Windows Sensor API compatible with GPSComplete
March 29, 2017
Windows Sensor API compatible means that this will work with a lot of the newer software found on the Windows Store, along with older software that uses NMEA. This will work with things such as the Windows 10 Maps app (which is very nice since it lets you download maps of each state locally to your device). You must set up GPS Complete in order to do this, there is a guide on how to do this on the manufacturer's website. The physical hardware itself is great. It can easily get a fix fast indoors even on a cold boot. It consumes little more power than an average USB flash drive.
Get Your GPS Fix
March 9, 2017
I have a PC/Android tablet that does not have gps built in. I have Microsoft Streets and Trips on the Windows 10 partition and CoPilot on the Android partition. I needed gps capability to use these map programs. The Android app was a little tricky to figure out but works well once configured. Pretty much the same thing with Windows 10. The GlobalSat provides a quick dependable gps fix. I've also used this gps receiver with my Macbook Pro with Apple Maps and Google Maps.
Good GPS but needs app to make it work on Android
April 17, 2016
Nice accurate external GPS. I have been getting within 3 ft repeatability. Make sure that the butt end (non usb side) is facing skyward. Also you will need to install an app ('pl2303Info' on google play) on an android phone. On newer phones (android 5) you will need to turn on a hidden feature called 'allow mock locations' in developer options which is also hidden and requires a weird sequence of pushing buttons. Search the net for 'unlock developer options on android 5'. I'm sure this sounds complex but in reality it will take you more time to search for the app and the unlock instructions then to make it work.
Compact and Lightweight

Purchased this to use with my Raspberry Pi. Connected up, configured, and no issues acquiring satellites. Also pulls double duty as a timing source when my Pi has no internet connectivity. Comes with a dust cover, and a 6-8 inch cable which is nice for using in projects where space within an enclosure is at a premium.
Works great on my Windows 8.1 tablets
February 14, 2015
I've used this successfully on both Windows 8.1 tablets that I've tried it on. First plug the GPS unit into your tablet's micro-USB port (or its full-size USB port using the included adapter). Then the GPS unit installs some software; then under DEVICE MANAGER | Ports (COM & LPT), you'll see a new entry called "Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port (COM3)." When the little red light on the GPS unit starts blinking, you've connected to satellites and should have good GPS data coming out the simulated serial port; you'll likely have to go outside to get this connection working. If you want to use the GPS unit on a program that uses the Windows API to receive the GPS data (like most Windows store apps), you'll need to install the GPSDirect program (search the Web to find it). I've used the GPS unit successfully with MAPS PRO (a touch-friendly Windows store program that works nicely on tablets) and EXPERTGPS (a very powerful Windows desktop program less suited for tablets); both allow you to download USGS topographical maps, which are ideal for hiking. Also ideal for hiking is the weight of the USB GPS unit -- a mere 6 grams (a fifth of an ounce)! When paired with a cheap 7-inch Windows 8.1 tablet and MAPS PRO, you have a mapping GPS for hiking with great maps at a fraction of the cost of a regular hiking GPS. And you can transfer the USB GPS unit to another tablet or laptop whenever you like.
Just what I needed

Bought this to use with aviation navigation software on my Windows 8.1 tablet and has worked great so far. Acquisition time is very short, and WAAS is enabled by default on the chip. Note that this does not use the Windows 8 location API, but instead creates a COM port for an app to access location, which shouldn't be an issue for most unless your app is newer and designed to *only* use the Win 8 API. In that case, there are a couple different software options available from other vendors that I'm aware of that will send the data to location API. Also, only 1 app can access the COM port at a time (gpsGate can help here).Sensitivity seems to be excellent - I'm able to acquire a full WAAS signal in my house, and in my car as well. Haven't tried it in the plane yet, but I have a feeling it'll work equally as well.I noticed that as long as there is any power at all to the micro USB port, the GPS will continue to run, so depending on your device, it's sleep mode may or may not turn the port/GPS off to save your battery power.UPDATE:Used this in the plane and worked great - actually better than another handheld aviation GPS that I own. Accuracy was excellent, and never had any issue with satellite reception, and this was while I had the unit on my kneeboard where it was somewhat down low and not as good of a view of the sky. Nice to know I don't need to worry about having an antenna sitting on top of the panel. So far, this little GPS has been an awesome value.

I purchased the XGPS150A to use with an older iPad running the Hema Explorer app for highway and off-road use. The GPS receiver easily connected with bluetooth to the iPad. The companion XGPS150A app worked well enough to know the GPS was connected and working, displaying satellite strength and battery life. However, I had to restart the app if the GPS was turned off and back on again before the app would update. The Hema Explorer app worked perfectly with the GPS for long periods of time. I used it for a 5000+ mile road trip over two weeks and was very pleased by the battery life and performance of the XGPS150A. It worked excellent on the highway and off-road. The heat of the dashboard was not a problem (100+ degrees outside temperature at times) Impressive little device!
Mini iPad Is Now A Full GPS Navigation
December 2, 2015
This little red hockey-puck looking thing has been awesome to use with our mini iPad for WIFI flight navigation. We use it with the ForeFlight app, and it has never failed. We just turn it on, toss it on the dash of our Cessena, and turn on the ForeFlight app. It has a non-slip backing to help keep it in place, and it easily charges with a simple USB. This little Bluetooth GPS fits easily into a pilot's nav bag along with the mini iPad and other things. Highly recommended!
Make sure you update your OS!
November 6, 2015
Buyer beware iOS 8.4.1 has to be installed as a minimum or any iOS pre 8.1. I had to do some digging as I couldn't figure out why my GPS receiver wasn't working found out I simply need to update my I-pod's OS. After that it works great with my 5th generation I-pod touch. I refuse to update to a smart-phone but I still like to have a device to take advantage of readily available free wi-fi and some smart device capability but I don't have to carry around a giant phone all the time. That being said I use google maps off-line with this device. Don't expect google maps to re-map/ re-calculate like a bespoke gps does unless you re-connect to the internet. I am generally pretty good about mapping my route before leaving and just stick to that. There are other apps but google maps does work with this and is passable for what I use it for. I even zip tied it to my scooter along with my I-pod once
It just works. What a relief.

I consider myself a veteran of the psychic wars where GPS's are concerned - I've wept crocodile tears trying to get this device to interact with that program on that computer OS - then if you change one thing it all turns to crap. I bought an iPad 3 without internal GPS (the Wi-Fi only model it's also called) due to a lack of prior research, and was again kicking myself with yet more GPS related self inflicted misery, only to discover this.I didn't expect it to work. But I downloaded Gaia GPS maps and a different app from the app store just to play with them, and when this came I (with trembling hands) turned it on. It instantly found the iPad, it instantly found a bunch of satellites, and it instantly showed my position to within 12 feet. My joy knew no bounds. It just worked - plain and simple. No confusing settings, no incompatible software, no out of date drivers that have to be laboriously downloaded, no calls to customer service. It just worked.
Super duper GPS unit.
April 30, 2014
Fantastic device! No negatives at all, compact in size, comes with charger, power plug adapter, and a silicone base which keeps it in place on dashboard. Just need a case to keep everything together. Bought it to work with my aviation software and works like a charm! NOTE: "WORKS" WITH iMaps & G Maps, but since those two programs do not download a database to iPad, your range is very limited. Problem is not with GPS, issue is with Apple & Google. Found app "GPS Copilot" that DOES download an entire database (you have several options) and it's free. Problem now, I need a bigger iPad. Anyway, connects easily with Bluetooth and tracks well. There's also an iPad app from Dual which gives you complete status (satellites, battery, location, etc.). If you're looking for a portable GPS receiver, this will fill the bill nicely.
works great with ipod touch 4G and new ipad
July 2, 2012
I had no problem connecting this with the new ipad (with LTE) and a iPod touch 4G.I'm able to use this with my iPod Touch in combination with the iPad data tethering plan on Verizon's network (connecting through Bluetooth) for a navigation option nearly equivalent to the iphone, without having to purchase expensive voice plans or 2 year contract that I don't need. The only feature missing from the iphone is the built-in compass; as long as you're moving though, the software will just determine your heading from a series of GPS coordinates. The app interface with the receiver is informative. I seem to be acquiring about 6 satellites on average; though, acquiring this many satellites can take a few minutes. The returned latitude and longitude coordinates are very accurate. The attitude coordinate seems to fluctuate a little bit, and so-far is untested in terms of accuracy. Battery life is good at roughly 8+ hours, though likely not as long as the built-in GPS in a phone or other electronic device. Though I doubt most built-in GPS chips would be as accurate as this dedicated unit.Overall, this is a very versatile unit which allows one to add GPS capability (or improved accuracy) to variety of devices, and should be a much better long-term investment than a GPS case tailored to the shape of a specific device model.

The unit works as advertised. I am using it on an Android tablet in conjunction with Avare flight navigation program and it is working well.I had problems at first getting Avare to see the GPS info but I mistakingly was using the Avare External info App to see it but using that App caused the Global Sat GPS to shut off. The solution was to use Global Sat's app and NOT Avare's External App.The GPS also works with my Windows 10 tablet.

Small unit
March 27, 2016
This one of 2 GPS receivers I purchased. The other is larger and can connect by USB or Bluetooth. This one may be more sufficient if you're cramped for space. It plugs in directly to the micro USB port on your tablet or phone. The package also includes an adapter for use in a full-size USB port. The receiver updates 1 every 5 -7 seconds. Otherwise, accuracy is excellent.
Inexpensive Tablet GPS dongle alternative to the massive GPS "Puck"
September 22, 2015
It works well. Takes a little longer than I'd like to lock in but that might be software more than hardware. The Globalsat ND-105C GPS unit is very small and as stated uses a micro-USB connector. It does not use much power and was able to track well on my Dell Venue 8. I gave the tablet away when it auto upgraded to Windows 10. Life is too short to struggle with bad software. I use Android and Navagatrix now.

PROS:Small.Fast lock on.Impressive Bluetooth range (at least, with a full battery).Simple to use.Supports a wide variety of devices.CONS:Takes a USB mini connector instead of the far more common USB micro. One more cable in your life. While the high-friction mount is nice, unless you cut a hole in it, you can't use it while charging the device.OVERALL: A great value. Glad I found it

A satisfactory product
November 29, 2013
This device works well. It locks onto signals pretty quickly, and seems to be accurate. I use it with both my Android and IOS devices. The only negative remark I could make would be that it appears to have a slight power drain even when turned off. If left turned off and to itself for several weeks, it requires several hours charging to reach a green light status. According to the manual, the green light indicating satellite lock may or may not actually light up when used with an IOS device, even though the device is functioning. I have found this to be true. I have found that holding the power button down until the green light starts slowly flashing (after the initial rapid flashing) when starting the unit helps to connect with devices more reliably. This may just apply to my particular sample. The rubber holder is a very good accessory and doesn't slide around on my dash. The power button is a bit difficult to press for people with arthritis.
warning for iOS 6 users
April 3, 2013
This device will work great as labeled unless you have iOS 6. In this case you have to go to setting>general>time>turn automatic time to off. Before you do this the only app that will run is the one from the company. After this it has worked normal for me. I write this only because I don't want others to feel the same frustration as I did. This isn't the devices fault, but one of apple. I would give this five stars except for the week I spent trying to find out this small quirk.
Works well with iPod Touch
November 24, 2012
I bought the Dual GPS Receiver for a recent trip to Europe, including stops in London, Copenhagen, Hamburg and Malmo, Sweden. I paired it to a 5th generation iPod Touch, using maps downloaded from the CityMaps2Go app. Overall, this arrangement worked perfectly, and was much more convenient than carrying a collection of paper maps. The unit was very good about determining my initial location, and as long as I wasn't worried about turn-by-turn directions, it was adequate at keeping up with me. It was not capable at providing up-to-the-second tracking, and there were multiple occasions where I would need to wait a minute or two for it to catch up. More than once, the connection appeared to be lost entirely, but turning the GPS off and on again fixed the problem. As noted elsewhere, location accuracy definitely declines as the battery drains, so you should get in the habit of turning it off when you don't need it. Overall, I think this is the best option for using an iPod Touch as a primary navigation tool for pedestrians in unfamiliar cities. I would probably not trust it in any case where real-time accuracy was critical, such as for driving directions. Definitely worth the price.
Used for Golf GPs with IPOD
November 6, 2012
I bought this to use in conjunction with a golf app and to use with Map-my-fitness apps on my IPOD touch. I believed it would be cheaper and should work as well as a Sky Caddie for golf. For the most part this has been confirmed (even though I'm using the IPOD without a WIFI connection on the course). I believed, after reading a number of comments, that it would work with these types of apps. I experimented with several different golf apps and while it appears that the Golflogix is the best, I could not get it to work with the free version of that app beyond 6 holes. The Golflogix app just shut down. I asked Golflogix about this and they came up with several lame claims as to memory in the Ipod Touch and processing power which I believe to be bogus. However, they also said it will not work unless your IPOD is WIFI connected (its designed for use with the I-Phone). So, I abandonded that experiment (but I'm still not sold that it would not work). It also did not work very well with the free version of the Mobitee app, which is the one I finally bought because it shows a satellite picture of the golf course and can be used to determine distance to the pin with or without the GPS. It works probably 80% of the time with that app in my limited (so far) 6 round experience. It also works with the map-my-fitness apps but I have found that if you don't have a 4 bar GPS signal in the map-my-fitness app, the GPS signal bounces around or the map-my-fitness app doesn't work at all. This occurs even with Dual app that provides GPS status showing a strong signal. I'm not sure if this is the fault of the GPS, the blue tooth signal, the IPOD or the app I'm using. What I have found to work is shutting down the GPS unit and rebooting it and sometimes shuting down the GPS and IPOD and rebooting both (I have had to do this a couple of times in the middle of a round). By doing this, I can eventually get 4 bars on the Map-my-fitness app. Also, I have found that getting the four bars on the map-my-fitness app ensures that it works well with the Mobitee app (without the 4 bars in Map-my-fitness I have the same problem of the GPS location bouncing around with the Mobitee app). The bottom line is that while starting out with the device required a lot of trial and error, I now appear to have achieved what I wanted - i.e. a golf GPS range finder that is usually within a yard of my golfing buddies sky caddies and the ability to track my dog walks, hikes and bike rides with map-my-fitness. Total price for the GPS and golf app ~ $130. Better than the $400 or so for a sky caddie with a $20 a year subscription. Finally, I have been successful in using the GPS and IPOD touch for both activities in sequence consisting of 6 to 8 hours of use without the batteries of either device dying.

November 15, 2016
It works when the phone is removed from the case. With a case the USB connection is too short. I was aware of that before purchasing this so I also purchased an extension cable. The extension cable works for every other device but this one. It is a full pin cable not just a power cable.
Dongle vs. integrated GPS chip
November 14, 2015
The product arrived on time, and it was packed very nicely. It contained the USB dongle and a cable USB - micro USB, which was a nice addition. Unfortunately the disk with the drivers and the software was a mini disk, so not much of use on my particular laptop. Since there was no way to install the software from the CD-ROM, I went to the company / product page in order to download the necessary drivers, but unfortunately the download link says "Not available". Luckily the Windows 7 Pro managed to install correctly the driver and recognized correctly the dongle. Next, I needed the software in order to actually test the GPS data, but again no luck. It took me a good half an hour of searching the Internet for a link to the correct software and eventually I was able to have the GPS data flowing to my laptop.Next, I went on to test the dongle on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, since the main purpose of the device was to be used on mobile devices. The software part was a bit more straight forward, since Google Play Store has the utility needed for the dongle to work right away (at least on my Android 4.2.2 version). Unfortunately the accuracy of the GPS dongle is lower than the accuracy of the integrated GPS chip on my tablet. For example, in Google Maps as well as in another 3rd party GPS app, the accuracy of the dongle was reported as 10 meters, while the integrated chip of the tablet had an accuracy of 4 meters. Also, the fix on the satellites appears to be weaker on the dongle (inside the cabin for example it lost the fix on the signal while the native chip of the tablet did not). The reported speed and the altitude were the same though. This test was done while sailing a few miles off the coast of Florida, Miami.Overall, the device works and it does serve it`s purpose if it is used on devices without native GPS chips (like a laptop for example) but it is less accurate than some of the integrated GPS chips on the modern mobile devices.
Its ok...
March 9, 2015
I guess it works OK, but most of the time it is significantly slower to find a signal and less reliable than my hand held Garmin. Oddly, it seems to find a location much faster plugged up to a standard laptop through the USB adapter cable than it does into my windows tablet direct plug in.It is OK for the price and considering the size, but just doesn't perform well enough to suit what I was hoping to do with it.

I've used this gps for aviation, and it has excellent accuracy and wonderful battery life. I have had the misfortune however of it not functioning because of iOS update that left me thinking wtf... Really unacceptable imo. This predicament could have easily been fixed if Dual would make the devices firmware undateable, like it was with my Garmin GLO. Had it not been for my Garmin I would have had to make the rest of a long night flight without any gps. Not that this couldn't have easily been done, but I just feel like Dual through me under the bus that night.
Better Than No GPS on iPod Touch
October 5, 2013
After using the wireless position tracker on outdoor hikes, this GPS is much better. But that's mostly because the wireless position tracker on an iPod Touch is pretty bad.The most impressive thing about this device is how easy it was too hook up. After taking it out of the box, perusing the instruction and turning it on, the iPod found it right away (after enabling Bluetooth) and downloaded the driver and monitoring software. That was impressive. :)After using it for awhile I am disappointed at how easily it looses signal in moderate tree cover. It would probably be best to limit its use as a car GPS or other areas where you have a clear overhead. Also, the XGPS150A reports my attitude as 500 ft--Google Earth reports it at 400. My other hand held GPSs back Google Earth. That's a 25% margin of error. Even with its limitations, it's so much better than no GPS, I'm okay with it. Still, had I known, I probably would have bought something better.
Disappointed
September 2, 2013
I bought this unit because after all that I read I came to the conclusion that this unit would produce more accurate locations and altitudes than the internal units found in iPads. My iPhone regularly is within 5m accuracy and within 5-10' altitude. I know my altitude in Homestead, FL. It is 9'. The Dual says 87'. My iPhone internal unit says anything between 8-15. The Dual is consistently in the 10-20m range.I wrote the manufacturer and they ignored my email.
Used for ipad and ipod touch
August 20, 2013
This product works better with my ipad for reliability of connection. On the ipod, I am able to easily pair it using Bluetooth, but for some reason the ipod still wants to use WiFi connect for GPS location. I even use the same Apps on the ipad and ipod, and find the ipad to be more reliable. Additionally, it takes up to 3 minutes to start up the device and have it pair with my devices. If I want to use it for navigation, I need to start before I want to leave, and make sure to keep the devices together when I get out of the car. Once the pairing is broken for a few minutes, I need to start the process over again.
Work - but with a few catches
June 30, 2013
I'm one of those unfortunate souls who learned the hard way that wifi only iPads have worthless location services. So I bought this to solve the problem. Dual's website says it will work with an iPad 3 (which I have); the instructions that came with the product said it would only work with an iPad 2. The truth is somewhere in between. If you buy this for an iPad, be sure to download the app that shows what it's doing. What you will find is that it does work - and works well. What you will also discover is that getting it to share this data with other apps (like Apple Maps) is not so easy. In the end, I had to reset my network settings and reboot the iPad to get it to work. Further, I periodically have to re-pair this to my Bluetooth and do reboots to get this unit to communicate with Apple Maps. I had a choice: buy this or sell my iPad 3 and buy one set up for data services. In retrospect, I think I made the wrong decision, but it sounds like it works better with other apps so your mileage may vary.
NOT IOS6 Compatible on 4G/LTE iPads-Problem
March 3, 2013
Tried all of the following and will not pass GPS information to ANY APPS on 4G/LTE iPads with IOS6. It does however work fine on None-3/4G/LTE WiFi ONLY iPads. This is most likely an iOS 6 induced issue, which Apple tells us will be fixed, but have not yet been given a timeframe. This issue affects all apps using an external GPS, except the vendor apps (the DUAL or Bad Elf app). The vendor apps "talk" directly to the GPS, not through the Apple iOS.More about this and a workaround on our Blog here:[...]Also, please go to your main iPad Settings, tap General > Date & Time > Set Automatically, and make sure it's set to OFF.Then, confirm that Location Services for ForeFlight is turned ON (you can find this under iPad Settings > Privacy > Location Services). And confirm that Disable Ownship is set to OFF (you can find this in ForeFlight, under More > Settings, near the bottom of the right column. If the above does not get your GPS going, then try fully closing and then re-opening the ForeFlight Mobile app:1. Dual's customer service is non-existent. Look elsewhere.
September 29, 2014
I've had mine for just under a year and the bottom of the unit is bulging outward. It won't sit flat anymore. I emailed Dual Electronics about it three times and they did not reply. After 2 weeks of waiting for them to tell me what was going on with this thing, I decided to open the case (just 4 screws) and see what caused the fattening of the case. It is the battery pack inside that was inflated like a balloon. Of course, no one sells a replacement battery for it and I suspect this thing is going to burst at any moment. It's going in the trash. After I decided that their customer service email was useless, I tried emailing parts department. They replied saying the battery was $28!Dual's customer service is non-existent and the device is rubbish. Look elsewhere.
had big expectations..

Because it will not automatically connect with my iPad mini. I have to fiddle with it by turning it on and off until it connects. Then once it does it does it takes at least 5 minutes before it's acquired satellites and ready to use. Very disappointing.
Did not work for me............
January 9, 2014
I was excited to receive this GPS receiver for my Ipad3. The unit works as long as it is plugged in but without the plug it would not turn on, so I returned it with no problems from Amazon. I have since bought another type and will rate that one when I receive it.
Works good in car or low altitudes

Works good in car or low altitudes. At higher flight levels it doesn't work. Would rate higher if I just used it in car.

Not android compatible despite reports to the contrary. I may even return the device if I'm not too lazy.
Worked for two months then died
May 16, 2017
Worked fine for two months, until it didn't. Started with "device descriptor failed" message in device manager to not being recognized at all when plugged into any computer. Thinking that perhaps it was the USB pigtail that comes with it, tried plugging directly into and Android device too with no success. It's dead and I'm out 28 bucks.
plugged it into the micro usb cable provided. Then tried to disconnect it and the whole thing fell apart.

Terrible build quality fell apart on first use. Housing fell apart plastic surrounding the electronics and the micro usb part snapped. It was very very snug when i plugged it in to the provided cable. Never worked.
Does not work.
May 2, 2017
It does not work as delivered. It does not fit into the included USB cable so that my computer does not see it. I have ordered an adapter that should solve the problem. I'll try to rereview it then.Update, May 9: it still does not work. When plugged in to my Windows 10 machine it sometimes gives the message USB device not recognized. The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it.Most of the time, though, the system does not see it at all.An additional remark: the build quality appears to be very poor, i.e., it's shoddy.
Broke on first use

The GPS receiver worked on my Kindle Fire as designed. The problem is that the receiver stopped working a couple of hours into its use and has not worked since.
If you are planning on using this I strongly recommend using the app "You Are Here" instead
August 28, 2016
I had high hopes for this device since my GPS stopped working on my phone.First off the app that is designed to work with this device rarely worked for me. I was using a galaxy note 3 on kitkat. If you are planning on using this I strongly recommend using the app "You Are Here" instead. I spent several hours troubleshooting before I realized that the app that they recommend in the instructions was just extremely buggy. After I finally got it working I was very happy with the functionality of the device. It wasn't as accurate as the phone's built in GPS but it was great for the price. After a few weeks of use the dongle completely fell apart. I reached for my phone and realized that the only thing left in my phone was the usb connector. I would have given it 4 stars if it hadn't been for the poor build quality.I was really wanted to like it but unfortunately it turned out to be a waste of $35.

I bought this in 2012 to use with my iPad ...
October 18, 2017
I bought this in 2012 to use with my iPad. There have been many iOS updates since then, and Dual has long ago stopped supporting the Dual XPGS150A. The app, called Dual GPS Status Tool, completely stopped working with iOS 11. When I try to open the Status Tool, I now get a message on both my iPhone and iPad that says "Status Tool Needs to be Updated. The developer of this app needs to update it to work with iOS 11." So, the app stopped working and Dual is making no effort to fix it. The hockey puck still connects with my iPad via bluetooth, but there have been many issues over the years. Every time Apple comes up with another update to it's iOS, many users report problems. It's now 2017. Don't buy this thing for iPad or iPhone. It's almost become a doorstop.
No longer works on newer apple IOS

This was a great device with older versions of apple operating systems. It does not work with 10.3.3 and you cannot reach them by phone
Rude Customer Support And Does Not Respond To E-Mail's
April 8, 2015
Customer Support doesn't respond to emails, asked to see if there was a firmware update for unit due to extremely long delay to find satellites. Called them and customer service agent seemed rude to help. Would not pair with iPhone 6 Plus until rebooted a few time and IOS app is out of date. Already returned and going to pay more and get the Bad Elf 2200 GPS Pro.
Not compatible with iphone since iOS 5
November 28, 2014
This is not compatible with the iPhone 6 running iOS 8.x. I went to the Dual sight to see if there was a fix. It seems they have had problems with compatibility since iOS 6. I attempted to contact them to see if they were going to fix this problem and they never responded.
It was not working 100% for my iPad Air OS7 ...
August 22, 2014
It was not working 100% for my iPad Air OS7.0.Switching APP while receiving satellite, it will freeze.Location data and clock were freeze.Clock display time was 4 hours off. I was using this for 3 days for testing then I have returned.
Will not work in an airplane.
August 12, 2014
I should have paid attention to a previous negative review. This product will not work in an airplane. I have worked with Dual customer service and tried 2 different XGPS150s. Both units are able to acquire the satellites while on the ground, but lose lock above 10,000'. Despite a clear view of the southern sky, the GPS is unable to reacquire the satellites while in flight. This is unacceptable for a product that claims aviation use.Customer service has been unreliable. My first phone call went well enough. We discussed the issue and the CSR said this was a known problem with this model and he offered to replace it with the GPS160. I paid for return shipping and waited. After about 10 days, I contacted the CSR (who sent me the return instructions from a personal email). He said he had quit the company and referred me to another person in the company. I called them and was informed that I was not authorized to get the updated model and replaced my GPS150 with an identical model. The replacement unit had the same issue as my first GPS. When I contacted the company for a refund, I was offered another replacement GPS150. I informed them this wasn't acceptable and haven't received a response for 5 days. Please look elsewhere if you plan on using this GPS in an airplane. It works fine on the ground, but fails when you need it most.
