Extremely useful and convenient
January 24, 2016
We have used this instant hot water dispenser over many years. I think this is about the 4th one...they last over 12 years. It is streamline (doesn't take up very much room) and I use it many times a day. It takes a long time for our hot water to reach our kitchen sink so I use the instant hot water for just about everything...for washing a few dishes and soaking pans, instant soups or cereals, tea, hot chocolate,(it is the perfect temperature for hot beverages and the temperature is adjustable to your needs) to name a few. I really don't think I could live without it. (=

I have had this item installed for 3 years and it is working great. I have it plugged into a switched plug so I do not have it turned on all the time. My wife will turn it on before she is ready to make tea and since it heats up quickly it is not problem for her. I do wish that the spout was taller so that it will accommodate different size cups. I like it because it is simple to install and does not take up to much room under the sink.
Its Great
March 24, 2015
I had mine installed by a plumber, it was working beautifully, then 2 days later it stoped heating. I was very disappointed, neadless to say I contacted amazon by CHAT, & they were more than abliging to replace or refund my item, I chose to replace it & it was shipped immediately & I will receive it within the week. I had this same item for nearly 15yrs, & finally when it gave up, I could not find any where to replace it, untill I saw it on Amazon. I hate being with out it, they are great, I think I was just unlucky after being without it for so long. Well worth the investment.

We recently replaced our original HOT-1 which lasted about 7 yrs. We found the size and price to be excellent. It was very easy to install especially since it was a replacement and the hole in the granite counter was already done. The new one is working great. These obviously can't work forever, but for the price if you get 5+ years it is a good deal. I liked the suggestion by another rater to add a timer at the plug to have it only heating up during hours we would be using it.
Purchased as replacement, install was painless
April 10, 2013
The size of this unit is smaller than some, perfect for our house and an occasional cup of hot water. The wattage is lower, which saves our electricity while still giving us instant hot water. The profile of the unit undersink was important to me as there was limited space with a large garbage disposal and a hose from the diswasher running directly through the area this was to be installed.Because it was a replacement, it was very easy. I removed the old installation, and only had to attach the water inlet to the existing valve, tighten down the spout to the countertop, and plug it in. The water temperature is adjustable,so we can tweak things if needed (but we haven't needed to). I'd buy this again in a minute for a household install.
Great hot water dispenser - updated construction, too.
October 16, 2012
The HOT-1 hot water dispenser is a great addition to the kitchen. It holds 1/3 gallon, so it consumes much less energy than the bigger models. Put it on a timer to shut off at night and you'll save even more! Also, because of its compact size, it will fit nicely under most sinks. This hot water dispenser replaced a similar unit that was approximately 7 years old. My old HOT-1 began leaking, as other reviewers have commented. The good news is that the newer units (at least mine) are soldered much better. I opened the plastic housing and I could see a much more complete job of soldering the two seams of the copper water tank. I would say InSinkErator has definately responded to the earlier defects of leaking tanks.

Nice upgrade!
September 28, 2017
Quick and easy to install. My old InSinkErator died after 7 years. This one fit perfectly! I didn't have to cut the counter. Took probably an hour to install.
Looks and works great!
September 17, 2017
This replaced and old one that we had for years. Looks great. Wasn't difficult to install (no bad language from under the sink during installation). So far it works perfectly.
It is great for making tea
June 23, 2017
Just installed. This is my third or fourth one over a 25 year period. It is great for making tea, starting a pot of water to boil, soaking a dirty pot, or sanitizing something that may have hit the floor (baby bottle or teether for example). The water comes out just below a boil, and there is an ample supply. The tank reheats quickly if you end up draining it for some reason.

Every house should have this! I've added it to 3 so far and I have hot tea, oatmeal, hot cocoa in the time it takes the turn the knob! Small under the sink so it fits under anything, temp is adjustable and simple to use. A small luxury for any household!
Works ! Best out there ,

Installed in ten minutes , buy speedy adoptor X 1/4 inch compression tee buy 1/4 X 1/4 compression coupling buy three ft of copper 1/4 inch tubing , short heavy extension cord if needed , works greatDo not plug in till water is purged thru hot water dispenser spout , no air left in tank , then plug in wait 15 minutes , bravo Hot water !
We enjoyed it for many years making instant hot beverages
October 14, 2014
When I bought my house 18 years ago there was an InSinkErator InstaHot in my kitchen. We enjoyed it for many years making instant hot beverages, oatmeal, ect. until the heating unit under the counter started rusting. I do not know how long it had been installed before I bought the house. During my recent kitchen renovation we replaced the old unit for this sleeker looking model. It works great!!! Looks cool!! My friends have other hot water dispensers from other manufactures and they always seem to leak. I highly recommend this one if your looking for instant boiling hot water.

Better than the competition
September 20, 2015
We had one of these units in a house that was converted to a rental. The unit failed after a year of rental to a family of that broke a lot of other things too. The unit was four years old at that point and per the other reviews it may simply have come to its natural end. Given the pricing and ease of installation I cannot say that I am disappointed even if that is the case. If you cook a lot, an instant hot water tap is the best thing in the world to have on hand for cleanup and preheated water to boil while cooking. In our new house we have more expensive units that were much more difficult to install and cannot be kept nearly as hot because they boil over. We put one on both sinks in the kitchen because we knew the value of the instant hot water. One of them we have already turned off because it cannot be adjusted to function correctly. I am looking forward to replacing both of them with this brand.
Pretty "Hot" Limited Capacity but Works Well
January 16, 2015
Limited capacity but easy to set up and works just fine. Replace this same unit when the handle broke on the old unit. It was about 6 years old. This new HOT-1 is a much better manufactured unit. I don't know if they change the specs a bit or I just lucked out this time and got it from a different factory but the unit we received just works much better in all respects. I would rate the old one as marginal this one is actually pretty good.
I like the small size as I don't need a lot ...
October 21, 2014
This is my second HOT-1. The first one I had lasted for 10 years so I was eager to replace it when it died. I like the small size as I don't need a lot of hot water and it doesn't take up a lot of space under the sink. However, the first one they sent me did not work. it would not fill up and it would overheat and steam out all the water. I called the company and the service person in my area came out and replaced it and installed the replacement with no cost to me. The new one works fine and there was no hassle getting it replaced so I'm very happy with the product.
Does the job required.
April 29, 2014
Have had this brand of dispenser for years, however, it only lasts about 4 years before requiring replacement. We are on our third dispenser presently and ordered two more to have in stock because this one is nearing its life cycle end and wanted to be prepared. After the first replacement by a plumber, I discovered how easy it is to do oneself as long as one has a basin wrench. Also, ordering through Amazon was less than half what the plumber and/or the local plumbing supply company charged. That is why I ordered two this time.
Cheapest model, fails quickly, but still a good bargain
November 19, 2013
I have relied on this particular model in my kitchen for years (I've had 4 of them), and had to change it out about every 3-5 years on average. Why? It is half the price of the other units, and does a decent job for the price, and looks good too. This is their cheapest model, and after just a few years, the parts inside will fail. Eventually it will leak, and erratically spray scalding hot water all over the kitchen sink. Fortunately the failure is not sudden, but gradual. It's just a matter of time. But I have not found a better product at less than double the price yet.
Perfect for my needs
June 24, 2010
This is my third Insinkerator HOT-1. The first two lasted about 8 years each. The problem is that the storage tank developed a leak and then the unit is done for. This time I spent at lot of time searching for a unit that would last longer. After reading all the reviews I could find, I decided to stay with the HOT-1. It works well and I like the small capacity tank. The more expensive models have larger stainless steel tanks that will last longer, but use more energy to keep the water warm all the time. Since we used our unit only a few times a week, tank capacity is not an issue. it is relatively easy to install. One trick I came up with is to tie a string around the top of dispenser handle and then have someone pull the unit up by treading the string through the hole in the sink while you guide it in from below. This saves a lot of time, because otherwise it is very hard to position the unit into the sink opening from below. It took me less than an hour to install it.

A good product
June 17, 2017
I have had more than one of these units and they work well. This new one has a plastic case which I don't care for but it appears that many products are going this way. Hopefully it will perform as well as the others I have owned. The one I am replacing lasted 16 years.
As for when they work they are great.
April 21, 2017
So it works and installed as expected replacing another one that crapped out after 4 years. These things are designed to fail just after the warrantee runs out. BEWARE... As for when they work they are great.
Works very well.
December 1, 2015
Replaced my old system without new holes. This is the most affordable of all of the options that I can find. I think it's a bit ugly and I don't like the twist as much as the lever, but it works well. The water can also be adjusted to just under boiling. Those last few degrees make a difference and I can directly make a coffee whereas my previous InSinkErator wasn't hot enough to do this satisfactorily.
Great System!
March 25, 2014
I purchased this system after my tap stopped working. We liked the brand, but were surprised at how expensive taps can get and decided to go with this more moderately priced system. It has been great! This system is easy to install, especially if you are doing a replacement like ours. The only downfall is that it doesn't come with a ferrule and nut for the copper tubing to tie into the plumbing system, so we had to purchase one separately. One side note, that may be due to our older plumbing (70's), the copper tubing was short and doesn't give a lot of room for error when plugging into your valve. Because it was so short, it was difficult to curve the tube straight into the valve and we ended up with a leak. We ended up having a plumber finish the last of the installation. Again, not sure this is a typical event, but FYI.Overall, I would recommend this product.
Hope the new tank design lasts longer.
March 19, 2014
I've had an ISE hot water dispenser for 27 years and wouldn't be without one. However, this last one has been installed only four years (is this the reason for only a 3 yr. warranty?) and has just developed a leak. After been on the web for several hours I foundthat it was better to purchase the H-Contour-SS whole package at $229 rather than just the tank alone for $265. At the same timeI'm purchasing ISE H-WaveC-SS combo as a housewarming gift for my 90 year-old parents who are moving to an over 55 community. Hopefully, the hot water dispenser will last as long as they do. But, I won't count on it.
Quieter than old one.
February 3, 2014
This is a little clunky looking, but it works quietly and that is a huge plus! Wish it was sturdy metal, unfortunately it's coated plastic and is already starting to show dings and peeling. So be careful not to bang it with cutlery or pots... but of course since its the kitchen sink area it will happen. I like the bigger tank.

It was difficult for my son to install. He took it home and fooled around with it, because it leaked. After some adjustments, he got it to stop leaking, but now you don't have to hold it back: it stays on, and you have to pull it forward to turn it off.
My Fourth InSinkErator
February 11, 2015
This is my fourth InSinkErator. The first one lasted five years. The second one lasted six years. I was disappointed the third one only lasted 19 months. I wrote a review for the third one for Home Depot long before it died. The Home Depot review: This was my third hot water dispenser. All three same model. The previous ones lasted about six years. The only difference in this and the last one was the handle. The first one I owned had a sturdy plastic handle. Happy I kept the old handle when the one handle on the last one broke after a few years. Also, the washer securing the spout into the top of the dispenser tends to wear out from rotating the spout. Easy to fix when it happens. It's really convenient to have an affordable hot water tap. It reduces use of the microwave and running the hot water for washing small items. It's easy to replace but first installation may take a little longer. I recommend this product to anyone looking for the convenience of hot water on tap at an affordable price. Hopefully my fourth InnSinkErator will last six years otherwise I will try a different manufacturer.
3 years ago I laughed when the reviews said it would break in 3 years
December 26, 2014
Three years ago I chuckled to myself when many reviews stated that this Hot 1 would only last about 3-4 years. Last week, right on time after just over three years I woke up and found that my Hot 1 had leaked water all over the kitchen floor and cabinets. The leak came from the unit itself and not the connections. It is literally broken and will not hold water. Not too bad of a spill but it did cause me to have to stay home from work to clean the mess and that took a few hours. All that said, while it worked, it was great and delivered hot water on demand. I guess I will buy another one since it will be easier to install it given my limitations under the sink. Oh well. Three years and a new one. I gave it three stars because it was affordable and reliable while it lasted. If it was still working I would give it 5 stars. These units should last at least five years IMHO.Edit: After writing this review, insinkerator contacted me and offered a few possible solutions and a hefty discount on a replacement. Nice to know some companies still value customer service and go the extra mile. So, my review still applies but the company gets five stars for service! Thank you!
Instant hot water heater
July 24, 2014
A smaller version of their instant hot water heater. It is one piece and instals very easily right on the sink. One problem, you always hear it bubbling. This is not because it is boiling, but like any other electrically heater water heater the temperature around the element is extremely high and this causes the bubbling noise. The manufacturer states that thyis is audible because the heater is not insulated whereas their larger model has a lot of insulation around it.
It's okay.
May 1, 2014
I like the price comparitively, but it is pretty noisy. Even when it's not being used, it noisily heats up the water in the reservoir to keep it at the hot temp. I wish it would just be silent until the button is pushed and then have a little delay to heat the water. Also, it spits and sputters water randomly when it's not being used. Besides these little nuisances, it works fine.
I like it,but---------
April 27, 2013
This is the 3rd instant water heater we've had, really love design, so easy to fill a cup or pan. The first two lasted ten years each. The new one, now made in China, worked one day after the plumber installed it. We now wait for the company to replace it and are left wondering if heating water on the stove or in the microwave wouldn't be a simpler way to go. Just spoiled I guess!

Clunky
December 17, 2016
I can't believe the faucet is plastic! I've had a hot spot for years and it finally gave out. It was slim in design and had a convenient press to turn on handle..this one is huge and clunky in design and really inconvenient to have to turn the top to turn on. Works fine but design needs rethinking
Very disappointed as to how stiff the faucet is
April 7, 2016
Very disappointed as to how stiff the faucet is. My wife has a hard time turning it and to our knowledge there is no adjustment for that . Pity. Otherwise the water does come out piping hot.
Buyer beware parts missing and/or insufficent
July 26, 2015
This product came without the fitting to connect it to a water supply. Nowhere in the Amazon product description does it alert the consumer that it can not be installed without a trip to a plumbing supply store. While we are on the topic of extras not in the package, I alert you to the incredibly short supply line that comes attached to the product. The length of this line will severely limit your options when it comes to mounting the heater. I would recommend you drop the head in place, see how far the copper line will go before deciding where to mount it or if you should buy additional line while at the plumbing supply store.
Okay, but be prepared for failure.
July 23, 2014
Order this item as a replacement for an existing unit about 4 years old. The old unit developed a leak, was disappointed. After reading the reviews I ordered this as a replacement, exact fit for the faucet.. etc. So I was curious as to what the failure was so I took the old unit apart. Indeed the tank is stainless steel, but the failure point was just a simple pressure release tube that runs from the top of one of the fittings to the relief valve. That tube is appears to be made of some type of silicon based material that is flexible, but the problem is IT IS NOT HEAT resistant. Over time the tube turned brown to black and eventually hardened to the point it cracked.. This is very disappointing, as they tout the unit as being built with a stainless steel tank etc.. They will never last, luck I got 4 years out of it... My suggestion buy an under the sink water alarm.. you will need it!.. I found it was leaking simply because the sink base was wet.. It is a slow leak which is even worst, as it will soak rather then flood. Again to bad.. Classic case of a good company cutting corners to make a buck. The unit is not worth the price , far from it...
Faulty Decorative Ring
June 20, 2014
This unit was remarkably easy to install and works perfectly. Two words of warning: 1) Make certain all connections are absolutely tight. Despite the implied lack of necessity, I used plumber's tape in order to insure a tight, leak-free fit, 2) The instructions, as I recall advise to finger-tighten the wing-bolt of the faucet fastener rather than use a wrench. Nonetheless, the decorative ring at the base of the faucet snapped in two locations. What makes me angry is that an expensive, otherwise upscale unit like this, comes with a very flimsy plastic ring that must cause pennies to mass manufacture. Shame on InSinkErator! I have opted not to replace it rather than have a piece of junk in view.
hot water again, yes
March 31, 2014
the actual insink erator works fine but the installation was not good...they didn't send all the parts needed...we were missing a nut and bolt and also had to go purchase extra piece of copper .....not happy

Short life-expectancy
July 30, 2016
I purchased this item approximately 1-1/2yrs ago. It replaced a previous sinkErator. Although it has serviced me well life expectancy has been brief. Given the cost it, has saved me money and time overall from not having to purchasing coffee on the way to work and avoiding long lines. However, I did not expect to have to replace it so soon! I will have to have my plumber come out again and pay him a service fee again- neither is something I am looking forward to do again. I will not purchase this model but will look into something with a longer life-expectancy.

The seller was great! But the hot water tap did not work. I have had 2 of the same models in the past, only lasts about 4-5 years. This model has been discontinued.

Had a problem with this unit constantly sounding like it was spitting. Turned it down to its lowest setting and that helped but overall I'm underwhelmed.
Noisy Product
August 23, 2015
The unit was easy to install but it makes a continual noise. We finally unplugged it to stop it. We will only plug it in when we know we are going to use it.
Inexpensive??, and it shows!
January 12, 2015
Flimsy quality, When water is hot, it starts spitting hot water and steam. Can only really be used on an intermittant basis, which really defeats the whole purpose. If in doubt, spend the money, and buy a better quality version.
Great product, disappointing lifetime utility
November 16, 2013
With an all-electric home, this is a great way to get a quick hot beverage but these things seem to last less than two years and I'm starting to wonder if it would just be less expensive, over time, to heat the water up in the microwave. The hot water dispensers from InSinkErator seem to last less time, each time I buy one. The last one endured for three years and this one lasted less than two. Before the one that lasted for three years, my InSinkErator lasted about 12 years!!!! Where's the quality going?

BEWARE of difficulty turning it on
March 18, 2015
I have trouble turning the faucet on, and liked the paddle one we had before better. I'm old, and can't get a grip on the round turner thing. It hurts my thumb and fingers. Water is hot, keeps temperature, but I don't readily use it like I used to, because of the difficulty I have turning it on. Now that we have it, it's installed, we can't return it. I'm sorry I bought it.We also have trouble with the whole faucet turning when we turn it on, it flops back and forth. Hubby has tightened it, but it gets loose again.
needs a better description
January 18, 2015
it is chrome, not stainless steel. just an fyi if it is important to you. needs a better description.
Not recommended.
December 5, 2014
Hard to turn the top knob and weak stream comes out. There is no good grip on this unit. This is only good for filling coffee cups. I like to use my instant hot for filling pots for pasta. This one takes forever. If it wasn't such a pain to uninstall and reinstall a new one, I would get rid of it.
Rating the ISE hot water dispenser
February 17, 2014
I specifically looked for anISE hot water dispenser because I had one before and liked it. It was quiet and not noticeable. The current model is noisy and fills all the time/or heats all the time It makes a strange noise under the sink so you walk around the kitchen trying to find it.If I had known about its current design I would not have purchased it. It does the job...but is noisy about it.Thus the rating includes its functionality...which is fine...but the noises are not.

This replaced a similar one from the same manufacturer that failed after a couple years . We installed a timer this time so it's only on during hours that someone is likely to use it. We'll see if that extends it's life. Pricey for what it is under any circumstances, but more so if it only lasts a few months. This product is garbage. 1'st one didn't last. 2nd one didn't work right out of the box. Junk junk junk. Do not buy under any circumstances.jmo
Don't recommend
May 31, 2014
Very low end. Tank is attached to the spigot making placement difficult in tight situations. Copper tank does not look substantial and water capacity is low. Above sink dispenser looks fragile and doesn't look like it would hold up well. I returned mine due to space issues. Ordered upgraded insinkerator model with stainless steel tank that attached to the outlet by way of tubing. Pleased with the upgraded model. Some installation problems with the new unit but nothing significant. Turned down the temp to the minimum meeting our needs. So far no heating noises or "spitting" when the water is dispensed. The HOT-1, although inexpensive, has very limited utility and is, I think, not an economical option for typical household use. I recommend paying the additional money for the upgraded mode.
Update - Valve frozen on arrival!
March 18, 2014
I previously posted that "The water valve that is controlled by the lever was frozen, and so the InSinkErator HOT-1 could not be successfully installed. We await a replacement."Four stars now!!! After receiving a call-back from InSinkErator customer service in the US (one has to endure the overseas customer service departments endless recitations of boilerplate knowledge-base postings before you have the opportunity to have them call you) I was sent a replacement unit. The replacement failed to perform properly, and a second replacement was sent. This one installed properly and works fine. I am very appreciative of the good customer service once I was able to speak with a truly knowledgeable person about my installation difficulties.I will note the previous postings regarding turning down the heat setting. Be aware that if you have a triple sink, one with a center disposal drain, the installation may be very tight, and it will be more difficult to tighten the unit in place. Note also that the instructions regarding affixing the black plastic valve lever are minimal. It is wise to experiment with how the lever piece snaps on to the brass valve t-shaft to be sure it is on securely. Also, be sure the rubber gasket is properly affixed to the spout before you insert it into the heater, and be sure, also, that it seats correctly. If you handle the installation carefully, and if your unit has no inherent defects, you should be satisfied. The value is excellent!
Defective product
December 27, 2013
Product was defective. It came with a visible crack in the tank. When we contacted customer service it was an off-shore company who did not speak clear English and who kept assuming we had installed the product incorrectly. They were verbally rude to my husband and upset him. When we could finally get to speak with the local warrantee company they did not have the product in stock, ordered and then had to re-order, after a check-up call from me, because the factory forgot to ship the order. It took over 6 weeks to get a working product, while we were charged for the product within the first week of ordering. We will look for every opportunity to avoid this product in the future.
Garbage
February 14, 2013
During the 15 years I owned my home, I went through three of these. The first mistake was understandable, as I didn't know this is the "disposable" model offered by Insinkerator. The second mistake ... well, I should have known better, but I thought that I'd have to replace it with the identical model. You don't, as the hole in the countertop is standard for many hot water dispensers. But the third one? That was only because number two died while I was in the process of selling the house. So, I was not about to replace it with a high-end model at higher price ... the buyers were not nice people. But don't make my mistake. Avoid this, pay twice or three times as much for a different manufacturer's product, and save yourself grief and the plumber's labor costs, because you'll be replacing this piece of garbage in a few years.
Brand New Product But is Faulty and Fixing is a Huge Hassle
November 3, 2010
This product arrived from Amazon packaged brand new from the manufacturer, InSinkErator. I have had 2 of these over the past 13 years and one lasted 7 years and one lasted 6 years. The heating unit eventually stops working. From what I read from other reviews, my 2 lasted a long time. I have always been happy with them and didn't think much of having to buy another one. After researching many outlets from plumbing supply stores to here, I decided to buy this here. The transaction was smooth and, like I said, it arrived without a problem. However, once I had it installed by my regular plumber, who installed the previous one 6 years ago, it never seemed to work correctly. It took a long time for the water to come through the unit and it hissed and spit more than usual. I figured it might get better in a few days, but it never did. About a week later I found water in the cabinet under the sink. I couldn't figure out where it was coming from, but unplugged the unit because it was wet near the plug.It took several weeks for the plumber to come out to look at it because of my busy schedule and his. He determined that the unit was leaking from the bottom behind where the cord is attached to the unit. There is a very small opening behind the cord where you can see the actual metal tank inside the black casing. The silver metal is no longer silver, it's copper-colored--it has rusted from the leaking water. This explained why the water took so long to come through the unit and why it was hissing and spitting more than usual: the unit was not staying full of water, as it is supposed to, because it was leaking out. Because this product has been opened, it cannot be returned to Amazon, even for an exchange, which is all I want. I had to call the manufacturer, explain my problem (to someone I had a lot of trouble understanding), and have them give me an "authorized service center" in my area. Now I have to make an appointment with them to come out and re-determine that the unit is faulty and have them install a new one. At least they better install a new one!I am very unhappy with InSinkErator because this product is faulty, and even more unhappy with Amazon for their "non-return policy" on products that are faulty/damaged/open. How am I supposed to know if it is faulty/damaged if I can't open it??!! There is no way to contact them, either, as I spent a half hour looking all over the site for some way to call or email them about my predicament and ask for their help. So I am using this forum to warn people about the possibility of having a problem with a product and then not having any recourse through Amazon. You will have to deal with the manufacturer and hence another installer. I prefer to use my own plumber that I have known over 10 years and trust completely. I hope this turns out well for me and wish the next buyer better luck than I have had.

Disappointed in this product.

I am so disappointed---this was installed in my newly renovated kitchen just under 3 months ago and has already stopped working...beautiful but no good. I had one by another company that lasted over 10 years. Please do not purchase this brand.

This is cheap plastic junk. I bought two and one lasted 7 months before the plastic knob broke. They don't sell parts so now I will have to live with a busted knob or buy a whole new unit.

Doesn't include all the parts. Requires purchase of a separate quarter inch brass nut and ferrule. Infuriating.
Not Worth the Money

What I ordered and what showed up were 2 different models - ordered a turn knob and got a push button. Have had prior models - this one has a lot more plastic and not as rugged. Will be interesting to see how long it lasts. Does not come with all required parts to attach to copper water lines. Required purchase of fittings at hardware store.Does produce very hot water and significant volume.Has a mind of its own and spews steam when not even in use. Hazardous and annoying.
Sadly disappointed.

This was my second choice for an instant hot because the first choice didn't fit through the hole in the granite. With that said, it did not come with all the parts. So, installer had to come twice. It is now installed. The knob is hard to turn. Hopefully, it will relax with use. My biggest complaint is that it is LOUD. I guess it reheats or whatever frequently because there is a loud gurgling sound. It does heat water and we desperately need that. I would not recommend this unit.
Missing Parts... Poor Quality Control
September 2, 2015
Plumber could not install due to missing parts. And because I was away visiting my grandkids while my kitchen was renovated, I could not return it. Now I discover I'm outside of the return window by 2 weeks. Meanwhile I already ordered another Instahot from a different manufacturer on Amazon. So I guess I will be stuck hanging on to this.
