Super quality perfect for hard wood flooring
February 9, 2017
Super quality perfect for hard wood flooring. Paid a little more than I wanted but it was worth it. Thick, but not too thick. I put it under a very nice natural jute rug and it made all the difference in the world as far as a nice "soft" walk.
Great non slip mat!
February 1, 2017
This is definitely as advertised - totally non slip. I'm using it under a cotton/poly braided rug on the wood floor in the hallway. Before I had a chance to cut it to the proper dimensions, I had it on my ceramic tile in the kitchen. Same result - no slipping. It is good and thick. It was packaged nice and tight and I was worried there would be major creases. It was folded, not rolled. It flattened out nicely in a day or so. My cats can no longer take a running start and crash into the rug, sending it flying and flipping everywhere. They are not happy. I am!
Comfort A, Grip to floor A-, Grip to throw rug B-
May 5, 2016
I bought this pad to cut up and use for the Jelly bean throw rugs (~2' x 3') I bought for the kitchen. The bottom rubber side grips the floor well and the top coarse side grips my throw rugs well enough for me.... but my room mate is heavy footed and he manages to side the throw rugs off the pad with in 1-2 days. The pads are thin, but they make a huge difference in comfort and I am over all very glad I got this. If fact the thinness is sort of a plus since the throw rug drapes over it and it looks like it is just one piece. It makes the thin washable kitchen rug feel much more substantial and comfortable while cooking and I'm a plus size woman, so that says a lot about how much comfort these pads provideI am in the process of hand sewing 4" diagonal elastic corners to each of my rugs to hold the rug and pad together better ( room mate proofing). That is a simple and fast fix which I would probably have to do once I get a dog again anyways
Best Pad Ever
June 1, 2015
I have a difficult rug that bunches. I've tried it in two different rooms thinking maybe less use would reduce the bunching, to no avail. This rug pad arrived and looked very similar to the one I was using. I put it under the rug and my rug HAS NOT BUDGED since. I have no idea why this rug pad is so awesome but IT IS.
Great quality and easy to trim
March 16, 2015
I ordered the 8'x11' pad for use with a rug on a hardwood floor. Very happy with the quality, packaging and shipping. When I unpacked the rug there was no odor. The pad came folded and did have some creases when unpacked. I flattened it out on the floor for an hour or so and then laid the rug on it even though it was still creased. The weight of the rug flattened out the remaining creases. Not an issue at all.The size of the pad is exactly as described - 8'x11' in my case. I did have to trim the rug for my particular application. It was easy to trim using a pair of decent kitchen scissors. I trimmed it to be 6" smaller than my rug, therefore allowing a 3" margin all around my rug. This worked well but on reflection a 2" margin would have been a little better.
Big Fan of this rug pad
January 28, 2014
My husband and I live in a duplex where our son's nursery shares a wall with our neighbor's master bedroom. We have hardwood floors throughout the house and we wanted something that would help absorb sound, but also prevent our carpet from shifting and pulling up while we moved around. This certainly did the trick. It is thick, so be careful when setting it up near doors. Our son's door didn't close, so we had to cut it, but it wasn't that big of a problem for us. We were pleased to discover that there wasn't an odor when we opened the bag and laid it out. I was half way expecting to have some kind of gross plastic or musty smell, but to our surprise nothing! Best part about the rug pad....it absorbs a ton of sound.

Gorilla Grip...I Made a Great Choice:
June 18, 2017
Gorilla Grip...I Made a Great Choice:NON SLIP: non-adhesive, lightweight, and low-profile rug gripper for hard floors.EXTENDS THE LIFE OF RUG: Keeps rugs flat and in place. Helps prevent wrinkling and curling. Because it creates a resilient foundation, a rug pad helps preserve the pile of a rug and reduces wear and tear. In addition, the open weave design of this rug pad allows for easy vacuuming and helps to prevent buildup of dust, mold and odors.CUSTOMIZABLE SIZES: This non-slip rug pad can be trimmed to match rug sizes. Simply trim the pad with scissors to be slightly smaller than the rug for a custom fit.
Wrong Size, Easy Return, Happy Customer!
December 5, 2016
Well, this WOULD have been the perfect rug mat, but I accidentally purchased the wrong size! I COULD have cut the product and used the smaller pieces for different flooring - but we decided to put the rug in a carpeted area regardless. It's essentially a thinner-cut version of those little grippers you can buy in the Home/Storage/Kitchen area of your local store as grippers for your dishes, utensils, etc. Regardless, the return was a simple process and the product is obviously of great quality.P.S. I PAID FULL PRICE FOR THIS PRODUCT BECAUSE AMAZON NEVER GIVES ME FREE THINGS. ;)
Awesome
November 12, 2016
I bought two of these, one for the sitting and one for the living rooms. Great so far, does it's job and even provides a bit of cushioning. If I had to say anything negative it would be that, cushioning; it should be thicker (I'd pay extra). The product(s) arrived on time, as described by Amazon & manufacturer, it was shipped without issue, arrived within prescribed estimates, the packaging was undamaged, and the product itself was unmolested and made with quality materials. Description, photograph, website presentation, and what arrived are the same-size, shape, color, and it matched my expectations.
Incredible Product!

Don't know what we would do without all of our Gorilla Grip Non-Slip Rug pads. We have a young dog with early onset hip dysplasia and so we have covered most all of the tile part of our house with small rugs and runners and they absolutely do not shift when she is walking across them. Great product!

This thing really works! I tried 2 different non-slip pads from Bed Bath & Beyond and neither worked. Both did very little to help. The Gorilla pad works as advertised. I wish I saved my money on the Bed Bath & Beyon ones and tried this first.
Finally the perfect rug pad!!!
October 15, 2014
Fantastic product. I am a decorator and always recommend a rug pad to myclients to prevent slipping and to protect their floors. This one is strong andeffective and won't stain floors like some others. It completely eliminatesslipping but is slim enough that rugs lay flat. It is also easy to trim forunusual sized rugs. Very happy that Amazon is finally selling this brand. Thisis the one to buy.

Definetly thick !
August 2, 2017
Pad is thick & area rug sides "sticks up" a bit ! I did tripped a little when walking onto rug.... darn.... so I need to be careful ! Maybe I need to trim pad edge/side a little.... not sure ( pad is about 1/2" shorter on sides). The pad stays put... does not "gather/wrinkle" like the cheaper pads do !
Well made and works great on linoleum and carpet.
April 16, 2017
using it on two rugs. Bathroom woven cloth on linoleum=works great.Bedroom runner on carpet=works great. Is VERY thick so it does raise the height of the rug you use it under.Seems to be very well made, not at all cheap quality.

We used this for a 5 x 8 area rug on hardwood floor. It keeps the rug in place just fine, and makes the rug a cushiony place you wouldn't mind sitting down for a while. We haven't yet removed everything and cleaned, etc. so I can't say for sure how it treats the wood below, but the combination of the non-slip and hefty thickness of the pad do make it feel really nice both walking around and sitting in the room.

I normally don't write reviews. I felt it necessary to write one for this item. This rug padding works great. My rug never slips, it's wonderful. However today, my husband snagged his sock on something sticking out of the rug from the padding. I got down there and looked, and deep within the padding was a piece of metal. It took me a good 5 minutes of pulling and prying to get it out. It broke, hence the small piece, before I could pull it out. Please, be aware of this when you put your pad down for the first time. I never took that good of a look at it (but never thought that something like this could happen). Just be aware.
I am very pleased with it
November 30, 2014
As of 12/14 only been using it about a week. But so far it is truly living up to its purpose. The rubber backing really holds the pad steadfast to the laminate floor. Was a bit skeptical about buying it because it wasn't described as having a "waffle type design" applied to the rubber back as one of our other pads has. This one has smaller, rectanglar size cells on the rubber back. BUT so far it really holds the pad in place.I am very pleased with it. PLUS the rug I placed on top of it does not slide at all due to the texture of the surface it has. This was a good choice and I am glad I purchased it. It is truly 9 x 12 so you may have to trim it to prevent an edge from showing under your rug.
Unconventional usage
January 24, 2014
I use this on my bed. I have a memory-foam mattress topper. It was constantly sliding around on top of the actual mattress and pulling the bottom sheet off. So I put this pad between the mattress and topper and it does a great job holding the two together. The only thing that I don't like is the "felt" material is very scratchy. Obviously it needs to be textured to hold the bottom of the rug, but it's a really industrial material and isn't comfortable to touch. I always feel like I touched fiberglass insulation after I've handled it and wore gloves the last time I did. If it was on the floor and crept out from under a carpet, I wouldn't want to step on it.

Works as advertised.
September 4, 2017
Works great! I put this pad under a 9x11 rug sitting on porcelain tile a year ago. The rug does not slide, bunch or or move. The pad works as advertised. I didn't need to cut it, but it sure looks like I could; I would recommend just buying a smaller pad so you can skip having to cut it.It is a pain to initially lay down the pad and place the rug on top, because the pad will scrunch until the rug is placed on top, which is why I gave it four stars instead of five. But once you're done--YOU'RE DONE!I needed a pad for a new area rug, and I bought this one again....so I was so satisfied with this pad, I was willing to buy it again.
but very easy to custom cut
August 5, 2017
I purchased these non-slip area rugs to replace ones that had dried out and were crumbling. They are working VERY well. I have a 65lb dog that likes to run through the house every so often. These grips are helping the rugs stay were I expect them to stay. They were larger than my rugs, but very easy to custom cut. The only issue I had was that my dog was able to flip up the ends of my rugs (even with the non slip mat). So while they help the rugs not slip, they do not grip the rugs completely. Still, I am happy with them.
Necessary. Not totally sufficient.
August 1, 2017
I use Gorilla Grips between tile flooring and kilims and also between tile flooring and a rug. They are an improvement over the rugs straight over a tile floor. Rugs straight over a tile floor are maddening, and even dangerous. Gorilla Grips are an improvement and I wouldn't want to be without them. But. Alas. My entrance rug still scooches out of place. My living room rugs still wrinkle. Being that I have children and a dog, I'm not sure that there is a product available that could solve my wrinkly rugs.
Does the job
July 31, 2017
Definitely keeps my rug in place, and was easy to cut to size. Adds a nice but subtle cushioned feel to the rug.The only negative about this is that I'll need to find a way to attach this to my rug, because trying to get everything lined up is a nightmare. Maybe hot glue? Not sure I want hot glue on the bottom of my rug, though. It took a good 10 minutes of fiddling and lifting my fairly heavy rug and placing it on top of this mat before I was able to get it lined up properly so the mat didn't show around the edges. It does work very well, but I think next time I'll try that double sided carpet tape stuff.
Inexpensive, effective
September 14, 2015
Gorilla Grip asked me to post a positive review if I was happy with the product. I am happy with the product for the price. It's clearly the best PVC rug pads I've come across, and I knew it would be some kind of plastic based on the price, but I wish it was clearer from the product description that this was a PVC product (PVC-coated polyester fiber), as I didn't find it to be 100% odor-free (but I know not everyone minds plasticy smells as much as I do). Fortunately, I'm not making a habit of sniffing under my kitchen rugs or my sofa cushions, which is where I'm using this grip pad.

My other non-slip pads still let my rugs slip on wooden floors, but these hold up great. They do slip a little when all three of my dogs hit them hard while turing a corner, but hold much better then most

Would not buy again.
July 14, 2017
I thought at first this would work but I am still straightening the rug at least 5 times a day. I wouldn't buy again.
Not for use on high traffic area or use with furniture as anchor.
April 18, 2017
Seems to allow the rug to move around more than I would want. We haven't tripped but I fix it several times a week. It is on a wood floor at our front door. Otherwise I like the thickness. I do have kids running around playing so I am not ruling out that fact. I might have to replace it since I worry it will cause more problems on the wood floor.
It is thick which will work great in the kitchen where we are using it
February 26, 2017
This came folded in a box so there are folds throughout the pad. It's being used for an area rug on laminated flooring. The rug still slips all over the place and can't be returned as it was cut to size. I will buy double stick carpet tape and hopefully it will stop the slipping. It is thick which will work great in the kitchen where we are using it.
Deep creases and stiff wrinkles
February 7, 2016
This rug pad arrives folded, not rolled. I have had it laying flat with a heavy wool rug on top of it for several days. There a very stiff creases creating an over all, high-profile bumpy surface. I will have to research how to resolve this issue. Overall the quality seems very high, and there is no slipping of the rug. I also ordered this rug pad in a 6'x9' size and have not had the same problem.
Surprised it was slippery on hardwood
January 6, 2016
This product is thick, one side is felt and the other side is a "non-slip" rubber surface. I was impressed at first but then realized that the rug ( a woven wool rug with woven backing, not rubber) and pad were sliding around on our hardwood floor. Purchased for a 4 x 6 area rug in our foyer. I found I was constantly having to replace and reposition it. I purchased another 8 x 10. I haven't used it, but hope because it is bigger it will work better under our new rug. I will be glad to update my comments once it is in use.

OK Product
April 8, 2017
Grips to floor (wood, laminate, tile), but doesn't grip very well to the woven back of area rugs. I like to be able to use the grids to cut evenly, and this worked for one of the packages I bought, but the bias was off on the other.

August 8, 2016
this stuff is just okay. We bought it for a run that stays at the back door on laminate flooring and it still slides a little. I have to lift the rug and re-position the pad about 1-2 times a month. So it does save me from having to move the rug several times a day but could have a little more grip to it.
Mixed review on the different sizes
December 16, 2015
Not all Gorilla Grip Non-Slip Area Rug Pads are created equal. I have purchased three: a 2x8 runner, a 4x6 and a 2X4 . The grip of each varies a lot. The runner which I got first is amazing. The rug does not move. Because it worked so well I purchased the other two. The 4x6 is pretty good but not as good as the 2x8. The 2x4 is no better than the pad I was replacing which didn't work well at all. The grid pattern on all three is different. Is that what makes one work better than the other? Don't know. It's too much work to send back the 2x4 one so I will keep it but I don't recommend it. Maybe the company has a lot of those that they need to get rid of before changing them to the better grid pattern that is used on the 2x8.UPDATE: Hills Point Industries gets FIVE STARS for working to make sure I was happy with ALL my purchases. They responded immediately to my review on the 2x4 size and problem solved a most satisfactory solution. I still can not recommend the 2x4 size in it's current form but the material used to make the 2x8 and the 4x6, both sizes I also purchased, work extremely well. My area rugs don't budge. Hills Point Industries exchanged my 2x4 with a 2x8 which I cut in half to get the 2x4. The grid has more surface area and totally grips both floor and rug. I am completely satisfied. Thank you Hills Point!
Seems ok.
September 19, 2015
I will caveat by first saying I'm using this underneath a couch and not for a rug as its intended to be used. I think it would work well for a rug as it does seems to cling to the floor pretty well. My couch still slides a bit, but that's probably because a couch has a lot more weight to it than a rug, but it still protects my floors from getting scratched by the couch if it moves. Its fairly straight forward to cut if you need to, but is a little tedious to do.
They work but not perfectly
June 17, 2015
I loved this when we first got them, but over the last few months i've noticed i need to adjust my rugs more, as they are slipping still and the mats are poking out from underneath them. They do still help and my rugs are not slipping as much as they use to but, they do still slip and expose the gorilla grip mats underneath. I have them under 4 rugs and all have experienced this problem so i know it's not just one rug causing the problem. So, if you don't mind adjusting your rugs from time to time then these will work for you, but if you're looking for something that will basically glue your rugs in place then i would look else where.
It does work better than not having it
December 17, 2014
It does work better than not having it.I did notice the rug slide a little and show some of the gorilla grip. There are no adhesive backing or tape on the gorilla grip. The grip looks alot like drawer lining. It also gives the rug a thicker feel, which I like.Good buy. Would buy again.

Sticks to wood floor, but rug slips off
June 16, 2017
So this is a mixed review. I bought two of these for my runners and as they stay very well on the my wood floor, the carpet runners slide completely off all the time. The carpet does not stick on the felt part of this product. I have unfortunately thrown away the packaging so I am stuck with them. This is a shame as I have bought this brand before for larger and smaller rugs and have never had a problem. As I would recommend this product due to past experiences, my suggestion is keep the packaging just in case.
Doesn't keep your rug in place!
January 6, 2017
This pad will stay in place on the floor (one is on tile and one is on hardwoods) but the rug on top of it moves if the wind blows or if a dog farts. I will now have to get double sided tape to keep the rug on the pad which is kind of annoying.
Packaging the same but the product is clearly different.
November 23, 2015
I have ordered these in the past and they work well. I ordered 2 of the 8 foot runners for a long runner rug and as you can see by the picture one of them are brown and the other is not. Which really isn't that big of a deal since its under the rug however it's not as wide either. The packaging label is exactly the same which makes no sense to me.
We recently discovered that the pad turns brown and 'bleeds' ...
July 26, 2015
We recently discovered that the pad turns brown and 'bleeds' in to the rug if it gets wet. We have a light colored rug from Restoration Hardware and after a water spill dried brown we couldn't figure out why (we thought the nanny may have spilled tea not water). It happened a second time and we still couldn't figure it out. So we tested it with a white towel and sure enough the pad turns brown when it gets wet. Definitely not to be used with a light color rug unless you;re 100% sure it will never get wet.
Definitely Not Non-slip
January 25, 2015
I got this for our hallway rug because it's nice and thick, so I thought it would give some cushion to an area we're walking over all the time. It does provide some cushioning, but that really doesn't matter since we constantly have to readjust the rug! The rug doesn't stick to the pad and the pad doesn't stick to the floor. They slide all over our hallway.
NOT working for me! However....the quality is good.
September 13, 2014
I read the reviews and based on them I felt this would work in holding my area rugs in place on wood flooring. It is a step better than no rug pad - BUT - the rug shifts off the pad all the time. It lifts the rug up high enough (giving a nice bit of cushion - mind you) that if you kick the rug on the side - as in dragging your feet along - the rug moves off the pad a bit. I'm always 'fixing' the rug back to the pad. The pad sticks to the wood flooring pretty good. It is the rug that won't stick well to the pad! NOT dragging my feet at home is not an option - if a person cannot drag their feet in the privacy of their home something is wrong!I'm thinking of putting double-sided tape between the rug and the pad. NOT a great thing to have to do. I admit defeat though......looks like I need some double-sided tape!Maybe this working right is dependent on the 'type' of backing that the rug has? Not sure about this. With other rugs on my wood flooring I once tried the 'waffle-weave' type that is sold in places like Walmart and after a year or so the rubber stuck to my wood floor leaving residue to clean off. I know that wasn't good for my wood floor. I need definite non-skid rug backing on my rugs and unfortunately that limits quality and design.I wouldn't recommend this because it's hit or miss whether it'll work for the next person.Thank you.

Does the job but difficult set up and bad smell
September 14, 2017
It was a pain to set up because it kept bunching up under the rug. The size seemed off too, I had to cut it on all sides to make sure it didn't stick out from under the rug even though it should have been the same size. It could be because it was not perfectly positioned so I would recommend ordering a size smaller than your rug. It also has a strong smell that takes a while to go away.
Meh
August 12, 2017
My rug is a flat weave so I'm not sure if this was the right type of rug mat for that. My rug still moves around quite a bit, get wrinkled and the corners don't stay put very well. All this thing is doing is making sure the whole thing doesn't slip and slide around the floor but that's basically it
Works well, but terrible smell / coated with PVC
May 12, 2017
Works as advertise to keep rug from sliding... however, smells TERRIBLE out of the bag and is coated with PVC (I did not realize this before purchasing, and would not have purchased had I known). I soaked it in soapy water and scrubbed it with a sponge, and after it dried the smell was mostly gone. Would not recommend unless you're willing to do this.
The Rug Constantly Slips Off the Pad
November 14, 2016
After a few weeks of use, it is clear this is not going to keep my rug in place. At least once daily I have to put my rug back over the pad as it slides off or moves on top of the pad. The pad stays in place on the floor, but the rug does not stay in place on the pad. I read a lot of positive reviews on this product but unfortunately I have not had the same luck. It may be better if it is placed in a rug not in a high traffic area, but then that sort of defeats the purpose of needing one. Won't buy another one.
Did not work well.
July 21, 2016
I have two braided rugs in my front hall but the door. They sit on hardwood flooring. I got a large enough size to fit but it doesn't stick to the floor and it sure did not keep the rug in place. The minute the dogs run to the door, the rugs slide up against the door and then you cannot open the front door. It slides around even when people walk on it. I was disappointed and ended up going with the Ikea no slip and just cutting it down to size.
Does not work with big dogs
July 13, 2016
I bought these to hold down two area rugs that our big black German shepherd kept messing up just by walking on them. It doesn't work. The rugs were still constantly out of place, so we've just stopped using the rugs altogether. I even bought other sticky pads to add to the corners of the rugs (used in conjunction with these Gorilla Grip rug holders), and nothing works for the rugs I'm using. I wouldn't recommend this for people with big dogs because it just doesn't work for them.

Rug moves everywhere on the mat. Never has there been a day where I didn't have to put the rug back on the mat... and it's in my bedroom!
Do not recommend.
March 19, 2017
These pads stay put on hardwood floors, but they do not keep the carpet in place. All 3 of my area rugs slide right off these pads.
Rug slips worse than it did on the wood floor.
July 7, 2016
I'm very unhappy with this pad. I bought three and they are nice and cushiony and they stick fine to the floor, but the rugs slip off the pad every day. I slipped and fell as a result yesterday. I missed the return window as I thought I could live with it. I'm so sorry I did. I'm going to have to throw them out.
Does NOT Prevent Rug From Sliding on Hardwood Floor
April 25, 2016
I had high expectations for this product. The description really led me to believe that this product would prevent a rug from sliding on a hardwood floor. Unfortunately, it did not. The pad itself, due to the rubber backing against the hardwood flooring, does not slide...but it does not prevent the rug from sliding on the felt side of the pad. So everyday I get to bend down and reposition the rug back over this pad. It seams like this product would work better if non-slip rubber was on BOTH sides of this non-slip pad. 1 star because this does NOT prevent our rug from sliding.
NOT for Vinyl floors!
July 5, 2015
We had to return it. When we ordered it, nowhere in the description did it say that it was not appropriate for vinyl floors, but when we got the package it had that disclaimer. It's important that all information is posted in the description.
The skid part which adheres to the floor works good, does not move
May 31, 2015
The skid part which adheres to the floor works good, does not move. However, the top part of the pad, which the scatter actual rug lays on, has movement when walking on it. Disappointed in that aspect of the pad. Maybe the latex/skid part should be on both sides and then maybe I could give this product 5 stars. I might return this product, not as satisified as I thought I would be, especially after the cost of each of these! As these are priced at least double than the normal waffle pad.

Just doesn't work
July 25, 2017
Using with a small area rug and a runner on hard wood floors and neither carpet holds in place. I installed on a clean floor and from the first day, at least once to twice a week I have to readjust the carpets. I need to readjust only slightly more often without the pads.
Does nothing

I'm not at all happy with this product. It doesn't grip my floor at all so my rugs slide all around. I even folded it in half to try to get some extra grip. That didn't work unfortunately. I ended up cutting this up and using it in my dog crates under their crate pads. If you are looking for a legitimate rug pad that will hold your rugs in place, look elsewhere.
Waste of money

Does nothing. I bought this for 2 small rugs in the bathroom that slip and slide. This product does nothing. I cut it to size and placed it under the mats. May as well not be there at all. The rugs still slipa and slide all over the place. I wish i could return this. Waste of money.
Not worth it

Still moves when walked on. I had it in my place room so my kids could sit and play and it constantly moves.
I was completely disappointed in this product
October 13, 2016
I was completely disappointed in this product. It was 100% ineffective and I was sorely disappointed in the purchase. While most of the reviews were positive (usually a good sign), this product did not work in the least and wouldnt even stick to my wood floors! And it also didnt stick to the bottom of my area rug. Hugely disappointed. I would strongly caution anyone from buying this unless you go try it in person first.
