Five Star Reviews: | 71% It works great November 6, 2017 It works, what else can I say. I ordered some jewelry, the scale said the same thing the jewelry listing said. So the scale seems to work, and Amazon has pretty accurate listing of gram weight on their jewelry. :)Also it is super tiny, could fit in a pocket. That is an extra bonus. Doesn't take up space, could keep in your jewelry drawer. Buy it October 28, 2017 Great scale. Based on other reviews I started off removing the batteries right away. One night I left them in, it was cold out (my scale is used in my garage) and they stayed in for three days before I turned it on again. When I did turn it on I didn't have any problems other than a slow screen. It's possible the battery draining was fixed because like I said there was no issue !I really like this scale and other people always ask where I got it! I recommend this set August 17, 2017 Unbelievable for such a low cost and inconspicuous case makes it easy to just drop in the bottom of your purse or backpack. Make sure to recalibrate inbetween weighs and after each time you turn it on as with most scales. He sure to remove the batteries between uses or you may find them dead pretty fast. I recommend this set. Very nice convenient little scale I personally use it to measure ... July 3, 2017 Very nice convenient little scale I personally use it to measure out my supplements before my workouts the scale is very accurate Good enough for me May 14, 2017 I will be using this for casual weighing of rings etc. At arrival seems to be well calibrated , shows one penny at 2.5 grams and two pennies at 5.0 gram. Good enough for me. And for the price ( a couple of ice coffees at Starbucks ), good enough for me to get 5 stars. Good cheap scale January 29, 2017 This scale seems to be well made and accurate. This is the second one I've purchased, after giving away the first when I no longer needed it. I've been using it to measure up to maybe 5x per day for the last month and a half, and it's holding up excellently. It does frequently lag between incremental weight additions, which is obnoxious but not a dealbreaker at all. | 61% Easy to use and very accurate May 4, 2017 Really handy product. Easy to use and very accurate. I use it at work or when I'm on the go. It's small enough to fit into a jacket pocket comfortably. To me it's especially useful at fast food restaurants where actual serving size can very drastically from the advertised serving size. Where Has This Been My Whole Life? October 11, 2016 Such a nicely priced and handy little scale. I had no idea such a thing existed until I read about it in a review by someone who likes to make their own pressed coffee when they travel. It's easy to use and the cover, once inverted, becomes the tray to hold whatever it is that you want measured. And they cleverly printed the instructions right on the inside of the lid/tray! Brilliant! Cheap and Works September 4, 2016 I ordered 2 just to be sure that I wasn't recieving a deffective unit, (it was only $2 for the second one) and both of them work fine. I think the reason people have issues with them is they put too much weight on it. ALWAYS have the cover on unless you are weighing something and it should work fine. Good for small measurements February 29, 2016 I use this to measure the amount of coffee beans or tea leaves I need to make a cup of coffee/tea. That's like the only use I have for a scale (for now), and for so cheap, I don't see why I would spend more for something better. The limit is really low though, so if you actually require having to weigh something heavier than a ceramic cup, probably shouldn't get this. This is literally pocket size, it's great. Even has a snug lid that doesn't detach when flipped over. Great for dieters April 5, 2013 I bought both the MS-600 and the MS-500. They were much the same. I tested with a penny and both seemed acurate. I used for weighing my food when counting caleries when out and about. Good because it fits easily in your purse. Only problem is that hard to see display when balancing a plate on them. Great for at work, I did use at restarants although sometimes be a bit embarasing. Although the more I weighed the better I came at being able to judge by look. Would be great design if they had a delay display so could freeze the display while you take off the plate. |
Four Star Reviews: | 14% It is very useful for other measurements and I am glad to have ... August 25, 2017 I misread the description and thought it offered 2 decimal places for grams. It is very useful for other measurements and I am glad to have it. Very compact but works well June 28, 2017 Would love if the scale portion were just slightly wider for better coverage, but overall the unit works fine. For international postage weight, and it works September 23, 2016 I use it to weigh my mail i send to my family in the UK, helps me avoid the worry i haven't used enough postage. I stuff letters to the max everytime and its worked like a charm. Pretty good scale! March 13, 2016 Does a good job out to 0.1g, kind of wish I had gotten the version that weighed out to .01g which would be more accurate for mixing my hydroponic fertilizer, but this works well enough. Not for accurate classroom chemlab experiments though. Great Price February 23, 2012 The shipping on this item was very fast less than a week, It seems to work great I gave it 4 stars because before you can use it, you need to calibrate it, and it requires a 500g weight to calibrate it, so unless you have exactly 500g laying around to calibrate it you'll need to buy a weight which will cost you another 9 bucks. I would have been nice to know this before i purchased it because there are other scales out there that either come calibrated or do not require such large amounts. but once it was calibrated it worked perfectly..Also The image shows a black scale mine was silver, not a big deal but kinda wanted the black one.. | 16% fast shipping July 10, 2017 Fast shipping I never communicate with seller but product not working I got new batteries still no work .it is ok That why I give 4 star Good for low cost options March 3, 2017 Much smaller than I expected. Comes with battery's which is convenient and weighs properly. Good scale for low cost options. Easy to use, good product - especially for the price! November 26, 2016 Nice, compact, very lightweight scale. Simple to operate. Wish the grams went out a few more decimal places to weigh substances in smaller quantities. I did like that this scale included batteries June 27, 2016 This scale works well, but I have noticed it jumps up or down by 0.1g. Overall for the price I was impressed. You can find these scales almost at double the cost at regular stores. The package was shipped on time. I did like that this scale included batteries. good February 22, 2014 I weigh my ground espresso with this device. 15 grams for a double.zero it out with the portafilter, then dispense the coffee. The only problem is when the grinder (I have a Rocky) clumps and takes a bit of time. The scale will turn off if not used within a short amount of time. But it will stay on long enough in the usual case - dispense, weight, dispense, weigh etc.It was calibrated when I received it. I checked it and it was spot on.I'd get it again. |
Three Star Reviews: | 5% Great scale for price. May 9, 2017 This scale does exactly what it's built to do. Gets the job done and makes life easier when weighing things on the smaller side. Would of gave it 4 stars but the calibration is faulty at times, weighing things in the negative instead of calibrating back to "0". Doesn't register the mass unless it's like at least a gram and a half February 9, 2017 Doesn't register the mass unless it's like at least a gram and a half. So this is not useful for small measurements. I like the size for the convenience of taking it with ... January 1, 2017 Not consistent measurements. I use it on a flat, stable surface and it either weighs differently each time (by tenths) or flickers between different weights. Luckily, it's ok if my stuff is off by a tenth or two. I like the size for the convenience of taking it with me when I need to. Easy to use and read. Not too bad April 18, 2015 After I finished assembling it i had to find 2 aaa batteries for it but I did get it working. I think the batteries it shipped with were bad. It's within .1g accuracy. These all seem to be clones with different names (aws usn smartweigh) Just ok March 12, 2015 This scale is not as accurate as I would have liked, tends to be off by +/- 0.1 g and if left with weight on will often climb 0.2g. Not a big deal for basic uses such as hops or teas but i wouldn't depend on it for finer measurements. Very inexpensive and works well enough for me but slightly disappointed. Don't leave batteries in it. March 10, 2015 I've had this for a little bit now and the reviews about batteries dying is very accurate. There is however a "workaround". I'm not one to read the instructions on items like this (one's I know how to use) so what I say might actually be in there somewhere. First, they do give you some pretty cheap batteries however when you open the battery compartment you'll notice two sets of battery holders. One is to actually power the scale and one is to just plastic cutouts to hold them. I didn't think much of it because with other scales I've never had to do this, but I didn't use it for about a week and went to turn it on only to see "Lo" display on the screen right before it shut off. I was baffled the batteries could be drained so I put some new ones in and same thing happened about a week later. I put another set of two in but after use I put them in the "plastic holders" I mentioned earlier. The batteries work after a couple weeks now so the best advice I can give you is take the batteries out and put them in the "holder" when not in use. Other than that little annoyance, it's a decent product. | 8% Size was is great and very compact January 15, 2017 I am only giving 3 stars because it does not come calibrated you have to buy a weight. Size was is great and very compact. not bad, not fantastic but it works all the April 25, 2016 you get what you paid for. not bad, not fantastic but it works all the same Three Stars November 2, 2015 Didn't expect it to be this tiny though tried it and so far it's working. |
Two Star Reviews: | 3% I hate that. November 5, 2017 You can't leave the batteries in, and it is off, but you can't see what it's off by, because it only has a tenths place display. I hate that... It doesn't last September 22, 2017 This scale didn't even last a year before it stopped giving me accurate measurements. I'd place a food item on the measuring plate (like a handful of nuts, for example) and the scale would never "settle," i.e., it'd continue to give me measurements and kept fluctuating between them. I tried recalibrating, using a new battery, and resetting—to no avail. I used coins (read: items with a stable weight) and that didn't make a difference. I'd barely used this scale; I took it with me on a few trips but other than that, it was largely just for travel. It turned out to be a waste of money because I didn't even get the use out of it that I paid for it. There are plenty of scales out there; try your hand at another brand. I gave it time and it's not very good.. May 6, 2017 The thing is not accurate and I am looking for a new scale. The grams do not work right, I've tried calibrating since the beginning, it's just off. I am not sure if it could work to measure ... April 30, 2017 I am not sure if it could work to measure under 1g. I tested it with 1/16 teaspoon. The scale is not very responsive. Adding or taking off few 1/16 teaspoons made no difference. Frustrated! December 6, 2016 When I received this and opened it I tested it out on a small object that I knew the weight of and it was totally uncalibrated and the only way to calibrate it is to buy this 500g weight which costs as much as the scale. So it's worthless till I get the weight and calibrate it. Not very fine March 17, 2016 Using this to try and measure small quantities to see how small I can bake, it won't measure anything less than a gram unless you're subtractive. Not really useful for cooking, maybe for jewelry or something. | 3% The display is easily covered by the actual item being weighed making it ... December 14, 2014 Disappointing - scale works but the pad to set food on is very small and the screen is not readable at a low angle. The display is easily covered by the actual item being weighed making it unreadable. Using a small container to lift the item adds more weight than the scale can measure. There is no "hold" button to allow the item to be lifted off so the screen can be read. |
One Star Reviews: | 7% Ridiculous waste of time and money October 13, 2017 Absolutely terrible. First of all, it flashes between weights endlessly, never settling on one. Does this to the air - it can't seem to decide if nothing weights .4 or .7 grams. Needs calibration right out of the box but guess what - I don't have an equally priced 500 gram weight laying around. Ridiculous waste of time and money, returning right after receiving. You should feel bad wasting peoples' time like this. Scale was off. May 30, 2017 The scale was off. It did not weigh correctly. Other then that it was a nice scale. But it's main function was a disappointment. Highly dissappointed March 1, 2017 Was broken!! Put battiers in and it wouldnt turn on at all! The packaging was all smooshed in too. Wish i could get my money back Dead on arrival - would not give any reading February 5, 2017 This scale was dead on arrival. It turned on, but would not give any reading whatsoever. I tried to calibrate it, tried taring it, but nothing would make it register any weight. Need a new one September 28, 2016 The scale itself is obviously crooked and the numbers are wrong eveytime >:( | 12% Don't buy. Rusted battery springs, and the batteries ... April 26, 2017 Don't buy. Rusted battery springs, and the batteries that came with it were dead. This is all fresh out of the package. FAIL March 1, 2017 I needed a scale thatwould weigh out my dog's powder medication to .1 gram, so I thought this would be a good scale after comparing it to several other models. I calibrated this scale per instructions, and attempted to weigh out my dog's powder meds. After two and a half hours of struggling with this thing, not once did it ever display "0.1" in the window. I tried everything - different sized containers, no container at all, different spots in my house, holding my breath, crossing my fingers, toes, eyes, NOT ONCE did this stupid thing weight out .1 gram! I'd set my little measuring cup on the scale, zero out the weight so the display read 0.0, slowly add the powder pinch by tiny pinch, then the readout would suddenly jump to .4. So I'd carefully lift the cup and pour out a little powder, replace it carefully in the same spot on the scale, and the readout would display anything from .5 to -.7!!! WTF?! UNACCEPTABLE when my pet's life is on the line! I tried recalibrating, using a tiny measuring cup, and testing out every table and counter top in my house. Nothing worked. This thing is going back first thing in the morning. If you plan to weigh out something important, avoid this!!! Do not buy the MS-600 scale October 26, 2016 Do not buy the MS-600! Repeat DO NOT buy!Inconsistent even after calibration with the required 500 gram weight (not included ).It is always wrong, and changes weight constantly, even as it's used. After 2 weeks I pulled the batteries and threw it away (I dare not give it away ). Not even worth a refund.Sceptical now of Amazons offerings of "made in China" scales, I did my research and this time I ordered the "Smart Weigh DBL-1KG". This scale is the real deal. It didn't need calibrated right out of the box, I dropped a nickel on it and 5 gm, dropped a dollar and 1 gm. Put the aforementioned 500 gm calibration weight on it an BOOM! 500 grams.- ZERO STARS FOR THE MS-600 SCALEI post this review on my own accord without any outside influence or compensation. I'm just a guy that got burned by a product the was listed as an Amazon "Best choice, recommended or something like that" Stopped working after 2 months January 4, 2012 Stopped working after two-month of light uses. Purchased it in mid-October. Worked fine for the first two months (used it to weigh herbs a couple of time a week). Now it's no longer working. Can still turn it on and off, but does not display weights any more (shows 0.00 all the time). Very disappointed with the product quality. |
