Great for kids interested in volcanoes and geology
January 18, 2017
Great for kids interested in volcanoes and geology. You need batteries and ingredients such as bicarbonate soda, vinegar, red food dye and dishwashing liquid. I bought this set because it provides for 2 types of volcanoes and can be reused over and ovet as long as you have the ingredients.
good quality, includes stencils and marker

Bought this for Christmas for my son. He really loves it, the only thing is that I wish that you would've included two markers we've already went through the first. We haven't tested the "night vision" yet, my son has been pre occupied with finding Dino tracks!

Bought 4 of these for Christmas. 2 for my kids and 2 for other family members. All 4 boys love them!! The clear marker that comes with it, actually is clear, so i let them draw on the inside of their closet walls. Fun for sleep overs!!

Great goggles, they work awesome and allow to see pretty far outside in complete darkness, I think I measured a little over 200 yards. Then inside their performance is just as good, making a room pitch black glow green and everything being visible.
Absolutely great product!

Absolutely great product!!! We used it right away and was amazed how much detail it picked up in utter darkness. We took it on vacation and was impressed with how much we could see in the woods! The focus, lighting and overall fitting was excellent!!! I recommend this product to my friends and relatives.

August 26, 2014
These goggles are are way better than the PVS-Whatevers that the Army issued to us in the early '80s, and those were considered 1st generation. This product has very good visual acuity out to 100+ meters with very little "snow". It is very easy to focus. I did find the Head-web to be uncomfortable around the ears due to the V-strap construction being to short for and adult size head, this is easily overcome with a cloth skull cap that has ear flaps like military helicopter pilots use.I believe these goggles are worth every dime.
Lot more than i expected
October 1, 2013
Very nice ...only2 flaws I have with it is that in the left optic there is a little starburst effect ..I haven't contacted seller yet about the issue. and the other issue is the power button and ir button can be tricky to turn on and off ..other than that love it.. it makes nighttime into daytime
Better than expected.
May 26, 2011
When I first turned it on, I could see inside my dark room, then I when I removed the lens covers the ability to see increased like somebody had turned on a bright light. For a binocular pair I expected it to be seeing everything from the point of view from a distance, nope these binoculars allowed me to see just like normal seeing distance, I could even read a book with them. However when I went outside later that day, it was even better, I didn't expect the IR illuiminator to see that far into the woods, it was a good acre and half. Everything even seemed clearer than when I was in my room with the lights off, I guess cause everything was closer. When I looked at signs and our cars, I could read everything. There's another button on it, still trying to figure out what it does. For around $500, this Nite-Vision is way cheaper than a Thermal-Imager, but just as effective. I will enjoy hunting with this awesome gadget.I wear glasses, but there are these adjustments on the bottom, that allowed me to focus it so that I could see picture perfect in the dark without my glasses.*****************************************************************************OK, so it's been some time since I originally posted this, it's 9/2012 now,and one thing that needs to be known, when trying to navigate in deep brush, the IR light reflects off of leaves, shining back at you making it hard to see. Now in open areas it's not a problem.

Nice goggles. Little more on the heavy side
November 3, 2015
Nice goggles. Little more on the heavy side. Doesn't have full in closure around eyes when on head set. Will throw equilibrium off when trying to reach for the things in front of you. All in all you can see quite far in the dark. With a little light present it's more clearer. Helped get me to hunting location once I got used to the distance in front of me.

August 1, 2015
This is a good product, as long as you remember that you shouldn't expect Gen II or III performance from this unit. Vision/detail without infrared illum is adequate out to around 25-30 yards under ambient starlight or moonlight. Field of vision is very limited and can initially lead to a feeling of tunnel vision until you get used to it. Battery life is great, even if using the infrared and the battery can be replaced easily without tools, however it is a CR123 battery, so they are a bit more expensive. The head gear is also adequate and does function ok once you adjust it to your head. However, unless you have a tiny head, you will have to remove the chin strap, because while the rest of the straps adjust for larger heads, the chin strap does not.In conclusion, if you are looking for a night vision unit for self-defense capability, you should probably get at least a Gen II, unless this is what you can afford. This unit is definitely way better than nothing in a tactical situation and for hunting purposes at moderate distances, it should work just fine. Overall quality is good and as long as you treat it nice, don't abuse it or shine bright lights into the lenses(damages Gen I tubes), it should work well for years.
Some NV is better than no NV
December 24, 2014
Ok for the price it's solid. You get what you pay for. It's better than no night vision but if you are expecting super bright clear night vision you will be disappointed. Battery life is very decent.
Twenty five years experience with NOD's.
December 14, 2014
I've read others reviews on this item and have to say these are very nice nvg. With twenty five years experience in owning night vision equipment this is a nice item and it is not a novelty toy. To speak about the nod itself it has rubberized coating to aid in grip handling, and to absorb impact maybe a little weather resistance. The folding lens caps seem to work well I can see if you were rushing through the brush they could get damaged possibly. The visual side has a nice face fitting rubber like shroud that allows viewing through the nod when in use. The on/off switch and ir illuminator switch are covered in a thick rubber cover that requires a little more pressure to manipulate but that should be expected to ensure adequate weather resistance. Battery compartment is easy to access with no chance of accidental opening since it screws into place. Focus knob is easy to control while using with headset and stays in focus through rough use. Individual diopter focus are simple to adjust just close one eye adjust the open eye into focus then do the same for the other eye then use the main focus to bring both sight pictures into focus simple easy. Now to speak about the Gen one nv technology. In summary the newer gen one devices perform as well or better than gen two say twenty years ago do in part to nicer phosphorus screens the sight picture is displayed on. Any gen two device will cost twice as much at least to own. Performance on a cloudy dark night with the IR illuminator on range is in the 50-75 yards. On a semi clear night with about a quarter moon you can expect the same performance without the illuminator on. Semi cloudy night with a near full moon shining the rang increases to 150-175 yards with enough clarity to see rabbits in a field. Full shining moon and clear starry night I've seen deer at 250 yards enough to see antlers or whether they we're does. Using this nod around the home for security or surveillance is perfect the viewing picture is adequate if you have any experience with nods they dont have the sight picture as binoculars used in the day. Routinely I've walked around my home using these and I can see in even the darkest places behind the barn with ease, places you absolutely can not see without artificial light. Now to speak of the head set well once it is properly adjusted it is a very secure system, not the most comfortable at first but with repeated wearing it will conform more to your size and does get more comfortable the more it's used. I really like the push button swing up latch it is very secure and repetitive to returning to zero lets say once it's sighted in. For size I'm 6'2" and 285 so I have as one might call a full face...lol. This head gear has more adjustment to fit some even larger than me, which makes it nice for me because now that it's cold I wear mine with an under armour balaclava.IMHO these will not make it in any military spec ops gear supply but they are darn nice nvg for civilian home protection , night hunting, or just plain fun cool to have. Properly focused, properly used, properly adjusted these are the best bang for your buck in my twenty five years of using night vision devices. Your getting a great image for what used to cost more than double.
Good goggles
July 11, 2014
These night-vision goggles are easy to use and have great clarity in the dark. The head straps allows hands free usage. My only concern is that I can't wear them with my glasses--not that I need my regular glasses on in order to see with the goggles, but I need to carry my regular glasses to put back on when I remove the night vision goggles.
Excellent goggles for the price.
February 19, 2014
Love the goggles - they have excellent resolution and clarity. The head mount system fit tight and had enough adjustment to be comfortable and stable. Only issue I had was fogging, which could have been due to being too tight to my face? Other than that, I have no complaints. Love them. I also have the Yukon 1x24 monocular, which I actually like even more than these.

Decent unit, but still some nagging letdowns.
February 19, 2016
Overall Recommendation: Not bad but you'd be better off with a monocularSo I enjoy hiking a night, and a pair of NVGs with a headmount sounded perfect. Not to mention the very reasonable price, it's hard to go wrong right?Performance: Pretty good for Gen 1, not hard to make out humanoid shapes @ ~75-100 yards. The IR light isn't the best but still does a very good job at illuminating objects up to 20 yards or so out. It's reasonably easy to adjust the focus in a couple of seconds (assuming your hands are free and aren't wearing gloves, otherwise forget it).Field of View: It's normal to be a little disoriented while wearing these and navigating around, considering your eyes are now several inches in front of your face. But the FoV is lacking to really do more than move around on open ground, and walking through a wooded area isn't impossible but it's hard to do so comfortably. You'll probably want to just turn these on every minute or so just to confirm whats around you and flip them back up.Battery life: ~1 hour with the IR light on, maybe 3ish with it off. Not ideal for much more than short uses unless you plan to carry spare batteries. Then again I use rechargeable, so your experience might be a little better.Weight and headmount viability: ... Ehhhh, it's a little heavy. And that doesn't bug me to be honest. But I do notice that the headmount is a little too rigid around the front and sides of the head, and can be uncomfortable to wear for prolonged periods. If you have a weird headsize, don't really bother with the mount. To be honest, I think I would have been better off by far with the monocular version. Being able to use the NV while still not being disabled from navigating my surroundings (assuming a 'little' light is still available) would have been preferred, as I think the FoV is just too limited to be of real use while moving with these. I would have liked a longer battery life, but that's once again partially my fault for the expectations. They're not a bad pair of goggles by any means. But if I had the choice to buy them again, I personally wouldn't.
adequate
December 3, 2014
best you can say for these is that they are all right for the cost -but barely so. they feel cheaply made and the imagery is poor out beyond say 50 feet, but they are adequate for closer in work where you don't want to risk more expensive equipment
Solid unit for the price
July 24, 2014
Didn't seem that heavy when I picked them up, but they sure weigh on you after awhile. There was no issue with illumination either with or without the assist of the IR batteries. And I will also mention that I accidentally left them on all night long and the batteries were still going. By the way, it doesn't come with batteries, so be prepared to buy some expensive 3-volts.My only complaint, and the reason I didn't rate it higher is because the field of vision was sort of fish-eyed, which made walking through the woods awkward.
Good NVG's
January 6, 2014
Great for the armature. They are a little fuzzy and awkward to use. They fog up very easy. They are fun for the price.
Tunnel Vision
December 15, 2013
The 30 degree field of view of the Yukon NV 1x24 goggles is quite narrow. It gives a tunnel vision effect. The lenses are focused individually on each side and collectively via a central focus knob. Once focused, the image quality is not bad, but tends to be a little blurry around the edges. The collective focus has to be adjusted from time to time depending on how far out you are looking. Wearing over glasses would not be a viable option because your eyes have to be close to the lenses for best field of view. The weight of the goggles is a bit too heavy for a head mounted goggle. Used by hand like binoculars, the weight is not a problem. I used these with a Streamlight IR flashlight, which was great and allowed me to see much farther than the built in IR light would allow. As far as the performance, they make a huge difference in what you can see at night, especially with the help of a separate IR flashlight. I decided to return these mainly because of the tunnel vision effect and the weight. I may try a pair of AN/PVS-7B goggles. They're a lot more money but offer gen 3 and 40 deg field of view.
The optics were okay, but the head mount didn't work out for me
October 22, 2013
The optics were okay for a Gen 1 system and actually a little better than I expected. I can't vouch for battery life as I only used these for about 5mins due to the fact that I couldn't get the head mount to work for me. I didn't necessarily expect it to be super comfortable, but I did expect it to allow the goggle to fit flush to my eyes. Unfortunately there wasn't adequate adjustment to allow the goggles to fit properly and thus impaired my field of view.

Cool concept poor design.
May 14, 2016
I think they missed the target audience with this. We were trying to use it with our 3 yr old. While the concept of searching for magical dinosaur footprint appeals to a younger age, the size is not really designed for smaller heads. The elastic slipped alot, and the cams were not tight at all. The overall all design of separating the battery pack to the back seems to be the issue. I have 2 or 3 headlights that I use with button cell batteries that are less complex and bulky. It does do the trick for the "official" dino hunter goggle for the kiddos. but I found myself always helping to put on, then readjust after it slips etc. We ended up tying a knot in the elastic to keep tight, but even that didnt work well. The multiple green LEDs are fine, but the UV light is a single LED that is barely strong enough to see anything in the dark...daylight is impossible. Got a few uses out of it the first couple of days...then it went to the lame toy pile.

July 5, 2016
Ex-Military here. I wasnt by any means expecting to do what I could with my gen4 optics but, if youre sitting still these are still crap. If you want to move around in an area other than somewhere open, forget it. Very small field of view, very limited range. Cant stress how small the field of view is. Head piece is cheap plastic that doesnt stay in place properly no matter how much you tighten it (cant tighten to much or you will break it). I sent mine back thoroughly disappointed. AGAIN field of view is like looking with one eye through a 4ft piece of pipe, seriously.

Not that great!
February 3, 2014
I spent $500 on this and it is not that great! Yes you can see in the dark but not that well. The focus on it was very poor and the range was not as they say. More like 30 feet of night-vision.
Terrible head gear
December 21, 2013
I thought I would try this product mainly because it was reasonably inexpensive. The NVG doesn't seem to bad but it is somewhat blurry around the edges and give you tunnel vision. I don't have enough experience with NVG's to know good from bad. The main problem I have with this unit is it's as if it was made for little children. With the head gear adjusted all the way out it just slips over my head but the chin strap at the ears has no adjustment and does not fully go over my ears, pulling up on the lobes, becoming very uncomfortable. Now I do not have an oversized head and I'm of average build (6ft 200lb man). Also the mounting mechanism is cheaply man not holding is position well.
Not worth the price.
January 9, 2013
The harness on this binocular is pretty good by the binos themselves are overpriced and hard to use. There are better Gen 1 night vision options than these.

I was very exited to get these in only to be severely disappointed in performance. The unit would not focus on objects and the view was distorted like looking through a glass coke bottle. Also you had to press the IR button many times to get IR light on for more background lighting, sometimes just giving up for awhile then trying again with it finally coming on. Update!!. This was the first item that I have ever returned to Amazon and I will have to say that it was the easiest thing I have ever done. Requested return and they immediately sent return label (at no cost to me) and account was credited purchase amount the same day it arrived back. Thanks Amazon for making a bad purchase much more pleasant.
JUNK!!
January 16, 2015
Save your money. These are the worst NV goggles ever. Power switch turns unit on, but WILL NOT turn off. Have to remove battery to get off. I/R switch only works WHEN you hold down the power switch and I/R switch at same time. Worthless for hands free usage.Headpiece is the most uncomfortable thing I have ever worn. Hurts my ears, lets goggles rest HEAVILY on bridge of my nose, and chin cup wouldn't fit ANY normal human.I am returning for refund.
Nightmare of a Product
December 19, 2014
Never in my life have I been so disappointed. I spent the last 500$ I would get until the beginning of next year on this horrible device. It was fine for a week, pretending like it worked, and then BAM, suddenly I can't even turn the device on anymore. I am returning the product now for a full refund, and will never be purchasing from Yukon again. At this point, they should be paying ME to waste my precious time on such a horrible product. I really can not express my dissatisfaction thoroughly enough about this product. Maybe some other people have goggles that still work from Yukon. MAYBE. But I never trust hearsay and I don't trust anything but promises, which is not what Yukon delivered.

I am very disappointed with this product.....Not worth $10.00........The on an off button doesn't work very well at all.The visibility without the built-in IR infrared illuminator; is very poor. The built-in IR infrared illuminator; button only works occasionally and then only if you hold down the on button while holding down the infrared Illuminator button. The infrared illuminator; only stays on for a few seconds, then goes off. Very frustrating. If the infrared illuminator would stay on after pushing the button it would be fine. The frigging button doesn't work..The description states there is a battery included, there wasn't. Had to buy one. A two pack was $18.00..This product is not worth $10.00. I am very disappointed and am in the process of sending it back.
