Five Star Reviews: | 64% It's a good universal sustain pedal September 13, 2016 It's a good universal sustain pedal. But one thing the cord is sensitive. I purchased this last year in September. The cord easily got in a short. When the pedal started gaving problems. I taught was it it's self. But it was the cord that had in a short. Worth the Money May 22, 2012 I bought this for the Casio LK280. The pedal is on a hard surface and doesn't slide. I hear no clicking or squeaking, it is easy to operate, feels like a real piano pedal and doesn't pinch if you wear socks only. The polarity was already set correctly for my keyboard so it was just plug it in and go. The cord is 6', more than long enough. For the Casio LK280, I found that a few of the tones didn't sound any different and it will sustain all notes played on any tones with a continuous sound such as organ, strings, etc., causing an unholy mess of sound. It works great for the piano tones, as it should, and is the reason I bought it. If you are looking for a quality pedal to sustain piano voices this seems a good one to consider. | 64% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 18% Good for the price, won't last forever. September 19, 2015 I purchased this pedal about three years ago, and it has just broken. The bottom no longer fits securely into the base, so when I press down on the pedal it no longer activates the mechanism inside, so it's pretty much useless. Duct tape wouldn't fix it. But that being said, I paid less than $20 and it has lasted over three years. It did the job well and it's definitely worth the price, though this time I think I'll upgrade to something a little bit sturdier. I recommend this pedal to anyone who plays their keyboard as a hobby and won't be too disappointed if the pedal wears out soonish. Also, I did notice the clicking sound other reviewers have mentioned. It didn't really bother me since I always have headphones on while I play, but some people might find it annoying. Good pedal for the money January 16, 2014 I just purchased a "Yamaha essentials" kit for my YPG-235 (portable 76-key keyboard) that also came with a sustain pedal, but this is worth the extra money as this one actually feels like a sustain pedal that you would find on an actual piano. Worth keeping the little plastic "sleeve" on the pedal too, because even though I don't wear shoes in my house and this is where I play my piano, I do move the keyboard around a bit and the sleeve prevents the metal from getting scratched and nasty from my feet and slippers. Good product for a digital pedal January 6, 2014 I find the feel of this pedal is a lot closer to the real thing than the standard square shaped rocker pedals that normally come with keyboards. The cord included is a good length. My only complaint would be that it's a bit heavy and takes a bit of heft to pedal down. It could be that I didn't remove the protective plastic cover yet, or that it still is in it's break-in period. It makes a noticeable noise when you pedal on or off. Cheap & easy! June 18, 2011 Not the best pedal out there, and probably won't be the most durable, but certainly one of the cheapest. I got this because my Korg pedal wouldn't work with my E-mu keyboard. (I did realize after I ordered the pedal that a Korg pedal WILL work with an E-mu keyboard if you connect the pedal's quarter-inch stereo plug to a cord connector, then plug a mono quarter-inch cord into that and plug into the keyboard. But I think this pedal works better--has a wider, more workable window of transmission than the the jury-rigged set-up I just mentioned. The only thing I wish for is the twist-around rubber pad attached to the bottom of some sustain pedals that you can set your heel on so the pedal won't run away onstage. Velcro doesn't last, plus you have to carry a carpet or rug. low price quality March 9, 2010 This is a good foot pedal. It works on my casio and is actually a better quality and price than the casio brand foot pedal. It doesn't slide around, either. | 19% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 10% Could be Better May 13, 2017 Thin cable--don't know how long it will hold up in a piano class Squeaks, even after lubricating It's fine. For its price November 16, 2015 It's fine. For its price, it's "good," even. It's not as amazingly responsive as some, and it definitely doesn't feel like a concert piano pedal or anything, but it's a solid product. I tend to get cheap dampers because my cat likes to chew on my cords, so if he gets through another, I could see myself buying this again. It's Okay February 12, 2015 I use this with my Korg Kronos workstation. The pedal is okay, but the build quality is sub-par. After a few months of use, the pedal stopped responding. I took it apart to find it operates on a simple microchip lever system similar to a video game controller. While there is nothing wrong with this method, the build quality around it is sub-par. I was able to fix the issue with some spare parts, screws, and glue to realign the joints. The pedal is still working more than a year after my DIY repair. Overall, it isn't a bad pedal. Though, it certainly isn't great. Pros: -Professional look -Portable and easy to use -Easy to repair Cons: -Cheap/simplistic design -Does not always work well on carpet -May need repair with normal usage Recommend?: Maybe. It is good for a quick and cheap pedal replacement. I would consider alternative options with higher quality if wanting long-term hassle free use. Average February 6, 2015 The casing on this pedal seems kinda flimsy, as if the quality of the plastic isn't that great. Also, because the pedal itself isn't particularly heavy (actually it's pretty light), it slips and slides when I play on stage with it (I play keyboard standing up). Because of that, generally I avoid using this pedal unless I have to and instead opt to use my DP-10; I probably wouldn't buy this unit again unless I wanted a cheap stay-at-home option not used for stage playing. Does the Job December 29, 2011 Works like a real pedal. Other than that, I wish there was some kind of floor anchoring device, I may have to rig something up with velcro. I like the pedal, it's much nicer than the one that came with my keyboard. ======== UPDATE: 12/19/13 Well, now the things works half the time, very annoying. So, for twenty-three bucks, I got two good years out of it. Reduced this rating to 3 stars. I'm going to have to get another one before I start recording because I want to throw a refrigerator at someone when that darn pedal stops working! ======== UPDATE: 2/2/13 After being annoyed almost to madness on a Sunday when all the music stores were closed (Why, o why is that the case?), I finally took the thing apart and figured out the the little rubber squishy depression area inside the pedal (under the metal pedal which comes off once you loosen the screws) was worn out or at least not responding to the movement as subtly as it needed to. I took some super glue and glued on 2 small, thin sheets of foam on top (much like you would find in packing material). Voila! The damn thing works now just like when I bought it! I don't have to worry about pressing it so hard that my calf feels like someone kicked me after a 2 hour practice session. When the foam wears out (and it will) I will trash this and buy a better pedal. Still gets three stars for quitting on me like a bass player I once knew. | 7% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 4% Became useless after about a year October 24, 2012 I bought this pedal for $13.92 on January 2011, and all of a sudden, it stopped working. The reason is because the bottom is not one solid plate. Instead, there's a part that is screwed on and connected to the pedal. So over time, the screws that hold the bottom part together breaks off, and pressing the pedal does nothing because it just moves the entire part up and down, not actually triggering the mechanism that causes the sustaining effect. I have no way to fix this because the pieces holding the screw literally broke off the part that connects the pedal to the bottom. Otherwise, the pedal is nice. It feels good, and it doesn't move around too much. But what good is it if it doesn't last? Good Pedal but Major Issue! May 31, 2012 I have been using this pedal now for less than a year, and have recently begun to experience a major problem. The bottom of the pedal is not all one solid piece. It is in two parts, the bigger back part & the front where the pedal is. So what happens is: over time, especially if you use the pedal on carpet, the bottom will begin to bend and become loose. So when you press down on the front of the pedal, the back will lift off the floor. This hinders the actual pedal from going all the way down, thus rendering your pedal only 50% effective. *It may last longer if you only use it on solid surfaces, like tile or wood. Noise Maker December 8, 2010 It's annoying because every time you depress it you hear quite audibly a clicking sound. This was quite distressing to me so I promptly sent it back. Along with the clicking are other unwanted noises. I'm still looking for that perfect sustain pedal for my Privia. Where is the noiseless sustain pedal I am looking for? It kind of defeats the purpose... August 21, 2010 The item only sustains the last notes you play. It doesn't stack notes over each other. This is not the pedal that you want to use if you are trying to get used to a piano pedal. With a piano, you have to know when to pick your foot up in order to avoid the notes muddying together. With this, you can just hold the pedal down with no ill effects. This item is a waste of money and time. | 3% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 4% Not built to last - wont last a year if you use it frequently. May 25, 2016 After a year the front of the pedal housing fractured right at the stress point where the pedal pivots and the screws towards the front of the pedal came loose. Shoddily built. One Star September 22, 2015 Fake on stage came from China feels like garbage we will see how long it lasts. Sucks October 7, 2013 This pedal worked a few days and quit. Just spend ten bucks more and buy a Yamaha brand pedal. Not worth it. Doesn't work properly June 29, 2011 The sustain doesn't turn off, it just stays on. Sending it back for a return. Not sure if they are all bad, but the one I had doesn't work. Luckily I bought it through Amazon, so there is no problems returning it. | 7% There are no reviews yet |
