Five Star Reviews: | 61% No assembly.... Yayyyyyy February 10, 2016 I assumed I would have to put the bench together. I waited to open the box for weeks. I was pleasantly surprised to open the box and just raise the bench up the way you would an ironing board. Great product and folds down for easy storage. Nice sturdy bench! December 15, 2015 We bought this keyboard bench for my 11 year old daughter to use with the Musician's Gear 61 Key Stand and Cover Package which we bought on Amazon. It doesn't require any assembly, easy to adjust height and is very sturdy. She feels comfortable sitting on it for practice. We are happy with the purchase. Beginner keyboardist February 12, 2015 So far so good! Very easy to set up! The lowest setting is still a little too high for my 5-year-old daughter but my husband adjusted the keyboard stand and it worked out just fine. The seat is very comfortable and we received it a week earlier - awesomeness! And by the way, we're in Hawaii so the arrival seriously surprised us =) Excellent and affordable. January 13, 2015 I'm very happy with this purchase. Especially for the price - it is amazing! It was firm but very comfortable. Perfect height on the highest notch, fits perfectly under my keyboard as well. It's longer than it looks in the picture, but I was happy about that. Pretty lightweight for having to move around, if you have to. If you're scrolling through all the millions of benches on Amazon like I did, just get this one. Your search is over. You're welcome. Great value. Plus, high enough for keyboards on keyboard stands. June 3, 2014 It's very similar to the Yamaha PKBB1 but with one big difference; it can be adjusted higher. This is important if your keyboard is on a stand that doesn't go as low as a real piano (like the Yamaha PKBX2). I had to return my Yamaha PKBB1 bench because it would not adjust high enough to be compatible with Yamaha's stand! The Musician's Gear bench seems to be of equal quality, but adjusts higher -- it can even be adjusted high enough to be in a semi-standing position, if you prefer that on stage. | 71% excellent! very sturdy chair May 22, 2017 excellent! very sturdy chair! Use it with my electronic keyboard and it's very comfortable and stable! Great quality, very sturdy May 22, 2017 Very easy to put up and then lay flat. Excellent and high quality. Very sturdy. Sturdy bench that has lasted us 7 years so far July 16, 2016 I bought this bench back in April 2009 for my son. It is now July 2016 and I am buying another, only because the top on the original one is starting to split a bit at the edges because it has been so used and abused. This bench has held up to some heavy use, including for things it shouldn't be, like standing on it to hang a curtain rod (don't do that ;-)). Strength-wise it could go for years longer, so I will probably be recovering the old one and using it elsewhere in the house, while giving my son the new one for his piano. It is well-padded and height-adjustable, and it's a tight, sturdy bench that doesn't feel cheap, with no creaking or wiggling when you're using it. It now costs about 7 or 8 dollars more than I paid for the old one, and at that it's still a good deal, assuming the new one is made like the old (and if it isn't, I'll be back to update this review). Get one, you'll love it. I'm getting another for my other studio. October 23, 2013 Great seat, lightweight, inexpensive but great quality. I live the fact it's adjustable because for working at my glass torch I need it higher. For working at my jewelry bench I like it lower. I love the fact it's lightweight and so darn portable. BEST buy I ever made on Amazon. I'm getting another one! Exactly what I was looking for March 13, 2013 I am super pleased with this. It is a nice looking simple and light bench. Very little assembly and I was able to lower the bench easily. Just what I was looking for.Update: 5-28-2013:I am still pleased with this bench, but only now after 4 months of piano lessons did we learn that the highest setting of the bench (even with the the lowest setting of the keyboard stand) is still not tall enough for the right level for my 4 yr old son. So I do have to order a new adjustable piano bench. However, I can still use this bench in other ways. Just want to make it clear that for the young piano students, the tallest setting may not be tall enough. good sturdy chair October 6, 2009 It's a great sturdy chair for the keyboard... the best part is that it doesn't move or creak or rock at all when you sit on it! It feels really solid and well-made.And it's nice to be able to adjust the height - though I really can't figure out how you adjust it SIX levels, there seem to be only 3 heights you can actually achieve. I mean there are 3 holes in each of the legs, so that COULD mean that you could make 6 levels out of it, but matching hole 1 on one leg with hole 2 on the other would make the chair lopsided, wouldn't it?The only problem I had with it was the delivery, but that was more of a problem with UPS than the chair. It's a great chair and I certainly recommend buying it. |
Four Star Reviews: | 13% Sits high but is solid January 17, 2017 Biggest downside is it sits really high, even at the lowest setting. It goes so high I was able to use it to change the net on a 10 foot basketball goal, and I'm only 5'10". However, I did have to stand and tippy-toe on it to reach. And I actually cheated since I move the leg so far to the left it wasn't in the peg. It's not meant to be used like that but it held like a rock so that speaks to its durability and mechanics. The seat isn't very soft but I find it's actually still comfortable. If you need soft, plushy seats though, this might not be for you.Other than that, it's a bench, you can see it all from the image and it works as expected. Four Stars January 10, 2017 Great quality and super soft padded seat. Just wished it'd of adjusted lower for a piano too. Good value! July 22, 2016 C,mon man! It's 30 bucks. Adjustable, with a thick cushion. Works great for us. Great portable piano bench April 28, 2015 Great portable piano bench! Very sturdy, a little bit on the heavy side... It was a little bit difficult to get into the slots when setting up, but once in, was really in - I'm even wondering if I will be able to get it loose if I want to collapse it. Easy to Adjust July 11, 2013 It's not the softest material I've sat on but this bench is easy to adjust and can be adjusted fairly high. The lowest adjustment from the floor to the seat surface is 21.5 inches. The highest adjustment is 27.5 inches. I doubt anyone will need to sit that high, but I'll let you be the judge of that. Would've been better if this bench had a softer cushioning material, but it is okay. Good bench, good price August 22, 2012 This keyboard bench is a great value! It is of moderately solid construction and should suit my purposes fine, though if it were getting constant, daily use, it might not hold up for long. For the price who can complain? The bench comes fully assembled in a sturdy box for shipping. The setup is simple, just select the height you want and pop it into place. No worries about anything coming lose while you're using it--that'd be impossible with the design! I would like to see it be able to go a little shorter, but as long as you measure the height you want and it is in the range described above you should be fine. The cushion is thick and very firm. I'm not sure how it would be after an extended session, if it would conform or stay firm. The covering does feel a little cheap, but for the price a good quality. I would say that the first thing to give out on this bench would be the padding or the covering, but for $30 it is a great deal. | 18% Good mechanics February 11, 2017 More comfortable than I thought it would be. Unfortunately, my tired old butt can't sit on it for ever. So, the lesson would be, of course, sit while you're young. Fun to also move around the apartment and sit in front of stuff you have to fix or plug in or eat at(tv tray), etc. and the mechanical part is perfect for my skills. Totally functional December 2, 2016 This has been a totally great addition to the keyboard in our living room, replacing an antique bench that wasn't padded and wasn't sturdy enough to trust. My sweetheart ends up playing guitar and hand drums on it as well. It is not quickly adjustable, but we didn't need that functionality. Surprisingly steady May 15, 2014 I bought this to go with the Yamaha YPG-235 76-Key Portable Grand Piano Premium Pack for my grandson (age 3). I was afraid it would tip over easily but it was surprisingly steady. We did put a footstool in front of it so he could climb up onto the bench more easily. This stool was just fine for myself or my daughter to use. It's actually mroe adjustable than a piano bench, with three height adjustments. The highest adjustment worked well for the 3-yr-old and my daughter and I could still play easily on it, too.It took 3 days before my grandson figured out how much fun it was to punch holes in the plastic covering the foam. The stool top is now covered in black duct tape. I don't know what you could cover it with that's strong enough to keep pre-schoolers from punching through the top but you might want to try that before the pre-schoolers get at it. Pretty Good - For The Inexpensive Buyer (Harpist) March 21, 2013 I purchased this bench, because I wanted something temporary for my harp playing. I'm 5.6 Inches tall, my lever harp is a Camac Concert Melusine about 4.6 in height. When sitting on the bench, I'm about 4. 5 (I think that's right) It's quite good. I got this bench, because I was having problems sitting comfortable; shifting every now and then. This was mostly due to sitting on a wood bench, with a pillow over it. Not comfortable after an hour of playing. I just wanted an inexpensive bench for the time being. It doesn't compromise my sitting at all. This bench is very comfortable and I do find sitting up straight easy. Now, the bench only has two levels. It only goes down one notch. With that said, this could be seen as a temporary bench for a harpist, until you can find a bench more suitably made for harpists; one you can bring down or up two or more notches. On added bonus is the bench can be folded and stored. Max height 20 3/4" -- too short for me September 22, 2011 The bench was reasonably well made and easy to set up. If the height range works for you (and you haven't had too many supersized meals) then this bench would be a decent purchase. However, it was not tall enough for me.Neither the product description nor the reviews available at the time of ordering had any information on the actual heights of the bench. So, for the sake of anyone considering this bench, the heights of the bench I received ranged from 19 to 20 3/4 inches. Good quality for price March 22, 2011 The bench was well packaged and arrived in perfect order. It appears well made - the welds are good, the legs are straight and square (there is no wobble whatsoever) and the hard rubber (or plastic?) caps at the ends of the tubes do a great job preventing the bench from sliding on our hardwood floor. The padding of the seat is thick and comfortable. The only thing I do not like are two stickers on one of the legs I am struggling to get off - I may have to try with some de-natured alcohol. It also remains to be seen how long the faux leather upholstery will last without cracking. In summary though we are happy with the bench. It may not be beautiful but it is solid and works - what more can you expect for the price? |
Three Star Reviews: | 19% Seems sturdy, though May 12, 2017 I bought this bench to use with a regular piano. It is much too high, even on the lowest setting. It works only for my smallest piano students. The adjustment mechanism is finicky, and I have to flip the bench over on the floor to change the height. Seems sturdy, though. At first I was disappointed in the height January 14, 2017 At first I was disappointed in the height. I'm surprised that the lowest setting is higher than a normal piano bench. I moved the brackets on the non-adjustable end by using the outside screw holes in the seat for the outside screw holes in the bracket. Then made new holes for the outside holes in the bracket. Now it seems to be fine. This is also mentioned in one of the other reviews. These benches are much more comfortable than sitting on a hard chair October 17, 2016 I bought three of these - one for myself and two more for other musicians in the group I play with. These benches are much more comfortable than sitting on a hard chair, and offer several height adjustments. They are a fairly good item for the price. The only problems I found were that the tubes which rest on the floor to support the bench were not properly adjusted to lay flat on the floor, and the rubber caps on the ends of those tubes will fall off if the bench is moved without picking it up. Decent basically May 18, 2016 Looks nice, easy to set up but I don't think it's that great quality wise. Edges began cracking within weeks. Like other users have stayed, it is pretty small. go with another bench March 19, 2015 Very well packaged but poor quality control as one of the legs was bent a out 35 degrees which made sitting on it impossible as it would be very unstable. If you concerned about stability I would go with a more standard piano bench as I don't believe it would be very stable even with a straight leg. Good bench, but a little high January 6, 2014 The cushion is firm, but comfortable. Like some of the other reviews we thought even the low adjustment was high. If you are handy, you can un-screw the bracket (non-adjustable side) and re-use the outer holes for the inner screws and make a new pilot hole for the outer side of the bracket. When complete it is the perfect height. Because of the angled legs the low setting is much lower now and high is more than even a tall person would need. We have ours set to the middle setting now and I am 6'1". I was glad there was room to move the bracket, but I would have given it 5 stars if I didn't have to retrofit it. | 6% is good; however April 14, 2015 The height of the bench, which is adjustable, is good; however, the quality of the cushion is poor - it has little support and sinks in the moment a person sits on it. Not good for the back or playing for an extended period of time. Not the most solid bench and a little squeeky. March 24, 2014 The padding is decent and it's comfortable enough. The materials are a little cheap however and it squeaks a lot, so if you're recording in a studio you may want to find another place to sit. However, if you're just looking for a low-priced seat this will work. Incompetent Delivery Service January 7, 2014 So, I needed a good piano chair to sit on. I saw that this specific chair had good reviews and purchased it.However.. WORLD TOUR decided to use the MOST incompetent USPS delivery service and, as it turns out, the product came damaged. The knob that adjusts the height was half broken, so I had to use a bit of TAPE to put back the two pieces(found other piece lurking in packaging box) together.Other than the incompetent shopping.. the chair is pretty good. Couldn't give it 5 stars because of the horrid shopping. Just three heights may not do it for you. December 10, 2013 This is a good bench, the thing is, that it is too specific. If you don't have exactly one of the three heights provided, then you're out of luck.ON the plus side is easy to adjust and setup, also comfortable. Comfy but Not Fast July 25, 2013 It has a comfortable seat and seems stable and well-made. However, if you need to haul it around frequently, it takes a bit of time to set up and screw down or open up the screws that hold the moving stability bar on the bottom of the seat. Also, if you need to adjust the height, you have to remove the entire bolt assembly seen at the crossing point of the bars, and then select one of three holes that are only an inch or some apart from each other. So, not much selection there. Fine for shorter periods, no good for longer hours of playing November 27, 2012 The build is fine, the look is fine, but the cushion, the whole reason it is not just a wooden bench, leaves a bit to be desired. The cushion is cheap. It is comfortable for about an hour, and then quickly becomes uncomfortable.I'd be willing to pay another $30 for a bench with memory foam, but I've not seen such a thing. |
Two Star Reviews: | 7% OK Bench. May 29, 2016 This bench is ok. It's sturdy, not so comfortable and squeaks every time you sit on it. I do like the height adjustments. The chair too high for my 13 years old kid ... January 22, 2016 The chair too high for my 13 years old kid even me. No ways to adjust lower. very cheap material, only few buck you can get from YAMAHA way beter. Be care full under chair metal component no deburr ( VERY SHARP ) WILL BE HURT YOUR SELF. Two Stars February 5, 2015 Good and ample seating surface but legs were uneven on floor, orherwise a good product. Not made for shorter people or kids... at all January 20, 2015 The quality seems o.k. I really struggled with giving it 1 star because it is just so useless for us. Really it is made for taller people! On the lowest setting I cannot touch the floor. I actually can swing my legs like I am a kid on a tall seat! I am 5'4", my husband is 5'8" and he can touch the floor (again, on the lowest possible setting). Weird. We are not tall by any means but kids certainly cannot use it for piano practice. :/ It also will not adjust to the other settings because the notches to change heights are bent... not that we would ever need it, unless someone tall came over to hang out. | 1% Two Stars June 8, 2015 Bench is uneven and when it stands it's shaking. No clue how to make legs even. Not very stable or comfortable. If you play your keyboard or drums for ... October 3, 2014 Not very stable or comfortable. If you play your keyboard or drums for more than 20 minutes, then get something more stable and comfortable. Too short April 30, 2014 Disappointed that it does not adjust high enough too suit comfortable play. Not suitable for play. Do not buy this. Seams around cushion coming apart August 30, 2013 This looked great at first but it did not take long before the seams were coming out around the cushion. Disappointing. Good initial value, but did not hold up. May 20, 2013 Thickly and firmly padded, and very sturdy. Vinyl cover with no obvious flaws in upholstery. Height is adjustable by removing a screw/knob and reinserting in a different notch. At the $24 I paid it is a good value, no way is it worth the $34.99 list.Update Feb 2014: A small tear appeared about a month ago. As I have three kids ranging from eight to fourteen, I cannot rule out an accident, or deliberate sabotage (as a seven year old I poked several hundred holes in my Dad's vinyl recliner, with a Bic ball point pen), so if the small tear had stayed small I would have been OK. However, the tear is now eight inches long, one inch wide in the middle, and the fabric backing has failed completely exposing bare foam padding. Turns out that the vinyl cover is very, very thin material. Demerit to two stars. Damaged when received December 20, 2011 I am returning this item. When I received it, one of the bottom legs was bent so it will not sit straight (it rocks back and forth) so I am returning it and buying something different. It looked like it would have been a nice bench so I gave it two stars but I was very disappointed when I got it and it was already damaged. The packaging looked fine so it must have been bent when they packaged it... |
One Star Reviews: | 0% There are no reviews yet | 4% Please Be WARNED! December 30, 2015 I can not provide a review of the bench itself. I have not opened the box it arrived in. The first thing you see on the outside of the box is a PROP 65 Warning. The warning states "This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, or birth defects or other reproductive harm". When reviewing the item to order it there is no information regarding this potential for bodily harm. Had there been I would NOT have ordered it...who wants to risk getting cancer, be unable to have children or causing your unborn child to have birth defects ? In order to return the bench I will have to pay $12.08 out of my pocket. I do not feel I should have to pay to return since the item was not represented properly. comfortable, affordable July 9, 2015 Seller should have informed Buyers that the Keyboard Bench box has a small warning label "PROP 65 WARNING: This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, or birth defects or other reproductive harm." This important health information was not revealed at the Amazon site. Although living in NY, I care about these health issues, and would not have purchased it if stated. Therefore, I intend to return it unopened. Yes, the Keyboard Bench may be portable, comfortable, affordable, and sturdy. But, it is worth it at such a health risk?! My Back is KILLING ME. April 6, 2015 A Keyboard Bench is a long term investment that you can't afford shortcuts on. I learned this the hard way after purchasing the World Tour Bench. You will be sitting on this Bench every single day and it will not be comfortable in the long run. A lot of the best piano playing comes from a tenseless body, this bench will leave you incredibly tense even after just forty minutes of practice. Do yourself a favor. Don't buy this Bench. Buy something more expensive if it can get you comfort, especially if you intend on practicing every day. Your back, forearms, fingers, and future piano technique will thank you. This seat is CROOKED September 7, 2013 It felt uneven and so I put a leveler on it and sure enough it isn't even flat. Not only that, I ordered this and over a week later it did not arrive so I emailed amazon and they said they would send me another because it got lost in transit. They could have told me that. So 1 star for World Tour for selling uneven benches and making them in china where people work 16 hour days just to barely survive and 1 star for Amazon for losing the package before it even reaches ups and doing business with World Tour. I wish I just when to a friendly music store and got a bench even if it meant paying twice as much as this It wobbles June 5, 2013 The chair wobbles and is clearly cheaply made. I would suggest picking some other product. The price was too good to be true Lack of packaging damaged the box and item. December 28, 2012 There was no internal foam or packaging. The bench tore through the box during shipment and was damaged. Returned the item. |
