Very effective, as advertised!
December 17, 2016
Very effective at keeping vegetables fresher longer in the refrigerator. Much better than the "softer, rectangular" versions offered by this same manufacturer which never seal as effectively.
Great product
July 17, 2016
I receive this product at a discount in exchange for my honest review. I used to on a regular basis by the Ziploc bags that you can suck the air out of so when I saw this product even though it was a little more money than I would normally spend I thought that if it worked it would actually end up saving you money because those Ziploc bags get expensive. I have a garden and of course you know everything produces all at one time and you're left with a lot of veggies that I would end up giving away because they would all go bad before I can use them. When I would normally put basil in the fridge it will only last 3 days before it wilts. I put fresh basil in this container and 6 days later still very fresh. I haven't yet put in freezer but I can definitely say it works good in the fridge. Even though this product is a little more money I think it will save me money in the long run.
Great item... will probably order more
April 18, 2016
I really love these containers. I live on a lake and the humidity is so high that things go stale quickly. I store cookies and pretzels in these and they do the trick. Just have to remember to let guests know how to unseal them. They are easy to seal and unseal
Great product!
December 30, 2015
Great, tight seal on these containers. You can't take the lids off with out releasing the valve on top. Very impressed with this product. It keeps my coffee beans and other items noticeably fresher. Wish I would have bought 2 sets!
Keeps Everything Fresh!
December 15, 2015
Great set of containers! Forms a nice tight seal & the vacuum sucks all the air out to keep everything fresh. They are a lightweight plastic, but seem durable, though i haven't dropped them yet.

Love it!
September 21, 2016
VERY happy with this set so far. The quality is outstanding, the sizes are a perfect mix, and they're glass! Therefore, no staining or leftover odors when these come out of the dishwasher/microwave and no worries about BPA/PVC/etc.One thing that's interesting is the description of the two options. One is a 10-piece and one is a 12-piece. However, the 10-piece count includes the lids and the 12-piece count does not. So you're actually either getting 5 glass containers or 12. Kinda deceiving if you ask me and not in the sellers favor because if I didn't read carefully I would've ordered the cheaper option.UPDATE - I've had these for nearly a year and I'm still very happy with them. I actually just ordered a second set to have more on hand! None of them have broken (except for one that my daughter knocked off the counter) and I've used them regularly in the microwave and freezer (I microwave cold, but not frozen, contents in them with no issues). I do not put the lids in the microwave nor dishwasher and as a result they still fit like a glove. You just have to make sure they're lined up properly before clipping down the lid.One recommendation is when storing pasta or anything with red sauce, put a piece of plastic wrap between the lid and food contents. One of my lids is now stained because I didn't do this.
Exactly what I was looking for
April 15, 2016
Perfect for someone who generally has smaller amounts of leftovers. I would absolutely recommend this to someone like a grad student. Nice durable glass that is oven safe. Lids fit well and are easy to clean. I rarely use my dishwasher as there are only 3 people living in my household, but I would recommend hand washing the lids if you generally use a dishwasher just to ensure longevity of the lids. The containers of the same size do not really stack, but the smaller sizes nest nicely into the larger sizes. I'll try to include some pictures at a later time.I was looking for oven safe containers that would be easy to clean and microwaveable. I've used plastic containers for a while and decided it was time to splurge and go for something more durable. It's so nice to not have lingering food smells like the plastic tends to have, along with staining from tomato dishes. If you generally have more than 2 cups of leftovers, these are probably not for you. If you do generally have 2 cups or less of leftovers or like to pack smaller lunches, these are perfect.

April 4, 2016
I researched quite a bit before settling on purchasing this set of storage containers. I've got to say I could not be more pleased. Not only do they go from refrigerator or freezer to microwave or oven, I need not worry about them shattering as have some of the newer Pyrex I have purchased which uses tempered soda lime glass. The lids are BPA free, but I avoid microwaving them regardless of that fact as I want to ensure the lids continue to seal as tightly as they do. I read some reviews about the size of the containers being a bit small for lunches and what not, but have found that if you are eating suggested serving sizes such claims are not really all that relevant. I would absolutely recommend these to anyone looking to purchase long lasting, high quality food storage containers.
Perfect for storing and reheating leftovers.
November 6, 2015
We ordered two sets of these and are very pleased. They are solid! I don't worry that a bump on the counter will cause a crack. The covers snap on tightly - and no broken fingernails trying to get the cover off. The three rectangular dishes nest together as do the two square pieces. Two sets do not nest together, however. The covers take up quite a bit of room, almost as much as as the containers. These are small containers, but just perfect for us, a household of two. I really like being able to go directly from the refrigerator to the microwave, and that I can microwave in them without warping, bubbling or discoloration. I researched quite a bit before ordering these and am not disappointed at all. I am glad I ordered two initially.
Good Meal prepping containers
October 24, 2015
I started a meal plan that all my food is measure. I bought VonShef because the price and reviews were awesome. I actually am really happy I bought these. The variety is great and the lids work great. I was afraid to put my cold items in the microwave because of the review I saw but so far so good they have managed to withhold the microwave as mush as I do not like to use it but I do not have a stove at work LOL. These containers are pretty awesome...
Great set of good quality glass storage containers
October 16, 2015
Love my new food storage containers. I wanted to make the switch from plastic to glass without spending a ton of money. These are perfect. They are solid and sturdy. I really like the four side snap down lids. All are high quality and a good variety of sizes. Some of them you can nest inside one another with the lids on but not all of them. It would make it easier for storage if they did but it still works great for me. I would definitely recommend it.

February 7, 2017
Tight-fitting lid. I have sugar in the top one and don't have to worry about any spilling out. One drawback would be that the vacuum doesn't stay for days at a time without having to repump the air out but for the price it works very well.
Good buy
July 11, 2016
These are better than I expected. I love the fact that they can be vacuum sealed. My only complaint is that the pump to vacuum seal them can be hard to apply enough pressure to seal.
Very good
July 5, 2016
works great with certain items but extends the life of everything but not always the taste
Not very containers but good way to keep things tightly closed
June 20, 2016
The containers are not very large so I use it to store things like salt cake flour and salt. It really does a good job of keep moisture out. The square shape keeps make it easy to store in the cupboard or on the counter and makes it easy to grasp.

*I received the product for a discounted price in exchange for an honest review
wonderful set

How easy to work, a simple easy system that doesn't require any expensive gadgets to work. I even use for my tea bags. Now they stay nice and fresh. This is a great set to give as a starter gift.

Definitely worth the money!
April 3, 2017
I've had these for over a year now and I love them. I have never had one chip in the dishwasher or shatter from putting straight into the microwave from the fridge. None of the tabs for the lids have broken off and absolutely no staining from food. They never retain a food smell either, and I'm not the best about cleaning out old food from the fridge! My one complaint is that the larger sizes are still not large enough. These are more for taking and heating up a single serving, rather than storing a large amount of leftovers.
Very nice food storage. Heavy, durable, well made.
September 5, 2016
I use these for storage of leftovers and carrying food to work. They're heavy since they're made of solid thick glass. The lids are thick plastic with a rubber looking seal and one clamp on each side. It requires a decent amount of hand strength to clamp the lids and to remove them too. I carry them to work, place in the refrig in an old grocery store bag because they are so nice looking I worry about these being stolen. At home I have two sets of these since one set really isn't enough for a small home with two people. I've not yet dropped one so I dont know how tough the glass is. Easy clean-up in the dish washer, the lids stack in the spaces along with dinner plates. I've had no issues with many repeated uses and trips into the dish washer or microwave oven.
Immensely strong glass, but lids hold it back from this set being perfect.
July 19, 2016
If you're looking for rectangular, tempered glass containers like Pyrex USED to make so well, this is what you'll end up buying. Nowadays, Pyrex makes their glass from Lime, which gives it that greenish hue when you look through the edges. It's cheaper and weaker than this material. This stuff is made with Borosilicate glass, again, like Pyrex used to make their glass from. Borosilicate glasses are known for having very low coefficients of thermal expansion, making them resistant to thermal shock, more so than any other common glass. This means they're not only harder to break from falls, but harder to break from quick temperature changes. However, you still don't ever want to heat glass on top of your stove...The set shown here does allow for some nesting of the containers, but similar sizes don't nest. The tops are the downfall for this design. They don't nest well, don't stack well, and unless you position them precisely on top of their container, will give you one heck of a hard time to properly snap down securely. That being said, you're not going to find stackable lids with rectangular, borosilicate glass containers. So this will be your best option.
Superior Food Storage
May 4, 2016
This item arrived promptly and nicely packaged. It contained 12 assorted borosilicate heat resistant glass containers, with BPA-free plastic covers that had an additional lining seal. These covers are easily removable yet are completely liquid-proof and can be held upside down with wet foods without leaking. The only criticism and a four-star rating is that the empty glass containers do not stack easily. My wife wanted a set of these because she was concerned about migrating polymers in plastic containers contaminating hot food. The product looks great, functions well and stacks nicely if the covers are on. The glass containers can be used to reheat food in a hot oven or used in a microwave without breaking. If we have problems in the future, I will follow up with supplemental note.
Nice thick glass and tight fitting lids
January 13, 2016
I am the type who would pay more for something made in the USA but was just very concerned about others reviewing Pyrex and Rubbermaid had been exploding on them (I hope they were honest reviews with proper care). I have had pyrex and anchors for years and years without any issue but it appears these issues are becoming more frequent. So I bought these Vonshef (made in China) because they are made of borosilicate and should tolerate temperature changes better. They come very well packaged and there were 12 glass containers and 12 lids. The lids do seem to snap shut tight. I added water and turned upside down with the lids and thwy did jot leak. There is a ring in the lid that can be removed easily to wash (they thought that part out as there is a dip in one side so you can grasp the ring). The smaller dishes fit into the bigger ones with the lids on. BUT the same size glasses DO NOT sit nicely in each other. I just received these today and as of now I am very impressed and think I will love them. Will update review if I become less impressed.****I knocked off a star because no where in the packaging or on the products themselves do they list what is safe usage. I think that's pretty important****
Great product
December 31, 2015
I really like these glass food storage containers. They come in great sizes and I don't worry when I heat them up at work in the microwave. I was getting concerned about repeated microwaving of the plastic containers I had been using and thought it time for a change. I would buy them again, but I am taking off one star because the lids don't always seat perfectly and you need to wiggle them around a bit to seat them. Seems like with a softer gasket or deeper channel in the lid, this could easily have been fixed. The reason this is important is that if the lid is not seated and locked down perfectly, it may come off, which would be a disaster if you were transporting a messy meal.

Good for Very Short Term Vacuum Storage
December 9, 2015
I have been using a wine pumping system for years, which works very well. When I saw that this food storage system used the same method, I figured it would be just as good.

UPDATE: It was holding a vacuum for only days or hours. I checked the valves, the rubber seals and the rims of the containers, and found some minor debris upon closer inspection. I thoroughly cleaned everything and tried again. The large one held a vacuum for almost a week. The smaller ones were opened (to access contents) in that time, so I cannot say how long they would have held a vacuum. Because of the inability of the large one to hold a longer term vacuum, I changed my rating from 5 stars to 3.

I do like the ones that haven't fallen apart
May 19, 2017
One of the seals on one of the lids came loose. That just seems to be a possibility with this product design. However, while it isn't extremely difficult to reattach it, the burden shouldn't occur in the first place. I do like the ones that haven't fallen apart.
seems like they will break easily
December 26, 2016
The glass is thinner, seems like they will break easily. I also noticed that they are all so small! even the largest size is too small for lunches or leftovers.

November 4, 2015
It'll do the job, and the glass is sturdy. My only problem was when I first opened on of the glass containers, the rubber lining/tube that actually creates the seal for the container fell off. You can put it back on, but it's a hassle and a little annoying.

Does not hold seal
June 12, 2016
So after purchasing these vacuum containers I figured I would put things I wanted fresh in them that would instead become somewhat stale over time, mostly coffee. After using them as instructed by the manual I found that they lose their negative pressure in less than 24 hours. If you lift the tab in the middle as soon as you seal them you can hear the air come in. after about an hour all 3 do not do this anymore..
Poor plastics!

Had a chip after the first wash in a dishwasher
March 27, 2016
VonShef 12-Piece Glass Container Food Storage Set Bought these containers on March 13, 2016 and used them once for a meal prep for a week (wash by hand first). One of the largest containers had a chip after its first wash in the dishwasher yesterday. Other glass containers I had for about 2-5 years (3 different brands) did not have a single chip/scratch over the years. Plus, these containers are on a smaller side. Good portion size for women but men would need two of these for lunch.

Beware: Not For Microwaves, Ovens, and Freezers!
October 31, 2016
Was very excited to find a glass container set made with borosilicate glass. However, no where on the packaging or instruction does it mentioned "borosilicate". More concerning was the included glass care instruction sheet indicating that I shouldn't put these in the microwaves, ovens, or freezers. I compared this set to the PopIt glass set I had purchased (at a higher price) and found that this VonShef set is not as clear as the PopIt; it has a slight greenish hue, which considering the included instruction I now dout if the product is indeed made of borosilicate glass.
