Five Star Reviews: | 69% love these February 20, 2017 Straight out of the box you simply insert a micro-SD card, mount the suction cup holder onto the windshield, and plug the cable into the camera and the cigarette lighter/power port (or matched power pack). If you want to set the date and time and the various other settings in advance you can do that before getting into your car by plugging the USB cable into a power source. Scrolling through the menu and settings is easy and really don't require the use of the instruction booklet, but the instructions are helpful in explaining some of the terms you may need to know to select the specific settings you want. I would highly recommend this top quality dash cam to any one looking for a way to record their journey to oz accidental purchase...., really like it after all. November 20, 2016 This was an accidental purchase. I was trying to see how much it would cost to actually get it shipped to my address and accidently hit the "buy" button. In the end I was pretty happy though. There are some tutorials on YouTube if you have a hard time with the pamphlet. My only complaint would be that when you start your car the camera does come on but it is in the "pause" mode and I have to remember to "un-pause". Other than that, color is fine, clarity is fine, night vision is fine, and I like the way it stores info. in ten min. blocks. Best Budget Option September 6, 2016 After my big Lecmal mistake, I gave this one a try and I can attest that it is far superior to other budget cams. The suction cup is sturdier and the adjustment is much more simple to pivot. This one rotates while others are on a track that breaks. The camera itself is gorgeous it looks like a super slim handheld camera. It is very small and lightweight and you can make it disappear in your car by putting it high up yet under the rear view mirror. I have attached photos proving the quality and compact size. It even came with its own micro usb connector for uploading videos to a computer. I was surprised how easy it was to setup the device September 24, 2015 I was surprised how easy it was to setup the device. Popped in the micro mini flash card and plugged into the car charger that came with it and it worked like a gem! The day pics were very bright and clear. The night pics we were able to make out the vehicles but not their license plates too clearly. This came with an HDMI cable that allowed playback on HDTV but you can play back film on camera, or upload it via the usb cable or the mini flashcard itself. This would have been a five star review if the night vision was better. Four Star Reviews: | 7% Very good for the price April 19, 2017 The camera feels kind of fragile, and it overheats a lot if you have the screen ON for more than 2 minutes, fixed that with the auto OFF function, the video quality is ok, but you can't compare it to more expensive cameras. Picture quality is very good. Really February 4, 2016 Honestly, I'm still trying to figure-out this little device. Picture quality is very good. Really, the only issue that I'm having trouble figuring out is why the date & time have to be reset every-time the device powers down. I leave it plugged into the power outlet; therefore, it's getting a constant charge. No doubt, it's likely something I'm doing wrong. Nonetheless, I like the little dash camera and will likely buy three more - one for a secondary family vehicle, one for my son's car, and one for my company car. Might Be OK Depending Upon Your Desired Use And How Good You Are At Figuring It Out November 2, 2015 The quality of the hardware is excellent and there are many functions. However, even though you have a 32GB card in it will only write 2.9 GB to the card and stop recording if you have Loop Recording turned off. You have to restart the recording after this. This is equivalent to about 16 min and 19 sec on 1080P. Before the recording starts the screen says you have almost 3 hours of capacity. However, it is possible to get around this by turning on Loop Recording to say 10 minutes. Then, it will make 1.8 GB files every 10 minutes and when the card is full, around 27 GB, it will start writing over the earliest files. So, if you want to keep something you have about 2 hours and 48 minutes to get it off. I got contact information from Amazon and they gave me an email address of the seller but I never got a response. I was asking about why the device stopped after 16 minutes. I had to discover what it was doing by experimentation. Do not expect any help. It is funny that on the front of the lens it has 170 degree(symbol) Wind Angle. It also states 12.0 Mega Pixel F2.0. The instruction manual is fair but does not explain some of the symbols that pop up if you happen to push the buttons on the side lightly. They seem to have dual functions. It looks like these things were manufactured in bulk and then someone bought them and wrote a manual, boxed them up in generic boxes, and put them on the market. I do think for the price it is one of the better units. | 9% The #1 in Micro SD Cards July 30, 2017 When it comes to reliability for Micro SD cards, Sandisk is the undisputed best. There is no question about that. Having used Sandisk Micro SD cards for over 7 years, I can attest to their reliability. I've used their 8, 16, 32, 64, and 200gb Micro SD cards over the years, and not one has ever failed on me. Other Micro SD cards I have bought over the years like Samsung and Kingston all have given out on me over time. Sandisk though, are honestly the best you can get when it comes to Micro SD cards. When I saw this 256gb card go on sale on Prime Day, I snagged it without a second thought. Having had it for over a week now, I'll say that this is great as always, and with 256gb worth of storage, I'll never have to worry about running out of space again. If you're in the market for a Micro SD card for your phone, camera, or any other device, look no further. This is the answer to all your problems. June 9, 2017 Would I must say I was a little hesitant about buying something from the warehouse with its description of its condition being very good. It was a day late and a big envelope with a smaller envelope inside containing the micro sd and adapter still in its plastic tray. When I put the card in my phone it said it was corrupt and had to format to fix it for use with my phone. Easy fix and plenty of space haven't had any issues with it. If your wanting it right away and don't care about saving a few bucks you can buy it from Walmart and spend about 5 bucks or more. This one seems to be solid so far and if it continues to function I will be very pleased. UHS 1 seems to work well achieving nearly 80 mb/s read speeds with a usb 3.0 card reader. October 17, 2017 Adapter doesn't seem to workSo far as I can tell, the card itself works fine. When I plug my dash cam into my work computer, I can scan through what I've recorded. Today I tried using the adapter that comes with it (Win 10, 64bit, laptop, with an integrated slot for that fits the adapter) and...nothing. It didn't even notice the card was inserted. The drive didn't pop up, no light flash, it didn't even make any noises. I tried moving the switch to different positions, disabling/enabling, deleting/reinstalling, updating the driver, none of that made a difference. Just for the sake of troubleshooting, I'll try it at work (Vista box), but I'm not sure what that will prove, one way or the other, I'd still like to be to use it at home with out having to bring my dashcam in from my car to use as a card reader. Bought two, One doesn't work quite right... October 12, 2017 I bought two of these: one for my Android phone, and one for my Kindle. The one in my Kindle has worked perfectly since day one.Pretty sure the other one has something wrong with it. While it is functional, it has *always* loaded extremely slowly in any device I've put it in (because at first I was worried it was my phone). For example, when I first boot my phone up after it dies, it will take almost 10 minutes before anything on this card becomes accessible. Minimum. Sometimes it could take twice that. This isn't usually super annoying, but it is occasionally infuriating.If I format it, and try to use it in my Kindle...same thing. So I think the card is perhaps a bit defective.So one card worked great, the other one is...problematic but functional. It wasn't worth the time to return it though, as I was headed out of town for an extended business trip and needed it right then. Too Many Eggs in One Basket September 25, 2017 This was a great addition to my Galaxy S7 Edge for taking on vacation. I took photos and videos for over two weeks, and never had to change out for a new card. After a few months, I kept thinking I was forgetful as I couldn't find photos that I had taken. The problem got worse, so I made sure to back up what I had left. I put the card back in my phone and all seemed well. However, every now and then, I noticed that my photos all went to the internal memory and not the SD card. Eventually my phone declared the card to be corrupted. Although it is nice to have such a big SD card, it is also a situation of too many eggs in one basket. I contacted SanDisk & sent them a phone snapshot of the corrupted message. They promptly sent me a return label. In a couple of weeks, they sent me a new card. But now, I'm hesitant to rely on such a big card. Formatting Issue for MAC September 7, 2017 I use a MAC computer and was trying to view a video from the card that I took on my new camera. When I put it in the MAC it could not read the card. It was formatted as FAT32 and I could view it on a pc but not my MAC. After searching around I discovered that 64GB and larger have some sort of different formatting that a MAC cant read. So I had to put it back in the pc and format it again to FAT32 and then my MAC could see it. The only problem is now the disk says it only has 1GB space. I then had to use the MAC to format it to EXFAT and now it is 64GB and everything works. Not sure why they do that but it is a pain. Think This Was Used Prior to My Receiving It July 17, 2017 When I went to use this micro card, there were 21 files already on it, most with MILLIONS of KBs already recorded on it, mostly just blank white or black nothingness, one music file on it, so I guess it was used prior....everyone that saw it was shocked.Works great but I'm wondering why they would send out one that had stuff already recorded on it. sd card works but the pyle dashcam does not. April 21, 2017 This item came with the purchase a dual dashcam PYLE USA, the sandisk works great, but the dashcam does not work properly and the one page translated instructions are worthless. It was professionally installed and the cameras sometimes turns on and I have to reset. There online PYLEUSA.COM is a copy of non-instructional instructions. Two Star Reviews: | 6% It worked great for about 6 months June 30, 2017 I purchased this dash cam on December 2016 brand new. It worked great for about 6 months. It stopped working about two weeks ago. It would only record for about 8 to 9 seconds and will stop and start a new clip. I have tried to restore to default settings multiple times, and it doesn't fixed the issue. Would not buy this brand again nor would recommend it. Will pay more for a more durable product. I did not encounter this with my other micro SD cards which are also class 10. It's good enough for storage, but if you're looking for sustained performance (i.e. continuous recording of hd video), you might run into some intermittent issues. Originally bought this for a dashcam, but because of performance issues, ended up just as extended storage for my phone. It did cause the phone to reboot a few times. Verified this by replacing with a known good sdcard and no reboots. After scanning and repairing on this card, the reboots aren't seen often, but once in a blue moon, the system stalls and reboots still. Dead On Arrival June 9, 2017 It either works, or it doesn't work. I've bought these in the past for everything from cell phones, to tablets, to digital cameras.Being a person who is not really a "techie", I can't comment on things like speed.This time, I opened the package and it did not work.Speaking of package.....this package is terrible. May 25, 2017 I'm not exactly sure whats wrong, but file transfers to this card start slowing down, or just flat out fail as they go on for long periods of time.This isn't because the card is filled up, this happens when I am just trying to put 4GB of music files onto an empty 64GB card! It will start the transfer at a solid speeds, but after a minute will slow down to 4mb/s.At first I thought this was just my phone, but now that Ive tried it in multiple Micro SD adapters, and USB card readers I have to blame the card. Works great, but very fragile... May 9, 2017 The memory card works as good as any other without issue, but be very careful on handling it, the reader I had the micro SD card in was a bit too snug, and I had to put additional pressure on it using my fingernail to try to pull the card out and the card snapped in half. Thankfully i didn't lose any important data on it, but just for FYI... be very careful on how you handle this one. Personally I'd advise using the Samsung micro SD cards... they work just as fast and great, with noticeably better build quality. i bought this for my Samsung Note in September 2015 ... Horrible speed that hinders usability. January 10, 2017 I just can't recommend this to anyone. Yes it's cheap and I guess you get what you paid for? I don't know, however, I did NOT expect it to be this slow. I only use it on my phone so I didn't really think the speed would be an issue. I was wrong. Save photos and videos on it is a pain in the ass, it takes a good 5 seconds after every picture before I can take another one. Just today I was deleting a fairly large file(2.2 gig) from it and it literally took 10 minutes just to delete it...it even said so on the prompt. You also CANNOT format this thing as internal storage because an error will come up saying it's way too slow and does not meet the speed requirements. So yeah, I can't recommend this to anyone...even for people who don't care about speed and just plan to use this on their phones because the slow read/write speeds will actually affect you.
