Five Star Reviews: | 54% Great Product, Pleasantly surprised. November 25, 2016 Was concerned about what the quality of this product would be especially with the relatively low price I paid for it. I will say I have been pleasantly with the quality of the product. The sharpness of the blade the balance in your hand and the effortless of use were all important to me and this product does not disappoint me. I am disabled and the better the tool the easier it is for me to use. Great product. Something I say about very few products. Would recommend this product for any avid gardener. Solidly made. A great value for the price. November 19, 2016 I use this hoe to mix concrete, so it takes a beating moving both forward and back. The connection between the head and pole is solid and can withstand a lot of pressure (a complaint I have about other hoes). Tough as nails February 17, 2016 This tool is tough as Nails. Nice size and sturdy handle. Can't beat the price for this kind of quality. Good sturdy garden tool! January 7, 2014 Good sturdy garden tool, I gave as a Christmas gift and my brother loved it. Better quality than you can find in local Lowes or Home Depot. | 56% Love it September 2, 2017 Perfect! The head comes separate and you put it on. The craftmanship feels like a quality rake and it works well.. Great Rake June 5, 2017 I bought this for my husband and he absolutely loves it. He said the handle grip is really good and the quality is great. Would recommend this and the price was is very affordable. Good product. Arrived quickly as advertised April 27, 2017 Good product. Arrived quickly as advertised. Very sturdy and great for yard work October 19, 2016 Very sturdy and great for yard work! We live in Arizona and I needed something that would pull the weeds out of the rocks and this was perfect | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 16% Good hoe for fairly light use. April 25, 2017 I like this hoe. It seems sturdy, though I have not used it very much yet. Works well for hilling potatoes or digging small holes in our sandy soil. There is absolutely no cutting edge, hence only four stars, but I don't really need to cut much in my garden since the soil is just sand and wood chips. I have a feeling that if I was really doing a lot of wacking, chopping, and digging it wouldn't hold up for a very long time, but it works great for the price and for my situation.feldmanfamilyfarm.weebly.com This is a great yard tool September 15, 2015 This is a great yard tool. The best hoe that I have had in a long time. Removed a lot of vines and debris with it. Great Purchase. Good hoe April 19, 2015 Fair price. Good quality. Seems plenty serviceable. My only complain is the blade rusted in the first day. Just the edge, but I had leaned it against a freshly painted white-wall and the next day there was a rust strip from the edge of the blade. Sort of a drag, but it's a yard tool. Excelent for light duty jobs December 20, 2014 Very light weight hoe. Excelent for light duty jobs. It comes dull so you have to sharpen it. I reccommend buying a file if you don't have one. good June 27, 2014 I thought it had a shorter handle. It will do just fine. I guess it will be better on my back. | 18% Good rake would buy again May 8, 2017 Got the rake on time. The quality is good and heavy duty. It's not overly long so if you are taller it gets to be a chore being bent over raking after awhile. But it does the job and was a great price. already knowing that this is not the strongest garden rake ... February 25, 2017 already knowing that this is not the strongest garden rake, I used gorilla glue and I will run a bolt or a screw into the metal ferrule (area were metal and handle meet also area that I poured glue into). Good enough rake. May 6, 2016 Handle will not hold up for heavy work. Had light work for the garden. Sharp enough. Worked fine. Very good price point. Prime delivered in a couple days. Worked fine. I am satisfied. Great smaller rake March 23, 2015 Seems like a very well constructed SMALLER metal rake; ideal for smaller gardens. Other reviewers were correct, it doesn't have a bolt through the handle, but it seems well constructed nonetheless. By the way, in my recent experience, Big Box stores are MUCH MORE than purchasing this from Amazon! I liked the look of real wood (instead of a fiberglass handle); the finish is darker. Great rakes for the price October 9, 2014 I bought two of these rakes two years ago because I thought that at the super low price, they would not last very long. I was wrong. I have given them pretty hard use over the past two years and they have performed very well and it looks like I will get much more use from them. Don't get me wrong, there are heavier rakes out there, but for the money, you just can't beat these. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 7% Seems good for the price. May 9, 2017 This seems well made enough for the price. However, it comes was absolutely no sharpening on the edge, so I used my grinder and a file to put an edge on it, but I was surprised they did not do this is the factory as they could have done a better job pretty easily I think. flimsy July 21, 2015 a bit flimsy, but works for lightweight gardening. I wouldn't purchase again if I was doing a significant amount of gardening and I can truthfully say that this is the only one in which I was disappointed. When it arrived July 18, 2014 I own a tool shed full of True Temper Tools, and I can truthfully say that this is the only one in which I was disappointed. When it arrived, I gave it the usual cursory inspection, and was happy with the well-finished wood handle, hoe was just the right size, so I proceeded to put an oil film on the head to keep from rusting. That was when I noticed the blunt edge on the cutting part of the hoe! No cutting edge at all! I fully expect to dress the edge of every cutting tool I purchase, because they are never sharp enough for me. However, I never expected to have to grind/file the entire cutting edge on a new tool! Forming the edge did not take too long for me to do, as I have all the tools required. I further noticed there was no rivet holding the head onto the handle. I shall see if this works, and will fix this problem if necessary.. No, I am not going to return the tool. I expect True Temper just let this one get thru final inspection on error. As I said, I like True Temper Tools, and this has not changed that. Not riveted January 13, 2014 The head is only friction fit onto the handle. Not riveting the handle is a huge oversight for this type of tool/handle.That said, putting in a rivet or screw isn't that hard to do and once I did that, I feel confident that this will last for a good amount of time. | 7% Defntely a light use rake January 16, 2017 This is definitely a light use rake. I was using it to move around rock and quickly realized this handle was going to come off. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 4% Two Stars November 4, 2016 The wood on the hoe is checking already. I would return it but it would cost way to much. | 3% Not as sturdy as you'd think August 25, 2017 Not as strong as I would have liked. I used it to rake some dead plants that I'd previously mowed over and it bows/bends if you hook ivy roots (not all that thick either). The joint from the rake and wooden is it good. May 1, 2017 Metal rake portion pulled out of the handle after a couple uses. The joint from the rake and wooden is not very good. Frustrating... great idea poorly made October 23, 2010 I love this rake but the metal end is poorly connected to the handle & will inevitably separate. Somewhat fixable with duct tape or whatever, but you can't really yank the rake like you want to. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 19% Junk July 6, 2017 Handle broke off after 3 months. Very disappointed in quality. Have never had this happen before. Just doing regular yard work nothing heavy! Disappointing and not well made. December 4, 2015 Don't bother! The wooden handle is just stuck into the hoe...first time I used it the wooden part split and came lose from the hoe. There is nothing holding the handle so that it will stay attached. The hoe is not bad, but overall it's a cheaply made product. I should have and will go out and buy a good hoe at Home Depot or any hardware store. One Star April 19, 2015 Don't buy this hoe. Broke after husband used it twice. We'll replace it and see what happens. Had to return it because it broke. February 17, 2015 I wanted to like this hoe. It is a good price and it looked like it was built well. Maybe I hoe too hard? As soon as I got it I started doing all of the edging in our back yard and then I tackled the whole garden that was completely overgrown with weeds. Our soil is really rocky and hard. About halfway through the garden the red metal thing (that covers up where the hoe is inserted into the pole) slid down onto the hoe. At first I didn't think that was a big deal. I just pushed it back on. It kept falling down as I was hacking away at the ground and weeds. It clanged around a bit and then I would get annoyed and put it back again. The real problem was that when I finally finished the garden I noticed that the handle was split where the hoe goes into the pole. When I slid the red thing down all the way I could see that the crack was really bad and the hoe could spin around.I realize that I am hard on tools. That's why I had to buy the most awesome shovel in the world made of solid steel (Fiskars 46 inch steel D handle shovel, also available on Amazon.) And our ground is not soft at all. So maybe this would work fine for someone else, but it didn't work for me. Luckily I was able to return it to Amazon. I was sad it didn't work out. | 16% Not durable July 15, 2017 Rake head fell off when raking through long grass. It looks like it was just held on by the pressure of the metal wrapping the stick with no other parts, so it seems like it would have fallen off at some point, but in my case it was pretty early in the life of the rake, only a couple months in with occasional use. It was light weight, that was nice. I had used a weed killer and a lawn fertilizer ... June 9, 2017 I had used a weed killer and a lawn fertilizer on our yard. Bought home in December. Lawn needed care. Purchased this rake. I am 69 years old / can't put a lot of pressure on a rake. The head of rake came off in about 30 minutes HORRIBLE!! May 4, 2017 This is the worst rake I have ever used! 1st one broke in 10 minutes just raking small stones... The 2nd lasted 20 minutes wow what an improvement! The metal rake section is just glued in to the handle with which looks like craft glue. Broke after 15 minutes! April 27, 2016 Just like several other people have said here thE metal part broke away from the handle. Absolutely ridiculous. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
