I feel like a short order cook, now!
October 24, 2016
We bought this to use in our camper. It fits perfectly over the two rear low-speed burners of our Atwood 3-burner standard RV stove/oven unit. Heats very evenly and is exceptionally heavy and durable. We've only cooked eggs and breakfast sausages on it so far, but nothing stuck. We can't wait to try grilling veggies, steaks, chops and chicken on it. We like it so much we're ordering another one for the kitchen and BBQ. If you treat this well and don't crank the heat way up because you're too impatient, it should last a lifetime. One small tip to pass along: when you season the grill side for the first time, use some sort of non-shredding napkin/paper towel, or a basting brush. Otherwise, cheap paper napkins will leave bits of themselves all over the ridges as you apply the oil. Lastly, this is made in the USA, and is not some cheap import from China that may contain questionably safe materials.
Buy this quality cast iron griddle today and your heirs will be fighting over who gets it after you are maggot food or dust!
November 23, 2015
I wanted a nice heavy cast iron pancake griddle and this fits the bill to a T! The griddle arrived preseasoned so there is a lot of work done for you. Of course anyone who knows cast iron cooking also knows that cast iron does not achieve its best cooking potential until the cast iron carbonizes to a "black" petina that is impossible to remove. There is something about that jet black petina that just elevates a cast iron pan to greatness.Cast iron is a great cooking solution because it heats slowly and evenly. Cast iron pots, pans and griddles last effectively forever. I have cast iron cookware I had for over 35 years and it cooks better now than when I first puchased it in 1980. My grandmother had cast iron cookware just like this that twenty years old when I was a baby. My grandmothers cast iron cookware is now over 70 years old. My great grandmother had a cast iron griddle much like this one and she made pancakes for us on it. Her cast iron griddle is 95 years old and still cooks like a champ. With even the most modest care a quality cast iron griddle can easily last 100 years. Trust me buy this cast iron griddle today and your heirs will be fighting over who gets it after you are maggot food or dust!
Fantastic!

Works as advertised. I'm using it in my large Big Green Egg to make pizza mostly. Tonight we used it to fry/grill breaded chicken for chicken parmesan. Fantastic!
Dozens complimnets for my Camping Grill/Griddle combo!!!
June 5, 2015
Wow did my camping experience just get way better!! First these griddles are awesome. While some reviewers complained about the weight I love it. Weight is a sign of reliability, and if it stops working you can always hit someone with it... hehehehehehe stay away from my camp food... Seriously these are heavy.I bought them in conjunction with the Texsport 36x18 folding grill(See Below). They perfectly covered half of this huge grill. I was able to cook everything from eggs & bacon to steak & chicken, while at the same time making coffee and boiling water. At one point I had two foil wraps of onions and peppers, while cooking 18 full size sausages and still had room to boil water for some early corn...The griddles worked great, on both sides, even the pancakes came out great. I was so pleased with the griddles that one of the two I bought is now covering half the burners on my gas stove... I will update with a shortly!!Update: Used again this weekend and couldn't be happier!!http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000P9D062?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
The best of the best for fisherman

The best for making blackend fish on the grill! Absolutely fantastic product! Easy to clean, big, fits on a standard grill perfectly, and made of quality metal! Buy this if you fish and you will not be disappointed!
Great griddle.

I've got lots of cast iron, but this is my new favorite. Here are a few tips for other users. The griddle is perfectly flat and well-made, but it tips from corner to corner on my burners. It's an issue with the design of my burner grates, not the grill. If you have this problem, just fold up a little piece of foil and stick it under one of the edges that tips. Problem solved.People often complain about foods spilling off a griddle. If that's happening, then you should cook that type of food in a skillet. Skillets and griddles each have their own purpose, The low profile edges on a griddle are suited to foods that stay put but take up a lot of surface area, like eggs, pancakes, steaks, vegetables. They made the low edge so it will be easy to get a spatula under those foods. Foods that produce lots of grease should not be cooked on a griddle, unless it's just a couple of strips of bacon. If you're trying to cook up lots of greasy food, use a skillet. They are designed to hold liquids, hence the tall sides. So, you guys who complain about grease running off your griddle when you cook a pound of bacon, stop complaining and get a skillet to hold liquids.Yes, the center will be a little cooler than the ends. Don't worry. This is natural. Use it to your advantage. Put slower-cooking things in the center or add food to the center first so it starts cooking before the food on the ends. Just like on a charcoal grill, it can be helpful to have a "cool zone" (actually a not quite as scorching hot zone). Make sure you let it heat up evenly over low heat before turning it up to medium / medium high, this discourages sticking. Also, for you people moving from teflon, never turn or move food in an iron or steel pan until the food has browned. The food does indeed stick, but then releases from the surface on its own when it is browned. Wait for the food to release itself. Be patient. Also, make sure steaks, etc. have no water on them when you put it on the cooking surface. A little oil helps food release, water encourages sticking.Clean it while it's hot before it can cool off, or food remnants will be harder to remove. Scrape it with a metal spatula. Then wipe it with a paper towel dipped in oil. Done. Also, clean up will be easier if you cook liquids and super greasy foods in a skillet, which is easier to wield (and clean in a sink) when hot. Don't want to leave your clean, hot griddle to cool on the stove? Use oven mitts to cary it to the oven. This is a great product. I consider it an essential and helpful sidekick to a 12 inch cast iron skillet. It's ready to go right out of the box. Pancakes came out great and did not stick, even though I used almost no oil on the griddle. Works on the charcoal grill, too for small foods that would fall through the grates. Take it camping as an easy to set up grill. Use it in the oven as a cookie sheet. Great for small pizzas with crispy crust.

Favorite grill accessory.

How does anyone grill without this?! Grilling saves a lot of kitchen clean up for me. With this we barely cook anything inside in the summer months! We can do all veggies in this... we typically do a medley of zucchini, squash, and red onion with a bit of olive oil, salt, and pepper. We also do shishito peppers in this basket - it's great!I do put it in the dishwasher and I haven't had any issues. It has darkened with use, but it still works the same as when I got it.
Great for grilling all sorts of veggies and small potatoes
August 24, 2017
Weber quality product. Heavy gauge stainless steel. Great for grilling all sorts of veggies and small potatoes. High sides let you do a good size portion for 4 -6 people. Does stain up after a couple uses but that has no effect on performance, Do recommend!
So far - so good. No warping like other brands
July 2, 2017
I've used it about a dozen times - vegetables and shrimp. I wipe it with olive oil before I use it and run it through the dishwasher when Im done. So far - so good. No warping like other brands. Slight discoloration but that is to be expected with use. I keep it indoors - no rust issues.
Great product, but smaller than advertised
June 9, 2017
I agree with the other reviewers that the actual dimensions are off from the product description. I was also concerned that this would be too big for anything I would do. Turns out it's actually the perfect size for me.That being said, you do have to be careful prepping this and the food for grilling to keep cleanup easier. But if you do, cleanup has been pretty easy for me so far. It is far easier than cleaning those wire-mesh-like baskets as food always gets caught in between the wires. This Weber basket is much better to clean, but still allows enough grilling through the slots (maybe some people would want more flames?).
Perfects for the grill
December 12, 2016
This little basket has worked out well for grilling vegetables that may fall into the grill otherwise. It does get very messy and somewhat discolored after a while. We've had a few instances of veggies sticking to the basket so be sure to prepare the basket ahead of time! Cooking appears to be even and we haven't had any problems with some veggies come out over done and some under done.
... this as a gift since I have one and love it for grilling fresh veggies on the grill
September 22, 2015
I bought this as a gift since I have one and love it for grilling fresh veggies on the grill. Be sure to season it so they don't stick. It may look dirty with black spots but it works great. I had 2 others with shorter sides and did not like them because veggies came out when stirred.

Great grill
June 30, 2017
Finally had a chance to use this while camping for a couple of nights. The quality is great, I just wish the flat top side had deeper side walls. For breakfast we cooked a whole package of bacon, but had to remove the griddle and precious cargo from the heat twice to drain the grease off. The scrambled eggs came out perfectly, truly non-stick out of the box. The side walls are barely 1/4" high, if they were higher this would have been 5 stars. The grill side worked great on the pork loin, steaks, and veggies we had for dinner. Provided great grill marks and didn't lose any veggies to the fire gods.
Works well
June 13, 2017
Works well. I was hoping this would be able to live on the oval center burner of my stove but it blocks pans from fitting on the burners if I do that. Not the pan's fault. I like it but I keep it in my oven for storage.

November 10, 2016
I use this often. Be mindful of bacon or any other greasy foods as I've had a few too many oil spills both while cooking and while trying to transport the pan to the sink. You may want to try to sop up the oil first, which as I'm typing this I'm wondering why I did not think of that before. This would be perfect you could somehow incorporate a drip tray or if the sides were higher. Nevertheless, the food cooks evenly on both sides and the griddle is certainly well made. I see this lasting me for several years.
I like it but....
September 11, 2016
This is a nice griddle, i bought it for camping but in hindsight i wish i would have bought the bigger griddle Lodge offers so it would fit the stove. I'm still able to cook on the stove with it but it is just a tad to small to fit right. So just make sure to measure your stove if you want to use it their and if your buying one for camping you might as well get one that fits your stove in my opinion. Food tastes great on it, its easy to wash, easy to cook on once you get used to eat, and will last a long time..4 stars because the lip on the flat side of the griddle is very shallow and would be safer and more versatile, otherwise a nice griddle.
Just as Good as the Expensive Imports
August 20, 2016
Now I can fry eggs on the grill without concern that they'll run through the grates before they're done! Oh, I've used a skillet before, but then I have to take it inside and clean it up before SWMBO finds out. With my own griddle her cooking stuff doesn't get bothered.Heats quickly and evenly. Has a lip to hold in just the right amount of oil for frying. Reverse side is for burgers and other meats and nicely marks the meat and the rendered fat slides into the grooves. Good Lodge quality griddle. Made in the USA and not overpriced like the imported stuff of similar size.
Good Value!
June 13, 2016
I purchased this griddle for cooking over the campfire grate. It came nicely packaged and with no damage during shipping. I am pleased with this product for my purposes. It is fairly heavy, definitely something that will require two-handed maneuvering while hot, as should be expected from a cast iron product. It sits pretty soundly with just a very slight wobble and I don't expect it to slide around easily. Both sides have a clean seasoned finish for the most part. The smooth side of mine had a couple pits, they are very small and i'm not too concerned about them. I am by no means a cast iron expert and I assume they aren't a big deal. All in all, I think this is a very good value. Hopefully, it will stand the test of time like cast iron should.I have included a video in my review and I hope that it is helpful to you :)

Stop using the tin foil and step up to this product. I can't imagine cooking veggies on the grill with anything else once I used this.
Large, holds good quantity
July 14, 2017
I mistakenly bought a larger one that I needed. It took up too much room on my grill. Yes, it holds a lot of food. I placed it on the grill mat but I don't think it cooked very fast that way.
perfect for cooking, not grilling veges
October 6, 2015
this product makes cooking vegetables on the grill quick and easy. i use this all the time and am very glad that i got it. i would give it 4,5 stars if i could. it is perfect for cooking onions, peppers, mushrooms, etc when you are already cooking meat / fish. the problem is that it "cooks" more than it "grills," since the veges are not the open flame. if you have the time/ patience to put veges on skewers or the grill they come out better with char marks. it doesn't bother me, but this product quickly loses its shiny luster and gets stained. all in all, i am very happy with the purchase.
Indispensable for Veggies
August 2, 2014
This is excellent,. there was no way I could ever have cooked veggies without this. Bear in mind there are 2 sizes. I bought the larger and the only draw back is it does not permit enough room for the meat no matter where I position it on my One Touch 22". My plan of attack now is to cook the veggies first and then the meat. Note, too, the holes are small in width to preclude most veggies from being able to squeeze through.
great basket for grilling small parts like galic and other things that will drop through the grate.
July 31, 2013
I bought this to grill some vegetable: garlic, tomato and such.I have a Q220 grill, the basket barely fits in there, but it does leave some space on the side to put something like a sausage or two. see my picture (edit: well, apparently Amazon has removed user upload image feature)When I first received it, I had to sand down all the edges, side and bottom, the punched the holes are just too sharp to be hand handling. Make sure you do the same as soon as you receive it. I am taking one star off because of this reason.
Great for Grilling
July 19, 2012
This basket worked very well! I was impressed how much easier it was to grill veggies in something like this rather than putting them directly on the grill itself. Not only can you spray the basket (definitely recommended) to prevent sticking, but you don't lose any veggies down the grates. I really like the size of the basket. It is large enough to allow me to fill it with all the veggies I need for dinner, but small enough that I could use the grill to cook something else as well. The one thing I will say to keep in mind is to perhaps put the basket in the grill as it's heating up because I feel like when I put the veggies in the basket in the kitchen and brought it out to the grill once it was hot, the veggies took longer than expected to cook. I think it was because the basket had to heat up. Putting veggies in the basket once it's already hot should avoid this long cook time.

Somewhat Disappointed in the Pre-Seasoning
April 23, 2017
It's a nice size and very useable. However, for a pre-seasoned item I did not find it possessing any non-stick qualities whatsoever on the grill side. The very first steaks grilled stuck.
Fine but would like a taller edge
March 7, 2017
Could use more of a raised edge to keep grease etc on it. Tried using this while camping and if it is not perfectly flat any oil or bacon grease just pours over the edge. Worked fine other than that but I will be getting something else with taller edges in the future.
No grease wells
December 23, 2016
This griddle works well on the stove top and in the oven, though on the stove I was surprised the middle part between the two burners was really a lot cooler than the ends, even at low to medium heat. I expected the cast iron to heat a little more evenly over the whole surface. But I can deal with that now that I know. The real downside to this griddle is the lack of grease wells. I couldn't tell from the pictures of description, but the sides are only 1/4" high or less. And because that's are no actual hear wells, if you have any thing with a lot of grease (like bacon) or a lot of liquid (like marinated meat), you run into problems with splashes or spills.I am continuing to use this griddle (carefully) for now, but I'm looking for a better option.
Bit clunky and hard to maintain, but it will do the job.
November 26, 2015
I like it, but it doesn't heat evenly on my stove and I have an extra oblong one in the middle, so my pancakes are always part brown part white. I don't use it often because it's very heavy and hard to clean. Also, it's a pain to season it and it gets my countertop greasy. It doesn't have high enough walls, so I don't make bacon on it or anything too greasy, which defeats the purpose. So if my pancakes are uneven and the bacon grease spills out, what else can I cook on it? I do like cast iron, but I think I should stick to pots and pans with sides.
Pitting Defect
January 22, 2015
I haven't used it yet, but it seems OK except for a pit defect on the side with the ridges. This will only be an issue with cleaning, I suspect. It wasn't enough to go through the return hassle for an item this price, but it is annoying never the less. They could use better quality control.
Nice Griddle.
March 12, 2014
Wish the sides were taller to maintain and fat, grease that accumulates, if frying meats, like burgers & bacon.and the handles are difficult for me to grasp to lift or move..esp while hot, warm. I have to drag it off the burners rather than lift. The surface cooks so well..both sides..so that is a plus.

August 16, 2016
The size is deceiving. It is a lot smaller than the size it claims to be. The inside dimensions are only 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 so if you are looking for something large, this is not for you.
Concept is right on. Cooking mastery is still up to the owner.
August 12, 2016
The concept of cooking 'everything' on the grill is right for me, but I haven't yet mastered the art of not burning the vegetables on the grill. But admittedly I never had burnt broccoli or burnt cauliflower before. So, an all new taste experience awaits you. I'm sure it is just a matter of practice. This basket is rather large so there's no putting it on the upper deck of the grill while closing the lid on the grill at the same time. The basket takes up about half of the grill by itself. I don't have a monstrous grill so don't hold that against the basket. It does definitely keep the veggies from falling through. That is good. Some people complained that it lost its stainless steel color after using. It is true. Ours looks like exactly what it is now a basket that sits in a very hot environment. No problems with the quality on this item though. Sturdy, heavy duty, will last as long as you want it probably.
This Stainless Steel Isn't
June 27, 2016
After one use the basket looks like it's been used for years. It would have been nice if on the packaging or somewhere cleaning tips had been provided. What good is stainless steel that stains -- badly?
Shields too much
July 5, 2011
It's well made, heavy gauge stainless steel. Easy to clean. In use, I feel the slots are not large enough. I feel I don't get much BBQ flavor. Flipping veggies in it quickly with a big BBQ spatula is hard due to the sloped sides. Always seem to lose something off the edge.Good for some things, but I think the baskets made of steel window screen may have been a better option for me. Easy to flip them over, things stay inside. Just the cleaning is harder.

Needs deeper trough
March 1, 2017
product itself is fine - good, heavy cast iron. What I don't like is that the drainage troughs around the edge are not deep enough. I find I have to at times use a paper towel to soak up liquids for fear they will overflow griddle/grill. Others I have since seen, have a deeper trough. Otherwise, it gets the job done.
I found that this griddle is best used outside on a grill
February 11, 2017
I found that this griddle is best used outside on a grill. It can become very smoky during use. Possible spillage from grease. Two hamburgers are pushing it.
not so great, I'd keep looking.
November 30, 2016
I am a pretty disappointed with this product. The quality of the metal is good and the flat side is nice, but I think I didn't really think through the implication of a double sided griddle with one side being grilled. If this was flat on both sides, it probably would work better, but unfortunately this does not have even heat distribution and so when I'm cooking, I have like two small zones that are nuclear hot and the rest is almost cold.
Great concept, but ...
October 10, 2016
It is slightly warped and does not lay perfectly flat on our induction cook top. It is difficult to get two burners to operate simultaneously because they automatically shut off if there is no "pot" on top of the burner. If we are very careful we can keep two burners going. We really don't use it.
I love my Lodge skillets
April 11, 2016
I love my Lodge skillets, but this pan did not live up to my expectations. When used on the stovetop the pan is meant to be placed over two burners, which would give a nice large surface to cook on. Sadly the middle of the pan doesn't heat up much at all, so food can only be cooked on the portions of the pan that are directly over the burners. It's much easier to just use my skillets.

A Cleaning Nightmare

It's a fantastic concept but it is unbelievably hard to clean. I've scrubbed it endlessly and even used a Brillo pad but I still can't get it clean. I would rather never use it than have to clean it again!!!

Quality product. Not functional for how I wanted to use it. - - This has not been practical for use on a gas range for pancakes, eggs, bacon, or grilled cheese. Everything sticks despite cooking spray and butter, there is no way to drain bacon grease, and it is so heavy I have trouble manipulating it on my range.
