Side by Side Comparison of: Mountain Warehouse vs The North Face

This was the best purchase I made for my snowboarding trip. Jacket fit exactly to size and not once did I get wet and I was on the ground in the snow A LOT . Stays a perfect temperature the whole time(considering undershirts/sweaters). Outlasted my "waterproof" bibs for sure. Great design and an awesome jacket to wear in cold weather around town. I recommend a lights shirt and a medium thick sweater underneath (30-40 degree weather). Anything else and you'll be sweating the whole day. No moisture gets in and none will escape this jacket either.

Bought this jacket for my husband for his first time skiing. It looks fantastic on him!

The first day he went skiing, it was pouring rain. He got soaked through his "waterproof" gloves and everywhere else, except for the jacket. Also, the top layer that got wet, dried writhing an hour when he returned home.

And I think it is a nice color and he looked great in it (but hey, I might be biased here).

All in all, it is a great waterproof jacket that is priced well, looks great, and will keep you warm when skiing.

This coat is meant for the cold. I mean the kind of cold you find on a mountain pass in a blizzard at night. I start sweat a lot if I wear it inside or in my car. It fits nicely. The pockets are big enough for gloves and bottle of water. The breast pocket is nice for phones. I wore it skiing with just a shirt underneath. It was total over kill. Great pattern too. No one else has it.

My son loves this jacket! We live in a very cold area, it has been down to 15 below zero, and the high has only been around 30 since Thanksgiving, so it has been tried. It is warm, and he likes how it looks. Will try it skiing in the near future.

The adult large is a standard large for a medium frame person. Looks good on and has been wearing well ( first season ).

My husband absolutely LOVES this jacket! This is his go to winter coat for casual/everyday. It is stylish, fits well, and has held up now for 2 years - looks like it is still brand new! Highly recommend. We could not be more pleased with this purchase.

Excellent product , fits great , keeps me warm and dry on the coldest days -5 degrees at the top of a mountain.

Very warm, cold air won't get through this material. I wear it out to start my car in the morning, it basically deflects cold air and insulates warmth at the same time, exactly what you'd want in a winter coat!

the only thing that i found a little odd on the jacket was the zipper. works all right for the most part and also on the wrong side.

great warm jacket but the arms are a little short, however I find that is a problem I have with allot of jackets.

I ordered regular size and it fit perfectly. This is a great coat. With two layers it's perfect to pack for a trip with unsure weather conditions. The inside/outside layer is incredibly easy to zip back in once detached. I thought if anything that would be the disappoint aspect of the jacket but I was so surprised at the ease of zipping it back in! The jacket is made of excellent quality. Very happy with the purchase. I was apprehensive about spending over $200 but it's worth it for the quality.

It fit me perfectly, warm and comfortable. The only gripe is that the outer shell doesn't have any insulation in the pockets which sucks in winter. Otherwise, it's a really good jacket.

A very nice and warm jacket. Fits well to the body. The one thing I would have liked is pockets on the inside. But all in all I am happy with this jacket.

This product was way too big and I returned. No prob with the return, I just said it didn't fit and as soon as they got the jacket back, I received my money... although I have to say that I had to shipped the jacket to Ontario so there goes 20$... so watch out with sizes people!.. I bought another jacket of the same brand and it's warm and nice.
No complains beside the inconvenience and the 20$ shipment to return it

This product is a fine example of North Face design and execution. The liner is easy to remove and wear as a light jacket leaving the waterproof shell available as light weight waterproof rain gear.

The jacket is listed as a medium but is far larger than any other North Face medium-sized jacket that I have ever purchased. The tag on the actual jacket states XL/TG as the size but the paper tag attached states it is Medium. I bought it for someone who is 6' tall and it is way too large.

Love the pattern and the fact that it's a nice thick coat, but it's not waterproof. Wore this sledding once and hoodie underneath got soaked.

Zipper broke the first time I wore it

I had written a review previously saying nothing but good things however id like to retract my earlier statements. The jacket had a HUGE rip after one hard fall on the mountain. I would like to add the mountain was icy but even with that detail the tearing of the jacket should still not happen on my FIRST fall. Very cheaply made in my opinion. Hope this helps. Cheers!

My husband is XXL in normal shirts but jacket was too big and does not fit well on waist and sleevesIt was not warm and snow continued to come up under the jacket when he was skiing in jackson hole. He is an excellent skier and felt this product did not work well due to being wet and cold after a few runs.Color is great, liner is good.

the hood is not able to fit and cover my head well. not recommend this to anybody from this brand!

I was very dissapointed in this jacket. I saw this for sale and I loved the color as it fit my board and binding. After only using this product a few times the velcro on the sleeve straps started to fray and the right arm strap tore completely out of the jacket.

North face products are way over priced for the company not to stand behind it's warranty. I have purchased many north face products and have been satisfied with the brand until several of the items had defects. I paid $90 for a pair of men's ski gloves and used them one season. They were very comfortable and extremely warm. However, during the use of the 2nd season first time out the outer layer started peeling off. By the end of the day the outer layer was completely gone. When I returned them to north face I received a coupon in the mail for $75 towards the purchase of a new pair. Their men's ski gloves are now $145. I also returned the inner lining of my tri-climate jacket as the Velcro from the outer layer had snagged the fabric so bad it has become difficult to zip. North face contacted me and told me that warranty doesn't cover material damage. I pointed out that it was their product that caused the damage, I was told that my case would be escalated and north face would be contacting me... I received an email stating that they were returning my jacket was being returned "as-is"... I WILL NEVER PUCHASE ANOTHER NORTH FACE PRODUCT.

Had high hopes of this jacket keeping me warm, at 35-40F I was cold.
