Super quality perfect for hard wood flooring
February 9, 2017
Super quality perfect for hard wood flooring. Paid a little more than I wanted but it was worth it. Thick, but not too thick. I put it under a very nice natural jute rug and it made all the difference in the world as far as a nice "soft" walk.
Great non slip mat!
February 1, 2017
This is definitely as advertised - totally non slip. I'm using it under a cotton/poly braided rug on the wood floor in the hallway. Before I had a chance to cut it to the proper dimensions, I had it on my ceramic tile in the kitchen. Same result - no slipping. It is good and thick. It was packaged nice and tight and I was worried there would be major creases. It was folded, not rolled. It flattened out nicely in a day or so. My cats can no longer take a running start and crash into the rug, sending it flying and flipping everywhere. They are not happy. I am!
Comfort A, Grip to floor A-, Grip to throw rug B-
May 5, 2016
I bought this pad to cut up and use for the Jelly bean throw rugs (~2' x 3') I bought for the kitchen. The bottom rubber side grips the floor well and the top coarse side grips my throw rugs well enough for me.... but my room mate is heavy footed and he manages to side the throw rugs off the pad with in 1-2 days. The pads are thin, but they make a huge difference in comfort and I am over all very glad I got this. If fact the thinness is sort of a plus since the throw rug drapes over it and it looks like it is just one piece. It makes the thin washable kitchen rug feel much more substantial and comfortable while cooking and I'm a plus size woman, so that says a lot about how much comfort these pads provideI am in the process of hand sewing 4" diagonal elastic corners to each of my rugs to hold the rug and pad together better ( room mate proofing). That is a simple and fast fix which I would probably have to do once I get a dog again anyways
Best Pad Ever
June 1, 2015
I have a difficult rug that bunches. I've tried it in two different rooms thinking maybe less use would reduce the bunching, to no avail. This rug pad arrived and looked very similar to the one I was using. I put it under the rug and my rug HAS NOT BUDGED since. I have no idea why this rug pad is so awesome but IT IS.
Great quality and easy to trim
March 16, 2015
I ordered the 8'x11' pad for use with a rug on a hardwood floor. Very happy with the quality, packaging and shipping. When I unpacked the rug there was no odor. The pad came folded and did have some creases when unpacked. I flattened it out on the floor for an hour or so and then laid the rug on it even though it was still creased. The weight of the rug flattened out the remaining creases. Not an issue at all.The size of the pad is exactly as described - 8'x11' in my case. I did have to trim the rug for my particular application. It was easy to trim using a pair of decent kitchen scissors. I trimmed it to be 6" smaller than my rug, therefore allowing a 3" margin all around my rug. This worked well but on reflection a 2" margin would have been a little better.
Big Fan of this rug pad
January 28, 2014
My husband and I live in a duplex where our son's nursery shares a wall with our neighbor's master bedroom. We have hardwood floors throughout the house and we wanted something that would help absorb sound, but also prevent our carpet from shifting and pulling up while we moved around. This certainly did the trick. It is thick, so be careful when setting it up near doors. Our son's door didn't close, so we had to cut it, but it wasn't that big of a problem for us. We were pleased to discover that there wasn't an odor when we opened the bag and laid it out. I was half way expecting to have some kind of gross plastic or musty smell, but to our surprise nothing! Best part about the rug pad....it absorbs a ton of sound.

CAN'T PULL THIS RUG OUT FROM UNDER ANYONE ANYMORE
October 23, 2017
We bought a rug online that we really liked but when it showed up, it was thinner than we expected and didn't really have a solid backing on it. We were trying to figure out how to return it when I bought this rug pad. This pad saved our rug's life. We put it down and it was a magically transformation. Our rug doesn't bunch. It doesn't slide. It's softer to walk on. It totally turned it around. This thing is great. It's worth the money. If you need a rug pad. I'd buy this one.

September 12, 2017
This was the perfect rug pad for our 9' x 12' west elm rug. It noticeably adds extra cushion beneath the rug and helps keep it from bunching up and moving around. Even though our rug is a very large size, without extra rubber grip, it would still bunch up because we have hardwood floors. After putting this under our rug, we have had no issues with the rug slipping or bunching up in certain places.
I Love these Rug Pads!!
July 28, 2017
I purchased 2 of the Mohawk Home Dual Surface Rug Pad, 3'x5', Multi...pads to go under the 3'x5' throw rugs that are on the sides of my bed. There was very little trimming that had to be done as they measured out so well. Also it is nice to step out of bed to the soft cushioned floor instead of the cold wooden one. I wish I could purchase this somewhere local, but unfortunately no one carries it.
High Quality & Does The Job
June 13, 2017
This rug pad is holding my 3 ft x 13 ft runner in place very securely. In addition to keeping the rug in place, It feels just right underneath -- making the rug feel plush, but not so thick that you feel like you have to step up onto the rug. It was also easy enough to cut thru the padding with a large scissor (as I had to trim the full width by 6 inches). While I can't speak to its durability, I'm very pleased so far.

May 19, 2017
Holy cow, this thing is awesome. Much heavier and more durable than I was expecting. Makes my rug feel so plush and comfortable against my hardwood floors - better than brand new carpet! The rubberized bottom is amazing, and completely prevents the rug from sliding on top of it. We ran cords between the rug and this mat, and you can hardly feel them. Great price compared to home improvement store equivalents, with high quality and quick arrival.
So comfortable!
October 16, 2016
High quality rug pad for large area rugs. This rug pad is made from synthetic materials (e.g. polyester) and is quite plush feeling underfoot. I was looking for a rug pad that didn't have any non-slip grip to it because in the past I have had rug pads that either melted to hard surfaces underneath or degraded into powder after years of use. Seriously, if you have hardwood, tile, or laminate floors, DO NOT purchase those cheaper, polyurethane foam carpet pads that all of the carpet stores and hardware stores carry. They will RUIN your hard floors. If you can, spend the extra money to get a carpet pad that is made without a non-slip grip. If you are placing the rug and pad under furniture, this is especially important. The furniture will keep the rug from moving, no need for the extra grip. Overall, I recommend this product (or any other felt-pad only carpet pads) for area rugs in your home that are sitting on hard floors.

Love this thing
September 18, 2017
This was exactly what I was looking for! As a novice to rugs and hardwood floors, I did not know plush felt pads were a thing. We got this since the bottom of our area rug had sticky residue from cheep slip pads. This did the trick. Protects our floors and adds plush cushion. We were all impressed by the new life this gives our rugs. We bought another one for another are a rug. Highly recommend!
This is a great pad at a great price
August 20, 2017
This is a great pad at a great price. We use this for a very old, large, expensive oriental rug and it is perfect. The pad protects the floor and protects the rug, and creates a nice cushion when we walk on it. This is very inexpensive compared to other pads of similar quality. When it arrived it had some wrinkles in it, but they smooth out once the rug is in place.
Perfect

Love it. Just the right amount of padding and will protect my floor. Well made and in the USA. No smell. Doesn't shed. Easy to trim. What's not to like??

100% Felt Rug Pad - SAFE for all floors - Extra Thick - 7' x 10' - Add Cushion, Comfort and Protection Like this very much for area rug on my wooden floors. I got another brand that was supposed to be non-slip for rug on wooden floor but it had one side that was very scratchy. It would have damaged the wood if that side were down. If that side were up against the rug, it would have been too harsh for the oriental rug (in my opinion) and would have worn the hand knotting. This is just right. Possibly for a very small area rug (something like 1 x 2 or 2 x 3) it might slip under a running dog, . Maybe not. It is thick enough to give a nice feel under foot. I am comfortable the rug is protected from excessive wear. I also like that it was cut slightly larger than the described size. For some reason many rug pads are undercut. I had no difficulty cutting this down with an ordinary scissors.

Definetly thick !
August 2, 2017
Pad is thick & area rug sides "sticks up" a bit ! I did tripped a little when walking onto rug.... darn.... so I need to be careful ! Maybe I need to trim pad edge/side a little.... not sure ( pad is about 1/2" shorter on sides). The pad stays put... does not "gather/wrinkle" like the cheaper pads do !
Well made and works great on linoleum and carpet.
April 16, 2017
using it on two rugs. Bathroom woven cloth on linoleum=works great.Bedroom runner on carpet=works great. Is VERY thick so it does raise the height of the rug you use it under.Seems to be very well made, not at all cheap quality.

We used this for a 5 x 8 area rug on hardwood floor. It keeps the rug in place just fine, and makes the rug a cushiony place you wouldn't mind sitting down for a while. We haven't yet removed everything and cleaned, etc. so I can't say for sure how it treats the wood below, but the combination of the non-slip and hefty thickness of the pad do make it feel really nice both walking around and sitting in the room.
Wire within
January 29, 2015
I normally don't write reviews. I felt it necessary to write one for this item. This rug padding works great. My rug never slips, it's wonderful. However today, my husband snagged his sock on something sticking out of the rug from the padding. I got down there and looked, and deep within the padding was a piece of metal. It took me a good 5 minutes of pulling and prying to get it out. It broke, hence the small piece, before I could pull it out. Please, be aware of this when you put your pad down for the first time. I never took that good of a look at it (but never thought that something like this could happen). Just be aware.
I am very pleased with it
November 30, 2014
As of 12/14 only been using it about a week. But so far it is truly living up to its purpose. The rubber backing really holds the pad steadfast to the laminate floor. Was a bit skeptical about buying it because it wasn't described as having a "waffle type design" applied to the rubber back as one of our other pads has. This one has smaller, rectanglar size cells on the rubber back. BUT so far it really holds the pad in place.I am very pleased with it. PLUS the rug I placed on top of it does not slide at all due to the texture of the surface it has. This was a good choice and I am glad I purchased it. It is truly 9 x 12 so you may have to trim it to prevent an edge from showing under your rug.
Unconventional usage
January 24, 2014
I use this on my bed. I have a memory-foam mattress topper. It was constantly sliding around on top of the actual mattress and pulling the bottom sheet off. So I put this pad between the mattress and topper and it does a great job holding the two together. The only thing that I don't like is the "felt" material is very scratchy. Obviously it needs to be textured to hold the bottom of the rug, but it's a really industrial material and isn't comfortable to touch. I always feel like I touched fiberglass insulation after I've handled it and wore gloves the last time I did. If it was on the floor and crept out from under a carpet, I wouldn't want to step on it.

Anchoring the edges with furniture only made it worse. This pad does not completely stop the movement ...
October 31, 2017
Works well for Rug on top of CarpetThis pad has 2 surfaces for different usage configurations. For my application, the coarse side holds the rug in place on top of a low medium pile carpet. The rug is in a busy walkway/play area and had plagued me with its bunching and moving using a different type of non-slip pad. Anchoring the edges with furniture only made it worse. This pad does not completely stop the movement but it is markedly better.Note: this pad arrives folded. It will take a few days for the fold marks to flatten out and your area rug to lie flat.
Does the job, plush but is a bit oversized.
March 28, 2017
This rug pad arrived on time and fit the area rug but it was a little big. I had to trim it down and in some places you can still see the rug pad I had to go back and trim it back a couple of times. Other than though the rug pad works nicely and it does provide more comfort. It does make it more plush that if I didn't have one. Also, the rug has not moved or does not move. My rug was a 6x9.
Good Quality
March 24, 2017
Comfortable, non-slip under a Safiveh shag rug. Easy to cut to size. Make sure to cut a bit smaller than the rug, so that you don't raise up the corners and trip on them!
Quality rug pad
March 15, 2017
Pad's only flaw was that two edges were not "square", i.e., not parallel to the other edges. Thus, mark pad carefully prior to trimming to fit rug. Otherwise high quality and an excellent value.
Good pad and grip for area rugs
January 11, 2017
Ours shipped quickly and was easy to unpack. It was folded, not roller, which caused some crease bumps that went away with the weight of a large rug (8x10). It measured a couple inches shy of 8 feet, and an inch wider than 10, but that's close enough for our use. It grips the hardwood well even with kids sliding into the edges. The pad thickness is just enough to provide a noticeable cushion, but not so much that it makes it awkward to step on the perimeter where the pad, rug, and floor meet. Don't expect the same padding comfort as a 6 or 8 lb carpet pad, that's not what it is meant to be.
Thick but...
December 21, 2016
Seems like a great pad but it's a little larger than a 5x8 which is kind of a pain because I ordered a 5x8 rug & it shows around 2 edges. I know I can cut it but it's very thick so practically impossible to do with scissors. Will probably have to use a razor blade but I don't want to damage our wood floor beneath so now I have to find a space to lay out the pad where I can cut through without damaging what's underneath or find a large piece of cardboard to put underneath and will only be able to cut small sections at a time.

Thumbs up
October 7, 2017
I had to cut off an inch on the length and width so that it wouldn't stick out from underneath my rug. It was very easy to trim with sharp kitchen sheers. I would suggest putting the softer side down (I have brand new wood floors so I didn't want to take a chance scuffing it up). The pad definitely makes my thin rug just even alittle softer to step on and I feel better knowing that my floor is protected. Good quality felt and it shipped super quick.
Good Protection for your Antique Rugs and Hardwood Floors
September 5, 2017
I finally got a proper rug pad for my handmade kilm. I had used an inexpensive white rubber honey comb pad and it transferred its pattern onto my hardwood floors. Even after repeated cleaning the old rubber rug pad impression remained on the floor. The new felt pad was a little difficult to cut with a scissors because of the thickness but I'm sure a sharp box cutter with protection underneath when you cut would work better. My rug looks great now.
Thick, rugged pad, DO NOT plan to trim it...
August 14, 2017
Good pad, minimal rug slipping. Made from repurposed fiber scraps. NOTE: The pad material is thick and rugged, making it very difficult to trim. If you try to trim it, you will have a fairly ragged edge. I had considered buying a larger pad and cutting it for my two runners, but that is not a good way to save a few dollars.
Worth it
May 10, 2017
I bought this to go under a pretty cheap thin rug, it did add some nice cushion. It's NOT like sinking into a cloud of softness or anything exciting, but it definitely better than those thin no slide pads for not much more cost.
Great rug pad and the price is great
April 6, 2017
Great rug pad and the price is great. Compared to retail stores this is HALF of what you would normally pay. The cushioning is also excellent.
Compared to retail and other sites, good value for what is probably the same exact product.

Would not buy again.
July 14, 2017
I thought at first this would work but I am still straightening the rug at least 5 times a day. I wouldn't buy again.
Not for use on high traffic area or use with furniture as anchor.
April 18, 2017
Seems to allow the rug to move around more than I would want. We haven't tripped but I fix it several times a week. It is on a wood floor at our front door. Otherwise I like the thickness. I do have kids running around playing so I am not ruling out that fact. I might have to replace it since I worry it will cause more problems on the wood floor.
It is thick which will work great in the kitchen where we are using it
February 26, 2017
This came folded in a box so there are folds throughout the pad. It's being used for an area rug on laminated flooring. The rug still slips all over the place and can't be returned as it was cut to size. I will buy double stick carpet tape and hopefully it will stop the slipping. It is thick which will work great in the kitchen where we are using it.
Deep creases and stiff wrinkles
February 7, 2016
This rug pad arrives folded, not rolled. I have had it laying flat with a heavy wool rug on top of it for several days. There a very stiff creases creating an over all, high-profile bumpy surface. I will have to research how to resolve this issue. Overall the quality seems very high, and there is no slipping of the rug. I also ordered this rug pad in a 6'x9' size and have not had the same problem.
Surprised it was slippery on hardwood
January 6, 2016
This product is thick, one side is felt and the other side is a "non-slip" rubber surface. I was impressed at first but then realized that the rug ( a woven wool rug with woven backing, not rubber) and pad were sliding around on our hardwood floor. Purchased for a 4 x 6 area rug in our foyer. I found I was constantly having to replace and reposition it. I purchased another 8 x 10. I haven't used it, but hope because it is bigger it will work better under our new rug. I will be glad to update my comments once it is in use.

My three area rugs still slides on top of this rug pad. :( same area rug problem with more cushion :(
January 5, 2017
This rug pad does provides a cushion and nice thickens to my area rugs, but my area rug still slides constantly on top of it, I also tried this in my carpet, and the same problem, the rug slides on top of the rug pad or the carpet, and the same in the tile floor, the problems is not as bad as before I put this rug pad on all three of my rugs, but the problem continues. One thing that was nice, is that you can cut it to the size you want, but for me the main problem continues, the area rugs slides on top of this rug pad, sad face, :(

December 13, 2016
I purposely chose this dual surface pad with a rubbery side for being able to dance on my rug over hardwood floor. The rubbery side hardly moves, but my rug shifts position at the end of the dance (about an inch after one hour). The slight movement does not bother me. In fact, I am happy that the rug pad does what is expected by holding my rug in place. The only downside is that the rug pad leaves something powdery on the surface of my hardwood floor such that the floor becomes very slippery. I am afraid to continue leaving the rubbery rug pad on my hardwood floor. Now, I am using the rug pad with the rubbery side facing my rug, and moving to a wall-to-wall carpeted room for my dancing routine.
Thick, soft.....and a little too big
September 20, 2016
I ordered this pad as I bought a new rug for the tile floor. The kids love to play on the new rug and so I wanted to minimize any injuries.Came rolled tight and wrapped in plastic. Pretty standard for shipping this type of item.Once unpacked and unrolled, I laid it out on the floor. I rolled the rug over it and the pad was at least a foot larger in width. So I marked the pad, took the rug off, and cut it where it needed to be as to the size I ordered. Put the rug back on and was in business. The pad is realistically better for on carpet, or on top of a no skid protector. Straight on the tile filler and it will slip around. Other than that, it provides ample pad as so my kids do not bonk their head on a hard surface!Pros:SoftCons:Comes too bigDoes not have a no slip side
Well made, fits perfectly under 8x10 rug without cutting, but not very soft
August 18, 2016
Honestly, I am so confused by so many of the reviews on here. Based on all the reviews I read, my take away was that when I received this Mohawk rug pad, it would most likely be two things: 1) sized wrong and most likely have to be cut to size 2) make my area rug extremely padded and comfy. After receiving and using this product, both descriptions couldn't be more off for my example. Regarding the first issue, I didn't have that problem at all, the pad came folded in a large box, but was perfectly square and fit near identically to my 8x10 carpet. It was just a little shorter (maybe half an inch) on all sides, making it fit perfectly underneath and going the entire length of the rug without being seen along the edges. No one would know it is there. Absolutely no cutting was necessary. HOWEVER, the more important second issue and why I spent the extra money on this instead of the thinner foam pads I usually get was because of the claimed added comfort that this would give my area rug. I am by no means a novice to rugs, as we have hardwood and several rugs around our house, mostly 8x10 and 5x7, ranging from expensive all wool to shag and low pile rugs. This pad provided a "little" bit of extra comfort, but not much, and certainly not twice the price level of comfort. I sincerely doubt anyone would confuse this rug as being much more expensive as others have stated. The problem is that the pad is a very solid and rough compressed felt. I almost feel that it is wrong to call it padding, because that would insinuate that it is soft and has give, like a pillow or something else. This is not squishy felt you find in a craft store, but a thick almost denim like material. The bottom has a rubber grip to prevent it from sliding and to also not scratch up the floors. Construction is solid, but it is NOT soft, or as others have said: plush, heavenly, luxurious, etc. I honestly don't know what they are talking about, whether they have an older version that is softer, or if it is all just relative and we have a difference in opinion, but I can't see how anyone would use those adjectives with this pad. My thinking was that this would be similar to carpet padding underneath wall to wall carpet that truly ads comfort, albeit much thinner. Not so, this is nothing like the carpet padding material that they put underneath wall-to-wall carpeting. Some have claimed that this material falls apart, again, something I would expect on a true felt type material, but I couldn't imagine this falling apart under normal wear and use. You could easily drag furniture around on top of it without it ripping.I would say this ads a true 1/4" height to the carpet, but is hardly noticeable, and feels maybe 25% softer (if I'm being generous). It looks to be durable, I enjoy the no slip padding underneath, and was pleased that it was 100% perfectly sized and perfectly square. However, it wasn't very soft and only added minor comfort. For the price, it was okay, but not great. I deducted two stars solely because of the lack of perceived comfort. I understand that added comfort is a relative description, so others may obviously disagree. My wife and I both, however, came to the same conclusion. This product is being used on a 8x10 medium pile shag area rug. I have not tried this on our thick pile wool rug since the pile is so thick, I doubt you would feel this at all underneath (plus, that rug doesn't really need added plush). I will update this review if the pad scratches up the floor, moves around, or degrades over time. I am also holding out very slim hope that maybe it "puffs up" over time and becomes a little softer, but I sincerely doubt that will happen.
not very soft, but non-slip is good
April 20, 2016
I was expecting this thing to be softer than it actually was. I got this for my rug so I can sit on my knees or just normally on the rug comfortably. I'm not so sure I can do that, even with this rug pad. Also, I purchased mine from Premier Rug Pads, LLC instead of Amazon since it was cheaper. However, the pad was cut 1 inch shorter than the stated length (5 feet, 11 inches instead of 6 feet). One side is rubber (non-slip), and another side has a coated synthetic fiber material that is high-friction so it will stick to your rug. I put mine on hardwood floor and it does not slip at all.

April 18, 2016
I don't know, it doesn't seem hold the rug in place as tightly as I'd hoped, stays in the same place on the carpet though well enough and the padding is comfortable. I'll get some carpet tape to hold the rug in place better and at least the carpet tape won't be attached to my carpet to leave residue, just will attach it to the pad and that will probably get the results I wanted. Pad cuts easily enough as well.

Pad arrived timely. The description stated it was extra thick, but based on comparison with pads from two other supplier this pad was not as thick or as plush. Beware, the 6x9 rug pad is not the same thickness and quality as the 9x12 and 5x7
July 1, 2017
Beware, the 6x9 rug pad is not the same thickness and quality as the 9x12 and 5x7. Both sides were soft felt and was flimsy versus the other sizes I received had one side with a smooth finished and other side was soft felt, instructions say to put soft side toward the floor. The 6x9 size was the same both sides, just seems like a big piece of felt. I called Amazon, their response was that I can return for a refund. Sure of course, but such a hassle to remove table and benches, pull up rug and pad, find a box to fit the pad and return. Too much work being 38 weeks pregnant, i guess I'll just have to live with this pad for now. It's not terrible, just different than the other sizes I had received.
it adds thickness which is good
May 14, 2017
its okay but rug seems to move more with it. it adds thickness which is good
Not cushy enough for us.
January 24, 2016
Pad is good quality but I purchased it to try to add some cushion to my shag rug. The ad said this was an "extra thick" pad but it didn't seem to make it more cushy at all. I agree with others who say it's pretty slippery as well. I ended up purchasing a thicker softer stickier pad at my local carpet store which was much cushier and worked better for my situation. Of course now with my cushier pad my rug sits higher off the floor and will be a trip hazard.

Sticks to wood floor, but rug slips off
June 16, 2017
So this is a mixed review. I bought two of these for my runners and as they stay very well on the my wood floor, the carpet runners slide completely off all the time. The carpet does not stick on the felt part of this product. I have unfortunately thrown away the packaging so I am stuck with them. This is a shame as I have bought this brand before for larger and smaller rugs and have never had a problem. As I would recommend this product due to past experiences, my suggestion is keep the packaging just in case.
Doesn't keep your rug in place!
January 6, 2017
This pad will stay in place on the floor (one is on tile and one is on hardwoods) but the rug on top of it moves if the wind blows or if a dog farts. I will now have to get double sided tape to keep the rug on the pad which is kind of annoying.
Packaging the same but the product is clearly different.
November 23, 2015
I have ordered these in the past and they work well. I ordered 2 of the 8 foot runners for a long runner rug and as you can see by the picture one of them are brown and the other is not. Which really isn't that big of a deal since its under the rug however it's not as wide either. The packaging label is exactly the same which makes no sense to me.
We recently discovered that the pad turns brown and 'bleeds' ...
July 26, 2015
We recently discovered that the pad turns brown and 'bleeds' in to the rug if it gets wet. We have a light colored rug from Restoration Hardware and after a water spill dried brown we couldn't figure out why (we thought the nanny may have spilled tea not water). It happened a second time and we still couldn't figure it out. So we tested it with a white towel and sure enough the pad turns brown when it gets wet. Definitely not to be used with a light color rug unless you;re 100% sure it will never get wet.
Definitely Not Non-slip
January 25, 2015
I got this for our hallway rug because it's nice and thick, so I thought it would give some cushion to an area we're walking over all the time. It does provide some cushioning, but that really doesn't matter since we constantly have to readjust the rug! The rug doesn't stick to the pad and the pad doesn't stick to the floor. They slide all over our hallway.
NOT working for me! However....the quality is good.
September 13, 2014
I read the reviews and based on them I felt this would work in holding my area rugs in place on wood flooring. It is a step better than no rug pad - BUT - the rug shifts off the pad all the time. It lifts the rug up high enough (giving a nice bit of cushion - mind you) that if you kick the rug on the side - as in dragging your feet along - the rug moves off the pad a bit. I'm always 'fixing' the rug back to the pad. The pad sticks to the wood flooring pretty good. It is the rug that won't stick well to the pad! NOT dragging my feet at home is not an option - if a person cannot drag their feet in the privacy of their home something is wrong!I'm thinking of putting double-sided tape between the rug and the pad. NOT a great thing to have to do. I admit defeat though......looks like I need some double-sided tape!Maybe this working right is dependent on the 'type' of backing that the rug has? Not sure about this. With other rugs on my wood flooring I once tried the 'waffle-weave' type that is sold in places like Walmart and after a year or so the rubber stuck to my wood floor leaving residue to clean off. I know that wasn't good for my wood floor. I need definite non-skid rug backing on my rugs and unfortunately that limits quality and design.I wouldn't recommend this because it's hit or miss whether it'll work for the next person.Thank you.

Very Thin!
February 18, 2017
Very thin. More of an anti-slip pad than an actual cushion pad.
I like the cushion on this pad but it came too ...
January 12, 2017
I like the cushion on this pad but it came too big. It sticks out the sides of my 8 x 10 rug and looks tacky. It also a very strong scent, like a factory, and stunk up my room for months. They need to cut the pad to be just a little smaller than 8 x 10. It also isn't very symmetrical so the dimensions are off. I wanted to return it but didn't because it's so bulky and didn't want to have to deal with the hassle.
This mat provides a nice thickeness, but my area rug slides constantly
January 3, 2017
This mat provides a nice thickeness, but my area rug slides constantly. I adjust my rug at least 7x per day. Any advice on how to stop the sliding?
Not quite what I expected
July 23, 2016
The felt pad served the purpose I bought it for however it was definitely NOT 1/4" thick (half that thickness) and has no give to it to make it feel plush when you walk on it.
Good cushioning but the carpet will still slide over the floor.
January 1, 2016
Provides good cushioning but the carpet will still slide over the floor. Easy to trim to size.
Runner and pad slips sidewards in the hallway
January 3, 2015
Bought this for a hallway runner hand-made in northern iran/iraq border area some time ago.Doorway entrance from kitchen and also from bathroom open onto this runner and pad.Rug slips gradually sidewards and I have to pull the 13 foot runner and this pad back towards the center of the hallway each week. This is irritating. Maybe it's because I have an oak floor hallway and the pad is designed for something else?My old cream colored spongy mesh pad before this purchase barely had this problem but it had that rubber stinky smell about it.I guess this pad s good if you only walk up and down a hallway but never step onto it or the runner from a side room entrance. It does offer nicer cushioning but that's negated by the side slippage of runner and of this pad.I wasn't like that first week or two I used it but now it's a common irritating issue.

September 30, 2017
I ordered an 8x11, but received a 10x14 or larger. I know I shouldn't complain for getting more than I paid for, but I had to go buy shears to trim off the excess. I didn't want to wait for a new one to arrive because movers were here to move a sofa and I wouldn't have another opportunity to place the mat. I would say it's of OK quality otherwise...nothing special.
Slips on wood floors
September 19, 2017
Very slippery. We have vintage wood floors and this rug pad slips and moved daily. Also not as thick and cushy as we had thought it would be.
Odd size for a 9x12...
June 4, 2017
I ordered the 9x12 size, but it falls about 2ft short on the 12" length. Nice and cushy though.
NOT a custom size as advertised.
April 4, 2017
Ordered 4 of these. Read all the reviews about how to request custom cut. Have received 3 of the 4 so far and they arrived with stock size and not cut. I was going to return but my husband said he would cut them. Took him an hour. Product is great but not what I ordered. Disappointed.
Pad slides around means carpet is always moving.
March 31, 2017
The carpet pad is thick enough however it doesn't stick. Each time you walk across it slides. If anyone has an idea on how to make it stay without gluing something into my wood floors I would like to know.

Rug moves everywhere on the mat. Never has there ...
May 3, 2017
Rug moves everywhere on the mat. Never has there been a day where I didn't have to put the rug back on the mat... and it's in my bedroom!
Do not recommend.
March 19, 2017
These pads stay put on hardwood floors, but they do not keep the carpet in place. All 3 of my area rugs slide right off these pads.
Rug slips worse than it did on the wood floor.
July 7, 2016
I'm very unhappy with this pad. I bought three and they are nice and cushiony and they stick fine to the floor, but the rugs slip off the pad every day. I slipped and fell as a result yesterday. I missed the return window as I thought I could live with it. I'm so sorry I did. I'm going to have to throw them out.
Does NOT Prevent Rug From Sliding on Hardwood Floor
April 25, 2016
I had high expectations for this product. The description really led me to believe that this product would prevent a rug from sliding on a hardwood floor. Unfortunately, it did not. The pad itself, due to the rubber backing against the hardwood flooring, does not slide...but it does not prevent the rug from sliding on the felt side of the pad. So everyday I get to bend down and reposition the rug back over this pad. It seams like this product would work better if non-slip rubber was on BOTH sides of this non-slip pad. 1 star because this does NOT prevent our rug from sliding.
NOT for Vinyl floors!
July 5, 2015
We had to return it. When we ordered it, nowhere in the description did it say that it was not appropriate for vinyl floors, but when we got the package it had that disclaimer. It's important that all information is posted in the description.
The skid part which adheres to the floor works good, does not move
May 31, 2015
The skid part which adheres to the floor works good, does not move. However, the top part of the pad, which the scatter actual rug lays on, has movement when walking on it. Disappointed in that aspect of the pad. Maybe the latex/skid part should be on both sides and then maybe I could give this product 5 stars. I might return this product, not as satisified as I thought I would be, especially after the cost of each of these! As these are priced at least double than the normal waffle pad.

Doesn't hold rug from moving.
January 19, 2017
Grabs my hardwood flooring great, however, not enough stick between the pad and the rug. My rug often shifts and moves enough that the pad is showing around the edges. I recommend going to the original rubber mats that are much cheaper and easier to cut. Basically threw this out after a week of frustration and moving.
It smells terrible. It literally stinks
December 13, 2016
It was a while before we opened the package as we didn't have the rug yet. Really wish that we had opened it right away. It smells terrible. It literally stinks. Too late now to return it for a refund but at least I can post a warning.
Does not work on carpet
September 11, 2016
I was hoping that this product would help to anchor area rugs to carpet. It simply does not; if anything, it made bunching worse. One source of frustration in ordering carpet pad via Amazon : in Q&A section there were several instances where potential buyers asked whether the product would work on carpet. Inevitably, responses ran along the lines of buyers who felt compelled to respond that they had only used it on their hardwood or laminate but it worked just fine. For Pete's sake, just don't respond if you can't answer the real question.
Doesn't prevent rug from sliding
July 31, 2016
My rug slides all over this pad when anyone walks on it. It was a waste of money. What a disappointment.
Disappointed in outcome
July 7, 2016
This item does not work for keeping a throw rug from shifting on carpet as stated in the description. The felt side was placed on the wall-to-wall carpet and the throw rug was laid on the rubber side of the pad as per instructions and the rug shifted when walked on.
NOT NON SLIP
December 2, 2015
This IS NOT A NON SLIP PAD. Its advertised as a "hardwood pad" which makes you think its going to help the rug slip less, however the very last sentence of the very last bullet on the description mentions briefly that it is not a non slip pad. I'm sure its a great pad, but on a hardwood floor its worthless.

Uneven Cut makes it hard to get the right fit
September 20, 2017
This rug pad turned out to be a nightmare due to the uneven cut we received. We did everything a person could possibly do with measurements to cut this rug pad to fit under our rug evenly, but it didn't work. I finally made it work by having to trim off more from one side than the other.

September 19, 2017
Very cheap product and complete rip off. The rug from the pad comes out very often. Do not buy at any cost.
Just a carpet (not rug) pad
August 22, 2017
Do not recommend this, as it's basically a carpet pad cut to size and not meant for use area rugs. I could purchase the same item at any hardware or carpet remnant store for a fraction of the cost. Save your money and order a real area rug pad.
false advertising - not 100% felt. beware!
August 18, 2017
There is a huge chunk of molten plastic in the pad. And I can clearly see a lot of plastic "wires".100% Felt Rug Pad – I don't think so.
Not the best
November 14, 2016
This pad pretty much does nothing. It doesn't add any noticeable padding at all. It is also not perfectly square, so parts of it stick out under the rug in places. Not worth the money at all.
