Works perfectly, but directions are terrible.
June 18, 2017
Works perfectly with my Optoma HD20. the instructions are terrible though. They show the sliding mechanisms coming together on the wrong ends. They forget to tell you to run the wire through the piece that connects to the sliding mechanism before you put the sliding mechanism together. Also you may have to get creative when you're connecting the rods to the projector. I had to slide one of the pieces that screw into the projector in backwards.
Perfect fit
April 27, 2017
This mount fits my Optomo HD142X perfectly. I had to remove one arm since the projector needs only one arm. Also I had to reverse one arm since the holes on the projector were closer. I intentionally bought this model though there is a new version since this has the option to install either the short version or the extended version.
Strong and durable material
March 4, 2017
I bought it for my new Epson 3000 projector. The package contains all the hardware ever needed for a basic home setup and the mount is very strong. I was able to install to my basement ceiling within 30 min. I would recommend to read through the installation sheet comes with that and/or watch their youtube video to understand various settings.
The packaging was good, item was secure and arrived in perfect condition
July 4, 2016
Full disclosure, I have been offered a gift in return for a review.I ordered this mount to install a new Epson HC2030. The packaging was good, item was secure and arrived in perfect condition. The materials are top notch, solid steel all around. It might be heavier than the projector. It looks good with a low gloss finish. Installation was a bit tricky, took a few tried to get a good mounting position with the 3 mounting holes on the Epson. Instructions were clear and easy to follow, once to take your time and read them. There are a lot of adjustments that can be made to get the projector level. I was able to get it mounted without needing any keystone adjustments pretty quickly. I like the easy cable management up the extension arm, makes for a cleaner install. There are a ton of parts in the box, but the screws are nicely labeled. I'm sure this would allow installation on just about anything you could want to hang from a ceiling. If I had complaints, it would be that it was a little confusing deciding the configuration I needed to get the mount onto the projector, but that's what happens when you use a universal mount.Overall, I'm very satisfied with the mount. It works great and looks good too.

This has worked perfectly. I wanted to see if I could install my projector without uninstalling a ceiling fan. Well with the extension it is perfect. It is just low enough so that the fan is not int he way, but high enough to where it is out of the way and we don't hit our heads on the projector. Fit great with BenQ W1070 projector.Tip: If you can, go in the attic and install a 2x6 between the ceiling joists where you plan to install the projector. This gives you something really sturdy to screw it into.
Great product! An elegant design that is very easy to assemble
July 12, 2014
This is a very elegantly designed ceiling mount for our Epson 3010 projector. The item arrived on time, and was very well packed. What I liked a lot was that the hardware items were packed in individually labeled plastic bubbles. The labels easily identify and place each of the items in the assembly instructions. The mount is designed to accommodate many different projector models; however, the instructions and parts packaging made it very easy to assemble the mounting bracket to our projector. Also, the cable management is good. We had a VGA cable, an HDMI cable, and a power cable, and they all easily fit withing the vertical extension piece and through the middle of the ceiling mounting bracket. The fully assembled mount looks really good in our church. I fully endorse this product.

Very simple and inexpensive mounting solution
October 2, 2017
This went together really easily. I mounted mine to the iRulu BL20 projector. Comes with a shorter set of feet used to attach to the projector which I needed. I had to order a second one since the first one came without four needed washer/nuts and the company wanted pictures of the parts I got and descriptions and it seemed like it would take forever which was way unnecessary so I just ordered a second one with the intention of returning the first one. However, I decided to keep the first one and mounted the "ceiling" part to a piece of plywood as a base and now can move the projector from the ceiling to the base and have the same adjustment capabilities for outside viewing which makes it really nice. No more stacking things on the table to get it right. Very simple and inexpensive mounting solution.
3 holes machine need to think about it.
September 17, 2017
I managed mount the 4 arms on to a projector with 3 mountain holes.I have to remove one arm, inverse one arm to be able to fit in. Took a while but can be done. The center of this mountain bracket is not over the center of the mass of the projector, so I have to fasten quite some nuts to level the projector.Overall the design is OK with enough tilt options for mountain my machine.
Strong and sturdy
April 26, 2017
This holds our projector from the ceiling. Hasn't loosened up yet or anything. It also gives you the option of lifting or lowering the projector a bit which is nice. No ones walked into it so it doesn't hang super low either.

March 19, 2017
This is a dynamite mount. I have secured it and taken it back down and re secured it at a new house. It has very precise movement if you take your time and move it incrementally. The mount pole also allows you to hide the cables neatly. unfortunately you have to take it most of the way apart to get new cables in there. But with most things being HDMI these days or able to be with adapter you really shouldn't need to do much moving.

November 4, 2016
Was skeptical at first as mu projectors mounting hols only allow for 3 mounts, and they are offset, not centered about the center of gravity, but the versatility of this mount is amazing. I was able to stretch the legs and line them up such that the rod is almost centered over the center of mass and pivot the legs to mount in all 3 holes. I just removed the 4th one since I don't need it. Was an very easy piece to mount, more than enough hardware for all mounting applications and my projectors look slick hanging from the ceiling in my bedroom.I highly recommend you locate the studs in the ceiling, then mock up the mounting location and test the projector to ensure you get the screen real-estate on the wall you are projecting to first, if you just throw it up, you may not be happy with the place you first mounted it. You may be thinking that I went through this pain, however, no I did not, I planned ahead. The one thing I did do was mount the rod backwards the first time and had to un screw it all and flip it around. Wasn't necessary, but I am meticulous and wanted the wires coming out of the rear of the rod to plug into the rear of the projector. It just wouldn't look right any other way.
Perfect for my Benq W1000+
September 4, 2016
With the low price I didn't know what to what to expect but I'm very happy that I purchased it.PROS:The variety of options mounting options you can do are incredible. There were screws for what seems like every time of projector on the planet.I find it easy to take down, i use this projector as an outdoor projector on occasion and in one section you can unscrew 2 screws and safely unmount the projector. I can then turn over the projector and unmount the whole assembly from the projector. In the matter of 2 minutes I have the projector removed from the mount. It's just as easy to get back up!CONS:None for my overhead set up with a Benq W1000+. The only debate I have is whether to keep all the extra parts or toss them.Overall,I highly recommend this mount for your projector, it is extremely adaptable and secure. I noticed others have said the paint my scratch but I have not had any issues at all and find it quite durable.

QualGear ceiling mount intimidating, but easier than looks
January 23, 2017
Product's a little intimidating out of the box due to the number of parts. However, after you get everything out, you can see that there are a lot of parts you won't use, but allow the ceiling mount to be used on the widest variety of projectors. The instructions are among the best I've seen. Very intuitive. Only weird part is there were mount instructions for wood and concrete...and it must have mentioned drywall only too, but I didn't see anything saying reinforce, use fan mount bar in ceiling joists, etc. Solid piece of equipment and mount template was useful too.
Solid Performer, Very configurable. Check ALL Screws.
September 8, 2016
Overall, outstanding bit of kit. Yes, there is a minimum distance that the risers will shrink to, if you don't use the flush mount configuration. Adjust-ability is good, and there are many screws provided for attaching the projector. The Pivot Head to Projector attachment method could not possibly be better - it seems like every possible (reasonable) configuration of screw holes is covered. There are two screws inside the Pivot Head that arrived loose, and there were no instructions to check or tighten. These two screws are not meant to be adjusted by the end-user - it is part of the factory build. If you buy this model, please CHECK these screws. I purchased lockwashers and secured then with a 10mm box wrench.Other than that, it is a very good mount.

Lets keep this review short and sweet. Epson Home Cinema 3000- this bracket has 4 arms, the 3000 has 5 holes. 4 arms is more than enough to support the projector, no complaint there. I had to use 3 long arms and 1 short arm. I don't know if you'll believe me but because of the placement, it was ALMOST centered on the projector, not perfect, but quite close. The ONLY issue I have with this is when you try to angle it correctly to fit the screen the way you want its quite hard to make it stay in a spot. I had to almost bend parts to keep it where I wanted it. I will never touch the projector so it really isn't an issue to me but...ya know. I would buy this again all day long. Very nice and CHEAP.
Pretty easy to install
February 15, 2015
Hold very secure. The extra am to drop it lower works well, although it does make it more prone to shaking with vibrations. Pretty easy to install. The instructions are s little muddled, but it is pretty straight forward. Can be adjusted in multiple ways fairly easily. Just make sure it is straight on when installed. You are not able to twist right to left without taking it down and adjusting the attachment points. Also make sure you take in to account where the lens is on your projector. Most are off center. So when you measure on where to install the mount, it will need to be shifted slightly to account for the offset lens.
Great Product - BenQ W1070
September 30, 2013
I usually don't write reviews (though read everyone before buying anything). So decided not to be leach and contribute as I struggled to find a write mount for my BenQ W1070.Fits like a Glove. You just need to be little creative, as the manual is a joke. Its pretty sturdy, even to be installed just on sheet rock without any studs. There is no plastic anywhere, its all powder coated steel. It provides both Horizontal and Vertical adjustments angle wise (this is very important to align the picture on the screen, if you choose not to use the Keystone or lens shift).Cons : Screws that are provided to anchor to the ceiling are not of high quality. Just do it slowly with high torque or use a hex nut . Like I said earlier, don't rely on the manual Height adjustment is limited . Minimum of about 6" height, then your other choice starts from 16". In my case not a big deal, but you may need to know. I personally didn't use the extension armTook a star out for above 3 reasons. Here is a simple configuration to be used for BenQ W1070Benq 1070 comes with 3 holes in an asymmetrical mode. Leave 2 arms that comes with mount untouched (we shall be using only 1 and other one is unsed) . Align one arm with a hole on projector (this is the one on center (relatively speaking)).Replace 2 other arms with Small arms that came with. One small arm is almost all the way in and other small arm is somewhere in the middle. Align the holes with projector and put the screws it came with. The middle piece that connects the projector to the ceiling plate can be adjusted both horizontally and vertically to some extent. Once you know the location on the ceiling, mark it and attach it. Its quite straight forward.I would strongly recommend this product for Ben Q W1070.
Works for my Optima HD20
February 14, 2013
I use this mount with an Optima HD20. It includes multiple screw sets for different size projector mounting holes and 2 allen wrenches. The only tools I needed were a phillips screw driver and drill with a small bit for pilot holes where I mounted it to the ceiling. The instructions are minimal, but it is not a complicated assembly. The mount is designed for a projector with four holes, but my Optima HD20 only has three. After my initial attempt to use it, I was ready to send it back because I could not figure out how to mount it to the Optima. The Optima's mounting points are much closer together than the arms on the mount, even when using the two supplied short brackets. However, after thinking on it for a day, I was able to reconfigure the mounting arms to work by removing all the arms, attaching them to the mounting holes on the projector, then reinstalling them to the mount backwards, thus shortening the distance between the mounting points. In the end, I used only three of the four arms, and it works perfectly. It would have been easier if the mount included more short mounting bracket. It comes with 2, so it took me a full day to realize that I could still mount the longer ones backwards to shorten the distance. The mount was flexible enough to allow me to make it work, without any modification to the mount it self, just some minor reassembly. Once the projector was attached to the arms, attaching it to the ceiling was a no brainer. I did not use the extension arms, but there was ample room to adjust and tighten the screws. I would have given it 5 stars if it had come with four short mounting brackets and better instructions to show how you could mount the brackets backwards without sacrificing its strength.

Great range of connections to fit a lot of projectors
July 24, 2017
Great range of connections to fit a lot of projectors. I took off one star due to my particular set up. Most of the connecting mounts on my projector are on one side. Once I inverted the projector, I noticed there is a lack of option to level out my projector due to the unbalanced weight on one end. I should be able to rig up something and it is a very minor issue but it is noticeable on my screen.
Great mounts, would like one a little longer.
October 7, 2015
Works well with my cheapo LED projector; it had a bit of a non-standard mount pattern but I was able to switch around the various brackets to get it to fit without any actual modification. The pole it comes with is nice, but isn't long enough for my application - I needed almost four feet; I have a 12' vaulted ceiling and the projector only has so much keystone adjustment, not to mention it made it easy for me to reach up and push buttons on the projector that way. I wound up buying a piece of composite trim (1"x2") from the local home center and cut it to length, then used screws to attach the mount to it on both ends. Works like a charm!
Excellent Purchase - Definitely worth it (read for why it's only 4-stars)
June 10, 2015
I ordered this, as suggested by Amazon's "usually ordered with" feature when purchasing the Optoma HD141x. Unfortunately the screws included with this bracket aren't long enough to actually mount the bracket to the projector. The screw heads are small enough that the bracket from the projector fits right over, so it won't hold. However, when you use the included washers, the screws aren't long enough to engage the threads. I drove to Home Depot and spent $0.75 for slightly longer screws and as it turns out the heads were large enough on these that I didn't need the washers though they should be used anyway. One of the mounting brackets had to be reversed to fit. The Optoma HD141x had 3 mount holes. This bracket is flexible and configurable enough to make it work but there are no instructions indicating that this might need to be done however anyone installing this type of equipment "should" be able to figure this out. Also, if the joist you are mounting this bracket to runs across the room (horizontal to display surface) and not vertical (perpendicular to the display surface) then this bracket doesn't easily mate up to the Optoma HD141x. I had to rotate the mount to be able to adjust as per the directions. No instructions were included for this situation. In one sense the above, other than the mounting screws being too short, is a major plus for this product to be able to accommodate such a wide variety of projectors and being able to be configurable enough to allow for a variety of inflexible room setups I just feel there should just be a little more documentation to show people what how to account for this. Telling someone that you should make "this change" when "this situation" applies would reduce any additional frustration. The ONLY reason this product gets a 4-star is for the screw situation and wishing for a few more options being detailed in the documentation. Other than that this is an excellent mount.I did not use the extension arm(s) but the documentation covered installation in both cases.
Works great. Wish it had a lower profile.
May 7, 2015
This mount works great for my BenQ HT1085ST. My only issue is that it holds the projector about 6 inches from the ceiling. This isn't an issue for most people as 6 inches is not that far. However, I have a 140 inch screen so I need the projector to be closer to the ceiling. I will not deduct a star for this as it's properly described. However, it does tend to creep a tiny bit and I've had to tighten the screws a few times. However, I would buy it again for an application that doesn't require a low profile.
Great mount for the price.
December 9, 2014
This a nice mount. I am using it with my Optoma HD141X which has 3 mounting holes. As seen in the product photo, there are 4 arms but removing one arm was quite easy. As other reviewers have noted, it is a universal mount so you have to figure out the best way to arrange the legs. For my particular projector, I had to reverse one of the arms so it could fit right. (Not being mechanically minded, I was very proud of myself that I figured that out and then I read that many other people have done that, too. Proud, yes - original, no.). In the end, it is obvious that the mount is not made for my projector. But, it works and when the lights go down, no one really notices. The instructions did show how to configure the base if you are only using 3 arms instead of 4. However, the base did not match up with what the instructions showed. It wasn't a big deal as I could swivel the arms around as I needed. But I thought I would mention it in case someone gets confused like I did. While all the screws and hardware are included, the screws to go into the projector itself were not long enough. So, I did have to make a trip down to the local hardware store to pick up the 3 screws that I needed to attach the arms to the projector itself. While not a terribly big deal, I did knock off 1 star.Once mounted into the ceiling, it is a solid installation. I am quite happy with it. It doesn't look as nice as it could if it were a mount made specifically for the projector itself, but for the price (very good!) and the solidness of the installation, I would buy it again.
IT WILL WORK ON A VIEWSONIC PROJECTOR
October 23, 2014
I ordered this for my Viewsonic projector on the hopes that it would work. I read a few negative reviews which stated the mount absolutely would not work for the Viewsonic projectors. The people who wrote those reviews must be the same kids in kindergarden who could not figure out how to stack blocks. I mean seriously, try thinking outside the box for half a second. I gave this mount four stars four two reasons;1. The instructions do not show anything for a three hole mount like the Viewsonic projectors use. It only shows the four hole mount option.2. The directions are rather vague regarding the hardware. A little unclear, again, with some thought, the correct parts are able to be identified. For anybody thinking about purchasing this mount for a Viewsonic, just remember you will have to completely disassemble the quad mount. Turn some of the mounts backwards, and remove one of the arms. The mount comes with two short mounts and four long mounts. It took me about fifteen minutes to figure out how to set up the mount. And that was with four screaming children in the house.Bottom line, this mount is secure and well worth the 25.00 dollars. It is fully adjustable and comes with all the hardware you need. It even comes with the allen (hex) wrenches. All you need is a drill and a screwdriver.

better spend bit more money to get getter product
June 3, 2017
the adjustments are weak.. no matter how tight you set he swivel head, it changes the projector position over time. better spend bit more money to get getter product. if you are on a budget, this is ok.
Flat Ceilings ONLY
September 1, 2015
Read the description carefully. This mount is ONLY for flat ceilings. The angular adjustments are at the projector end of the mount and do nothing to mitigate a less-than-level mounting surface.Sorry, for the late review, but the project has been slow and when I took this out to do the installation the other day, I was greatly disappointed.
QualGear QG-PM-002-WHT with the Benq W1070 projector
April 25, 2015
I am using the QualGear QG-PM-002-WHT with the Benq W1070 projector.Pros: It works "ok", hence the 3 stars. The height adjustment through the included extension arm is perfect, because I need to mount the Benq below and behind another projector.Cons: It lacks fine adjustment, meaning while you tighten a bolt, it makes the projector move a lot. Because of the tightening issue, if the cables attached to the projector moves, the project will experience some movement. It also lacks horizontal rotation with the way I had to mount it to my ceiling support - if they have use a circular base, instead of the rectangular design I would have added 1 star.Bottom line: I would return it I could easily do so, but will have to make do with it. I am just "ok" with it.
Will hold a projector
August 7, 2014
I did not have to use the extension, so I cannot say if that component is as bad as some of the reviews would suggest. I definitely feel as though my projector is secure. It is fairly straight forward to set it up. The only issue I had is that one of the screw holes that secures the fine adjustments was too large for the screw which was included (the screws come conveniently labeled in a plastic bag though, which is a nice touch). Solutions could range from exchanging it (not an option for me as I am impatient and wanted to enjoy my new entertainment setup pronto) to getting a slightly larger screw or a tap and die set and making the hole as big as you want.I would imagine, however, that mine just had a slight defect. Apart from that hiccup it has done everything I have needed it to do (even though I only have needed it to hold my projector in place in a stable fashion).I would recommend this as it is less expensive than most other options and at the end of the day it may take you 10 more minutes to hang, but your projector will be mounted.
Heavy projector secure with this mount
June 22, 2014
This is definitely heavy duty. It was easy to assemble, the instructions tell you which bolts and nuts go where. Running two of the bolts into a ceiling joist and two into the provided heavy-duty anchors give the assurance that the whole assembly isn't going to fall on your head during an earthquake. Its adjustments allow fine pointing and azimuth adjustments to align your projector with your screen. I was able to put the projector about dead center with my screen. I am at the end of the length adjustment so be sure it's long enough. A nice touch is length limits won;t allow the bar to slip out during the adjustment process. It would have been nice for fine tuning to somehow make those movements smoother. It takes some doing to get all the angles just perfect as the movement sticks a little then jumps too far, back and forth and back and forth. There may have been a better way for me to approach this part of the process, any little bump puts the image a little off. Even fine-tuning has the hazard of moving the image off center. Once it's perfect - HANDS OFF - or it'll be pointing and inch or two off.It does what it's supposed to and didn't cost a fortune. It's useful to have some assistance to put that heavy projector up in the air. I recommend it for anyone to use.
Pivot Issue
April 11, 2014
Finally got to install this last night. I have a very high ceiling and doing it alone is no fun, yet I was able to accomplish the install.First issue really was the mounting hardware that came with the package. It was only for CONCRETE install and not for Dry Wall. That means I had to remove the concrete anchors and replace it with a TOGGLER.The second issue which is more important is the capability to swivel up/down (please look at the manual's illustration as to which was the lens is facing in relation to the mounting bracket) and side left/side right. It can swivel wide in one direction and very minimal in another. The manual does not indicate how to install the mounting bracket must be installed in a certain direction meaning I had installed it on the swivel side and not the front up/down side. That resulted in a very limited angle to play with. Good thing my screen was fully adjustable.

Ceiling slopes the wrong way?!
September 8, 2017
If your vaulted ceiling happens to slope in the wrong direction, you cannot aim the projector... it points the wrong way and you cannot change it because it's not a square tube, it's rectangle. other than that it seems fairly well built.
How to MacGyver this ceiling mount kit to your new Optoma HD141x projector
November 24, 2015
Beware if you are purchasing this bundled with Optoma HD141x (Amazon suggests this is most often purchased together). This mounting bracket "can" be made to work, but be prepared for a less than optimal install. First, the product itself is OK. Instructions are spartan and nearly impossible to interpret - as is much of the obscurely-labeled gear that comes out of China. To make this work with the HD141x projector:1. Flip projector over to bottom, and align projector mounting bracket with the "extra hole" in bracket holding legs aligned to front of projector2. Loosen all adjustment screws with supplied allen wrench and slide mounting legs inward to fit over projector's two rear mounting holes3. You'll need to find longer 4mm screws to mount to projector - those supplied will not engage threads passing through washer and bracket. I found some at local Menards hardware store - 4mm x 3/4" approx4. Remove one of the front mounting feet (note this projector has only 3 mounting holes - not 4 like this bracket is configured) - Looking down with projector lens facing away from you, remove the leg to the right.5. Because this bracket is too large to fit over the Optoma HD141x 3rd mounting screw thread, you'll need to remove the projectors front rubber height adjustment screw (near front edge), and use that to secure the third leg of mounting bracket. Use a washer or two to ensure it holds snugly.Once you are done it should hold your projector security. The only negative is that it will be slightly off of the projector's center of gravity, so will need to be carefully adjusted and secured once hanging in place.
Gets the job done, kinda.
August 8, 2014
Well, this was suggested by someone else that had the Optoma 131Xe. I had read that all these "universal style" mounts had to be modified or augmented a little to get it to work with the 131Xe. It took me 20 minutes to figure out how to align the three holes. I would like to think that I am fairly intelligent but this thing had me scratching my head for a bit. I ended up taking out the adjustment arms and flipping them around and cutting one of the arms a little so I could center it up a little better. I don't really like how the arms are tightened on the projector but that's only partially because of this mount. I did like the hook where you could get the mounting done on the ceiling first and then take your time on the floor with the other part. The adjustment was a pain in the butt. It's one of those deals where you just try to get it as close as you can, tighten it all up and then nudge it till it's right. Not sure if this is gonna stay where I adjusted it because the weight of the projector is not fully centered. It can adjust many different ways which is neat but it feels like it is barely getting the job done. The adjustment seems a little sloppy but as long as it stays, I'll be happy.
It get's the job done, but...
January 28, 2014
I purchased the ViewSonic PJD7820HD projector on Amazon. This was recommended for bundling with this particular projector, so I decided I'll go ahead and take it. Afterall, the price was about 2/3rds that of the one ViewSonic makes specifically for its projector, plus I wasn't going to have to pay for shipping. Given the low cost, I assumed the risk of how well this universal mount would work on the projector I bought. It turns out, the ViewSonic projector uses only 3 mounting holes (you'll notice this mount is utilized for 4 holes, but it's not a problem to remove one of the arms), and they are spaced relatively close to each other. So close, in fact, that this "universal" mount could not be adjusted down far enough. It took plenty of attempts (and way too much time) to adjust for this weird positioning, and finally it was determined that I needed to take out one of the arms and put it in backwards. This looks ugly and overall tacky, but in the end I figure it won't be too noticeable. Also, I went with a flush mount after not feeling comfortable with the extension pole. It seemed that the pole was holding on to the projector using only tension as opposed to having a guard to protect against the tension loosening and the projector sliding right out and crashing onto the floor. Perhaps the tension is good enough, but I didn't want to risk it. It turns out, I liked the flush mount anyways, so in the end, I have no complaints. So overall, the question becomes how much is your time and effort worth? In hindsight, I would have ponied up the extra $20 and gone with the one designed specifically for my projector. It would have looked nicer, and would have been much easier to install. I am rating this overall as a 3 out of 5, but if I were to break up the ratings into categories, I would rate as follows:Overall: 3Price: 5Quality: 3.5Ease of installation: 2
It works, but not great for Optoma HD25

I purchased this to go with my Optoma HD25. It was a pain in the arse to get this to work. The instructions are very limited in helping on this type of setup. I ended up getting creative on how to connect it to the optoma. Here's why...Effectively I set it up for three arms as the instructions say to do, but when you do this for the Optoma, you will find that the extension arms are FAR to long to connect all three mounting screws to the projector. What I did (this does secure unit 100% so that it doesn't move at all), but took my dumb arse 20 minutes to figure out, is simply take the s shaped connecting part out of the ends of the extension and face them into the middle of the bracket. Yes this is counter intuitive, but works. So again, for an optoma hd25 take out the fourth leg, and convert into three. then flip the mounting s legs around so the bottom of the s points into the middle of the bracket and then screw into the unit. You will need a small screwdriver as you are now going in between the little gap on the extension bar, but can be done. This however isn't the reason I gave it 3 stars and not 4 or 5.This bracket only receives 3 stars, because the adjustment aspect of this thing is super touchy. Even tightening a nut, bolt, or screw will cause this thing to go out of line. In other words to make my final adjustments correct once a screw was tightened correctly, I had to first over-adjust image on the screen, then tighten down the adjustment screws. Meaning I was guessing at first how far to the left i would have to shot the image so that once I tighten the left/right nut, it wouldn't bring the image back to the right to far.The other issue was I wish the length of the unit could be shorter then the nine or eleven inches it has to be, i.e. not either be three inches form the ceiling or eleven inches. I like being able to go from any length from 11 - 22, but what about 3-11?On the whole thought, if you can deal with the little issues of this thing, and your cheap like me, its worth a purchase, just know what your getting. It is solid, no doubt about that part, but has a few downsides since its a universal.
Nice, but poor instructions
June 4, 2013
I'm one of those guys who like to get all the nuts and bolts and washers in the correct place. If you follow the instructions step-by-step you won't get that result because they leave things out that are on the back side of the image. It's fairly obvious they belong, but not always as clear because the diagram and numbers are written so small. My projector has three holes. This mount was able to adjust, though it wouldn't really appear to be that it's necessarily designed to. It came out a little funky looking and off-center. It works though, it looks fine and it feels sturdy. Adjustments aren't too difficult. For the price, compared with others I've seen, I'm not disappointed in the end-result. Besides the instructions, the washers can be incredibly difficult to place, assuming you want them in the correct location. You might want to use tweezers to hold the nylon washers in place during assembly. You will know what I mean when you get there. I'm rating this only three stars due to that difficulty, the poor instructions and the fact that even though it works, it doesn't go together nearly as well with three holes as it would with four.

Works but at the same time it doesnt. I have an Epson 3020 and it mounts. That's where it ends. When adjusting the projector on the swivel bar, it gives you two hex nuts and a set of washers to secure it. The Epson 3020 is big, and heavy, and it cannot be leveled using this set up. They should give you a nut on the inside of the swivel mount or an all together different configuration. To be honest I had to take what I had(a small ratchet strap) to level this thing out. I would return it, if it wasn't a pain in the ass to take off the ceiling and disassemble, and drive 30 min, each way to ups. Works but at the same time it doesn't.

Its ok, i have an Optoma HD25, doesnt fit properly but with continued adjustment and fiddling with I made it fit. Horizontal movement is very shallow only 15 degrees, wasnt enough for my installation had to modify to make it work.... Also had bits missing from installation kit, this was a re boxed item and wasnt complete on arrival... you get what you pay for !

Using this for a Say no PL80. It is a the top of its weight scale. Made sure the unit was balanced on the projector support. The vertical adjustment screws stripped. Both of them. The female threads have no more meat than the 16 awg steel can give them. So, if you have a newer projector that is light-weight, this may work for you. If you have an older heavy-weight projector, this is not the best solution. I'm currently debating returning the mount or simply drilling out the stripped threads and running bolts and nuts through them but am concerned about the other screws now.
Not exactly sturdy and mounting limitations
March 17, 2015
I have a couple problems with this mount:1) the extension tube has NO backup security mechanism-- meaning that if the single Allen bolt comes loose, it's entirely possible that your heavy projector will go crashing to the floor.2) the base plate cannot be mounted perpendicular to the projector. This is really more my fault than the mount, but I assumed a universal mount would be able to be mounted to a floor joist above a drop ceiling and pivot 90 degrees to allow the pj to be parallel to the ceiling. My bad.
Wish I could give it higher ...

Contrary to pictures, and the information in the manual, this will NOT mount without the extension bar.At least not the one I received. After installing it thinking that I needed the extension bar, turned out that I could have installed without it.So I checked the mount, looked like it should work without the extension. Checked the manual, yup ... says it'll work.Took it all apart, to find that yes ... it goes together properly ... but NO ... the bolt holes are not correct to be able to use it this way.So for those looking, this is for EXTENSION USE ONLY!
Couldn't balance it correctly
February 13, 2014
When opening the box, it seemed like there were enough configurations that installing the projector to this would be a snap. It actually wasn't. Installing to the ceiling was easy enough, but trying to balance the mount with a center point on the projector and trying to use the small and big adapters proved to be very difficult. At the end, we ended up using 3 long parts, 1 short part, and have a unbalance install. Even after tightening up the screws, every few weeks we have to adjust the alignment of the projector.

Do not buy for Optoma HD142X
July 16, 2017
I used this mount with an Optoma HD142X. I was able to use all four legs and it appeared it was going to work for me but once I had it attached to the ceiling I couldn't get it adjusted anywhere close to level. I had to improvise with other materials. I still use this mount to bear the weight of the projector, but fine tuning required a trip to the hardware store and some improvising. I'm not saying this mount is bad as it might work well for other models or manufacturers.
Weak mounting surface and weak tightening hardward
May 3, 2017
I have a projector that was only 3.5 lbs and even with all the bolts tightened it wouldn't hold the projector in the position that I tried to set. It also only has 2 mounting holes which if a stud isn't where you would like to mount the holder then you are stuck trying to mount it in the drywall which isn't strong enough to stabilize the projector in a position of your choosing.
Works, but loosens over time. Could be tighter
September 6, 2015
This is a decent projector mount with lots of adjustments that can be made. It can swing forward and swivel to the side as well as adjust flush to the ceiling. The main issue I had is that even when everything is fully tightened, it still has some wiggle room. Aligning a projector takes a lot of time and patients in the first place and every few weeks I find it off of the screen and I need to adjust it. When people are walking around in the room above it, it bounces slightly and can move off of the screen by about an inch to either side. This may not bother some people but when you spend an hour or so aligning it perfectly to a screen and then it doesn't stay that way, it is pretty frustrating
Do not recommend for a Optoma HD141X.
August 26, 2015
Do not recommend for a Optoma HD141X. The supplied screws that fit the threads of the projector were too short. I should have just stopped and returned the item, but I didn't want to wait till a turn around. I went to the Ace and spent another $3 on the correct hardware. Then I noticed that the adjustable arms are too long. I spent about two hours last night and I still don't have anything mounted. I'm going to attempt to turn the tabs around, but I might end up having to cut the arms down too.Aside from it not being a good fit for my projector, the whole thing feels awkward and clumsy and the supplied hardware feels cheap. If I could do a do-over, I'd choose another product. I'll probably just end up making this one work one way or another because I don't want to wait to mount my projector.
Not very stable or steady...
February 10, 2015
We installed a projector 30' up in the air in our church using this bracket. In order to obtain this height, we rented a lift which needless to say was pretty expensive, but was a must for safety reasons.Spent about 45m attaching the projector to the bracket, as it's not a very straight forward process. Once attached we proceeded up to the beam where it was going to be attached; we spent another hour and a half trying to get the bracket to stay pointing in one direction. With the arm fully extended, the bracket seemed to want to lean toward one side, and not shoot straight forward. This was very frustrating... Finally, after messing with it for that long, we got it in the desired position. The next day, after returning the lift, we noticed the bracket had shifted to the right a bit. We did our best to compensate for this shift using the setting found in our high-end projector, but still it's not quite right on. Looking back, I've come to the conclusion that it's the cheap hardware used to control the bracket/arm of this mount; using sub-par screws and mounting hardware, it's just not able to hold the projector in a set position. It's been about two months now since having mounted our very lightweight projector and we're noticing that the projector is now starting to shift even more off the center point... I guess we're gonna have to rent the lift again and purchase a better mount.I wouldn't recommend using this mount for high-positioned projectors, unless you own a ladder or a lift that you can often use to re-align your projector. Lower ceiling applications might not be all that bad...Good luck.
I used my fingers to tighten the best I could
January 1, 2015
This was my first ceiling mount of a projector. I mounted an Epson Brightlink Projector. The instructions would say "Make sure you have placed ________ right. There was no clear picture to show what 'right' meant! I had to disassemble and reassemble many times to get it 'right'. I used the extension for my 9 foot basement ceiling installation. The instructions tell you to assemble the plate to the part that connects the plate to the assembly that holds the projector--as viewed in the picture on Amazon (assemble without the bar). It is not clear that if you are using the extension bar, you must not assemble the plate to the extension, you must wait until later on during the assembly process. All fasteners were available, but they did not come pre-sorted. They all came in one package. I had to take an egg carton and sort the items by size, shape and the materials they were made of, and verify the counts against the instructions. The instructions did not indicate that you would not be using all packed items; and sometimes it was a guessing game as to whether or not I had the right fastener because they were the same color, shape and sometime size--some washers were made of plastic, while others were made of metal. The screws holding the projector holder on to the cube-like connector body, were so loose, they were almost out of their holes. There is not a tool small enough to reach inside the tight space to tighten the screws so the projector could have fallen off of the bracket. I used my fingers to tighten the best I could. On the diagram, you'd see something like c/d/a. I figured out that it means: use fastener c or d or a; depending on which screw/fastener would fit the hole. Even after drilling ample pilot holes, the wood screws' phillips heads stripped, so I had to hand-ratchet them into place. There were three holes on the ceiling mounting plate, and the instructions only indicated to drill the pilot holes for the round holes. Instructions said nothing about using the keyhole. I'm still wondering if I was supposed to use the keyhole for something. Now that I've done the install, the item is doing its job. Now that I have experience with this item, I might entertain the thought of purchasing another if I needed it, because of the prior experience and. If I had known better, I would have purchased one that was pre-assembled as much as possible--even if it were twice the cost. It took me three or four hours to disassemble/reassemble, and figure the whole process out. You need to ask yourself if it's worth the time and aggrivation.

Bolts stripped, holes didn't line up. To install and mount was a pain. If you need adjustments other than straight ahead I don't recommend.
Disappointed
November 19, 2016
So I consider myself to be relatively handy and this isn't my first time mounting a projector. That said, I'm not very happy with this thing. If I didn't have 4 holes in my ceiling I'd replace it with another unit. I'm not sure why the other reviews are so positive.I used this for an Epson 3500 (relatively large, I think it's about 15lbs). Once it was up, the whole thing is just ... flimsy. Despite going over every one of the (too many) screws and bolts and tightening as much as possible, the projector shakes and wobbles if you touch it for any reason. My next step is to put some sort of shim in between the inner and outter posts, which you shouldn't have to do, but I think it will help.On the plus side, it does look decent and the thing hasn't fallen onto the floor. Yet.
Should have higher quality washers to hold the mount
August 6, 2016
The plate screw and washer that holds the external and internal casing is not high quality and weight resistant, the washer lost the threads for one try and because of that the entire mount will not hold , not great design and quality ,and my entire struggle time and effort to mount is invain as the washer piece is crap
Weak, shaky and crooked
October 21, 2015
Bad experience with this product. Not suitable for Epson 3000 projector though amazon recommends it. First of all, the instructions are not clear. The four long legs does not fit as instructed. I had to remove one of the main screws completely and push the long leg deeper and then screw it. Took me a few hours to figure out. This product is weak and shaky after you hang the projector. Even when all the screws/nuts are tight, my projector still moves horizontally. One of the screw just keeps rotating, does not tighten. Also, the telescopic mount is not straight after installation.I wish amazon refunds my money back.

its strudy but is not universal, did not fit my Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 3020 2D and 3D 1080p Home Theater Projector. had to rig it to fit all four arms. the arms were too short. the site said it will fit epson projectors so bought it, but does not.
Was good. Now terrible build quality has me searching for something else.
January 30, 2013
I have drop ceilings in my home and needed a long necked mount to attach to the ceiling above the tiles. And while this is not a perfect solution for the Acer H5360 (more the Acer's fault then the mounts) it works perfect for my needs.UPDATE: As previously reported by others, the build quality on this thing is terrible. Having adjusted the pivot perhaps three times in the five years I've had it, the holes are now stripped. The mount will no longer my projector in place. Total disaster.

Waste of valuable time!

Spent hours trying to interpret the directions, sorting unlabeled screws, piecing this garbage together. Eventually I got my projector mounted and it wobbled to the left with no manner of adjustment. What a disaster. I experienced everything detailed in every negative review. Do not buy this thing. I returned it and bought another brand. It was completely installed in fifteen minutes and I'm very happy with it.
And the "aiming" is terrible. The projector is inevitably off-balanced
February 29, 2016
The two most important aspects of a projector mount are (1) ease of use and (2) ability to center the picture on the screen, including left/right and up/down. This mount is dreadful on both of those. In order to get the projector on the mount, or take it down, you have to use tools (allen wrench or screwdriver) while obviously working over your head. And the "aiming" is terrible. The projector is inevitably off-balanced, and you have to balance it with one hand while using an allen wrench with the other ON FOUR SEPARATE SCREWS. Compound that with the fact that you have to over compensate for the float in one direction and then, after you let go of the projector, see how much it slides, and I know exactly what rating I give this projector: I give it the FINGER.
Bad quality control? Physically impossible to assemble.
January 26, 2015
Not sure how this currently has 3.5 stars, maybe quality control and I got a bad unit? I say that because there are holes in the hardware that should be threaded which are not. And so my unit is physically impossible to assemble. I took my power drill to it to try to jam one of the screws in and ended up just shaving off the threading. In addition, the mounting screws that would actually allow me to screw my projector to the mount are not long enough to grab the threads inside the projector. So even if I could jerry-rig the unthreaded holes, I'd still have to order longer mounting screws. Don't waste your time, pay a little more for something else. For anyone nitpicky or checking out there own unit that did assemble- I am adept at assembly, but maybe I've made a mistake and someone will call me out. My ceiling plate (A) and pivot bracket (C) will not assemble together as shown in the instructions 1a "Flush mount installation without extension column. Using the extension column will not fix this as it is the pivot bracket that is lacking the threaded holes, so in either assembly I am SOL. The pivot bracket holes for the M-B screws are not threaded. The screws will not catch, will not fit, and altogether will not assemble. Please give me a response to confirm if your holes in that position are threaded, or if I am missing something from the directions, in which case I will certainly amend my review.
Defective. No contact number to call company.
October 19, 2014
Worst projector mount I have ever saw. I could not build this projector mount because two of the holes for the M-K screws to screw into the ceiling bracket were too small and there weren't even any threads. I thought I misread the broken English instructions with very little illustrations. I even had my wife look at it. She is a good problem solver. But after wasting my time for an hour it was no good. There was no way to make it work without making the holes a little bigger and creating threads for the M-K screws. So I get my drill gun out and make the whole bigger and force the M-K screws in which created a thread. However it was very flimsy and I wasn't about to hang my expensive projector from a poor designed and defective projector. I was even willing to call the company to see if they could help me but surprise surprise no tech phone number or any phone number of any kind is found anywhere for this product. It is probably made in China and sold through several different suppliers. What a waste of time. I am very disappointed and wonder why this product received such high reviews. I can only imagine that I got a defective product. I will return the defective one and try it on more time.
Very difficult to adjust!
May 24, 2014
I installed this for a PJD5533W. The projector has 3 mounting holes, which this mount it supposed to accommodate. The plate that attaches to the projector has 4 legs and should have a 5th hole so you can move one of the legs to a triangle position for 3 mounting holes. This did not have the 5th hole. I could have drilled it, but I didn't want to ruin anything in case I returned it.Next, all the adjustment screws and the pivots and such? Imagine if you can only adjust them while the project is mounted to it. Hard to get to. Also, the moment you start tightening any screws, you are inadvertently adjusting the projector again. There's another plate that allows for more adjustment but you have about 1" of clearance in order to get a phillips head screwdriver up in there. Yeah, not going to happen.Things definitely would have been easier if I had used the extension bar, which I didn't need, but not by enough of a margin that I would give a star back. This is probably one of the worst mounts I could have bought. Feels like it was cheaply made and had burrs and spikes of metal shavings on it that were quite unpleasant to handle.I won't be returning it because I do not want to pull this mount down again and I do not want to hassle with another mount. If I move and I have to take this down, I will not be putting it up elsewhere. I will buy a new one and sell this locally for cheap since obviously there are others who have enjoyed it.
Hunk of garbage
March 31, 2014
Beware, Amazon recomends this as an add on for a lot of projectors, including the one I bought, ViewSonic PJD7820HD, but it doesn not fit. Check your specs for mounting on your projector before you purchase this. On top of that, many of the holes drilled did not fit the included hardware. So, the instructions, while clear and well written, were not effective. I will be returning for a full refund. I spent many hours forcing this thing to work the way it was supposed to in the first place.
