Now, they may not be professional grade, but if you are tired of paying massive prices for teeny-tiny tubes that last until halfway through your painting, these are for you. They are smooth and creamy, blend wonderfully, and have great coverage. No complaints about the actual paint themselves. Only complaint is the seals on 2 of the paints were broken and the paint leaked a little during shipping. It was double boxed with air bags so I'm not sure if it was from our 100+ degree heat or being handled rough during packaging/ shipping.Also, I was glad that with my $52 purchase of these paints, that I also got a free cat bed.I've added several pictures for paint color, bottle size and brand, canvas showing coverage, and so you can see how the paints are sealed and boxed. | Perfect for crafts!July 15, 2017 This is great for doing faux stain glass or any craft for that matter. You can add some glaze to it and thin it out and make the color more transparent. Doing this makes the paint go 10 times as far. You can also bake it on for a permanent finish! Awesome! The paint REALLY needs to be shaken before you open it otherwise it is a inconsistent thickness and opacity. But no matter what it is thick, and if you do not spread it out evenly on the canvas it will crack. You will have plenty of paint if you have a small class to share it with. If you add water to thin the paint it seems to lay more evenly. It is a fine paint for beginner painting and is fine for learning with. The colors blend well and pop on the canvas. It's a basic acrylic paint! What you see is what you get. For practice and repetition, learning brush skills, this is a no brainer. I will buy this paint again for craft parties and small classes where I'm supplying the paint for everyone. The white appears to have been watered down as it's consistency was considerably more runny than all the other paints. I also noticed Michaels wasn't carrying this brand any longer and wondered if quality was the reason why. I purchased some Liquitex Basics paints from them and have been very pleased with their quality for the price (they often have 2 for 1 or 50% off sales). Very good, except the WhiteMay 21, 2014 All the colors I've tried so far have the expected thickness, except the white which is very runny. Even the extra white I ordered was runny. The yellow and white need numerous coats to show up on top of other colors Tacky ConsistencyJune 5, 2017 These are okay acrylics for crafts and student/hobby use. All colors were vibrant and rich except for the Yellow (Chrome Yellow) which was nearly transparent. They mixed well and I was able to create a very nice range. I'd love to give these paints five stars but the problem is the tacky consistency. I suppose it's some filler used in these. Tacky like glue, straight from the bottle even when mixed with some water or acrylic medium. When mixed with acrylic gloss medium they turned from tacky to chalky and dried before I could get the brush from my pallet to canvas. Not for True Artist Use- Great for Schools, Kids, etc.May 15, 2017 I teach paint nights and thought this was a great deal... which don't get me wrong it is. HOWEVER, this particular acrylic paint is probably more suitable for kids, children's projects not for actual artist's use. I say that only because the pigment is not very dark, so multiple layers were needed, and then it wouldn't dry fast enough to layer the painting properly... NOT good for a paint party. Again, excellent for kids, schools, day cares, etc... but not good for true artist use. Okay paint - good color and spread, but cracks once dried.January 19, 2017 Certainly worth the money spent. I bought these for an event with several people. 10 of the 12 bottles exploded upon opening for the first time... after the first few, I finally got the hang of opening it with certain napkins, etc. present so it wouldn't get all over everything. That was frustrating. The colors are pretty and spread nicely on a canvas. But once the paint dried, it cracked a LOT. Especially where it was thickly painted. I haven't had this same problem w/ other acrylics. So I would say it's great for kids projects and/or practice, etc., but just know that it may crack once dried. There are only 12 colors but you can obviously mix them to get many more. The pain seems decent quality, especially for the price. Unfortunately, the bottles seem rather cheap and the white top was completely off the bottle with white paint everywhere. Most of the other colors had tops that were cracked on top so the paint would come out from the sides of the cap. The paint is still useable, but I am going to order tubes next time. All of the paints cracked on drying. Also, two of my sons painted their cub scout pinewood derby cars with them and the paint on them cracked as well. I'm not an expert in paint so the mechanism of this cracking escapes me.....the consistency does not! All painted projects were kept indoors in the house the entire time. One StarJanuary 26, 2017 The paints arrived with broken caps on several bottles so the paint leaked all over inside the box. The broken caps will not close now so I will have to transfer the paint to different containers. Don't waste your money!September 2, 2016 I bought these for my beginning acrylics painting classes, thinking they were really nice colors and would suit our purposes well. How wrong could I be? They do not allow for any true blending when applied even wet on top of wet, and even worse, if you painted one color on top of an already dried color to layer (such as clouds in the sky, that sort of thing) the new layer literally lifts the old one off the canvas! My entire class was a shambles and I will NEVER recommend this product for any purpose.
