A Real Help As I Age
February 9, 2017
I use these to assist in getting my shoes on without having to bend as far. I used one of my wife's emery boards to smooth out the edges. While not quite "sharp" there were metal edges, and I wanted them smoother than they were. I took maybe 15 minutes getting them as smooth as I wanted them, I do not think the edges were bad, just that I wanted them smoother than they were shipped (personal preference, not upset at the product or the manufacturer). Since then I have used these daily with great pleasure and comfort.
Nice product: TIP included
July 18, 2015
This is a very good product. Light and sturdy. The metal shaft is attached to the wood handle with 2 screws. TIP: over time the screws will loosen. Try some wood glue to keep them in place. Unscrew fill holes with wood glue and screw together again, wipe away any glue and done. '
A simple well made tool that makes life so much easier
September 8, 2014
My father (84 years old) was visiting with me a couple of weeks ago and he was struggling with putting his shoes on with one of those short shoe horns. So I decided to do a little research online to see if there was an alternative and found this item with pretty good reviews. I ordered it immediately and planned to give it to my Dad the next time I saw him. However, before giving it to Dad I decided to give it a try. I have arthritis in one of my hips so I've been struggling with putting on my walking shoes for awhile now. I've never used a shoe horn before and I had pretty much resigned myself to destroying the backs of my shoes when I pushed my foot in even after I loosened the ties. Well, that has all changed now, I am so surprised and pleased at what a simple tool like this can do to make one's life easier. This long handed shoe horn is very well made with smooth edges that don't catch on my socks. The connection between the wood handle and the metal shoe horn is very solid. I am 5"6" and I can use it either sitting on a chair or standing up.I already ordered a second one to give to my Dad because I'm keeping this one.
Excellent Shoe Horn
February 17, 2014
I've only used this shoe horn a few days, but it has been excellent. First, it has a nice wooden handle that has rounded edges and is easy to hold. I like the handle instead of just a longer metal extension. It feels better to hold and use. The handle is attached with two screws and is very secure. Second, it has a leather thong through a hole in the handle so you can hang it up if you want to. It's a nice addition. Third, it's just under a foot long so I don't have to bend over to get my sneakers on. All-in-all, I'd rate it an excellent buy.
Really Great Shoe Horn
July 25, 2013
The handle is strong wood and long, so no bending over. Great item. It will be hard to break and will last a long time.
Just what he needed!
October 19, 2011
My husband has difficulty with is balance and mobility. This shoehorn is both durable and perfect to assist him. He has used it daily for several months and loves it. It holds up fine in spite of his awkwardness and sometime forcefulness. A worthwhile investmentThe shoehorn has outlasted my husband and now I'm using it. It is comfortable and durable. Good investment.

GREAT EXTRA LONG SHOEHORN, EVEN FOR A SHORT PERSON!
September 13, 2017
Perfect shoe horn, even for short people! We have used other shoehorns in our lifetime, but I LOVE how LONG this shoehorn is!! I'm a short person, 5'2", but having this extra long handle makes it even easier for me to put on my shoes! I barely have to bend down! I can only imagine how much better this would be for a tall person! I was a little hesitant to purchase this because it is made out of plastic, and I felt wood or metal would be more durable. But truth be told, this plastic really is strong and durable and I have no worries about it ever breaking! A plus is that its very light weight, so we actually got a piece of string, used the loop at the top and let it hang on our doorknob for super easy access! It's perfect! If you need a shoehorn, this is the only option in my book!
Excellent idea
May 22, 2017
This 24" extra long shoehorn is an excellent product for individuals that have shoulder, arm, spine, & hip arthritis, etc. By being 2 feet long, it makes it easier to put on shoes with less strain on the joints & spine. This is the second one that I have purchased in 6 months. The first one I purchased worked so well for the person for whom it was bought that I decided to purchase one for my father. I know that he will really appreciate the extra length come Sunday morning. The product is well made & I appreciate the company staying in touch to make sure that everything was a-okay.
Invaluable Aid
September 4, 2016
This shoehorn is 2 feet long, and is an invaluable aid for anyone who has difficulty reaching down to put on his/ her shoes. It's made of hard plastic, comes in many colors and has a nice handle. Highly recommended.
Wonderful Long Shoe Horn
March 28, 2016
This is a great shoe horn. As you get older, bending down all the time to get shoes on can be a pain. This is perfect to bend but not bend over. It's bright red so it's easily seen in a closet of dark clothing. It arrived on time and in good condition. I would definitely purchase from this seller again.
Worth the money! Buy it!
August 12, 2015
I chose this over cheaper variants. Once I received it, I could see why it was priced as it was. It is very durable and has the perfect amount of flex. My last one broke when using it with some heavy boots. You will have no such problems with this.I really like the long handle. It makes putting on shoes that much faster, without having to lean too far back. The handle is handy for hanging on a door handle.
So good I got another one!.
April 1, 2014
I am handicapped and my right hand doesn't work very well; neither does my right leg. As a result, putting on shoes is very difficult. I have had several long shoe horns and they last for a while but then...this all said, this shoe horn is wonderful. Unlike others, the "bowl" of the horn (the part that cups the heel) is wide enough to allow easy use no matter how clumsy one is. The plastic is very strong and feels really secure. I put on shoes sitting down; the horn is too short for use standing up but as I never use it that way it is perfect. I love this product.UPDATE: Because of my condition and my lack of mobility, I often need a shoehorn downstairs, away from where I keep my other one. This shoe horn is so wonderful and useful that I acquired another one! The strength of this shoehorn is critical and is tested on a daily basis simply because I cannot control how my full weight comes down on it. Not a problem!Because it is 24" long it can be conveniently kept out of sight until needed. I had reason, again, to thank my stars for the shoehorn this morning after a grueling day yesterday had robbed me of what little strength I had. This was like an extra pair of hands, helping me to get dressed. My fiancé, who is just fine (thank goodness), loves the Shacke shoehorn and it has become a wrestling match between us, each day, to see who gets to use it first. Because he is a big guy and sometimes has a back problem, using this shoehorn helps to prevent that problem from cropping up.Another note; should communication with the Shacke company be necessary they are wonderfully responsive and customer service seems to be a primary concern. I had no problem but asked a question via email. I got a polite, cheerful and informed response within minutes and they could not seem to want to do enough for me. Wonderful vendor, wonderful product...How great is that???Healthy or not, I couldn't recommend this product more highly.

Long metal shoe horn
September 21, 2017
I needed a shoe horn longer than usual in metal as the plastic ones break. Needed this for my sneakers as the quilted collar interferes with getting my foot in.

April 13, 2017
A METAL SHOEHORN IS ALL NEW FOR ME SO IT WILL TAKE SOME GETTING USED TO BUT I THINK IT WILL BE GREAT AND I DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT IT BREAKING LIKE MY LAST TWO PLASTIC ONES DID. IT WORKS FINE SO FAR AND MY USAGE WILL GET BETER IN TIME I'M SURE.

Good leverage and nice looking
February 8, 2014
Socks slide easily on this chrome horn. This works especially well on 8" boots or anything shorter. I had to repair it when it arrived but I attribute that to the packaging. It needs a box rather than an envelope, so the wooden handle doesn't get stripped off the metal horn. I redrilled holes and was good to go, but some might not want that task.

Length does matter
August 7, 2017
I was afraid the extra long shoe horn was an overkill, but I ended up really liking it over the shorter 7" model I was using. While the T style handle appears to be a good idea, I've found it to be a little awkward to use it as the designer intended. I just grip it below the handle like a normal shoe horn and it feels much better to me that way. Regardless of which way you decide to grip it, it's plenty long enough for you to do it either way.
Good product
July 14, 2017
I don't know how much I can gush about this product. I bought it and it does what I need it to do which is put on dress shoes for work. I think the real measure of any product like this is how long it lasts. If I am still using it five or ten years from now then I will consider it a great value.
Shoehorn is a sensible buy!
July 2, 2017
Good product at good price. Order contains two shoehorns to have one in two different locations is helpful. Comfortable handle design and light-weight plastic construction that I hope will last for a long time. At this time I would recommend this product.
Good Product, But Too Long
March 28, 2017
This was purchased for my 91-year old mother who sometimes needed assistance putting on her shoes. The shoehorn itself was great, and seemed to be well made. Unfortunately, it was much too long for her to use effectively from a seated position. A much small shoehorn would have been better. It would be a much better fit for a taller individual and used from a standing position.
Extra Long Handled Plastic Shoehorn
March 19, 2017
It arrived safely in a rather large box for it is somewhat long which is good for getting into high and tight boots! Problem is that you have to be very careful or maybe I do. It is after all plastic and not metal and even some of my metal shoehorns bend with the pressure exerted I have used this extra long handled shoehorn and it bends and I am afraid it may crack. Time will tell. Only used it once and it did bend. Maybe a little wider base would have helped. I am nervous that it may crack under pressure.
Works well after hip surgery
April 29, 2014
My husband had a hip replacement and needed a shoe horn. This one has worked well. There's a comfortable grip at the top, and the length of the shoe horn allows my 5'-10" husband to stand up, hold on to something for stability, and use the shoe horn to get his foot into his shoe. He likes it.The company has strongly encouraged people who bought their product to either contact the company to resolve problems, or provide an appropriate review of the product and the customer service. I had no contact with the customer service department of the company. Since the product was delivered promptly, has worked well, and seems sturdy, I'm giving it 4 stars.

April 24, 2017
Very nice high quality shoe horn. However , did like the V shape of the spoon as well as the more common heel shape.
Should have ordered a one piece shoe horn.
December 25, 2016
This item works fine as a shoe horn, however, the screws holding the horn to the wooden handle have a tendency to work loose. Tightening them repeatedly will surely result in wearing out the holes in the wood. Some sort of thread seal may help, but I suspect that the life of this item will be less than it should be.If I were to order a longer shoe horn in the future it will be made of one piece of material.
Shoehorn?
September 26, 2015
Very flimsy, was even missing a screw. Very easy to bend. Don't like it. The customer service, on the other hand was excellent. Shipping was VERY fast. It's just an inferior product. Not much one can say about that.
Over all it look like it the picture and do what it claim
April 16, 2015
This is not long as I wanted it. I needed for some long boots. It comes up a little short. It has not broken but I afraid it will, it don't feel very strong. We will see. Over all it look like it the picture and do what it claim.
The length of the product overall seems to0 short, ...
December 29, 2014
The length of the product overall seems to0 short, although the shoe horn itself is completely adequate. My only other comment would be that the metal shoe horn already seems to be bending a bit, even though I don't put any unusual strain on it. I am already considering spending extra money on a longer, lifetime warranty shoe horn. If I were only going to use this shoe horn, say, once a week, it would likely be entirely adequate. But since I use it every day, sometimes several times a day, I feel as though I am going to wear it out in a very short time, especially if the metal starts bending. A shoe horn that bends isn't worth much as a shoehorn.
Pros and cons
September 24, 2013
Pros: nice length (for me), good stiffness, proper thickness of metal portion; attractive and comfortable wooden handle portion; nice leather loop for hanging.Cons: The outside perimeter edge of the metal portion is a bit sharp, where the metal was sheared. It should have been heavily tumble-deburred before plating. So I am concerned that with moderate usage it will accelerate the wear of my socks (sharp inside edge) and my shoes (sharp outside edge). I think that I will end up taking my rotary Dremel and rounding the edges, but that of course will remove the protective plating along the edge.Too bad, too, because they almost got this product perfect, but as it is, I would rather have bought something else since I don't need another project, no matter how small.Frankly, I don't get the reviews that complain about the length - it is stated in listing and is correct. Anyone with a little thought should be able to take a ruler or tape measure, and bend down to determine if the length is suitable for their flexibility before ordering. The length was perfect for my needs; I just wish it had a rounded metal edge. There was also a complaint about the metal strength, and I feel it is totally adequate. Don't use the device as a crowbar (i.e., loosen your shoes a bit first) and you will have no trouble with it. If you bend this thing, you shouldn't be trusted with any tools, power or manual.

It would work better if it was as thin as a metal shoe ...
April 21, 2017
The shoe horn part is too thick. It would work better if it was as thin as a metal shoe horn, but then it would be too weak and too flimsy since it is made of plastic. The length is perfect, since it is hard for me to bend over.
Good product but pricey.
April 14, 2017
Very easy to use. The blade is wide so it guides the foot into the shoe very well. The edges are smooth so they don't cut. The only problem is the price. It is but a long tube of plastic. The company has set the price too high. In my opinion, it should be somewhere $8 and below.
Too thick
March 31, 2017
Nice & sturdy but it was too thick & made it harder to use. I sent it back & I'm getting a metal one that is 1mm thick.
Limited utility for boots.
June 3, 2016
This is a rugged, expertly manufactured device. What prevents me from attributing four or five stars is hopefully not too difficult to rectify with your manufacturer. The device works flawlessly with shoes of a typical design. However, I purchased the device to ease my seventy-plus shoulder's stretching to slip into high-tech, elastic-elaborated snow boots. Unfortunately, the shoehorn is more of a hindrance than a resource for this purpose. The reason is the thinness of the device's heel trough. The device is obviously designed to be unisexual in application. Great for revenue; but I can't align my heel with the trough deep down in the boot. I can't feel the plastic's connection with my heel. For that purpose the trough needs to be another inch wide; another inch to accommodate the male heel, which typically is wider than the female heel. Hopefully you will expand your product line to rectify this deficiency.
Helpful, but flawed for my needs.
May 30, 2016
This shoe horn is helpful, but because it is plastic, while light weight, it is thick and bulky requiring extra room in the shoe to fit the fat swollen foot. Metal would be a better choice for my needs.
The shoe horn handle is very sturdy. The problem is that it is thick
July 29, 2015
The shoe horn handle is very sturdy. The problem is that it is thick, so my father, for whom we purchased the shoe, can't fit it into his shoe and get his foot in. We had to buy a skinnier one so he had room for the shoe horn in his shoe. His feet are swollen, but if you don't have swollen feet and have some wiggle room in your shoes, you probably won't have difficulty with this item.

March 14, 2015
I feel the metal is not strong or thick enough. The horn bent after a few months of use, and now bends more each time I use it. It's certainly a convenient length, but that length means the metal should be a bit heavier. The screws that hold the metal to the wood also came loose, so every month or so I have to retighten them.
Bends way too easily.
September 26, 2014
I am changing our previous review. We thought it wouldn't bend but it does, easily. Won't be buying this again. Ever!
Wood broken in dats
January 30, 2014
Shoe horns really should be all metal. This one look tough enough, tougher than plastic but where it attaches to the wood piece is not strong enough for every day use. Mine broke so I retied the leather strap to the metal piece.

Was great for the first few weeks
August 9, 2017
Was great for the first few weeks, and then it cracked and split, so it's fast becoming useless and I'll have to throw it out soon. A metal one would probably be a wiser choice.

August 4, 2017
Cracked after a few weeks of use. Loved it when it worked but just not very durable.
To thick to use!
December 15, 2016
The plastic is thick enough that I can't fit my foot inside my showboat with it. I think I'm going to have to find a metal one that will be significantly thinner.
Didn't last as long as expected
November 29, 2016
Worked great for about a year with average use. (Maybe 3-4 times/week.)The plastic shoehorn ended up not being the best choice in the long run -- it broke into pieces while I was using it.I just ordered the replacement...metal this time.
Length ends up being a vice
June 20, 2016
Thought the length would be helpful for my elderly father so he would not need to bend over as much. However the length means that there is much more to hold at an angle. So you need more room frequently only accomplished by sitting at the very edge of a seat or bed with your legs extended out and bending over more to reach them ...all of which defeats the gain.
