Five Star Reviews: | 67% Works great and just what my daughter wanted. May 1, 2017 Works just fine and is just what my daughter wanted. My wife is the pizzelle queen and she likes it, but not enough to give up using her Mom's old iron. But then she is 100 percent I-Talian, so Momma's iron will be used until it gives up the ghost. PS, it you put vanilla ice cream between 2 pizzelles, you gonna like it. Wonderful Machine! January 29, 2017 I couldn't believe how easy pizzelle's are to make! I wish I got this years ago! My Mom had one and this brought back such warm memories. It was nice seeing my own children and grandchildren enjoying them as I did when I was growing up.I love how compact and easy to store it is, also. #1 pizzelle maker December 4, 2016 There is no timer but the light switches from red to green when done and setting #3 is a perfect pizzelle color... Best iron ever!!! Great buy and at a great price on Amazon May 23, 2015 My husband makes all the pizzelles in our house. The cookies turn out exactly as we hope they will. We also buy the flavorings on Amazon so we can get whatever flavor we are in the mood for. He loves that it is so easy to just plug in and add batter and cook. The machine tells you when the pizzelles are done so you don't have to guess. Childhood Memories Reborn! December 22, 2014 Got this for my dad for Christmas. After my parents got divorced my mom took my great grandmother's antique pizzelle press with her. After years of not owning a pizzelle press I thought it was time to start tradition again by getting a new pizzelle press. It's not the antique press like my great grandmother had but it definitely does the job. It is certainly more convenient considering the antique press can get quite messy when you try to flip it. Very excited to buy this new pizzelle press! After all, they are one of my favorite cookies. It sure brings back good childhood memories. It makes me proud to keep the tradition going again. Buy yourself a Cuisinart pizzelle press today! Such a fun treat! July 25, 2013 Follow a super Simple recipe with basic ingredients, and have delectable crispy waffle cookies in a few minutes. They are soft when they first come off the iron, but crisp up as they cool. Roll them while soft into small cones and they make perfect size ice cream cones for kids. Roll them into small tubes and fill them with whipped cream for a light cannoli. Beautiful lace pattern makes this simple cookie look impressive. They store well in airtight containers, and make great gifts. | 80% Stroopwaffel for Everyone! October 4, 2017 We love this pizzelle iron. Simple operation: plug in, prepare batter, drop of water on cookie plates should dance when ready, drop batter, close, latch and wait until done (steaming will stop, lid raises easily). Some reviewers mentioned sticking or spraying concerns. A HOT iron (griddle) does not need spray. Perfect cookies for stroopwaffel. Also? An after school favorite is pizzelle with almond butter and home raised honey. Yumm. Great Little Pizzelle Maker! June 6, 2017 This little gem works great! You just have to learn the exact amt of batter and your preference in doneness between 40 and 50 sec. used my phone as timer. The polished surface works great for nonstick. I only sprayed it the first time. I used America's Test Kitchen recipe. Nice, crispy pizzelles. Easy to use. I love pizzelles with a hot cup of tea on a ... January 5, 2017 I love pizzelles with a hot cup of tea on a snowy day! Store pizelles were too thick and sometimes hard to find. So on my "Santa" list I asked for my own baker. Santa did well. This is a great baker and making pizelles is a breeze! Followed the recipes that came with the baker...easy and perfect! This pizelle baker worked as promised. Heats up fast, stays hot, makes beautiful pizelles and fun to use. Recommend this baker very highly....no more store bought pizelles for me! Great pizzelle iron with a small discount June 22, 2016 I'm glad this product arrived despite having delivery issues with FedEx. I was so excited using this iron. So I used a recipe from.th he internet, and baked a half batch of pizzelle. It takes getting used to on how much batter you have to put to make the cookies. It took me less than 7 minutes to preheat this device. It's real quick to cook some pizelles like 25 to 30 seconds to be a light beige color. Fill slightly upward off center of batter onto 2 flower shaped irons. This iron is easy to clean and raise the door to cool the plates and turn off the machine and unplug it.Great product with value because it was slightly used. I am in love with this pizzelle iron April 14, 2016 I am in love with this pizzelle iron! I've already used it 3 times, and I've only had it a few weeks!I've been making cookies with almond flour and minimal sweeteners, and the texture carries them completely. My next project will be to try making savory crackers... Just love this machine November 1, 2015 Just love this machine....it's all trial & error for timing with the cookie doneness along with how much batter to use. One does need to oil the spoon or cookie scooper if using the recipes in the booklet. I've tried those along with another recipe from the web using oil vs. butter....batter is much better & gives a crispier cookie than the butter ones do.Easy to remove the cookies for being a non stick surface. Only sprayed oil once before using it.Would highly recommend this budget baker, can't wait to do more of them. |
Four Star Reviews: | 16% yummm December 31, 2016 I have made 2 batches of these cookies. I like it very much, The recipe could have been written a bit better for organization. But I figured it out. Also it states that I would get over 30 cookies. I only get about 14 at a time. not for use overseas/outside the USA January 24, 2016 One of the questions customers had asked was if this thing was dual voltage/universal voltage, and the answer I read was yes. So I bought it based upon that piece of info. It's not. It's 120 V, so you will need a transformer to use it if you go international anywhere. That kind of sucks as I specifically bought this to avoid having to do that.Edit: I just went to check the product site and info and it clearly says it's 120 V, so maybe what I read has been deleted or I ordered the wrong item, but that's my bad, not their fault, so I've amended my review. Bad design. Second December 9, 2015 Just two things. The design of the lock is lacking. I'm not sure how anyone could think that repeated pressure put on a solid piece of plastic could possibly last. Bad design. Second, the cord is so ridiculously short I had to get an extension cord to plug it in. Most people I know make these cookies at the kitchen/dinning room table, not the counter. The cord needs to be at least twice as long. Other than those two problems, it worked well, browned evenly and was very easy to clean. This is a nice pizzelle press March 10, 2015 This is a nice pizzelle press. The non-stick plates work well, except when making pizzelles containing chocolate (not cocoa powder, but chopped chocolate). My only complaint is that the slide button that regulates temperature is pretty wiggly/loose making it difficult to know what the actual setting is. This did not prevent me from making lots and lots of delicious, gluten-free pizzelles at Christmas! Nice Pizzelle Maker! A Little Harder to Use, but Just Need to Practice! Nice Item,Happy with Purchase! October 8, 2013 Nice Machine that is a good product. I bought this for Christmas and let my niece and daughter use it for great cookies. A little more difficult then you would think, it is hard to get the perfect amount of batter in and get the finished pizelle off w/out it sticking. I love all specialty gadgets though and this was a fun one. It makes great pizelle s after a bit of practice and can be used to make cannolies which are delicious. Easy to operate! Overall, pleased with machine December 16, 2010 I am happy with this machine, it cooks evenly and quickly. The cookies slide right off and there was really not much to clean from the plates once i was done. It was just a quick wipe down with a damp paper towel. The only complaint I do have, and it is a minor complaint, is that I went through a whole batch of dough and never could get the exact spoon size needed to make a full cookie. Also, a lot of the cookies came out off center. I gave up using the spoon that came with the machine, because the cookies were coming out too small. I used a cookie scoop I already had, and it seemed to get better, but there were still quite a few off-center, too small cookies. This is no big deal when making them for family, but I want to make and give pizzelles as gifts at the holidays, so I need to figure out the magic combination to make them the right size and centered correctly.Overall, I would most certainly buy this machine again, or recommend it to others. | 12% Four Stars August 8, 2017 Who doesn't love pizzelles. Good little Iron here. Nothing fancy, but definitely functional. Works great Excellent. You really don't need the non-stick May 5, 2017 Excellent. You really don't need the non-stick. One spritz of oil and it works for the whole recipe. I made ice cream tacos with the cookies. Excellent. Finally bought a new one December 23, 2016 Saw this item on Arthur Ave. in the Bronx. They were out of stock. Checked on Amazon and found the item so I ordered it. Although the pizzelles are about 1/4 of an inch smaller, the unit works much better than our old Vittantonio. The old girl slowed down with age. I would recommend this to all who are seeking a replacement for their old unit. great pizzelle iron December 22, 2015 great pizzelle iron. Needs no spray - pizzelles are made with butter in the batter so they don't stick. I have had no issues and have made hundreds so far. I wish it had a beep when the cookie is done (similar to a waffle iron) as its hit or miss with me getting it just right. Also, I have yet to master the perfect pizzelle. Generally I get a little to much batter or not enough. I will eventually get it. They may not be the prettiest but they are delicious. Nice machine and it truly is non-stick September 29, 2015 Very nice pizzelle maker. I searched all over locally and couldn't find a store that sold one of these machines. I use it to make a quick substitute cannoli shell when I don't have time to roll and fry dough. the quality is good and the cookies turn out fairly nice March 12, 2015 My grandmother used to make pizzelle's at Christmas time, colored green and red. I've had a few nostalgic moments making them for my family. For the price, the quality is good and the cookies turn out fairly nice. I remember my grandmothers design was different and somehow the cookies had a bit more depth, but these still turn out good. One recommendation - don't use gluten-free flour! The cookies fall apart in here with that. |
Three Star Reviews: | 6% I like it and easy to use October 26, 2015 I like it and easy to use. I wish it wasn't teflon because that is cancer causing. Didn't realize until i bought it so I'll keep for now but will look for a stainless steel for the future. Not as good design as other brands July 31, 2015 Not as good design as other brands. Handles are too short resulting increased possibility of burns when opening and closing. The hinge allows the top to squeeze the batter toward front. Other brands have a hinge that allows the top griddle to come straight down. Pizzelle July 22, 2015 Works very well. I wish the pizzelles were larger but what I got was all I could find. Almost impossible to make them come out perfectly but that means we can eat the part that we don't need. Glad I purchased it. Pizzelles are always a great hit with the kids. Great product March 23, 2015 It's a great little press. Easy to use. Easy to clean. Pizzelles are done in no time. I have used many different flavors: Orange extract and a little zest, the same with lemon, almond, vanilla, maple, and the next time I'll try a bit of Frangelico liqueur. A different press October 18, 2014 This Pizzel maker was not as good as my old one. It doesn't press them as thin as I would like them. It only makes small ones. However, everyone liked them! Maybe as I get used to it, I'll like it better. | 3% Use lots of cooking spray before attempting to bake! September 9, 2017 It does it’s job, but only after you spray a whole load of cooking spray! Yes, it is NOT nonstick. I made of a mistake of spraying just enough, & I was freakin’ out when I was trying to take the “bratseli” cookies off! So for the rest, I sprayed the discs intensely before I attempted to bake up these cookies. They were peeling off much more easier.. However, it gets so darn messy. The clean up is gross, and the oil dripping off those plates unto my counter made the bottom of the machine dirty too. I didn’t bother with the lock- to me it was useless. I had to use a mitten to press the top a bit to flatten out the dough even more.. I suggest you flatten the dough, roll it thinly, and cut into circles before placing them on the machine to bake.. When removing, use the long side of the fork to gently lift the whole piece up instead of trying to remove it the normal way with a fork.. The other way is much easier.. Will still use, but... It sticks bad. July 7, 2017 I loved this when i got it. And i will continue to use it. But it sticks really bad. It says you only have to spray it at the beginning of first use each time. No. Every time you make a pizzelle you HAVE to spray it. It does get frustrating. Ok, but need to keep an eye on temp. April 14, 2017 Finally made some pizzelles. The heat gets hotter the more you make. I started out at 50 second per 2 cookies, I made about 30 and half way through it would start to turn the cookies brown after 50 seconds. Temperature Control Issue November 12, 2015 Easy operation. Temperature control not adjustable and varies between when the heater comes on and off. Some Pizzelles are very brown and some are light to golden with a cook time of 50 seconds. Just takes a lot of observation. Overall makes delicious cookies. Does not work as well as my original pizzelle baker ... December 13, 2014 Does not work as well as my original pizzelle baker. Bake time varies. Sometimes 40-45 seconds, and sometimes 1 minute plus. Sometimes baked too much, and sometimes not enough. |
Two Star Reviews: | 3% It does not make thin pizzelles and you can only ... August 7, 2017 It does not make thin pizzelles and you can only use there reciepe so not what I was looking for. I will continue to work wit it to see if I can achieve what I want alice Decent Pizzelle Maker with Minor Flaws January 7, 2017 The pizzelle maker is visually appealing and doesn't take up much space. It does have a few flaws including occasional errors with the indicator light and a tendency to overheat after extended use. It will certainly do for occasional holiday use but I wouldn't be good for weekly or daily use. not worth the money August 25, 2015 Does not make good pizzelles. Think groves are to shallow to cook the thick pizzell dough properly. after a year it started to heat unevenly, green light stayed on, so pizelles either undercooked and stuck to the top or burned August 4, 2015 Worked good for the first year..... Ignore Recommended Cook Instructions and It's Okay May 9, 2015 The plates are smaller than I thought, which is okay, but the heating button doesn't work as described. For a pizzelle it suggests it being in the middle, but that burns the pizzelles. I have to time and can't leave them in more than 30 seconds (following the included recipe), so I also cannot use the light because it does not light up correctly to not burn the pizzelles. It works well enough if you have a second timer and ignore the instructions to use the recommended settings. Not as it seems.... August 21, 2009 Please be careful when you order this. It is not as it seems. It makes SMALL pizzelle's not the two large that you would expect. It is VERY poorly made, and I do not expect this one to last. I purchased this to replace my old one that was my mothers. It was 25 years old and finnaly gave out, after millions of cookies were made. This one barely closes. If I did not need it for this week, I would have returned it. I should learn, you get what you pay for. | 2% very disappointed with product September 16, 2017 this machine burns the pizzlelles...cooks too fast and leaves pizzelles cookies floppy not crispy...very disappointed with product... Not Happy November 4, 2016 Maybe mine doesn't work right? Back of cookie very brown and front not done. Do not like this latch. poor quality control and hard to clean December 29, 2014 I received this pizzelle maker with the top screw missing in the handle. The handle still worked. As it was right before Christmas and I wanted to make pizzelles, I kept it. Anyway, it makes OK pizzelles but finally the handle broke off and I am going to try to repair it. I didn't get the teflon coated one but now I wish I did as well as the metal plates get dirty with burnt batter and are hard to clean. Cucina Pro not so "Pro" December 16, 2014 This pizzelle iron is not very good. It heats hot and cold. Some cookies take 25 seconds, the next will take 60 seconds. Also the handle is too short. Once you close the iron, you'd better move your hand or you will get a steam burn! one day I made 50 dozen and it started to stick. I retuned it October 17, 2014 This works well, one day I made 50 dozen and by the late 40, the iron was sticking. The second batch turned out worse.. I returned it cccause I can only handle so much grief at one time. Disappointing September 28, 2013 The cord on my old pizzelle maker burned out....very sad. I had it for 48 years and it was heavy, made well and very dependable. The pizzelles were crisp, thin and delicious. After much research I ordered the Cucina Pro. The recipe that came with it was the same recipe that came with my old maker and I was very hopeful. The Cucina Pro does not heat uniformly. The closure is difficult to use, and the pizzelles come out much thicker and less crisp. The pizzelles did release very well however. It is very light weight. A disappointing purchase, I would not recommend the Cucina Pro. |
One Star Reviews: | 8% Received no instructions or Recipes! December 16, 2016 I have not used as I did not receive any instructions, or recipes with the unit. Very poor quality product July 12, 2016 We used it three times only and it totaly broke down. Very poor quality product. Don't buy it. Just wasting your money. Not What I Expected August 9, 2013 I followed the instructions to a tee and the Pizzelle stuck to the press 50% of the time. So out of one recipe, half weren't usable. I sent it back to Amazon. Poor quality June 14, 2013 The first time I used oit it was great. The second time the handle had a major crack. It still works but I would expect it to last longer without a defect. | 3% Very Unhappy with this product September 16, 2017 I have used thus product 3x since receiving it. Each time it got worse and worse. Overheats, cooks unevenly. I would like a refund, or at the very least a new maker as perhaps just this one is defective. Please contact me at Phillyliv@aol.com. Thanks.Olivia Corrado Appears great.. March 17, 2016 Appears great...but making Pizzelle's three different times...following exact recipe/directions...each time they had a metallic taste and had to throw them out...didn't even trust tossing them to the birds...very disappointed... Not Fun February 2, 2014 Nothing like my first Baker Villa Ware. Never had to spray that once. This one needs LOTS of spray that turns to brown dripping all over. Throw first 2 batches OUT. NOT FUN. Sandra Roland Died Prematurely! November 19, 2013 I purchased this a year ago. It has been used 3 times. I brought it out today for it's 4th outing and it seemed to be working at less than half power. What normally would take 1 hour and produce almost perfect Pizzelles took 3 hours and produced only half done versions. My last Pizzelle Iron lasted over 40 years. This didn't make 12 months. This was my first purchase of CucinaPro product. It will also be my last. I'm moving to Cuisinart. Miserable latching mechanism June 24, 2011 I returned my CucinaPro 220-05P pizzelle baker the day following its delivery to me. The miserable latching mechanism stopped me in my tracks before I even made anything in it. I had such trouble pulling the wire latch over the bottom handle that my fingers hurt. Pulling the wire latch back out of the groove under the bottom handle was even more daunting. I can't imagine how much more difficult it would be with the addition of batter. As I wrote to Amazon during the return procedure, "Sometimes the only way to know if a product is really well made is to see one "in person." The Cucina Pro 220-05P might have worked fine, but if latching and unlatching it is torture to the hands and fingers, it just isn't worth the effort and pain. A minor rounding of the end of the bottom handle or 1/8 inch extra clearance on both sides of the wire latch would have solved the problem. ........."If you have strong fingers perhaps this is not a problem. There are, however, various latching designs on other pizzelle makers that are more humane to the rest of us.By the way, Amazon's return procedure was really easy to follow. I give that a 5 star rating.Kitchen Alchemist |
