Worth the price

These things here are amazing. I used to live in New York and my house was really terribly insulated and always cold and my bills were ridiculous. I bought these things and between 2 of these they heated up my over 1000 square foot house and kept it warm. Then when i moved to Florida I left these to my brother and he told me hour much they helped his bills and how much they helped during the winter.

We ordered these for my daughters bedroom during these colder months and it heats their rooms quite nicely. I love the look of these as it gives off a unique look because they have the brown wood look to them. The Heaters can be controlled by the remotes they come with or on the front of the heater, my favorite feature is the off button on the back of these. although they are plugged in, you can shut the entire heater off from the button in the back. But thats npt the only off button, theres one on the front as well ..... we just dont tell the girls about the one in the back, I like to switch that button when its not in use, then the kids cant play with the control buttons in the front. Puts off some good heat which is the important part. very happy happy with this purchase.

Have been using these. What an awesome purchase! My room is 13'x27' and one of these keeps the whole room toasty at 72°f. We have had another brand and the cord gets wicked hot. No such problem with these. Excellent buy!
Excellent choice over the more expensive Edenpure models. With a few extra bells and whistles too!

Update 2-13-17 These heaters are still working exceptionally. We totally made the right choice picking these heaters.I can not express just how much we love these heaters. I just wanted to start out with that for the people just skimming the comments. Now, I will get started with the review. We heard wonderful things about Edenpure heaters, and they are excellent little heaters, so we purchased one.So, bring us around to the following winter. We wanted more heaters, but didn't really have the money for the Edenpure. After doing a bit of research, I found these. Great price, comparable BTU's, so I gave them a shot. 2 for less than the price of one Edenpure. Then we bought a little ceramic heater for the bathroom. I was skeptical, but tried it anyway.Long story short, these quickly became our favorite heaters. My absolute favorite feature is the eco setting. This sets the temp at 68, then runs in low wattage mode unless the temp gets too far below 68, then it kicks the heater into high wattage. I know this helps with the electric bill, especially when you are heating a room that you aren't occupying all the time.We don't use the remotes for them, they are small and would get lost in the clutter. We generally just turn them on and forget about them. They are cool to the touch and would be very difficult to tip over. These heaters throw off enough heat for most of the Pennsylvania winter, in an old farmhouse with little insulation. I really only turn on my oil heat for the coldest of the cold days. 10 degrees or below.Highly recommended. After having them for over a year, I noticed that the temparature setting and when it shuts off seem to be a bit off. I set it at 72, it shuts off on it's own, but the thermometers in the rooms say 68.
Great product

I bought these heaters, one to keep and one to give to my son. I love mine! It heats well, and isnt loud. and my electric bill did not go way up like i was expecting.
Small, yet effective
April 23, 2013
I had researched infrared heaters thoroughly, and all of them seemed to have one quirk or minor flaw when reviewed by purchasers. I decided to buy an infrared heater, keep my expectations low, and keep a vigilant watch on my electric bill to see if they made my meter spin faster than expected. Lifesmart's ratings were overall pretty good, and in this case the price was extremely attractive, so I made the buy. When the heaters arrived they were indeed packed 2 in a box, and were smaller at first look than I had expected. The cabinets are fine, nothing exceptional, and the fact that they are mounted on casters is a thoughtful addition for ease of moving. Both units worked fine right out of the box, and they do a very good job of what they are supposed to do - provide supplementary heat. My spouse has cold feet from October through May, and our old house does have a cold room or two, and both of these situations have been ably addressed by these heaters. She can wear slippers through the coldest evenings and keep warm feet, and the edge is taken off a cold room in fairly short order, and at an increased use of electricity that is less than I had anticipated and find more than acceptable. They do have their quirks - the thermometers are preset for 86 degrees, and you must adjust the temperature downward, which seems counter-intuitive to me. The remote control is fine, though it is a minor annoyance to discover that you must supply the AAA batteries in order to use it. The noise levels are barely noticeable, even when I am sitting next to one. Are they the heaters to end all heaters? Probably not, but then I never expected them to be. Buyer, remember: keep your expectations realistic!! They provide supplementary heat to make a room more comfortable, and if you keep this in mind, I think you'll be more than happy with these Lifesmart units. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Love this affordable heater!!
December 25, 2016
We have 2 Eden Pure (expensive) Infrared heaters that clunked out. I always thought they were the cream of the crop for heaters but so surprised that this more affordable heater works just as well if not better! I bought a warranty it wasn't expensive. The top does get hot so don't keep anything on it or watch out if you have small children. I use it in my bedroom because our heat duct doesn't work in there. Keeps the room warm unless it is an extremely cold/windy winter day then it has difficulty keeping up as any heater would. Overall I am pleased with this heater, had for over a year with no problems. We keep it running 24/7. Not too noisy, I don't mind the background noise/humming of the motor. I like the remote control I can turn it down from my bed if I get too warm or turn it up. Once a month I rinse out the filter in the back it gets clogged with dust and runs better when it is clean. Don't waste your money on those expensive brand heaters this works fine for much less money!

I have electric baseboard and the electricity rates in CT are outrageous. Not to mention the fees and extra charges on top of the electric usage. I do what I can to avoid using the electric baseboard, the main heat source is my pellet stove. But for my finished basement I used a plug in heater. I had a previous model by this brand and I loved it. Also helped dry the laundry I hung to dry. The heating element stopped working after several years of faithful service, so why not replace it with the newer version? Well, I did. This is a great heater. Good size, nice cozy heat. I never had a problem with outlets burning up, but I have replaced them before using this style heater. I would advise you have your outlets upgraded if they're old and have the wiring pinned into the back. They should be looped around the screw of the outlet on the sides in the corresponding terminals. Even after replacing outlets, I had an issue with a Lasko oscillating quartz heater overheating my outlet. Needless to say I stay away from those and only use this type, the infrared heater.
Great heater it totally heated my living area and kitchen!
July 10, 2016
I live in Florida and sometimes it does get cold i purchased and used this item this past winter, I have 2 central heat and airconditioners on my two story house and most of the time we are in the living room/kitchen most of the day, i decided this would be the best solution for keeping my downstairs warm for the winter without running both units all day. So i set my upstairs on 68 (as heat rises it would not be on all the time, and i completely cut my bottom one off and ran this heater with it heating only the kitchen, and living room. my heating bill actually dropped in half this winter!!! i will be using it again and again and might purchase another for the upstairs and completely cut off my upstairs too!!! i love the remote feature also!
Excellent Area Heater
December 29, 2014
We use it in a basement play area, about 60ftx20ft. Without any additional conditioned air other than 2 vents from the HVAC, the basement seems to stay around 62-65F year round. I was hesitant about other people saying that this was oversold as a large room heater, but it heats up the room quickly, even when set to efficient mode (68F). I can't say how much power it uses, because I only turn it on as needed, however after 1 month of using it, there hasn't been a noticeable change in my power bill.

It's not quiet, but not obnoxiously loud either. It has a fan, it pushes hot air, it does make noise. If you are looking for something super quiet, look elsewhere.

The only very minor drawback is that the remote uses the same frequency as my volume button on my TV and whenever I turn up or turn down the volume, it changes the sleep mode setting on the heater. Not a deal breaker since I can just walk to the TV and change the volume there.

Attached is a picture with the heater in the far north corner.

November 15, 2016
I have lived in this cabin in the woods for 20 years and never was able to stay warm using electric space heaters. This one works great. I don't understand how it works, but it does. And the electric bill was not terribly high either. I call it magic, but you can call it whatever you like.
Works good
August 1, 2016
Works good puts out way more heat than a space heater oil or ceramic, uses some electricity but once the place is up to temp it hardly runs unlike the baseboard heat, saves a little bit in electricity.still running after two winters.
Love the 8 element
June 25, 2016
Works great for my basement which is 15 x 40, the 8 elements work so much better for large rooms than others that have 4-6. I bought 2 and I ue the other one upstairs it does my living room and kitchen with no problem at all, much cheaper than fixing an oil furnace and the increase in power was much less expensive than purchasing oil and the furnace didn't even heat the basement.
Don't Put it Off!
November 21, 2015
Have gone through several heating seasons now wondering if an infrared quartz heater would really work for me. I have researched different models and price points, but could never come to a decision. Until I read about the Ultimate 8 from Lifesmart!! Not wanting to put up with a damp chill in the house this winter (without running the baseboards on a higher setting and paying for it too), I decided this was the year! Kept looking at pricier units with a higher name recognition, but closed the deal with this one because it has 8 elements, a nice looking cabinet, high reviews, and a great price (a local chain retailer has a 6 element unit from Lifesmart for the same price). So glad I got this one from Amazon! The unit is performing even better than I had hoped. The chill is gone, the heat on that level of the house is solid (we live in a split-level and this heater takes care of the kitchen and an open L-shaped dining room/living room area). It cycles nicely, keeps cool to the touch, and seems accurate with the temperature read-out. On top of that it is quiet. Also, the instruction book makes replacement part purchases easy. Don't put it off!
Fantastic Large Room Heated Does the Job!
January 10, 2015
This was purchased for my very, very large classroom in which 9 teachers work with high school girls who have learning disabilities. I sit in the far outside corner of the room, and do not like the temperature to be particularly high, but it's too cool for me, and everyone else was always complaining as well, teachers and students, about the coldness of the room. I wanted something that would look nice and would be safe, that had good insulation and was high quality. I was particularly concerned about any of the students getting burned by the type of heater on which the heat source was too close to the surface, or the outside of it was not well insulated and burns could happen if the heater was simply touched. I read all the specs on this heater, and considering its construction and cabinetry, felt it would be safe. I was right. This is a fantastic piece of attractive furniture as well as being a great heater. The large room gets nice and comfortable within a reasonable amount of time. We do have students going in and out every 50 minutes or so, therefore we must guard against the door being left open because this lets the heat out. It does a great job of heating and the outside is absolutely cool to the touch. I particularly like that it has not only an electronic shut off on the front control panel, but can also be shut off with an old fashioned switch in the back. The only people in the classroom who know about that control are the teachers, which is going to stay that way. The girls are very respectful of private property, so they don't even touch it, but we don't want them able to turn it on by themselves. Of course they can figure it out eventually themselves, but the less they know up front, the better. It's a great heater for a very large room and all the teachers and students are very pleased with it. Even the person responsible for okaying it for safety was impressed with this heater and check marked it immediately on inspection. I definitely recommend this heater for extra large rooms, for its functionality and its looks.
Just one night

Our house has a heat pump and although the house is well insulated, with 6" exterior walls, the heat pump leaves a lot to be desired - the house, in winter, is always cold and the heat pump runs constantly, with the thermostat set at 70 degrees. Last winter I had to set the thermostat to supplemental heat the entire winter and it was still cold so we used space heaters, too - our electric bill in January and February were ridiculously high. The Lifesmart Ultimate 8 Element 1800 Square Foot Infrared Heater w/Air Ionizer arrived yesterday afternoon. The house was 74 degrees when it arrived with no heat turned on, just sunshine and a warmer day heating the house, but the temperature by early evening was dropping steadily and there was constant strong cold wind. Overnight it was in the low forties. Today it is only going to reach into the mid-fifties. Unpacked the Lifesmart after it arrived yesterday, turned it to on, and set it to 74 degrees. We didn't turn on the central heat, and around seven o'clock last evening the Lifesmart began heating - we monitored the thermometers round the house and they never dropped from 74 degrees by the time we went to bed at 11 p.m. I awoke at 3 a.m. and walked into every room in the house (most rooms have a thermometer hung on the wall or a tabletop display thermometer) and every room was 74 degrees. The Lifesmart is so quiet, too. We are going to buy a smaller Lifesmart for the Master Bedroom, as we keep the door closed to keep the dog and cat out while we sleep. Will update this review next month after the electric bill arrives.December 24, 2013 - 1:30 p.m. - Electric Bill was posted today for the period November 15, 2013 thru December 15, 2013. We used 1854 kilowatt hours in the period - our bill is $226.25. Same period last year we used 1835 kilowatt hours, the bill was $226.07. We are supplementing the LifeSmart Heater with two ceramic heaters - one in the bedroom when the door is closed (nights and whenever we want to keep the cat and dog out), and another heater in the mud room at the far end of the house. As I said in the previous comment, it is a lot colder this year than last - our daytime highs are often what our nighttime lows were last year, but the house is warm with the LifeSmart heating the house, whereas it never felt warm with the heat pump, even when the heat pump was brand new. We are considering taking out the floor registers and having the openings sealed and having the heat pump removed. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

At this point it is a 5 star product. I would feel more comfortable giving it this rating a year from now as I would know more about it durability. But I really like the product. It does a good job of heating the office space I have. It makes more noise than the previous heater but the noise is not much of a problem or distraction. Now to see how long the product lasts.

The item showed up 1 day early and the packaging was great. No damage. The unit is simple to operate and the performance of it is great. Only thing I would recommend to them is to include batteries with the remote.

Heats Very Well at 700* F!
March 22, 2016
I've had this heater since Nov. 2015, and it has saved around $60 this winter on the electric bill. It is quiet, and puts out good heat that will heat half of the house in temps down to 40 F. Once it gets colder than this you need the heat pump to start coming on to keep up, but not using the central heat during milder conditions has been a big savings. The thermostat on the unit is a little off, but setting the unit on 73 - 75 does fairly well at maintaining 69 - 70 in a large open living and dining room. I do recommend cleaning the filter at least every 2 weeks, maybe more if you use it constantly. The airflow begins to be reduced as the filter gets dirty, and you don't get enough circulation, and could be why some have the error codes. I've never seen any errors.UPDATE: I tested the heat output with a laser thermometer on high setting to a peak reading of 700* F. That is outstanding. I also tested a CZ 2011 infrared quartz, and it only read just over 500* F
Great heater. I have been using it for a long time and have absolutly NO complaints!!!!
February 7, 2016
I absolutely love this heater. I use this heater to supplement propane heat. By it's self, the heater will keep a large room to temp. with out a problem. The wood on the heater looks amazing and matches the rest of my household furniture. The heater has a 12 hour timer that is easy to use, although I have not had much use for the timer. The heater has great range of temperature settings and the thermostat is spot on with the one for my furnace in my house. I have read other reviews about people complaining about the heater blowing cold air. I noticed that when the heater shuts off after reaching temperature, the heating elements turn off, but the fan continues to blow so it can cool off the elements. This only lasts for a short time. The heater itself does not get hot or blow any heat onto the floor. The four coasters on the bottom of the floor make it easy to move around the house as needed. The heater also has an automatic shut off when the heater goes off balance. I have found that the sensor for it is sensitive, but not so sensitive that it goes off when moving it from room to room. I would recommend this heater to anyone who is looking for an infared heater.
Worked as I'd hoped in our coldest February on record
March 1, 2015
This heater has been excellent in our family room. It's quiet, and I love the ability to set the timer for both off and on. The remote is handy and works well. Most importantly, this heater heats well. Our family room is 20 x 16, and has wide openings to other rooms. The blower motor went out on our old gas fireplace, and it was cold! In fact, this was the coldest February in Buffalo history. This little Lifesmart heater has been a trooper over the past few weeks since we got it. The bonus is that its cool to the touch and has a small footprint. I can't find anything wrong with it, at least not in its first month of operation. Sorry if that makes it look like a review that's too good to be true but this heater, at just under $100, is good and true.

Good for supplemental heating.
November 28, 2015
I've used these for a year now. They're not super quiet, the fan makes a little noise when it turns on. But it's quiet enough and the sound is easy to get used to. The units I received also looked slightly different than the ones pictured - though I think they look better. Heat is moderate, but can keep a large room warm constantly when used with my forced air heater. My old 1928 house has no insulation and these help keep it just right.
Toasty warm
November 9, 2015
Overall very happy with purchase of our 2 heaters. Temp has dropped to 40 outside but we stay warm inside. Humming does not bother us as described by others as being loud. I like that we can move them to different rooms or use in one room facing different directions. Did not notice overwhelming smell when they are on.Con. If both heaters start on high they trip my breakers (less one star). We must start them on low or eco and leave alone. Good part is they warm the house or rooms quickly on these settings no need to use on high yet nor has my furnace been turned on for the season.
along with them being a cool to the touch unit it was no contest
October 29, 2015
Update 11/27/15 it has been 32 here and 3 of these set to 68 are keeping it at 71 degrees in our oversized Condo. We have new windows and doors, but even my dad says his does a good job in his old cottage.Heat Pumps are the dinosaur version of heat. When a hvac company wanted to charge us 1500.00 to find a freon leak other wise emergency heat charged us 300.00 a month, we got infared heaters! Tiny units, but in seconds you can feel the heat cover our over sized bedroom. At half the cost of electricity and covering the space of the room with heat rather then the walls and ceiling, along with them being a cool to the touch unit it was no contest. We did research other types of heat like ceramic, electric, gas and these still got the best ratings, cost the least and worked the best!
Good and cheaper
December 24, 2013
Good quality and much cheaper than the Amish version. We've had one of those that cost more than both these and didn't heat as well. If you're up north, might not work for you, but in Alabama where temps are rarely in the 20's it works great actually gets the room too hot!
Good...but check out the electrical requirements!
November 19, 2013
Great for supplemental heating! I have one concern with the product that I think should be advertised. It is that in the instruction/user guide it emphasizes in multiple places, in bold, and in capital letters that these heaters need to be plugged into an outlet that has it's OWN INDIVIDUAL 15 AMP (OR MORE) CIRCUIT! And that's not an easily accomplished task, at least in my older home. I don't have many outlets that have their own circuit and the two that do, aren't in the area where I want to use the heater. So, that's an issue. I'm currently using mine in an area where there are only overhead lights and one other outlet (with nothing plugged into it) on the circuit and it seems to be working fine. Also, you cannot plug anything else into the same outlet. Just FYI, for future buyers!
Overall a good buy, but 1,200SF each....no way!!
January 21, 2013
The units seem to be well built. I would say the the SF area that each is rated for (1,200) is grossly exaggerated. But, I believe that all of the various manufactures area heating claims are unrealistic.I put one of these heaters in a 750SF area with a ceiling height of only 7.5'. The room was about 60° to start and I let the heater crank on high for 3 or 4 hours. I don't believe it raised the temperature at all....maybe a couple degrees at the most. I then plugged the other heater in on the other side of the room, set it to high and within 2 hours the temp was rising. After the room got up to about 68°, I shut one of the heaters off and a single heater seemed to be capable of holding the tempature at about 68°.The outside temperature on this day was in the mid to upper 40's.The heaters run very well, are quite and have always been cool to the touch. I paid $200 for the two pack. There is no dought to me that these heaters are worth every penny of $100 each. Just do not expect one heater to handle a 1,200SF area. I would rate each heater in the 400-500SF range at best. I have only had the heaters for about 2 weeks....so far so good.

For now I am giving it a three. I received this about a month ago and it worked fine. It was used to warm up a 2 car garage and in my opinion it does that pretty well. I also like how light and simple it is to use. However Its been about 37 days and it completely stopped turning on. It wasn't dropped or damaged at all and Im hoping I can return it and give a second one a shot. If they return it with no problem I would definitely give this a 4.5 until than I will stay at a 3.Ok problem fixed . Works great to me :)
Keeps us snuggly warm at night
December 28, 2016
Does what I had hoped it would and keeps 2 average sized rooms, with a hallway separating (approx 600sq ft total) at a comfortable temperature. I have insulation issues in the upper level of my home and these rooms get very cold in the winter months. No issues with outlets overheating for me as mentioned in other reviews. I use for about 8-10 hr intervals on a 68 degree setting. My only complaint is that it does make a lot of noise when adjusting temperature and when the thermostat kicks the unit on (we use it during the night mostly so this can be disruptive).

This is much less expensive than propane. It keeps warm a little over 600 Sqr.Feet in a manufactured home. I use the economy setting and run it all night to warm the kitchen and bedroom halls. The air that comes out isn't super hot, so allow 30 to 45 minutes to warm a large area.
Saved My Winter
February 27, 2016
I live in Washington state where mold and rain are a huge issue. The 1000 SQFT. home I rent has crappy little electric wall heaters that provided poor heat and left the rooms damp and cold. I purchased two Lifesmart units for the top and bottom floors and ran each only when the 15X14 SQFT spaces were used. I ran the heater at 83 degrees on high heat for 2 hours which heated the entire downstairs successfully. Doing this twice per day kept the space comfortably warm with temps at 36 degrees outside. On the second week the breakers for the house blew causing me to reset them. I reduced the Lifesmart thermostat to 72 degrees on low heat and have received the same warming results with no blown breakers. Now the clincher: the electric bill. The bill for 2015 at this time for two months was $165.84 and this year 2016 is $175.98. My home has been dryer, warmer and mold has been less of an issue. Warning: These babies pull some amps!
Convenient.
March 15, 2015
The good news about this heater is that you can set the temperature and it will cycle on and off to keep the room that temp. The not so good news is that it takes it a long time to be able to bring the room up to that temperature. We have another one of these heaters of another brand and it heats up a similar sized room in half the time. The bonus of these heaters is that the outside box never gets hot so you can safely have these around children. So even though I might not like how long this heater takes to work I still like it for it's safety.
Trouble free heat.
November 28, 2014
I have 2 of these. The 1st one purchased locally 2 years ago, and works well.............but always hoping for something better I tried another heater (a Honeywell I had to send back because it quit working after only one week and cost me $ to return). .... I returned and purchased another one of these.Isn't that what you really want, something that works without problems?I wish you could set the "eco" setting at a lower temp than 68. And I wish it would power down from high to low, but it does do a good job of maintaining the temp you set it at..............WITHOUT PROBLEMS.Thanks.
Lifesmart Ultimate 8 Element 1800
February 27, 2014
I am very pleased with this heater for many reasons. The first being that it performs well. This is my main heat source for the bedroom. The room is ice cold and is about 15 x 15. There are 3 settings: High, Low and Economy. I can never set it on "Eco" because it keeps the room too hot. The thermostat says 68' on Eco and regulates it by kicking off and on as needed. Instead I set it on 58' and it still feels 10' warmer keeping it comfortable (for me) all night. Also this room has no insulation and the windows are drafty old single pane. Another reason I like it is I can move it easily from one room to another and park it just about anywhere as long as the back isn't pushed up against anything. The air filter is on the back and should be cleaned fairly often. More so if you have pets or if its used in a dusty area. The filter is a cheap thin plastic one like found in most AC window units. I have thought about replacing it with a better one. Speaking of pets... that was another huge plus in purchasing this one. My dogs have a tendency to lay too close to any heat source and I knew this one would not singe their coats or endanger our lives by them pushing a dog bed or toy too close to it. They won't even lay in front of this one since the heat comes from near the top. Two other reasons which I just find nice is (1) I can put things on top of it just like a little table because it stays cool to the touch no matter how long you run it and (2) it looks nice. I didn't give it a 5 because the first few days I used it some type of oil would drip onto the floor. Not sure what this was from. Other than that I am happy with my purchase.
Best value in large area forced air electric heating
November 3, 2013
This is a very safe product and looks great too. It is also likely the best one at heating a large room because it can continuously pull a little over 1400W (12-amps) on the high setting, putting out more heat compared to smaller ones and ceramic electric heaters that only really draw about 800W. They may all be rated at "1500W" but none of them really draw that much when warm. Having more elements gives it more heating surface area to dissapate heat, which allows it to pull more power all the time. There are also low and eco settings so it doesn't draw the 1400W if you don't need the extra heat. Because it does draw more power than other units you have to be more conscious of what else is on that circuit so you don't trip the breaker. If you have 15-amp breakers, then this thing will be drawing about 12 amps, so you cannot also run a vacuum cleaner on that circuit or a refrigerator or microwave or other large device. This is advertised as 1800W in places, but in the owners manual it says 1500W. However, in the same owners manual it says it may draw up to 15 amps, which would indeed be 1800W. In my actual testing it draws about 1440W (12 amps) continuously, which is actually about twice as good as most smaller cheaper ceramic electric heaters or any other wire coil electric heater. I have tested multiple units that draw less than 800W, and my "3-element" LifeSmart portable unit is the best small unit I have able to draw and dissapate just over 900W continuously on high. The fan is not loud, it is also not silent, it needs to get all that heat dissapated and distributed. The wood is always cool to the touch, doesnt heat up and the power cable doesnt get hot either like some other electric heaters. it will probably look best on carpet, because on a hard floor the legs are above the ground a little bit since it sets on the casters, and the 4 wooden legs are just a bit higher than those wheels. On carpet the wheels will sink a bit so the legs look like they are on the ground. I keep this one at my office and it helps warm up the corner of the building where my cubicle is. It is a large building, about a 20,000 sq-ft floor and our boiler has not worked for a year. It will get down to about 50 degrees inside the building on the coldest nights/mornings, and even when its about 58-62F outside this helps get my corner of the building to 68-70F in a couple hours making it much more comfortable to sit in the cubicles. There are other little personal space heaters on other power circuits helping to warm up the entire floor, but mine is the only one in about 2000sq-ft.If you just need to keep one person warm, then a $50 ceramic heater would do fine when placed a few feat away from the person, although these IR based units provide a more comfortable temperature of air (not as hot) but more distributed so it can warm up a whole couch or something like that.So Pros(1) Great performance, actually providing a lot more heat output than the small cheap ceramic units(2) Very safe, case does not get warm, has heavy duty power cable, its shuts off from tip over or just knocking it hard(3) The real wood looks great(4) The timing settings and remote are niceI dock one star for the following(1) I was hoping it would be able to draw at least 1500W continuous with the "8-elements", but at ~1440W its still better than any other forced air electric heater I have tested.(2) The buttons are a little cheap feeling.(3) I am not a fan of the beeping when hitting buttons, but only do that when turning it on and setting it up.

Works well and the fan is quiet. The wood of the case is a bit rough though--mine had rough edges and poor staining. This isn't something I would want sitting around my living room for any length of time. However, as I bought it just for temporary use as an emergency heater I'm satisfied.

I like it. It seems to keep the room at the temperature it is set on. I do believe I have saved money on my heating bill and we pretty much run it 24/7. It heats our Den and does a good job.
Great Little Heater
December 16, 2016
I really like this little heater. We need something to take the chill off in our finished basement. Didn't want something permanent or large. This looks like old wood and has enough settings to ensure comfort. The heater has a remote control that works all the functions on the heater. The heater takes a couple of hours to fully heat up the room. We keep it on the ECO setting during the day so it stays at 68 degrees. At night we run it a few degrees warmer while we are watching TV.
good little heater for the price
July 7, 2016
Works good as a supplemental heater, I wouldn't use it as a primary heat source unless it's used in a very small space or your just trying to bump up the temp a few degrees. After using for a couple of winter's, it's still going strong. The "veneer" is my only complaint. Its really just a coated paper with a wood grain look glued to the substrate underneath and the glue loosens from the heat blowing out so the strips above and below the heater output is curling away from the wood underneath. It's purely cosmetic and doesn't bother me much due to the heater staying in my bedroom where no one sees it, but it could be an issue for some.

Not impressed by the heat it puts out. But tempartures haven't been that cold yet. I understand it only heats the items in the room not actually throws out heat like a small ceramic heater would. I will update my post in December. Okay it's now January, and the temperatures outside are in the 20's and 30's. I am going to update my rating to 4 stars. You can tell the difference heat wise in using this product, the remote is convenient to raise or lower the temperature settings and turn off the unit. I am giving it only fours stars due to the temperature indicator light is so bright it does brother me at night when using it in my bedroom, it would be nice if you could adjust the brightness but you can't so I just placed a piece of paper over it. One other thing I noticed it draws a lot of power, when I have this unit on and run the sweeper from the same junction box it does cause the electrical breaker to trip, but I haven't seen an increase in my electric bill so far. I would recommend this product.
Great energy saver product
March 4, 2014
I think the product is great. There was no spike in my electric bill like ceramic heaters. The thermostat is able to set a temperature I want. The only thing I am not crazy about the heater is when it reaches temperature, to cool down it blows cold air.

As advertised Doesn't heat room real quick but great for kids because they stay cool to touchUpdate- one remote stop working after a week. Took four email attempts for replacement in which wrong one was sent first. Finally received right one, which looked used. The remotes are EXTREMELY cheap almost like a child's toy, I don't expect them to last for the life of the heating unit itself. Still would recommend units to someone despite the cheap remotes and poor customer service
Decent heat, somewhat helpful customer support.
December 18, 2014
First off let me say they work great. They provide heat for a single room and seem to do so very well. We've been using our two units for a month or more of wet winter weather and we are happy with them. Now for the down side... Customer support is willing to do what is needed to make you happy within their power. When our units arrived we could see that one had a broken bulb/heating element. Wanting heat and not wanting to return the good one we contacted Lifesmart customer support. They quickly sent out 4 new bulbs, but for last year's model which would not fit. I contacted them again and they stated they did not have spare parts for the 2014 model so they would simply replace it with a new one. They had me cut off the cord, remove the tags and send them in. In return they sent me a brand new unit to replace the unit damaged in shipping (I should mention they were well packaged). I couldn't argue with that other than I had to dispose of the bad unit. Unfortunately they shipped me last year's model. Yes it works, yes it is similar, no it's not as good as the 2014 model. Am I happy, not exactly, but I am sufficiently satisfied as you do get two for the price of a single similar unit.

I just got this unit, yesterday, so here are my first impressions:The fan in each unit is LOUD. I was expecting something near-silent with an infrared heater, but I was wrong. The casters are very handy for moving the units. It looks classy and fits with my New England home's decor.Prime shipping still took a week because the shipping box was so large.
Lifesmart

I bought this pair of heaters this winter. They seemed to do the trick, to help cut down on the heating bill. I life in northern New York, so you can't expect these heaters to heat 1200 sq ft like they claim, when it's below zero. I ran two at a time for 24 hours in a 1200 sq ft house and they could only keep the house at around 56 degrees when it was below zero outside.
Works well ... in smaller areas.
May 5, 2013
So far, both units are still working (I was concerned about other customer comments). Of course, now that the warmer weather is here, I haven't been using them. As far as 1200 square foot coverage, that seems to be a stretch. It nicely warms about half that amount of space quickly (with a door shut). Otherwise, even with the temperature increased, it only seems to cover a local area. My electric bill didn't seem affected whatsoever, so that was great.
Not what I expected
February 25, 2013
I purchased these heaters to help cut down on our propane use since our propane bills are killing us. Well, they cut down on the propane bill, but more than doubled my electric bill! If you are purchasing these as a heat supplement I would not recommend them. We have both units in our kitchen/dining area which is approximately 600 sq ft and they will heat this area up nicely while they are running nonstop, they by no means heat 1200 sq ft. I am giving them 3 stars because they will make an average size room cozy, however they will also make your electric bill scary.

Not for large rooms
January 20, 2017
Nice design, quality look and feel. The addition of the second remote is a nice touch. It will not however, heat a large room. I bought this to keep me warm in the basement. If I put it directly under my desk blowing on me, it will keep me warm. It will not heat the basement however.
We like it. Does a descent job
December 23, 2016
We like it. Does a descent job, but would be good for a 350sqft are at max. Our family room is around 450sqft, my plan was to keep our central heater at 63~65F, and then use this one in our family room to bring the temperature to 72F there. This can't pull the trick, and after running for 24 hours straight at max settings, temperature in our family room is at 70F. Won't be much economical in the long run.
Warms up great
February 18, 2016
I bought this for our downstairs area, and yes it gets hot, and the fan works great, but I didn't notice a lot of extra warmth throughout the area. It says it was for a large room, but it worked well in a really small room. The features of the box staying safe to touch is GREAT if you have kids and pets. Also, I love that it rolls around. It was worth the buy, just wish it warmed up a bigger space like I thought it would.
It's ok

It's ok, I use it in a 20 X 20 room. It takes a long time to get up to 70 degrees. Not near as fast as I thought it would be.

It is not in the class with an Eden Pure and it does ok but would not and will not purchase this heater again. Will not keep room as warm as our previous Eden Pure and has much louder white noise from the fan but it is a third of the cost. I guess as the saying goes (you get what you pay for).
It's good....but not great !
December 24, 2016
Well the only negative thing that I have to say about this heater is, the heat isn't that warm ! Now the positive side is, the blower is is quiet, and has a good air flow output ! But I wouldn't buy another one ! I have a Dr. Infrared Heater, and it heats up the room quickly, it's quiet, and the heat is warm !
Mixed feelings
August 14, 2016
I bought two of these for my 2400 sq ft house. They put out a good amount of heat. One lasted less than 6 months. The other one is going strong. If the first one hasn't failed, they would be 5 stars without a doubt.

I bought this as an alternative to using pellets for this winter in upstate NY and it only lasted me a single month of running on high heat but at 75 deg, maybe this was asking too much and I killed it but I was very unsatisfied as a second I bought is still working under the same conditions. It was a great alternative for the time being and now t only runs at 68deg on eco otherwise it shuts off like its blown a fuse that I will have to TS vice it working as it should but like I said I ran it HIGH HEAT 75deg for a month before it died so maybe its just me!!

Does Not Heat A Large Room Well
January 10, 2017
Unfortunately, this heater does not come close to heating a large room (15x17 or greater) by itself. When it is turned on, it automatically lights up with a temperature setting of 72 degrees. You can change the setting, but it's standard so I usually leave it. Once it reaches that temperature it's supposed to shut off automatically. It has never gotten to that temperature in cooler times. For a smaller, enclosed space, it may work better. It is pretty, though, and is still working after one year.
Heating the bedroom

I heat my house with a woodstove I bought this heater for my bedroom since the heat from the woodstove doesn't make it to the bedroom the lifesmart heater does a good job heating the bedroom it's just a little underpowered I would still recommend it
Pretty Good, Just don't Expect it to Heat a Room
June 27, 2016
Works well enough but definitely will not heat the space it claims. It's great if your cozied up on the couch and have it pointed directly at you. For the price, it serves it's purpose.
Not quite what I hoped for
November 23, 2015
The living room we got this for is a little large, but I am still a little disappointed. The thermostat starts out at 72 degrees even though the room is not 72, but since the heater thinks it's that warm it doesn't heat up. I have to run it on 74 or 75 to get it running. The room does not get that warm, but it does take the chill off the room which is really all I wanted it for--just so that I don't have to jack up the heat in the whole house to make the living room comfortable. I haven't seen an electric bill yet to see if it is more economical--we haven't had the continuing cold weather to need to run it very much. I gave it three stars because I think the thermostat is incorrect right out of the box. Hopefully, the numbers really don't mean anything and we'll just keep running it to take off the chill while we watch TV in the evenings. It does warm the area nicely on the higher settings.

Not for use when sleeping
January 10, 2016
I bought these Lifesmart zone heating 2 pack heaters a year and a half ago then I was looking for two more heaters and my Amazon account said you bought these before do you want to buy them again, so I said great they (the Amazon website) remembered what I bought I reordered them and they were from Lifesmart but were different (the controls and LED lights) I thought maybe a new and approved model.I plugged one unit in my room and everything was great set the timer for 11 hours at 68 degrees closed my bedroom door came back at bed time the room was perfect 68 degrees went to sleep and the unit went on when the temperature dropped below the setting 68 degrees and BAM I WOKE UP TO A BLOWER MAKING SO MUCH NOISE. I didn't fall back asleep until the Lifesmart thermostat reached 68 degrees then BAM THAT BLOWER NOISE AGAIN. I had to get up and turn the unit off. This unit is VERY LOUD. Note: I gave the two older Lifesmart heaters to my Family for there home, they were much quieter.I will not recommend this product for anyone using them during the night / day when sleep is needed.I will however recommend this product if the blower noise is not a issue because the thermostat works great and the units quality is Good.
Not worth it
May 8, 2015
These heaters look cool, but they're bulky, loud, and don't heat as well as the radiator style space heaters. I also haven't noticed any difference in my power use (or bill) from using the radiator style. Radiators are a third of the price. Save yourself the cash.

Both were functioning correctly with no problems, just not what they were advertised to be. Supposed to heat up to 1000sq ft but took 1hr to raise temp 1 degree in a 400 sq ft area and still felt chilly...the icing on the cake= having to pay for return shipping and so not completely refunded.

November 28, 2014
We bought this last winter and were disappointed with the heat produced. It wasn't bad on the electric bill, though. However, one of them broke I'm just a couple of months, and we are STILL trying to get them to fix it after almost a year.
Try a different brand
March 7, 2014
We bought these about a year ago. They worked as well as could be expected as supplemental room heaters, but there were issues. First they emit a very loud, annoying beep when turned on or off. A query to the manufacturer confirmed that could not be disabled. One of the heaters squeals persistently during the first few minutes of operation; the other heater gave a loud, electrical "snap" before it died yesterday altogether. We'll have to junk them both and find a more dependable replacement.
This heater was defective
December 20, 2013
I received these heaters and read the directions on how to set them up. Plugged the first one in and white plastic burning smoke poured out of it. Then had to open the windows to get rid of the smell, making the house even colder.I sent them both back without even plugging the second one in. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

Very low to the ground hard to get at and set up for an older person. Used it once and tripped all the switches, my electrician is away for winter so not much help to me. The instructions say to have it on a switch on its own. Where in your house do you have one thing running off its own switch ! Kept it as I can't pick it up on my own to return it. Hopefully electrician can see to it when he returns from Florida. Hope we have a warm winter.
Very little heat
March 23, 2015
I read the reviews before I purchased this item. Many review said that it heated a large area and that it was the only source of heat and it worked well. Some of the reviews said that it produced very little heat. Unfortunately, I received a heater that produced very little heat. It does have a blower, but it seems like the air only heats about 2-3 feet in front of the heater. To be fair, I used this heater in my attached garage during some of the coldest days ever in this area. (Outside Temperatures at -5 to -15 and will chills at -25 to -40). It simply could not raise the temperature in the garage. On the positive side, the garage did maintain its temperature at freezing (which was the ultimate goal with my water pipes in the ceiling). So, I am giving the heater the benefit of the doubt because it was the coldest winter on record for my area. If this was used in a room with more insulation - it may work better. But in an attached garage with no other heat source, it was only average.
Not the Heater for Minnesota!
February 23, 2015
Purchased because lower price than Eden Pure, but it does not put out the heat that the EPure does. Have used Eden Pure for many years and I should have stayed with it. I live in northern MN so maybe the Lifesmart would be adequate in a warmer climate. We're 24 below zero this morning when I know from experience that the Eden Pure would be pumping out enough heat to keep my rooms warm. This one? Not doing the job.
Metal Lukewarm Heat
January 2, 2015
So this is advertised at Large Room. I say Large Cost, Low Heat is more accurate. Three modes, I believe the lowest is 64 or 68degrees, this is your Economy setting. It would work what in a studio apartment? Bought this for a Living room and still not warm. I saw a 6fold increase in Electricity Fees and Useage leaving this on its Middle Fan Setting for 2hrs a day for a month. I believe there are better, and probably, costlier models. This is made and China and not sufficient for my large (small by some standards) room.

December 15, 2016
The first one I got WORKS GREAT, 5 stars but had a cabinet defect in that the left front strut like leg you can see was split. So I ordered a replacement. The replacement also had a small cabinet defect but it was in the rear and was where stain was missed. but it is where the housing is for the fan/filter intake so no big deal. However it must have had a short in the interior. Every plug/circuit I used poped my breakers. Including the one the first one ran like a champ on. same draw, as the units are identical so...3rd try enroute I hope. That will be the do or die trial. Why 3 stars with all the aggravation? Because the first unit as a heater easily warms 1000 sq ft.Revised to two stars because the third one also had a cabinet defect. If you don't care about the cabinet appearance when it works it works..
Lasted a year
August 22, 2016
This heater lasted a year. I used it for a medium size room (10' x 14') and it lasted long enough for the insurance to expire just weeks before.Positive:-It looks nice, discrete-It has wheels (which is great because it is heavy)-Once the room is warm it keeps it cozy.Negative:-It took more than 30 mins to warm up my room.-It took a lot of power: many times I had to turn it off to use another electronic in my room and my energy bill was incredibly high.-About a two months before it stopped working, it made a loud buzzing noise similar to hair clippers.-It was heavy and awkward to carry.Considering how much I paid for it, I expected it to work for more than one winter.
Good for 5 months.
May 7, 2016
I received mine at the end of November. Died at the end of April. As others have wrote, it did Not have the air ionizer feature described THEN, but not in the description now. The company is sending a new power plate for ME to fix. The guarantee is for Parts. If you want them to fix it WE pay for shipping to them BOTH ways! Does better than my Lifesmart 6 element that started to "fade" after 2 winters and covered 4-500 sq.ft. This one takes care of 5-700 sq.ft. I have a high vaulted ceiling, so if you have a 8' or 9' ceiling it would probably take care of 900 sq.ft.
Sorry didn't work for me...
April 4, 2016
It really doesn't heat the amount of area that it says it will.... I'm not has happy as I hoped and the remote stopped working a couple of months ago and not because of dead batteries. My room is 16x20 built 3 years ago with 2x6 construction and fully insulated.
Did not meet my expectations
February 22, 2016
I really researched this heater and thought I was making a good decision. I chose it because my other heater did not have 8 elements, and it does a great job heating the room. Unfortunately one of the casters broke and though it is still usable, it is handicapped. I'm not sure if I got a heater that is defective or not, when I opened it, it seemed that something was rattling around inside, but I ignored it and pulled it out and plugged it up. It just does not do a good job heating the area. My girls say the same thing. I kept thinking, maybe it will get better. Well, it didn't. We are pretty disappointed after what I paid out for it. Yes disappointed.
Not quite what is advertised
February 1, 2016
This product uses a tremendous amount of energy (1500 watts) and produces only minimal heat. After my furnace broke down, I sent off for this heater, and I had it on constantly for several days, but it didn't adequately heat up the large room, as advertised. I had to augment the heat from other sources, the dangerous one that is the oven and eventually another space heater. The ad on Amazon indicates it’s for a large room. But inside the manual are these statements:“This heater is designed to use as supplemental heat in areas most needed.”“Customers with smaller rooms experience quick heat changes. Rooms with larger and open floor plans can expect up to 24 hours to completely heat up.”Those statements seem to be true. It helps heat up a room, but it’s not a miracle cure like it seemed in the ad! It should do quite nicely in a smaller room, but will not heat a large room! It's very attractive though.

Not so silent nights
December 18, 2016
My office is in the backroom of my apartment. It happens to be the one room without any heating vents and as such, gets a little chilly when it's cold. I thought getting an infrared heater would work well in warming up the room. After looking around, I decide on this model based on the price and apparent feature set. I had actually ordered another Lifesmart infrared model, but that one came with loose parts rattling in it and completely work. Additionally, it was a little bit loud. It was a more expensive model, so I decided instead to go with a slightly cheaper model. This time around, no rattling noise. However, the unit is a bit loud. Note that it could be that I'm sensitive to the sound. I also don't always have anything out by way of TV or music when I work. It turns out that the different fan modes (High, Low, Eco) all seem to have the same fan output. And this of course translates to it being noisy. While the unit itself looks nice and fits within the room, I can't tolerate the noise. Since the fan settings don't really do anything, I had to return it.BTW, it does stink when you initially use it. Mind you I only ran it about 10 minute max. You probably want to initially run it in an open area. I got a bit of a headache from it.In all, the 2 points go to the look. It also did seem to heat up the room. Else, it's a bit of a disappointment on the rest of the "craftsmanship" of the product.
Not at all happy
January 21, 2016
I don't know if it was just a bad unit, or this is a typical unit. My problem was that I had it in a small kitchen(approx. 150 sq. ft.) and set to 70 degrees, it would never reach the set temp. (It was not that cold here(SC) yet, so I was not at all happy with the performance.I would like to copliment Amazon for the prompt return info. and ease of returning. I give Amazon an a++ for return procedures. Thanks, Amazon
It's a convection heater
March 20, 2015
I suppose that's a nice looking convection heater.I purchased this item to supplement the heating in my split level house. I have it down in my carpeted 325 sq/ft (13f x 25f) cooler family room where I spend most of my time. It's not an enclosed room, as there's a stairway at the one end that goes up to the main level. I've moved the unit around to experiment, and currently have it at the one end by the stairs, pointing into the room. After 4 hours on high with the thermostat set to 77, the ambient room temperature has gone from 65f to 66f since I've been here, which could be aided by the heat from the TV, lights and myself being in here. The fan is pumping out nice warm air if I'm 3 feet in front of it, which is nice. But sitting on the couch where I'm typing this, 12 feet away, I don't feel any less cold than I was 4 hours ago.It was my understanding that infrared heaters heat objects, cloths, people, etc., whatever the light waves can see. I put a pair of sweat pants 4 feet in front of it, and they're still cold to the touch 4 hours later. So what's it supposed to do again?I'm puzzled by all these reviews on how this unit instantly heats and makes people warmer. Placebo effect? Can my unit possibly be broken... even though it's got the orange glow and blowing out hot air? Not on long enough?I'm tempted to return it, as currently, it's nothing more than a nice looking piece of furniture that uses quartz elements to heat air and blow it out. I could have gotten the same result from a $30 unit.
One of the worst products I've ever received from Amazon the only good ...
February 22, 2015
One of the worst products I've ever received from Amazon the only good thing I can say about this it looks really good and the remote is very responsive it's very easy to move it's very good and well he a small room for sure it will deathly not heat 1500 ft.² it won't reach 80° ever not even the economy setting which is 68° My room is not even 1000 ft.² and it couldn't even hate thatmy room is about 500 ft.² so I purchased this hoping it would do a great job I honestly feel that this is 100% false advertising don't say your product can do something and it doesn't even come close I bought this product after reading some reviews some good some bad I was hoping that the better views were bad units or that they have fixed the problem but sadly they have not if you are looking for a good heater to heat a small room this is awesome but if you're looking for a heater to heat anything over 500 ft.² look elsewhere this is horrible
not impressive
December 24, 2014
Not Impressive Setting the temp is next to useless you can set it to 75 and it will never reach that temp in the small room it's in,. crank it up to 80 an the room will get to 71 The centeral unit is set to 68. The old 1500w oil filled electric rad heater did better on low (600w). Control panel is too bright for the bedroom you will not need a night light. Unit is quiet and looks nice but I needed Heat! The unit is smaller than it appears in the pictures (That is a plus in my book)
This would never heat 1500 sq ft
April 27, 2014
Purchased this heater because I had to remove a kerosene monitor heater. I am very disappointed in the heating capability. The cold season is just about done but the room never feels warm like I like it to feel.

Great till not so great
December 22, 2016
We have had these for 2 months. They both worked great until today- when one just stopped. We use them in a couple of 'farm' offices and they were doing a great job of heating up the space during the work day..... till today when the one just stopped.
Horrible product horrible company
December 15, 2016
They absolutely do not work. The amount of heat they give off, if you want to call it that, is barely Noticeable. I believe they are defective. When I contacted the company to return them they gave me more trouble than any company I have ever had to deal with. Wanted me to pay to return the, over $100! Insisted on pictures of the damage, what damage? They do not work!
Crappy item don's waist your time!
May 4, 2015
ordered this with all the reviews that it had.... be aware customer service sucks there... and do not buy them thinking it going to heat anything. Plugged it in for 24 hours had it turned up on high and the room did not change in the room and it made a slight noise but with both in the same room it still did nothing. Customer service said we needed better insulation
WRONG HEATER SENT

I did not receive the ones in the picture! I will be returning them. See the photo of what I received and compare it to the photo advertised.
Horrible product. Does NOT WORK!
October 24, 2014
I have only had these foe one day and already hate them. Theyrun for about 5 minutes and then turn off and dont come back on. Wasted my money on these and want a refund.
Didn't do even half the job it should have.
December 31, 2013
These are supposed to heat a 1200 Sqft room each. Our room is 300 Sqft and one heater could not heat the room. Using the second was not an option too, as it specifically states that we should not put it on the same circuit. We tried for a laugh, and it tripped the main fuse immediately. We have multiple $35 ceramic forced air heaters which, believe it or not, actually heat the room better, so you're better off buying a different heater.Sorry for the bad new folks, but we've got to be honest - they are pretty rubbish.

I WILL NEVER AGAIN BUY A LIFESMART HEATER
February 27, 2017
Product worked well for a few weeks , Now the heater won't run at all. An E1 error code displays on the heater telling it that is overheated or there is not enough power for the unit to run. This is not the case though, I've done my research and there are many similar cases out there of this same problem happening and when the manufacturer is contacted customer support is very poor and don't seem to care about any issues that you're having with the product. I WILL NEVER AGAIN BUY A LIFESMART HEATER. buyer beware.
Runs your electric bill through the roof!

Very expensive to operate. Will run up your electric bill Heat is good and works well BUT!
We started out the night with what would have been ...
December 12, 2016
We started out the night with what would have been a five star review. It heated up our room quickly and efficiently and didn't blow out the circuits in our poorly wired, very old house. But then I had to get up in the middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep. When I returned to the bedroom a couple hours later, the room was full of a slight burning smell as well as a thin haze of smoke. I had to leave the door open to air out the room. Needless to say, I shut off the heater, reported this to the manufacturer, and will be returning it. Very scary!
Disappointed
February 14, 2016
It didn't warm out room very well
Don't be tricked as I was
January 22, 2016
I'm never sure what to believe anymore when reading reviews. It's baffling how some, if they're even legit, report to this product being great, when the one I ordered barely heats the space 1 foot in front of it. It is sitting 3 feet away from me right now and all I can feel is cold air passing over me. With my hand 6 inches away from the vent it finally begins feels warm. This seems to be a well-marketed ripoff.

UNIT STOPPED WORKING FOR NO REASON. NO RESET. DO NOT BUY.
February 27, 2017
This unit was working perfectly fine. And I was completely happy with it. It was delivered Jan. 10, 2017. I was doing a great job keeping my finished basement warm. Then 2 days ago, it just shut off and will no longer start. Not with the remote, nor by use of the manual buttons. This is now 2 weeks past the "return window", and I cannot return the item. There is no fuse to reset. So now I'm stuck with a piece of junk. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.
the product worked just great. Until it didn't
November 21, 2016
ok... the product worked just great. Until it didn't. less than one year of use. I need another one and maybe I'll even buy the same one figuring perhaps the one i got was a dud. Anyone else reading this review have a similar experience?
Clearly a damaged returned passed off to me.

Broken and re-glued back corner. Not happy but did not unpackaged within the first 30 days.
Didn't work from the get go. I returned it ...
August 5, 2016
Didn't work from the get go. I returned it immediately. Turns out it had been returned to them once before and then refurbished.
Works about as well as it looks, not well at all
January 14, 2016
I guess one can debate what an extra large room is. I ordered this to heat the area of my living room that is on the opposite side of my main heating unit. This heater didn't do the trick for me. I use ceramic and oil radiant space heaters in other areas of the house and they clearly did a better job than this unit. Also, it is as fugly as pictured. If aesthetics are important to you I wouldn't get this if you have contemporary or modern furniture. Maybe it will work for those with rustic cabins.
The appearance is good. Why only 3 stars
October 29, 2015
The unit is as advertised. The appearance is good. Why only 3 stars? The fan is loud, very loud compared to other units. The green displaynis way to bright and there is no way to dim it.Update: unit died after three month of use. Very disappointing.

Junk. Buy another brand.
February 1, 2017
It was delivered on 12/27. Died 1/30. When we called Lifesmart, they said it has to be returned through the retailer (Amazon). Since it's over a month, there is no option to return to Amazon. In the meantime, 2 kids are freezing because the supplemental heat source is gone. Don't waste your money on this brand. I've had 2 other brands of infrared heaters that have lasted years.
Perhaps it was tested in some warm climate and I guess that would be fine but way out here in the tundra of Montana
January 9, 2016
Ok it does not heat 1000 square feet. It barely heats 200 square feet. Perhaps it was tested in some warm climate and I guess that would be fine but way out here in the tundra of Montana? No dice. It will maintain a reasonable tempature if the outside temp is more than 30F. Don't waste your money if you live north of Texas. Plus, after one winter of use, it no longer works.
Dont buy if you want a heater to last.
December 29, 2015
This worked really well last year. I was very happy with it. I stored it in a sealed container over the summer. I pulled it out to use this winter and it won't work. I paid over a $100 for a heater to only work 3 months. Not a good purchase. Might as well pay for a cheap space heater every year.
BAD REMOTE AND BAD SERVICE
December 24, 2015
This heater works well but has two problems: After less than ONE MONTH, THE CHEAP REMOTE DOES NOT WORK, and the heater comes with an ugly sticker on top (a heat warning that's important) that, when removed, leaves an ugly glue residue on the most visible part of the surface. Even after complaining about the remote, the seller has not contacted me to make things right! I'm deeply disappointed.
Missing parts, piece of junk. Returned immediately
November 6, 2015
Arrived to me missing the main power button in the back. It did not fall off in transit, it was just never even there. I feel like I've been scammed. Now I'll have to be cold for another couple days before a space heater that actually works gets delivered. Don't waste your time and money on this hunk of junk.
Save your money do not buy this "heater"
March 5, 2015
Bright numbers make it very conspicuous (UGLY). Wood grain is not even close to any real wood I have ever seen and especially not oak. This fake simulation would be better just a solid color. Tacky and embarrassingly cheap looking. It heats as good as it looks (pitiful). I bought it because it said it would heat 1500 square feet but it barely makes a difference in a 12 x 24 room. In the product description, it was compared to a hair blow dryer in cost to use and heats the room about as well as a hair dryer would.I am very disappointed that this product did not come close to my expectations from the product description. Cheaply made junkThe joke was on me, burned again on an online purchase.
