Side by Side Comparison of: Maybeline New York

This is my favorite mascara and I've tried many types. I used to use Clinique but I decided to branch out because of the outrageous price. This is affordable and works just as good if not better. I have tried so many trying to find one I liked and this one is my favorite.

I love this product! It's not clumpy and it applies very easily. And the best part is this is only five dollars! I highly recommend this product!

It's my every day, go-to mascara! I've gone through at least 20 different brands/types of mascara in my life and this one is one of my favorites!Pros:- Price (duh!)- Looks great and extends length and volume of eyelashes like no other! (Without going over-the-top. i.e good for any occasion)- I haven't had any issues with skin irritation or difficulty in removing this mascaraCons:- None that I've experienced.

I LOVE this mascara, I've used it for years and still have not grown tired of it. I have naturally long eyelashes but they are very blonde. The glam black does a perfect job of darkening my lashes and I hardly worry about clumps. The brush is thick which allows for less coats and clumps. Such a great macara!

I'm half afraid to write this review because if I like something & say so the price gets jacked up and then it's not a good deal anymore . That being said, I have to be honest. I've gone through a ton of mascaras lately and this is the first one that I can honestly saw is good. I mean really good. I love it.

I really enjoy using Maybelline products, and with the minimal amount of lashes I have-- mascara is vital! For a while I was using Maybelline Falsies, but decided to try Colossal. Overall, I would say I'm happy with the results. I've posted some photos for you to see for yourself.

I love this mascara because it builds relatively easily. However, because it's so amazing at building, it is also prone to clumping. I use a different wand to separate my lashes once I get the build that I prefer with this mascara! With patience, you can separate your lashes with this wand, but it can be a frustrating experience if you're a busy mother, or just easily frustrated in general.

This is a nice product and is priced very competitively. I wanted mascara that comes off cleanly with soap and water. This does. Id give it 4-1/2 stars.

I've tried about every mascara ever made, seriously. This one is pretty good, doesn't blow me away, but works well. It applies really easily and I like the brush, because it does help create volume. I wear this to the gym and it doesn't smear or smudge and it's also not impossible to remove like some mascaras which in turn ruins your lashes. Overall, I'd give this a 7 out of 10-easy to apply, creates a decent amount of length and volume, and doesn't smudge.

I like this, only problem is that it's little thick on the brush and it's a little messy to get it off the brush by dragging the brush over the opening. I tried wiping the brush on a paper towel.....that was messy. Here's how I use it, after I apply it and I then go back and stroke upwards on the lashes to get my lashes to turn up (that way I don't need to curl them, as this dries quickly and my lashes dry turned up). Sometimes I have to use a simple lash brush (that I bought in packets of 50) if I can't get enough of the mascara off the lash brush. The product dries quickly and on me, with how I apply it, it is not clumpy. Also it does not flake of during the day.

I have very long, light brown eyelashes and love them BUT I want them to be full, too! This Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express mascara is PERFECT for achieving the volume I want. I usually use between 2-3 layers and my lashes look amazing! The black color is intense and is very dark. It's extremely easy to apply and it's easy to avoid clumps by wiping the extra product from the brush before applying it (like most mascaras). It dries quickly, stays put and it doesn't flake off or smudge (when dry). I have sensitive eyes that water sometimes and it hasn't caused me any irritations at all. This is my new go-to mascara - I no longer feel the need to use the waterproof that I clung to for years. I'm a big fan of Maybelline products and now I have another to add to my makeup collection! Maybelline, please don't discontinue this mascara!

I have very straight lashes and curl them, but only waterproof mascara tends to hold my curl. They were out of stock of the waterproof version of this mascara, so I decided to try the non-waterproof.This mascara has a natural-bristle brush that is quite large, about the length of my eye and pretty wide, but definitely not hard to use or control.I usually apply one or two coats, depending on how I feel that day, curling between coats and after everything has dried.(NO, I don't find that it damages my lashes.) I didn't find it clumping at all and separated as well as volumizes my lashes quite a bit. I find it's easy to create both a natural and more dramatic lash look with this, which is great. A+ for versatility :)However, this mascara tends to flake just a bit when you wear it for an extended period of time.Overall,PROS:-Pretty good lasting power-Very affordable-Great finish-Doesn't clump at allCONS:-Flakes when worn too long-Doesn't hold curl for more than a few hours (the waterproof version was amazing for me, though)

I would have preferred a smaller brush - this one is so large that I have trouble using it on lower lashes.

I don't find that this increases volume much, but will do as a cheap mascara backup.

This is a different brand than what I usually buy, but I thought I would try it since it was a subscribe and save item for a good price. It worked fine for the first couple of uses, but then started getting clumpy, so I will not be ordering it again.

This is a decent mascara for the price but I was a little dissapointed that after first application you do still seem to get some below your eyes the first few times you blink after you apply it. It lasts most of the day and doesn't clump very much but I wouldn't say this is a very high quality mascara. I'll probably look for a different brand the next time I need mascara.

It is Ok. It is easy to apply. But take a litte more time to dry. It is very dark in black color. Definately can see the result of volumned longer lash. But it is not water proof as described. Not even safe for slightly watery eyes.

I think the mascara is okay, couldn't really tell because it is so dried out. It also has a real perfumey odor to it. Don't know if the odor is normal or if it that way because the product is old and dried out. I'd be careful purchasing this type of product online, I don't think I will purchase this type of item in the future, one never knows how long this has been sitting in a warehouse or on a shelf. The product might be a really great mascara if it were fresh.

So many clumps on the wand. It's tough to get a clean application. I find I have to degoop the wand a ton and it makes quite a mess.

I found this to be clumpy and I also do not like the application brush.

Basically the opposite of the name, unless they were trying to be ironic -- it leaves lots of clumps. And you can't blame it on it being old or dried out because I just opened it.

Not happy with this product at all. Clumpy and did not live up to its claims. I am switching back to Butterfly, which I have used for a few years now. Much better and gives me the length and thickness I love. So much for trying something new!

I bought a 2 pack, first tube was great no problems. I've used this brand before (bought it at Wal-Mart) and never had problems- loved it!. I opened the 2nd tube and it was just a watery mascara mess. I would dip the wand in and as it comes out it's completely full of this black liquid mess. Couldn't make out the brush part of the wand just because it was so liquidy, no way I'm applying that to my eyelashes! Horrible. Not sure what went wrong in that tube. Almost like someone had added water to the mascara to make it seem like it's full. I'll stick to Wal-Mart for now on :)

I ordered brown mascara, and I received black instead.

Rimmed scandel eyes is a million times better than this! I've tried every kind of mascara from drug store brands to Macy's, I have very skimpy lashes so I'm always looking to try new mascara, this was disappointing.

I bought Glam Brown, and the product smells awful!

Mascara seemed old...have purchased this from local stores and worked great but barely did anything when I purchased from here.you get what you pay for....threw it in the trash

The brush is way too big and causes lots of clumping. By mid-day it also gets little pieces on my face and in my eyes. Awful quality product.

This is the product you should buy if you want huge clumps! It's horrible. I usually use covergirl volume and feel it's a great product. But decided to try this as I could add it to my subscribe and save order. Absolutely horrible. It's been deleted from my order and I'm going back to my covergirl products.

Super disappointed in this product. It has an unpleasant strong odor, both in the bottle and once its on my eyelashes, like a chemical perfume. I had to wash my face immediately. It also is very clumpy. Seems like it's expired. Not a quality product.
