Good quality sound bar for the price. I bought it to improve the sound on my HDTV. Since the speakers on the TV are mounted in the rear of the unit, I'd have to turn the sound way up to be able to hear most tv shows. With the sound bar, the speakers are now facing me, and just that alone has dramatically improved the audio. I didn't need the sound bar to be top of the line, so I can't comment on how it might measure up to other models, It does exactly what I needed it to do, and I'm happy with the purchase.

We mounted this on top of the tv with double sided tape and it sounds and looks great

I received one as a gift and I love it. I like that one can make use of both RCA audio-in and Bluetooth.

Bought this as a Christmas present for my parents and they love it! Great sound quality as well and has an FM radio built in so you can scan for FM stations!

If you are looking for a powerful sound system... this is not for you (You can tell for the price), but it's perfect to enhance the sound quality of your TV if you are in a small room. I use mine in my bedroom and I don't need anything else! Bass is ok considering you are not acquiring a subwoofer, but you can only feels it you bust a little the volume! Very good for the budget! (Use optical connection and your system will be completely noise free)

For the price it is a good value but the remote is just weird. The sensor is on the top of the speaker housing so I have to bounce the IR beam from the remote at the ceiling to get a good response. The volume controls are rather sluggish so it often happens that I overcorrect and have to seesaw the setting until the volume is right. And when the unit is turned off, those settings are lost and the default volume returns. And I agree that the surround sound emulation setting is not useable. Also, I did the firmware update and I have had no problems with the unit not working. It did lose sound twice but that was traced to a poor cable connection. Resetting the plugs cured that.

It does have an echoing sound to it (my husband says its like hearing it through a tin can) but to get rid of it, mute the TV volume. Also, my remote to the sound bar only works when it wants to, and only at a certain angle. You do get a fuller sound, but in my new apartment, it is very easy to cross over into "annoyingly loud".

If you don't need much bass, and you are in need of this form factor, this is a pretty good setup. You can easily mount it in horizontal or vertical configurations with the included clamps and base stand. The audio quality is pretty good, but lacks in bass, so I would suggest a supplemental sub woofer if you care about that.

no ir connection so useless for soround sound with a high def tv...kids like the blue tooth and sound

I WOULDN'T BUY IT AGAIN. IT DIDN'T IMPROVE SOUND VERY MUCH. IF AT ALL.It did bring speakers from back of tv to the front. If you mute tv sound.

I had hoped it would give close to good sound - but very muddy.Here are my disappointments:-Remote is apparently REQUIRED to turn unit on. (I hope I am wrong, but these silly little remotes are so easily lost-This is a refurbished model and the 1/8th inch audio jack on the side is flakey - shorts or opens - but humming and left or right channels flakey.-Remote is virtually unintelligible when it comes to guessing which source selection chooses what audio. Guessing sucks.-The on/off LED is not visible when the bar is properly placed.I think the only feature really like is that it supports optical audio input.

I wanted something cheap. I was wrong, should of paid an extra 30 dollars for a vizio sound bar instead!

If all you are looking for is a bar to transmit sound, this will work. The surround sound is pretty hollow but if you leave it off the sound is not too bad. It has a few (slightly understated) cons though, for one ONLY the remote will control the thing- no buttons on the actual bar, if you lose the remote you're screwed. There have also been quite a few problems with the inputs, going out one at a time until now all we are left with is the aux. I don't really know if that was our doing, as we've repositioned it a few times (not roughly by any means though). So it is probably fine for a small gaming setup but would not use it or expect it to be spectacular enough for a home theater.

Required purchase of connector wires not included in package. Electric cord was only one included. Instructions gave 3 alternatives to purchase based on how the unit was to be used. Remote was not easy to use, as one had to constantly move it to a position that allowed it to be read by the unit. Bracket in back to allow hanging on wall not very well designed. Difficult to hang. "Surround Sound" feature sounds like you are in a cave; strangely echoing. Normal sound quality not as good as smaller speakers I have used, although somewhat better than my 32" TV. The price was reasonable for the size of the unit. The overall look was sleek and unobtrusive.

Sound bar did not work with my tv, but seller was fantastic and worked with me to return the sound bar. Compatibility issue on this sound bar...very basic hook-ups that limits capability and performance

The sound is terrible definitely does not have any bass and it's about as loud as my tv the only thing that's good about it is it doesn't take up much room and it has a remote I wouldn't recommend this item if your looking for something with good sound and a little bass this definitely isn't the one for you

It came without a power supply so I can not even tell you if it even works or sounds good or sounds like crap.

Don't waist your money, this sound bar has horrible sound. the TV sounded better by it's self.

Sound was ok for cheap bedroom TV but only lasted 7 months.

Sound quality isn't very good/loud. This after having to find a remote that would even operate it, since it didn't come with the remote or quide.

All inputs stopped working after 3 uses which was a shock as I have never had an issue with a phiIlips product. I will be returning

This soundbar has reasonable sound quality in standard mode, sound ridiculous in surround mode, like hearing the tv through an echoing culvert.The controls are poorly designed, the activity lights face upwards and away from where they need to be, in order for the viewer to see if his or her remote is actually aimed at the right spot to make volume and selection adjustments. The remote itself has tiny rubber buttons which can stick when pressed, causing all kinds of strange problems. The first one I bought malfunctioned almost immediately, though I suspect now that it was a problem with the cheap and cheesy remote rather than the speakers themselves. I am currently setting up a digital to analogue converter (not expensive) so I can feed the tv audio through my old stereo, as I don't expect the soundbar to last very long. I am not impressed.....

It is not what I expected it to be

This product was not what the description said it was. It was described as having audio outputs and subwoofer outputs and it had none of these. The box looked like it had been opened and the contents changed. The product had no A/C adapter in the package. I would not suggest purchasing this item. I think it has been tampered with.

I can't even tell how sounds,no power cord!! What the heck!!what a P.S.!!!

Wish i didnt buy it, but too lazy to return it. poor construction, cheaply made, and the blue tooth doesnt even work. For the same price i could buy a little portable 808 speaker and get the same amount of sound. dont buy

This item came broken. The case was shattered. I had to return it. Total waste of time.
