Five Star Reviews: | 46% Kinda flimsy but they're great. April 24, 2017 Does the job and folds away for storage. Kinda flimsy but they're great. Five Stars March 17, 2017 Love this product! Keep my food protected and away from bugs and mosquitoes! No more fruit flies at the fruit bowl January 5, 2017 These screens completely eliminated fruit flies from my kitchen. I take them to BBQs and the flies and bees can't get to the food! we all had them covering our favorite treats. They are simple to use August 18, 2016 I have a lot of flies here in the desert, leaving anything uncovered it asking for fly landings. These saves me the plastic of tinfoil wrapping. I guess that makes these items ECO friendly. They also remind me when I was a kid at BBQ with family, we all had them covering our favorite treats. They are simple to use, and store. If your germ-fobic you will love this little extra touch. Better then expected April 6, 2016 Better then expected. The quality and durability of these will be perfect for my fall outdoor wedding. They are also larger then I was expecting, big enough to fit over the large bowls and such. | 46% PICNIC ANYONE? August 7, 2017 This reasonably sized and priced item doesn't look too dorky and frustrates flying insects to no end. They work awesome but they are lightweight and if it's more than slightly breezy they can be easily weighted using the pull cord with a little bit of creativity. I've been known to tie my key ring onto mine. Good product for a reasonable price Just what I wanted, excellent screen for food. July 29, 2017 These are very decent quality and the pop up design is really clever. Some reviewers complained that flies can get under it because it does not sit level on the table. The one I got may be an improvement. There is a pretty half inch strip of lace sewn on the bottom. It serves to block flies and close any gaps there might be from an less than level surface. The lace is pretty ingenious really, but I don't know if they all come that way. The tent covers a decent amount of space and fits well over a fairly deep fruit bowl I have on my counter. It's plenty strong for the purpose, but don't try to use this for anything more rigorous than repelling gnats ! (i.e. catching minnows, sifting flour ? LOL). But the mesh and the product work exactly as I wanted and expected. They collapse easily for storage. Very useful, product design cannot be improved! November 1, 2016 I researched food covers, and I think the mesh ones are the best. The only ones more aesthetically pleasing are glass, which suffocates the food, and metal colander types, which allow the fruit-flies in, or rattan domes---which allow some bugs in as well. The mesh keeps everything out and allows the food to breathe and not "cook" under a glass dome. I like that these are all white and not the bright colors which don't go with EVERYONE'S decor. Someday I may get smaller versions of these domes, and maybe a super large one, but these right now are the perfect size to cover most dishes you will need these for. I personally think they don't look that great, but I have to give five stars because I can't think of a way to improve upon the existing design. These mesh covers even fold away for storage---what a huge help. And of course, these are designed to protect and preserve food, which they do a great job of and who doesn't need that?! I use them if I cut up a watermelon in my house and snack on it over time, and I will be using these at my next outdoor picnic. These resolved a huge issue with bugs, very well, and I'm grateful for that!!! Great for my sunflower sprouts May 10, 2014 Birds love to devour my sunflower sprouts! So, I cover the trays with these and voila, no birds! I will be getting more of these to keep the fruit flies away from my ripening fruits. Easy to store when undone. Does not take much space at all. Great for the summer to keep the bugs off your food while eating outdoors January 23, 2013 I purchased these in the summer last year. I think becauseit was such a hot summer we had a real problem with flies. We also had a hornet nest somewhere nearby but couldn't find the source. We like to have a lot of parties outside and these screens where prefect for keeping the bugs away from the food. Everyone complimented the great idea and wanted to know where I got them. They are a nice size so you can cover a pretty large plate of food. | 49% No more Bugs September 19, 2017 Great way to keep those annoying bugs off your food when serving and eating outdoors Completely satisfied with it May 10, 2016 The product I received is exactly the same product as described and as pictured. Completely satisfied with it. Yes, it is very thin and lightweight and could blow away in a strong wind, but so will paper napkins. If you're concerned, drape a folded towel over the top (as I've done) to hold it in place. No, it is not bear proof, but it is great for keeping fly's and meat bee's off the food, Same for leaves, etc. I've used similar products and, with reasonable care, they will last through many uses. Excellent Product!! July 3, 2015 This tent was everything during an outdoor graduation cookout for my daughter. It covered a table of food successfully keeping flies and other creatures out and away from the food. Delivery was excellent! Simply Beautiful!! May 9, 2015 There's nothing worse then getting flies on your food. But more so the one I got was so beautiful I couldn't believe that it was made for covering food. It was more like lace.. very pretty. I use them for my cakes. OMG I Love it! August 22, 2013 Everyone at my BBQ Loved My cover and asked me where I got it, So be prepared to sell more and stock up so you have them for all my relatives that are looking for them on Amazon... lol Thanks so much~ Finally a Net That works and covers all The food at once~~~Great Transaction! Good Product June 28, 2013 I ordered the food umbrella for my evening, garden wedding. I used it to cover a 1/2 sheet layer cake. It was definitely big enough if then some... If you do a lot of picnics or barbecues this is a must have - order a few! Well worth the 14 bucks. | 56% These little things are awesome and will save you on a summer's picnic night September 19, 2016 These little things are awesome and will save you on a summer's picnic night. Pull a few of these out and cover up those hamburgers and dishes of potato salad and all you're worried about flies will disappear. They are so easy to use and so easy to store that I plan on buying several more of these. Well they are lightweight, they are heavy enough that they don't blow away in a heavy wind. They are a little fragile however so one must be careful when putting them up and taking them down so as to not break the string or tear the knitting. but liked the idea of getting more than one for the ... August 20, 2016 We purchased these due to the fact it was a 4 pack. We have seen them in the stores, but liked the idea of getting more than one for the price. Out of the four, we had one that wouldn't work at first. It was a little bent and wouldn't lock in. With a little reshaping, we were able to get it to work. The covers are nice. We put them over our salads in the Inflatable Serving bar. It worked out great! On the table we place a towel under the item so that the cover rested on it. This took care of any gaps so critters couldn't crawl in. They pop up easily and and clean up easily. You then push on the button on the top and pull down. They all four store nicely in their box. The box is small, so it takes up very little room and they are ready for the next party! The Pop Up Mesh Screen Food Covers couldn't be easier to use or store. We highly recommend these and are very happy with our purchase. I really liked having these out for our outdoor parties July 28, 2016 I really liked having these out for our outdoor parties. They did a great job of keep bugs off and away from the food. I happen to like the way these sit over the other ones we have purchased. In the photo it is the bottom left cover. You do need to handle these with some care to prevent breaking them when you open or close them, don't try to force them or you will break them Food on the inside, fly poop on the outside July 25, 2016 Allow me to paint a picture for you. A picture of fly poop. On your food. As you know if you read the book, Everyone Poops. Flies are no exception. And if you've ever owned a bird you know that animals with short alimentary canals poop a LOT. Well just think how short a fly's alimentary canal is! The more you think about flies' alimentary canals, and fly poop, the more your mouse-clicky finger is moving involuntarily, Ouija board-like, to the Add To Cart button.I don't like eating fly poop. You don't like eating fly poop. Nobody likes eating fly poop except maybe other flies and who am I to judge them. But they can eat their own poop someplace other than on my food. These little pop-up nets will keep the flies and their poop-flavored seasoning off of your food. The garlic powder is enough, amiright? If you're still reading and haven't already bought these and closed your browser and disinfected your entire kitchen because of all the fly poop talk, well, I guess you like fly poop. Maybe you're an entomologist or possibly an etymologist in which case you can explain why it's not "insectologist", but I digress. YOU may enjoy fly poop on your food, but I'd bet a week's wages (after taxes) that your BBQ guests do not. The odds of two or more fly-poop-likers being in the same place that is not an entomology convention are, like, a bazillion to one against.Do your guests a favor, and buy a set of these nets. You can wear yours like a hat, ya fly-poop-lover, while everybody else has a good laugh, relaxed and secure in the knowledge that their food is poop-free.We used these camping, during, apparently, The Great Fly Invasion, and they did the job well. One of them got bent out of shape by someone who hadn't figured out how to close it, and it was easily bent back into shape. Two fellow campers said they were going to buy a set immediately. Best $11 I've spent on camping equipment lately. These are big and seemed pretty sturdy. I could see them being blown away ... July 8, 2016 I bought these for an outdoor party that never happened (moved indoors due to weather). BUT when I received them, I opened them to check them out. These are big and seemed pretty sturdy. I could see them being blown away in a strong wind though.I held onto them rather than returning because I think these will be great for future parties.Plus this was an awesome price for 4, compared to other sellers. Perfect for the party. June 7, 2016 Came packaged just as shown they are made of good quality and worked perfectly for covering the food at my son's birthday party. They pop open easily with a little tug of the string and close just as easily. 4 to the package so definitely worth the money I have priced these a few different places and found them to be the cheapest here for how many you get. I am very satisfied with the item and the purchase for what I needed them for I got them in a timely manner after my order was placed. Hope that they last through several uses and can either stand many parties for my family. I am overall satistified with them. | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 23% Four Stars August 29, 2017 Worked out great for camping. Food stays covered and when your done they fold up and are reusable again. Worked fine July 20, 2017 The covers worked fine. Thinking round or varied sizes would make the table less cluttered looking. Good product September 8, 2016 Perfect size for most dishes, easy to use and attractive on outdoor buffets to keep the foodbeez away. Kids think they are cute so they remember to put them back on the dishes! Okay Product August 10, 2016 I like the size of these tents but I am a little upset because the holes of the netting are still large enough for fruit flies to be inside. I tried them indoors so I have yet to see how they will work outdoors. ... few outdoor parties this year and these have been awesome at protecting the food from flies July 28, 2016 So far we have had a few outdoor parties this year and these have been awesome at protecting the food from flies. You do have to be careful opening and closing these, if you try to force them you will break them. The didn't keep every fly out as people were lifting them off and putting them back on but they did a great job at keeping the majority off and I feel better leaving food out. | 16% Four Stars August 24, 2017 They are what they are. But they're cheap and have a decorative lace trim. Kinda old ladyish they were appreciated! August 3, 2017 these work well , perhaps a little bit flimsy to open and close. lots of coverage area and height. They were really a life saver at the pic nic keeping flies off of the salad and meat trays. Kept our food safe from flies and yellow jackets September 22, 2016 These things have saved several picnics and camping mealtimes for me and my friends/family. Summertime is always great weather for being outdoors, but with it come flies and yellow jackets. These food tents kept everything covered and safe from flying insects. The key is just making sure the sides are all touching the table, so that there isn't room for anything to sneak in. If you use them right, they work really well. Great to cover food / drink while outdoors August 3, 2015 They work perfectly as described. I agree with several reviewers that it is not intuitive for how to open and close the mesh nets, but once you figure it out they are very easy to operate. Couple of pointers on what could make this product even better 1) There are tiny gaps at the bottom rim of the mesh, all around. A determined insect could find it's way into the mesh through those gaps! 2) The bottom rim could have been provided a better / heavier lining - this would have made it look better, and also added some weight to the whole mesh cover. All in all, for this price, it meets my needs perfectly yes, I needed it to keep stink bugs off ... May 1, 2015 yes, I needed it to keep stink bugs off my fruit; although the bottom all around does not fit snug to the surface it is on, so far no stink bugs which are numerous in our area & in our home have not yet got to the fruit this week. Thankful that I found these & ordered them. They are also the right size to fit my upper bar area of our Island in our kitchen where we place our fruit. | 14% Need weights August 3, 2017 Yes there're light weight so I added weights to them using a barrel swivel you can fine at a fishing store. So you sew barrel On first then you can put on how heavy of weight you what so it doesn't blow away. If weights are too heavy just watch when you pick it up It's good for keeping things covered September 27, 2016 It's good for keeping things covered. Just a little bulky. Don't know where to put it when I take it off the food. This food cover was large enough to cover the trays ... July 3, 2016 This food cover was large enough to cover the trays on the table. This really helped by having the food visible and protected. Good with some issues August 18, 2015 Big enough to fit over a whole table. Problem is, once up it keeps collapsing to one side. I may have to tweak the wires a bit to get it to stay like it's supposed to | 18% One of my fave BBQ accessories March 2, 2017 These are such a great idea. You'd never know how much you need them until you have them. These are a bit flimsy but they're inexpensive and get the job done. Protects my pies from flies October 16, 2016 Haven't yet needed to use more than one, but I have used that one several times already. I make pies a lot, and use this to protect them from the flies. Yesterday I had a snack mix that needed stirring every so often for a couple of hours and the screen cover fit over that large bowl too. Great for outdoor cookouts August 9, 2016 Great for outdoor cookouts, picnics, keeps all bugs out of the food. Love using them. Some of them not made level all the way around and bugs, flies can get in if not even with the table it's sitting on. I had a couple not working properly, so check to see if they are in ok condition to use before using them. Keep flies off food. August 1, 2016 For the price these are super duper. Used on July 4th along with the blow up ice buffet that we bought on Amazon. It keeps flies off the food BUT make sure you have all four legs firmly in ice or flat surfaced. Will not hold up to strong breeze but like I say, great for the price. Easy fold for storage, delicate however July 7, 2016 This worked great, but they are delicate. Be careful with them as the mesh is delicate as is the metal prongs to stretch it. They can get stuck a little at the top where you extend them. They store well and fold flat and come in a thin easily storing box. They work fine, will probaly last two seasons I imagine September 18, 2015 They work fine, will probaly last two seasons I imagine. But didn't pay that much so fine with it. In fact I bought two earlier in the season at Bed, Bath and Beyond for the same price and the same type of manufacturing but I @ Amazon I got four for the same price. Could not see any difference. I will replace when these bite the dust. | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 15% one of the four bent on us after a few ... September 25, 2016 one of the four bent on us after a few uses because the metal to create the umbrella for the mesh is cheap, but overall they work as intended. Mesh gets caught on umbrella frame August 31, 2016 Tents do the job of keeping the bugs out, but they're annoying to open and close because the mesh gets caught on the edges of the frame. One must pick the mesh out of the frame every time the tent is open or closed. Cheaply made - you get what you pay for but they do the job August 3, 2016 These are extremely cheaply made. There is a pull string that pulls the umbrella open but 1 broke before it was even able to be used. THe other 3 are ok, while they bend out of shape very easily, they still did the job. Three Stars January 16, 2016 Does not lay flat so flies can get in easily. Pretty cheap but you get what you pay for. | 11% It works well and is easy to store September 5, 2017 It works well and is easy to store, but the design is a little different than shown on the product pictures. The bottom is rimmed with lace which makes this look like it belongs on my grandmother's coffee table. I find that look cheesy and would not have bought it had I known. I would recommend this for anyone needing to protect food it comes ... August 19, 2017 I would recommend this for anyone needing to protect food it comes in handy to keep flies off in or out of the house Cheap, has frills, shipped slowly from China October 24, 2016 These are cheap and took like 3 weeks to ship (from China.) Also, they have frills on the bottom. They look like cheap parasols for a baby doll for a 3 year old child. I'll keep them but I doubt they will last us very long, and I feel a little silly with the frills. You get what you pay for... October 16, 2016 These are ok. They work, but they are definitely flimsier than I had expected. I have to open and close them very gently so that I make sure I don't bend the metal or tear the mesh. So far they are holding up with gentle use, but I don't anticipate them lasting very long. Seem Fragile But Time Will Tell October 1, 2016 Lace trimmed food cover xs two making them an inexpensive way to protect food outdoors and fruit flies indoors. Fold and pop up like an umbrella with ease. Easy storage/small footprint in drawer. Great for camping/RV. Not having used this product yet I am giving it a 3 star rating. Hopefully they will last but the price is right however they came from China and took the usual time to travel to their destination. The listing did not have country of origin.. | 12% Garden use September 10, 2016 I actually used this in the garden to cover some seedlings. Worked pretty well until they grew over 2 feet high. Giant umbrella! July 21, 2016 This thing is enormous! It looked a bit small in the photo but when it arrived today we unfolded it and it is giant! Works just like an umbrella! Going to be great for our party picnic! Okay as long as you don't overpay. July 6, 2015 This item is much larger than I expected, but I suppose that is my fault for not paying closer attention to the dimensions which are provided in the description. I can see it being helpful for covering a food display/buffet, but there won't be much (if any) room to also sit and eat at that table and as we purchased this for camping, that could be a potential problem. The product I received was slightly different than the picture in that it was more of a white lace than netting. The other packaging was rather dusty though the product was fine and clean, though there are two smallish holes in the netting. This is "you get what you pay for" so I wasn't expecting much more and at $8 I am sure I'll find it useful on one of the side tables or such, but at a price any more than that I would not feel the quality or functionality would warrant the price. Shipping was prompt and within the window provided. The Seller did an excellent job of having them delivered on time and the ... July 8, 2014 I ordered 2 of these Giant Tabletop Food Covers for a large 4th of July party that I was throwing. The Seller did an excellent job of having them delivered on time and the items worked well for that day, Unfortunately, they are very flimsy and upon attempting to close them they both broke. They are excellent for use of coverage as a lot of items will fit under them. However, they probably will only last one or possibly two uses. Giant Outdoor Tabletop Food Cover May 16, 2014 I gave this only 3 stars because, we had a hard time getting this to stay in place over the food we had at our outdoors party. This is a VERY GOOD IDEA, don't get me wrong, I am still very happy I did purchase this Giant Food Cover.I just could not get it to stay in place because I was trying to put this over our "Inflatable Salad Bar", that held our cold foods. average May 5, 2014 I purchased 4 of these food covers for a block party, they aren't good quality, The vendor charged $4.49 shipping for an item that was $5.99. I assumed that I would be charged a one time charge of $4.49 for the shipment but was charged $18.00 in shipping for 4 items totaling $24.00. The items were in plastic bags and taped together for shipping. 2 of the tops of the covers poked through the plastic. I would look for a better value next time. | 11% Its just ok, Made kind of shabby, but ... October 12, 2016 Its just ok, Made kind of shabby, but works for camping. Tent were ok! September 20, 2016 They are a little flimsy. And I was glad that i bought 2 sets, because 1 broke when I opened it. If you need a lot, and not going to use them often, for the price, they did the job! Good for 1 or 2 uses August 1, 2016 Good for the price, but really poor quality. One of the tents broke on first use, I was able to jerry-rig it back together to work, but definitely frustrating. It was cheap so I probably won't bother with returning.I wouldn't recommend purchasing if you want something long lasting or of good quality, but if you just need it for an event or two, these would work for you. Picnic Perfect October 2, 2015 Nice for picnics or eating outside. Pop them open gently as the wires are not very robust - still work, but I have one that is a little wonky. Good food covers! August 17, 2015 These are pretty ingenious food covers, they pop up and back easily and don't take up a ton of space like the permanent ones. The mesh is very thin and the bottom edges are pulled tight when popped open, not the most durable but will last more than a few cookouts. Cleaning is out of the questions though, I'm sure you would tear it trying. | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 10% Needs a re-deign! September 26, 2017 I ordered this product and was very excited to receive it but a few of the pop ups were stuck and when I went to attempt to open them they fell a part. Great concept but poorly made. Can't close once open. Half a dozen tried to ... May 22, 2016 Can't close once open. Half a dozen tried to close with no luck. Flimsy little umbrella. January 8, 2016 The mesh keeps popping off the metal curved bars and is not easy to get it to stay there. This is even before I used one of these. | 10% Fragile October 31, 2016 They are a good size but are pretty fragile. If you know how to work them and can be careful they are great, but unfortunately my wife broke one and my kid bent the other all in one day. It sticks out like a sore thumb June 6, 2016 Ummmm, I broke the first one before I realized I had to pull the string. I order so much online when I get boxes in I rarely look at instructions.... It's cheaply made and very fragile. Kind of large wish it were taller and not so long.... It sticks out like a sore thumb....only reason I gave it two stars is because the first one broke within seconds of being open... My fault most likely for not reading instructions... And also because there's still a gap at the bottom where fruit flys could still get in. Very disappointed. Very cheaply made November 9, 2015 Very disappointed. Very cheaply made. The netting on one was also torn slightly. Not enough to matter or send back. Just totally disappointed. So light weight the wind will blow these off the food unless I use something else to hold it down. Don't recommend. | 9% Came broken September 20, 2016 Came with 1 bracket broken. It still was able to do the job, but I would look at a different on for the price. first time opening it up, it was so flimsy ... August 25, 2016 first time opening it up, it was so flimsy that it bent. I had a hard time straightening it out. Once bent, it doesn't cover all the food very well anymore. It should've been made a lot stronger. It broke September 16, 2015 Straight out of the package I opened it up and it broke. We were able to prop it open for the picnic but it will go in the trash now. NOT AS ADVERTISED. May 5, 2014 I should have pay attention to the reviews. This item was not that costly but the other reviews were right when they said it really does not keep insects out. There is no way it could keep insects out. There is a huge gap at the bottom for insect to crawl through. Covers a really large area but can be made to last longer August 13, 2013 I liked the fact that this food cover keeps the bugs away and it spans to cover a large area. We used this for a outdoor picnic and it covered three aluminum casserole pans along with a two platters. It will get the job done and it will cover almost half of a rectangular plastic/wood folding table. It collapses similar to an umbrella, but the metal is sturdy as aluminum foil! It is a great concept and idea, but poorly executed. I will look for a sturdier version and I rated two stars because we were only able to use the product one time. | 4% Buy with caution November 15, 2016 Pretty cheaply made. One of the wires was bent when I took it out of the package Too fragile! September 5, 2016 While these food covers are useful, they are so fragile that my 6 year old cannot open them without breaking them. Doesn't make her feel good and doesn't help me with the flies. | 0% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 6% 12x12 inch, not 14x14 as described March 1, 2016 Not as described, much smaller. Only 12"x12" not 14"x14". Also very flimsy and cheap. | 17% terrible hard to close it May 2, 2017 awful..tried opening it...did it ..closing it back up..I bent the whole darn thing, its terrible.....was only seeing how it worked Fruit Fly Invasion September 11, 2014 I bought the screen food cover tents to cover fruit trays away from those pesky fruit flies. Due to the size of the mesh, it took only several hours for the fruit flies to enter the mesh and attack the fruit. If you want to protect food from house or garden flies or bees they would work great. But, if you want to protect your food from fruit flies, by a tent with finer mesh. Horrid product, stay clear. August 4, 2014 I have never posted a bad review of any product, but this product absolutely is horrid and not worth the three cents that it cost to package it. I bought it to keep the fruit flies away, but the holes in the net are so big that he fruit flies seem to now enjoy their snug new home more than ever - it is trapping them inside. Stay clear of this for any insects smaller than a large standard issue fly. Amazon, refund, refund!! | 16% It wasn't expensive so I tossed it in the garbage. Hopefully it was a fluke August 8, 2016 It broke upon opening for the 1st time. It wasn't expensive so I tossed it in the garbage. Hopefully it was a fluke. Poor Quality April 24, 2016 Bad quality product. The steel wire broke while I was opening it for the very first time! I emailed the seller for replacement or refund and didn't get a response. Buyer beware! if i paid a dollar or two at the most I wouldn't feel so stupid. April 30, 2015 overpriced...i have others from other makers...assumed they are all the same...they aren't....big mistake on my part...i can't imagine this lasting very long at all....if i paid a dollar or two at the most I wouldn't feel so stupid. I would not recommend this item at all July 6, 2014 Product was very inferior. I open it for the first time on july 5th. It was damaged before the wrapping was open. I would not recommend this item at all. | 11% Very, Very poor quality. Cheap Junk. December 27, 2016 Very cheaply made. I ordered a total of 12 and 5 of them were junk right out of the box. They arrived the day before the big party so I just sucked it up and used what I could. Not worth the hassle to return for the few dollars they cost. So, I just took this one in the shorts. Very unhappy with this purchase August 1, 2016 The items are not worth the purchase. It appears that any type of wind would blow them right off the food. There is nothing to hold them in place. Also, one of the food covers was broken when I received it yesterday because the little metal is so flimsy. Gap below edge of net November 5, 2015 when set up there are small gaps under the edges of the nets. We had gotten these for fruit flies in those gaps made them useless. I was very disappointed with this product August 3, 2015 I was very disappointed with this product. these covers were hard to open & jut about impossible to close They were advertised as folding up to take up very little space -- this does not happen. | 0% There are no reviews yet |
