This is excellent tape. I don't get the one star reviews. I bought it to put up a paper towel holder and it's STRONG. I like that it's clear too. If you use white tape on something where it will show, it's too obvious. So far, so good with this stuff. I'll update if anything changes.

This tape is awesome, I use it to tape the inside of my Asic GT3000's toe box to make the shoes last longer. Excellent tape, I will buy again. I know my feet sweat a little bit when I am running but the tape hold in place, it really is amazing stuff. I have only needed to rea-aply the tape once after 6 months of use inside the toe box of my (on one pair) of my shoes. I have used this tape on at least 3 pairs of my GT3000's.

Extremely sticky and gooey tape. I used it to mount my HD antenna. Seems to be overkill because the tape is so strong and the antenna is only about a pound. Seems like this stuff can easily mount heavy objects on multiple surfaces.

Love this tape can't find anything bad to say about it. I've used it for just about everything you could imagine that requires a double-sided tape. This time we mounted driving lights on my son's quad. Now will wait about 24 hours and then take it out for a ride and see how it holds up against all the bumps and rocks.

if you want it to stay forever and not come off get thus stuff. i used it to hang a metal 5lb box to the wall and it held like a champ. says it rated to 10lbs and i believe it.

This carpet tape really works great. Put it on carpet steps and they don't move at all.

Bought this for my dorm room, and it worked great for getting my rug to stay down. Not a lot of tape was required to get it to stick, so I still have plenty left. The only thing I would caution people about is that the tape sticks to itself very easily and is very difficult to take apart once stuck, so you need to be careful when taking a piece off.

Worked perfect for holding rug down on ceramic tile and carpet.

Bought more expensive "double sided rug tape" from Home Depot, but it did not work for my 14' hallway rug runner that is placed on a low pile carpet. Saw the other reviews and gave this a try. This tape works perfectly for my carpet-on-carpet application. It might not have been needed, but I taped down the entire perimeter of the bottom of the rug. Even vacuumed today and the runner did not move at all!

Months and MANY dollars wasted trying everything else under the sun to get a large runner rug to stay put on our carpet and this FINALLY worked. Its a rather long and heavy runner being used to cover a large stain from previous owners, so I did put more than advised on. I am happy to say it's been in place over 2 months now with 3 larges and 2 active humans walking on it everyday and a weekly vacuum, hasn't budged!

This double sided tape has worked really awesome! It is a little hard to get the backing off the tape once it is stuck on something, but thats not a huge deal. It sticks really well and is actually almost like a gel tape with as flexible as it is. I would definitely buy this again.

just what I needed...industrial strength, and a little thick, but they hold well.I use it to stick on masonry or brick, but be sure to wash / wipe the dust / loose items off before using :)

OK - maybe I got old tape - very hard to find a piece of the non-sticky clear protector to remove. Seems to hold OK - I thought because it was Gorilla it would be awesome, but I don't see any difference than any other 2 sided tape I have. ?Maybe mine was old?

A little difficult to peel off the back layer, other than that it does the job.

I liked this product it worked well I gave it 4 star rating because in one use it failed. but in 5 other times I used it, it worked well

My wife is a teacher and loves using this in her classroom. She has cinder block walls and says this is the ONLY thing she has found that holds items on the walls. She uses it for posters, cardboard signs, and even a small quilt-like wall hanging. Her only problem with this is that it is hard to peel the second part of the double sided tape. This may be because her nails are not short and are not very sharp. She still thinks it is worth it and the best thing she has found. Last year, she used it to hang posters outside on the brick walls of the school and others contacted her to find out what she used because they have never seen anything hold a poster up for so long.

It is VERY STICKY. In the test, it didn't seem to hurt my brand-new hickory flooring. But it is devilishly hard to peel the protective plastic off the tape. Take the tiniest, finest little knife you can find and slit your wrists with it after a long struggle to get these buggers apart, and then ask the paramedics to do that job. Before giving you first aid.

Worked perfectly to hold down stair treads which is great considering we have a 100+ lb black lab who runs up and down the steps.

I have a stubborn rug (on top of carpet) that moved around like a mofo. I say moved because I double sided taped that sucker down. Hasn't move an inch since I got it a month ago. Holding off the nail gun to see if this worked panned out pretty well. Its a 7ish by 5ish rug, I had enough to put four solid lines on it. Very effective

A little bit disappointed with the holding strength. I have used better glue-style tapes, thinner and better holding power, when used for the same type of applications. I am a fan of the Gorilla glues, so I was surprised when this tape did not meet my expectations. I am holding out hope that I will find an application where this tape will shine. Will update my review if I do.

Is just Ok not a bid deal. You may get something better than this. I used it to glue a small plastic rail for show curtains. Let it dry for over 24hs and the small plastic rail came apart easily.

I hung a hook on my wall and while I did load it with some weight I didn't think I was going over board and it fell off my wall after like three days lol. Only use for lighter loads or be prepared to use a lot of tape

3 star rating is pretty accurate, it's okay. Don't expect anything great from double sided tape as it stands. It's better than any budget stuff you can find but it didn't knock my socks off.

This tape did not stick very well to semi rough wood, I needed to press it and pound on it to get it to stick. I tried to use it to hold router templates and it has some flex to it causing the guitar body to be out of speck. It would probably be good at holding something on the wall.

I brought 3M Shower Caddy holder and it fell down a few days later. The 3m double sided tape that came in package was sucky. I brought this Gorilla Clear mounting tape and it holds better than I expected. Very sticky careful when cutting strips.

This tape doesnt last as long as I needed it to. The rugs would still move, especially in the higher traffic areas. I mean, thats why I bought the tape! I need them to stay in place. And they did for a few months, but then you could tell they were starting to move. I would probably try another product before I bought this again

It's cheap and works very temporarily. It does not hold well or long. I used it on medium carpet and hard wood floors.

The product works as described. I use it to hold down carpet stair treads. I had purchased a different brand before and was unable to find it so I ordered this brand. It does not hold as well as I would like it to, I had to redo a couple of my treads because the tape would not hold, also I found it very hard to remove the protective backing. I wish I could have given it more stars, but I have had some issues with this brand.Overall, it does what it says it does what it is suppose to do.

I bought this to use on area rugs that are on carpet because they walk too much, but am finding they stick more to the carpet and let my rugs still walk. Have to look for something more heavy duty I guess. Probably would be good for rugs on plain floors.

Worked out nicely while it lasted the 3 weeks. Two of the three rugs are all back to slipping and sliding!

I bought this tape in efforts to hang a tapestry on my wall. I am aware that this is not the intended use of the tape, but I can usually rely on anything gorilla brand so I figured, why not? It works, I mean the tapestry is on my wall as I type this however, every few days or so it requires more taping. If you're looking to buy this for traditional gorilla tape uses, I'd recommend using extra caution in considering the material you wish to tape.

Not that great, I really expected more from Gorilla. I would compare it to an aggressive form of sticky that new credit cards come with stuck to paper. It didn't hold up to most of the applications I tried to use it on. HOWEVER, I am sure it would work great to hold up a piece of paper to a wall, like a kids drawing that you felt obligated to keep.The part of this that was the most sticky was the piece you are supposed to pull off to show the other sticky side. Now that is no kids game, like a real pain the neck to get off. If the entire product worked as well as that piece, now we are talking! (Spoiler, it doesn't)Overall, not that great, no real issues, just not that great.

This is like thick plastic and don't hold nothing that you use it for. I tried using this on some strip lights on the wall in my kitchen and it didn't hold. I'm not pleased with none of the Gorilla Brand items.

I used it to mount some lightweight window shade fabric to the window frame. It stuck to both the frame and fabric for 6 days until there was wind. Then the fabric from all 3 windows came right off leaving the tape exposed to dirt and debris. It says that it sticks to rough surfaces but does not mention that the hold is not strong on rough surfaces. I wasted my money for 10 out of the 12 packs that I purchased

I was not impressed at all with this product. It did not hold a very light wall fixture/picture (of a few pounds). The picture fell within a matter of minutes. I threw it in the drawer and never used it again

This mounting tape was not very useful. I used it to mount a few low weight frames and they stayed for about an hour and then they came crashing down. I don't recommend it.

What the heck did I need this for?

I wasn't expecting a miracle; but after a couple of attempts, I have to say it isn't effective. I wanted it to keep a runner and another larger accent rug in place, and both were constantly shifting, with the tape not sticking at all, or getting stuck to itself. In the end, I got the rubberized adhesive webbing, which works much better. The carpet tape is little more than double-sided masking tape.

You can do better. Sticks to everything but the rug.

I used (or tried to) this tape to tape a rug down to carpet so my toddler would stop tripping over it. It just doesn't stick. It sticks to the carpet, but not to the back of the rug. I think it held for maybe a week. Bummer! I was hoping to help the kid out a little bit, but...mommy fail.

I was hoping that this product would help with the rolling edges of my carpet on hardwood. It did, but only for a short time........sorry, not what I hoped it would be.

This tape is a complicated mess!!! Very difficult to peel the backing off without it tangling up. Then it sticks to itself and you've wasted a section of tape. Barely sticks to metal and definitely doesn't stick to and fabric of any kind!!!

Near impossible to work with since the tape sticks to itself and ends up wrinkled. I doubt I was able to use even half of it.

Worthless product. The "clear liner" cannot be removed. I tried scoring it with a razor blade, peeling the edge back, trying to remove it before affixing the sticky side, as well as after affixing the sticky side. I gave up and threw it out!!

This tape is worthless. I bought it looking for something that might hold up heavier items than Command strips might; after all, it advertises that it can hold up to 15 lbs, and it's made by Gorilla Glue! Boy was I wrong. First I tried to hang a 2-3 lb, cheap, dorm mirror on the wall. A mirror I've been hanging with command strips for 5 years. After it fell off the wall 4 times I gave up with that one (I had only used maybe 4-5 inches of tape, saving the rest for a larger item, so I figured maybe the tape had lost its stick after the 1st or second fall.Then I tried to hang a 2.1 lb coat hanger, hoping to avoid using screws on the walls of a rented apartment. I lined the ENTIRE back of the hanger with the tape, using the rest of the roll (ti's not a very long roll). The hanger fell off the wall within 20 minutes. Initially I chalked it up to the fact that I hung my (lightweight) raincoats on it, and figured I'd put it back up and let it sit overnight, to make sure it's secure. It lasted overnight, with nothing on it, but I came home after work that day to find it had fallen again, this time tape-side down on the wood/laminate floor. Of course now it was stuck, with gravity working with it instead of against it. I spent the next 20 minutes with a hair dryer and a knife trying to remove the hook hanger from the floor.In sum, the entire roll was a waste, and couldn't hold 1/5th of the weight it advertises it can.

It is impossible to remove the protective layer after fixing the tape to the first item.This tape is useles and will be sending it back.I use other Gorilla product like the duct tape and it is the best duct tape out there, butthe mounting tape is pure gargage.

I was unable to use it... I could not remove the liner to expose the double stick side... this was totally useless.

Purchased to hold down fabric that resembled carpet and tile flooring in a doll house. It would not hold. Can't imagine how it would hold real carpet.
