Side by Side Comparison of: Pioneer vs MBI by MCS Industries

I purchased this scrapbook as a project for my boyfriend for our anniversary. It comes in a plastic sheath that I would recommend keeping it in as long as possible. The first time I took it off (when I gave it to him), the cover got dirty and I was unable to clean it. That's a problem with going with flat black I guess. Otherwise, the quality of it is very nice. The satin ribbon down the front adds a nice classy look. I did not try to take the plastic pages out, so I cannot attest to how easy it is to remove/ add pages, but I can say that the final product turned out great and that he loved it.

I don't scrapbook, but I did need something to help me preserve a photo album that well over 60 years old. It was the perfect size, and did everything I was expecting.

The albums are beautiful and made very nicely. They come with a plastic cover over the album, which is nice to have. I am very glad that I ordered them. I had purchased a different brand from a local store and returned them. Anyone who spends hours scrapbooking doesn't want an album to start tearing when you are half way done. These albums DO NOT tear.

Just what we needed for a senior project scrapbook. It was just enough for what was needed. The page layouts allow you to be versatile in your design. The book itself is pretty sturdy so I know it will endure years of page turning.

This is a very high quality scrapbook. The pages are quite thick and there are pockets to store things. The cover is very sturdy. My daughter loves it.

pages were just as I thought. I made the mistake of buying from wrong brand but I made them fit (holes didn't line up)

I loved that it came with those tiny pieces to also expand the spine, so the whole book grows.

Adding to my scrapbook is easier with the refill pages. I order the 3 pack and it saves me time and some money. Will buy more in about 2 months.

Best version of this product I have ever bought. Pages are extremely clear, and there is the perfect amount of space for attaching them to the binder, so that the sleeve itself isn't bent at all. Will continue to buy!

Needed for a family wedding, printouts from guest photo booth being put inside along with little notes from guests. Perfect size for what we want to use it for. We ordered four. Nice feature is being able to add more pages as needed. Books have a very elegant simple appearance. Color selections were nice, purple fit with the wedding colors.

This was really nice, but the cover is kind of cloth like, so it attracts a lot of dust, which I wish I'd of known, but other then that I love it, it's a great pick if a gift for a male, and you can add more pages to it very easily. I really like the brand.

I bought this item as a gift for my mom. She was very happy with the quality of the book and how simple it was to use . I would recommend this item for its value and quality. Great for scrapbooking.

Work great for adding pages, especially since each pack comes with extender pieces. You do have to separate them slowly as they come stuck together where the holes were punched. The holes are slightly too far apart as well, however it still works. Will still be getting more.

The standard 12" x 12" pages that fit with most scrapbooks. They aren't the most durable as one page in my scrapbook has already ripped at the holes, and I am just in the "putting it together" stages, so it is not as if I've done anything rough with it or transported it somewhere that would make that happen more easily.It was worth the price though!

These came quick and no tears etc. However I have 12 inch scrap book and they stick out about a quarter of an inch past page. That didn't bother me to much but if you were going to load a ton in the scrap book it might be annoying for some people. I can say they aren't as good quality as Creative Memories pages, but they'll do fine for your project.

This comes with the plastic sheet covers as well as paper inserts - it is really 6 physical pages but they say 12 because you can use front and back. I was hoping there actually were 12 so I could use the extras for something else but c'est la vie.

I have been creating a massive scrap book for my almost 5 month old baby. I purchased the Monkey Scrapbook and these refills fit the book by the same company. I agree with the previous review. The pages arn't the best and to separate the pages, you have to be careful not to tear the hole punches. However, they are economical and appear to hold up to my scrapped pages. Each comes with additional pegs and cardboard reinforcers for the pages, which I will be useing. I am fairly happy with them.

Nice, sturdy scrapbook in a good size, but unfortunately there aren't a lot of blank pages inside and that type (snapload?) has proven really hard to find as a refill

While the book is good quality and I like the spine -- no pesky screws -- the pages that come with the book are not standard 12x12 pages. It was disappointing to have to use my own refill pages since these are about a quarter inch slimmer than the other pages so I couldn't use the pages that came with the book and my own refills.

This album was okay. Not the best quality, but not the worst. It worked for what I needed. The "clip" part that allows you to add more pages is a great idea and was easy to use. However, the piece under the clip holding the pages flat was a flimsy piece of cardboard that would not stand up to many additional pages. Although, I suppose you could add the additional pages and just remove the cardboard piece. Also, the glue on the binding was loosening a bit. Despite this, I would purchase another because it was easy to use the clips and superglue was an easy fix for the binding.

Only fair quality. I have been using these albums for several years and the quality has deteriorated in the last couple of years. I've had plastic protector pages split at the bottom and some of the plastic pieces that hold the plastic strap have come off. Very frustrating.

I bought 2 of these books as gifts and spent many hours organizing them with photos. They are very attractive and easy to fill - however - with my second one I tried to insert extra pages and the strip that holds the pages in broke. I was very disappointed after all my hard work.

Quality isn't the greatest. I would say they are just ok. I don't expect these will last a long time and we will be replacing them.

OK, as mentioned by a few others, not the greatest quality. Paper inserts VERY thin.

I think the pages will certainly do the job they were intended for. The only complaint that I have, and it's not due to product construction by any means, but when you have to remove the metal spacers from the plastic wrap, there is an issue. The metal spacers are attached to the actual pages with an adhesive they leaves a pencil eraser sized defect on each page where they were attached. There is no way to remove it since it damages the page slightly, so you have to be very careful about what picture you choose so that you can try and hide the spot created. All the other pages look great though.

Good value. It is difficult to add these pages to any photo book (you have to take the book apart) - it's doable, just a little tricky!

For the price, it's not bad. They are a bit flimsy though. If you are on a budget, these will do. Otherwise, it's worth spending a couple more dollars on firmer pages.

Nice outer cover. Easy to load new pages into. However, as stated in someone else's review, half of the dividers were torn on the bottom two holes. Used a hole punch to put new holes in them, but now the pages are all uneven. It's ok, but wouldn't suggest this product.

I am not a scrapbooker, I bought this and will use it for preservation and viewing of old 78 RPM record sleeves. I can't really compare this to other scrapbooks but I can tell you the "snap" feature isn't nearly as quick and user friendly as I was lead to believe. It's actually a bit cumbersome and one of the straps wouldn't even snap back in place the first time I tried to do it. The strap snap mechanism (the little bit of plastic) looks like it's designed to easily un-snap the line but because of this it doesn't have a lot of heft to keep the line in place.The book and binding feel good and don't appear that they will easily fray.I bought this for a single purpose and will likely never be adding or taking anything out of it so it will remain on my shelf. If I were planning to edit and manage this on a regular basis I would have either sent it back or relegated it to the B team.

The quality of the book is great. My biggest issue is that I ordered one in black but received a red one. I live in a small town and have to purchase majority of items online. Due to time constraints I had to go ahead and use it. Never had this issue before but it was definite let down.

Really cheaply made; sticks together and rips easily especially around the holes; some holes also do not line up with regular posts. Only a few were usable in the pack I received.

At a price of nearly a $1.00 per sheet, I think it would be much more of an artistic impact to just use dollar bills as pages, or invest in a 3-hole hole punch (for about the same price as only 6 sheets of this product) and consider using alternative materials.

Bought this 6 pack of extra pages, but 2 of them came with torn holes so I was unable to use them. The vertical strip with the 3 holes punched was torn. Giving it 2 stars since the items came damaged and may be susceptible to tearing, but I like the top loading page style.

The description here is really misleading. You will receive 6 (six) sheets and covers.

These are the worst scrapbook replacement pages EVER. The plastic is SO cheap, it tears with the slightest tug. Which was impossible to avoid as the pages were stuck together by the punch holes. Then, the size is completely non-standard! They didn't fit any scrapbooks I have, so I had to cut them and it looks like a total hack. Will never buy again. Lastly, this is probably my fault for not reading closely enough, but when I see 12 pages, I expect 12 sheets, not 6.

Pages came very dirty/dusty, even on the inside of the page protectors. Also, many of the binder ring holes were defective. Clearly these are some sort of second rate knock off or seconds from the real company.

Horrible quality!!! I bought a bunch of these, filled my album with them and had to dissemble the entire thing because I noticed all the ripples in the plastic. Do not buy these!!!!

Holes did not line up with scrapbook although was recommended to buy with.

Very poor quality; tear very easily. Throwing them out!
