First impressions - wow, this thing boots up fast!I got this computer for my mom to replace her aging Linux micro computer I built and manage/update/troubleshoot remotely. However, it is showing signs of age, and she doesn't do much more than email or write documents or watch YouTube. Her old PC also had a 15" LCD (VGA, talk about old!) since the early 2000s.I picked this up to replace it. A beautiful 1080p IPS panel (in a 22-inch form factor!). The plastic feels cheap, but that's because it's an inexpensive all-in-one machine. The keyboard is nice, and has Chrome OS shortcut keys.The machine boots quickly, screen looks very nice. The audio quality from the built-in speakers is pretty bad, though. Very tinny/soft sounding. Best used with external speakers if you care enough.My mom was able to get this setup on her own without any hassle. It stays up to date on its own, boots VERY quickly, launches apps quickly, etc. No need to keep antivirus or software up to date manually, no need to troubleshoot (though I can, remotely, if need be), everything just works and works well. She loves it, and I get less complaining about it being slow.Two notes:1) The amount of RAM it came with was very low. I upgraded it to a full 8GB RAM, and the machine flies now, and feels completely lag free opening up tons of Chrome tabs and other apps at once. I did *not* opt to do the "cut away the metal shield" on the back with a dremel as some people suggest. I really didn't like the idea of getting tiny metal sparks and shavings inside the motherboard unit. So, being comfortable disassembling things, I just popped the plastic bezel off the screen with some plastic trim-removal tools (the kind you might use for car trim, or to open a smartphone, without leaving marks), worked my way around and the case popped off. The only thing left was removing a few ribbon cables and screws to take the small motherboard off the back, and get perfect access to the RAM for a swap, then re-assembling it all. Fairly easy, and way safer than cutting with a Dremel so near to vital components.2) You can't just plug in any USB printer and expect it to work. I didn't realize this at first. My mom will need to pick up a printer that's "Cloud Ready" and works with ChromeOS. Kind of annoying, but whatever. Factor this in if you don't have a compatible Cloud Ready printer to use with the ChromeBase. :)Otherwise, I love this little machine!

Works as expected - super fast - upgraded to 8GB RAM and dual boot - Chrome OS / Lubuntu - experienced IT users know this is a great machine. The monitor alone is worth the price. Non-IT users will pick it apart I'm sure - different expectations.Jamz

Love this machine. So easy to use and looks great. The mouse made these annoying beeping noise every time I touched it. I got a wireless mouse from Amazon and it works great and stopped the beeping.

Recently my Macbook would not boot up and trying to save money for Christmas I found myself in a bind not wanting to spend money at the moment to repair my laptop. Through my job I accumulated enough reward points to redeem Amazon Gift Cards. I debated looking at other lap tops but thought to myself I should just wait to fix my Macbook no need for another since my Husband has his own I can borrow anytime. I wanted to treat myself to something so I came across All in One Computers. I read all the reviews of different brands but immediately saw how many good reviews the LG Chromebase had. I loved the look of it very clean and loved the size of the monitor. I went ahead and ordered it and received my package the next week. It arrived from Amazon safely and no issues packaged very well. Very easy to put together the stand took me no more than 10 minutes if that. All the plugs to plug in the Monitor are easy to do very simple. Turned on immediately after I plugged into the wall. Quick and super fast boot time. Registering is very easy basically just enter in your Google info and everything was set up just as was on my Macbook wallpaper and all. I just wanted something to mostly browse on the internet, stream Netflix, Hulu, Youtube etc, and play games. I didn't need anything fancy. The Monitor looks much bigger than I had envisioned and the picture quality is great. The volume on it is okay not perfect. You can increase volume from your keyboard and also remember you can increase on the monitor too for more max. I already had speakers from my laptop I just plugged into this so no biggie. Like others said the keyboard does feel more on the cheaper side and so does the wired mouse. But that can be easily replaced. I at first didn't like the keyboard but after a couple of days usage it hardly is an issue. So I would say the need to purchase or switch out the keyboard with another I have is not really important right now. It works fine. The mouse is very light and very clicky loud in my opinion. It works just fine but I did just use one of my wireless mouses. If you don't have an extra one handy don't feel like you have to immediately buy another. It works fine. I've had my LG ChromeBase for a week now and it is AWESOME! I am already planning on buying a 2nd Chromebase for my parents for Christmas. It is so simple to use and with them being older not the best eye sight the bigger monitor is perfect so they won't squint to read on a smaller laptop. I would say it's perfect for all ages. It really does seem like this LG Chromebase should retail for much more than it is. For what you pay this is a great purchase!!!

I love my LG ChromeBase. I looked around for several months at all my options to replace my laptop that I was using as a desktop.I love the size of it and the fast response I get from it. For everything that I was accustomed to using Windows or Microsoft for, the LG ChromeBase has a workaround for it.It comes with a wired mouse and keyboard, but like others who have made this purchase, I like my wireless keyboard with mouse pad made by Logitech better.I love that it has Wi-Fi capability so there's no ethernet cord required, and it is Bluetooth enabled which means that I can listen to my music with wireless Bluetooth speakers.I haven't had any regrets making this purchase. And I believe this will meet most people's needs for computing.

If you use Google for email, calendar, etc. this is a great machine. The screen is big and colors and picture are clear. It is zippy too. Chrome store apps and Google docs are fast and work well. I've used it a couple of days now and have no complaints. One thing to note is that there are two volume controls. There is one on the keyboard and another one on the monitor. The monitor is set low and seems to be the master. If you turn that one up to 75 out of 100 and then use the keyboard volume you can get the sound to a decent level. Besides that confusion, it is working great.Edit 6/28/2014Now that I have used it for a while I thought I would update the review. I still really like this machine. People have commented about the keyboard and mouse quality. They do feel a little cheap but to get a computer for just over $300 with a great screen I think it is asking too much to expect the same quality as a $2,000 computer. They feel cheap but they work great, no issues at all. I took my old iMac and put it on the storage shelf. I really only use Google products and surf the web on this machine and it is super zippy. I'm getting a second one of these for the house/kids. If you're looking for a home Chrome OS machine, this is a great bang for your buck!Edit 10/26/2016It has been a great machine these last few years. I use it daily to check email, banking, etc. The last few weeks it has been acting up. I did a complete refresh of the OS ("Powerwash") but it hasn't improved much. It will freeze at times for no apparent reason. Looks like it is near the end of its life. With Android coming to Chrome OS machines, but not supported by this machine, I will be replacing it in the near future.

Youngest son loves it and plays a lot of Mine Craft on it and has no issues at all. Not the fastest PC out there but works great and has small footprint.

Nice computer. Big screen. Maybe I thought word, power point, and excel programs was included in the purchase. Otherwise, good buy.

My Chromebook has been my favorite computer for a couple of years but I had kept a PC going for work purposes because I had to use Excel on the job. Now retired and freed of that requirement, yet enough of a traditionalist that I prefer a desktop I went for this ChromeBase when I saw it, especially at this price. And am I ever glad I did! About 15 minutes from opening box to complete set up and running. And consider that I am a 74 year old not especially technically talented person. My neighbor with the $2,000 Mac is jealous that for 90% less money I got everything he values in his all-in-one. Certainly there is a whole lot more to the Mac than the LG ChromeBase, but it satisfies me needs well. So why 4 stars rather than 5? I found printer set-up to be a bit dodgy. It may be with my particular printer and my particular network but I have to keep my old Windows PC (which I wanted to carry up to the roof of my 14 story coop and hurl over the edge) turned on and on line in order for my ChromeBase to find the printer in the cloud. So 9/10 of the star off for that and the rest for the lack of a "shift lock" on the keyboard. Two picky demerits which detract only a tiny bit from my overall joy with this purchase. The best part is No Windows!

Had the Chromebase for a day so far so these are early impressions. This is my first Chrome OS device. It is replacing a 20 inch iMac which was used mostly for web browsing but was getting quite slow and dealing with constant updates was a pain.Pros:First the thing is crazy fast to boot and operate. Web pages load faster than any other device I have used. The screen is very good, the matte surface makes it much easier to see without reflections which were a pain on the iMac. It is totally silent which is also nice. Videos play full screen with no stuttering, the screen is a very wide aspect ratio. I'm not sure but it may be even wider than 16:9 making the wide screen movies fit just fine. The keyboard is decent, keys are not mushy and it's about the size of the Apple keyboard.Cons:You have to be prepared for the limitations of a browser based operating system. This is not a "real" computer as it has challenges or simply can't access local file shares or network resources. This includes printing. Our old Brother MFC printer doesn't work with Google Cloud Print so you have to have a Windows or Mac computer on the network you can print through. We will fix this by purchasing a new printer with Google printing support but it's something to be aware of. The mouse is pretty clunky. It works just fine but the clicking is quite loud. I've tried two bluetooth peripherals, the Apple touchpad and a bluetooth mouse. Both worked for a minute or so and then stop. I'm not sure what the deal is but the devices just don't stay on when connected to the computer. They apparently don't know they are connected and go into standby mode. This issue is limited to the Chromebase, these peripherals work fine with Android tablets, phones, etc. The speakers are incredibly weak. Not only is the sound bad, the volume is very low. This is one area that I would say LG dropped the ball on. Easily fixed with external speakers but I was surprised at the poor showing of this aspect of the device.Overall, 4 stars with the sound being the main reason for losing a star. As the only Chrome OS device in this form factor I think LG has a winner here.Update: It's now been a couple of days and the only thing I have to add is that the microphone seems to be useless. There is a constant level of static noise making it nearly impossible to hear any dialog. If I yell into the mic then my voice comes through but other than that it seems to be defective. Not sure if there is a setting somewhere or I need to return this unit. Will check with support tomorrow.Update #2.LG support is worthless. They told me the mic noise was the sound in the room - wrong. Returned the original Chromebase and got a replacement from Amazon. The second Chromebase does not have the same mic problem, the audio works fine. I must say that Amazon makes returns very easy and fast.I discovered the volume control on the bottom right of the screen is not the same as the one on the keyboard. By turning up the volume on the screen button it is now acceptably loud. Not sure why the keyboard controls don't control the overall volume but at least I have that figured out.Leaving the review at 4 stars because I think this is still a fun little web browser. The browsing speed spoils me for other computers. Not perfect but definitely usable for normal home tasks.

This is a review of the ChromeBase, not a of Google's Chrome OS. This machine shares the relative strengths (booting in 8 seconds, bloatware-free, secure/reliable, syncs to the cloud, simple to use, low cost) and weaknesses (modest technical guts you likely can't upgrade, heavy reliance on an internet connection, limited versatility) with other Chrome machines, so this review assumes you accept those trades. If you dislike the operating system, you'll inevitably dislike a ChromeBook, ChromeBox, ChromeBit, or ChromeBase; look elsewhere. My previous desktops have been older iMacs; I like an elegant form and small footprint (but increasingly have used them almost exclusively to access the web), so this seemed a reasonable next step for me.OS preferences aside, this product gets my vote, if a qualified one (four stars of five).Plus side considerations:* The 1080 pixel screen is crisp and bright, offering much more real estate (~190 square inches) for multitasking than a laptop;* It doubles as a second monitor for my laptop, improving that experience as well;* The elegant form seems a worthy successor to my venerable polycarbonate iMac (~2006);* It's not overly heavy, was securely packed in its box, and was easy to assemble.In the neutral category:* Some reviewers don't like the feel of the keyboard and mouse, but they work fine and upgrades are plug-and-play;* The controls on the bezel are a little "touchy" and sometimes need a second touch to respond;* The 720p webcam is just okay.In the not-so-fine territory:* The speakers seem about laptop-grade; plan on adding external ones;* I wish the (black) power brick and cords matched the color scheme;* The keyboard and mouse consume two of three USB ports.

After about a month of use, I'm still impressed as it is my first Chrome OS computer. The seconds it takes to turn on for logging in never gets old for me. I only have 2 cons: the speakers aren't that great for music (and I'm generally not picky about my audio hardware) and I haven't found a way to encrypt my files/folders on the machine itself -- I know Google encrypts the logon, etc, but I'd like to be able to keep even Google from accessing my stuff, hence my hesitation with using Google Drive. (I know, I know... the ship has sailed on these privacy worries if I've taken the plunge with getting yet another Google product but still...) I guess I've been too used to using TrueCrypt on my old Windows Vista laptop. Seems like the only other option to keep your files private is to use a usb drive for local file backups. If anyone has any creative suggestions for safely storing files, I'd love to hear it.Finally, while I agree the keyboard and mouse seem cheaply made, I think they're usable, though the keyboard is the more "annoying" of the 2 if you're picky about your clickety-click keyboards.

I've also had Apple computers in the past, starting with the Apple IIe in the 80s and ending with a Mac Mini a few years ago. I have to say the Chromebase is the easiest computer I've ever set up.It is also a very nice looking unit, something of an iMac lookalike due to the stand, although definitely not the same build quality. The Chromebase is all plastic construction, to be expected at this price point, but nicely executed. The keyboard and mouse are budget items but I found typing on the keyboard to be pleasant enough, with good tactile response and key travel; not bad at all for a membrane keyboard. The mouse is a cheap, lightweight thing, but it gets the job done. The money you're paying is for the monitor. It's a very nice, full HD IPS screen that looks terrific. This is not your father's netbook screen.There is some assembly required but it's well documented and simple, just six screws to mount the computer to the stand. Then all I had to do was connect the mouse, keyboard, Ethernet cable, and power. As soon as I plugged in the power the computer booted to the logon screen in just seconds. There was a brief, optional tutorial on the screen after logging on and then I was up and running.We network in our house using powerline adapters, and I hooked the Chromebase up to an adapter during setup for internet connectivity, then later went online with wireless to see how well that worked. No problems with either mode, they both worked as they should. After logging on to wireless the first time the system will automatically default to that if the wired Ethernet is disconnected.I tried all the programs that would be important to me if I didn't care about AAA gaming or fancy image editing programs. I tested Gmail, Netflix, web searches with Google using Chrome, Outlook.com, Pandora, and a bunch of others, and everything worked just as it was supposed to with no hassle. Netflix movies, for example, stream nicely with no stuttering. I especially liked that I can open the Outlook Web App (OWA) to access my work email. High-end gaming is not an option on this device but performance is surprisingly good considering the specs. I tried a couple of the free games in the app store, like Bejeweled, and they ran fine. I didn't experience any noticeable lags or slowdowns, but be aware that with only 2GB of RAM you won't be able to do any serious multitasking.I also tried multimedia files to see how they would play. I ripped one of my movies to .mv4 format on my Windows desktop and transferred it to a 3.0 USB stick, then launched the movie on the Chromebase. It played flawlessly with adequate volume, as did .mp3 music files.Speaking of volume, you can set it using both the screen menu arrows and the keyboard's dedicated volume keys. I noticed that if I had the volume set to 100% using the screen menu there was an intermittent, high-pitched, quiet but noticeable squeal that sounded like a hardware feedback loop. Interestingly, the noise would occur when I moved the mouse. I found that if I lowered the onscreen volume to about 65% the noise went away (or was so low I couldn't hear it), even when I maxed out the volume using the keyboard. I experimented with another USB mouse and got the same results. Then I tried two different wireless mice, one Bluetooth and the other RF. Neither produced the squeal and they worked just fine with all volumes set to max. The moral of the story: if you get one of these plan on investing in a wireless mouse. Oh, and don't expect much from the speakers, they sound like what you would typically get on a laptop, with no bass to speak of. Sound is greatly improved when using headphones or external powered speakers, of course.I was curious to see how Google Docs would handle Office documents so I experimented with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. All three opened up fine from the USB stick but I was not able to edit the PowerPoint file, only view it. Nor could I launch the presentation. One Excel file was a relatively simple one with no fancy charts, but it did have several formulas like autosum which worked as they should. However, a second spreadsheet with objects inserted (checkboxes) wouldn't display the objects. A free app in the store offers a simple workaround if you need more editing power, Word Online, which is bundled with Excel Online and PowerPoint Online, but even Excel Online can't display embedded objects. If you have to create more sophisticated documents you're going to have to use a Windows or Apple PC. While the Google Docs are saved to Google Cloud the Office documents are saved to OneDrive so you'll need an account for that if you want to use the Online Office apps. There is also native support for .pdf files built into the operating system, and all the .pdf files I tested maintained their proper formatting.My other complaint with documents on the Chromebase is how printing is handled. You have to either buy a printer that is "Cloud Ready" or connect to a Windows PC that has a "Classic" printer attached to it. This solution will be workable if you're using the Chromebase in a household that already has Windows PCs like mine but it won't work for households that just want one simple computer to handle basic computing needs. For those households it's either buy a "Cloud Ready" printer or don't print at all.I was curious to see if the USB 3.0 port on the side of the monitor (there also are three USB 2.0 ports in the back) could power something bigger than a thumb drive so I hooked up a USB 3.0, 500GB Seagate external drive. It took only a moment to launch, and all of the files stored on it were accessible. In addition to the ones I mentioned earlier I was also able to view .bmp and .jpg image files. By the way, I found a "File" app preinstalled that takes me right to the file tree; very easy to navigate if you need to go there.I've been using the Chromebase exclusively since I got it while my Windows desktop sits idle, and I have to say that all-in-all this is a very nice unit. I'm giving it 4 stars even though it isn't perfect, simply because you're getting so much value for the money. I would have given it a perfect score if it hadn't been for the feedback problem between the monitor and the mouse and the difficulty with printing and handling of some documents. Frankly, I think this computer excels at its intended use and price point.

I love this thing a lot. I own several chrombook laptops & now have set this up as a desktop. Because it has an HDMI-in I have been able to hook up my new windows desktop with it too & now I just push the chrome button on the front of the monitor stitch back & forth between Chrome OS & Windows. It is really great to have the best of both worlds with what is essentially an all in one monitor. A lot of the reviews have said bad things about both the wired keyboard & mouse & long-term I will probably go wireless but to be honest I have had zero problems using either one. They both work well & I'm a good typist & I caaan keep my speed up with no problem when typing. The IPS screen is a huge improvement on the 1366x768 screens on most current Chromebooks. I don't yet know if either the ram &/or the SSD is user upgradable but even if it isn't, I think this unit is a keeper. Having a powerful Windows machine just one button-push away is ideal. For anyone considering buying a monitor for their current mac or windows desktop buying this thing instead will meet that need very well plus providing the super fast Chrome OS machine to the mix as a free bonus. Chrome is so fast & safe that I tend to use it to do all my e-mailing, texting, & web surfing & I can aways swithch over to my PC to do Photoshop work or high end gaming. It provides me the besst of both worlds. Two big thumbs us.

Great for my aging parents who are not tech savvy-- 70 and up. The big screen does wonders for them and the kiddos love it too. It's a basic computer that gets the basic jobs done for any age-- emails, Skype, YouTube, browsing the news... etc

Great Computer at a Great Price! I love all-in-one computers and this one is the nicest I have purchased to date. Great monitor color saturation and runs very quite. I have it in the corner of the desk where heat can build up over the day, but the aux fan never kicks on and sounds like a train engine. I have use it 8 hours a day and run tons of task windows and it never skips a beat.

I like it, wish it were faster, but I still like it. The space I save is AWESOME!!!

I am bummed that I cannot get it to connect to me printer or my cricut machine. It looks like there are ways, apps, what have you to do this, but every time I try, nothing happens. Frankly, I am disappointed that I didn't do more research before buying. I thought it was going got be more like my phone, I can't even figure out how to get any of my pictures. I'm probably just not taking the time, but it's time that I don't want to have to take. I love it for checking my email and Facebook and other simple internet functions, but printing and my cricut are important for me to be able to do...

I bought this for my mom cause I wanted something easy for her to search the Internet, check email and print coupons and emails on occasion. Setting up the printer was a total nightmare. I had to do it twice. And the buttons on the bottom right she accidentally pushes all the time and then doesn't know how to get back - poor design. OS leaves a lot to be desired. Great monitor. Good speed. Nice keyboard and mouse.

Really disappointed that this unit does not have an HDMI output for a second monitor. HDMI input???? What good is that??

It suits my needs but when other reviewers said it was slow, they weren't kidding. When I click on something, it's as though the computer is looking back at me saying "who me?", "you mean right now?" , "well, if you insist". I am not a gamer so the slowness is tolerable - but barely.

Slow computer, but for the price, I can't complain.

It is a nice pc for the price but windows 8.1 and even the windows 10 upgrade killed it for me. I had to add another 4gb of ram right when I got it for it to be just barely usable. I don't mean playing games or anything really taxing on the processor or the video card, which is part of the processor. Just using internet explorer would cause stuttering and freezing. It only got to where I would call it a good computer once I blew away windows 8.1 and windows 10 and went back to windows 7 that this became the pc I expected it to be right out of the box. If you are willing to downgrade windows and put some extra ram in this computer then you will be happy with it. I have had issues with windows 10 slowing down 2 out of 4 computers that I put it on and each one had at least 8gb of ram?

I bought this for my 7 year old since he likes to play games online. At first it worked great and he was mega happy but then after a few months it would either freez or shut down. We would have to leave it off for a few days before we could see if it was going to turn back on. Other wise he's happy with his computer and it is worth it if you don't mind those minor issues.

This product constantly freezes and restarts. I'm not sure if it is the individual device or if this issues extends to each of these models. It has reached the point where I don't even want to use it.

This computer does NOT have Windows, and you will not be able to use any of the Microsoft Office programs. The keyboard is the cheapest keyboard I have ever used before. Other than not being able to do what I thought I'd be doing with the computer, it is fine; the screen is a good size, and I like that it doesn't take up too much room on my desk.

We purchased this computer for our work place. The first one that arrived the screen shut off every 3 minutes or so and would not come back on. Amazon sent us a replacement that works. After 2 months of use I would not buy another one. If you are streaming music or watching videos you cannot open other windows with any flash or heavy html script or the computer will crash or freeze completely. The Bluetooth has stopped working and will no longer stream audio to external speakers. The internal speakers are terrible. If you are just going to surf the web 1 window at a time this computer is perfect. The limited features of chrome make connecting to printers difficult. LG CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS and did not help with any issues whatsoever. Seriously there are better machines and options on the market, shop wisely.

Too little memory means it's slow, crashes if more than 4-5 browser tabs are open, and slows to a crawl if you try to do anything else like play music or video. Upgrading the memory is possible but takes a lot of work. With 4 or 8GB instead of 2, they would have made a useful machine. Instead, it sits in the corner and nobody at our office wants to use it.

This computer is great you just can't print with it. Yes you can attach a printer, but if you shut down you lose the printer. You cannot scan with this computer from the printer. I tried everything including buying a new Canon MX 922 that says it works with this computer, there is no software to install and even if you can you still can't scan with it.

Computer is very slow running. I have had it for a year and the adapter has gone bad. I am trying to work to get a new power cord/adapter and the hassles of talking with Dell Customer Service are incredible. I purchased the Additional warranty and they tell me I have to work with Dell and Dell is telling me (after 12 hours of conversations) that the warranty is no longer valid. I am without a computer with seemingly no help.

Great product for the price. But I found the installed 4GB of RAM to be way, way too slow , as there is an integrated graphics card that draws from the 4 GB. I added 4 more GB of ram it helped only very little if at all, which leads me to believe it's the combination of the processor, (AMD E) slow hard drive (5400), and poor graphics chip (Radeon A2) that hampers this all in one. This machine is extremely slow, so much so that I will probably try to sell it and get something else. However, the display is superb! huge 23.8 inch screen at high resolution but the computer is so slow that it does not make it worth the money overall for me. Microsoft office is not pre-loaded, you have to purchase that separately, although there is a 30 day trial use of it installed. For overall daily use for those who can tolerate programs running terribly slow and internet pages taking a very, very long time to load then this is a good deal with a big 23.8 inch display. But, be forewarned, it's frustratingly slow.

I have had this computer less than a year and it crashed. I have tried contacting customer support and also filed a claim on 12/13/16. No one has contacted me or my father. I will never purchase another thing from this company. We even purchased the 4 year extended warranty which will be worthless since the computer should still be under manufacturer warranty.

Spend more and get a better computer. I bought this based on positive reviews after my last computer died but found it to be worthless for an adult. There is no printer or a disk drive to install one. I bought an external drive to install my printer and never did get it to work. The volume was non-existent even with the monitor volume control. Lack of USB ports. Might be ok to buy for a young child for limited use, but too slow for regular use.

It's fantastic for simple surfing the internet, but worthless for almost anything else. It has almost no volume even with my added Bose speakers. Every single time I try to send an email with a picture attached, it gives me a different reason why it cannot attach the picture. That's assuming I can find the picture, which normally I can't. I hate this thing and wish I had just burned the money in the firepit instead of wasting it on this piece of junk.

I'm so glad that I waited a little to complete this review. After having this item since February I can share that this is a terrible computer, even for basic use. I purchased this for my kids for completing homework assignments, basic web browsing and use of google apps. It is terribly slow and not very efficient in print capabilities. I would not recommend this for even basic or even light usage.

I did not have a problem with the Chromebase, I found it easy to setup and use. My problem occurred with the Chromebase failed. I was not happy with the failure but since I had only had it for 6mo that I assumed getting LG to fix or replace it would not be a problem. I was wrong. LG tech support should be called non-support. I initially went to the LG web site a submitted an online repair request after several attempts I finally got the system to accept my request then nothing, not even an automated reply. Since I did not receive any reply after several days I tried submitting an online request again and again nothing. After waiting a couple of days I tried the online chat, serveral times, each time I would get a message stating they were busy but would get with me soon the wait time given was between 20 to 30 minutes so I waited, after an hour I gave up. My next step was a phone call to tech support. To my amazement I got through after only about a 15 min wait and got to speak with a "tech" with a very heavy accent. After the tech confirmed it was broken that LG would replace it but I need to give them a proof of purchase. I was sent an email with a link to use to sent them my proof of purchase which I did then nothing. My next step was to send an email to LG but since they don't have any email address listed I had to use their online email form. A few emails and calls later I was contact and I need to return the unit and they would get me a replacement, they gave me a reference number and told me I would get a shipping label within the next 24 to 48 hours. 3 days later I sent an email asking what was going on. I then received a call but was not home so got a cryptic voice mail message and an email which said"I tried to call you but I only reached your voicemail. Upon checking again your account, the request was canceled because there are no stock for Chrome Base. You need to call our Technical Support Team so that you can be transferred to our Defective Return Team so that they can tell you what to do or what options are available for you. the number will be 1-800-243-0000. "So I called only to find out they were close with no message to tell me what their hours are. I again tried online chat only to find out that the online chat was not working.Bottom line, LG seems to make nice products but you had better hope nothing goes wrong because they do not seem very interested in customer support.

This computer is as fast as molasses in winter. Frustrating beyond words.

I bought this computer with my siblings for our elderly mother. I regret the purchase very much. It has been nothing but trouble! The Windows 8 it came with was horrible! I updated to Windows 10. It worked for a week then had a major operating system issue and would not boot up. Since no discs at all are included and Dell offered no assistance since it was a software issue, I contacted the seller. They were very helpful and sent a bootable flash drive so I could get Windows to start again. I still get calls often from my mother with issues (it won't shut off, it won't load the operating system, etc.). I usually tell her to unplug it and then it works again. This should not occur on a new computer.

Terrible performance. Slow boot-ups...constantly hangs up/freezes-right out of the box. My internet connection is great. It won't even page through a locally stored pdf without freezing up. I bought it as a second computer for my business-mainly to handle orders/shipping fulfillment. Unfortunately, I never made the time to find a fix for it before the warranty expired. I may just have to use it for a boat anchor. It's not much use to me as a computer. Anyone want a shiny new boat anchor?

Poor performance; not a good purchase. Windows 8.1 is worse than Windows ME.

Probably a great Lap Top. Unfortunately we had to return it due to lack of support from Dell in activating it.

Computer was agonizingly slow out of the box and am still trying to get Dell to send a replacement after a month of service and countless hours on the phone. Can't blame amazon for this though
