Great ball!
January 17, 2016
Love love love this ball! It's just like a basketball with the same grip feel and about the same size. 6 lbs is just right for my husband and I to pass around in the living room while watching shows in the evening so we get a little exercise. It came in a nice box and I have no gripes about it at all, it's 100% as advertised. Will buy again in a heavier size I'm sure for in the future.
Very Happy w/ quality & $$
December 6, 2015
I always like using the 12lb ball in bootcamp and tabata classes @ the local Y. Fun, don't know why I never thought to add it to my home gym.(Only had a 5lb ball before.) So, here is what I'm happy about:NO STRONG SMELL STINKING UP THE WHOLE ROOM.VERY, VERY, VERY FAINT SMELL ON HANDS AFTER USE, so faint I do not feel the need to hand wash after.NICE DRY GRIPPY SURFACE.BOUNCES AS EXPECTED, NOT TOO MUCH NOR TOO LITTLE.SIZED JUST RIGHT.Also, if this helps other women out there, I'm in pretty good shape/work out regularly, and am 110 lbs. I like having my lighter ball and now this12lb is a nice addition. If you need ideas for various ways to use this, it comes w/ a poster, plus there's always the internet.
Very decent product, no frills.

My trainer suggested a 6 lb ball for my routine, but I had to go all macho for the 10 lb. Fine to start, but once I get into 30 thrusts I am humbled, and usually only make it to 25 in my circuits. I'm happy to adjust my routine and use it, 'cuz I feel the muscle strength improviing in less than a week. The construction feels good in the hand, no slip pebbling, helpful markings to make sure I hold it right without basketing my hands too much.
Perfect for P90X2
January 26, 2012
I made the mistake of buying a "soft" medicine ball before I startred P90X2 and realized immediately that I needed a solid one. This ball is perfect for the workouts by P90X2. You'll need to do pushups on it so you'll need something rigid - this ball is perfect.
Great deal
March 29, 2011
I have been working out for years, and I have belonged to a variety of gyms. Now that I workout more and more at home, I started buying some of my own equipment. I think that a medicine ball is a great, simple piece of equipment, especially for core training. Having used a variety of medicine balls (with and without handles), I can say that the Valeo is my favorite because of the size (this is smaller than some and easier to hold) and because of the basketball-like texture (which is easier to hold with sweaty hands than a smooth or leather cover). I always shop around--you will not find a better price (especially at your local sporting goods store).I purchased the eight-pound ball, which I believe is a good all-around size. I will likely add a 12 pound-er to my collection soon (I figure, since my family is on a budget, I can use a 10 pound dumbbell or plate instead of a ball if necessary).I have tried a variety of routines over the years; if you are looking for a very good program or just looking for some alternatives to crunches, check out the program created by UNC's basketball coach: [...]. I don't know if Amazon will censor a link to a magazine's website; if so, Google something like, "Tarheel's Med ball workout."
An excellent choice, in a comfortable size
January 9, 2009
I'm very happy with this medicine ball. It seems well made, and its deeply textured surface and medium/small size (8.5" in diameter) make it very easy to handle. When I bought this Valeo 8-pound ball, I also ordered a TKO 12-pound ball, which has some distinct differences. The TKO turned out to be much larger: at 11" in diameter, it's even bigger than a basketball, and the texturing on the TKO is not as deep. All in all, I'm glad I ended up with the combination of one smaller, lighter medicine ball and one bulkier, heavier medicine ball. The larger size of the TKO makes it harder to handle - which is a good thing, because it makes it more of a workout to manipulate it. For exercises like the squat press or medicine-ball curl, I prefer the larger size of the TKO ball, while for exercises more focused on range-of-motion, the smaller Valeo ball is a great tool. If you're considering a pair of these, this might be an option to explore. They both seem equally well made, despite their differences. But if you're just looking for a mid-weight, easy-to-handle ball, definitely get yourself the Valeo.

I like this ball
April 4, 2017
I like this ball, but it is NOT FOR SLAMMING! It will not hold up to the impact. I've had both my 10lb and one 12lb bust, but after 3 years of being in a gym where folks don't know the difference in medicine balls and slam balls.
Color is not as shown
June 6, 2016
I ordered the pink and black ball and it came in black and red. It looks sturdy and like its a good product that will hold up but I think the picture should show what it actually looks like when it comes.
I really like this medicine ball
March 10, 2016
I really like this medicine ball. It is easy to grip and good to add to your workouts. It came with a paper to show you the different types of exercises you can do with it. My only con of this product is if you're new to working out like myself, then you don't really know what pound ball to start at. I started out with the 6 lb and it is just too light but the description on this product doesn't give you an idea of what may work best for you.
Great medicine ball
February 5, 2016
I really like this medicine ball it's got a nice amount of grip plus it's got enough air in it where you can bounce it off the wall or off the floor easily. It's a great way to get some exercise and get your heart rate up but she can do exercises where you don't have to carry weights around you can use this ball instead highly recommended.
Is it just me or does this look pink?
December 9, 2013
I have to admit this is a good, hefty, heavy medicine ball. The grip is very, very tight and strong. However, I only gave it four stars because in the photo, the medicine ball looks pink. I was so excited "WHOOP A PINK MEDICINE BALL!!" Then I got it in the mail two days.... it's RED!I wish the company used a better photo or at least explained the color of this ball because it truly does look pink in the photo. I even checked out the photo again when I got the ball in the mail... it still looked pink to me. But, alas, it is actually red. I won't return it since it's just a color, it isn't the end of the world. But I wish they had a little tag for each color (red, purple. green, etc.Great ball though for working out. Good buy.
8lbs is heavy!
July 23, 2012
This review may actually be extremely helpful to someone. I am a 155lb man. I work out on a regular basis but truthfully I'm a little on the weak side. Or maybe a lot on the week side. I wish I would have went for a four to six pound ball. Eight is way to much and it is taking a while for my body to get used to the weight. Medicine ball work outs are the best. I actually enjoy the medicine ball more than using free weights. You can work the entire body with some exercises. I feel like it improves flexibility drastically. But if you are under 165lbs you might want a lighter weight. One other gripe is that the ball, I believe, was made for bouncing. Which is good for some exercises but the exterior of this ball is like that of a basketball. This makes planking with the ball uncomfortable.

already starting to crack a little bit at the inflation hole after a few months of use. I thought these were built to be slammed, but it does not seem to be the case.

December 18, 2015
These Med Balls are okay for the price, They break in half after 6 months of using 2 times a week. They are consistently only lasting us 6 months with our cross country team doing 1-2 sets of med ball sets per week.
Great for multiple slams, with decent bounce, but not without problem
March 8, 2015
Awesome product and as described. If you are looking for a medicine ball that has bounce, when doing multiple slams, then this is for you. It has a good return (bounce) that isn't overly bouncey. So far, item is withstanding the force that it takes without problems!Update...after using for 3 months, two days a week, the outer shell has developed a large crack. I will be sending to the maker to see if they will replace it as waranted
Not all balls are the same size.
January 25, 2015
Decent quality medicine balls. I purchased the 8, 10 and 12lb balls. I was under the impression that they were all the same size. This is not the case. The 8lb ball is definitely smaller. I was hoping they would be the same size so I could also use for other exercises.

Great price, horrible rubber tire smell. My brand new physical therapy clinic of 3 weeks still smells like rubber and patients have complained. We've tried scrubbing it with lysol wipes which helped a little but the smell is super strong. On a more positive note, it is perfect for our medicine ball rebounder. I hope the smell fades soon!

Bulging out of shape already
July 17, 2016
Unfortunately this medicine ball began to lose its shape and bulge out of shape after less than 6 months of minimal use.
Not for bouncing.
May 14, 2016
Would not recommend if you are using outdoors or bouncing on hard surfaces, which is says specifically that you can.I used the item 15 or so times. Bouncing it in a traditional ball exercise. It split. Now unusable.I prefer the softer ones if you are using indoors.
Medicine ball split and doesn't work as intended.
October 10, 2015
I only use this medicine ball for a side toss against a padded cement wall for core golf exercises. It started to bounce to the right and left and noticed the ball split in the middle. I contacted the seller which they responded but wouldn't replace it. I purchased a Champion medicine ball instead for the same exercise. I can't recommend and feel I may of gotten a defective one and purchased a Champion medicine ball instead because exterior is leather and performs the same and is cheaper.
Avoid the Red, Buy the Blue
November 26, 2014
I have the Red 8lb and the Blue 10lb. The blue is fantastic and has taken a beating. The paint on the red one fell apart after a month and makes it incredibly hard to grip. I guess not all paint dyes are equal?
Smells like Burnt Rubber
June 25, 2014
I've had this for a while and the entire time it has smelled like burnt rubber. I cannot keep it in the house because makes everything smell. I put it on the porch for several months hoping it would air out, no such luck. Unless you have a large Gym, I would stay away from this one.
Lousy product, good customer service
January 9, 2012
Buyer beware! Possibly the worst medicine ball you could buy. We've gone through two in less than two months. The first ball we received lasted about 3 weeks and then during a routine workout the air valve blew-out. Thank God that Amazon customer service was a cinch! We were accommodated with a return authorization and shipping label and had a replacement ball super fast! We were stoked! We thought, for sure, that the first blow-out was a fluke. Until, about a week after we started using the second ball, the sidewall burst. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice.... that wont be happening. I'll take a refund and find a new medicine ball, thank you!

Split after not much use.
June 6, 2016
Purchased four 4lb. Medball for dryland training for swimmers. One has already split and we are throwing them to the ground but it states it should hold up against this. The item should be replaced as it is only 1 month old used MAYBE 10 times.
Cracked already?!
May 20, 2016
Bought this medicine ball for my gym establishment 2 months ago and it already cracked in 1 spot in the middle. Im not sure how long these are suppose to last but 2 months seems ridiculous
It Burst After 1 Month
July 23, 2015
I bought this ball on June 11th, and began using it immediately. After just a little over a month and a half, it burst. The product description says that the ball was made to be able to be bounced on hard surfaces, yet not even two months, on mostly grass, the ball is done. I definitely expected better durability than this.
Junk
July 18, 2015
Bought this to replace a ball that lasted 6 years. Within 2 months of the same use, this one split. I believe the flaw is in the material used since the split was not along a seam but across it. Of course, under Amazon's return policy, I'm stuck with it. Shopping elsewhere for a replacement.
Ball cracked. Garbage!
October 17, 2014
Ball cracked open after two months of use. What a piece of crap! Ignore the overall rating, I got tricked by that. Read the worst ratings and see what people really say about this product. Will never buy again.
Cracked like an egg

My ball broke apart after 6 uses. There is a 6 inch crack in the seam. Cracked like an egg. Very cheap
