I bought a Micca MB42-C center channel speaker. The speaker wire that came with the original speaker was a not very good and maybe 20 or 24 gauge. So I paired the new speakers with AmazonBasics 16-Gauge Speaker Wire. I’ve been very pleased with the rich, sonorous sound and detail.The wire was easy to separate, appears to have good shielding and introduces no noise. Recommended. But I think anyone will like these cablesDecember 4, 2015 I am not an audiophile, repeat.. not an audiophile. But I think anyone will like these cables. These are high strand copper covered aluminum cables which i use for connecting 2 of my speakers for 7.1 home theater system. All other speakers are connected via Mediabridge ULTRA cable with soldered banana plugs. The reason I use this is that my Primus 363 speakers do not accept banana plugs and those are connected via this cable. Its only about 6 feet long cable for each speaker. Response is great, sound is awesome and I cannot tell the difference between this cable and the much more expensive Mediabridge Ultra cable. |

| | Works!July 23, 2017 Basic wire for home audio. You only need 16 gauge for applications under 50? Feet. Works fine at 25 ft for me and I also have 12 gauge cables. I don't notice a difference in sound quality. There may be some difference, but to my ears, there aren't, and that's all that matters. Comes in a box and small spool. Easy to cut. Wish the wires were more differentiated. I needed to rewire two of my speakers. I did so with this wire. I lost a couple of stands when striping the ends but I am not bothered by that. Tin the ends on this speaker wireSeptember 8, 2016 This is copper clad aluminum wire that should be labeled 17.2 gauge. Doesn't "feel" like 16-gauge. I was able to "tin" the ends with my solder pot (see picture). This strengthened up the ends...and less damage/fraying on speaker and amplifier binding posts. This is "bargain" speaker wire for applications that need decent speaker wire under 50 feet. It does the job, but tinning the ends will help out tremendously. Might be a better idea to spend a few bucks more and get OCA (real copper) wire and tin the ends with quality solder. The actual copper clad aluminum wire inside the plastic sheath is sort of cheap and will easily rip or tear offMay 11, 2016 Not the highest quality speaker wire, but it will definitely get the job done. For the price, it's well worth it. |

I have specialized speakers that go with my low-power amp. It took me a while to realize this wire is not copper. The performance of my stereo was horrible. This product also makes it very difficult to wire the speakers. It is very hard to determine positive from negative. There is a small white strip inside the wire casing that is supposed to help, but it does not, because it is so small and hard to see. I think it's best to avoid this product and pay some additional money for decent quality. why does this have good reviews?June 20, 2016 Don't get fooled, this isn't 100% copper Not solid copper wire!January 4, 2016 I'm disappointed that no where on the webpage does it say this is copper coated aluminum wire.
