Bought this washer from Sears Outlet a year ago. Haven't had one problem with it.

i read the reviews and was afraid to get this washer.Have used it several times and think it works well. Just cannot throw clothes in it.Must place largest things on the bottom in a circle. With no center piece, the water comes up from the center and leave the center empty.So far it has worked great and I use the Deep Water Cycle and like the clean cloths and do not find it ruining my clothes like so many reports.

I purchased this washer brand new from my local Rent a Center two months ago and I love it! I had an older type washer and it just wasn't washing my clothes well at all. I love all the options this washer gives. I have fairly enjoyed the "touch screen" buttons. I love how big the capacity is and how much it can hold! I have had a $30+ decrease in my water bill just by using this new washer. It's amazing! I love the child lock for the lid. I have to littles and this makes me feel much safer and better. I like the pull out compartment for the detergent and softener. My clothes now come out so clean and there's no residue left over onto the clothing. My household is 5 people and this washer is perfect for us! I definitely recommend this washer! 🙂

We purchased this washer to replace a front loader. I really don't know why so many bad reviews. Granted when I was using pods or powdered detergent there were problems with spots on dark clothing. Since I changed to a liquid He detergent { Tide or All no problems. As far as the clothing being tangled nothing is worse than a front loader in my opinion. I am very careful about how I load the machine and everything comes out clean ,I adjust the buttons to what I am washing. Just today I did a queen down comforter and sheet set and it came out beautifully . Once again I can't believe the negative reviews maybe whirlpool has some suggestions to help everyone out.

We've had this machine for a month and so far we like it. I almost didn't purchase it because of the negative reviews. I hope I don't regret it. This machine is very quiet. Pausing it to add more clothes only takes a second. The spin cycle does not shake my whole house like my agitator machine did. My clothes come out with more water spun out of them so it takes a shorter amount of time to dry them. Our clothes come out clean and they are not twisted together. We don't have large loads to wash, maybe that makes a difference. Many of the reviews are for machines that have been owned for at least a year. We'll see how ours holds up!

I bought this two days ago from Sears Outlet. Although the Sears Outlet experience wasn't good due to an extremely rude and disrespectful manager, the machine is doing well so far. I've washed at least 6 loads, using almost every cycle option available, including a king-size comforter. It is a very quiet machine and fun to start because the buttons are musical-- it's like a little piano! The tank is HUGE and it wrings everything out far beyond any other machine I've ever used. It significantly reduces drying time (as long as you don't overload your dryer-- mine isn't a matching dryer and is smaller so I have to consider that difference).The lid stays open on it's own even when not set all the way back. Be sure to include open-cover measurements when you are measuring, too. You'll need about 2 feet above the machine height to ensure proper fit if placing under shelves. A good machine. I recommend this washer to anyone who wants a big tank at a very reasonable price.

I bought this in Feb 2016 and it's been a good washer so far,only thing is hot water not coming out,called LG coming out today. I bought this at Best Buy. Mine gets clothes clean. I don't understand all of the bad reviews.

We purchased this washer about three years ago. It seems to do a good job of washing clothes, although we've had to use the second rinse feature routinely to take out all of the detergent. Otherwise, we're happy with it. Recently, however, it simply stopped operating. After loading clothes and detergent and hitting the power button, it simply froze up and refused to run the cycle with the lid in the "lock" position. Called Whirlpool's help line, but the wait was interminable. Since it's out of warranty, we contemplated calling a repairman, but first I tried the old trick that seems to work with anything having a computer chip: I just unplugged it for a few minutes. Plugged it back again and, voila, everything works. So, if your washer quits on you, try unplugging it. Chances are its brain simply needs a short rest to clear the cobwebs. If the problem recurs, I'll amend this review.

Before purchasing the Cabrio, I had no problems with Whirlpool. I purchased a refrigerator and a dryer. No problems at all! I liked the Cabrio style without the agitator and the sleek look, but I should have done a more thorough research on this unit! Like the other reviews, this machine doesn't last long. My Cabrio didn't last six years. The problem is the ECB!!!! Luckily I purchased a three year warranty that covered the first faulty ECB(Electronic Control Board) that went bad in the second year. I watched the service technician replace the faulty ECB with a new one. The service tech popped two secure latches and unplugged the old one. He replaced the washer with a new ECB. The tech showed me the service call and repair work that would have cost me almost $400 without the warranty. Unfortunately though, the ECB went bad after two years and the warranty expired at which time I scrambled to have this one replaced. Everywhere I checked, the ECB specific to my Cabrio is obsolete. I even contacted Whirpool in Chicago and it was confirmed by the Whirpool Rep that the ECB boards are no longer available. The Whirpool Rep said, "Sir you can check EBay or Amazon. The ECB will be used and or refurbished with no guarantees. Sorry, just scrap it and buy a new one." I will never purchase another Cabrio.

Still running after 1 year. That's the good news. This thing is LOUD and what I hate about it the most. As someone else mentioned, if the load is not evenly distributed, there is loud knocking as the basket hits the sides of the machine. I got this one because Consumer reports listed it as a best buy. I am looking for an older machine at this point and will write this one off. No way am I paying for repairs. (The matching gas dryer is running well still and I have no complaints.)

We have one similar to this. It is terrible. The clothes get tangled, there is not enough water & they do not get clean. I get so disappointed every time I use it. Go to Whirlpool's Facebook page & see the many complaints about these washers! The company should be sued & have to issue refunds. I have to re wash the same clothes over & over!!Update: do not but this washer or you will be so sorry. They truly don't work. It never has. Clothes just don't get clean. I just can't believe it. Here's my update. Just got off of the phone with Whirlpool. As a Whirlpool family- this company makes my heart hurt. I never thought I'd be so angry & hurt. They offered platitudes, "laundry tips & for ME to pay for a serviceman to come out & look at my washer. Incredible. Never again Whirlpool. I just wish I could stop others from purchasing these washers. It's such a big purchase for people. And to have it not work. My senior citizen mom literally cries when she uses hers because it doesn't work. She's started washing clothes by hand😔. She's 74 years old!!!

Buy a Washboard with this washer - you'll need it! It does NOT clean clothes.I only wish I had read the Amazon reviews before I purchased this washer two months ago. Our 17 year old Maytag washer rusted out necessitating that we replace it. My wife and I went to all the appliance stores and read all the reviews on those store websites and thought this was the best washer in this price point. We were told the front load washers develop mildew odors which gets into the clothes so we opted for a new top load washer. We purchased this washer two months ago. My wife didn't say a word about the poor cleaning ability of the machine until after the return period had passed thinking that it must be the soap or something that she was doing wrong. We've tried every detergent we could find thinking it would help the washer clean our clothes. It doesn't. We've played with the controls trying to find the "right" setting to clean the clothes. We haven't obtained any real success. We've played with the size of the loads and even put like clothing in each load. We've even run many loads through several times. The washer simply does NOT clean the clothes. Plus it does not get bulky clothing - such as winter coats or blankets washed separately - fully wet leaving us with "half" wet items which are still dirty. The agitator - if you can call it that since it is so tiny - rubbed holes in our expensive sheets (we wash the sheets separately from other clothes)! I now take my shirts to the drycleaner. We generally wash clothes in "deep" water setting and sometimes have to wash them several times to get them mostly clean. I've tried to "fool" the machine by adding water on my own only to have it empty out the excess water. After two months my wife and I want to replace this washer with a different one - even an older used Maytag.Like I said, you'll need a washboard and washtub if you purchase this washer.

We were trying to be eco-friendly and got this washer to save water. What a disappointment! The wrinkles are so deep - impossible to 'hang and dry' or 'dry flat'. and it pulls the clothes so hard when agitating - it is leaving small holes in our knits. What a loss!

MIne is just over a year old but clothes don't come out clean. I use the high efficiency detergent and I have white spots on black or dark colored clothes. The detergent is blue, so I don't know what it is. Almost looks like lint cooked on the clothes. Yesterday I had to wash dress shirts again because they had blue spots on it...came out with more spots. I even tried diluting the detergent. I emailed whirpool and they told me to follow directions on detergent....all two steps. I don't over pack machine. Like other reviews this was rated as a good machine in Consumers. I won't be buying a whirlpool anything again. I have so many clothes that are ruined because of this machine and I HATE to go clothes shopping. I am not happy at all. I bought this at Sears. Whirlpool should remove this product from their product line.

This machine is just awful. When it extracts water, it does a good job. But on light loads, it will cycle back and forth on extraction and it won't do squat.If you can find a machine with an agitator, buy it.

Worst purchase ever. Died after 5 months. Worst service ever. Repair people don't know how to repair anything and Whirlpool customer service people don't know anything about customer service. Parts take 7-10 days to order, it's been 2 weeks and more parts are now on order. Looking at a minimum of 3-4 weeks without a washing machine. Whirlpool has spent more money on parts than the cost of replacing with new. Will never purchase another Whirlpool product, they make it very clear they don't care about their customers.

This is the worst washer EVER! First time I used the bleach reservoir, the next load after came out with bleach spots on it. I called LG and the guy in the other end told me I have to run the 'clean' setting every time you use bleach. What a waste of water and time! Also, doesn't use enough water to clean your clothes. Litteraly some of the clothes come out with dry spots on them. Wish I would have read reviews before spending money on this washer! I bought the matching stream dryer and it is junk too, instead of steaming clothes they come out with obvious wet spots on them...waste of money and LG customer service is very bad also..good luck speaking to someone who actually speaks English....

We cannot use the high spin cycle and constantly have to redistribute clothes inside the washer because it goes out of balance very easily on the spin cycle. Also, after only one year of use, our LG top load washer started making a squealing and grinding noise during the wash cycle. The machine is out of warranty and the repair estimate is $500. Do not waste your money on an LG washer.

I decided to write this review to save people from what I had to go through. Do not buy this product. This is the worst washer I have ever used. It has rusted in less than a year and LG would not honor their warranty. They replied to it as cosmetic, but as of October 28, 2016, the washer is two years old. It has rusted to the point that the top portion of the washer bounces up and down when the washer is unlevel due to the rested out clamps that has broken a lose. Meanwhile, the reservoir for the bleach is falling down into the outer portion of the drum due to the severe rusting. In addition, the washer's built in leveler stop working after one year, and the washer is continuously unlevel. I can put a load of clothes into wash while leaving the house and when I get back the washer has bounced all over the kitchen floor. I have spoken with LG multiple times about the problems with the washer, and they refuse to fix it. Furthermore, the washing machine had a recall that was supposed to be fixed. I called LG when I got the notice, and they told me to call a number to schedule the repair. It called the number and scheduled the repair, and it never got fixed. LG is a company that only thinks about getting the customers money and not the customer. LG has over one thousand complaints, and each of the customers is having the same problems. [...]

Public service announcement: My mom's LG washer exploded two months ago (only used 2 years). Purchased from Pacific Sales and they had purchased extra extended warranty. Neither LG nor Pacific Sales will refund them.

My wife washed whites last night and dried them as normal. This afternoon I put in my clothes after work (colors). Most everything was ruined by bleach--new Dockers and a couple of nice shirts and socks. When we called the number for the LG warranty, the person explained that we needed to run the self-clean cycle twice a month, and this problem was caused by build up. I have had the washer for 3 weeks. Build up? Really? When my wife disagreed, he simply repeated the recommendation that we run the self-clean cycle twice a month. (Also, there was laughter in the background.) On a side note, the washer does not do a good job of cleaning clothes. I was thoroughly unimpressed. Also, everything came out extremely wrinkled. I am returning this piece of garbage or dumping it in a landfill, and I am never buying anything with an LG name again.

A pair of underwear was somehow sucked through a gap in the tub and wrapped around the shaft destroying seals during the spin cycle resulting in the next load flooding the house. This occurred Christmas Night. LG support has been absolutely terrible as they were unable to even schedule an authorized technician. Instead I got a list of their authorized technicians and lined up the first available appointment myself. Currently we are 2 weeks without a working washer and repair men have been to the house 3 times. They diagnosed the problem on their second trip and then were sent for a 3rd trip because LG requested photos. Today LG said this wasn't covered under warranty and we are waiting for a supervisor to review. So if you have underwear that you plan to wash sometime, you may want to reconsider purchasing an LG washer. I paid 749 dollars for a washing machine to flood my house on Christmas night (51 days after purchase) . I will be posting my review on every site that sells this washer as this is totally unacceptable and consumers should be informed.
