Five Star Reviews: | 82% Heavy duty jacks April 8, 2017 Huge upgrade from OEM 2015 camper jacks. Says made in China on the box, but man the quality is top notch and heavyduty thick steel. No regrets in the purchase. Well made heavy duty jacks. Was testing them and ... April 6, 2017 Well made heavy duty jacks. Was testing them and put one close to the tire on my 32' camper. Lifted both tires off the ground using my battery drill. Thinking about installing one on each side for leveling or a tire change. Love Them October 21, 2016 These jacks are great, heavier than the ones on our camper. We left the top bracket from our old jacks on the frame and then bolted them in, then we didn't have to worry about lining up the holes or drilling new ones. You do have to crank a lot more times than our others but the drill attachment makes it quick Very Nice and well made April 29, 2013 I was a little bit hesitant to try and take on the task of mounting these to my travel trailer as I have no experience doing so.. It was very easy to do and all necessary hardware was included. The jacks are very sturdy and the motion is extremely fluid. Would recommend to anyone needed replacements or like in my case just needing jacks they can mount to a travel trailer/rv. Heavy Duty Jack December 23, 2012 Good relacement for the damaged one that was on my travel trailer or it comes with all the hardware for a first time install. This is a heavy duty jack and cranks up easily. | 74% Great sturdy little jacks. September 7, 2017 The picture shows a 3/4" socket. Mine came with a speed handle. I didn't need either since I had the speed handle that came with the original set of stabilizing jacks, and I bought a 3/4" socket. I do like the speed handle that came with this package and will use it instead of my original. I have a 18.5 Jayco Swift SLX that sits rather low to the ground. I had been using the screw type jacks that get placed and stowed on each trip. There were many times that I couldn't use those jacks because they were too tall. As I said, my camper sits low. These fold down and are short enough that they fit within the safety zone for clearance. They are also small enough that they don't extend beyond the side of my camper. The foot is big enough that I could probably use it without a piece of wood underneath, but I use the wood just to keep them clean. These are rated at 5000 LBS each. My camper only weighs 2400 LBS dry and 3600 LBS fully loaded, so these are overkill. My camper didn't have mounting holes, but it does have a piece of angle iron where one would install such jacks. Installation was pretty easy. These jacks come with 8 screws (4 for each) which I think is also probably overkill. From what I've read, the screws are just there to keep the jack in place when they're not extended. These jacks were easy to install September 6, 2017 These jacks were easy to install. I used bolts instead of the provided hardware, but that was just personal preference. Two of the holes lined up with the factor holes on the trailer, but two did not and required new holes drilled. c) I don't want to ever deal with a motor that doesn't work when I'm trying to pack up at a campground (I don't see an easy way to bypass the power one August 11, 2017 Exactly as advertised. Arrived quickly. We're replacing a damaged power stabilizer with these. I decided a) these are lighter, b) these provide truly independent support at the corner, c) I don't want to ever deal with a motor that doesn't work when I'm trying to pack up at a campground (I don't see an easy way to bypass the power one, and d) these PLUS a cordless impact drill is less costly than replacing the power stabilizer Read the good reviews on here and decided to buy some June 9, 2017 Our stabilizers were old and rusty and did an OK job. Read the good reviews on here and decided to buy some. We used for 1st time this weekend and what a difference it made on the stabilization of the camper!!! They were fast to set-up and tear down with a cordless drill. Very Impressed. I would recommend to a friend. Great Jacks January 14, 2015 Bought these to replace a leveling jack that got twisted while parking my travel trailer (2014 Forest River V-Cross Vibe (6504)). These (despite what some others state) are much heftier feeling, came with all hardware to mount them (if you need any hardware) and were an exact fit for my trailer. I have attached couple of pictures of one of the OEM jacks next to one of these new jacks. |
Four Star Reviews: | 15% Good replacements July 25, 2016 Picked these up to replace the factory stabilizers on my pop out. I haven't used them on a trip yet, but these crank up with ease compared to a set I have from another mfg. I have to fight with the other set to crank them. I'll be picking up another set of the Husky ones before my next trip. At the moment I have them in place in the driveway. Great Jacks! December 1, 2015 I had bent two of the original jacks on our 30' camper. I considered purchasing less expensive jacks but chose not to based on reviews, and I am glad I didn't. These Jacks are far superior to our original jacks. I was concerned that they may have a different size screw bolt, but it turned out to be the exact same size - I'm guessing that it must be a "standard" (I think it is a 3/4" socket). Only issue I had was that the new attachment metal screws were much larger than my existing attachment screws, so I had to drill out a couple of holes in the frame - worked out well, but it was a little difficult. Shipping was timely and efficient. well built with one issue on one jack September 27, 2015 Great set of jacks and seem really superior to the ones the factory put on. They bolted on no problem, feel much heavier, and seemingly built very well. I only have one issue and that is on one of the jacks, the main threaded bar that goes through the jack that actually raises and lowers it is warped. So when I am spinning it, especially with a drill, it's pretty wobbly. It still raises and lowers and seems to hold but I bought new and expected new.... But not returning because it's already bolted on my RV and didn't want to have to remove and send back. Other than that, great product Take the weight off your boat trailer tires and axles. June 1, 2013 Some boat trailer tires seem to get a flat spot while sitting for long periods of time. Taking the weight of the tires and also the axle has to help reduce the flat spots and wear on the axle spring. I use this pair unattached to my aluminum float on trailer trailer when stored at my home. Once the trailer is free from car and inplcae, I lower the trailer front as far as possible. This raises the rear of the trailer. Then I place the jacks under the raised rear main supports and open them until it takes weight off tires. Raising the front of the trailer using the trailer jack finishes the set up. These are large jacks. They are well made and great for stabilizing a trailer at rest. They are NOT to be used for raising large weights. Best to use a lifting jack for that. I gave them 4 stars because they cannot be used to lift heavy loads. But they do what they are designed to do. Also the speed lug that comes with them is a good extra and comes in very handy while sitting up and taking them down. I am very content with the product and vouch for their value. nice product March 21, 2013 the Jacks are good quality and arrived in good condition but do not use the self tapping mounting bolt they are a cheap grade and break off easily , alternative is to drill and bolt or weld , I chose to weld | 15% Can also lift for specialty purposes September 4, 2017 Husband posting: Yes, this jack can lift a lot of weight when used outside of its purpose. The attached photo has a lot of safety issues and I recommend NOT doing this, but as you can see the jack has lifted 500 to 1000 lbs of storm damaged 28-inch diameter oak off the ground which was then supported by two 2-ton car supports. The long branch is 9-inch diameter and about 30 feet long. A 19.2 volt cordless drill with 3/4 socket didn't have enough torque to lift it but the 9-inch manual wrench worked fine to raise and lower it. Not easy, but not terribly difficult using the manual wrench. Note the 3/4 inch treated plywood bolted on to the top to make a lifting platform. I used the included lag bolts but added extra washers as spacers so the end of the bolt didn't poke out. This mini platform seemed plenty strong. Why not do what I did in this picture? The log can shift off the supports onto you. The log can roll downhill taking you with it. The log can crush various body parts if it finds a way to fall. The log can throw heavy iron at you if it gets the right leverage. Extremely dangerous and not recommended. However I did do it, and ended up lowering it and working from the small end of the log first. Functions but did not fit my bolt pattern August 28, 2017 Functions but did not fit my bolt pattern. I have a 2005 Jayco J flight. I was replacing the front scissor jack. Only two of the four bolts lined up. So I bolted on the two and drilled two more holes to fit . The supplied anchor screws were too wide for my current anchoring crossbeam so I had to buy new hardware. Other than that the Jack looks great and functions perfect! Exact replacement May 10, 2017 Bent an original one on the travel trailer. These were an exact fit and easy to install. May be a hair stronger than the OEM ones. Work well at getting the job done. November 16, 2015 The Camco easy jacks are a life saver when compared to my Olympian style screw jacks. All hardware included was top notch and missing no pieces. My only complaint is how flimsy the included crank-handle is and use a socket wrench when lowering the jack. Once the Jack touches the ground, the crank begins to twist and feels like it will snap in my hands. Using something stiffer will allow you to get that extra turn or two to properly seat the jack. Other than that, this product is a back saver! Everything was great easy installation great product September 10, 2015 Everything was great easy installation great product. I would of given it a 5 star but 3rd time using them I went to lift the one up but it wouldn't lift up. Bungy corded it up to come home. Looked at it when I got home and saw that there's a roll pin that had broke abs that's why It couldn't lift up. Was an easy fix now I know what to look for of the other one doesn't lift. Have more roll pins with me now. But all in all great product would purchase these again if needed. And very easy to use. |
Three Star Reviews: | 1% It is the speed handle that is the problem. ... May 7, 2016 It is the speed handle that is the problem. Short of a cordless drill it is the right tool for the job. The problem that I had was the pin that holds the socket end is not peened into position. It comes apart during use. To fix this problem the pin should be lengthened to extend past the socket OD and then peened in place on both sides. A split pin or a roll pin will also work but not as well. This is classic case of excess; either, too little concern for quality or too much concern for cost reduction. Three Stars March 17, 2016 Gave it a Meh rating but mostly my fault, was looking for a jack for the truck. Three Stars July 30, 2015 was not as advertised mounting plate is not as pictured also is not american made is china junk! Three Stars November 17, 2014 They work, but are flimsy. Use only to level your camper/trailer. Not for frequent usage I would recommend Is good, but... September 13, 2014 This item does work well. I gave it 3 stars because the top plate on ad shows it as solid with mounting holes. It is winged like the others. The holes did not lign up on my rv so only 2 bolts holding it in place. However, it is stout and travels easily. I would probably buy a set for the front if I need some & it is same price with free shipping. | 4% Needs a thrust bearing October 11, 2016 These jacks seem to be heavy duty enough except there is no thrust bearing on the crank side of the screw mechanism. This makes it difficult to put any substantial weight onto the jack because of the increase friction of the metal pieces grinding against each other. Critical Missing Part June 8, 2016 The jack would be fine, but it shipped without a critical plastic washer that prevents metal on metal friction when raising/lowering the jack. I've tried to make one myself, but they keep tearing out. Anyone know how to take this thing apart or to secure the necessary part? I've got it installed in a permanent application and I don't want to take the whole think apart to return the jack for a simple plastic washer. I ordered two sets to replace my old ones on ... April 13, 2016 I ordered two sets to replace my old ones on my Travel Trailer. When I put the new ones on the Pin located at the head of the jack was sheared off. I was an hour away from home and replacing them all. I would have given these a higher rating but the fact that two pins were sheared off from the get go. I have fixed them myself. Easy to install easy to break November 3, 2015 These were simple to install took about 5 minutes each. They go up and down really smooth. Unfortunately the first time I used it a pin broke off and the jack wouldn't go back up so I had to use electrical tape to drive home. The return was easy and I have a new one to install but I was disappointed at it didn't even last one camping trip before it brok. Everything looked good, went on easy August 2, 2015 Everything looked good, went on easy, worked smooth the first time, the second time a small pin broke off one of the jack and it don't work. I put them on a camper, total weight 3200 lbs. the camper came with 2 already Got them in April, now waiting on a answer if Amazon is going to replace it. Not sure how to rate it but 1 star fits a broken jack. Will let you know if Amazon stands behind what they sale.. Just read a email stating they will replace it so I am raising my rating up to 3. |
Two Star Reviews: | 1% If you don't use them a lot they would be ok. September 22, 2017 Less then 6 months and I had to replace them because they would NOT spin up!! Crank handle broke October 6, 2016 The jacks themselves have been pretty good so far, but the crank handle already broke. Disappointing. Photo of item is different from item received. July 21, 2014 Photo of item is different from item received. I purchased item based on photo, and how the bolt hole plate was represented. I needed to purchase item similar to jacks that were already bolted to my rv (the ones I had were old and rusting out, and one of the jacks needed immediate replacement). Rather than sending them back, and wasting time and money on the process (I had a camping trip planned a week after they arrived), I ended up having to drill new bolt holes into the rv frame in different places where my original jacks were placed. It was lot more work than I anticipated, but I suppose the jacks work. I would NOT recommend this item based on its misrepresentation, however the item does work well, and it is inexpensive. | 2% looked like a good product August 30, 2016 looked like a good product. pin broke on bolt first time i used it . mounted on a small camper.would not buy again. only levels if it works February 28, 2016 Crush pin securing jacking screw fell out during transporting. The jack was able to lower self and drag. Fortunately nothing severely damaged. minor twisted jack and had to remove for duration of trip. will get new crush pin and try again. package arrived on time and jack is substantially stout. Looked good and sturdy December 14, 2015 Looked good and sturdy, and had plenty of holes for bolting onto the trailer frame... unfortunately our trailer frame did not have holes drilled and this would have required drilling holes in the frame, or having these welded to the frame. For a bigger camper that might be necessary, but ours is a single axle... blocks it is for leveling. Does not work for a Motorhome... October 11, 2015 Bought to use with my Motorhome as leveling system stopped working. I used a bottle jack to raise front right side and placed the jack under it and raised the jack to engage the foot pad. It was about 1/4 raised, but when I let the bottle jack down the weight literally stripped the jack back to the flat position. So in hindsight these are not to be used on a Motorhome. |
One Star Reviews: | 1% Failed after 1 year of use November 13, 2017 I initially liked these jacks, but I have to say they don't hold up well after about a year of use. The frames are heavy duty, but the screw mechanism is not. First of all, they are no longer American made. Second of all, the screws on both of them stretched and jammed (during different trips) while I was using them, which broke the roll pins securing them to the nuts, and they got stuck down. I had to use a pair of vise grips to crank them back up. I was using them nowhere near their advertised capacity, with the included wrench. The old lighter duty jacks on my trailer, which I replaced these with, never had that problem. I'm going to try to rebuild the screws using Acme thread rod, but if that fails I'm going to be replacing them with a different brand. These are worth about $5 dollars each. Don't waste your money! November 28, 2014 Seriously, why would anyone buy these when you can go to a wrecking yard and buy them for a few dollars each. They come with every car and every wrecked car has one in the trunk. | 5% Terrible quality and terrible product May 15, 2017 I've now been stuck with 2 different defective sets of these jacks. They work for about 2-3 trips, then will get stuck in the down position leaving you hoping you have the tools to take them off so that you can get home. Terrible quality and terrible product. Only reason I went through 2 sets its because Amazon warrantied the first set. Gearing teeth failed November 16, 2016 Looked well built but failed at the gearing mechanism. I used the set to replace one of my old leveling jacks that went out. One bent where the teeth merge together so I used the second one and it failed in the same area as well. If you look closely the teeth themselves are not one piece of metal but two sets of teeth side by side. Something to look at if you are able to go to your local camping store or outlet to inspect if you are considering purchasing a set from anyone , not just this set. My total camper weight is only 7700 lbs so a 7500 lb rating should not have bent, in my opinion considering the majority of the weight is on the axles. The second one failed and I put it on the back burner and now that camping season is tapering off, I contacted Amazon and the manufacturer and I am just outside of the year warranty. My fault of course for not proactively contacting them sooner. Regardless not pleased that such a heavy rated product failed. I am looking elsewhere for a replacement. Do not buy this, read all of the reviews first. July 4, 2016 So out of the 30 day return policy. The pin which allows the Jack to retract broke. And I had no pin to replace it. I was stuck with one Jack down and no way to get it retracted. Don't buy this. Disappointed in quality October 11, 2015 Disappointed in quality, broke after only a few uses. Friends bought the same ones and they had the same issues we had arrived fine, installed fine October 5, 2015 arrived fine, installed fine.. broke first time i rolled it up. pin that holds the washer that keeps all thread rod from backing out sheard off with little effort. good, well made product. with cheap quality tiny part that negates the good.. |
