Five Star Reviews: | 69% There are no reviews yet | 15% Does a great job for geotagging March 25, 2015 Does a great job for geotagging. And regarding the price it's a no-brainer compared to the original Canon GPS module. My only minor comment is that it really needs open air to detect the GPS signal, so you use it from your window... |
Four Star Reviews: | 23% There are no reviews yet | 43% Delivers the promise August 17, 2015 This GPS unit is very basic, I struggle a little bit with the on/off button but aside of that, is really easy to use and "delivers the promise" I will actually recommend the next tier version of Marrex with a LCD screen, if you don't have the budget this is a good purchase Marred mx-g10 April 23, 2015 Works well but it takes a bit of getting used to. Once it acquires the satellite the light will stay green. Takes a long time to charge. Charge does not last all day so you may want to shut it off when not photographing. The updated model has a screen and may give information on charge and acquisition that you have to guess on this model. All in all I like it but I would buy the mc-g10m model. If I would have seen that first I would have ordered it. I like the fact that it geo tags the pic and while I am editing in Lightroom if I go to the tag it will bring me to Google Earth and I can actually see where I took the shot. Nice touch. |
Three Star Reviews: | 0% There are no reviews yet | 14% You must use picasa or like software from another distributor March 29, 2015 The unit itself performs well. My only problem with the system is that it comes with no interpretive software. You must use picasa or like software from another distributor |
Two Star Reviews: | 0% There are no reviews yet | 14% Unit took some time to get to understand, with ... May 7, 2016 Unit took some time to get to understand, with only a little light to guide you is not simple. After a while you got it, hold the button until a green light 30 seconds or so. My issue is build quality. I only used it for a few months before the plug no longer took. Seemed loose and the camera no longer registered that it was there. Get what you pay for. That high end cameras don't have this functionality in this day is just silly.Add to this contact to marrex via website to see about warranty, no response. So after the 30 day return to amazon there is no where to go |
One Star Reviews: | 8% There are no reviews yet | 14% Stopped working after 1 day. Very unreliable product and manufacturer. July 14, 2016 I purchased this unit for our trip to Spain, which was long time in planning. The unit worked fine on the 1st day but stopped working after 1st day. I had read the instructions and followed them in recharging the battery. So, that killed the whole mood. I ended up using my iPhone 6 plus to take a picture of two before using my Cannon T4i for every picture to record GPS info. Then I had to spend several days coding GPS to all Canon pics (numbering over 900).It's bad enough that Marrex, based in China, produced such a sub-par product. Now the problem is that the GPS interface cable to camera was bent (another sub-par product) So I threw it away and asked the dealer for a replacement. They informed me that they don't have extra cables and sent me a link to the manufacturer's website. I sent a request more than two weeks but not even an acknowledgement of my communication. I just sent a second communication. If they don't respond, I will be filing a complaint against the manufacturer. So I now have a replacement GPS unit but no interface cable. I searched for the cable couldn't find it anywhere online or in retail stores. So I cannot test or use the new GPS unit. |
