Awesome for exercise and they thwart hangovers
September 14, 2017
These things are incredible! I agree with the others that say they are better than the Salt Stick brand. Those are also quite good, but Rehydr8 is better. I have used both extensively and for three purposes. First, they are great for rehydration during and after exercise. I am an avid hiker and will take these with me on hikes. I'll have a few before the hike, a few here and there as a I go, and then two or three afterwards (following the instructions). They make a HUGE different in terms of thwarting cramps. Similarly, I do a lot of travel to Yucatan where it is hotter than the hinges of hell. I sweat all day even if I am not doing anything strenuous. I have woken up in the morning with awful cramps. Not any more thanks to these rehydration pills. Lastly, they do absolutely AMAZING things to thwart a hangover. I am not a big drinker at all, but once or twice a year I find myself at a great party and like to throw back enough that a hangover would be in my future. But, for a few years now I'll treat the party as a hike - a few Rehydr8s before, have some with water between beers, and then take a few before bed with more water and a good multivitamin and VOILA! No hangover, even for someone who isn't used to it and doesn't drink much.
for other types of exercise rather than running long distances

It's a good product. It does what it's supposed to. It's a good product because it's the best for its price and quantity I found. It comes with plenty of pills. I assure you that you won't get cramps.Just know though, that If you're a serious runner; I do not recommend these. They don't offer an immediate reaction. The gel capsule has to be dissolved first by your stomach acid. That takes some time. Runners need immediate electrolytes. In that case, it is best a liquid form of electrolyte.I got these for running, they do a a good job, but not an excellent one for me. You need to take them thirty minutes ahead of time, so you'll always need to remind yourself. With such a dose you will get about five miles. After that I experienced the need of more electrolytes; and I was not going to pause to swallow more capsules. It would be interrupting. Firstly having to pause your exercise, secondly having to open the bottle, and thirdly having to swallow one or two pills. Uncomfortable. Then, the capsule would take effect until half an hour later, therefore you couldn't keep on running. With that being said, maybe it's not exellwnt for long distance runners.Tips.It's best to take on empty stomach with a sip of water (Not so much if planning to run afterwards). Digestion of capsule is faster. Then the white powder will be in your system faster. It will take take somewhat longer if you combine the capsules with food.In my opinion these are of good quality, and at a good price. I recommend these for other types of exercise rather than running long distances.
Less pain, more run.

I am a big guy who maintains weight by running 25+ miles a week. Many times I have been nearly crippled by intense cramping. Rehydr8 has helped me to not experience that anymore. A friend introduced me to the product and I am very thankful. I have tried many other solutions with limited success, this has fixed my issue. Looking forward to my next ultra with it.Steven
I bought for training but it works for Hangovers!
May 1, 2017
I have owned a bottle of these for about 2 months. After running a marathon and cramping up at mile 10 it was suggested that I take some sort of salt tablets. I looked and researched the reviews here on Amazon and got these. Needless to say 2 months in I am very satisfied. I pop 1-2 tablets before and during my runs and I do not find myself cramping. Perhaps it is all mind games but for me it has worked.During the same 2 month duration I have also taken these pills pre and post party. Lets face it I like to drink sometimes. I will have a few beers during sports seasons and a glass of wine. I drink hard liquors on occasion. And an afterproduct of drinking is the hangover. I find that taking 1-2 pills before I drink and 1-2 pills after with some water and the next morning I feel a lot better. I would wake up with headaches and nausea but these pills help prevent that sort of thing (at least for me).Ill be buying these same exact pills again for the reasons I specified above.
Better deal + formulation vs. Saltstick caps!
April 26, 2016
Was very happy to find a somewhat more economical alternative to Saltstick caps, which literally seem to be price-fixed (they are NEVER on sale anywhere) at $0.22 per cap, which really adds up when taking 6-10 per day for POTS (orthostatic intolerance). The only other alternatives are 1 gram unbuffered salt pills which are very hard for a kid to swallow and also hard on the stomach or Thermotabs, which are half cornstarch and so just as large / hard to swallow as the 1 gram salt pills but with only half the NaCl so twice as many need to be taken. These caps also have higher Magnesium and Potassium content vs. Saltsticks, which may be helpful for those on Florinef, which can deplete Magnesium and Potassium...
It works!

cramps were so bad I had to call for a ride
December 15, 2016
This'll get lost in the mix, but I owe them enough to write it.

I got these pills for biking. Do they work? Yes. I did a 44 mile loop 3 times with them and 1 time without them. The time without them I couldn't finish, cramps were so bad I had to call for a ride. The 3 times I did it with them I didn't have a hint of cramps (or fatigue, really) even the next day.

They work. Also..

Years ago, I ran on the treadmill. I got to the point where I could go 60 minutes .. but I'd have to wait 1 day between runs. I was cramped up pretty bad so every other day was the best I could do. (that was when I was 43 years old)

Now I'm 47. I haven't run in 3 years (I hurt my feet and they took a long time to heal..) and just getting back up to 60 minutes at a time.. and with the pills I'm running EVERY DAY. When I'm done? I shower.. and forget I did anything. Zero fatigue, zero cramps. Next day? Back on the treadmill ready to rock.

The one time I forgot? HURT after running and couldn't do much the next day. BUY THESE PILLS NOW. I'm getting more (on my 3rd bottle) and wouldn't even consider doing anything without them. LOVE THEM.
Great Product! It really works!
October 14, 2016
This product really works. First tried this during a 15 mile trail run in very hot humid conditions, and it saved me bonking. I've used it since then and it works well every time. Start taking it the day before if you're running in hot and/or humid conditions; and, even if you're not, you still need the electrolytes and this is a great way to get it. I think the price at about $20 a bottle is ok. It is a little difficult to find in bike or running stores, but it is worth the effort tracking it down or buying online. I take 1 about every or so during a marathon at a water stop, and take it with whatever other gel/beverage/block etc that I might be taking. Wash it down with plenty of water or beverage. The best thing you can say about this product:
It works!!
Endurolytes keep my legs feeling strong all day long
May 27, 2016
I attended a fueling seminar held by a pair of triathlete coaches whom recommended this for long periods of exercise. I am an avid cyclist and often do Gran Fondo events and century rides. I would cramp and legs would feel heavy in the later part of the rides. I tried these and was blown away by how well they replenished the electrolytes lost during intense cycling. I now take two or four per hour when cycling and I feel strong throughout my rides.
Just the "right" amount of electrolyte supplementation.
December 5, 2013
I use these during and after every long run. It could be a complete placebo effect, but I feel better several hours after a run if I take a couple of these during the run.

From a nutritional standpoint, they are better than other electrolyte supplements because they offer replenishment of more common electrolytes over many other products that give you only sodium and potassium. Electrolyte imbalance is a fuzzy science, and which ones you need (and when) will vary from person to person and from day to day. That said, these seem to offer a good amount of each, without going overboard on any of them. Of course, "good" is a very subjective term, but I like to think that these provide just the necessary amounts of each to keep everything working. Working WELL is up to you, as these are supplements, not a replacement for proper eating habits. In other words, Endurolytes might give you just enough Chorlide or Potassium to meet a basic requirement for function, but you'd be wise to find an actual source of these nutrients on a regular dietary basis.
Solved the mystery of the terrible post-run nausea!
February 20, 2013
I have been running now for about 8 years. About an hour after my long runs (4-7 miles), I noticed I would get a terrible flu-like nausea that would last for about an hour. It was horrible and I couldn't figure out why. Turns out it was an electrolyte deficiency! I thought I was dehydrated but for some reason my body expels electrolytes like crazy so now I take 2 of these electrolytes after a run, usually along with Gatorade, and I am good to go. I am so relieved to find out what was causing me such sickness.
Hammer's electrolytes have no calories, sugar or other additives which I like. I would recommend these to anyone, especially to people experiencing the strange post-workout symptoms I had!!!

5 miles I've tried many products and I'd say Elite Sportz Salt Pills are the next best thing to pickle juice
April 17, 2017
The Elite Sportz Salt Pills have provided noticeable relief from my cramping. I'm a long distance runner and normally I can't go more than 8 miles without drinking pickle juice. I've completed two runs with the Salt Pills and have been able to run 8 &13.5 miles I've tried many products and I'd say Elite Sportz Salt Pills are the next best thing to pickle juice. I would recommend this product.

I tried Rapid Rehydr8 before a 50 mile bike ride. I took one every hour and I didn't cramp up. However, I did notice my blood pressure was a little higher after the ride. I'm still experimenting with it, but so far, it works well.

I think I have POTS. I faint amd get suoer dizzy all the time, with heart rate increasing thirty points well into tachycardia range when I go from sotting to standing. One one ofmthese is not enough. Several is more helpful. I have seen other items not as easily portable though.
So far I am very happy with it
December 10, 2016
Seems to do the job and works well. I have used a product by Hammer that I trusted for a very long time but the last time purchased it, it was different and I could not even stomach it so I was looking for a replacement when I found this product. So far I am very happy with it.
Did what it's supposed to do.
July 24, 2016
You should never expect miracles from any product. I can also say that I am about as far from a true athlete as you can get. However, I can say that this product did help me finish a Spartan Sprint on Blue Mountain on a extremely hot day. Being sure to follow directions and hydrate properly certainly didn't hurt, but I only had minor cramping in my legs which did not last long. There may be better rated performance products, but this definitely worked for me.
Would recommend for athletes
October 21, 2015
Unclear the effectiveness, but use these in combination with electrolyte drinks when riding bike or running long distances, especially if it's race day. So, I would recommend if you are involved in triathlons, duathlons, or just enjoy 50plus mile bike rides where you can't carry a lot of food with items with you.

Love using these during long endurance bike rides
August 10, 2015
Love using these during long endurance bike rides. They really help with preventing muscle cramps and prevent me from getting dehydrated, even when it is 90+ degrees outside (obviously pair with adequate amounts of water for full effect). I'll admit too, my friends and I have used these before going to bed after a night of wine drinking or day of tailgating at college football games and they seem to help get through the next morning as well haha
A Must Part Of My Runs/Rides While Living In Rain Forest
July 27, 2014
I am not sure if its psychological or if physiologically due to these tabs or a little of both, but after i have started to use them I feel like my exercising and performance and recovery time seems to have drastically improved.

Lets paint the picture, I am roughly 6'1" and 235 lbs. I currently am doing an expat for work for a few years in Singapore which is roughly on the equator in Asia in a very humid and tropical rain forest climate.

I roughly (5) times a week do trail runs and/or mountain bike rides in jungle for anywhere from 1-3 hours per outing. Having done roughly the same thing prior to using these tablets it would be very painful towards the end, and on rare occasion i would feel light headed, even though i would drink tons of water.

Adding these supplements seem to have improved both my physical performance both in time and distance and my post exercise recovery seems to be better as well.

My process is that prior to exercising I take a Hammer Nutrition Endurolyte Pill and then use the NUUN Tablets in my camelbak as well as adding to my post workout cooldown water consumption.

Reason for the (4) is that when I break them open to fill water bottles the taste is kind of blah, where as the NUUN tablets have nice flavor.
Doctor recommended, but he's MY doctor, younger and better conditioned. Results could be placebo effect ... or not.
July 26, 2013
I've been having difficulty managing longer hikes and hot weather lately. I know I don't drink enough before and during my hilly walks. I don't like lugging around all that water (8 pounds a gallon), and drinks like Gatorade give me have way too much sodium. So my doctor, who happens to be a cyclist on the same trails as I hike, recommended Hammer Electrolyte Capsules. Today was the second day that I tried them, three before my hike, three after the first hour, and two after the second hour. I drank a total of 16 ounces of water. Well, I didn't feel like passing out and I was not out of breath. That's a positive change from the last four weeks.

I really can't say that these electrolyte supplements did the trick. After all, I'd need a control group, and right now with my issues, I'm a group of one. This could be a placebo effect because my doctor recommended them, but I'm smart enough to know that my doctor's in a hell of a lot better shape than I am AND he's 23 years younger. Not a good comparison. In the next five weeks, the plan is for around 20 hikes, although 13 of those will be done on the coast and in much cooler climes. I'll report back. If I finish all of the hikes, this will get 5 stars.

One side effect of this pill is that it causes frequent bowel movements. I couldn't really tell if it made a difference in my overall endurance and blood pressure, because I was so busy running to the bathroom every five minutes. I weigh about 115 lbs, so maybe the pill was just too strong for me.

Pill casing does not hold up
December 14, 2016
poor substitute for SaltSticks. I mainly use salt tabs for long distance races and long OCR races.I brought these along for a 40mile race. I had them in a small poly bag & within 6miles nearly all of the tabs have broken open - I've never had this issue with SaltSticks. The contents of the pill might be good, but the casing is terrible.
Works, but the capsules fall apart to easy.

After years of avoiding these, I finally decided to try them in a race I've done three times before. Even though the event was only about 3.5 hours long, I typically get leg cramps in the last 30-45 minutes. I took 1 before the race and 5 during the race (mixed with my sports gel and water). Unfortunately, I couldn't tell any difference. Still had cramping in almost the exact same spot in the race and in my legs. Like before, I was able to ride through it. Really can't say I noticed any difference. Seems like an expensive gimmick to me, though most racers I know use them.

January 4, 2016
I like these for during or after really really long runs. I would only recommend them for people who are training for full marathons or ultras. I'm only giving them three stars though because they made me really sick. I am sure they work fine on most people but I have a very sensitive stomach, so I would just caution all buyers to be aware if they have a sensitive stomach.
It's better than nothing
June 1, 2014
My husband works in 100 degree weather several months out of the year where he's sweating constantly. He hates Gatorade and wanted something he could take with his water that would hydrate him better; something cheaper than SmartWater. He tried these a little at a time and said he couldn't tell any difference in how he felt. He gradually upped the dose taken at one time and they nauseated him. These didn't work for him, but if you don't have a sensitive stomach, they may work for you.

Non-athlete take on electrolyte pills
August 22, 2017
Purchased as a cheaper alternative to SaltStick and haven't noticed a difference. I am not an athlete, and I don't take these to do specific activities. I live in hot and humid Washington DC and generally can't seem to get my electrolytes balanced. I suffered from chronic mild dehydration for years and am just now learning to stay properly hydrated with water and electrolytes. Summer had been a struggle for me until I found these pills. I take one at night before bed and one in the morning with a full glass of water. Then, any time I sweat during the day, I take a pill and drink water to recover. They have been a miracle for making it easier to tolerate the heat and humidity. I no longer get dehydrated or suffer from nausea on very hot days.UPDATED: After a few weeks, I did notice a difference. These pills simply don't work as well as the Saltstick ones. I was still dehydrated although the extra magnesium in the formulation made me very... regular. I ended up buying the Saltsticks again.

May 15, 2015
It makes me wonder and suspicious why there was a label placed on the bottle, upside down, and with a part of the written words blacked out by black ink. Was this an afterthought by someone whether it should appear or not? Also, the diagonal stripes through the supplement facts on bottle made it impossible to read some of the ingredients. It seems that the potential recommended use of 24 capsules per a three hour tennis match (not uncommon in tournaments) is questionable in my mind, maybe not yours.I would appreciate some feedback about my concerns now that I have responded to your request.Charles MorrisEllington, CT

February 19, 2016
The product works great, 5 stars. I have used it for years for endurance running and its helpful, especially in humidity. The two stars are for the fulfillment from this vendor. They are not supposed to have a smell or taste, The bottle I received smells and tastes bad, and it's getting worse. The product still works, but the taste is terrible. It took me a while to realize the pills are probably rancid, this is confirmed by the other comments about the taste from others. This is probably my fifth year of using these pills and they have never smelled before. I've used too many to return them at this point. Do order these for any endurance training, but pick a reputable fulfillment company to buy from.

6250% vitamin D RDA for a 5-hour bike ride? Really?
October 3, 2015
I wish I had known ahead of time that each capsule contains 250% of the RDA (1000IU) of vitamin D- that's far too much to safely consume up to "6 capsules per hour during exercise". In hot conditions, I need about 1000mg sodium per hour (5 capsules), so over a 5-hour ride I would get (250%x5x5)=6250% RDA vitamin D? Shame on me for not reading the label online more carefully before purchasing. This stuff may be dangerous if you use more than a few capsules. Manufacturer asked for a 5-star review (2 emails) and they are getting a 1-star review for being so insistent.. It's despicable when a company feels the need to cajole and remind customers to produce a product review, and makes me question the rest of the reviews here.
