| Five StarsJune 8, 2017 It really works Great little machine.October 13, 2016 We spent over $5,000.00 for a storm shelter that we could not use due to it sweating then mold would appeared.We had it cleaned then purchased the dehumidifier.We now can use our storm shelter.This small dehumidifier was perfect for what we need it for. it has done great so far on two tripsMay 27, 2015 it has done great so far on two trips .it really seemed to work well on our trip to florida.wwe were gone twelve days.it was quiet to run and the places u could tell were heavy with humidity outside the little cup on the back would get about half full in a day. the airconditioner didn't have to run near as much and it was a lot more comfortable in our camper. Works okay. Predecessors lasted 2-3 years each. This new model doesn't have drain hose--manual empty only...April 29, 2016 I wanted to replace my broken Sunpentown dehumidifier with this one but was disappointed to learn that this new (replacement) model no longer has an outlet for a drain hose. I've purchased this product twice before and they typically last 2-3 years. I didn't mind the short(ish) product life but was pretty disappointed about the lack of a drain hose. Not sure what I'll find to replace it. Had a problem at nearly one year but works great (again)....July 10, 2014 I have had this unit for nearly a year and it has worked fairly well at removing moisture from a bedroom in a cottage. However, today I cannot get the water tank to remove for emptying!!! There is no release, no way to get it to slide out of the back. I suspect that the rubber plug in the top came dislodged and is preventing the tank from sliding out. I never had problems before. UPDATE! I slammed my hand against the tank and it dislodged, so I was able to empty the water out. So I have gone from 3 star to 4 star. It really fills up with water every 3-4 days. Fine for small spaces. Goodbye to the Musky SmellMarch 30, 2013 I bought this to use under my kitchen sink. It has always been very, very damp under there, giving the apartment a very musky smellany time all the windows and doors are closed. About once every 3 weeks I'll set under the sink and leave it running for 3 to 4 hours.It get's rid of all the excess moisture and the musky smell. I image this dehumidifier is only good for smaller areas (under sinks andclosets) given it's size, and it has worked VERY well for what I needed it for ! Great considering size & priceJuly 21, 2011 I was debating for a long time to buy and try this dehumidifier considering the different reviews this product received. The plan was to find a dehumidifier for my small bedroom to help with my allergies. I live in Southern California pretty close to the beach and the humidity outside has been between 75-95% lately. Which gave this product a great test: my thermostat told me I had 72% humidity in my room, so I started the dehumidifier. With less than 4 hrs the humidity went down to 62% and I had about 2 cups of water in the collection bin. As long as you are okay with humidity around 60%, I haven't been able to get it lower than 60%.Also, somebody wrote it is hard to empty the water, which I really didn't see. You can remove the top of the collection bin and just pour it out.The only draw back is, it is not too quiet. This is why I didn't give it a 5 Star. For me it works well due to sleeping during the daytime, so it actually cancelled out some of the outside noise.Overall, I think this product is worthwhile the price and size. | |

I use it on my boat, and it has helped to reduce the humidity level. I may move to a compressor model, but like that this runs on 12 volts and can run it directly off the house batteries. Decent non-heated space dehumidifier, but it freezes up below 40 degrees.December 22, 2015 I could give this a better rating if I were using it in a heated, indoor setting. But, I'm using it in a VW Westfalia Camper as well as a non-insulated workshop in my backyard. It does a good job of removing moisture in both uses, but freezes up on the condensation fins, anytime the temperature falls below 40 degrees. The intake vents are so small and so close to the aluminum fins that it bridges the condensation, which freezes from the air being pulled in. Other than that, they're a good value and, with the ozone feature, do a great job of reducing or limiting moisture buildup and mildew in damp settings. Not too effective, but could be worthwhile stillJuly 12, 2015 It does draw a little bit of water in a small bathroom (about 5' by 6'). It's not as quiet as I'd like it to be, but acceptable. After running it non-stop for 3 days, hoping that it's UV lights would help clear all the "wet" smells from the air, the smell returns back (there are no issues with drains, sinks, showers, no leaks, no mold or mildew visible). So basically the verdict is - this unit can't hurt, give it a try, but don't count on it being as effective as you would assume from its specs. It works fine its just a slow working machine. I have it placed in a building that the foundation weeps some. I have it in my bathroom and it is very humid in my house, especially the bathrooms. I have since bought another dehumidifier and it collects 5 times as much water as this does. I gave it 3 stars because it does collect some moisture, but not enough to really make a difference. I have it in a bathroom which is smaller than an 8'x8' room, so its not the room size that's the problem. If you just have a little moisture you want out of a small room, this is a great item and a great price. If you have a lot of moisture though, even if it is a small room, this probably isn't the product you want. Unfortunately, it barely collected any water, and then after a day or two, the fan stopped running, and I couldn't get it to reset by unplugging it or anything.I think this company has a problem with quality control. I have a feeling that the fan motor just burned out. I like the idea of using a Peltier junction instead of a compressor motor, but they removed any advantage of using this technology by making the fan really loud.If they would design a machine like this with a quiet fan motor then it would be worth having. Otherwise I would stay away from buying this. You might have to send it back like I did. This was the first product that I have ever sent back to Amazon, and I have bought a lot of stuff here over the years.The return process was painless though. I had more trouble packing it than anything else. The box had both this unit and my Omron scale, and the return needed a lot more packing material. I used a bunch of shredded credit card checks, that the stupid banks keep sending me, even when I never use them. Amazon must get a lot of shredded paper that they have to dispose of or recycle from all the returns.Tim | |

| Do not buy this garbage.November 21, 2016 After arriving 5 weeks after I ordered it, a week later the cable from the adapter to the unit wouldn't stay plugged in. Figured I'd just duct tape it there; that fixed it well enough.It's already stopped working. Still receives power, just won't turn on. Even when it did work, it really really didn't. Work well for 5 months...September 9, 2016 Quit after 5 months use.Please send me a new one.It worked well when it was working.It started getting louder, then quit.I need to have a reliable unit, please replace it or refund my money, and authorize a return, so I can buy a better unit. I thought surely this little guy could do the job. I love that it is small and compact, and that's part of the reason why I got it. I hate tripping over large pieces of equipment and didn't want something clogging up our tranquil space either. Well, it sadly doesn't work hardly at all. It had never been full. I don't know how with such high humidity in that room! It is running like it is working and a tiny amount of water is in the bottom, but not much.
