April 3, 2017
it was as described and made very well...I liked the idea that the original toilet seat can be installed over it.
Just what the doctor ordered!
July 24, 2015
I recently had total hip surgery and needed a toilet seat elevator. I looked at several of them and chose this one. Very happy with it. Easy to install and easy to clean. You have to loosen it a little when cleaning the toilet, especially between it and the porcelain of the toilet bowl as the urine gathers under it and makes for a nasty mess. It's sturdy and the handles on the side give that added support needed. I may leave it on long after I've recovered because it makes sitting on the commode easier.
Good quality and value
February 14, 2015
My wife has tremors and tends to fall. I actually found this seat to be quite stable, I was also happy with the quality and ease of installing. I do have to tighten up the bolts in back about once a week, I would be careful to do that even though I don't think it has created a safety problem, it just needs to be made so it doesn't slide a little side-to-side. My wife is rough on these seats, so I'm OK with that.

Perfect for those having a hard time standind up from a sitting position. My husband said its a little piece of Heaven for him ! No more falling !
A Necessary Bathroom Aid
December 17, 2013
After two back surgeries and a knee replacement I can truly say this product is a terrific help. We also have three of our parents living with us (102, 95, and 90 years of age) and without this additional elevation for the toilet, we would be in a world of trouble. This seat and the installation of a pull bar on the wall enable the older folks to be independent while using the facilities. What a good product.

helps taking shower
July 17, 2017
my wife is 74 and has trouble taking a shower. I bought her the drive medical shower chair to help. she says its a little bit too large for are small shower. she was able to take a shower while sitting in the chair. I think it will take a little time getting use to it. update 9/20/17. we have a small shower and this chair take up a lot of room. she said she had a problem trying to clean the back side. are shower is 35 x 35 inches.
Very pleased and completely confident in it's stability. Recommended.
June 17, 2017
Got this and set it up for my senior mom. Fits in her standard size tub perfectly and has a trustworthy stability. I also added one of those screw down clamp hand rails on the side of her tub and she can transition into the tub easily and condidently. It assembled very eaily and is made of a quality thick plastic. Was worried that it would be questionable but after putting it together and my mom trying it out, it is worth every cent. Legs screw in almost 3 inches deep and can't imagine any circumstances where they could break or give out. I wouldn't risk my mom's safety and this chair reduces risk so she no longer has to sit down in the tub which can be a chore getting out. Very pleased.
Easy to put together
May 27, 2017
Easy to put together, and a really great Chair. It has all of the things I was looking for at a great price! So glad I didn't go to the drug store.I have rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. I am currently having a hard time, so I was looking for a way to make my shower safer. It has arms, many chairs don t. These make it much easier to go from sitting to standing. The legs have rubber tips. This baby doesn't slide. It also has slots in the seat, another important feature to me. I don't sit in a puddle, and I don't have to worry about mold. I highly recommend this chair, and am so happy that I bought it!
Perfect for post surgery
April 25, 2015
Let me start with a few quick facts. I'm 5'7 and weigh over 200 lbs. I had knee surgery and this chair is perfect for me. I found out about this chair at the rehab facility. They had a smaller chair but as soon as I sat in this one I knew it was for me. If you are a smaller person you can definitely get a smaller chair. The chair has 2 handles but I didn't use them. I highly recommend you get a long shower hose. I think mine is 5 or 6 feet. You can then sit comfortably and wash your hair. After a couple of uses I realized it was little low and bothering my knee. Then I remembered. I could adjust the leg height. I raised it 3 notches and now it's perfect.
Great Buy for smaller tubs!
February 28, 2015
Arrived two days earlier then predicted. Easy to put together. I did find the extending of the legs a little challenging due to having arthritis in my hands, but once I got them loose then they turned no problem. Very stable! I bought this specifically based on the reviews of the dimensions and fit. I have a narrow tub and have been looking for something more sturdier than a stool for my daughter, who is disabled. I have tried other bath seats and they are all way to big. This is a perfect fit
Good chair-would buy again
November 1, 2013
Good Quality, easy to put together, sturdy. I would buy again and/or recommend to a friend. The feet of the chair outside to outside at the foot base is 17.5 inches. My bathtub bottom is 18.5 (in the flat part, before the gradual curve upward) so the chair fits nicely.

I highly recommend this for any one who needs a lift. After being bedridden for three years, I finally was able to have both knees replaced at the same time and this was perfect. Easy to install and use.
Riser for toliet
August 28, 2017
I bought this riser before going in for a total knee replacement. I looked at several before making my selection. I am happy with my selection & I would recommend it to anyone who needs a riser for a medical condiction such as surgery, ect. I am happy I chose the one with the handles. It is perfect for me after my knee surgery & the price was a great buy. I highly recommend this riser
Great purchase
July 17, 2016
Works great for 'easy sitting' after back surgery. My only complaint was that I've noticed it's moved around a little after two months use - probably due to the apartment toilet I have. Once removed, I'm not sure the old snaps that go over the bolts holding the toilet seat it will work but not going to worry about it. It's nice that the old toilet seat cover can be shut right over the top of this.
Perfect
March 28, 2015
Having bad knees, this works perfectly. Easy to get up and down without pain.
t work with the newer easy clean lids
November 16, 2014
It won,t work with the newer easy clean lids, you need an older seat that will allow the long bolts to go through. Otherwise the seat is wonderful

These hand holds worked perfectly in my elderly parents bathroom ...
February 22, 2017
These hand holds worked perfectly in my elderly parents bathroom. The attached amazingly firmly to the tile in the bathroom, both in the toilet alcove and also in the shower. They are sized perfectly for standard 4" tiling. We did have to reposition one handle in the shower, and I was concerned after seeing others have some difficulty in doing that. But for us, it wasn't a problem and the repositioned handle is just as secure as all the others.
I bought two - they helped a lot
December 2, 2015
I'm a big guy, so I wanted two handles to divide the amount of force when I pull myself up from the shower chair. And having two of them helps A LOT.Also, it's nice having them there to help me steady myself when I'm standing up.The cups really grab the hard, shiny fiberglass. Even so, I check them when I first get in the shower.Highly recommended!
Very effective sturdy grab bars
May 31, 2015
Very effective sturdy handles that can be applied to any smooth surface to provide a hand hold for balance. It is especially effective in the modern single piece plastic molded bath tubs and showers. The handles are held in place by air pressure. To attach the handle, the levers at each end are raised, the unit is placed against the surface and the levers depressed..A vacuum is created which holds the handle in place. Unlike grab bars that fasten with screws, these handles can be attached without piercing or marking the surface to which it is attached. Likewise the handle can be relocated as needed..
Sticks in place like it was part of the wall!
April 20, 2015
Since some of the reviews here referenced situations where the suction would come loose or not hold at all, I was apprehensive about purchasing this grab bar. I went to my local Home Depot to try checking one out in person, and they had the exact product in stock. I took it out of the box, attached it to an adjacent fiberglass shower enclosure, and it stuck like it had been glued in place with industrial adhesive! Taking it home and placing it on 6-inch tiles, it held with the same ferocity as the fiberglass surface at the store; it has been in place for two weeks, with no indication of coming loose. Very secure for our needs. For reference, the center-to-center distance between suction cups is about 8-1/4-inches, with the cup diameter approximately 4-inches each. I feel that many of the issues others have had with sticking have been due to improper installation. You must push in on the cup ends about 1/8-inch towards the mounting surface BEFORE securing the clasp, otherwise it will just fall off the wall. Long story short, this is an excellent product, and I will be purchasing another shortly for our second bathroom. Highly recommended!
SUCTION Issues NO MORE with KES mounting discs!! :^)
January 2, 2015
This at a GREAT suction balance bar for an elderly parent in the shower!!! BUT... just as others have found.. most of us have had those blasted suction-cups release at the darnedest times! (when you need them to work!) Eureeka!! A MUST buy is also:KES Adapter Plate 95mm Circular Adhesive Dash / Mounting Disc with 3M Adhesive, Polished Stainless Steel, 2 Pieces or 1 Pair,... also sold here at Amazon. (I hunted through all the hardware stores, ugh..and lo-and-behold... they were here!) These work with any other suction-cup bars I have used.Caring for an elderly parent is challenging enough.. Do yourself a favor and chalk one more concern off. Amen.ADDITIONAL help info: I noted that one of my 4 seals was starting to be compromised after about a year ... aka.. the disk was beginning to start, ever so slightly, to pull away from the shower tile... (It had received some tugs and full weight pulls) I was able to restore the seal by using the hair dryer to remove any moisture that may have snuck behind and also warm up the adhesive. Putting on some even pressure for a minute, and all was good. No more issues. All the other disks doing yoeman service! Good luck to all! You are not alone.(Glad to hear this info is helpful to others :^)
IT REALLY WORKS!
April 28, 2013
I bought this for my Mother who is 95. She was afraid to put any weight on the handle so I told her to use it just for balance as I gave her a shower. I had to remind her a few times not to hang on too tight, but it never moved while she was holding on to it. She is really happy that I bought it and she said she doesn't feel like she is going to fall all the time anymore. I installed it the night before my Mom was to use it. I had read where this type of product had sometimes fallen off the shower wall after a short time and some had not even been used yet. My Mom is very frail and I was so afraid it would come off while she was holding onto it. It has not come off or even budged since I put it on the shower wall. I always check it and make sure it is attached securely before she takes her shower. I highly recommend the Moen LR2308W. I am very pleased with this product and I hope you will be too.

It's helpful
April 9, 2016
I have two bad knees (waiting for knee replacement surgery) and this elevated seat was so helpful. I have used it for close to 2 years but about 6 months ago the rubber on the handles came apart. It may expected that this would happen with regular use but I think it would be a good idea to use a more durable material.
Extremely helpful for an elderly or overweight person
August 29, 2015
This is an extremely helpful product for an older or heavier person, who has difficulty getting up off the toilet. It fit well on our Kohler elongated toilet bowl. After enlarging the mounting holes slightly in our lid cover to accommodate the supplied mounting bolts, it sits securely on the bowl. Even after tightening the mounting bolts very tight, there is still some movement possible toward the front of the unit, which is not fastened or clamped in any way. An adjustable clamp to hold the front edge a little more securely would be useful. The handles are helpful, although they are covered with some kind of soft foam rubber, and previous experience tells me that in time they will stretch and loosen. Actually, a non-slip coating of some sort on the handles would probably last longer
Sturdy seat! Good price!
March 12, 2015
Good seat height, easy to mount. Was a little small for my husband between the hand grips, but he could use it. Measurement between the hand grips is approximately 18.5 inches. Can adjust 1" closer on each side for 16.5 inch space if you need smaller. The toilet lid feet were beginning to press into the top of the elevator seat. Did not need to use riser long enough to know if this would cause any problem with integrity of riser. If used for long term, might want to try knocking the toilet lid feet off so it lays flat on the riser and distributes the weight better. I am happy with purchase, but would need one with wider access between hand grips. Hope this helps, I know how frustrating it is to try and buy something without seeing the actual product!
Nice Throne
November 27, 2014
Had hip replacement surgery. Occupational therapy daughter did research and recommended. So glad I paid extra and got a seat with side grip handles. Need tools to install, as you have to take regular toilet seat off, place seat elevator and then put original toilet seat and lid on elevator. I really liked having my own familiar seat. I rated a 4 because one of the handles did not fit. Took a lot of work to try and fit. Would have returned for replacement, but my bad, received and installed riser day before surgery. Also, was necessary to use 2 1/2 inch rug gripper strip between original toilet edge and bottom of toilet seat elevator. Be mindful of size of person using...I weigh 160. Friend visiting weighing about 200 lbs did not fit because of handle width.

Sturdy shower chair.
July 28, 2017
Overall a sturdy shower chair but you may have to leave the handles off. Could be made deeper from back to front. It works for what it was intended. I think I will invest in a walk in tub though in the spring. Great for short term use though or if you prefer showers to baths.
Very large - check dimensions & measure your tub
June 7, 2017
Chair is MUCH larger (wider) than I expected. It only fit sideways in my tub (facing out), and then my legs barely fit in front of it. To be fair, the dimensions are posted. I just assumed it was small enough to fit in a normal sized tub. I expected to face it toward the showerhead with my legs in front of me. It is a well made chair, easy to assemble and fully adjustable. But check the dimensions and measure it against your tub! If you are a smaller person, you will do better with a smaller chair.
Too tall at shortestsetting
April 15, 2017
I would much prefer that it had a lower setting, as, if I am in the tub, on the bottom of the tub, it is just slightly too high for me to be able to push off and get myself into the chair. It's fine if you just want to sit in the chair and never get submerged, but that only allows a portion of legs into the water. If there happened not to be a shower (and I've lived places where there was not), it would be of very limited help. Are there alternate, shorter, legs which could be substituted?
NICE
March 13, 2017
I really like this chair for the tub/shower. It was really easy to put together. I noticed in using it, the legs need to be checked once a week to be tightened(see if legs need to be screwed back in a bit). That is the only "problem" I found with it. Delivered quickly and it wasn't over packed. I recommend the seller, would purchase from them again.
Safe, secure, meets all our needs
March 13, 2017
Works great. Snaps together. Made entirely from easy to clean and disinfect plastic. Very secure seat that fits perfectly in my standard size tub. Lots of hand holds which makes it very easy to use in conjunction with grab bars in the tub/shower enclosure. The guy who installed the safety features in the bathroom noticed it, said he's seen a lot of them and commented it's one of the best. A little pricier than some on the site but worth it.

great product and very firm ( only will need flat head screws instead of round head screws that comes in the installation kit)
September 24, 2015
Great product, only problem is that srews that come along to install it (perfect lenght), they are round head, when they should be flat head, the original toilet seat I installed it ok, but before grinding down 3mm of the round head of the screws .

Extra hand hold for tub exit
January 1, 2017
Very good grippers but won't work on marble tile. Not sure about glass? Holds tight on tubs and surrounds. But they are for balance, not for support. Real grab bars must be properly installed with blocking behind tile anyhow. This is no substitute for that. But a great help for getting out of tub.
Works well
December 7, 2016
Once you find the proper surface it sticks like magic. One of my showers has tiles that are too small for it to stick properly but the other works like a charm. I have to use this to get in and out of the shower due to a hip replacement and it functions perfectly. It looks nice also - rather classy.
Good product
June 10, 2016
I really like Moen products. I used this as an interim solution while I waited for permanent grab bars to be installed. It held securely but I tried not to put to much weight on it for fear of pulling the tile off the shower wall. It certainly helped me with balance but would not trust it for a heavy pull - not because of any problem with the product but concern for the tile.
Suction works very well
January 19, 2016
I tried it on a ceramic wall, and the suction lasted about 24 hrs. Actually not bad for a semi smooth surface, I am sure it would have been better on a glass surface, . The place where it would have worked best was out of reach for my wife and i had to return it.Otherwise it would have been very handy.
Safe and easy bath bar.
November 6, 2015
This has been on our tub shower wall for over three weeks and has not loosened a bit. Nicely made and sturdy. We have 4 inch tiles and it fits fine. Would recommend testing it each time and refastening it occasionally.Very satisfied.
Wonderful and reliable.
July 4, 2015
I cleaned both the tiles of the shower stall and the suction cups of this handle with alcohol and clear water prior to placing it in position, just to make sure everything was totally without soap scum or other unseen elements. Wonderful! It adheres much better than I had ever hoped!I would give it 5 stars in the reliable use category but the looks are somewhat cumbersome and I deducted one star just on the aesthetics. However, reliable use is of more importance.

Was going to send it back because it does not fit tight and is a little wiggly.(Is that a word?) But I used a little double sided tape and got it tighter and will keep it. The elongated holes might help it fit more toilets but sure makes it unsecure with too much play.
A starting place to stand.
August 8, 2016
My wife has bad knees and uses this to get a head start on standing. We dont use the handles and I am not too pleased with the bolting hardware but there isnt much out there. Plastic cleans easily enough and it works for her. Even though they say for elongated toilets I find the size somewhat short and it would be nice if it had more of a lip that catches the inside rim.

Shipping fine. Toilet Seat Elevator fine -- EXCEPT for the fact that the screws that came with the elevator seat are way too large to go through the holes for the toilet seat on my mothers toilet. The toilet in her assisted living is new, with a new kohler seat and the screws that are in the seat are significantly smaller in diameter than the screws for the elevator seat. You have to use the long screws that come with the elevator seat to secure it. I went to my local Ace hardware to see if they had screws the size that will work with her Kohler seat but as long as the ones that came with the elevator seat. No luck. Anticipate I'll have to return this and find another style. I do like the idea of having the 'normal' seat and lid on top of the elevator seat, but I can't make it work in my case.

Customizable, wide, legs sometime loosen up
September 24, 2017
I ordered this for my mother in August 2016, so she has been using it for a little over a year. It is still in good condition. She was using a stool before which had no rubber at the bottom and too low to the ground. It was going to be dangerous to continue using. I decided to browse on Amazon and I found this one. She leaves this chair in the tub 24/7. It fits our standard tub perfectly with no room to spare on the sides. The chair is bigger than I expected but I am a petite woman so most things are large to me. I didn't install the back or the handles. It is customizable which is great. Compared to some other medical chairs, it is cheaper in cost. Some minor complaints is that the legs sometime loosen up from when we move the chair forward or back so I would have to adjust the legs again from time to time or else it'll wobble. Another problem is that it does mold in the cracks/slits of the legs where it has the number levels. Something we would have to constantly clean. If something happens to this chair in the future, I would probably try a different chair.
Works ok, but prone to breakage
September 4, 2017
It was working just fine, but for the first few weeks, you MUST tighten the legs to the seat with EVERY use. Then, one day as I was moving it in the shower, the whole leg fell apart. I was able to piece and glue it back together, but for an item for the handicapped, one expects a better performance.
It is also no where near as sturdy as the metal legs shower seats
August 12, 2017
I purchased this chair because it has no metal to rust. The legs screw in instead of being bolted in; however, they will not stay secure. Every other shower you have to tighten the legs down. It is also no where near as sturdy as the metal legs shower seats.
I like that you can adjust the high
March 21, 2017
I like that you can adjust the high, but it frustrates me that every other day I am re tightening the legs. I don't know how the legs keep loosening up. As a safety precaution, before you sit on you chair, please make sure the legs are tightened.
a ;ittle massive to use at home.
November 18, 2016
This is a very well made and sturdy chair that could be a big help to people like me with some (temporary) balance issues. The reason for a lowish rating is the size. It is much bigger than you may picture. Since we have a separate and pretty large stall shower it seemed perfect for me since I was looking at two months of unsteadiness standing. This chair took up so much of the shower space, I was more afraid of falling while trying to stand near it before sitting down. Great chair if you can easily accommodate its bulk.
Okay chair, but legs come unscrewed on their own
August 27, 2016
Nice chair; it holds the weight it's supposed to, but the legs keep coming unscrewed on there own without much effort. My sister is recovering from a leg injury and keeps the chair pretty much stationary in the kitchen, but for some reason the legs keep coming unscrewed, I put the legs on myself and even stuck a long screwdriver in the holes to give me some torque, but I went to see her two days ago and one leg was just sitting in the socket. If you get this chair, just be mindful of the legs.P.S - I have the height of the chair at the highest it will go. Not sure if that means anything, but I figured I'd throw that out there.

PROBLEM MOUNTING ELEVATOR
May 12, 2017
I bought this for our round toilet having bought one several years ago for our oval toilet. I am having the same difficulty in installing this one as I did with the previous one. The previous seat , as is this one, had slip off hinges and the 3/8 inch diameter bolt furnished with the elevator did not fit the holes in the slip off seat. I bored them out to fit the bolts and when tightening them up, it cased the split slip on hinge to turn and spread the split slip on hinge. To mount the previous one I had to buy a new seat without the slip off hinges. The new seat hinges just have a closed round hole in the hinges. As to the bolt I had to get new stainless steel bolts long enough to go through the hinges and through the elevator. Problem, Lowes did not have bolts that long. So I bought the longest 1/4 inch bolt, about 2- 2 1/2 inches long. a 6 inch long stainless steel threaded rod and a stainless steel coupling nut. That is a nut about 1 1/2 inches long. With this I mounted the seat and it has not moved. I am intending to but a Kohler K 4648 seat and se the same connection process. Also between the elevator and the toilet bowl I placed several of those anti slip strips you put on the bottomof a tub or shower.

October 27, 2016
The idea is good and it is sturdy and comfortable. Trouble is the screws loosen each time you use it and the whole seat moves around. Bought two, one has worked perfectly the other arrived with only a semi-working lock and after a couple of weeks, both locks on that one stopped working. Had to purchase a replacement, can't really recommend.
No help from falling
June 10, 2016
They work for balance but I would be afraid if disabled hubby grabbed them to keep from falling as they do pop off. He just went to jiggle it to make sure it was secure before we got him into the shower & it just came right off the wall with no effort. For safety, you need something permanent, these proved it.
Okay for us.
May 21, 2016
Well, it mostly worked, It did fall off the smooth shower surround a few times. This worked for my teen son, because I told him to make sure it was firmly attached every time before using it to steady himself while he was non weight bearing on one leg. I wouldn't be confident enough to use it for an elderly person, who might forget that testing it first thing.

March 27, 2016
We purchased both the 3m product to place on wall for supreme connection (that was fine), however, do not put this over a heat vent, as we start out looking good, however release iseventually the result on the bar.I hope to have another try, in my own home with this product, after I re/purchase the 3M discs to see if it may work better in a cooler area.
Use with extreme caution
March 4, 2016
This a good product, even though I gave it a three star rating. It is a clever idea and can be helpful. But the user needs to be fully aware that this simply a tool and could slip or detach when trying to use it. Attaching it to a surface can be deceptive if not using the right surface and if not completely pressed on, before engaging the suction device. Use with caution, but never-the-less a good idea and can be helpful in certain events.
Strong, but...
December 21, 2015
Wanted for shower accesibility. Very well made, but.....the ends are large and need large shower tiles to work safely. Small tiles won't work as it disrupts suction ability.

Wrong model for our toilet!
June 18, 2016
Does not fit well on our one piece toilet, The tank wraps around preventing the seat to fit properly and leaves a space between the seat elevator and the toilet, making it very unsanitary. The seat design is good but not for our toilet.
Broken within 90 days
June 10, 2016
Lasted less than three months before cracking and breaking. Especially with a user who is well under the specified weight limit for this item. I should've paid closer attention to a *red flag* 30 day return policy.

The bolts that hold the seat to the toilet do not fit most conventional toilet seat covers. Great idea that was negated by bad engineering on the method of attachment.
I really wanted this to work...
December 14, 2014
I'm not sure why, but when I was tightening the screws to install this for my mom, the front of the seat began lifting up. By the time I finished tightening them the gap between the toilet and bottom of the seat was large for me to fit my flattened hand. This seemed very unsafe. I uninstalled it and returned. As always, Amazon made the return process easy.

Not for me
July 24, 2017
This chair is unsafe in my opinion. I thought plastic would be better than the metal legged because the legs couldn't rust and break off, like the reviews I've read. However, the legs on this chair screw on and for some unknown reason become loose to the point where the chair starts wobbling. I don't use the chair every day, I just have it in the shower in case I need to sit down. It's non-returnable so I guess I'm stuck with it.
MEH
June 20, 2017
Although fairly easy to put together, it was not very comfortable. I think the top end of this chair is 350 lbs., I weigh about 280 and to sit in it was hurtful. It was ok after I took the arms off, but really? I weigh 70 lbs. less than the top and I have to take off the arms? Not a great deal.
I'M NOT THAT BIG AND IT DIDN'T FIT
June 6, 2017
This chair is supposed to fit all sizes and up to 350 lbs. I weigh 220 and could not use with both handles in place.Otherwise I tried to use it once after hip surgery and with one arm it was okay. Went to return it and they said no returns but THEY DID REFUND MY MONEY AND SUGGESTED THAT i GIVE IT TO CHARITY.
Wobbly & Unsafe
April 7, 2017
This is not a safe chair. My husband fell over sideways with the chair while in the shower. The legs are a 2 piece system and the piece that adjusts for height, wobbles on the inside of the outer leg. Also the feet are not a suction, they are rounded and do not stand firm on the shower floor. The chair also is not safe on the floor, it wobbles there as well.

Very sturdyI feel safe taking a shower with this chairUpdateThe front left leg has shifted to an angle. The last time I used it the chair creaked and I don't feel safe using it anymore so I am going to replace itOne other thing; the seat did get slippery when I was using it so I had to be careful during my showersWhen I got this I was pleased with it; however with use the left front leg bent into an angle so I stopped using it

February 12, 2017
This chair was a great buy. It seamed sturdy enough at first but when my 170 pound husband sat on it in the shower and it popped, it scared us both very badly. The chair advertised being able to hold up to 300 pounds. The loud pop was the leg cracking. OMG if it would have fallen completely apart my husband could have been seriously injured. I do not recommend this chair to anyone, especially someone larger than my husband.

With the handrails attached it wouldn't work for a large person. Quite snug for me and I'm a size 16. Also the plastic riser is denying in on one side so not sure how durable it will be.
Look for better
June 5, 2017
What moron designed the elevator. All that needed to be done was straight solid holes thru plastic for bolts to secure to toilet. Someone missed the memo people having a disability are using this. Moves all over. Only way to hold is silicone bead gluing it down. Look for better brand
Get the correct size! May be hard to install to make it stable.
January 10, 2017
This is not for an Elongated toilet....Make sure you order for your bowl size exactly. I was in a hurry and nothing in the headline said what size it was and I wound up with the wrong one. Also, The screws and system it uses for attaching to the bowl are a little wonky and it's really almost impossible to get a tight sturdy fit.
Description Wrong
November 16, 2016
The product was fine except the description says it's for elongated toilets and it's actually for a standard toilet.
better to buy this product locally shipping to expensive.
March 1, 2016
The shipping was too expensive. I should have looked locally as I have seen the Carex Product everywhere now. I ordered oval and got round so we could not put lid on and it allowed the top of bowl to get wet and dirty. We were under a time restraint and had to use what I had.
A real half-assed design.
March 11, 2015
This thing was very poorly designed. It slips and slides all over the place unless you tighten it down ALOT. But if you do that, the front of the thing sticks up about two inches above the toilet bowl. So there's a huge gap at the front. With the force you need to use to tighten the bolts so the thing doesn't move, if a person were to sit on it he might do some damage. I took it apart one time and reassembled it, moving the included washers around to different locations. The results were the same. I read some of the reviews here, and the reviewers used two sided tape to tape the thing down. I didn't have that, so I used Velcro to secure it. That seemed to work. But now, I noticed when I tried to tighten up the bolts even a little bit, the toilet seat itself rose up above the top of the riser. So, I had to disassemble it one more time, to place washers between the seat lid and the riser. Finally, after four tries, I got it to work, at least in a half-assed fashion. What a true pain in the ass.The designers must have had their heads up their asses when they designed this one.

Disappointed!
January 3, 2017
Followed directions to installation. Initially, it didn't want to adhere well. (Have tiled shower like most.) Finally, got the bar securely on the wall.....or so we thought. We've only had this a couple months & last night the handle just came crashing down @ 2:30a.m. scaring the h%ll out of us! Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this product.
Not Feeling Safe With It
June 16, 2016
Hard plastic, not that I thought it would stay on the fiberglass shower wall forever, but I surely thought it would stay put for a few weeks, but it came down within a day. My mom does not feel comfortable using it for a security reach bar. I can't say I don't blame her. She doesn't have the strength to place it on the wall because it takes a pretty good amount of push to lock it in place.
Not for marble, maybe something else.
March 17, 2016
We have marble tiles in our shower. These would not stick to them. We tried a few other brands at the same time and none of them worked either. This one worked marginally better than the others. Just not the solution for us.No problems with returning it. If you aren't using it on marble, go ahead and give it a try.

January 1, 2016
Does not stick to the wall. Fell off with no one in the shower several times. I have large tiles in the bath so grout lines were not a factor. Felt this product was very unsafe for my grandmother. Would not buy again, or if you use it for someone, make sure it is put on the wall at the time of each shower.
Not so good
July 27, 2015
refuses to stay on the wall even with the disks I purchased at additional cost. Longest stay on the wall was 2 days.
I would not recommend this or any suction bars
July 20, 2015
These look well made but if you are buying them for an elderly person they will not be safe. It says on the package " Check the suction assist bar to make sure it is securely attached before each use." For the elderly who might not remember to check it before each use, it can and I know from personal experience, will come off in their hands if it is not re-secured every time. These are very dangerous for elderly living alone. I got a refund but they made me pay for the shipping. I would not recommend this or any suction bars, they just can't be trusted.

Not stable when installed.
March 25, 2016
The seat was not stable after it was attached to the toilet. The holes used to insert the bolts into is too wide and would allow the seat to move back, forth, and sideways. My father did not feel secure in the seat, so I had to remove it.

This was a very disappointing product. I just had a total hip replacement, and as I was sitting down, the handle on the left side of the commode came out. Could have been very damaging to my new hip. I do not recommend this product.
Too Much Wiggle!

Listed as having a weight capacity of 350... I weigh significantly less than that and the seat broke after 4-5 uses.
This product is dangerous
August 14, 2016
Hazardous. The first one sent had a crack but figured it had been cracked in shipping so asked for replacement. After about a doze uses yesterday it broke in half with my handicapped husband dumping him on shower floor. Since he has a problem with his knee he cannot stand from seated position so had to call 911 to assist. The product is supposed to hold 350 pounds. My husband weighs just shy of 300 so I believe this to be false advertising. I called Amazon and got a man in Indonesia and asked for refund and was refused and told I would have to handle with manufacturer. Buy this product at your own risk. I will never buy a Drive product again
Broke in half while sitting on it.
August 6, 2016
I am well under the stated weight limit of this chair. After using it less than a dozen times it split in half while I was sitting on it. I was not doing anything to put unusual stress on the seat. Without warning, there was a ripping sound, and the next thing I knew I was on the shower flor. Fortunately, injuries were minor, but like a few others who have given negative reviews, I urge buyers to use extreme caution with this product. It's better to use nothing rather than risking spinal injury or head injury.
Split down the middle during my shower! :-(
November 19, 2015
I've taken approximately 5 showers with this chair and look what happened in the middle of my last one! Split down the middle. It also spilled and slid all over the tub when I was sitting in it. It's not safe at all. I want a refund.

these "grab" bars lose their "grip" in < 5 minutes = total waste of money
October 17, 2017
Regardless of location, these "grab" bars lose their "grip" in < 5 minutes = total waste of money! I would've returned them, but the build of our custom shower took longer than expected to complete, thus I did not try using them until after my window of time to return had already expired.
Dangerous
January 11, 2017
Dangerous. Bar was installed in my elderly parents shower, flat wall, no reason for it not to "stick". It seemed firm and in place, but just hours later, simply just fell off. I am afraid this could cause falls. Not recommended at all.
careful... They don't stick
April 24, 2016
They don't stick to tile well. Be careful. We bought these to make shower time more fun😉, but their are a lot of people who buy these for mobility and I would not trust this product.
Unsafe.
March 4, 2016

BEWARE IT IS DANGEROUS AND DOES NOT STICK.
March 3, 2016
BEWARE! Instructions clearly say attach to tile not on grout line. Also do not attach to painted wall. Bar fell off after 3 minutes. I found it to be very dangerous and happy it fell off prior to my using it. I tried to get it to attach many times following the directions. I shipped it back.

I heard rumors about these that the suction could let go and that you don't want for an elderly patient in a shower. Well, it did happen to my 90 year old mother and fortunately she was not hurt. Drill them into the wall to insure staying on! Too dangerous with the elderly!
