Great Peeler
August 23, 2017
We call this "the mangler" and it's become one of my favorite tools for salad making. Makes perfect julienne vegetables with relative ease. A traditional peeler on one side, julienne on the other, this single-use tool takes into consideration there is more than one kind of peeling needed for items like carrots where one might not want to eat the skin. Comes with an easy-to-use silicone-like cover to protect you from this tool in the drawer. Also comes with a cleaning tool. As long as you're careful, this one's a must-have!
Great customer service

Very happy with the customer service. They are responsive and i am very happy. Initially i received a defective item and they sent me a replacement immediately. very happy with the product easy to use. Once you figure out how to use the product its easy to use.
Pasta game changer and more
June 29, 2016
Almost bought a spiralizer, had it in my cart, then a quick Google search led me to julienne slicers and decided to go with this instead. Great decision! Glides across the veggies like butter. Nice long juliennes. Cleanup a snap and takes up little drawer space. I bought it for veggie pasta but I will no doubt have other plans for it too. Green mango salad, carrot juliennes, ginger perhaps. Haven't even tried the other side (normal peeler) but I plan to.

Those complaining of it getting clogged, I am at a loss. While there is certainly vegetable material in the slots while using it, I simply ignore that and keep going. Even if there are big pieces. It does not block or hinder function and clearing between swipes is a silly waste of time. You will understand what I mean when you try it.

On the topic of veggie noodles. This was the reason I bought it and this was the first time I ever made veggie noodles. I was a skeptic but bought it anyway. In my mind pasta sauce and zucchini noodles would taste like a deconstructed ratatouille. Since I love ratatouille I didn't care. But I was wrong. It tastes like pasta. Only fresher and lighter and much healthier. I can finish a big plate of 'pasta' and not feel overfilled. High fiber and water instead of heavy dough. It's a no brainer. Now if I can just figure out how to make veggie noodle ravioli
This is my favorite item in the kitchen!
June 3, 2015
We were buying similar julienne peelers in different stores including Bed Bath and Beyond (I believe we bought all together 5 different models and returned them eventually as none of them was good and twice I even cut myself by using them). Then I found this item on Amazon. What a differences! I can do my healthy salads in minutes. The device is simply brilliant. And I already bought as a gift to my family members and friends. I'm so exited that I want to share the recipe of the marinated carrot (my primary purpose of buying this slicer)
Carrots - 2-3 pounds
Garlic - 5-7 cloves
Olive Oil - 1/3 of the cup
Vinegar - 1 tea spoon
Lemon juice from 2 lemons
Coriander or curry mix - 1-2 tea spoons
Sea Salt - 1 tea spoon
Wash, peel and then slice carrots. Warm your your olive oil with vinegar until vinegar start to bubble, remove from the heat. Press garlic to the carrot, add spices and pour warm oil on top. Mix all of the ingredients. Leave for couple of hours to marinate (not necessary in the refrigerator ). Enjoy!
I've never used a peeler like this
September 10, 2014
I've never used a peeler like this. It feels really sturdy, and the blades are sharp. I like that the blade is ridged instead of a straight edge. The peels it makes are pretty thin, and it seems to get the peel off while leaving more of the vegetable intact. I recently made eggplant noodles and this gadget worked really well. As long as one keeps the julienne side clear, it'll keep making thin strips. (If it gets clogged, it won't peel anymore.) I agree with reviewers suggesting a toothbrush for cleaning this tool. I also just noticed the triangular and round nub-things on the side; they feel kinda sharp, so maybe they can be used for something too? Maybe I'll try peeling strips of peel off cucumbers before slicing them to give them a striped look on the edges.

Something that made me laugh: The product details section says that 2 AAA batteries are required (and included). I'm pretty sure this does not require batteries since I got it to work without them, but even so, I did not receive batteries with the peeler.

EXTREMELY pleased with this apple peeler, corer, slicer!!
September 21, 2017
I am EXTREMELY pleased with this apple peeler! I almost didn't buy it, because I thought it would be huge and heavy. But it was much smaller than I thought it would be, about half as large as I expected and very lightweight, which is a plus in my small kitchen. I was pleasantly surprised that the suction cup worked great on my kitchen countertop, even though it is a slightly textured laminate countertop and suction cup appliances never stick to it, the Johnny Apple Peeler sticks very tightly with no movement at all! We have an old heirloom Baldwin apple tree in our yard, and this year we had a bumper crop of really beautiful apples, so I decided to dehydrate as many as possible and also make baked apples and applesauce, but peeling and coring and slicing all those apples was a huge pain, so I thought I would try this apple peeler. It works GREAT -- it literally takes three seconds to peel, slice, and core each apple. Since our apples are from an old tree and not store bought, they are all different shapes and sizes, but the Johnny Apple Peeler handles them all just fine. And although there were a few less expensive alternatives available on Amazon, the reviews for this one were really good so I decided to spend a few dollars more and purchase this one -- but the price was still great for such a useful appliance.
This is my new best friend during apple season
September 14, 2017
We live on a 70-acre farm. When we bought it, in early 2013, I drove by a local nursery that was clearing out fruit tree stock and I bought far too many apple trees for my new fruit orchard. This year, they are in full production and every time my husband comes in the house, he brings me another five-gallon pail. I considered just locking the doors but then saw this Johnny Apple Peeler. It is a relationship-saver, especially when (deep down inside) I know that I was the one that bought and planted the trees. It arrived at noon today. Since then, I've peeled and cored 15 gallons of apples. It took just over an hour. One batch is in the slow cooker for applesauce, another batch will be frozen for apple pies this winter, and the third is en route to the dehydrator. A task that would have taken me most of the day took just over an hour. I'm very happy with this purchase. I still have another 25 gallons of apples to process today but with the help of this peeler, it will be a snap.
I wish I've found this sooner!
December 4, 2016
I love apple pie and apple crisp and apple cobbler, but I'm allergic to raw apples, and I hate cutting, coring, and peeling because it takes so long. Hence, I used to make these yummy treats only on holidays. BUT! This tool means that those tedious chores take all of a few seconds, reducing the time I have to be in contact with the apples and speeding up the prep time dramatically. Now, I make apple crisp and pie much more frequently because it's so easy. I wish I'd bought one of these sooner! Also, so far, this seems to be a high quality product. It's solid metal, suctions well, cleans up easily, and seems very sturdy.

October 4, 2015
I found this just before I needed to peel apples for sauce and pies. My husband I argued over who would get to use it! This is a very stout well-made product. The suction cup works very well. I like the fact that I can mount it very close to my sink catching all the peel and core. This would work very well for people who buy apples from the store. Mine are orchard apples and not all of them are uniform in size. While the peeler floats some of the misshapen apples can be a challenge. Overall I was very impressed and it meant that fewer apples would go into the cider hopper due to my laziness.
Great product...this is the one to get!
October 20, 2012
This is the first year my little orchard has produced large quantities of apples, so I hauled out a vintage mechanical peeler that had been sitting in the attic for 25 years. I spent an hour trying to fine tune it and not have it destroy every apple I tried. I thought I was stuck with hand peeling, but decided to check and see if there was anything available that wasn't more trouble than it was worth. After reading the reviews for various peelers here, and watching a bunch of YouTube videos, I decided to give this one a try. It worked perfectly right out of the box, and required only about 30 seconds to screw on the handle and the tines. Here is what I liked best:-Solid construction, nicely machined, and well-finished-Suction base sticks fiercely to my granite counter and doesn't come loose; if you have a smooth, non-porous surface to mount it on, this is so much better than the ones that clamp to the underside of the counter with a screw (and invariably wobble)-Very clearly written instruction book (not some bad translation into English from another language)-Reasonable price (I know there is another one on this site that looks about the same, and costs a few bucks less, but I thought this one had better overall reviews)-Works with a wide variety of apple sizes, even ones that are pretty large; also adapts well to lopsided apples without messing up-The hoop that does the coring does a really good job of keeping the apple centered, despite the shape of the apple. You just need to do your best to align the apple when mounting it on the tines, but the peeler is pretty forgiving even if the apple has a fair amount of wobble-Once it starts cutting it doesn't miss any part of the peel on the bulk of the apple; it leaves only about 1/8" at the top and bottom where the apple is "flat"...and I just eat that-The spiral cut slices are a great thickness for dehydrating, for freezing, and for making piesI was concerned that the loop-shaped blade would "waste" more apple flesh than a straight blade, but the waste is trivial. In fact, in my experience with a straight-bladed model, the gouging on all the apples that weren't perfectly shaped did lead to a lot of waste. For my first batch, I processed about 50-60 apples of 5 different species, which ranged widely in size, symmetry, and firmness. The only one I had trouble with was one that wasn't a firm apple to start with and had been sitting out for a couple of weeks; it was so soft that the tines started to turn freely in the core before the whole apple was finished being peeled. If I would have processed it when it was fresh this wouldn't have been a problem.I set mine up on the edge of the granite counter right next to the sink, and all the waste went right in: no more peels and apple juice making my floor sticky. This is one of those kitchen gadgets that works well consistently, as opposed to those that work well 90% of the time, but are annoying and time consuming the other 10% of the time. In fact, this is actually fun to use and fast...and that's important when you are looking at dealing with bushels of apples.
Why doesn't everyone have one of these???
September 26, 2012
I only know about this gadget because my grandma got a much older version of one at an estate sale and gave it to me, and I recently upgraded to this new one. After I used it once, I didn't know why anyone would do it any other way. If you're an apples or potatoe eater, BUY THIS PRODUCT.The suction cup works PERFECTLY and holds it right in place with no movement at all. Even better: I have little kitchen storage space, and the suction cup allows me to store it ON THE BOTTOM OF MY CABINET! (or any other flat surface!)And the peeling/coring/slicing doesn't have to be all done together. Depending on your apple needs, you can just peel, or just core and slice, or do nothing to it (if you just want to watch the apple spin. Dance, apple, dance!)Cleanup is incredibly easy.I eat all my apples now after sending them through this thing, because it minimizes waste by cutting close to the core! Also, the slices are thin enough, that I feel like I'm getting a lot more food, and it's a longer lasting snack. (My snack used to be ONE apple, but now it's TWENTY apple slices! Whoa! And you can use the peeler to peel of thin strings of potatoes for hash browns. Neat, huh?Overall, the 10 seconds it takes to put an apple on here and send it through is WAY more convenient than the time it takes to do it all by hand, and less wasteful. Seriously, get this product, it's amazing.

Seems pretty sturdy
July 27, 2017
There definitely seems to be a learning curve for learning to use it since it came with one page of instructions that was essentially "hold the vegetable and go" so we'll see how it works for making awesome vegetable pasta and stuff like that, since all I did was peel some potatoes.
Great value
April 23, 2017
I have been reluctant to buy a spiral cutting tool since I expect it will end up being a passing whim and then collect dust. This is a great substitute. I was EASY to use and made nice ribbons of zucchini. I have only used it once so far but I am happy with how easy and how well it worked. Now I have to get adventurous!
Great product and quality!
October 15, 2016
These are SHARP and make julienne cutting a breeze. I used these on cucumbers and they worked effortlessly. It conveniently comes with a little silicone sleeve to protect the blades and a little cleaning brush. I would say the downside to these is that the julienne 'slice' is rather thin. I guess I was anticipating a slightly thicker julienne. I might have to experiment more with different hand holding angles to get a different result. I have a feeling that this little tool is going to last a lifetime. It is definitely a high quality item and worth the purchase if you see yourself needing to julienne something. I guess you could technically 'noodle' yourself some veggies but I did not try this.
Make veggie noodles and super thin slices.
September 15, 2015
I like this product and use it quite a bit. I had purchased a spiralizer tool that was supposed to make these lovely long veggie ribbons, but when I got it was unable to handle even softer veggies like zucchini. This slicer can create ribbons as long as the vegetable itself, not the super long spiral ones. But this actually works, so I'm happy with it. It is sturdy, stainless, very sharp. Also, it is double sided, so you can make what looks like spaghetti noodles as well as more of a paper thin wide slice. My only issue is that it sometimes gets clogged up when I make my veggie noodles. Then I have to stop and rinse under the sink to free up the blade. Also, like when grating cheese or cabbage with a grater, this tool leaves that little bit that you cannot slice safely without risking slicing your hand up, too, so there is a small amount of food waste. This is a real kitchen tool, though not a gimmicky plastic item that doesn't work at all.
I need practice.
September 11, 2014
I got this a couple weeks ago and used it last night on sweet potatoes. I was grappling with how to hold the potato in such a way that I wouldn't rake my hand and end up in the ER and was leveraging the potato in such a way that the knuckles of the hand holding the julienne kept hitting the cutting board. Fortunately, I was improving with practice, but by the third potato I was starting to look like Uma Thurman in Kill Bill when she's punching the inside of the coffin with three inches of leeway. If I half-a$$ed it, the julienne only grabbed little bits of skin off the potato which would fill in the blades, but once I used it correctly or rinsed it in water, those would clear. I get the impression that julienning zucchini would be easier by a long shot just because the potato was pretty tough and thick. Perhaps there's something in the ebook that would help my technique. Also, all the spiral slicers I saw on Amazon that were inexpensive also had lots of stories about something getting jammed in the spiralizer and it seemed like more trouble than it was worth. Might as well go simple. Overall I like it and it seems that with practice and softer veggies I'll be better at using it.

Broke ALREADY! - UPDATE fixed!
May 19, 2017
Just received this. The blade fell apart completely on the first contact with the apple. I followed the instructions in the manual to a T, but it still fell to pieces the second the apple touched the blade. Not happy :([EDIT] Hubby was able to fix it and now that it's fixed, it works really well. We've had some issues with some of the softer, bigger apples just getting mangled and not skinned, which we figured out worked better with the apple turned backwards. Otherwise, works as advertised and my kids love the "apple slinkies" it produces. Just a bit of a learning curve for us!
Great way to peel lots of apples all at once.
December 3, 2016
This apple peeler is well designed and manufactured. I needed help to adjust the prongs to fit through the eye of the slicer. Once it was assembled, it worked great and the blades cut nice and clean for the peeler and slicer. I am an old lady and had some difficulty adjusting the clamp to hold tightly onto the counter. I screwed it as tight as I could and then braced the peeler with a towel in my left hand and cranked the handle with my right. This may be just my issue. What a joy to have so many apples ready for Thanksgiving pies prepared so quickly.
ALMOST perfect but the important part, the blades are great!
April 25, 2015
This product is ALMOST perfect. For the price it IS pretty amazing. The blades (the important part!) are sharp and get the job done in no time! I use it to make apple chips and I thought that the slices would be too thick but alas they are just right! It takes a little practice to use it effectively, don't give up! There are TWO reasons it is not perfect and didn't get 5 stars. ONE- the peeler option has a spring mechanism that is not adjustable and is a little too strong which means it digs a little too deep when peeling the apple and wastes a bit more than I would like. I haven't messed with it too much to see if I can adjust it somehow to make it not so strong, I do think it would be possible if peeling is an important part (it does have a lever that locks and holds the peeler totally away from the apple if you don't want to peel which is what I have chosen). TWO- There is a lever that you must hold "open" in order to pull back the handle and attach the apple to the prongs. THIS lever does NOT lock in place, therefore it's difficult to get your apple "centered" on the prongs. Apples are hardly ever close to perfectly round therefore if you don't get the core centered just right you don't actually core the apple which is a big part of the product. You need three hands to do it! I end up adusting the apple several times but it would be so much more effective if I could lock that lever and move the handle back and forth freely until I got my apple centered correctly. You'll understand when you use it what I mean. I used to have one very similar made by Pampered Chef (they cost about 3 times the cost of this one) and this seems to be the only difference. I would also suggest getting the base. I connect it to the counter top but it needs a good 3 inches clearance underneath the counter to tighten the screw at the bottom. I end up using pliers to get it tight enough. I also bought one for my niece. Her husband is going to make us simple wooden bases.
Speeds Things Up, but Takes Some Adjustment
January 13, 2014
My wife and I pick our own honey crisp apples in the fall and we usually end up with quite a large "reserve", so she'll make pies and apple crisps and other deserts. Rather than try to peel apples by hand like we did in the past, we wanted something to speed up the process. Apple peeling (even with two people) can get pretty tedious if you're not really good at it.This peeler does a great job of that (can go through a dozen Apples in 3 or 4 minutes once you find a setting that works for your most common apple size), but one complaint I have is that it tends to take a lot of the apple with the skin if you're not careful. My wife and I ended up eating a bunch of the ends as we went along because it would shave thick chunks off either end. Not a big deal if you're at home but if you want to use this for a bakery or something it might lead to a fair amount of apple waste if you have a lot of apples that are not "symmetrical" or mostly round. That said it's sturdily built, looks pretty cool (like it belongs in an old-fashioned kitchen), and got through the first 4 dozen or so apples we tested on it without any mechanical problems. We'll see how it stands up to next fall's test / if any of the thiner parts break, etc. Will update if it does. If no update you can assume it's working great a year later.(Note: we have not tried it on potatoes.)
Well worth the price!
December 9, 2013
I really love this apple/potato peeler. I only gave it 4 stars because potato peeling requires a bit of "finishing". However, this peeler is well worth the money! I was very impressed with the quality; it reminds me of something one would purchase in the '50's.I've been making lefsa for 40+ years. I've been loosing flexibility in my left hand due to MS, and this year I realized I needed help with the peeling of 5 lbs. of potatoes per batch. I purchased this one on the reviews of others, and I've been pleased. Each potato takes just seconds; however, I need to "finish" each potato on the ends with a hand peeler. Red potatoes peel more easily than whites, probably due to the fact that they are rounder than whites. I've taken to cutting a severely malformed white into two pieces, and this helps with the process. Peeling 5 pounds of potatoes takes 1/4 the time, even with the finishing, so I'm more than happy.I have a mock apple pie recipe that I look forward to making with my new peeler! As a point of reference, I just peeled 5 lbs. of potatoes with "finishing" in less than 25 minutes.
Victorio apple/potato peeler
December 31, 2012
I haven't used many of these kinds of peelers but am assuming that this is about as good as they get. The blade does get hung up on soft spots and if the apple is mis-shapen the peeling isn't consistant. If you have good firm apples which consistantly well rounded it works very well and saves lots of time.

The peeling blade is serrated. I did not expect that. It is ok if you need to THINLY julienne something. The grooves on the potatoes that was just to be peeled was wierd and kinda un-a-peeling...
Not ideal for handheld peeling jobs
December 5, 2014
I was really eager to try this after reading all of the reviews, but I was very disappointed! I bought this primarily as a peeler not for the julienne slicing feature, so perhaps in that regard it may be more useful. It is very large and bulky and heavy, which means it is not very ergonomic for say peeling a large bag of potatoes. Also the blade head is so large you can't really see where your fingers are if you are trying to heel something while holding it. I would say it is decently sharp, however, it doesn't perform all that much better than one of my very old standard peelers! Good luck!
Peeling GREAT; Julienne not so great
June 8, 2014
I like that this peeler is obviously very well made. I have had issue finding a Y peeler, I've gone through 3 different ones in the last year and they have all broke due to being made from poor materials. This one I can tell is sturdy and I don't foresee any issues in that regard. I wasn't sure about the peeler being serrated at first but that doesn't seem to hinder performance. I was not looking for one with the julienne feature, but thought that this would be a bonus. It seems more trouble than what it is worth. The julienne side kept getting "plugged up" and I was having to stop every 2 to 4 strokes to clean it out and wasn't very efficient. I will also say that I have never owned or used a julienne peeler so some of this may be due to operator error. I probably won't use the julienne feature too much, but this isn't enough for me to want to return this item. Good peeler!

Excellent product Edit this to its sufficient after a couple of years of use.
August 13, 2017
This works quite well for our two large apple trees. A cast iron type product that peels the apples very thin. We have used it now this being our second year and am quite happy with the product. With multiple pounds of apples we just don't have the time to peel by hand and this item saves us a huge amount of time. Also cores the apples and doesn't leave any seeds. Would highly recommend.AFTER PEELING 400LBS OF APPLES WITH THIS: We have three apple trees and use this to peel the apples. This devices works real well in terms of peeling the apples and coring the also. Best on the market that I can find. It does have a significant flaw. It doesn't stick to the counter. Not kindof stick but doesn't stick at all. I have to really force my hand to hold the device in place. I would suggest a c-clamp or vice type device that clamps to a counter top. That would make this device a high quality item. For us it works but always looking for better.

This product works great, but it seems I can't but one of these that doesn't rust. I don't leave it in the sink. I even dry it off after I was it becuase my one from Pampered Chef rusted. Now this one is rusting on the shaft...sigh...
It worked great until yesterday
August 23, 2016
My old apple peeler that I had for over 20 years and similar to this one got lost in a move so I bought this one 3 years ago..It worked great until yesterday..For some reason the lever won't stay down on the driveshaft anymore so that it takes 2 people to make it work..It's only $20 so I'll buy a new one but they don't make them like they use to..also so buyers know it will only peel and slice a very firm apple..
SUCTION BASE WOULD NOT KEEP UNIT IN PLACE NO MATTER WHAT I TRIED!
April 24, 2016
Could not get the suction base to stay in place on my quartz counter tops no matter what I did. Moved it here, moved it there...turned the lever clockwise, turned it counterclockwise...suction base bone dry, suction base slightly moistened...all to no avail! And believe me, it's not because I don't understand how to use the device or afix the suction base to the surface. I work on my own cars, build computers, install plumbing fixtures...am very mechanically inclined! Anyway, I wound up having to to hold the unit in place with one hand while cranking handle with the other. Got the job done, but slowly and awkwardly. Maybe I just had a defective unit, but I did return it. Was super disappointed!
Great Toy -- fails in such funny ways that the kids and I laugh our heads off
July 21, 2014
This really doesn't work well to peel apples or potatoes. But it fails in such funny ways that the kids and I laugh our heads off as it ejects apples, cut potatoes in half and occasionally creates perfect 10ft long apple peels. I'm sure that if I really knew how to use this correctly it would work well, but peeling two bags of apples and a dozen potatoes is not time enough to learn.I'll take this out and use it every few months, but only if they kids look like they might stay long enough to watch. In the meantime I'm back to using a knife on the apples and a peeler on the potatos.
Victorio VKP1010 Apple and Potato Peeler, Suction Base
May 23, 2014
Works as advertised. I went with the casting with name brand -- hard to tell from the pictures but looked sturdier. It looks like it will last a while. Not sure if would in a commercial kitchen, but not bad for occassional home use.The suction cup appears to work well enough, --hope it remains that way. What seems "light" duty is the general thickness of blades, handle to screw and the end-fort for which one shoves it into the potato/apple.If all were, something like 2x's as heavy and if even 2x's the cost, --that'd be the one I'd look for.Again, good enough, but I would not plan on peeling a bushel of apples and not expect some kind of problem. Also, the depth of knife to cut the peel is again, a bit "iffy". If heavier one might be able to save a bit of veg/fruit with the peel. However, if this is "it", --I'd buy again, if needed to. I would not buy any "less expensive" and expect usefulness.

I like this peeler but I wouldn't recommend it if you are planning on using it for a large batch of slicing.. for example, it's great for a serving size portion but if you are looking for something to use to make a meal for a family, I'd go with an actual machine. The food gets caught in the teeth and it's not the easiest to take apart and clean.
I am not as satisfied as the many reviewers raved over this product
November 29, 2015
I purchased this for peeling mostly. I am not as satisfied as the many reviewers raved over this product. I think it is heavy in the hand and it puts ridges in my veggies that I don't like. It looks like a high tech gadget but there are some things that needn't be so complicated. I would return it but that I passed the deadline for return because I am in the process of moving. I do not recommend this peeler and am still looking for a simple and useful one.
Well made but very difficult to clean!
May 13, 2015
It seems to be durable and well made, but the design makes it very hard to clean, especially by hand. If you have a good dishwasher and you clean it right after every use, that might work; however, cleaning by hand is very difficult. The serrations and blades tend to trap food unlike other smooth bladed peelers. Also, the double sided peeler makes accessing the back of the peeler blades difficult.

Edited to add: It has also started to rust. I've removed one star from my rating and have started the search for a new peeler.

When I saw this peeler, I thought it would be so easy to use and would make some really appealing salads, however, when I received it I was disappointed. First, on the positive side, it does appear to be sturdy and made well. It came in a plain white box with no markings or other information or instruction about how to use it. Okay, it's just a peeler, so I thought it would be simple enough to use--wrong! No matter how you hold it, whether you're peeling upward or downward, it jams and does so within 10-12 strokes. Before you get through half a medium-sized carrot it jams and then you have to stop and spend way more time than necessary getting all the big pieces of whatever you are peeling out of the thin blades. I would not buy this again. Unfortunately, this item did not come with a packing slip so I don't think I can return it or I probably would.

DON'T TRUST THE SUCTION BASE MODEL
October 7, 2016
The peeler, corer, slicer part worked great but the suction cup on the bottom would not stay secure. It came loose with almost every apple. There is a limitation to what surfaces it will work with but ours was one that should have been safe. We returned this one and got the one that mounted to the table and it consistently works great. I recommend it but not the suction based one. I felt it was dangerous when you were cranking the handle and it came loose from the table and everything became very unstable.
Really well made but...
December 1, 2015
It is a very well made item however, it really doesn't work well on potatoes. The uneven surface means you will have spots that it peels 3/8 of an inch deep, wasting a lot of your potatoes or it doesn't even touch the potato and peels nothing. It also will put too much pressure on the potato and rip it right off the holder. It is also a pain to adjust the peeling blade because it is unreachable if there is a potato in the peeler and requires a Phillips head screw driver to make the adjustment. If you are dealing with a lot of a very symmetrical, cylindrical produce of roughly the same dimensions you will probably have a great experience with this item. Me, I got a bag of mauled potatoes...
Disappointed the unit was not assembled and the corer seemed ...
November 11, 2015
The core slicer was misshapen, and the suction base was not assembled as the manual showed (I couldn't figure out how to assemble the base). I returned the whole thing in its original box to Amazon with their printed return label, and am waiting for a replacement. Disappointed the unit was not assembled and the corer seemed to be intentionally manufactured in a way that didn't fit this unit (maybe it goes to a different type of unit?), but I've had very good luck with an Amazon return in the past...hoping for another good result.UPDATE: I had written on the returned box, as well as inside the box, that I wanted a replacement, not a return. I also wrote the note above, yet a replacement was not addressed. I supposed I shouldn't complain as it was refunded promptly, but I was looking forward to having this item for apple pies, etc. Will look elsewhere.
Not worth it.
December 23, 2014
Maybe this is great for apples, I don't know, and if it is, I'll revise my review then. This item is listed as apple and potato peeler. When it arrived, it said apple all over the box but not a single mention of potatoes. That should've been my warning. I tried using it with a potato. Useless. I think the prongs of the fork need to be sharper because I couldn't get the potato on deep enough for it to be sturdy. The potato kept falling off the prongs of the fork. I gave up after struggling with it for 15 minutes. (And that doesn't include the time required to set it up.)On the upside, this appears to be sturdy and well made. On the other hand it either requires a degree in mechanical engineering to assemble or my peeler was misaligned because no matter how long I fussed with it (I gave up after about a half hour) I couldn't get the fork to go through the hole as directed in the manual without the edges scraping just the littlest bit.And then it didn't work. I mentioned that, right? What a waste.
broke on the second apple I tried to peel
March 12, 2014
For this to work properly, the apples need to be very symmetrical. The base of my second apple did not line up exactly with the stem of the apple. When I tried to peel and slice it, it jammed. The prongs were not even close to the corer. The apple bent it! I did not use much effort when it jammed but the metal hole that the core goes through bent A LOT! Made the entire thing useless and made me mad. It is supposed to have a 5 year warranty. We will see how the customer service works. As a follow up, I called customer service and they are sending me a new corer for my machine for free. Nice! I still only give it two stars because it should not have broken for what I was doing.
Starting to rust
October 30, 2013
We have used the peeler 3 times. We washed and dried it properly however the peeler shaft is already starting to rust. Not happy about that after paying good money for a product designed to work with produce which is naturally moist. The suction base works great, the over function works great, probably going to research more for one made better.

Do not waste ur money .

Cheap cheap and won't last u long at all . Mine is already in pieces and I've only had it for few months . If I could turn back the time I would buy one with a plastic handle .
We weren't happy with this at all
February 6, 2017
We weren't happy with this at all. The quality is probably pretty good, but it wasn't at all what we expected. The "julienne" side really just peels it but with slits in between each "strip," so you're manually tearing the pieces apart if you want julienne. Unfortunately, not what we wanted.
It finally broke
November 19, 2016
As a peeler... it works. Today the guide for the julienne side broke off. It's only been about 3 months. Would not buy again.
Do not waste your money

This tool is hard to use and cramps my hand because it is so large. It is useless. I am throwing it away after I write this.
Glorified peeler, not julienne
October 11, 2016
It does not truly julienne uniform pieces, it merely peels multiple thin strands of the vegetable. Awkward and difficult to use with the blade collecting thin pieces of the vegetable constantly, then the blade can slip out and increase likelihood of cutting your hand. Overall, just doesn't work and not a well made product.

Received this item without the wooden handle.

Received this item without the wooden handle. Sent it right back. Quality control can do much better. Will be ordering another so hopefully they'll send me one that is brand new wth all the parts intact. Will update review then.
No rubber pad to keep the clamp from moving.
December 28, 2016
Clamp has no rubber pad where it holds the peeler to the counter underneath and slides all over the place. Also, the piece to prevent it from sliding on the hard countertop is hard plastic so it does nothing. There is no way to get it to secure to the counter to use it. Since it wiggled around, it also scratched the edge of the granite countertop when I got someone to hold it in place for me.
Doesn't work!
October 12, 2016
Doesn't work, there may be a size and texture of Apple that it will peel, core and slice but I haven't found it and I have tried. I adjusted it, tried different Apple sizes and textures and found that it's just a whole lot easier to process by hand
Don't spend the extra money
August 19, 2016
This product performed as described in the manner of peeling and coring. The major downfall was the suction cup. It's terrible! A major hassle! About every third or fourth apple we had to remount it to the table. Should have bought the nine dollar peeler.

Bent on the first (careful) use. Can't say much more about it. The metal is too thin and flimsy to last.
Maybe it's just me.... but this ...

Maybe it's just me....but this does NOT WORK. It will start peeling then stop and I'm left with this....(see photo). It's almost as if the peeling blade gets full of peel and stops peeling. Returning.
