Great Product
August 25, 2016
I was skeptical about making the switch from jam-packed wallet to money clip, but I had a friend who swore by it. I got an Amazon gift card for my birthday so I thought, hey, I'll give it a shot. I could not be happier with the decision. I researched like crazy trying to find an inexpensive, but well-regarded product. The Alaska Bear clip met both of those requirements: it had good reviews and was under $20. Again, I was skeptical about down-sizing. I selected four cards that I figured were priorities (driver's license, student ID, debit card, and Chipotle Chiptopia card). In addition to those, there's also occasionally been 5-8ish bills in there. This clip has reliably, faithfully contained all its contents with zero degeneration of its grip. After about 7ish months of use, it still gives a hearty snap closed when I remove everything. I've never tried to overstuff it or purposely stretch it out, so I can't speak to how well it'd hold up trying to cram 10 cards in there, but with my regular, conservative use, it has maintained its integrity. It's accumulated some superficial, light scratches from being in the same pocket as my keys, but it's a nondescript stainless steel money clip; I couldn't care less about how it looks.Overall, the Alaska Bear money clip gave me exactly what I was looking for. It's a tremendous product at a low price for anyone looking to downsize their wallet game.
Great for those that avoid cash; very firm
June 15, 2016
This clip has been fantastic, the perfect implement to move me permanently from a bulky wallet to the lean, trim world of money clips and I don't intend to every go back. Prior to using the money clip, I already avoided cash whenever possible. It seemed that coins were always just in the way. Having a money clip has been a great motivator to continue this trend. And it fits so sleekly and unobtrusively into any pocket, no matter how skinny.I fit 3 credit cards and a driver's license, as well as about 4 bills folded in thirds. Previously, I had 5 cards in the clip and didn't feel comfortable with the bills in thirds so they went in half and got severely beat up on the edges because they extended past the clip. I recommend thirds, as shown in the attached picture. The clip has held up great and I have no concerns about it losing its springy-ness.
Great piece. Even better service.

So I've been meaning to update my wardrobe for a while, starting with a money clip to replace the beat up wallet I've been carrying around for years. I was seeking something sleek, sophisticated, and utilitarian, and that is what I found with this piece. But to start off with, the seller was great. The package, which was shipped from Amazon, was running behind schedule, so the seller contacted me by email to make sure I had received the item and to let them know if I had any problems. I've never written a review before, but after service like that, I felt they earned it.As for the piece, it is durable, easily able to hold several credit cards and a small stack of twenties. It remains tight and does not loose its shape. I wanted something that I could pull out of a business suit or out of a rugged pair of jeans, and not look out of place, and this fit the bill. I've already received several compliments on the piece, including from my boss, who uses a money clip himself. The one warning I will give, the picture can be a bit deceiving. The clip looks a little wider in the picture than it does in person. I'd say it is about the size of an average mans thumb. Is the size a drawback? Not at all. But it was initially surprising coming out of the package. All in all, a five-star piece.
simple n satisfied

Absolutely love my money clip. I'm glad that it isn't doing too much it's very simple and classy. What I like most about it is the fact that it can someone be adjusted to hold the amount of money you needed to you just squeeze on it a little bit. This is all that I can ask for in a simple money clip
money clips are the best and this AB clip is one great example!

this is the second one I purchased. I gave my first one in silver to a friend of mine (which i soon regretted) and he loves it and still is using it. I just got this one for the color. I feel like this gold one (or perhaps gold colored one - I believe its brass) is much more solid and substantial than the silver and silver was solid in its own right.A trick to tightening a loose clip is simply take all the money our of it and grip the bend on the clip with some pliers and squeeze hard. then just like that its good as new and you can do this over and over again for years. even titanium clips need to be conditioned like this one in a while. just make sure to put some cloth or a face towel between the pliers and the clip so you dont damage its finishall in all, money clips are classy and low profile. they are great to have if you want you swagger to increase and elevate your respect while not taking up any space on your person.I have four cards (debit card, credit card, college ID and Drivers license) and two bills but i could have up 7 max with the amount of amount of cards i carry. for every card you put in you give up around four bucks of cash complicity in my opinion so I would say that it pack about 20 bills with no cards or 4-5 cards with embossed information(i.e. back or credit cards with raised lettering) or 6-7 cards without embossed writing. choose whatever combo suits you(i like the 4 cc and 5 bills personally). I like the limitation because it keeps it slim and keeps me efficient with my every day carry choices (ie i only take what i need)this is a great buy plus it looks great with my AMEX Premier Rewards gold card and my corporate gold!!!!! (also looks amex delta sky miles gold card ~my parent's card~ and citi American Airline AAdvantage gold card~my classmate's card. I have seen it on all those and it looks stunning.) So if you have a gold card of any sort, then this is a must buy if you wanna look like a boss on a date.--for give the typos and/or grammar mistakes if any exist in this review--
Just what I wanted.
January 15, 2015
My first money clip. I had avoided trying one before because all the ones I had seen were flimsy and didn't seem like they would keep everything together securely. Or they were just far to fancy for me.Used it for a week or so now - and it is definitely secure. No worries about your bills or cards sliding around loose or flying out of your pocket when you pull this out. I have about a dozen bills (folded in thirds), my DL, CC and a few business cards in my clip. The finish is just right - stylish without being 'blingy'. And the price seems perfectly reasonable for something that will last forever.

Great Small Wallet
July 19, 2017
My husband bought one of these several years ago and it is now the only kind of wallet he will use. They eventually stretch out a bit on the cash/money clip side, so he replaces them every year or two. I bought this one as a back-up since I haven't seen them in the "As Seen on TV" section at Walmart since we originally bought once. The only issue I had was that this one came in a small cardboard box instead of the plastic packaging shown, which might be kind of odd if given as a gift. Other than that, my hubby loves this minimalist "wallet."

Was a gift for my son who was using a rubber band for his stuff. He is from the new generation of spartan so this minimal money keeper fits his style.
but it's small and fits much better in pants
July 5, 2016
Had it over a year and I'm a fan. Not sure if it qualifies as stylish or not, but it's small and fits much better in pants, especially slimmer dress pants. I keep 4 cards and a couple business cards on one side, and some bills on the other. If you keep your main credit card on the outside, it's very quick to get out and in. Bills are a little slower, and you need to keep enough in there that they fit snug. And any card not on the outside will be slower, but that's the compromise. Seems to scratch the numbers on the cards a little but no serious problems for me.
Can't beat it especially for the price.
January 16, 2016
Can't beat it especially for the price. I got a slim clip maybe 6 years ago when I got sick and tired of carrying my bulky wallet everywhere. Never looked back. Love having just the slim simple clip without all the clutter. I had to learn to only carry with me what we truly important because it definitely limits what you can bring. I would recommend replacing the slim clip once every 5 years or so. Over time, the clip begins to widen/loosen and it doesn't keep your cash so well. That's why I replaced mine. And I'm perfectly happy, literally good as new. I'll never carry anything else.
Best alternative to a bulky wallett
January 9, 2016
I got tired of carrying a bulky wallett I my hip pocket. It's bad for your back when sitting and not very safe when in larger crowds such as airports and the like. I saw one of these that a co-worker had purchased so I tried it. Absolutely love it. Keeps all my bills and six cards securely in my front pocket. I'll never carry a wallett again after using this clip. Price is great. Had it for months and it still has as much tension for holding bills and cards as when new. If I were to need to replace for whatever reason, I would.
4 years and enjoying it still
March 14, 2014
Going through my list of "products to review" is when I noticed I've been using my Slim Clip for about 4 years now. So what has been my experience? So far, so good.Like many other guys, I once carried a wallet in my back pocket. Then, just for the hell of it, I decided one day back in 2010 to start carrying a money clip and stop carrying a wallet -- took a little to get used to it, but I'm glad I did. And this should go without saying, but I'll say it anyway: carry this in your front pocket. Now, one thing to bear in mind, as other reviews have noted, this will scrape against the surfaces of debit and credit cards. This means your nice, shiny gold leafing on the lettering and numbers won't last long. Want it to last a little longer? Put your credit/debit cards beneath something else, like your driver's license or other ID or an insurance card. And don't stack your credit/debit cards together either, as the raised numbers will scrape across the signature pad of the one above it. This really should be common sense, or something easily discernible by just looking at the thing...Here's something else that should also be readily discernible: the cards you once carried in your wallet will now be exposed in your pocket, so you will notice some unusual wearing on the cards you do carry, in particular along the edges, as they rub against other things in your pocket and against the lining of your pocket. This is normal, folks.Otherwise I haven't had any issues with mine, and, like I said, I bought mine 4 years ago and have been using it ever since and have so far not had to replace it and it hasn't shown any sign of wear or tear, or any indication that it's lost its grip, so to speak. I don't share many of the observations of the 1 and 2 star voters on this -- the ones practically screaming to not buy this. Instead I'll just say that it'll take some getting used to if you previously had a wallet instead, and make sure to stack your cards well to avoid excessive scraping against each other. A lot of the complaints of the other reviewers are potentially easily avoidable.Oh and don't put it in the same pocket as anything you don't want scraped. This thing's made of metal and has edges that will scrape into other things in your pocket -- such as a cell phone screen, as a 1-star reviewer has noted. So give it a try and see if you like it. But I've had mine for 4 years, been using it continuously since I bought it, and aside from some damaged credit/debit cards from improperly grouping them in the clip, I haven't had any issues and see no reason to go with something else.

Great clip for the price
September 2, 2016
Great clip for the price, what you see online is what you get. I'm giving it 4/5 stars because after just one drop on the floor in NYC it got semi scratched up. You can tell if you're 1 ft from it and checking it but normally glancing over you wouldn't be able to tell. It appears a darker/black is underneath this silver finish. But for the price I dont regret the purchase at all and I'm still using it. From this angle it seems the scratches are still silver but there is a black area.
Good for the price, but not my favorite.
February 25, 2016
Bought this money clip for a friend when I found out he lost his. His name initials happen to be “AB” so this was a great match. The money clip came in a black gift pouch with Alaska Bear’s name on it. The money clip itself only has the letters AB on it. I got the brushed aluminum which is decent enough, but nothing out of the ordinary. I compared it to the money clip I currently own (since 2006) and I do like mine better. The AB is on the thinner side and although will hold 3 cards and a few bills, that would be maxing it out and spreading it wider than the top loop. Not sure if it will hold up too well and if it will spring back being spread wide for a long time. Again for comparison, it is made of thinner metal and is longer and narrower than mine. Another feature that mine has over this one is a “spring” bar on the shorter back side. It keeps the contents tighter. Again, all these things are personal preferences and my opinion is based on comparison to the one I currently own. Mine was more expensive though. So considering the price and actual functionality I would rate this as a 4-star money clip. See pictures for more info. If you found my review helpful, please click the [YES] button below. Thanks.
Works exactly as expected
January 7, 2016
I just received this in the mail today with a new Hammer Anvil slim leather wallet. I know this goes against the grain of "minimalist" and "slim" wallets, but given the price, aesthetics, and utility, I found it hard to pass up. I give it only 4 stars for now, as I haven't owned it long enough to comment on the durability, though it seems well-made. People complaining of it stretching out: quit over-stuffing it. Clips like these aren't meant to be opened beyond the thickness at end where it "folds" back over itself. Will try to remember to comment a year from now.EDIT (1/9/2017): I've had this for a little over a year now. I've found that maybe 2-3 times, I've had to "squeeze" the clip a bit to get it to grab on to a fold tightly, but that's only after I've stuffed a dozen or more folded bills into the clip for an extended period of time (a few days or so). Other than that, this has worked perfectly.
You get what you pay for...
October 15, 2015
Yes, the price is very reasonable but the functionality is less than desired. When it arrived it did not work at all as you could not fit the bills into the clip because it was too tight and there was no space to work with. The bottom piece needs to be 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch shorter and have a slightly more of a curve to be able to slip the bills on top of this piece. The slightly more expensive units out there have a better design that allows the bills to be slipped in more easily and securely.Update: After the seller saw my posting they offered to send me another one that might be a "better deal" (at no cost to me). Although I told them it wasn't necessary they went ahead anyway. A new one came today, almost identical to the first one, but the functionality is so much better and does not have any of the negatives the first one did. I added two more stars for the exceptional customer service and the better design of the second one.
Excellent money clip, although the tension can make it a little difficult to open
May 11, 2015
The product is very nice looking and has the perfect length and thickness. The only reason I rated it less than perfect is that I actually find it a little difficult to open when putting the clip back one my notes. The clasp is very strong and tight which is superb for keeping money in place as the notes are not going to slip out, but it can make it rather hard to open to put them back after removing them to pay for something. The lip on the clip is a very small profile which is perfect to keep it very slim in my pocket, but comes at the cost of not providing much leverage to open it. If I could give it 4.5 or 4.75 that would be more appropriate, but it's whole stars only. I'm hoping that over time the tension will loosen just a slight bit to make it a little easier to use.
Good Clip, Could Be Springier.
March 2, 2015
A Money clip is a compromise. You're sacrificing space for economy. Traditionalism for minimalism. So obviously this clip is going to hold less than a wallet. But it does its job and can adjust to hold the essentials, and when you remove some stuff it can be bent back to a smaller size to hold it tightly. It works like a money clip should. The only thing that could be better is that it could be a little bit more springy, I find myself having to adjust it even after removing just one credit card or a couple of $5 bills. But that's to be expected, it's not a premium money clip. And thats reflected in the price, which honestly, makes it worth buying. Especially if you're trying a money clip for the first time.

Seems to be as good as the ones I bought 8 or 9 years ago and still use. Bought two for friends who were envious of mine. Was concerned about the reviews indicating the quality was not as good as the originals. Seems to be just fine.
... it for about 2 to 3 weeks and nothing bad so far so can't really complain
February 16, 2016
It is a very durable clip so far have had it for about 2 to 3 weeks and nothing bad so far so can't really complain. The reason why i give it a 4 out 5 stars is because the money is hard to get into the clip. The card side is very nice put about 3 or 4 in there to hold it all tight so none fall out on accident.
Good product

Pretty cool item ... If you don't like that bulky wallet feel in your back pocket ... This is the product for you .... I love it ...
a little flimsy, but does its job.
July 3, 2010
I spend a lot of time driving with my windows down. I also generally have a notebook sitting next to me. I bought this money clip to keep my notebook pages from flying all over the place during such drives. Honestly, it is doing the job just great. The material is a little bit flimsy and I have managed to bend it to shape better around my notebook. While that is not bad for my use of it, I can imagine how you wouldn't want a money clip to be quite so malleable. Overall its strong enough, you just can't stress it by over stuffing it with anything.

Decent depending on your use
September 20, 2017
Its ok..if you all are familiar with the z clip, its not even close to the quality of a zclip. The clip itself is classy looking, but the problem is if you have a wad of cash, your license, and a credit card or two thats pretty thick and you put this clip on it, it doesnt spring back to its original tight closure, it stays bent out to whatever the large wad was..that is NOT how I thought this clip was so im disappointed in the quality. So, just know, that if your ONLY intent is to carry small amounts in this clip, you should be ok..If you come across a situation where you need to clip a large amount of bills and other things, just know that is then going to be the new size of your clip unless you bend it back to shape and that just ruins the clip
I'm disappointed I went with this brand
June 14, 2017
The surface has scratches and imperfections. I'm quite disappointed I went with this brand, especially given it was intended to be gifted. I'm really shocked at the number of positive reviews. Buyers beware.Edit: the company sent me a clip without imperfections and I appreciated that service even though it was too late to give it as a gift like it was intended. I bumped up the stars from 1 to 3. It can't hold much but does well with a few cards.
Very nice - but not for me
August 9, 2016
Looks great. I even like their logo. I've never had a money clip, so maybe they all work like this, but here are my cons:1. Its really stiff. If you just want to slide a bill or two in there, its not all that easy. The clip is really stiff, so you know the cash isn't going to fall out, but if you have a line of people behind you, you'll want to move to the side to put your change away before you grab your coffee and go.2. Unless you have a fat stack of cash in it, there's only pressure on the bills out at the very end of the clip. (under the logo) So my weak little stack of a $5 and a couple $1's are free to spin in the clip while in my pocket. My entire purpose of getting a clip was to stop paying for things with bills that look like they've just woke up the morning after a marathon. It doesn't really accomplish this though. For those of you that carry a solid stack of bills on you, I'm 100% confident you'll love this. For those of you that only carry a couple bills, might not be satisfied.
Holds tight at first - will wear with excess use
January 14, 2016
It's just ok. The spring hadn't worn out for the first couple months. When I first got it the clip tightly held 1 credit card, my ID, and a couple bills. It would tightly hold just one bill; until I was on vacation and had my ID, one credit card, and 7 total bills. This stretched it out too much and it barley holds a credit card and a couple bills now. I was able to clamp it back using a vice grip on it, but now it has an irregular bend and a couple scratches on it.In short, for the price this is a good money clip. If you only carry one credit card and a couple bills at once it will probably never loose its spring, but pile too much in there and it will undoubtedly be unable to hold less than a couple bills with a credit card.
Second one sent is better
December 10, 2015
Our son bought this because he liked how it looked, and he really liked it at first, but, like some other reviewers have said, it unfortunately really is a poorly designed product. After a few days it has become too loose to hold anything smaller than a big wad of cash. So, if he only has a few bills, they fall out immediately and he has resorted to stuffing some papers between the bills just so they stay in. This really defeats the purpose of a money clip.Update: I contacted the seller about the issues above, and they immediately sent a new one (at no charge) that works much better. It holds the bills more tightly, so maybe it's been redesigned, or else the first one we received was defective. Anyway, I thought it was very nice of them to send us a new one.
Looks classy but loses grip strength after continued use
September 14, 2015
I wanted something sleek to replace my large wallet and one of my friends suggested using a money clip instead. Given that this is my first experience with a money clip, I wanted something affordable to try it out first before splurging on anything pricier.I found the Alaska Bear money clip to be extremely effective in holding my cash, along with my driver's license and a few credit cards.Unfortunately, after a few weeks of use the clip had lost a lot of its strength and was essentially permanently "expanded" to the size of my typical amount of my cash /cards. If I wanted to carry fewer bills/cards on any particular day, the clip would not hold the decreased load securely and stuff would slip out.I'm not sure if this is typical of money clips, but based on this experience, I've decided to switch to a slim card holder instead.

Not a money clip
February 13, 2017
This isn't a money clip. This is for credit cards only. The original slim clip held money on one side & cards on the other side. I ended up grinding down the side lips on one side to use it for money.
Make sure it's the real deal before you buy. If so, totally more than worth it!
January 1, 2017
Received money clip, but it had no Slim Clip clamshell packaging or SC logo on it, just the clip itself with the fake 20 bill in it. Since it was a gift for someone else for Christmas, I don't know how well the quality is, but I can say that I've had an actual, original Slim Clip for years and if you can find the real deal it's totally one of the best investments you'll ever make, both on your wallet (in more ways than one) and on your back; the lack of a bulky wallet will help more than you think when it comes to proper posture and ease of back pain!
Not authentic but does the job
July 21, 2015
I got this in the mail from China. There is a clear typo on the back. I compared it to my husband's slim clip (purchased off the tv) and there were some differences. The logo is different, the shape of the actual clip is different, and it is clearly not the authentic product. Regardless, it does the job and *fingers crossed* mine hasn't bent/broken yet. But hey that's what you get for $4.
"Seconds"
September 13, 2012
I had one I got at a local chain store and loved it, but lost it a few months later. I was not able to find any at the stores, so ordered it here. It arrived 7 weeks later, and I was so happy to see it was in the same package my first one was in. I was not happy once I got it out of the box. It looks the same, but it very crudly made. the edges were very rough, so had to spend several minutes filing them smooth so it would not cut me, or my pocket. also, the benbs were way off, being to tight in some places, too wide in others, so more time was spent getting it set right. Also. the money clip was so tight I had to use a knife to wedge under it enough to be able to do it with a finger. In all I spent about 40 minutes to get it to be usable. If I could get one at a store, I would, and I advise peoplexthat it is the best money clip available, just be sure to buy it at a local store, because the real ones are awesome!! So, you may have better luck if you order one a bit higher in price, as I got the lowest priced one and got wyat I paid for it like buying off the seconds racks!!
questionable
February 13, 2011
really hesitant to buy because of all the mixed reviews, but for the price, i was willing to gamble...the jury is still out.First off, it may be a manufacturing defect, but the one that came for me seemed like it was a refurbished return. lots of scratches and swirl marks that seems like it was used for some time, returned and repackaged. It doesn't really bother me, only because it would eventually get like that anyway.second, it's advertised that it holds up to six credit cards and 30 bills. um, no...it will hold up to 5 cards for me, if i can and cram six in there it seems like it would do some damage to the cards, and it was almost impossible to take the cards out. 30 bills...no either! it held maybe up to 20 bills, and more, it wouldn't squeeze in there or be as secure as it is advertised. Both of these goes back to my theory that i got a returned refurbished product. seems like the metal has bent down and they did it too much which would explain the inability to hold what it is advertised.for the price, its fine...although if my suspicion is correct and i got a refurbished one, then the seller is really doing some false advertising. if it is truly 'new', then the quality of it is pretty crappy. so either way, lose lose...but for $5, who cares?

Not good. I got better served with the "CL Carbonlife Carbon Fiber Clip"

This clip deformed after being used with more bills than it was probably designed (probably my mistake) but I'd not expect the piece not to hold its shape. I bought a "CL Carbonlife" to replace it and that is great.

I wanted to trim down my wallet, so I bought this. For the first 2 weeks I had it, it was so tight that the plastic on my cards started to wear off. After those two weeks, it became so loose, stuff would just fall out.The only plus is that it looks pretty cool.My rating scale:1 Star - The amazon page was a blatant lie to trick people into purchasing it.2 Star - The page was correct, but the product was not worth the money, or it was rather poorly made.3 Star - The product is technically good, and meets expectations4 Star - Feels / Looks good, mostly fits the purpose I bought it for.5 Star - The product fulfilled the exact reason I purchased it, it does exactly what I want.
A Paper Clip Works Better
June 30, 2016
UPDATE: Since I had ordered the clip and expressed my disappointment, I was immediately contacted by a customer service rep. Their response and attempts to make things right have been remarkable. They sent me a replacement, and it works slightly better; however, it's still not adequate for daily use--it's just too hard to insert cash into to clip. I added a star due to the great customer service, but unfortunately, the product still lacks practicality.---------------------------------------------------I've been using a paper clip to keep my cash together. I thought I'd look for something more classy and functional, so I settled on the Alaska Bear Classic Silver Cash Money Clip. Unfortunately, the clip was too stiff--to the point that I was unable to insert a few bills into it. Consequently, I decided to force it open a little in order to loosen it up--now it's too loose. Now, I have a useless piece of metal that may find it's way into the garbage soon. I'm going back to the paper clip--easy to put money in, easy to take money out. It's just not as stylish.
Too Difficult to Remove Cards/Bills
June 22, 2016
I bought this money clip for when I go out and don't want a bulky wallet in my back pocket. It looked good when it arrived and felt like it was made well but unfortunately, it was much too tight. If you plan on holding 1 or 2 cards and a couple bills it's okay, otherwise you need something else. It might stretch out over time but it's just much too difficult to insert or remove cards/bills when you first use it. It fell from my hands at the club trying to remove my ID card and I wasn't able to find it. I could see that happening often, so I don't think I could justify ordering another one even though the price is great.
Doesn't hold its shape, not even worth the return. Great customer service.

I found the joy and freedom of escaping the use of a regular wallet when my friend upgraded his money clip and gave me his old one. I enjoyed keeping it in my front pocket and sitting down without sitting on my wallet or wearing out jeans over time. Unfortunately I eventually lost that clip and so tried to find the highest rated on on Amazon to replace it. As many have stated this clip looks nice but when you stick about 20 bills plus a few cards in it (5), it no longer snaps back to how it was. I am writing this review because the 4.5 star rating seems a little high to me and I must agree with the 51 other 1-3 star folks to not waste your money. For $9.99 its not even worth the return. Invest in a higher quality clip that has a hinge - this will ensure the clip stays tight around your valuables.Edit: I just wanted to update that I received a very nice email by the manufacturers of this clip apologizing for the issue and inviting to send me another clip for free. Though I much appreciate their email I have to respectfully stick to my review as it reflects my real feedback using this clip. The clip is beautiful and did come in a nice velvet case and since the manufacturers are so responsive I will upgrade this to a two-star rating with the caveat to not go above a few cards and bills. I find realistically though that some cashier will hand you back way too many ones or you will have to carry a few extra cards temporary for some reason. In this case you will overstretch the clip leading you to potentially lose your valuables.I invested in a clip with a hinge around the same exact price (<$10) here on Amazon and am quite happy with it. I do want to thank the manufactures for the nice email and have added to the title of this review that they have great customer service.
looks good, feels good *UPDATED*
November 19, 2014
looks good, feels good, and is not too large.its a little tight when new, but its easy to open it up a tiny bit and it still holds things very tightly.*NEXT-DAY UPDATE*the very same day i give it five stars, it failed on me. after going to the supermarket and taking two bills (out of the five i had in it alongside one credit card), it has already lost enough tension to hold anything securely. my recommendation is to avoid money clips made from anything but spring steel.*UPDATE 2*seller contacted me to offer a replacement or just make things right. its a small and cheap item and i really dont want another so i declined. however i thought it should be noted that the seller takes their customers very seriously, which is commendable and leaves a good impression even though the product is not what i hoped it would be.

Not Impressive
December 10, 2015
It's OK, but not very impressive. I was expecting something a bit slimmer, but in order to hold the credit cards it has to maintain the dimensions that is uses. I never carry credit cards that way because of the new issues of "skimmers" that can steal the information off your magnetic strip and not well known is the ability of this metal clip to act as an antenna, making it easier for the bad guys. Guess I'll have to look for a different one now.
Almost wort it

Sort of works, but too big and cheap to be stylish. Edges are sharp enough to cut. The cards retainer side does actually work, but given how big it is, I'm not sure it's better then an actual wallet.
Poor replica. SUPER flimsy metal
February 6, 2015
NOT the original Slim clip. Poor replica. SUPER flimsy metal, sharp edges and just plain junky feeling. Packaging was paper thin plastic and the interior display packaging looked to be photo copied and put in there. The package shows a square at the top of the package where the "as seen on tv" is supposed to be, but when you get the package, its just a red square with nothing in it. Would not recommend this to anyone looking for a regular wallet alternative. Good refund policy via Amazon, but kind of disappointed that they would allow such poor reproductions to be sold as the genuine article.
Knock-off. Fake. Counterfeit. Not in retail package (shown in image)
December 12, 2013
I owned the original (real) Slim Clip for many years, and loved it. I purchased it at a Walgreens originally for about $10 or so - at least 6 or 7 years ago. I lost it a couple weeks ago, along with everything it contained. So began my search for another one.I was unable to find any locally, so I purchased this one (from seller BIGFLYSPORTS) because the image shows the retail packaging, and the manufacturer was listed as "Slim Clip" (now "Ontel Products"), and I thought I would have been receiving the real thing. THIS IS NOT THE CASE.I received it yesterday...not in retail packaging, but in a small plastic bag. This knock-off uses inferior metal. It's thinner, which makes it a little more flexible than the original, but it also makes it sharper. Add to that the unfinished edges, and this thing will probably tear up my clothing in no time.I'll give it a chance by using it, but from the looks and feel of it, I'm not expecting it to last nearly as long as the original.
Slim Clip, slim comfort, slim options
August 4, 2010
I purchased this because of a coworker who said he loved his after using it for about 3 weeks. I was excited because of the cheep price and was excited to shy away from my bulky wallet. At first I was thinking, this is great, small, compact holds my cards and cash and thats all I needed. However, after using it for about 2 months, it started to slowly get stretched out. and it got to lose and wouldn't hold my cash tight enough, and was kinda getting crooked where it held my cards. It would never hold less then 3 bills and I had to do a tri-fold just to get the dang thing to hold 3 bills!Needless to say, after 3 months I purchased a leather magnetic money clip that also has a slot for all my cards that I absolutely love!! The magnetic clip is "money"! Even holds a single bill.Would I recommend the slim clip? NO. Can I see how some people may like it? YES.Just wasn't for me. Even though I was excited about it.My final thought: Save the $10 and get a leather money clip that also has a pocket for all your cards.

Don't waste your money

Don't waste your money. I bought this money clip for my husband. He used this 4 or 5 times holding 1 credit card, drivers license and some cash. It has stretched out to the point he can no longer use it.
Too tight Than too loose
December 1, 2016
YOu can barely put your cards and money in it. Once I forcefully open it, it became mad loose. Come on a rubber band work better than this piece of metal.
Money Clip Does Not Work
May 19, 2016
Just received the clip. Too tight. Could barely put one dollar folded into it. Tried to expand the opening. Now opening to large and no tension to hold dollar bills. I guess you should buy the clip from a brick and mortar store so you can see how it works. Waste of money. I rarely do returns.

Absolute garbage. I've owned money clips that spring back into shape and I've owned clips like this one. Once it's spread forget it, that's the new minimum that you can carry. If you're like me and sometimes you have eight bills while other times you have three then this clip will be worthless to you.It does look like the picture. The velvet bag was nice I guess. But in terms of actually doing it's job, this fails 100%.
sharp edges- M-clip is much better (but is also much more $$$$)

JUNK!!! This is not the "original", instead it's a very thin, sharp and cheap piece of flimsy metal that looks like the pic. Even the packaging is cheap. DO NOT BUY!!!
Product totally mis-represented
May 29, 2013
I have been ordering slim clips for my friends for the past few years. While the packaging for this product is made to look like the original, it is indeed a knock off and a poor comparison to the original. The metal used on this product is so thin and flimsy it is actually dangerous to use because of the sharp edges. I do wish that I had my money back so that I could purchase the original version of this product if, in fact, it is still available. Amazon, in my opinion, should terminate it's relationship with this vendor. Selling this product is deceptive and should be stopped.
Not the original Slim Clip - Rip off
January 19, 2013
I ordered this product for my uncle who made a passing comment on how he liked mine. I was going to get it as a gift and just order it to his house but my mother kept delaying in getting his address to me. I just decided to have it sent to my house instead. I am glad I did because what I got was a ripoff slim clip. It had a huge dent/crack in it and the metal that is used is cheap and the edges are all sharp. I compared it with mine and it's obviously a fake. It came in no package like the " as seen on tv" but instead was in some bubble wrap with a bar code sticker on it. Needless to say i didn't send this one over. The SlimClip imprinted on the front of the clip is definitely not the same as the one printed on mine. Mine is more refined, engraved and not fading. The one that i received was fading and not clear.
Cheaply made flimsy thin metal
July 9, 2012
I purchased the slim clip because I recently lost my old one. I took the package out of the box it arrived in and i was packaged up just like my old one. Except, after I removed it from the "as seen on TV" packaging this slim clip felt very flimsy and cheaply made. I took 2 fingers and placed it under the clip part and pulled back slightly enough to put my 2 credit cards and ID card in it and the metal clip bent out so far that there is a 1 inch gap. so it will not actually hold any cards in place because of the thin cheap metal that was used to make this slim clip. I work in the sheet metal industry for a living, my original slim clip was made out of 16gage metal and this new slim clip is made out of 24 Gage metal, 16 Gage is roughly twice as thick and 24 Gage. Therefore much more rigid and will hold it form easily. I have actually recommended the original slim clip to friends and family and I know about 7 people who have the Quality made Slim Clip and they all love it. But if this is where slim clip is going with there product, then I will definitely have to search else where to find a quality product that will hold its form and not bend out of shape. Very disappointed with this purchase. To Everyone: Please make sure you never buy this product, unless you like throwing your money in the trash!
