Side by Side Comparison of: SPT vs MIDEA

I've had this small fridge in my office for a couple months now. Really love the convenience of storing drinks and breakfast yoghurt, with no worries about items disappearing. I have not really tried to freeze anything, so cannot comment on the freezer performance. Very quiet. Not a bad looking piece either.Note that the box is huge and very heavy - I was able to unpack it by myself but anyone who has mobility issues will have trouble.

Perfect fit into a new Ikea 21" base cabinet. Looks like it's built in. Perfect for my office kitchenette.

I bought this refrigerator for my bedroom and it is the perfect size for my little room. I like how you can reverse the direction the door swings. Instructions in the manual are clear and easy to follow. The only thing I didn't like is how rough the original holes were drilled into the top. I had to hammer the edges down a bit so that the covers would sit flush with the top of the unit.Temperature-wise, at first I thought it wasn't cooling enough with the temperature control set midway so I turned the temperature control all the way to maximum. I came home today to find the drinks I had outside of the tiny freezer had frozen. I also put some frozen steaks in the freezer and placed one on the tray below the freezer to thaw. The steak I left on the tray is still frozen solid 3 days after I put it there. I guess its time for me to turn the temperature control down to a lower setting.This is a very quiet refrigerator. The only thing you'll hear is a distinct pop whenever the compressor turns on. The compressor itself is so quiet that you'll only hear it if you try and listen for it after you hear the pop. I don't know if that pop is normal but it happens all the time.

So far, so good with this refrigerator. I needed one for my office and this fits perfectly underneath my L-shaped desk. I have an ice block that I bring into work frozen and this keeps it frozen. I tried feezing it from the beginning of the day, but it did not freeze all the way through by the end of the day (9 hours). Still serves my purpose well, though. It chills beverages very quickly. The inside is a good size. I'm glad my husband talked me out of the 1.7 cubic sized ones. This one is just slightly bigger, but doesn't take up too much room. Perfect for the office.

Love this little work horse. Perfect to store frozen foods when I clean out the big refrigerator or have bulky foods that take up space in the big refrigerator.

I've had it about a month and is very good so far. Food stays very good cool and no cold spots. All around coolness is uniform and all food inside is cooled equally.It was pre-set at a temperature that is perfect, and I did not even have to adjust it.It is quiet for sure, and you can't hear it while it is running, unless you get real close to it. It has a little start up sound when it turn on, but that's about it.It arrived in excellent condition and was 'double packaged' for so it wouldn't get damaged.

Just what I needed for my office/tv room. Extremely quiet, plenty of room for one to store needed essentials and freezer compartment that works. No problems, only satisfaction !

I needed a small refrigerator because I had company coming and I wanted something they could put all their drinks in and not take over the kitchen refrigerator. I looked locally and I could not find one as cheap as I could here on Amazon. Can you believe that? I have Prime so it was delivered in 2 days. It works perfectly and is very cold. We actually had to turn it down because it froze the Watermelon we had stored in there.

Absolutely wonderful appliance! I purchased it mainly for my office space so I can have cold drinks while I work. The only regret is I wish I would've gotten one with a semi spacious freezer. I would've loved to store some goodies as well!

This is a very nice refrigerator. As others have noted, it is super quiet. My only disappointment is that I had hoped to install this under a counter, but upon opening the box (which by the way is nicely designed so that the refrigerator stays on the bottom but the top slides off) I noticed that it specifically states that the refrigerator is for free-standing installation only. In other words, not for installation under a counter. I had asked other reviewers if it could be installed under a counter, and they thought you could, but alas, you should not.

I've had my fridge refrigerator for nearly two months it works very well and it's very quiet I have it next to my bed in my master bedroom its a good investment for drinks late at night

Quiet and decently cool enough for perishable food.

We rent a large house and our office is upstairs. We hated going downstairs for water or other cold snacks. This refrigerator was a perfect answer.Pros* Fits a decent amount of items* Doesn't take up a ton of space in a room* Organization inside is very helpful (shelves, etc)* Very quiet* You can set it up to open the door from either side.* Very easy to cleanCons* Doesn't get quite as cold as we'd like* Ice chest / Freezer doesn't really work all that great* Wish we could remove or change the pop/beer holder on the door. We have no use for it.

I give this four stars because I can't give 3.5. I would have given 3.5 because it's large, works excellently at keeping food cold, and seems to freeze things put in the freezer, without too much frost. I would take away that missing 1.5 stars because it smells like a chemical plant melted down, every time I open the door to get food out. The plastic off-gasses a STRONG PVC smell that is so powerful it contaminates the mouths of bottles, and I can then smell that smell whenever I drink from a bottle I had in that fridge. Mmm mm mm, nothing quite as delicious as a bottle of ice cold water with the strong smell of potential cancer, with every sip. If you get this fridge, perhaps leaving the door open with it unplugged, for a month or a year might kill the smell, but I plugged it in immediately and started using it, right after opening the box.

The refrigerator works great. Perfect size for the office. Little concerned about the the dent that was found on the side from shipping.

The mini frig does not have light when door is open. At least I don't see a lamp on the wall inside. When I set the temperature to 6 or 6.5, max is 7 which is coldest, it froze my broccoli placed right under the freezer box. So I set it to 5 if I don't have cooked meat, and 5.5 if I do. A little bit noisy when its motor runs.

Compact and at a good price but so light-weight that you need to use both hands to open the door.

Everything about it is acceptable other than the door which is half unusable. I think the half is set up to hold 4 or 5 cans and dispense them. Worthless to me.

Not sure how the fridge works, but it's the second one our department has ordered and it came dented. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

I really like the size of the little fridge but the freezer doesn't work well.

Came with a big dent on the top

The freezer door (inner door) is held in place by plastic pins. I was surprised when one of these sheered off, but then noticed that the plastic pin is hollow!! How cheap can one get? I drilled a hole, put in a steel screw, and threaded the broken end of pin onto the screw head. The door works again, but unless you feel comfortable making such repairs, I'd recommend against buying this unit.

Not happy at all, brought the midea whs 160rq1 compact 26mos ago, today carpet is wet and food must be thrown out. I expected the refrigerator to last more then 2yrs. But this seem like a trend I have brought many item from Amazon.com and after a few months when warranty no longer available item stop working. Not happy at all.

The fridge itself was good and exactly what we expected. The packaging, however, left much to be desired. The box was broken and the fridge was dented in several places. We needed it desperately as our refrigerator had broken so we did not return it.

We have had this refrigerator in our office for a year and a half and it is already broken. Dead, no motor running nothing. Would not recommend this obviously very cheaply made.

I bought 4 of this refrigerators on September, 1 for myself and 3 for some friends, none of them are working any more. They only last for a month

Don't see a way to contact the seller to remedy the issue...purchased at the end of March and it died last night. Super frustrated!

Purchased this item on July 29, 2015. Stopped working 10/16/15. Less than 3 months. Just stopped working. Can't find any information on where to call, who to call, how to get this replaced. Less than 3 months. Please help.
