My front yard is filled with broad leaf weeds and these small clover-like weeds that get covered with seeds and spread like, um, weeds. Anyway, this tool was very effective at digging out the weeds without disturbing too much of the soil. I really like this because right now it is very hot and dry and it is difficult to weed with a spade. This tool breaks the hard, dry ground easily and gets the root out. Tools like these need to be sturdy otherwise they will bend and break where the handle meets the top of the digging part of the tool. The handles are a little small and are made of a plastic that provides no grip. Not only were the handles slippery but they are a little uncomfortable for me to hold. My wife (with smaller hands) said they are not bad for her. They do however seem sturdy and with good care should last a long time. The reason for the 4 stars is the price. I have purchased many garden tools and finding these for tools of a higher quality will cost a good bit more. Bottom line if you are looking for tools to use in a small garden and don't expect to be using them for several hours they should be just fine. If you will be using them for a good amount of time or just want something that has a soft/comfortable grip, spend more money and get a better set. Also the two trowels have bent when using it; though the pruning shears are going strong. Cheap way to get all the tools and replace as you go. We would have liked more pockets inside the bag, and think that the tools may not hold up to much use, but we will give it a go while we can! |

The pouches are not deep enough to hold the tools safely. They stick out way too far an just fall out way to easily. I bought this for my mom for Mother's Day an it looked cute but way too dangerous. She had all the tools flat down inside the bag an when I tried to show her the purpose of the pouches I got why she put the tools into the bag .
