Excellent monitor! Note 1920 X 1080 MAX resolution tho' ...
March 10, 2016
First and foremost, thanks to the reviewer "Sliph" for his excellent input and which caused me to order the 31.5" monitor 'especially' since I see that just a day after I ordered it and with free Prime shipping, the same monitor jumped in price some $90! Sliph, I owe you!Now to business. I bought the 31.5" Samsung monitor [although everywhere, even on the shipping box, it says ==32"==] primarily for my long term [over 20+ years] flight simulation hobby. I was not disappointed in the results. Keep in mind tho' that the lower prices you see on this large 31.5" monitor [as compared to various others of this size or even larger] is that the ==MAX RESOLUTION== is 1920 X 1080. It does NOT get any higher than that [and regardless of what your video card can produce since even the best of the higher end video cards can only produce resolutions that your ==monitor== is capable of having on-board!] and those that do have higher resolutions above 1920 X 1080 are much heftier in price. And for flight sim newbies: don't confuse a larger and even much cheaper "TV" big screen with a "monitor" screen that is dedicated for use on a PC!That all said, the 31.5" monitor provides a clear and bright screen and although it is "curved", it's not really something [at least in my experience] that you dramatically notice but it's there and I consider it an enhancement. Tip: Moving it 'closer' to yourself on a curved screen can enhance the curved screen 'immersion" experience. Anyway, I wanted the bigger screen as my flight sim "center" screen v ersus having 3 identical screens with left and right window so-termed "extended views" and while I do use multiple monitors in my flight sim set-up running off of my Nvidia GTX 770 [soon to be the GTX 970], I use the other two monitors with one as a dedicated NAV [navigational] screen using "FSNAV 4.7" for FS9 and the freebie but quite excellent "Plan G" moving map for FSX and the 3rd and smaller monitor for dedicated "engine" system avionics that I can "undock" and move around to any screen within the system or various avionics that of course can be undocked like further tinkering with the built-in FSX Garmin NAV GPS system. Tip: See the Jan/Feb 2016 issue of the excellent UK publication, "PC Pilot", and the excellent write-up of the built-in FSX Garmin GPS [starts on page 66] and its hidden goodies and advanced user features. Then, undock the Garmin GPS and drag it into a separate monitor screen and it will fill the screen when you enlarge it.I caught a good price break when I ordered it on March 8th [$389.99] with free Amazon Prime shipping so I was very happy about that. No dead pixels and that's the way it should be! This idea that the bigger the screen causes 'normal' or 'expected' dead pixels is total nonsense! You are paying for ==NO== dead pixels, not even one, and if there is, you should return it for an exchange! Just my own opinion on that one. You can tinker with the monitor 'jogger" located on the back of the monitor on the lower right side and the recommendation [by reviewer Sliph] was to choose "Dynamic Contrast" over game mode and then adjust your high end video card to max vibrance . A HDMI "high speed" cable is ==included== with the monitor! The consensus at YouTube seems to be that the HDMI cable is just as good as the DP [Display Port] cable while again keeping in mind that this particular monitor can not exceed 1920 X 1080 resolution so DP cable "bandwidth issues" would [supposedly] not even be a factor in this particular monitor since it can't exceed 1920 X 1080 resolution. So too, the 31.5" monitor DOES NOT have any "stereo speakers" -- it has ==NO== speakers nor any input for them!It works well with Windows 10 64 bit Pro [the driver is not needed since the max 1920 X 1080 is neatly handled with Microsoft -- the only thing a driver is going to do is give a brand name to the monitor vs seeing "generic PnP monitor" in the device manager], so to repeat, it works well with Windows 10 Pro 64 bit version which I am using on a freebie Microsoft update from my previous Windows 7 64 bit Pro. One BIG tip I'll give to "flight simmers" or 'any' game players who must use drivers, if you go for the freebie Windows 10 upgrade -- run virtually everything in Win 10 in the Administrator mode! Yes, when you update, all your old programs will be carried over, true enough, but I found that various flight sim drivers for stuff like the Saitek panels [I have all of them including the FIP and BIP which require separate drivers from the 3 'panel' panel boxes which all run off of a single driver or even Pete Dowson's ==VERY== important and required FSUIPC program, run all those programs when and if you migrate to Win 10 [Home =or= Pro version] in ==Administrator== mode and save much grief!Something else too, let Win 10 'find' your high-end video card driver and it will do just that within a half-hour and without hassles and automatically. Trust me on that one. Win 10 does all the leg work 'for' you and will actually retrieve the correct AND Windows 10 compliant Nividia driver [I use Nvidia only as an example if you're in fact using a Nvidia video card] you need and automatically change over from its initial Win 10 Microsoft generic driver to the specific driver [and brand name video card you have] you need and that will work in Win 10. Admin mode is the key due to Win 10 highly increased security issues. BTW, the Win 10 online freebie upgrade from the Microsoft website is a SLOW process [hours!] so be prepared for that if you migrate into the new Windows 10.So, I'm well satisfied with the monitor and of course the larger area for various "flights" is always a plus and with good clarity and 'no' loss of any clarity near the curved part of the monitor which really is not 'that' noticeable but there are no negatives and everything is pleasing to the eye only bigger and thus more "immersive" by its very larger nature and the curved screen enhancement. BTW, and just an aside, for flight simming, any higher than 1920 X 1080 that in fact more expensive monitors can offer may not even be advisable without flight sim distortion and keeping in mind that the flight sim program 'itself' is going to have visual resolution limitations. Let's face it, as good as FS9 and FSX are in the flight sim community, they are in fact older programs! On the other hand, if you want a bigger 'center' screen and not go broke in the process and can settle for 1920 X 1080 max resolution but where the 1080p assured the high def pic quality, this is it! Enjoy!Doc Tony

Samsung 27-Inch Curved LED-Lit Monitor
July 18, 2015
01/12/2016 UpdateAmazon contacted me within an hour of writing my last updated review. An hour! While Samsung would not honor their warranty, Amazon took ownership of the problem and DID honor the warranty! Customer support and consumer to business relationships don't get any better than this. I truly thought I was out of luck but Amazon came through with flying colors! WAY-TO-GO AMAZON! A++Monitor died on 12/31/2015. 14 months after purchase.Amazon states manufacture warranty as 3 year.Samsung states warranty is only 1 year.Very frustrating 'he said' 'they said' issue.Great monitor for my 2014 MBP. I'm not as excited about the curved display as I was when ordering this flat panel. The curved display doesn't add or subtract from my viewing experience one way or another. I am a computer programmer and stare at this display for many many long hours and would definitely recommend.
Oooh curve...
June 1, 2015
Let me start out by saying that this is my first external monitor purchase. I have been working for three years on a small 13" MacBook Pro. I finally caved due to the lack of workspace.Down to the goodies:THE CURVE--Personally, I absolutely love it. It's very subtle, but is definitely there. I believe that if they made it stronger it probably would have ruined the design as it is not as wide as some of the larger screens. However, I have been using it for about a week and I can honestly say, once in a while I'll notice it and I can't help but break out into a little smile because of how happy I am to own this beaut.PICTURE QUALITY--Although I'm kind of a rookie with screens I'd like to say I'm nitpicky about electronics and technology. I also do a lot of photography so high quality hardware and images get me excited. The picture quality of the screen is beautiful. It is clear, has nice contrast and has very nice colors. I have started using it as my main monitor and would rather work at the desk than roam with my laptop.CONS--Now I want another. I was lucky and unlucky enough to have a few dead pixels on the screen when it arrived but Amazon sorted me out incredibly fast. As a result I got to test two side by side for a day and now I don't even want to give the broken one back. I'll most likely be buying another soon!
I'm glad my dog didn't dial 911
March 12, 2015
I ordered one of these monitors and thought this is great. I then ordered another one and woke up minutes later to my dog licking my face. It seems I had passed out from being overwhelmed by the awesomeness of these monitors. The curve is a truly immersive experience not for the faint of heart. Recommend!
Good monitor for the price
February 6, 2015
Good monitor for the price. Using this as a PC monitor i had to fiddle with settings to get it to look just right. Using an nvidia card i found that the best image quality was produced by not using game mode on the monitor but instead using "Dynamic Contrast" and then in nvidia setting turning digital vibrance to 100% and BAM everything looks amazing. The curve is definitely noticeable and after getting used to it i can see it being very hard for me going back to a flat panel ever again. Not to mention my comp setup looks pretty darned amazing now. Would purchase again and if i had room would purchase 3 for surround setup.

Works Great With Surface Book + Surface Dock
November 3, 2015
I have only had this cable for a few days, so I cannot attest to its longevity, although I had no problems using it to connect my Surface Book (via the new Surface Dock) to an HP EliteDisplay E241i at 1920x1200. I have not tried using it for 4k output, as I am not yet on that bandwagon due to the lack of truly universal DPI scaling, even in Windows 10. I will say though that Win 10 does do a MUCH better job than previous versions when it comes to maintaining scaling on a per-display basis in multi-monitor situations where HiDPI and normal DPI displays coexist. Quick tip for Surface Book/Pro users using the docking station to connect to a monitor using 1:1 scaling: if some elements are still scaling up on the additional screen, simply log off/on, and this should correct the problem on the additional screen. Alternatively, hook up to the docking station before waking from sleep or signing on. I personally like to set the external as my main display, tweak the power settings so that the SB does nothing when the lid is closed, and then set it aside (lid closed), resulting in a traditional desktop-like setup. Throw in my Logitec MK270 keyboard/mouse combo (which also work flawlessly in this configuration) for around $20, and I can be every bit as productive sitting in my bedroom as I am at the office.
Want dual 4K displays with your MacBook Pro? This cable will help you do it!
October 25, 2015
As I type this, I am using two of these cables to connect my MacBook Pro Retina (15", Late 2013) to a pair of Samsung U28D590D monitors. Both displays are running at full 2160p resolution (3840 x 2160) at a full 60 Hz. Absolutely LOVE this cable!
Works Great with 2011 Apple 15" Macbook Pro and Asus PB278Q
August 10, 2014
I just purchased an ASUS PB278Q 27-Inch WQHD LED-lit Professional Graphics Monitor and wanted to connect my 2011 Apple 15" Macbook Pro and 2011 Apple Mac Mini. This cable works without any issue and is literally plug-n-play at the display's full 2560x1440 resolution. I am very pleased to know that I don't need the expensive mini Displayport to Dual-Link DVI adapter to drive the Asus monitor. All I need is this cable. It even carries sound to the monitor.
Perfect Solution
April 19, 2013
I bought a late 2012 Mac Mini with an Intel i7 processor and then installed a SSD to speed it up even more. So, all that was left was to get a display running at 2560 x 1440. I decided on the Samsung 27" LED S27B970B monitor capable of this resolution. Once setup I realized that HDMI would not give me the resolution I was looking for. I learned that I needed to use the Thunderbolt connection on the Mac and the Displayport connection on the Samsung monitor. Well, Thunderbolt is essentially a mini Displayport; this cable turned out to be the perfect solution - mini Displayport to Displayport. I am typing this review while enjoying my new 2560 x 1440 resolution. Don't settle for some other type of solution (I'm told perhaps a DVI-D would work, but why use an adapter and cable when you can just use a cable) - this is perfect and CHEAP! Time will tell if the cable holds up, but I suspect I will not have any issues. If I do, I will update this review.
My Xps l702x works without change at max res
January 10, 2013
Hooked up my U2317HM and couldn't get it to work at highest res with any of the other hdmi, dvi, vga cables I had.Read another review and 2 days later it arrived and 3 minutes later I was at 2560x1440
Excellent, economical cable
October 3, 2012
I use this cable for my Dell U2711 PC monitor. The cable has no difficulty with the native 2560x1440 resolution of the monitor, despite the description stating up to 1920x1200 resolution. The 15-foot length allowed me to be more creative in placing my CPU further from the desk. DisplayPort conveys a digital signal, so it doesn't make sense to buy a more expensive cable - for the most part, a digital cable will either work fine or it will demonstrate immediate problems, with nothing in-between. I was happy that this cable met my needs perfectly.

Excellent Monitor and Vendor.
June 29, 2016
Excellent vendor, shipped quickly and arrived ahead of schedule with No Tax and No Freight cost. Excellent monitor, I'm a tech guy and use my PC for work, internet, general computing and FPS gaming. Once I tweaked the monitor and video card settings, the monitor has excellent picture quality, color that pops, text that is well defined and easy to read. The semi-gloss screen offers almost no glare or reflection. When you're as close to the screen as a PC requires, the curve is cool too. Games seem to draw you in and on the large screen it's easier to scan the text and images you're reading or looking for.I've read a few people complain about the rez being to low. I would disagree, 1920x1080 (2k) looks great on a screen this size. Icons and text are large, clear and easy to read with lots of room for multiple windows. Gaming graphics, photos and videos are very detailed with great response time (4ms) and awesome color. Having said that, I would like to see Samsung offer a 3k version of this monitor. It's something I would have considered depending on the price. (In my opinion and use, 4k would be too dense for a monitor this size). Why only 4 stars? In a monitor at this price range, I would like to have seen a few more features. A DVI connection and at least 2 USB ports in back for connecting stuff like a webcam, etc. A couple USB ports on the side would be nice too. Easy access for a thumb drive, digital camera or phone, etc. (My PC is on the floor behind me so I ended up running a long USB cable and 4 port hub to the desk). While it does offer some tilt, a little vertical height adjustment and swivel in the base would have been nice too. My 24" monitor had all of these very useful features. The bottom line is if you're looking for large desktop monitor with an excellent display, you won't go wrong with this Samsung 32".
Solid Monitor Probably Not Worth Price
June 23, 2016
Pros: crisp pictureplay a lot of SWTOR on it full res w/o problemsspeakers are much better than I expected. I'm happy to use them when I don't have the 7.1 headphones on.Cons: controls are via a "toggle" button on the BACK of the monitor. that's frustrating, especially since I have two of them side-by-side. you have to actually stand behind one of them to make adjustments.heavy compared to non-curved monitors with same specsOther Thoughts: the only advantage to this monitor over others that are similarly as good (but $100 less expensive) is the curve. the curve is cool. but it's not worth an extra $100-$150. the resolution is only 1920x1080. the monitors don't support 3D (something I find that curved displays enhance). these are good monitors. but you're not getting bang for the buck from them.my system: win8.1 pro; amd fx-8350-8 core 4.01ghz cpu; asus sabertooth 990FX R2.0 mb, 32g ddr3 ram; samsung 1tb ssd (sata3); sapphire nitro radeon r9 390 8g 512-bit gddr5 pcie3 gfx.I tried the eyefinity thing combining the monitors for a wrap around effect. it's cool, but the bezel is something you have to get used to, and I prefer to play in windowed full screen mode so I can browse or whatever without alt-tabbing. thus, I don't make much use of the combined desktop. but it is pretty cool to line up two of them. I thought about 3 side-by-side, but I'm glad I didnt go that route. at 27" (diagonally) they take up a ton or room. the curvature does nothing to reduce that actual width of the monitor. so if you're thinking about 3 of them for a better "wrap around" or VR effect, I would caution you to think about smaller monitors such as 24" or even 22".
Very nice display at a good price point
January 8, 2016
I upgraded from a 1080P Dell monitor. I always thought my Dell monitor was a nice display. As soon as I booted up my PC, (even with the default settings), I could tell a huge improvement with the Samsung. Unfortunately at the moment my video card does not support anything over 1080P resolution, but even at that the display is much more crisp and colors appear more vibrant. My first thought when I started using my computer was: "My God what have I done? This is too huge." But after using it for a few days I have grown accustomed to the size and now really like the additional real estate on the screen. As with almost all monitors and TVs the default settings are not very good. I ended up with the following settings:• Brightness 42• Contrast 70• Sharpness 60• R 46• G 48• B 50• Gamma Mode 2• Response Time Faster• NVIDIA control panel Gamma 0.96Please note that setting up your monitor is highly subjective so the above may or may not be suitable for you.I took off a star because the monitor sits a little too high for me. (About 2" too high).
No DVI Connections
December 24, 2015
My monitors arrived and I was so excited. Opened the boxes and started to plan out my install only to notice that they connect by Display port, HDMI, and VGA???? Where are the DVI connectors. Almost all of the high end video cards come with at least 1 or 2 DVI connections!. So here I go, back to the electronics store to find cables and adaptors. Finally got all three connected and turned them on. Picture quality is great. Very bright. Had to turn down the brightness to 50. Game mode looks beautiful on games only but not for text. Had to turn off Game Mode to read email correctly. You do not notice the curve but it is there. All in all they are nice.
Great picture, wimpy stand.
December 10, 2015
The monitor is beautiful to look at, but there are two things that I don't like. The stand that it sits on is flimsy. I don't like my monitor to wobble. If you touch the monitor at all, it will wobble. Normally people don't go around touching their monitors...but sometimes it happens. I think that Samsung "chinced" out on the stand. Also, it says that the monitor stands 17 inches tall. It actually stands 18 inches. I had made sure that I ordered a monitor that was under 18 inches because it needed to sit under my counter. So the monitor won't fit without some kind of modification. Super annoying. Other than that, I love the picture. I also love that it is VESA mountable. I was able to mount my little brick hard drive to the back perfectly.
Beautiful but Possible Panel Issue
July 23, 2015
Switching from a 27" 1080 LG, I was a nervous on the pixel density. This is minor as text is easily read but I had to turn Clear Text and adjust sharpness settings to my liking. The only time the pixel density had low distortion was on internet ads when web browsing; most where a touch blurry but that was all I could find wrong with the pixel pitch. I wanted a monitor that does gaming, productivity and multimedia and this seemed to be a great balance as it has great picture quality, deep blacks, minimal backlight bleed and input lag. Performance wise, it was a pleasure doing spreedsheets, editing, and movies on this display. The deal breaker was an odd flickering on the edges; quite noticeable on dark screens across all channels (DisplayPort v1.2, HDMI 1 & 2) on any device I plugged, especially on the left side of the screen. I did the usual trouble shoot (checked cables, swapped cables, checked drivers, software, adjusted settings, plugged in other laptops and desktops, etc.). I sent in for a replacement and unfortunately the second unit showed the same symptoms immediately without any tweaks. Frustrating as I searched forums and initially thought it my hardware (desktop is GTX 780) but found no solution; perhaps a VA panel issue. The curve itself works in appeal and in some aspect of comfort. I was trying to vet out whether it was a placebo effect on eye comfort but found it natural as this product was originally marketed. As for PC gaming, I quite enjoyed Project Cars, Batman Arkham Knight, Crysis 3, BF4 on this display. Would have easily kept this beautiful display if it wasn't for the strange flicker. It was too distracting in the end. Thanks to Amazon for great and speedy service. Just docking it one star for this unfortunate experience that leaves me looking for the 32" display that hits the criteria I'm looking for.

works well for the price
March 8, 2015
the cable works really well, i am using it to push a 4k monitor in 60hz from my laptop's mini dp port. The only downside i would give it is the plastic shell around the connectors are really cheap, they are hollow plastic, imagine the cheapest piece of shaky plastic you have seen, clipped together, that's what it's like. The clip on the display port is also made out of the same plastic, it doesn't feel like it will break with regular use, but if you are gonna be plugging it in and out regularly like i am, i see where it will definitely break or wear down over time. Can't really complain for the price though.
Good for Displaying at 120hz
May 28, 2014
The cable works. I am using this cable to connect my BenQ XL2720z monitor to my computer so that I can display at 144hz.The cable is good quality and fits in the ports nicely. The price is good and six feet is more than I needed. I was worried that this version of the cable would not push over 120hz but after some research I found that the version 1.1a cable meets the 1.2 requirements and is able to push over 120hz. So far I haven't had any problems with pushing 144hz. If I ever need another DP cable this is where I'd go.One thing to note though is that I think you will need a 1.2 version DP port to push over 120hz. I don't think version 1.1 or earlier ports have the bandwidth to do 120hz but I'm not a hundred percent on that. This cable will work fine regardless of what version port you have. Its just that if you don't have a version 1.2 port you may not be able to increase your refresh rate up to 120hz or higher but you could still display at 60hz.
Works great, it's as described
May 2, 2014
I recently got a WQHD monitor, and this cable is required for driving the monitor at its native resolution from my macbook. The HDMI cable only can do 1080p.The bulge on the mini end makes it a little easier to handle, but I think it is a design flaw, because sometimes those ports are pretty close together and it can obstruct a device on an adjacent port. That's why i gave 4 instead of 5 stars.
Replacement cable working fine
April 18, 2014
My original review was one star, because the cable stopped working after 40 days of use (and 8 days after the return window), having only unplugged/plugged it in about 4-5 times. Kudos to Cable Matters for standing behind their product though, as they contacted me immediately based on my negative review here, and sent a replacement cable. It appears to be working fine, though I've only been using it now for about 10 days. I will update this review again if it fails like the last one did.Because Cable Matters promptly sent out a no-cost replacement, I'm changing my original 1 star review to 4 stars (deducting one for the hassle of a defective product).
Cable Failed after about 6 weeks
March 20, 2014
Started our fine, but signal failed after about 6 weeks and maybe a couple of dozen uses.I had this connected to an external monitor, and would connect my work laptop or home macbook when I needed a dual monitor setup. At first, I thought the connector wasn't fully engaged in the Mini DP port on the laptop/Mac, but then it just quit linking to the monitor. I tried it on another monitor...same issue. I ended up buying another cable from another brand. Won't be buying from these guys again.Update-April 4th,2014After posting my original review, Cable Matters contacted me via e-mail with a very nice letter of apology and offered to replace the cable at no charge, provided I a) returned the defective cable to them in the pre-paid envelope they sent, and; b) consider updating my review here on Amazon.I think that was a fair request and I appreciate them reaching out to make things right. The replacement cable arrived within a few days, and seems to be working fine. Accordingly, Im updating my review from the original 1 star to 4 stars.Hopefully, this cable will fare better than the original, but regardless, I am impressed by a supplier that tries to address customer issues, and I have to say Cable Matters did just that. My thanks to them for their efforts.
Work as advertised
September 25, 2013
At first I thought either this cable or my new 24" HP LED monitor was defective, as the monitor would loose it's signal from the computer this cable was connected with, when switching input from a 2nd computer (a HP tower on one side, using a DVI to HDMI cable, and MacBook on the other side using this cable). Turns out there is a setting in the LED monitor itself that needed to be changed. Before I figured that out, I ordered another cable from a different company that, upon arrival, was identical to Cable Matters cable, and obviously from the same factory. I'm going to keep both cables since some reviewers mention the cable failing after a few months.

Great quality screen
March 21, 2017
Great quality screen. Reason for only 3 stars: Controllers are hidden in the back and no separate remote for volume.
Pricey.
May 14, 2016
I'm thankful that they offer such a large screen, buuuuuut...1080p without 144Hz is a gigantic disappointment, all the instructions were in a different language (not that you need it), and the price is a little too high for me. Just find a 2k 144Hz monitor and pay an extra hundred or so instead.
Good for looking pretty, but not good for FPS gaming.
April 29, 2016
It looks neat, but the missing DVI really throws me off. The refresh rate is a bit off. As an FPS gamer, this is noticable and affects my accuracy, even with the driver update. In WoW the graphics are vivid and gorgeous, but if you're looking for a monitor for FPS gaming don't pick this one.Why would there be a dpi and hdmi and a vga but no DVI? It's my largest complaint. The curved monitor also doesn't seem to agree well with some graphic cards I have. I've used a 660 TI super clocked with a 750 TI, a 650 TI and a 750 TI combo and even used it on a ps4, but for some reason the refresh rate is off no matter what. I had to use an external program to force it the refresh rate.
Three Stars

The video quality could be better, I would recommend getting a different product.
Its ok
September 29, 2015
The Monitor size is great, the curve is subtle but when working in front of it you'll be lucky to even notice it. I had a power whining noise from the monitor when on. I work in a relatively quiet office and could hear it consistently and drove me insane. I also found the resolution to not be enough working from a MacBook Pro, I work closely to the screen and just wasn't happy. I ended up buying a 4K monitor instead.I loved the white and overall look but if you working close it just doesn't seem sharp enough. I had to return mostly due to the noise.
But the seller was wonderful to work with to get the problem handled

I give this 3 stars because a the monitor Kept shutting off while I was trying to use the computer. But the seller was wonderful to work with to get the problem handled

Look Carefully at the MiniDisplayport Shielding.
October 29, 2016
Cable works fine as advertised, but I had purchased 2 to hook up into a Mac mini. You'll notice that there is a significant amount of unnecessary shielding around the Minidisplayport connector. There's so much extra shielding, that you cannot use two side by side.
Works Fine, But Thunderbolt Connector Housing is Too Large
March 19, 2016
Bought these to connect to a Mac Mini and I'd hoped to use two of them to support my dual monitors. Unfortunately the connectors that plug into the Mac Mini won't fit next to one another, because the Thunderbolt connector housing is too bulky. So I used only one of them and used the HDMI port for the other monitor.
Lasted a year and a month. One month longer ...
February 27, 2016
Lasted a year and a month. One month longer than the 1 year Limited Warranty. In my configuration and use, it gets plugged and unplugged once a day as I bring my laptop home from work and back each day. It started showing signs of intermittent connection for a week: I could jiggle it to make it work. Then I couldn't make it work.I just bought another. Too much bother to find another brand.
but for the first 6 month it's a very good cable. This happen me twice (I bought one ...
November 16, 2015
It's OK for 6 month only, after that, the cable start fail every other time, and then it gets unusable. but for the first 6 month it's a very good cable. This happen me twice (I bought one on March 2015, and other on April 2014).Now I think I ain't gonna buy it again.
Apple Owners With Multiple Monitors Beware!
July 28, 2015
It works just fine. There is just one issue I might have problems with later, and any Apple owners should make note of: On this cable's Mini DisplayPort connector, there is a weird "bulge" in the plastic that surrounds the MDP. On many Apple products with 2 Mini DisplayPort inputs (MBP and MacMini), the inputs are too close to allow you to use 2 of these cables side by side. While this might be a fringe case for some, it's a huge issue for me as my two main computers are both Apple products and both affected buy these bulges. Otherwise they seem to be fine.
Good construction, but limited bandwidth?
July 21, 2015
Construction of the cable seems pretty good, however when I used this with my 144hz 1440p monitor I could only manage to get 60hz out of it.My graphics card is a Radeon 7950 which has mini-displayport out and the monitor only accepts displayport in. I read up on the specs of both mini-DP and DP and both are apparently good enough for that amount of data transfer so I'm not sure why I was limited to 60hz. I'll be getting a new card soon anyway and won't need this cable after it arrives but it's worth noting that it doesn't perform as well as a full DP cable.

I wanted to like this monitor
July 10, 2016
I wanted to like this monitor, however, due to its size and resolution, text is blurry and picture quality not so great. I had to return it after a few days.
No power button? What's up with that!
April 6, 2016
This is the first monitor I've had without a power button. Yes you can turn it off by reaching behind the monitor and using the joystick to navigate the menu but who wants to do that? Am I the only person who would like a hard power button? Maybe I'm the only person who hasn't found a hard power button yet?Other than that, the premium for this monitor is for the curve which is not even noticeable. I used it on my computer for a day before putting it on my wife's computer and ordering dual 27" higher res monitors for me.Overall the curve isn't enough to justify the higher price tag of this monitor compared to other same-resolution 27" monitors.
Low resolution
March 9, 2016
For it's size the maximum resolution is sub par, I returned this for the 34" UW resolution and am glad I did. Overall this is a Samsung and a solid monitor with lots of nice options, but as I needed better resolution for the work that I do.
1 of 3 good so far, 2 of 3 defective
February 13, 2016
I''m 1 for 3 in buying. I bought 2 for dual screen use. Love them when they work, but I am 1 for 3 so far (ordering 4th) as 2 of the 3 have gone defective in first few weeks of use and I have had to return. Thank goodness for Amazon return policies...
Above average but not worth the price
July 28, 2015
Above average. Screen is large 23.6, has a slight barely noticeable curve not noticeable when looking straight on. Resolution was average at best. This is an ok monitor, several others which are non-curved, same size and $50-$100 less in price. I was extremely excited to try out this monitor as I initially thought the price wasn't bad. Once I had it installed, I was clearly not impressed, I would rather go back to my 19" Dell LED monitor. I really wouldn't recommend purchasing this exact model. I will try HDMI connection to see if the output gets any better.
Curve is nice, but the rest disappoints
December 3, 2014
First the curve may not really be noticeable to most people therefore is probably not worth the cost, but if you give it a good 10 min of looking and playing on it, you do start to notice the curve in a good way. I look at regular monitors now and it feels weird. The curve is probably the only good thing about it, well I guess the color reproduction is pretty good (I'm typically pretty picky about color - but I think IPS is a better than this VA and still and my old glossy TN monitor shows blacks better).I am a glossy screen person and this is just not for me being that is matte. I was hoping for something different as I've seen some really nice matte finishes in the high end Dells and Acers and this monitor just falls flat. I haven't experienced other monitors at 27" 1080p, but this one just is so pixilated that it drives me nuts in dark parts of the game - I watched the FFXIV trailer in 1080p and it was awful. Then I went to BF4, not much better, but some b/c it isn't as dark. I did a custom setting for color and tried the game mode which makes all the colors super intense, which looked okay, but you have to toggle it on and off b/c when not in games your text on anything else is super fuzzy like you've set it to the wrong resolution. I don't want to have to toggle stuff all day. I played some Dragon Age Inquisition and that looked fine, but for viewing experiences it just wasn't what I was expecting for the money I dropped on it ($329) and I am returning it today. I am sticking to 27" at 1440p.My boyfriend, who prefers matte over glossy, was really enjoying it at first, but then when the game trailers started to play he started hesitating too about keeping it. We both were trying hard to like it, you shouldn't be getting a brand new fun monitor and not be thrilled by it, that is just no fun.And for those who might be curious, I run a custom build computer with a gtx 660ti (putting in my 980 shortly) but my old HP w2338h looks superior in color and crispness. Too bad as I was going to run these in dual setup. :(

Doesn't work with an early 2013 Macbook Pro w/retina display
November 9, 2017
Found out the hard way this cable doesn't work with an early 2013 Macbook Pro w/retina display because the Thunderbolt ports are first generation. Cable works fine on another laptop. Really needed this to work with a 4k monitor and my MacBook. Found a way to make it work with an HDMI cable.
Cable stopped working after 6 months
September 17, 2016
It does its job. have had no issues. Will update if any arise!Update 3/18/17: Bought the cable last September, it just died on me. I went to start my PC one day and only one of my monitors connected. I switched cables and my monitor still works, so it has to be the cable. Worked great for 6 months!
Works...until it breaks
June 23, 2014
Worked great right out of the box...only solution to get full resolution out of my Dell monitor. Until I tried to remove the cable from the back. The little latches are hard to press down, so I pulled a little hard and the cable head literally disintegrated in my hand. VERY poorly constructed, almost like it was not made in a factory. So, it works, but might fall apart if you wiggle it too much. Buying it again to replace the old one, no other options.
Worked great, until it did not work.
October 27, 2013
This cable was great while it worked, but recently failed, most likely from bending it too much.I purchased this cable to connect my MacBook to a 24" monitor, it worked well, did its job until it started to fail/blink, then give a noisy signal.I'm guessing it started to fail because I unplug and replug my laptop into my monitor often. It is a thick cable and I guess that did not help the situation. Anyways, I've had it for less than a month and it has stopped working all together.
Yours lasted for 3 months? Gee, mine lasted about a week
August 21, 2013
It seems this product is really hit or miss. I purchased it happily and used it with exuberance on my shiney new VG248QE, a 144hz monitor from ASUS.Unfortunately, after about a week of happy gaming I woke one day to "Displayport NO SIGNAL". My CCC pops up and tells me that I have a problem with the link/displayport. I swap to HDMI (which makes me lose out on the 144hz benefits for the monitor) and the monitor springs up to life.I read reviews, and find that other people have had problems with this cable dying in a short period of time -- though none as short as a week, like mine has.I will purchase a different cable and report back whether or not it was truly the cable -- but in the meantime, be cautious going forward!
Cable failed within two months
June 6, 2013
Unable to support over 800x600 resolution after two months. ATI Catalyst says DP cable has malfunctioned. I bought two cables, the other works, also tested it in my other DP port to verify no issues with port. Going to have to buy a different brand now. I will admit that I regularly unplug and replug in this cable in order to force my graphics card to output sound through HDMI rather than the DP ports as they take priority. I would estimate I've unplugged it around twenty times at this point.

Pretty disappointed considering I really like the size
June 23, 2017
Shortly after purchasing this monitor, the screen would flicker off for about 1 second. Occasionally this was a associated with a "hiss" heard through my speakers. This would happen infrequently and I ignored it. As it began to happen more frequently, I changed out the HDMI cable, updated my monitor driver. No luck. Once the issue got to the point of happening repeatedly, I switched back to my 23 inch LG monitor and issue went away. Pretty disappointed considering I really like the size, color and resolution of the curved monitor.
Shutting off unexpectedly
December 7, 2016
For the past several months, my monitor will go out all of a sudden and for no reason. It is now happening frequently. Sometimes it comes back on its own, sometimes I have to turn it off and back on. I am going to contact customer support about the defect.
Samsung 27 curved
March 25, 2016
It took over three attempts to deliver undemaged monitor to us. After three weeks we received a monitor that works. The overall quality of picture is marginal but you get what you paid.
Everything else is beautiful. Such a shame
March 24, 2016
Picture is flat but the text is fuzzy/pixelated. Everything else is beautiful. Such a shame. I returned all 3 that I purchased.
This one was a lemon.
March 12, 2016
When I got it out and set it up, I was really excited. So huge!! But within 5 minutes it started cycling on and off, making a scary, loud popping sound each time. I tried another port on my MacBook Pro but that didn't help. This one was a dud, and I decided just to try a different manufacturer.
A little pixelated
July 27, 2015
purchased two, worked well resolution on som application is a little pixelated, compared side by side with older Hp displays.

Stopped working after 8 hours. Returning and don't want a replacement.
May 31, 2017
Must be made as cheaply as possible. Literally stopped working after 8 hours of use. Buy a different one.
50% failure rate
January 1, 2016
I have had 2 of 4 cables fail on me. One lasted about a month, the other lasted around 2.5 months (randomly failed today). I have also had 1 of 2 Cables Matters brand HDMI 90 degree adapters fail on me as well (it was DOA). A 50% failure rate is absolutely unacceptable and I am now done with everything made and sold by Cable Matters. I highly recommend looking elsewhere for electronics connections and cables.
Like others, failed after 6 weeks of use
July 1, 2015
Cable failed after 6 weeks of use. My experience is exactly like California Bill's when he writes:"Started out fine, but signal failed after about 6 weeks ... I had this connected to an external monitor, and would connect my work laptop or home macbook when I needed a dual monitor setup. At first, I thought the connector wasn't fully engaged in the Mini DP port on the laptop/Mac, but then it just quit linking to the monitor. I tried it on another monitor...same issue. I ended up buying another cable from another brand. Won't be buying from these guys again."The difference is that I had this connected to a Mac Mini and brand new monitor for the past 6 weeks and it got about 2-3 hours of use per day. Like Bill's, mine flickered in a way that made me question if the connector wasn't fully engaged and then it just stopped sending a signal earlier today.Very disappointing since the 30-day return policy expired 10 days ago. And, although Cable Matters offers a "one-year limited warranty" on this cable, when you go to their seller information page and look up the warranty information, it just refers you back to Amazon (who won't replace the cable because it's been more than 30 days since purchased). Those are your options. Super frustrating. My only advice is to look elsewhere for a similar item.
Garbage
February 8, 2015
This cable stopped working after a few months of use. My monitor started having issues with flickering and going black. I thought my GPU was going out on me but I swapped back to HDMI and the issues went away. Disappointed I haven't been able to use my monitor to full potential since and don't want to waste money on another cable that will go out again.
Flickers on MacBook Pro
September 24, 2013
I purchased this cable to pair with a MacBook Pro and a Dell 23" display here in our office. Unfortunately, it developed an annoying flicker problem after a couple of months. The Dell monitor works just fine on another PC, so I'm going to buy another cable from a different seller. This one did not cut it.
Does not last. Spend a little more now for a better cable.
April 22, 2013
Bought two of these cables for two separate monitors and they worked well at first, maybe had to jiggle it a bit to get it to connect, but after two months one started to fritz out. Thought maybe just a dud or the monitor, but then the other cable started fritzing out on that monitor, swapped around and bought a new cable and it was in fact the cables. Both wore out at around the same time and only had them for 2 months.
