Five Star Reviews: | 42% Friggin' amazing! June 7, 2017 I live on 80 acres in an area of Kansas with a high water table, a nearby large pond, and lots of standing water there's no hope of draining. We are always inundated with mosquitos. Nothing has worked to even reduce--much less eliminate the problem. I was about to spoil my great view by screening in my deck when I saw this product at a friend's house. They spoke highly of it so I decided to bite, so to speak. I had my doubts for the first week, but now that it's had time to get established I'm now sitting on the deck for the second night in a row in shorts and a t shirt and have seen ZERO mosquitos in the over two hours combined I've been out here. Can't give this thing a high enough rating! We used this along the river where we camp and ... May 28, 2017 We used this along the river where we camp and it worked phenomenal. It caught mainly river flies but we haven't tried it in a residential area yet. Here is a video (which doesn't quite do it justice) and a photo of the number of bugs collected after about 4 hours. Works as promised April 28, 2017 Works better than I expected. I saw all of the mixed reviews and almost didn't buy it, but the wife told me it was worth trying. We live on only a third of an acre, but we back to a pond and large wetlands area.Just before we plugged this trap in there were easily a hundred mosquitoes sitting on our back windows at any given time, day or night. Following the instructions we hung the trap on a four foot post about 30 feet from our covered patio, near the windows in our bedroom where it is cool and shady as well as upwind of the pond, added a small packet of attractant, plugged in the trap and let it run for a couple of weeks. After a week there was a noticeably smaller population of mosquitoes, and after two weeks of running constantly we're down to only a couple of mosquitoes visible on the windows. There has not been much of a change in weather over the two weeks, so I can only assume that this trap is the cause of the vanishing mosquitoes. There are many other flying bugs in the trap, which I guess is a necessary evil, but worth it to me.Overall I'm very happy with the trap and it will make the use of our back patio much more enjoyable this summer. Would absolutely buy again! July 20, 2016 Honestly I wasn't sure about the effectiveness of this product, because it wasn't catching a ton of mosquitoes and we have a very bad mosquito problem. The trick is to find the sweet spot of your yard. I moved it around and finally found a spot that was perfect and caught several hundred the first night. Now, I LOVE this thing. I'm thinking about getting a second one for for my side/front yard, because we have such a problem. The picture shown is 2 weeks worth of mosquitoes, moths, flies and other flying bugs caught. Works great - but some things you should know. February 2, 2016 This works very well. I live in the worst area I've ever been in (including deep woods camping camping) in terms of summer biting insects. I bought the land during the winter so didn't know how bad it would be - lesson learned. I bought this to try to get some relief from the constand deluge of hungry mouths every June-August. It totally works. A few things you should know though:1. This needs to run sort of constantly for a week or so to really clean the area out of everything. During that time you really can't turn it off without releasing all the caught insects from the trap below. The flow of air from the fan is the only thing keeping them from escaping - the spring loaded doors do not work - at least not completely - to keep the insects in. The insects are essentially killed by dehydration - which is cruel... but after a decade of being eaten alive, I'm open to a little cruelty to get some of my yard back. If you DO want to turn the unit off, you can fill a water sprayer with water and spray the lower cage with water to immobilize everything inside giving them wet wings. Then you can pop the trap off and crush the inhabitants... this might also be more humane that allowing them to die slowly anyhow. But if you do turn it off with live insects inside, they WILL fly away - at least the small ones, which are generally the ones you actually wanted to catch.2. This WILL catch all sorts of moths, little ones, medium ones, big beautiful luna moths... If you have a problem with that, this unit will be an issue for you. At night, the moths are attracted to the UV light like moths to... a UV light. They'll fly in and you'll dehydrate them to death in droves. The best solution that I've been able to come up with to get around this is to put some wire lath around the top to prevent entry to larger moths. I did this and it kept the big ones from being sucked in, but the small ones still of the way of the mosquitoes.Aside from those two notes, I highly recommend this device if you want to clear out a large area of biting insects. I hate junk products - this is NOT a junk product. Better than poisoning the air with insecticide November 3, 2015 Very good bug trap. We had an extrodinary year for mosquitos this year and this insect trap did help. In the picture you will see moths. however I looked through the the trap and discovered that for every moth there were about three mosquitos . This is a much better way to cut down on the pest population than to poison the air we breath with insecticide . | 49% Works as well as bug zapper brand but at 1/2 price July 7, 2017 Used this instead of bug zapper brand. Works just as well as OEM (original equipment manufacturer) at 1/2 the price. It does match the shape or slip into the grooves provided but with the double sided tape can be made to work. Job Well Done !!! September 19, 2016 So far so good. I never thought I would buy mosquito "attractant" before. Now I see why. My 1/2 acre flowtron bug zapper is far from the house and has been working all season. It's a blessing everybody should get. does a great job of attracting mosquitos until it is used up September 13, 2016 does a great job of attracting mosquitos until it is used up. Then replace it with another. they lasted longer than I anticipated. Great Product August 11, 2016 Great with the Flowtron. Really attracts the insects!! Please keep the Flowtron at the distance suggested. These attractors really do attract the bugs. Mostly mosquitoes on my zapper! June 27, 2015 This really helps with the mosquito population around here. Before this, I couldn't even open my backdoor without a bunch flying inside!! You can tell by the photo, that there are tons of mosquitoes mixed in with other bugs. Every time I put a new pack on the next day there are like 1000 dead mosquitos under the light December 23, 2014 I'm not sure the bug zapper works at killing Mosquitos without this. Every time I put a new pack on the next day there are like 1000 dead mosquitos under the light... | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 14% Dynatrap September 4, 2017 We have two a DT1775 and the DT2000DX. Both have caught a lot of moths but still a lot of mosquitoes around. It is hard to say how good it is. Hopefully the cycle will get broken and less bugs around but we are near standing water and still hoping it will get better. This unit quit working a few days after I could ...UPDATED 9/12/17 because manufacturer sent replacement August 28, 2017 This unit quit working a few days after I could no longer return it. It was effective while it was working. I wish the seller would warranty the product.Contacted manufacturer about parts I believed I needed for repair, told them the prime return window was up just before the unit quit. THE MANUFACTURER, NOT THE SELLER, sent a new replacement unit to me. If it doesn't work I will change my review again. Overall these are the best solution I have found and we eat outside almost ... August 24, 2017 We have two of these one on each side of the house on my wrap around porch. They are a bit loud if you are with in 30 feet, I can hear them inside my house in the room near them. I didn't have a huge mosquito problem but this all but eliminated them with in the two acre clearing for my house. They are still out there beyond the range and you know it when you out of range with is about 100ft. The only cons it does not work on flies, or wasp. It does attract months and that is the majority of what I get or at least can see in the trap. Spiders are also attached to them because the attract the bugs. I treat the area around them with a residual pest control to control the spiders. Overall these are the best solution I have found and we eat outside almost every night. but are still getting bitten and sucked on. Plus with a pond next door August 24, 2017 We put it out late in the season, so we were already inundated with mosquitoes. It's certainly full of moths and other flying insects. Not sure about mosquitoes. I haven't emptied it yet to get a body count. My neighbor thinks we have fewer, but are still getting bitten and sucked on. Plus with a pond next door, we get a fresh crop constantly. Looking forward to starting the season with it next year for a true test. I do like the baffle they put in it to keep live pests from escaping when you turn it off or it loses power. Four Stars August 13, 2014 Does a great job collecting bugs but difficult to dump bugs into bag without losing those still alive. Great DT2000XL review August 17, 2013 I have half an acre that backs up to a small creek, so mosquitoes are a problem. Bought this dynatrap and following the instructions put it on the other corner of the house away from our patio (still within line of sight). I've had it for about 3 weeks now, and while I don't turn it on all the time, I do turn it about 24 hours before the weekend or whenever I plan on staying out on the patio. I would say that there has been a decrease of about 80% in misquito activity (ergo 4 stars). Most of the time there is just a couple that remain that are annoying, but before it was awful. Flying insect activity is also almost gone as well.I also really like the fact that I don't have to buy propane tanks. For me it was a worthwhile investment. | 18% Effective Attractant September 5, 2017 Combined with an electrostatic device does reduce mosquito count significantly/ Give only 4 stars since there may be something better out there - or at least in the future and occasionally mosquitos still show up. Mosquito attractant flower on ma- 1000-6 works good the first few weeks. August 4, 2017 They work great in the beginning. We kept our insect killer on all day so not sure if this mosquito attractant was affected by that. Can't really discern if these are working super well or not. But there ARE dead mosquitos on it! June 27, 2017 Much like my thoughts on the zapper I use this with, these will never be a cure-all. They seem like they do bring in more mosquitos to the area, and those do get zapped, but there's always more. I'm not sure these are worth it or not, though there does seem to be lots of mosquitos caught on the back of the sticky tape of these... So hey, maybe it is working Works great. February 15, 2017 Saved my live by attracting mosquitoes to the Flowtron and hindering them from eating me alive. Works great. Haven't used bug zapper without these, so I don't ... August 5, 2016 Haven't used bug zapper without these, so I don't know if they are the reason there's so much zapping going on. Have no way of knowing if it's mosquitoes being zapped, either. So.... no reason to complain about anything. Attractant for mosquito magnet, packaging could be better July 7, 2013 They work well, everytime I go to refill the propane on my mosquito magnet you get swarmed. Only thing they need to do better is you can smell the scent from them even packaged up. So when they are in my garage I store them in a ziploc bag since they were attracting mosquitos to where I had them stored! | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 11% Ok, but not great. July 7, 2017 While it does attract most of the flying insects in the immediate vicinity, it certainly doesn't take care of all the mosquitoes nor does it cover an acre. bought new ones seems to be working better now, new bulbs much brighter June 10, 2017 Had item 1 week then the bulbs went out, bought new ones seems to be working better now, new bulbs much brighter. Not worth the hassle to return for new bulbs $15.00. We will see how these do. Other than that seems to be working fine now. I will update later. Not as good for mosquitos as I hoped January 8, 2017 The quality and price are good. It needs little attention. But I had bought it mainly for mosquitos and they were not eliminated. It worked great in the beginning but it seemed the bugs weren't ... October 20, 2016 It worked great in the beginning but it seemed the bugs weren't attracted to the light after awhile. My bug zapper seems to work better. Does not catch mosquito November 16, 2013 This gadget is made with good quality materialBut . . in my case, it caught a tons of moth and some other bug. But it caught just 5 mosquito the whole summer !!I tried adding mosquito lure without success. Now cleaned up and kept in the shed for winter. Will try again next year. Not for Mosquitoes August 1, 2013 In just a few weeks, the Dynatrap collected a bunch of months , Japanese Beatles, a couple of wasps, and an assortment of other bugs. I couldn't see evidence of mosquitoes ( but it would be difficult to see those bits anyway) nor was there a decrease in the number of mosquitos in the yard. I don't think the CO2 is enough to get the mosquitos to come. I stuck on a Mosquito Magnet lure (octanol) but that didn't seem to help. I am hoping it helps with winter moths. I may try a CO2 generator (yeast and sugar water in a soda bottle. But the Dynatrap did not do the job for mosquitoes | 15% smells like it would work August 20, 2017 smells like it would work...hasn't perfomed well with the flowtron bug zapper, blame the zapper, will use this in my stinger nosquito Might be worthless. May 8, 2017 Not sure if the lures are attracting anything more than just having the light from the zapper. Haven't noticed any increase in zaps. Not sticky enough December 17, 2015 The stickie side could be stronger. They tend to fall off the bottom of the bug zapper. Can't be sure if they attract more mosquitoes or not, since they're on the ground instead of up by the zapper. They seem to work well but I do not like to handle them July 28, 2015 They seem to work well but I do not like to handle them, even with latex gloves. The warning label is very elaborate and intimidating regarding the toxicity of what is in this product and the harm caused by skin contact. With that in mind, there is also a concern about what fumes are being put off by this considering it requires heat to activate (heat from bug zapper lamp). Good for about 14 days June 26, 2014 They OK. When I attached one of these to my zapper with a plastic tie, it seem to work very well the 1st night. No good during the day. After 1st night, the mosquito suicide seem to die down. Each day after that, seems to get less mosquitoes. Great for June bugs. After 14 days of this, I attached another cartridge leaving the 1st one attached. Wow, The mosquito suicide started up again, after dusk. Again, after about the 3rd night. Less suicides. That's all I can say about these cartridges. In about 14 days, I will replace a 3rd one in place with the 1st one. I will continue to rotate the cartridges in this order. This way seems to work better. The price with Amazon seem to be cheaper then the store. Because they do seem to work somewhat vs nothing at all, I will continue to use them. Without the cartridge, my zapper makes a good yard light. I hope this helps. These cartridges will work with any zapper, but get the plastic ties to attach them. Two Star Reviews: | 14% The mosquitoes are DYING, from laughing at this. Then they quench their thirst on me. October 6, 2017 Disappointed. Bought it over a month ago for a small 20x20 work shop in Winter Springs FL. I do a lot of metal work in there. I'd always have to spray the backs of my arms before I bought this. That's where the mosquitoes always nail me. I was happy when it came in the mail. I thought to myself, alright you little bastards. Here's your new night light. I hung it in the best spot. It runs day and night, catching a lot of flying things that never bothered me. But the mosquitoes are laughing their arsses off. If I don't spray my arms, I still get nailed. I don't have any water laying around, so I don't know where they're coming from. My opinion is, the only thing that works is the HYPE for the Dynatrap DT2000XL Insect Trap. Wasted my money. I give it two stars, because I feel generous today. I would have been better off with $150 dollars worth of bug spray June 28, 2017 This seems to attract and trap all bugs except mosquitoes. I positioned it 30 feet from my deck and pool. I've seen no reduction in mosquitoes. I would have been better off with $150 dollars worth of bug spray. Works GREAT for gnats and June Bugs. Mosquitoes though....Not so much. Willing to try a smaller unit June 7, 2017 I had high hopes for this unit. I put it out exactly 4 weeks ago. Checking on it several times each week and moving it depending on where it might catch more mosquitoes I ended up cleaning the unit and returning it back to Amazon. It caught a TON of gnats and a TON of June Bugs but didn't catch more than a half handful of mosquitoes. I'm willing to purchase a smaller unit to test if it's a little early in the season for Houston. I'm just not willing to risk $150 to catch a small number of these devils. Pretty Sure This Was A Waste Of Money May 3, 2017 Sounds like chains being dragged down a metal hallway. No mosquitoes in the trap, only moths. Am ordering the attractant today to see if MAYBE that will work. worked great for one season and then stopped working November 20, 2016 worked great for one season and then stopped working. doesn't seem like it can handle the rigors of being out doors in the weather. Controls Moths, that's for sure. September 9, 2016 Seems to attract more moths than mosquitos. One of the two bulbs went out in 3 months. Perhaps there is something better. | 7% DO NOT BUY June 23, 2017 FIRST FEW DAYS SMELL IS AWFUL BUT DOESNT GET MOSQUITOS GETS WHAT EVER IS CLOSE WORTHLESS Could be better!! August 30, 2016 Although they are attached with 2-sided tape, they will not stay stuck! For $5 each, NOT GOOD!! Although I secured them properly, one detached within 3 days. When they stay adhered, they're good - not much good on the ground!! Doesn't seem to work for me June 14, 2016 I opened up two of these and put it in my bug zapper to try to attract mosquitoes. It just doesn't seem to bring in any. And that is very unfortunate because this year there are so many mosquitoes Your best option is to remove any pooling water on your ... September 1, 2015 This is to help draw in mosquitoes and sadly, the mosquitoes are less than interested in the light, even with attractant. Your best option is to remove any pooling water on your property and install bat houses. Bats can eat over 1000 insects per meal. With a bug light, you are just killing off beneficial bugs Also the double-sided tape that they come with to stick them on is SUPER hard to peel the backing from July 23, 2014 These just didn't seem to do the job for attracting mosquitos to my zapper. A few bit me while I was opening the package, but...Also the double-sided tape that they come with to stick them on is SUPER hard to peel the backing from. One Star Reviews: | 19% Don’t waste your money September 23, 2017 It does not work. Most of the reviews were five star people were claiming that it was catching flies and mosquitoes, some people are saying that it did not work on mosquitoes, let me tell you it doesn’t really work on flies either. I had it running for two month non stop. This is all I got. Sticky paper catch more flies than this speedy paper weight. I bought it because we live in the city and keep few chickens for fresh eggs. As everyone knows that chickens attract flies. Too bad it didn’t work as advertised. Should have listened to my wife. Useless. After 3 weeks all it does is catch ... June 24, 2017 Useless. After 3 weeks all it does is catch moths. No mosquitoes in basket at all, they are too busy biting us. One Star November 23, 2015 Did not capture any Mosquitos, they flew around the unit and never went in. Waste of money July 6, 2013 This was very disappointing. It claimes to eliminator insects for 1 acre. We used it on our patio and were still being eaten alive by mosquitoes. We had to purchase citronella candles so we could sit on the patio. It seems to only attract moths. Very disappointed. | 11% I don't believe using this makes a difference July 30, 2017 Doesn't seem to draw in the mosquito's as advertised. I changed it weekly and saw no difference in performance. but the beach so I'm not sure if that is why it doesn't work but I was really hoping it would help with the mosquitos especially June 2, 2017 This product does not attract any mosquito's at all. Or maybe not at all for me? I live in a big city, but the beach so I'm not sure if that is why it doesn't work but I was really hoping it would help with the mosquitos especially because these little irritating things love my blood type. :'( Did Not Work Where I Live October 30, 2016 Did not work to help catch mosquitoes in the 1 acre Dynotrap in the CA Santa Cruz Mountains. Not good at all March 11, 2016 Not good at all. I bought one at Walmatt for $5 dollars that is still working. I received this one not working. The attractant I got with the zapper worked like magic.
