Well made. July 25, 2017 Very nice product. Not cheaply made. The adjustment knobs are holding up well. I'm using it for VR lighthouse. I have to adjust them often to move them out of the way. So far they are holding up well. The pipe is not too thin and the legs extend for great support. Highly recommend. Works well for Vive June 26, 2017 Another satisfied HTC Vive user. VONOTO 1/4" Screw Tripod Mini Ball Head for DSLR Camera Camcorder Light Bracket Swivel). I have them extended about 8ft high and have no problems at all unless someone walks right next to one and then there is a slight wobble of course but only lasts a few seconds. Great value, sturdy for the intended purpose June 13, 2016 Great value, sturdy for the intended purpose. We used these to prop up some lightweight dance lights (with the aid of wire and duct tape) and they held up very well indoors. I can't speak for use in wind. Do be gentle with them and understand how they work, never force this type of device to move. If you are forcing it something is wrong and you may bend the tubes and render the stand unusable. . Do watch out for fingers when loosening the screws because that tube drops fast if you're not holding onto it. Would buy again. | 59% Bought these specifically for my HTC Vive Base Stations. ... Four Star Reviews: | 19% Bought to mount my Vive lighthouses on. They work ... February 11, 2017 Bought to mount my Vive lighthouses on. They work well for that application, and have a very small footprint, yet are stable. On slippery hardwood floors, you really have to crank the nut to keep the plastic ring the legs are attached to from sliding up the center pole. This is not an issue on carpeted or less-slippery floors.Note - you will need ball joint mounts such as these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CQAQOSI/ref=sr_ph_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486850828&sr=sr-1&keywords=akoak to mount the Vive lighthouses. They're a little awkwardly shaped and wobbly, so I probably wouldn't use them for photography, but for vive lighthouses they are ideal. Works great. January 23, 2017 Honestly these are nice tripods. I initially got them to hold up my vive sensor bars before I mounted them to the ceiling, and they worked wonderfully; although a little shaky if not setup just right. very wide spread at bottom feet, which is good. August 22, 2016 I was expecting horrible flimsy stands, that you could topple over just by blowing on them. Instead these are quite light weight however they have a huge spread at the foot. The fact that the spread of the 3 legs is very wide, makes these stands quite hard to topple over.I also own about six PBL stands, which are much heavier and better built, however these neewer stands are not bad at all. These stands are little bit like "Target" "expect more and pay less". Great duo of stands for $25, if you're a strobist, these are excellent starters or supplements. November 26, 2015 Fantastic tall stands. Holds 48" modifiers no sweat. Holds multiple speedlites. Holds mild-weight strobes. A two pack for this price is a no-brainer. I use them outside and they're durable enough to be used like this and not be scrap in a week. Great for the price! September 8, 2014 I'd give this 5 stars, but the description heavy duty is a bit of a stretch. It's perfect to hold my LED lights. The build quality is on the low end, but for what I'm using it for and the price it's perfect. Get it, if you plan on using it to hold small LED lights. It's perfect for that. | 19% Bought to mount my Vive lighthouses on. They work ... February 11, 2017 Bought to mount my Vive lighthouses on. Three Star Reviews: | 10% Good for my use, but poor quality build July 12, 2017 These are great for what I use them for. The issue I found though is they are very poorly built. Right out of the package one of the rings were cracked (still holds though) and one of the rivets are poking out like a nail (had to trim it off to keep from injury) Far from high quality, but a good price April 1, 2017 I bought 4 of these stands for general use in my home office (mainly for LED lighting for YouTube videos), and they just aren't very good. The legs don't even really close, the slightest amount of weight causes the center pole to push down, even when the legs are tightened as much as possible. If these could just manage to stand still and the legs tightened, I'd give them 5 stars based on the price but they couldn't pull that off. That being said it's still a dirt cheap stand that you can put something on, so for that it gets 3 stars they work just fine unless you have loose floor boards March 12, 2017 If you are buying these for the Vive, be warned, they work just fine unless you have loose floor boards. Any walking near them makes them shake. This shaking is horrible for VR as it sends your tracking haywire and can cause nausea. They seem to work fine if placed on stable ground; no squeaky floors or loose boards. In the end I chose to keep these in the event I need to take my Vive somewhere. I opted to use flexable go pro mounts for at home. Bought as Stands for HTC Vive Base Stations February 15, 2017 I bought these as stands for HTC Vive Base stations and I am somewhat disappointed with them. They work but 1 of the 2 has very uneven legs. I have read the other reviews before purchasing these and I thought I would be quite satisfied with them however seeing the issue with the set I got it seems like this company that makes these has a bit of a quality control issue. just plastic on ends nothing fancy would prefer like a rubber foot to keep it stable and reduce ... I have to say though that you should probably look elsewhere if you are using them for your vive. The reason being that the tightener to keep the base legs narrow is badly designed and cannot really keep the feet stable on a narrow footprint. For 99% of cases it's fine, but if you are using it for a vive, then it is probably taking up part of the play area, and not being able to keep a narrow footprint stably is just annoying. They seem decently well built; are stable on a wide footprint, but on a narrow footprint they just slowly drift out of place because you can't really tighten it enough. | 10% Good for my use, but poor quality build July 12, 2017 These are great for what I use them for. Two Star Reviews: | 5% but the knob won't pick up so now it's now too loose to extend back up effectively making it useless. So this is a good bye if you ... August 23, 2017 Bought this to use on the Vive's lighthouses. It worked perfectly the first month! I'm giving it a 2 star because on the second month - I had to lower the height on one of them and I don't know what happened, but the knob won't pick up so now it's now too loose to extend back up effectively making it useless. So this is a good bye if you don't intend on moving the heights too much. Broke first time used August 22, 2017 Purchased these stands to use in my indoor studio. The first time I used them, one of the tripod legs snapped completely off. It was holding a reflector so nothing heavy. No fluid movement- did not come with a bag either so there was no where to really store these. Needless to say- I'm returning them. Legs wouldn't lock on one of them July 19, 2017 One of the stands will not lock on the bottom. The other one works well. But, hey, I needed 2. Returning this item. Good stand for HTC Vive Lighthouses but check for cracks on adjustment locks. June 20, 2017 Perfect stand for the Vive Lighthouses. Unfortunately one of the tripods I received has a crack on one of the length adjustment locks. I refuse to use the damaged stand for any expensive and sensitive equipment. I am attempting to contact the seller to see what can be done about this.If you intend to use this stand for the Vive Lighthouses you will need to purchase adjustable ball joints as well. The EXMAX mini adjustable joints are perfect for this. Vive review: A no go October 13, 2016 For my Vive base stations, these were too wobbly to even consider using them. I tried them, and it wasn't even an option. Way too much movement. OK but def cheap March 24, 2015 Very cheaply made. When product arrived, the top rods were both stuck due to faulty assembling, a few tools and ten minutes later I was fortunately able to solve that issue. The knobs are obviously plastic, but there is a fine line between having them tight enough, and too loose to the point they fall off the bolt, which is annoying.I have yet to use these much in my gear bag, but I feel like it won't take long for them to get scratched and bent out of shape to the point they are no longer usable. At least they do extend to 9', and they stand pretty solid with a 160LED video light mounted on top. | 5% but the knob won't pick up so now it's now too loose to extend back up effectively making it useless. One Star Reviews: | 7% Unacceptable June 30, 2017 Top plastic tightener for the telescoper came cracked. This is unacceptable for a "new" product.
