great little RV camp grill
September 19, 2017
great! has actual heat control. all the other ones I had for my RV use had terrible heat control. basically they were full power on and off. This one uses the cast grill for the main heat source which is a very good thing. I had no flame ups or burning of meat. You must pre-heat the grill to warm up the cast iron plates (about 5-10 minutes) for best results but from then on its very good . easy to clean the plates as they are enameled. fits very well in storage are in my RV in the depressed well area. Of importance is that the gas valve is not protruding out in danger of being damages. The cheaper units are really sticking out 6 inches or more. I was always afraid of putting anything close to grills in the stage area for fear of damaging the gas hookup.
Great little BBQ for camping or for a single person.
September 11, 2017
This is a great time saver! We always hated how long it took to get the coals ready when we are camping. When we get back from hiking or boating we don't typically want to wait an hour to get everything ready and cooked. With this BBQ we were able to start it up, get the food cooked and get on to partying! It got fairly dirty so I would suggest spraying some non-stick spray on the grill before using but for a few times a year it was perfect! The little grease catching pan on the bottom actually worked too!
Awesome little grill.

Great product. Have 2 of these already and they are so good I give them for gifts. My oldest one is over 10 years old and I use it every two weeks.Burners, when needed are available on Amazon. Highest Recommendations!
Love it

We used it around the county. cooks evenly like the big Webers. We cooked whole chickens, burgers, steaks, veggies, pizza, fish etc.
I love this grill, perfect for up to four people.

I love this grill, it's perfect if you are cooking for up to four people. Weber is great quality and this grill is no exception. This grill will use either type of the disposable gas canisters (a nice thing if you want to take it to the beach), but I bought an optional hose to hook it up to a standard refillable tank too. You can also buy a folding cart, but I already had a suitable cart. The best part is the super high quality Porcelain enamelled cast iron cooking grates, and it's in two pieces so it fits in your sink, awesome! With only one stainless steel burner at 8500 BTU, I was concerned whether or not I would be able to properly burn my steak, no problem, but you do want to follow directions and preheat for 10-15 min. it's perfect. I was on the fence, whether I was going to pop for an infrared grille or this one, but the clean up and the reported malfunctions on the infrared grille reviews scared me off. I am very happy with my purchase, and as time passes I know any needed replacement parts will be available.

Got lucky in that Amazon had a lightening deal on this grill. I had a charcoal type in the past and wanted a new grill but gas type for use when I needed it and not having to find charcoal. I usually do grill in the fall and spring but wanted to have a grill compact for when the disasters hits. Handy, Compact and store all the parts inside the grill till when I need it.

Just got this little beauty in the mail. Assembled it in about 20 minutes. Will be cooking on it tomorrow for the he 4th of July on the boat. Not sure how people are saying the directions are not clear, I had absolutely no problem assembling it. For the price you cannot beat the heh is little portable grill. I recommend it!

Cut the hole out of my outdoor patio table, set it right in without the base, secured the camping propane tank to the table, filled it with fire glass.

Boom, cheap outdoor propane table thing. Lowes charges like $100 for those things. Screw that, this is $25. Suck it lowes .

Nothing seems more durable than a weber

Had an original that caught fire. Don't like the giant Q on the lid but it works well and is easy to put away.
Perfect size and shape for our balcony
July 6, 2017
Perfect size and shape for our balcony, and it works well. I could only wish that the 1 lb. propane canister could produce more heat, or that the burners could be closer to the grill. I suspect also that the grill would be hotter if it were porcelain enamel open grillwork, rather than the more massive - yet excellent quality - cast iron. Cheaper grills with open stainless grates may get hotter, but can't possibly compete with the Weber for quality and durability.
This new one is great just like the last one

Have used this grill for years out on my condo deck, finally had to get a new one after 7 years. This new one is great just like the last one. Starts right up, nice blue flame and even cooking. Expect to use this one for another 7 years.

Questionable build quality
September 14, 2017
I have an old Char-broil grill very similar to this that I've have for many years. The old one was the standard version where this the "Deluxe." Both seem to be pretty similar design though this one has a few nice benefits.

1st are the screws that keep the legs from folding under the grill. A nice feature. 2nd, and most important to me, is the push button start. Being a non smoker having a lighter laying around to light the old one was always a problem. With this one it will no longer be necessary.

The reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is build quality and quality control. There is a wind blocker on the inlet venturi. It has a tab welded to it so you can hold it in place with a screw. That tab was improperly installed and the screw hole on the tab was inside the guard instead of outside. I drilled a hole in it to fix the issue, but it is a bit difficult to drill because it us stainless steel. The second, and bigger problem, is the handle for the lid. When I installed the screws even the slightest of tightening caused the threads on the plastic handle to strip out. The screws were to short to have adequate engagement. Also, the plastic isn't really strong enough. I used longer screws and one side still stripped out. Tomorrow, when I have time I am going to install thread inserts. That should fix the problem but should also be completely unnessesary.

Once those issues are felt with I expect this grill to offer years of service just as my old one did.
Works perfectly & great value.
September 10, 2017
Pretty good. It works perfectly. Food grilled on it taste amazing. Only gripe is the quality. Don't expect it to last for years. The high heat will make the paint flake. Metal is on the thinner side. Its still a great value though. I see myself using this for about 2 years. I recommend getting the standard not the deluxe one. Only different is the ignition switch.
Great Little Grill for the Price
September 8, 2017
Ok so I bought this grill to have at my house when I want to cook quickly (usually use charcoal grill). I have 2 children and when friends come over for playtime I don't have the time to spend 30 minutes creating a charcoal fire to throw on a few burgers or hotdogs. I also anticipated taking it with us camping this past summer. Our of the box my husband spent maybe 20 minutes putting it together. Not difficult but have to take your time. Mine was in good shape with no missing parts or dents. It did ship in the original box and the box was all beat up but inside it was fine. I took it camping with us 2 weeks ago and it worked out great. Used it to cook corn on the cob (in foil) and hot dogs and hamburgers. Perfect amount of space for the 5 of us - cooked corn then put on meat. I always spray my COLD grill grates with non-stick spray (Pam type) and that makes clean up so easy. Agree that you definitely need to put something under the bottom to catch grease etc. I used aluminum foil sheet as we were camping. The heat was evenly distributed as far as I could tell. The piece of metal that is over the flame and below the grate is definitely thin so not sure how long that will hold up - I sprayed that also with the non stick spray out of the box to help with clean up. After cleaning it I let it dry and spray it again to get ready for the next use. The turn on/off knob is a little wonky so I unscrewed the propane after cooking just to be safe. My igniter has worked fine so far. For what I paid for this grill through Amazon I am so happy with it. I would like to get another to take with me on trips and have one to keep at the house. Treat it with care and don't expect it to work like a grill that costs hundreds and you will be happy with it.
Nice little grill
September 7, 2017
When I first saw the box, I thought for sure I had misread how big this grill was going to be, because of how compact it was. I soon learned it's due to it coming in a thousand pieces (okay that MIGHT be an exaggeration). It was fairly straightforward to put together following the directions, however it took almost an hour. In the end I had the grill I had expected, sitting fully assembled in my living room. I bumped my review to 4 stars for 1 reason. Because screwing on the handle is one of the last steps, and for whatever reason, I can only get one screw in. The other side will screw into the handle just fine when you do it apart from the lid, but add the lid into the mix and it strips when I try. The predrilled hole must be off just a little bit. My husband says he can muscle it in so it's not a deal breaker for me, but not ideal either. The rest of the grill and all the parts seem to be quality made.

This item came very quickly. Assembling it was very easy. Following the instructions step by step made things much easier. The package of screws were each identified properly. The easy open backing was very good.

The bbq works great. It is very easy to operate. The quick start was a nice surprise that works great. The price makes it very affordable. I would recommend this for all campers who want a small bbq to take with them. There are smaller ones of course, but, you can put more food on this one.

Not bad, but might not be enough for some
September 8, 2016
It only has one burner, so the temperature it reaches isn't very high. It worked okay, but Ii'm not sure under what circumstances, or how often, you might use it because it wasn't hot enough for our needs, or it took very long. beside that, not a bad grill. It's small, convenient, and portable, but those are the few pros
Is not the same Weber quality.
February 22, 2016
This was a replacement for my 5 year old Q100 which ignitor started to fail along with other issues. This grill is a good size for those cooking for one and I wanted another. I was happy to see the grate was now coated and 2 piece. The ignitor appears more substantial but less cosmetic. OK by me. I was glad to see the side tables from my old grill were easily put on my new one. The burner appears better here as well getting hot quicker. The only thing keeping it from a 5 star rating is the quality issue of the label being mis-applied and hanging half off. (see picture) I contacted Weber and was told there was nothing they would do about it. All I asked for was a replacement sticker that I could put on correctly. I'm thankful it is non-functional but I would like it to be correct. I wonder if I would get the same answer for any other quality problem.UPDATE: After using a couple times I noticed the flames were excessively orange. This is when I found out there is no air adjustment on the burner! I don't care as long as it works OK. Weber customer service said to disassemble the grill (remove the burner) and clean any debris out of the burner tube. This grill is a month old and has been used maybe 3 times. I did clean the burner tube air screen of what appeared to be dried excessive flux from where the screen was attached during manufacture and the problem was solved. During testing I noticed that the flames are surging like a bad regulator.I am disappointed that I had to disassemble and repair a brand new grill and recommend anyone buying one do it before using. This is the third problem with this unit. Weber quality is not what it used to be. Is it worth the premium price anymore? It will certainly factor in to my next buying decision.
Good for a basic grill

Good for a basic grill, but there is really no spot where the heat is less (if you want to keep something warm while other food finishes cooking). It meets our need without taking up much space. Get the cart to help move it around.

Not quite the Q100 replacement
July 27, 2014
Bought this to replace a Q100 that I regrettably did not pack for our extended summer vacation. Really missed it so I bought this as the Q100 is no longer available. Why was I not supprised that is much lighter, does not feel as solidly built and more expensive? I am deducting one star for this: hope it is as durable as the Q100.It was not fully assembled as the description says: the top needs some assembly. No instructions were included but it was not too hard to figure out. What is unfortunate and why I deducted another star is the Q100 has side trays but the Q1000 does not. These are very handy. In retrospect I see you have to buy the Q1200 to get these and that is $30 more. Not worth exchanging it, especially as it will cost me $25 to ship this one back. Hopefully I can find these sold separately for not an outrageous amount. However, the Q100 is the best BBQ I have owned and the first use of the Q1000 did an equally good job.

Prepare for long assembly and bring a lighter because ignitor button doesn't work
July 10, 2017
OK for a little grill at this price but long assembly (was not expecting and took it on weekend vaca only to discover I had to spend over an hour assembling) and the ignitor button does not work so a lighter needed to be used. Also, when carrying it the legs pop open, causing everything but the lid you are holding by the handle to crash to the ground. Once you get it put together and lit it works ok but I wouldn't buy again.
Get a Weber.

We've had a few of these and liked them. Except this one. Not sturdy. Kind of flimsy. Piezo lighter system not quite right. Returned it for a heavier Weber. Using a lighter is fine.

March 21, 2017
It's decent, it works well enough, but the construction is a little rickety. It's definitely not the most stable portable grill. However, it cooks pretty evenly and will definitely do the job for a camping trip for 2-3. I like the legs lock around the top to keep it closed, especially if you're storing it in a place where there are bears (although make sure you still store this is a bear box or away from your camp site if that's the case).
Gets the job done, but cheaply made with defects out of the box and very poor warranty support
November 2, 2015
Cheaply manufactured to last a season or two before needing replacement. As has been noted in other reviews, the lid handle is the product of a faulty manufacturing process and one side was stripped out of the box so the handle could only be attached with one screw, which soon gave up and forced me to handle the lid with oven mitts. The other handles aren't attached much more securely. Also, the finish is not porcelain like similarly-sized Weber grills, it is just high-temp paint so the finish scratches down to bare metal easily. One of the ignitor wires is about 2 inches too short to be attached where intended. The burner has a hard time lighting or staying lit in a breeze, and sometimes the flame jumps to the regulator air intake. On the bright side, it was easy to assemble, and does a decent job of cooking steaks and sausages in a reasonable length of time with the lid closed. I wish they'd spent and charged a few more dollars on this item and made it more durable. UPDATE: Filed a warranty claim with Charbroil for new lid handle and they requested proof of purchase (for a $1 lid handle???). I sent copy of POP to customer support e-mail address, they acted like it was never received, and closed my claim without sending me a replacement lid handle. Glad I saved the original packaging so I can return for a full refund and replace it with a competing product which will hopefully withstand one use without breaking.
Good for the price
January 22, 2015
Good for the price. However, the igniter doesn't work (seems to be a problem with many of these grills). I had to use a long-nosed butane lighter to light the grill. You have to assemble this thing. Not complicated, but there's a lot of screws, nuts, and bolts. Make sure you have a phillips screwdriver as all the screws have that head. Also need a pair of pliers to hold the hex nuts. The hardware (nuts and bolts, etc.) are packaged and well labeled and parallels the instruction manual well. The images on the manual (black and white) aren't necessarily clear (cheap printing job). And some images were hard to discern. The ground wire from the igniter was was way too short and I found it difficult to attach it to a fitting. Nevertheless, the igniter didn't work anyway. Once the grill got hot, it cooked well. I broiled some veggies and they got some nice grill marks. You have to turn the grill on high to get any real heat or cooking on this thing. Otherwise it just warms stuff. This is a small grill, and good for if you have a small party (like 2 or three adults), otherwise it'll take forever to cook a meal, or you'd need several propane canisters. What is lacking is anything to catch any grease. That's seems to be a design flaw. Grease will just fall to the bottom of the grill, and you'd have to clean it out, but the burner element gets in the way, so for a complete clean, you'd have to get a screwdriver and pull that element out to get to the bottom. A hassle. So far I haven't had to since I only cooked some veggies. But a greasy steak or sloppy ribs would cause a mess: the burner protector plate doesn't really catch grease but simply protects the burner.

Good for hot dogs.
November 15, 2016
Bought this because of it size, price and brand name.Well made as you would expect from Weber.Biggest complaint is the cooking surface. The open portion of the grate consist of elongated slots which makes up about 50% of the surface, while the rest is closed to protect the burners from flaming up while cooking. If you like your food a little charred before you take it off, it's not going to happen with this grille.I've gone back to charcoal. The Kingsford Mesquite can be used more than once if you extinguish the air supply immediately after the first use and gives a wonderful flavor to beef and poultry.
... a friend who had one of these that worked awesome. So I bought two of them
January 22, 2016
I had a friend who had one of these that worked awesome. So I bought two of them, both sizes. The small one, had such a low flame, it was hard to get the burner to light. If it was windy, forget it. It wouldn't cook a hot dog. This was with it hooked to a large propane tank with a hose attachment. So I ordered a set of tiny drill bits on eBay. Number 60 thru 80 bits. I drilled the burner holes out only one size larger. The original holes were not all the same, this evened them out and opened them up a tiny bit. Then, I removed the regulator. I found the bit that fit the jet hole, and then found the next size up. This was a tiny adjustment to enlarge the jet hole. After this, I had a nice blue flame about 3/4 inch high and my grill works great. But, I shouldn't have had to do this, Weber should have done it.

The Good, The Bad and the un-flavored....
April 28, 2014
Maybe I am naive but Weber has a reputation for being one of the premium barbeque grill companies on the market. When you say Weber...You think Barbeque, Right? Silly me. I expected that this grill would give my hamburgers, hot dogs and yes, even the occational steak the savory, smoky taste of barbequed meat. You know what I mean, that all the way through flavor that makes you forget the potato salad and be oh - so - glad that you are a carnivore. So aparently Weber doesn't add the magic to this little grill to make that happen. It is basically your kitchen broiler, but for outside use. No fake brickets, no stainless do-hickey that is a flavor enhancer, no yummy rib eye. To be fair, here is the good. The construction of this baby is solid and appears to be well made. I have return this item and will continue looking for a small grill that actually gives me that barbeque taste I am longing for.

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone
June 30, 2017
It's ok. Nothing to scream about. This is cheaply made. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. It has a few good things about it how the burner is bolted down. Spend the money on a better portable grill. Made in China.
Handle broke second use
May 31, 2017
The plastic side handle broke after two uses, cannot be repaired. Otherwise the grill size is roomy, great little park or beach grill. Top handle of lid gets extremely hot when the grill is in use, you'll need a mitt to handle. Not self lighting, match required.
Sucks but cheap
December 17, 2016
If you want a cheap grille for cooking once in a while this is OK. You can make a couple sausages or burgers but that's about it.
The top is a pain to use, a hinged hood would be easier. If you open it for more the couple seconds the burner gets too much air and flames up, even after you replace the top and turn down the burner. To keep it in control I have to shut off with top off and relight when back on. The heat control knob does next to nothing, turning it down doesn't reduce the flame much.
I gave it 2 stars based on it's price, that's the only positive thing about it.

September 28, 2015
first of all...the outside box that it came in was in great condition but when I opened it up you could clearly tell that the grill box had previously been cut opened and retaped which meant to me that some one had shipped it back. When I opened it the grill bottom was crushed on one corner and I had to take pliers to bend it and I still can not get it correct so that the cover will sit on it properly. The grill is bent and does not lay flush on the unit. I also had to redrill one of the holes in the handle before I could screw in on the grill. When finally all assembled...the grill did fire up and work. I had no time to return item as I was going camping with it the very next day so I'm stuck with it. I hope that someone in authority will read this and perhaps give some kind of credit on this item.
Not Impressed
August 11, 2014
I read many reviews on this product and figured it was worth a shot to purchase for the price and for the brand. It came packaged great and on time, no bad review there. On the other hand, the product itself is not a good one. Char-Broil is normally a good brand and puts out quality long lasting products, this is not one of them. I understand it was $29.99, but I think that is too high of a price tag. We assembled the grill and one of the screws for the lid handle was already stripped out before it was even put into use on the grill. We were able to get it to work and it seemed to be sturdy. The first time we used it, we took the lid off once it was warmed up and the handle broke off completely. There are 2 screws and washers to keep the handle in place and it still broke, and no, the screws were not over tightened. The paint is cheap and looks cheap, not impressed with that either. I understand it is a "camping-type" grill, but I still was not impressed with the paint job on it. It cooked our food fine but used a lot of propane. Maybe I received a "dud" but all-in-all this grill is not worth the money. Spend the extra money...

Noticed I was not the only one with same problems with regulator. This replaced the same model that had become impossible to clean to my wife's satisfaction. Now we have a new, clean one, but I can't use the 20lb canister, nor change settings on regulator with small 14oz canisters. Since sending this back is too much of a problem, the best I can do is warn others that you must use small canisters and only one heat setting.

September 25, 2016
Bought mine March 2014 and the regulator just failed (September 2016). Can't use it. Out in the middle of a family vacation and we couldn't cook our food. Used it probably10 times over the last 2.5 years. It should last longer and therefore is a poor quality product. Won't be fooled again. Thank goodness for charcoal. Won't let you down like this thing just did!So I go to the Weber site to buy a replacement regulator and guess what ...they don't have them. I bought the grill, the stand, the cover, and 1 gallon propane tanks. I have over $400 into this setup and it fails in 2.5 years. Now its all total junk unless I buy another $169 grill. Shameful!! First time shame on Weber, and there won't be a next time. Loses cut, but I'm peeved about this junk outlay.
Weber Q Series Regulaors Have High Failure Rate
June 5, 2016
My Weber grill does not heat up enough to cook anything adequately. In discussing this problem with the company, they suggested that the problem was the regulator needs to "pressurize" before lighting the grill. The procedure for this is to turn on the gas and wait for at least one minute before lighting the grill, longer if the temperature is below 70 degrees. While this appeared to improve the performance of the grill, mine still did not heat up adequately, reaching only 250 degrees over a twenty minute period. It was then suggested by the company that the propane tank I was using has an "OPD" safety device that was malfunctioning and blocking the flow of gas to the regulator.I purchased a one liter propane canister and their was no improvement in performance, thus one assumes the problem is not with the OPD safety device on the propane tank since there is no OPD device on the canister.I then decided to purchase a generic regulator and some adapters to fit the 1/8" non-standard orifice of the Weber grill, based on a U-Tube video of how to fix a low flow Weber Q Grill. It should be noted there were 35,000 hits on this site detailing how to fix a Q series Weber Grill. After making this modification, the Weber Grill worked perfectly, heating up to over 400 degrees in twenty minutes. This tells me the regulators on the Weber Grills are of poor quality or perhaps poor design, and the customer service department either does not understand how to diagnose a defective regulator or they are just hedging. If your Weber Q series Grill does not heat up adequately within ten or fifteen minutes I would recommend tossing the regulator and getting a generic regulator.

Cheap Plastic Lid Handle
September 6, 2017
The handle is plastic and the metal screws that hold the plastic handle to the lid completely stripped out of the plastic handle during installation making the grill virtually useless unless you like burning your hands. Bought this one bc my old Char Broil (thats 5 yrs old) had the same problem. Was hoping the handle was metal this time around, but apparently Char Broil hasn't figured it out yet. Disappointed that such a small detail ruins the entire grill. Will have to bring ovens now or Jerry rig the thing just to be able to use it.
Even for the low price, not worth it.

I've had this less than a year and didn't even use it until this spring because of some backyard construction. It was fine the first two or three times we grilled but since then it is basically useless. At first, the flame would go out frequently during grilling. Now something is going on and we use about one canister of propane every time we grill and we are only doing a couple of hamburgers or steaks each time. I've had portable grills similar to this before and this one is just a lemon. I do not recommend it.

I was so excited to get this and use it for a tailgate. We got to the concert, opened it up, put it together and the regulator was broken. Had to search high and low for another one. Thankfully Bass Pro was in the parking lot and I was able to get a new grill. I tried looking for a replacement regulator for it but it's $15 and sold out everywhere!!!!! Not impressed at all.
It took three tries to get one that worked. ...Not after all.

It took three tries to get one that worked. first one may have been stolen from my porch, second one shot yellow fire from the vent. Had to ship the second one back. Third one is working.
Update. 6/9/16 The third one has started to do the same as the first hissing very loud and yellow fire from the vent. I just assembled and started using it and within 5 minutes the trouble started. Too late to return and so brand new it's going in the recycle bin. I'm not having a fire at my place. Don't buy this item from Amazon.
Do Not Buy!

Dangerous! The first one I bought had an issue with the regulator. When the dial was switched to the "off" unlocked position propane still flowed out. I had to actually unscrew the propane tank in order for the propane to stop. Char Broil actually sent a replacement out which worked fine for a few months. The replacement grill regulator will start up fine. After a few minutes however, propane shoots out loudly, blows out the flame, and the regulator ices over due to excess propane flow. I've tried several new tanks but it happens with each one. Char Broil needs to get these defective regulator issues fixed before somebody gets maimed or killed. I'll not be buying their products anymore. Scary!
