Five Star Reviews: | 85% Glad I tried this May 28, 2017 I read about rosehip oil while trying to find natural remedies for sun spots. I really enjoy this oil. You only need a little bit, it absorbs quickly and doesn't leave a greasy feel. It hasn't reduced my dark spots, but the little expression lines I was starting to get on my forehead have smoothed out and this gives such a beautiful glow to my skin (the glow reminds me of when I was a teenager, I'm turning 40 this year). Despite saying it is unscented but I do find there is a smell that reminds me of fish oil, but it dissipates quickly and doesn't linger. I store this in the fridge; not sure if that helps "keep" it, but I read that it should be stored this way. It has not changed the texture of the oil at all. Lastly, I have skin that freaks out at the sign of anything new, but my skin handled this well with no flare ups. Great for fine lines May 12, 2017 Beautiful Amber color compared to other brands I've tried, which means it is full of nutrients for your skin and isn't watered down. This is certified organic so I feel confident using it on my face and everywhere else on my body. I think this smells like chocolate but my friend thinks it smells like tea, so the smell is good and not fishy (which means the oil is going bad or is already bad) :)I've tried it on my under eye area because I have fine lines there, and after a night I've noticed some noticeable improvements that other brands of rosehip oils on Amazon couldn't do.I hope they would sell a larger bottle like 2/4oz one day! :) Actually real rosehip seed oil. June 14, 2016 I tried three brands and this was the only real one. Real rosehip seed oil should be a dark orange/amber and have a slight nutty smell. The other brands I tried clearly watered theirs down or substituted with a cheaper oil. See my pic and google it. The real stuff (this brand) works wonders. It removed a bad scar I had from a sunburn 3 years ago. Amazing. Excellent organic rosehip seed oil December 17, 2015 The oil works amazingly. Areas of flaky skin on my forehead disappeared. I only apply 1-2 drops of oil onto my face and 1 drop of oil onto the neck area. The oil by this company has an amber color and nutty smell, which are the characteristics of authentic rosehip seed oil. The oil is USDA certified organic, which is way better than organic without any certification. In addition, the bottle comes with tight seal and amber color to delay the oxidation process. The company's owner sent me an email with instruction on how to use the oil and thank you note. I appreciate the fact that the company cares about the experience with the oil. I am very happy with this purchase. I strongly recommend rosehip seed oil from this company. It works!!!! June 28, 2015 The Rose Hip oil is excellent. I was getting depressed with dark marks and pimples on my face. I'm so blessed that I tried it. My face is much clearer now. The dark marks have faded out. They are practically gone! October 19, 2016 This arrived in great packaging. It wasn't melted, which was surprising since I live in humid central FL. The package that is shown, once you open it there is another clear package with the actual shea butter inside. I just snipped the corner of the inside bag, and used what I needed. Whipped up some hair creme with coconut oil, shea butter, lavender essential oil, distilled water and some humectant (vegetable glycerin). Works great, and a little goes a long way. I also put some shea butter in a little lip balm container to use as a lip conditioner and it is wonderful. I've tried some on my face as a nighttime moisturizer, but with my oily sensitive skin, shea butter was a bit too oily for me. The smell is that of shea butter. It's natural, nutty smell, but I like it. I love this product. I will definitely be purchasing it again! Four Star Reviews: | 8% Great product...questionable packaging August 10, 2017 Product is outstanding, I mix it with vaniply to help manage my sons eczma. He always says how much better his skin feels after applying and I can see improvement in the look of his skin as well.However, the recent purchase came with a broken bottle leaked over my order and by the time I was able empty the remaining oil in an old bottle I had it was half gone. I was very upset due to the amount of money I paid for the product paired with how quickly we go through a bottle of this while treating my sons eczema. I will need to find another avenue to purchase through going forward. Received a bad batch? April 18, 2017 Have purchased 2 bottles of this oil, first bottle was amazing, was light on my skin and made it incredibly soft. Before I ran out I purchased a second bottle, sadly the second bottle had a noticibly different smell, almost like a burnt pastry (best was I can describe it) and it wouldn't be an issue, but it completely makes me break out. I don't have break out prone skin or and blemish problems. Not sure what happened between the first and second bottle, or maybe I just received a bad batch. Either way a bummer! Helpful usage and instructions!!!! March 13, 2017 The oil can be used in the following ways. Scars, apply it lightly over area 3-6 times a day, lightly coat and allow 5 minutes to absorb, then rub it in. The rub can be gentle or more pressure. Facial application, put 2-5 drops on clean hands, rub together, then pat both hands on face, allow 2-5 minutes to absorb, then rub in evenly. Body, can be applied to dry/flakey areas, hair, and bacterial/fungal irritations. Overall a good quality oil. GENUINE! High quality product. Happy to find and great price. November 16, 2015 Finally! The real deal! I went through a lot of researching trying to find a true Rosehip SEED oil that was both organic and cold pressed. SO much "snake oil" out there! Rip offs. This is authentic. It does for me, most of what it is supposed to. It does NOT smell fishy, which would be an indicator that it had spoiled. It has a sort of hemp seed, earthy, even a tad linseed oil to it and a nice golden color. I do have to admit that I am someone who dislikes any kind of oily scent, because of which, I will not use some of the most beneficial moisturizers out there. Just a personal quirk. Great packaging, fast shipping, everything it should be. DO keep in the pouch it comes in and refrigerate! I love this as a nail and cuticle treatment! So far, I like it! March 30, 2015 I bought this oil because it boasts skin regenerating properties of omega oils, Vit A and Vit C, which as I understand, helps to turn over skin cells and improves collagen production. I have a dark spot that has developed on my leg, and has seemingly caused random shooting pains from the area on a daily basis for months. So I started applying this oil to it. I have only applied it about 4 times so far. While there is no visible change in it's appearance, I have noticed that the pain has completely stopped, and it occasionally itches. The itch goes away after I scratch it. I'm no doctor, but in my experience itching usually means healing.Some people have complained about the smell of the oil. It does not smell that great, but it's not a problem for me. I've always been able to tolerate bad tastes or smells if there is a valuable benefit. The smell doesn't last long anyway, and it's mild. I only notice it if I stick my nose in it. The oil absorbs very quickly and does not leave me feeling slimy. I am also using it on my face, and the back of my hands. I received the product promptly and the packaging is very nice. I am happy with the product so far. I would order again from this company.I would have given it 5 starts except that I have only started to use it, and the long term benefits have not yet been manifested. Time will tell. It may deserve 5 stars but I cannot yet tell. Very nice oil !! March 28, 2015 So i have dry skin, and I don't think it helped moisturize much for me. I bought it for the vitamin A content to just help my skin tone over all. It's a dry oil, and if you have acne or scars then this oil can transform your face, because I saw pictures of a reviewer on makeup alley, and I could not believe what it did for her face, nothing short of amazing. You can try this if you have dry skin and it will give you a more glowy complexion but I have to use a moisturizer with it for sure. There was a study on this oil in 1988 on twenty women between the ages of 25 and 35 with extensive premature aging to their skin. Their skin was wrinkled, and had sunspots from overexposure to the sun. After four months of applying this to their skin daily, their wrinkles and sunspots had almost completely disappeared, and their skin had a fresher healthier look. This is because rose hip seed oil is suppose to regenerate the skin from trans-retinoic acid found in the oil. I have not used this long enough to see if this will help the crows feet that are around my eyes. I don't have deep lines more like fine lines but am hoping this will help gradually with that. | 9% I'm so glad I did May 2, 2017 I bought this product not really knowing much about shea butter but after reading the reviews i went for it. I'm so glad I did! My natural hair and body is so thankful. It leaves my hair every moisturized yet does not weight it down. It also hydrates my skin for hours without leaving it overly shiny. The one down side to this product is the smell... It does not smell great AT ALL and will need to but some kind of essential oils in your mix to mask it. Nice April 17, 2017 I recently started a drug for my extremely acne-prone skin, and wanted something really moisturizing, but that also rated lower on the considering scale so that it didn't break me out. This is good quality and is really nice in all my DIY face creams, but also alone. As other people have said, it doesn't smell great. But definitely not a deal breaker. My only real complaint is the packaging- which is messy to use. It would be easier in a tub. It comes in a resealable bag which is nice; however i plan on purchasing a container so ... March 28, 2017 I received my Shea Butter yesterday and it smells absolutely devine. I know I will need to get more as this is a bit smaller than I anticipated. I am going to make some body butter for me and body butter for my husband because he has psoriasis really bad. So, I am hoping that this will work. If it does come out as I hope it does, I will be ordering more of this Shea Butter but hopefully they sell larger sizes Wish you got a little bit more for your money. March 6, 2017 I'm in love. I use it for lotions and a homemade makeup balm. They work wonderfully and my acne has even gotten better since using the makeup balm. My only complaint is that I feel like you don't get much for the price, especially since I go through it so fast. (I bought by the 16 Oz bag.) It definitely doesn't feel like a pound. Three Star Reviews: | 3% Be careful April 2, 2017 I bought it about a month ago and the first week i tried using a little bit all over my face, and i broke out like crazy! Big cystic pimples on my face around my mouth, and my forehead. I do have acne prone skin and a combination skin. I read somewhere that it is not too great for acne prone skin but i decided to try anyways. Not sure if my skin was purging due to this foreign oil on my skin. I used clay mask to calm the acne down, now I am trying to put the oil on again but in veeery small amount, I drip it on a Qtip then apply on ONLY acne scars/dark spots. Not all over my face or on active acne. Didn't work for me August 21, 2016 I bought this to use it around my mouth to see if it faded away my uneven skin tone around that area...but I keep having to stop using it after 2 days because it makes me break out for some reason. Once I stop using it, my skin is back to normal. Wish it worked for me but I guess my semi-dry sensitive skin isn't made for it. Skin Care December 20, 2015 I have only been useing this for a few days i dont really see a different in my skin maybe if i keep useing it i will like it Yeah...maybe.... November 20, 2015 Maybe I haven't being using this oil for too long to say it works or not. Been using this for 2 months, every other day or so. My skin is still trying to adjust because its very sensitive (severe eczema but not on face). I only have a few small red and dry spots on my face. It's pretty clear and not that much huge pores noticeable for my age of skin (37yrs old.) After showering, I add a few drops on my face and seems to moisturize but sometimes my skin still has some dry patches. Could just be because I didnt add enough where it's really dry. I do have combo skin. Can get pretty shiny at the end of the day and dry after I shower (I use soft water). Maybe I will have to wait a little longer to notice a difference but so far I'd say it works ok. The only flaw is that it can get a bit greasy and when that happens, I just use a tissue and gently pat off the excessive oil. I dont think I will use this under foundation just because it still can dry out certain spots, gets very patchy and then looks cakey. I've been using cervave before I add foundation. I mean I would give it a shot and try it. It's a hit or miss depending on your skin. Has potential, but be careful if you have even semi-sensitive skin. November 15, 2015 I have to give this only 3 stars. I had high hopes for this as I am trying to even out my skin tone and remove my hyperpigmentation. (I'm aware that this would take a while) I had an adverse/allergic reaction to this oil. I did read that this may happen in people with sensitive skin, although, I didn't believe I had sensitive skin but I guess I must. I stopped using this oil (didn't throw this away as I am hoping to use it with a carrier oil) and am waiting for my skin rash to go away. It was all over my face, on my forehead, cheeks, neck and now, I have most of it gone but there are still strong rashes near my mouth, next to where my left "laugh line" would be up to the side of my left nostril and a stream down from the right corner of my mouth, to the mid point of my chin. It has been two weeks already so I'm hoping this will clear up by Thanksgiving. No major change in eczema April 5, 2015 I haven't noticed any real benefits or change in eczema while using this. Melted nicely, whipped beautifully, incorporated easily with the other oils in my recipe.This shea butter has a very smooth texture, but I found it to be a bit crumblier than other shea butters I've used. Came very nicely packaged, and upon opening it was clear that this was a high quality product. I found it to be very moisturizing on skin and lips. Mild nutty scent, not overpowering.Minus one star because I think it's a bit pricey for what you get- I mean, I didn't think that this was so different from other brands that it was worth paying twice as much for.Minus an additional star because both the batch of body butter and the batch of lip balm I made with this brand became grainy after being stored for a week. Everything was still entirely useable, the grains dissolve and absorb right in, but the texture wasn't as divine. to the point that the trial formulas I did for soaps and lotions could not eliminate the bad smell and the grainy feeling made i May 5, 2015 This didn't fulfill my expectations. I understand that this natural product will have slightly different characteristics in different batches. Some of the reviews and comments do mention variations in color and I bought it knowing that I will not have the exact same experience as other people had. The texture was extremely grainy, color was more on the light brown and the smell was overpowering, to the point that the trial formulas I did for soaps and lotions could not eliminate the bad smell and the grainy feeling made it nearly impossible to scoop it out. Not easy butter style as I was expecting. I probably used 2 ounces of it in the trials, but will not be using it anymore in production formulas. Not great for direct application onto the skin January 27, 2015 To start, I don't use Shea butter mixed into other home made cosmetics. I apply it directly on my skin (face & body). That being said, this review might have a bias that doesn't pertain to your use of the Shea. With that out of the way, I'm not a huge fan of this butter. I wanted to try it because of all the amazing reviews. And I must agree that is is very creamy to the touch. However, because the Shea doesn't come directly in a jar, I spent some time dicing it up and putting it in a container. When trying to apply it directly to my skin, it is very slippery and it hard to turn into a gel or liquid state for spreading.
