience with steamers and was looking for something easier than the conventional iron as I do struggle a little bit to iron my husband t-shirts and it takes me a while. So after a lot of reading I finally decided to get this steamer. I will tell you my impressions of it after using it once to iron 6 t-shirts. So, see below.Long cord which is absolutely fantastic. It does spit a little bit of water, but I think it’s unrealistic not to. Perhaps I’m wrong. Read a lot of reviews about these little things spitting water. I did not find this inconvenient nor bothered me. I think if I were to iron a more delicate fabric I would just keep the steamer a bit away from the fabric and make sure I’m holding it in straight position. You have to keep it in vertical position so you don’t spill water on your garment. From time to time I bend it a little and got water on the t-shirt, I didn’t mind either. It does not give the finish look as the conventional iron (I think no steamer will ever do). Either way, I’m not planning to return to conventional ironing. It’s small and can be stored easily. And it has a nice size for traveling. The steam is manageable; if you get a little steam on your arm it doesn’t hurt you. Obviously, if you are 1 inch away from the steamer, it will definitely hurt you. You have to be careful with this item as with any other item that produces hot temperatures. But in general I found this steamer very safe to use.The container does not leak water. Which I think is a great plus as I read a lot of comments on other steamers leaking water.1 charge of water will last only for 1 t-shirt. I did not encounter any issue to refill; it was easy to open the container of water right away and refill. First you have to turn the steamer off to do this. Turn off, get water, open the container always with caution, refill, close the container, turn on, prepare your next garment and start steaming.Steam takes about 1 minute to start. It does not have instructions manual, but everything is very intuitive. Although I think some instructions would come handy. The result will depend a lot on the quality or composition of the fabric. And same thing happens with the conventional iron. There are some t-shirts that were very difficult for me to iron with the conventional iron and some others that were super easy. I found the same with the steamer, some garments super easy; some others a little bit more work.I think if you need to iron more rigid fabrics, you would need a more powerful steamer or the conventional iron.I love the fact that you can use it to exfoliate your face. It can also works when you are ill, to clear your bronchial passages.I basically use it for my husband’s t-shirts. That’s it. I do recommend this product if you are planning to use it to iron t-shirts and stuff like that. If you are planning to iron more pronounced wrinkles or very thick fabrics you don’t want to buy this product. It's lightweight but at the end of the 6 t-shirts I was just a little bit tired from holding the steamer, but I definitely get more tired with the conventional iron. With the conventional, my lower back hurts for an entire day. With the steamer, my right arm is tired for just a couple of minutes and then it’s gone.I don't know about durability, but it does have a great price. I paid 30. And if it last a year, I will be happy.TIPS: If you stretch your garment while ironing, you get better and faster results. It’s more convenient to hang your garment high from the ground so you don’t have to bend or squat, which I can only imagine to be very uncomfortable.
Good for travel comes in Handy!
November 15, 2015
This is by far the most powerful and effective travel / home steamer I've ever used. It puts out a lot of steam, hard and fast. Heats up in less than 3 minutes, Comfortable to hold. Great value and durable. I love this steamer. I have so many clothes that can not be ironed, plus there is so much extra hassle that goes into ironing clothes. This is easy to use and it heats up pretty quickly. You can do one or two clothing items without needing to refill. I'm impressed. Works great. Best on thinner fabric. heats up fast. I was able to steam two shirts at a time with one fill, but I don't mind cause I'm more of a steam as i wear kinda person. It easy to just refill it. Now I don't even want to bother finding space for a large steamer. If you have tons of room, the bigger one would be nice for the large tank, but for people who live in small spaces, and only need to freshen things up occasionally, this steamer is amazing. I even point it on my face before I do a clay mask and it opens my pores up exactly like the steamer my facialist uses. Haha! Huge bonus! "I recieved this complimentary for my honest and unbiased review."
Great steamer
November 12, 2015
This thing puts out an amazing amount of steam. It is larger than a small travel size steamer and works much better. The long cord and power switch are useful. The only thing I don't especially like is the plug hole because it's a hidden behind a flip-up door on top. That's a really minor gripe though.

Great steamer, I wish the cord was a bit longer. The hanger isn't really high enough, but if it was any higher then the cord wouldn't reach properly. Puts out good steam, large water container -- seems like it should also be easy to run some cleaner through. If you are using a handheld, this will make you so much happier.

Quality but missing muscle
April 30, 2014
I was hoping to replace a Rowenta large steamer after three years of constant use. Since it was discontinued and I went to BB&B to view the similar priced replacement. I was disappointed that it lacked the same quality. The reviews on the Jiffy J-2000 were all favorable so I took the leap of faith. It arrived promptly and in great condition. It was assembled easily and I was impressed with the far superior metal parts and sturdiness of the smaller Jiffy steamer compared to the old Rowenta. The magnetic wrench under the unit blew me away and I was thinking this baby has the old one beat. Maybe due to only 1300 watts it doesn't force as much steam through the plastic head . The Rowenta had a surge that was irritating when it would pause to reload water. I've used nothing but distilled water thinking that's what killed my old steamer, but it lacks the same horsepower. The real positive is there is no pause. A constant flow steamer that is well built. It looks like it will last until I retire from the need for pressed clothes daily, but not as good as the old standard. This is worth the money.
Great steamer!
September 10, 2013
I will admit i haven't owned this product for very long. I purchased it in September of 2013. So far I love the the product. Based on reading the reviews I decided to spend the extra money and get the steamer with the metal head. While I can't say if it produces more steam then the plastic model; I can say I like that the metal head retains the heat making it act more like an iron. This is not a substitute for an iron though if you like the crisp lines that an iron provides then stick with the iron. This is just a quick way to remove wrinkles from my shirts and work pants. I'm sure with practice I could get the creases I want on the pants, but for now i'm fine with just a wrinkle free pant. The metal head is heavy so which may come into factor if you plan on using it for longer periods. I feel as though with the weight and materials used that this is well made.
Nice..but not miraculous
January 27, 2012
I am a bachelor and have avoided ironing for a long time, just picking out business casual, permanent press clothes and getting them hot out of the dryer. Got rid of my 20 year old dryer thinking that things should have probably advanced during that time.Turns out my $1000 steam dryer did a worse job of taking out my clothes wrinkles than my 20 year old one did. I am very disappointed in that. Ugh. I messed up the magic balance. So, after fiddling with the steam dryer to no avail (ugh), I purchased this baby. I really have gotten used to not ironing and don't feel like giving up that time again. Was ready for this steamer to solve all my problems and... it is okay. It is like twice as fast as a steam iron and doesn't really require an ironing board, although the finished clothes don't look as nice. Still not as good as my 20 year old dryer...what a waste. This is nice enough though. Takes slightly longer than I expected to start producing steam (4 mins or so) and doesn't remove 100% of wrinkles without some effort.Your mileage may differ. My goals of easy bachelor iron-less-ness are not the same as everyone else's.

Great quick wrinkle remover. It does take a while for the water well to dry completely.
Love it! But plate falls off!
April 28, 2016
Works really well! This works surprisingly well for an iron substitute. There are some things it can't do in which case the dreaded iron is still needed but overall great. There is a little plate on the steam part which allows you to smooth out the wrinkles as you go. It works very well; however, it falls off ALL THE TIME. Once it falls off you can't put it back on because the steam part is hot (yes, I stupidly tried). I'm not sure if I could glue it on but it is a problem. Hate ironing and this is a great alternative to the iron one side, flip it, iron the other side, flip it-that side got a crease problem I usually experience when ironing.PS. the instructions which came with mine are not the correct instructions for my model-minor inconvenience but worth noting
Excellent little steamer
March 5, 2016
Excellent little steamer. I used it to steam out my wedding dress the day of and continue to use it on work clothes at home and traveling. Heats fast. Gets the wrinkles out. Only cons are that it doesn't hold much water and you don't want to overfill it. For the price and mild/moderate use, it's a good product.
I like it. I mean
February 17, 2016
I like it. I mean, for what it is, it's probably as good as it gets. Takes some work to get the wrinkles out, you can see steam coming out but it just ain't as powerful as you would hope.
Good steamer and great customer service
January 21, 2016
This is a revised/updated review that explains my situation better. The steamer works very well. I wrote a negative review at first because the lint remover attachment came unglued, literally. (The glue that attaches the lint strip to the attachment melted due to the steam heat.) That's too bad...I wasn't expecting a lint remover, but with dogs, it became my favorite thing about the steamer. I LOVED IT! So, I was very disappointed when the lint attachment became unusable...even though I could still use the steamer just fine. As a result of my disappointment, I was contacted by customer service, and...they're fantastic! They are sending me a new unit. I'll upgrade the stars to 5 stars once I've tried the new steamer and if the lint attachment remains intact. If you have cats or dogs, you MUST buy this steamer with this great attachment. It's awesome!
it's a good alternative.
December 3, 2015
This item works, its portable, it heats quickly, and it produces a lot of steam. I didnt give it 5 stars because I had to go over some areas for a while before I got the results I wanted. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I think that for things on which you don't want ironing marks, or for hotels where you don't trust the iron, it's a good alternative.

Pulls A LOT of power!!
October 6, 2017
No fault of design, this item pulls lots of power, be mindful when lots of items are plugged in!Tripped the entire breaker panel once I plugged this in while a DJ was testing equipment (separate circuits)!!!I own a wedding&events business, we do catering, rentals, decor, set up, etc. I bought this as an upgrade to my residential steamers. It lasts longer, that's for sure, over an hour before I had to refill. The hose is short, and not very flexible. The wooden handle is very nice, stays cool to the touch!Still getting used to it. I like it, but not sure it's worth the huge investment except for long term. For occasional use or home use, buy a cheaper steamer. For commercial use, something like this is great.
Not as good as expected
September 29, 2017
It's ok but does not work as well as my wife's previous garment steamer. This one seems to take a lot longer to remove wrinkles.
And I don't feel like risking spending time and effort testing other competitive products
April 4, 2016
Honestly, I don't know what the big fuss is about this product. I have not tried other cleaners, so it's hard for me to compare, but1) it's taking a bit longer to steam a shirt than i expected2) it does not straighten the wrinkles as well as I thought it would (still some wrinkles remain)3) it takes more than a minute to fully steam up4) the steam does not seem strong enough, so that i have to keep steaming the same place many times, and often it just gets wet instead5) you need to buy a glove to hold the shirts, cause you will burn your hand (probably problem with all steamers)Overall, it's still easier and faster than ironing. And I don't feel like risking spending time and effort testing other competitive products, especially because hard for me to tell that they would be any better (reading the reviews, it seems they might be worse), so I am keeping the jiffy's.I just wish they improve on this technology "SIGNIFICANTLY" in the future, and I will be all-over the upgrade. But considering they had this same model for decades, I doubt they will change it.
Metal steam head is too heavy
July 2, 2014
The fabric steamer works well, but the metal steam head was just too heavy to be comfortably held for long periods of time. My hand was tired after steaming a few garments. Originally my family bought the one with the metal steam head since for around $40 we thought it would come with extra head attachments (but the product description is not well written so it actually only comes with the metal head). Going to return it for the steamer with the plastic head!
Needs clamps to hold clothes better
February 22, 2014
The steamer works well, but the rod that you're supposed to hang your clothes from leaves a lot to be desired. If you put your clothes on a hanger and then hang the hanger on the pole it's very difficult to steam the clothes bc they flop all over the place. You have to use your hand to hold the clothes steady and stretched out, and that makes the process very clumsy. I've seen other steamers that have clamps at the top and bottom of the pole to secure the clothes, and I think that would make this one easier to use.
Not a good alternative to ironing clothes. But an overall good product.
February 17, 2014
I was really hoping this would be a good replacement for my iron. It's not. The steamer requires just as much effort as ironing does. You really need to pull on your shirts and pants as you iron them, otherwise, it doesn't remove the wrinkles. It can be a bit of a hassle to be honest, but with a bit of practice, it works well. I still use this steamer instead of my iron.I have used this steamer for other things, such as steaming cleaning my couch cushions, and I think it works very well in that respect.

I prefer the 850watt travel model (black) with the ball MUCH BETTER. It's model # PS-510. The force of steam was greater and it seemed more efficient for my needs. Some may prefer this model, as it has 3 different heads (brush/lint) to choose from and is easier not to burn oneself with it.The company did contact me to get feedback so they are definitely listening to customer concerns for improvement of the product line.

Great little steamer
February 6, 2016
This little steamer works great. The wrinkles just melt away as you run it over your clothes. It's especially good for any embellished items that can't be ironed. It was a good value for the price. The only downside is, the water reservoir doesn't hold much, so you have to refill it if you steam more than two items.

Do not buy.
October 1, 2017
I have had multiple steamers throughout the years and had high hopes for this one. It appeared to be well constructed when it arrived. Actually I ordered this model due to to the long hose that came with it even though it had no hose cover. My biggest complaint is that the steam cycles way to often. You spend alot of time in the middle of a garment waiting for the steam to return and also the penetration is not very impressive. Unpaid extra for the metal head which was a mistake. Too heavy and the wood handle is not very comfortable. I thought I we upgrading from my previous "cheaper" steamer but I wish I had made A different choice then this one so be aware.

Well Made but Isn't Worth the Cost
December 27, 2014
This product was well made but did not perform any better than a hand held steam iron. We have used a regular steam iron on clothes for years and wanted something lighter that works faster but was disappointed in the performance of this product. We returned the steamer for a full refund and went back to the steam iron.
Still need an iron after use
June 14, 2014
Thought this would eliminate or significantly reduce my time ironing after pulling clothes straight from the dryer. Unfortunately, that's not the case. Especially for collars, and creases, you still need an iron. Very disappointed with this purchase.
Handle does get hot, hose gets even hotter. Ouch!
October 27, 2013
I "upgraded" from a cheaper brand of upright steamer with an attached brush that I used for 2 years without harming myself. I wanted to love this Jiffy, but the plastic steam head does get too hot to steam multiple garments. Worse still, the black plastic hose gets hot enough to hurt on bare arms and legs. I changed my directional mode of operation from "top to bottom" of garments to "bottom up" to minimize number of times I have been burned by puffs of steam. Exercise caution to direct steam away from garment openings (like sleeve cuffs) as you can be burned by steam as it escapes if you steam in the direction of the opening. BTW-Handle seems too short for even small hands. A longer hose would be desirable if it were INSULATED. Unit "splurts" minor water drops onto fabrics (and hands). On the positive side: This unit produces steady steam for long periods--w/o the long gurgling pauses for reheating and frequent tank refills of my cheaper unit. It is compact and sturdy and the appearance is utilitarian, but just fine. Two stars make me feel like Ebenezer Scrooge, but for the premium price I expected an excellent experience. Should have packed it up for a return, but dallied too long.

I was really excited to receive this item after doing A LOT of research between similar items. The power cord only fits european outlets, such a bummer, and quite annoying that this is not stated anywhere in the product description. So now I'm left to decide if I want to buy an adaptor or return...disappointed :( I'm giving the item 2 stars because I can't actually rate the product since I haven't been able to use, but I would suggest that the Co. clarifies better on the description.

I don't understand the stellar reviews. My experience has been totally disappointing! I purchased both the travel version and the full size and don't like either save for the pink color. This doesn't steam nearly as well as my much less expensive Conair that I previously used. I had to have the water reservoir replaced because it leaked from under the unit onto the floor. Jiffy did replace it promptly which resolved that issue. However, while steaming clothes, water leaks on to the garments. So aggravating! The steam is not really that strong. Very disappointed. Too late to return, will probably try to sell on Craig's list or donate to Goodwill. Strongly dislike and do not recommend.
Disappointed!

Received an Amazon warehouse used unit today, designated as excellent condition. It definitely wasn't as steam came out about every ten minutes, then would totally peter out to nothing. Have returned it today and am deeply disappointed with the unit. Won't be ordering another one. Incidentally, when it was steaming, it only weakly took out the wrinkles from an Oxford blue shirt, particularly from the wrinkled shirt sleeves. Could have ironed it quicker.
It just doesn't work to remove wrinkles
April 30, 2015
I've used this several times on several types of fabric shirts and pants. The bottom line: It doesn't work. After 20 minutes of using this on a regular cotton dress shirt there is almost NO noticeable difference when compared to the shirt before I started using this steamer on it. It simply doesn't seem to remove or reduce wrinkles of any kind. For a fraction of the price you can by a iron that does a much better job in a fraction of the time. This purchase was a waste of money.
Didn't work for me.

This unit would not take wrinkles out of dress pant legs. I tried it on eight pair and had no luck. It worked better on a hand wash thin silk blouse but only average. I spent at least one and a half hours working with it. I think my steam iron works better. I am sending it back:(

It didn't work as I though it was going to do it. I got it for my little kid clothes and was not powerful enough to do that tiny job

Extremely Deceptive. This Steamer is NOT, I repeat NOT dual voltage. It will only work on 110V so don't buy it if you intend to travel with it. Additionally, it is only 700W not 800W as it states on the box. One final problem is that the attachments tend to fall off during use and can't be put back on until the steamer has cooled down.
Not for use with standard USA electrical

Did not work with standard USA electrical plug ins. Had to return and had been waiting for it.
Don't buy from these guys and don't buy this product
January 30, 2016
Bought this in October for a Christmas present. Two months later, after it was opened and we tried it out, it didn't work well at all. It spit water as it steamed making the clothes very wet and it ran out of water quickly. I would not buy again or recommend to anyone. Unfortunately, now my return window is closed and I'm stuck with a lousy product. Next time I'll buy from a major retailer that will take a return and not some unknown
Not Dual Voltage

Not dual voltage, which was the principal reason for purchasing this model. The unit is 120V compatible only! Completely false advertising.

I had the same issue as other reviewers: The first 10-15 minutes or so the steamer worked fine. After this it started to spit out burning water onto the clothes. Even after leaving it off for 24 hours, it did the same minutes after it was ready for use. Returning the product.
