Five Star Reviews: | 69% P.I Auto Store Premium DTI - Worked perfectly when I needed it. September 30, 2017 GET THIS! I’ve driven over 5,000 miles this past month. 2500 miles ago I ordered this little wonder before the hurricane arrived, knowing how few gas stations are equipped with air-machines that work. No more searching high and low for air. My tires are excellent, but still, changes in carrying loads, heat conditions, and lengthy straightdrive times contribute to fluctuations. I’ve used the P.I. Store Premium Digital Tire Inflator twice this month in rural mountain areas whilst driving away from Hurricane Irma. No doubt about it, I feel GOOD with this machine in my car. I had no problem filling for 35# and 33# pressures. Everything worked right out of the box, which was a blessing because I didn't have time to test it before leaving. I'm a woman, but it should work for men, too: follow the instructions -- fill to 1# of pressure over the rating to allow for loss of air when removing the stem. After filling I check the pressure with a hand held tire gauge. It's been right on the mark. If it weren't, it's no big deal to add or release air. The power chord is plenty long to reach all tires easily. The sound isn't as loud as another company's model that I heard, and the fill time for me was under 1 minute, less time than the other company's. Also, I like that the gauge is digital. The unit is light weight and fits snugly into its cloth storage case. For me THIS PRODUCT WAS WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN GOLD. I was grateful to have it on board. Thank you P.I Auto!I’ve recommended this to my relatives. Ten stars.(Review is for https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00WOT3YM6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) Perfect for quick and easy tire inflator. May 29, 2017 This tire inflator is perfect for anyone to use. Set the PSi and this tire inflator does the rest. We travel with it now. You know your tires are going to get low April 27, 2017 OK this isn't the cheapest tire inflator you can get but it's one of the most reliable. I've had others and I'm rough on them. The others didn't last this one has. Plus the people at P.I. were helpful as can be. Seems to be the way to go August 8, 2016 It works as advertised. I used it a few different times airing back up after driving at the beach. It takes a bit longer than I had anticipated (roughly 8-10 minutes per tire for 40psi) but it's powered off the car's 12 volt outlet so I don't fault the product. The only thing that would make this perfect is an option to let you deflate to a preset psi. I would actually consider buying another one if they included that feature. GREAT TIRE INFLATOR - EXCELLENT VALUE - SUPERB PERFORMANCE! June 4, 2016 If you are looking for an inexpensive, but good quality 12 volt tire inflation compressor, this is the product for you! I read a number of reviews and settled on this product. It arrived and I immediately put it to use. It's a very compact, efficient design, with compartments to store the air hose, as well as the 12 volt power cord. It also comes with a convenience carrying case. The power cord seems to be long enough to reach all tires, although I purchased a heavy duty 12 volt accessory extension, just in case. The inflator has a digital display for setting and reading the tire pressure in multiple units of measure, including the US PSI measure. It seems to have plenty of power to inflate all types of tires, even those that require 50 lbs PSI. Some reviews complained about the fact that air escapes when unscrewing the air hose from the tire valve. However, I did not find this to be an issue. You simply have to unscrew it without delay. Only a slight amount of air will escape if you do this quickly. To have the convenience of the screw on air hose is definitely a huge plus with this product. In summary, if you are looking for a great tire inflator, at a reasonable price, then do not hesitate to buy this product. The seller I purchased this from was also quite good. With email communication and delivery on time. Excellent tire inflator! November 13, 2015 This is an excellent tire inflator. I have used it only once so far but it topped off about 2 psi in my car tires in less than minute each. Its very convenient and easy to use. The only drawbacks I have noticed so far are that you lose some pressure while taking the inflator off the tire and its a little noisy but I am more than happy with this inflator. | 77% Excellent chrome cap replacements July 10, 2017 Over time chrome caps on car tires come off. These were an affordable replacement to OEM caps. They fit well and look great. So far so good. Suggest silicon and occasional checking to avoid problems, February 7, 2016 So far so good. Heeding warnings from previous reviews, I put a little silicone on the stem. I'll also just loosen and tighten them once in awhile, maybe annually, to be sure they don't freeze on. Thanks to previous reviewers for those warnings. Nice caps September 16, 2015 Very nice, solid brass caps. You can feel the weight in them! I lubricated the threads and rubber seal with a touch of O-ring lubricant to avoid the sticking problems some have mentioned. I believe that if you are having problems with valve stems/caps corroding, you are not taking proper care of your vehicle! Great buy July 31, 2014 Well made. Look great. The rubber seal gives me the feeling they will slow a leak in the valve core. I don't know if this is true or not, but I have a little extra confidence. Simple – Looks good May 19, 2014 These are straight forward, good looking, chrome valve stem caps. They don’t really make a statement or attract your attention. They blend in nicely with the chrome laced wheels on my Shadow. They seem to be fairly durable. |
Four Star Reviews: | 15% So far,so good. September 11, 2017 I had no problems with except it doesn't let you know when you reach or suggested psi and it's a little loud, but other than that, it worked very well. I didn't have to wait long to put the air in the tires, which is a good thing. I was a little nervous at first because I can count on one hand the times I had to put air in a vehicle. So far, so good. Works for Car Tires September 2, 2017 I don't know if this is how these things work, but the unit I have displays varying PSI when you are inflating a car tire. Say you are going for 35PSI, and you are at 18, it will display 19 for a second, then 18, then 17, then 19.5, then 17, then 18, then 20, 19, 17.5, 20.5... basically, it trends up over time but shows lower numbers throughout the process rather than a steady climbing number. I thought I was losing air the first time I used it. Takes probably 5 minutes to go from 18 to 35 PSI so its not a fast process but it's surprisingly small and compact. Great prodcut March 29, 2017 does exactly what I expect it to do, I carry this along when I go out on the trails riding ATV, also I use it on my cars, no more worrying about having change to get air in my tire. It is louder than I thought but I can't complain, this machine is compact and works great. I may get another on at tis price, highly recommend it and oh yeah the flash light does come in handy Great little pump; easy to stash February 15, 2017 The inflator does everything it is supposed to do. It is small (easy to stash in the SXS), fairly powerful for it's size and has handled all the tires I've used it on from the ATV, trailer and the Jeep. I do have an issue with the on/off switch; it takes a couple of on/off cycles to get the pump running, but, once it starts it does its thing with aplomb. Would I buy it again...? You bet, even with the on/off glitch. Works well and quickly for such a small device. December 19, 2016 The other day my new car's pressure monitoring system announced I had lost pressure in one tire. I checked it, and sure enough, it was down about nine pounds -- so I set about finding a local gas station with an air machine. Two were down with malfunctions, and another had a huge line. The next day, both broken ones had been "fixed," but neither seemed able to muster enough pressure to fill my tire. So I actually bought this machine to fill a specific tire. The same day it arrived, I took it out of the box, surprised at how small it was -- maybe the size of a hardcover book -- and connected it to the car in the garage. You have to connect it to the car's "cigarette lighter" adapter and turn the accessory power on with the key. The cord is nice and long and easily sat on the ground next to the rear tire. It added the nine pounds I needed in less than a minute. I like the ability to set the pressure you want, although you have to time it a bit -- you want to remove it from the valve as soon it's done or some air can leak back out. It worked so well I topped off my other tires, then backed my wife's car out of the garage and showed her how to use it. Her tires all needed a few pounds, and the machine filled them all at just a couple of minutes each. It was actually much faster than the newer, weaker machines at the gas stations recently. This is a lightweight device, which is convenient for carrying -- it would almost go in a large glovebox -- but I do wonder about durability. Still, for the price, filling five tires easily and quickly at home vs. waiting in line and / or paying $1 per minute makes it a no-brainer. For this price, everyone should have one of these tucked away in their car somewhere. Great product with some deficiencies October 10, 2016 It does the job quick and easy. It is also small, so you can put it anywhere without taking much space. The problem is that it won't measure the pressure level very accurate. I would recommend getting a tire gauge with it. Something I need to "praise" about this company is that they have an amazing customer service. They will reply right away to any emails, and they are very nice people to deal with. | 9% Good product April 5, 2015 can't get too excited about valve stems, but they arrived intact and on time. They fit and look nice Got two packs so I'll have spares February 28, 2015 These have nice little rubber gaskets inside to make a soft seal against your valve stems. |
Three Star Reviews: | 4% " like my previous cord it does not run any of ... June 26, 2017 Product said "Perfect for... tire inflators, portable RV coolers, etc." like my previous cord it does not run any of those items. Best it could do is run a small light Three Stars May 19, 2017 product is ok but , you set the pressure and the system is not accurate measure Very meh February 12, 2017 It gets the job done, it's just a little finicky. When you set a certain psi, it will underfill to that value and shut off early. You just have to crank up the number to get it where you want. Gets it done, highly imperfectly. For the price. OK by me. October 3, 2016 Without question regardless of other reviews, this product is at a minimum 4 PSI off from calibrated measurements. At a minimum I highly recommend that one also have a solid reliable air pressure gauge to use in order to ensure that the final result is correct. Do not just rely on the PSI indicator on this inflator. For me this infllator is acceptable as I adjust settings accordingly and may even skew PSI by 7 as a target to make sure that there is enough air in the tire. It is easy to release any excess. The unit is loud period. or me no big deal. If is also a bit finicky as it sometimes requires me to list a target PSI significantly above what I need to.. get the unit to function. Again though, as long as I get the air in the tires, it prevents me from having to do it at a gas station in the elements, hoping that the machine at the station works...etc. Bottom line I'll take this unit and not complain.. much. It gets it done and the price is not unreasonable. My two cts. That is easy to workaround September 23, 2016 The digital measurement is off by 3 PSI. That is easy to workaround. However, it does not release air out if the PSI is higher than what you set to.So the only way is to release air and then bump the PSI back up. That is a bit annoying. Good for long trips when you need air in a pinch April 23, 2016 Good little inflator if you need to fill your tires in a pinch. However, it is very noisy and will disrupt the neighborhood. I also don't know how accurate the digital read is, but I have only used it once so it is hard to say. | 7% Tire Treat October 7, 2013 The valve stems arrived quickly and look very nice. Unfortunately there are too shallow and do not cover the entire valve stem. Consequently some of the brass stem threads a visible below the cap. Not the look I was going for. Look great but don't fit right. August 29, 2013 These stems look great. The problem is they don't quite fit on my '12 escape. You can still see some of the gold on the stem with these on. Wish they were a little deeper. Too short August 13, 2013 I bought these for the tires of my Ram 1500. They were too short. They didn't even cover all of the threds on the valve stems. So, I put them in my tool box and will use them on some car that I have in the future. Disappointed though because I thought they would look good on my truck. |
Two Star Reviews: | 2% Kind of works :( August 30, 2017 pump fails to fill tires above 65 PSI or so and frequently it shuts off prior to hitting the mark and then you have to turn it on several times to get it and a few more psi at time. would return it but I am past the window to do so. Worn out connector December 22, 2016 I bought this unit in May of 2016, 7 months ago, and use it all the time with my RV. Unfortunately, the screw-on air hose no longer stays on the tire valve stems. The internal threads must be very thin and are worn out, the hose pops off the valve. I have to manually hold the hose onto the valve in order to get it to work. It would be better to have a clamp on type air hose to valve stem connector. Cheap quality, but works...sometimes. August 23, 2016 My first impression was that the the inflator seems super cheap. It has the look, feel and packaging of a generic promotional item you'd get free with someone's logo plastered all over it.Once you remove the adaptors to inflate balls or whatever, they continue to fall out every time you move the inflator. We lost the air mattress adaptor thing within the first hour. The carry case is a nice touch, but it had torn stitching and ripped seams right out of the box.I was able to inflate two car tires pretty quickly, then it stopped working and had to cool down. The instructions indicate that it can be used for 10 minutes but will have to cool for 10 minutes. It was more like 4 minutes on, 20 minutes cool off. Also, the threaded inflator hose is a huge nuisance. I lost a quarter of the pressure in every tire just trying to get the thing off after inflating. It starts releasing air after about one turn, then continues deflating the tire for 5-6 more turns.I think the pressure gauge and automatic cut off are accurate, but it was such a pain to use and I lost so much air when disconnecting the hose from the tire that I would call this useless; except for maybe in emergencies.Disclaimer: I paid full-price for this product after researching several similar products on Amazon, so this is about as honest a review as you'll get. Does the job just would have preferred a quick release ... January 8, 2016 Does the job just would have preferred a quick release rather than a screw release. Have to over fill tire a little then use tire pressure gauge to adjust tire to proper pressure. Also, built in gauge to set pressure is off by 3-4 lbs so you have to set pressure gauge higher than needed to get correct air pressure in tire. After a particular pressure is selected using the buttons it is better to have a confirm button to lock the selected ... December 6, 2015 The item did not arrive as shown in the website. There is no sticker which shows the 'set', 'increase' and 'decrease' buttons. I had to figure that out by trial and error. After a particular pressure is selected using the buttons it is better to have a confirm button to lock the selected pressure. Except for the auto shutoff feature i'm not satisfied with the over all product. Will return it. Not User Friendly July 13, 2015 The inflation connector screws on to the tire. It is pretty secure, but when I try to take it off the tire partially deflates again. | 2% Very nice bit of kit. September 1, 2017 The design is quite good and comfortable, it looks great, very suitable for me.I use a period of time, feel with this thing is very convenient, if I will need to come again next time. Price was great and so was the product. I have to remember this store, if need, I will come back again. Would not hesitate to order again! Would buy again!! What a great deal! Ok but the chrome peeled and cut my fingers April 30, 2015 They seem like decent stem caps, better then the ones that come with new tires. However I write this review with two new band aids on my fingers. One on my thumb and one on my index finger. The chrome surface was peeling off and I didn't know it. So as I went around my car replacing the standard caps with these new ones I had cut into my fingers causing me to bleed. So while these are ok chrome plated stem caps I would not recommend them to others or buy them again. |
One Star Reviews: | 10% Cord has a short in it. May 9, 2017 I bought this item to power an LED light kit, that was mounted in a stationary position, several months later my lights weren't working correctly, after manipulating the wires I found the short. The return policy was only good for a month. Unit Failed After One Use, No Response to Requests for Warranty Replacement March 30, 2017 This is the first product we have purchased via Amazon Prime that we have rated with a single star. Based on our experience, this product clearly deserves it. It's startling to see most customers who have bought this inflator raving about it. The unit we purchased worked fine the first time we used it. It has never worked reliably since. No matter how we set the pressure on the device, it keeps shutting itself off well before any useful pressure has been added to a deflated tire. I purchased this unit as a safety item for my wife who drives long cross country routes as a visiting therapist, so the fact that it soundly fails to deliver air pressure makes it completely useless. To add insult to injury, we have tried on two occasions to reach the manufacturer to request a new unit or a refund. The only method to contact them from their website is a contact form, which according to the website will be responded to within 48 hours. To date we have never received a reply from them on either occasion. At this point we're giving up getting any form of satisfaction, and will purchase a real tire inflation device from a more reputable company. Broken connector January 30, 2017 The connector that goes in cigarette lighter broke apart & I can't get it back together. Running good until that. Didn't work December 21, 2016 Would not inflate the tire. I could feel air coming out where the inflating hose joined the inflator. Had to return it. Buyer Beware January 7, 2016 DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. On my first use, the product turned off prior to reaching my set psi. Raised the psi setting and same result. Cheaply made and not worth the cost | 5% Bought these stem caps because I thought they looked nice. They caused a corrosive reaction with the valve ... September 11, 2015 Bought these stem caps because I thought they looked nice. They caused a corrosive reaction with the valve stems and made the caps impossible to remove. It cost me $300 to replace the pressure sensing stems that had to be snapped off. RUINED MY AIR VALVES June 10, 2015 I thought I made a great purchase when I put these caps on my air valves! They fit perfectly and they looked really great. Only problem is, I didn't know the little chrome caps would erode onto my air valves and rust onto them. Creating an impossible struggle of trying to take them off when my air pressure was low. The whole time I thought I had a super strong grip that led to the caps being too difficult to remove. After weeks of procrastination and a blow to my self esteem, I finally went to Firestone to get them removed and turned out that they completed melted onto my tire valve and I had to replace two air valve sensors. THIS WAS NOT WORTH THE PRICE OF $200 to replace my air valves just for the chrome look. May get stuck March 28, 2015 These looked cool and had a great run during the winter on my car. One day in the spring I went to take them off to add air to my tires and they were stuck. I had to use a wrench to basically rip them off, which damaged my valve stems. So far I've had to replace two valves in my tires because you can't just replace the stems. In the end, these have caused me a lot of time and frustration and an extra $100 so far look elsewhere February 1, 2014 When I recieved these they seemed pretty heavy duty, good weight. Upon install reliezed one wasn't threaded at all, and one looked threaded but wouldnt go on the stems. Crap idea to get these. |
