Five Star Reviews: | 89% Finally the perfect size mat! January 15, 2017 I bought some amazing large aluminum baking sheets but found it difficult to find mats that would fit the entire pan. The pans are half the size of a commercial pan. I took a chance on these mats in hopes they would be the right size and they fit perfectly!!! The mats reach every corner leaving none of the pan exposed. I cook everything from veggies to cookies on the mats and never had anything stick. They clean up beautifully!!! With four pans and all the baking I do these mats have saved me tons of money in not having to purchase parchment paper that never fit. I will buy more should I ever get additional pans. Great nonstick cooking. Excellent for homemade pizzas too. July 30, 2016 Have had a chance to use these a few times this week and they work great. What I really like is that they automatically release things that would normally stick. I like to make little low carb pizzas out of healthy tortillas. Typically, when the cheese runs off the side a bit it gets crusty and sticks to the pan so I have to scrape the pizza free with a spatula. Now that I'm using the mat, it actually pops up off the edge a bit and helps form a better edge to the pizza. They're super easy to clean and haven't put off any smell or flavor that I can detect. I didn’t review them at that time because I wanted to use the mats twice in order to make a determination of how effective they were.These are fine silicone mats. I’ve only used them to bake French macarons. My macarons turned out well. I now prefer silicone mats to parchment paper. The mats are easy to wash and dry.Tip: If you want your mat[s] to be dry, roll each one between two towels. In less than a minute, you’ll have a dry mat. April 17, 2016 I have seen some silicone baking mats others had and was reluctant to buy some for my baking endeavors but took the time to read the customer reviews and chose one. The Silicone Baking Mats by Velesco were of surprising quality considering the price I paid. They are thick, soft, flexible and appear to be durable. Nothing about them feels or appears to be cheap. I also use these to put my par-boiled Manicotti shells on in preparing (stuffing) them for the oven to be baked. Nothing sticks to them. If you purchase these don't be so narrow-minded to think they are just for baking a bunch of rolls on, they seem to have many uses, in my opinion. Great baking mats very well made November 23, 2015 I used to work at subway as a teen and had always remember using something similar to these baking mats at work to bake the cookies and bread on they were fantastic . Being in my 30's with 4 kids and baking a lot for them I wanted to find and order some baking mats so I searched long and hard and debated between which baking mats to buy off of amazon . Finally I decided on these which looked very much like what I remember using in the past . I am so glad I selected these as my choice they are exactly what I was looking for and are very durable and well made . Works as advertised November 5, 2015 These sheets work exactly as represented. They fit a half sheet baking pan, lying flat without curling. With a little fiddling they can also line a smaller pan like a roaster. I've used them under several kinds of foods, ranging from frozen fish sticks to beef roasts. In each case the mat was a heck of a lot easier to clean than the pan I lined with it would have been. They seem inert, with no detectable flavor change for the food cooked in contact with them. April 30, 2017 Do you hate when your potatoes stick to the baking sheet no matter how much oil you use? Do you like using tinfoil despite the safety concerns? Our lives are completely changed now that we've found these silicone mats! We use them for baking everything, from cookies to vegetables to pot pies. Cleanup is super easy and nothing sticks to these. The olive oil is more seasoning then anti-stick when using these mats. My wife and I can recommend them enough. Buy em! Non-Stick and Slick! April 26, 2017 I love these! I shape and make bread on these mats and then slide the entire mat onto a sheet pan to bake the bread. I also roast veggies on top of these mats, using them like a non-stick liner for my sheet pans. Works amazingly! Perfect Cookies! January 6, 2017 I just received these today and decided I wanted to really try them out. So what did I do? I spent the day baking cookies on them! I did 5 dozen snickerdoodles, 3 dozen walnut chocolate chip, and 3 1/2 dozen oatmeal raisin. Every single cookie came out perfect.....except for the "tester" batch I started with. My snickerdoodles call for 8-11 minutes baking time. In my oven, on parchment paper, they take 9 minutes 45 seconds to be "perfect". I let the first batch go that long and they were over-cooked. Not burnt, just a little hard. My fault because I didn't expect the time to be that different using these baking mats. They take just over 8 minutes to be "perfect" using these. So I adjusted the time for the rest of my cookies and they are all delicious! The mats are extremely easy to clean. After using them this much in just one day there was no discoloration, they didn't burn like in pics of some of the reviews on Amazon, and best of all, I didn't have to continually change out parchment paper every time they came out of the oven lol. Heavy Duty Silicone Baking Mats January 17, 2016 Had a much thinner (and well used) silicone mat that was not really big enough, so decided to get a set of these for myself & sister-in-law (who does much more baking than I do). The two that are the same size each fit my large baking sheet and the smaller is perfect for the "toasting" tray. they are much heavier duty than my first one and I like the fact that it is safe up to 480 degrees. It is important to check for this as not all mats can go to that temperature. They are "non-stick" so it is important to note the directions say "DO NOT USE OIL". |

I have used these so far for baking potatoes, sweet potato spears, breaded fish fillets, and roasted cauliflower, and the browning capabilities are pretty close to that of parchment (takes a little longer). They are fairly easy to clean with soapy water and a sponge ( a little residue left over of the olive oil I coated the cauliflower with). Only used them once but they worked just fine. I like these silicone mats and they are more than serviceable; however, they are not the same quality as some of the other silicone baking mats I have purchased. Great value for the price September 28, 2015 These baking sheets aren't quite as good as the top of the line baking mats, but for the price, they are great. The first batch of granola I made with these resulted in the lower tray burning, which has never happened to me before. Since then, I've been careful to stir more frequently and not put these mats on the bottom rack, and I haven't had any problems since. I like to use silicon mats to line the counter when I'm kneading dough or rolling out dough/biscotti/cinnamon rolls. Makes for easy clean up! |

Not full half sheet pan size - leave gaps around the edges December 30, 2015 Do these work? Yes. Do they fit? Not quite. I've had the Amazon Basics version and the original Silpats - both fit edge to edge in my half sheet pans. These do not. Silpats and Amazon Basics are 16.5x11.5 and fit a half sheet pan perfectly and completely, with the corners snipped off to deal with the rounded edge of the pan. These are 15.5x11 and leave space at the edge. If you are trying to get the most cookies on your pan without crowding, these are not going to do the job. If your pans are a bit too small or non-standard in some way these may be the answer to your prayers, but for me they are going into the "emergency only" pile. Still working out the bugs December 15, 2015 So far, nothing has stuck to these mats, it all just rinses right away. However, mine seem to still have a sort of film on them constantly like I can see where cookies were. Not a huge deal to me, but would be nice if that weren't so. Also, seems like maybe things cook either a little faster or a little hotter on these than a cookie sheet alone. Still playing with times and temperatures to try to perfect my cookies using these mats. Otherwise, as far as non stick goes, these are great. They do their job. I will never scrub a cookie sheet agai. August 5, 2015 These mats do as they claim. They aren't as attractive as my kitchenaid silicone mats but no matter. The only issue I have had with them is they pick up the odor from the food that is placed on them.not so bad for cookies but I do not recommend using them for stinky foods (fresh beef/chicken dog food patties with fish oil in them.) I will need to soak them in bleach or vinegar to get the odor out. |

Two Star Reviews: | 1% One was defective. Other fine. October 28, 2017 One of my mats arrived wrinkled and you can see that the internal fibers are misaligned. It won't lay flat and I am afraid to use it because of potential uneven dispersal of heat. Some of the fibers are sticking out of the silicone. Poor quality assurance.The other mat in the package was fine. Do not last. October 6, 2017 They don't last long as all...after a handful of uses they don't clean well and just as well to go back to foil. Surprisingly disappointed September 2, 2017 When I used it for my macarons, they stuck to the sheets. I was incredibly surprised at the outcome since I was so excited about my first silpat purchase. I used again on cookies with the same outcome. Maybe I just got a bad batch? :( Needs better packaging July 3, 2017 I like the product but hate how the baking sheet was bent so one side of my macaroons are lopsided. The sheets should be packaged more carefully to ensure a crease doesn't form! Quite annoyed. Everything sticks. May 29, 2017 Arrived with one mat warped in the middle, so a whole row of cookies are always misshapen because of a big crease down the middle. Cookies ALWAYS stick to the mat. I do not have any trouble with macarons sticking to any of my other silicone mats, only these. Purchased for the templates on the mat, but are useless.Updated review: The seller did contact me and refund me for the mat that arrived with a big crease, so I added another star for good customer service, but this review is for the product, not the seller. There was a suggestion to change my recipe but I'm sorry, the fact remains that my recipe has worked without problems on two other different sets of silicone baking mats and it is only these that it sticks to, so for me, I do not like them.Reading through comments, I am far from the only person who received damaged or defective mats (several with the same crease as me, others with damage to the silicone material). These were much cheaper than other silicone baking mats out there, which made them appealing with all the great reviews, but I have owned more expensive mats for several years now that work perfectly today as they did right out of the box. I'll stick with those and use parchment paper for a template. | 1% Non stick surface suffered after first few uses June 7, 2017 I use these for 2 main purposes, with occasional use for other things. The 2 things I use them for the most, are roasting sweet potatoes and vegetables. I use no oil at all. They are stained from the sugar in the sweet potatoes but that doesn't bother me at all. What does bother me is the non stick surface has suffered in spots, and has been that way for some time. I end up soaking these overnight or sometimes 24 hours to get the stuck on parts off. I have resorted to scrubbing them which I am sure isn't helping but after soaking for at least 8 hours, I can't leave them sit for days. I have broken down and used parchment paper when I did my veggies last. That was so EASY! The veggies came right off! No sticking! I only wish these liners were that reliable. They are in spots, but if the edges if food cook and dry out, this spots stick badly to the liner. If the food Is wet it comes off. Maybe my expectations are too high. I am not sure If I will try another brand or just live with it. I use them about once a week on average. Final decision is to throw them away and go back to parchment paper January 17, 2017 I have never used silicone mats before now. I bought this set for myself to try out. They are okay. I usually use parchment paper which is good too. I haven't used them too many times yet. I'm NOT unhappy with them. I will continue to use them as I bake things. I have nothing to compare them to as far as silicone goes. The first time I used them was for cookies. They stained right away, in a couple places, and so far the stain hasn't come off. I don't recall if you can wash them in the dishwasher or not. They are kind of hard to wash because of their size but then a large cookie sheet or casserole dish can be hard to manipulate to wash as well. I'd like to compare them with another product that is similar to get a real idea for myself. I think they will last a long time. I store them flat inside the cookie sheets so they are basically ready to go the next time I bake. UPDATE: March 6, 2017 I haven't used these much but decided to throw them away after using them in a 415 degree oven to roast some vegetables. The paperwork for these states they can take temps higher than 415. After roasting my veggies and eating some, I noticed that I had a plastic taste in my mouth. Drinking and eating something did not make the plastic taste go away. I went and brushed my teeth and that did not help. It was much later that the plastic taste left my mouth. I put the rest of the veggies down the garbage disposal and put the 2 baking mats in the trash. Very disappointed. I did find them hard to wash by hand in the sink. I washed them in the dishwasher and they seemed to do okay in the dishwasher. I'm going back to parchment paper. ... nonstick and cooking the food evenly it worked out great. However November 25, 2016 For being nonstick and cooking the food evenly it worked out great. However, for some reason my food always tasted like it had a hint of soap in it. I use non-scented soap and I make sure to wash it really well but it doesn't seem to help. Am I missing something? Disappointed at these for now hoping next time they will work out July 6, 2015 This mat it suppose to be non-stick :/i made my first batch of macarons now i don't know if i made them wrong or what but, i didn't use a non stick spray or anything because i thought this mat was going to be perfect for them. So sad that they stuck to the mat so badly. i actually baked another tray with parchment paper the same day and that one did not stick at all. I will write a new review when i test these out again & if they do the job. but the other one is useless. not much of a value when only one ... June 15, 2015 one of the baking mats had a cut when it was designed. It was more of a hassle to return than just keep it. April 30, 2017 I have some of these by an alternate manufacturer & they are wonderful. I "thought" silicone mats would pretty much all be the same, but they aren't. These are awful. Merely roasting veggies today left them stained. My others don't get stained, I didn't know it was possible. Secondly, these are always slimy. Tried straight undiluted Dawn, tried running them through several cycles of the dishwasher (Cascade + Dawn) - nothing works to un-slime them. They're pretty gross. I'm worried now if they're imparting something onto the food cooked on them. Leaves a funny taste February 17, 2017 I love the idea of these mats. They do work wonderfully well. Food doesn't stick at all to them. Only thing is, my food now has a funny after taste to them. I even did a test: Baked a dozen cookies on the sheet with the silicone mat and another dozen without the mat. Also did it with french fries and sweet potato fries. Everything that was cooked with these mats did in fact have the funny after taste. I even cooked items on both sides of the mats to see if it would make a differerence...and nope. All had the aftertaste. We have all together stopped using them. Terrible for cookies March 12, 2016 Don't buy these. I use these mats for cookie baking only and I went back to using my old ones. These didn't bake consistently and my cookies spread on these.
