The Camcorder is great for kids who wanna try it out and learn from it, however for adults I would not recommend it due to how small the actual camera is, The SD port is very clean even tho its on the bottom of the camera, the delivery from HITEX was amazing and fast, however the lifespan with 3 AAA is very short.. Other then that my kid will love this camera

Vivitar DVR-508 High Definition Digital Video camera it is SMALL. I have not dowloaded the videos yet but I can take this camera ANYWHERE. It fits in any of my purses/bags. It is easy to change and to use!

For the price very nice. Its a cheap camera but take decent videos this is the perfect camera to loose. Unless you have very private videos on it loosing it would not hurt at all for 29 bucks. I left a 400 dollar cam at the game and that really hurt.

You are awesome. I have tried for months to get my husband a camcorder that he can use for his studio. Neither of us know anything about camcorders, however, I have been trying to order him one. I would either get the cord but I would never get the camcorder. I have always had great experiences working with Amazon. You have high quality things for the cheapest prices and they are well worth the money. I had given up because of the limited funds and getting things from other places rather than Amazon. Amazon saved the day. They made sure my money was back on my card so I could purchase more things without having to wait. They made an executive decision to send me a camcorder that they knew about and it had the sim card, cord, and everything my husband needed. He saw the truck drive up and deliver the package on SUNDAY. When we checked out the package we were like two children on Christmas morning. Amazon I cannot thank you enough. You brought every thing together for us when we didn't know what we wanted. We will be singing your praises from now on. Thank you Thank you and Thank you.

This product was extremely lightweight and small. It fit my daughter's hands perfectly. It is extremely easy for her to use it and the buttons are self-explanatory. Now she has something to keep her family memories in. This is absolutely nothing compared to a diary. She video records her secrets and views them later. She can also take pictures with it.

i got this for my 10yr old future movie maker. He loves it. I just wish it came with the batteries. I didnt have any and he had to wait until i could get some. I will buy from this seller again

Great little backup camcorder. Quality isn't as good as others, but considering the price, this works well. Took a little to figure out how to work everything, but once we did, it's pretty easy.Like that the holding area fits small hands for tweens, teens, and women.

Works great! I bought this for my 9 year old for Christmas, and she loves it! It is great as a gift for your child, but it is cheaply made. It is very light....feels like plastic....and to me it feels like it could break quite easily. It does not work without a SIM card, so be ready to buy one. Runs on a built in battery, but also takes AAA batteries. If you are wanting a camcorder for the family this one probably isn't for you. This camcorder...in my opinion....is best for a gift for a child.

Exactly what I thought. It's very small probably ment for a child but I like that it's not bulky. It is all plastic so might not be the greatest quality but it comes with a 1 year manufacturer warranty. For 30 bucks I'm not complaining - people that are giving poor reviews obviously didn't read about the product before purchasing.

I've wanted this for a very long time just for fun stuff ! It's little and has the packaging on so tight I don't even want to get a scissors and fight with it because taking the plastic off is going to be hard and a fight! It's an affordable purchase for something that's been on my wish list forever! merry Christmas to me!

Bought this as a gift for a tech savvy 6-year-old. It is the perfect ultra small size for her hand. It has some very basic camcorder functionality, as well as various advanced settings available. Yet simple enough for a child to operate. The recording quality is pretty good for under $30. We've already had a lot of fun playing with it. I would not recommend this as a family camcorder for recording important events such as weddings and sporting events. If that is what you are looking for you can likely find something more suited to your need for more money.

I thought it was great for the price. Small,and compact. Great to take outdoors for hiking pictures. now i can send pics to family and friends.

This product arrived and it looked actually really smaller than it was displayed.. but it still was usable which was great. It also came with a disk to install the software on your laptop, however I lost mine after a few months as I misplaced it somewhere. This product is actually very nice for the price it was, however there are some pros and cons that come along with it.PRO's:- Very small, can take it to travel anywhere- Cheap but manageable- Easy to useCON's:- Very small, easy to misplace- Disk installer is also easy to misplace- Quality is not HD as advertised

I'm disappointed in this camcorder... Bought it for my 7 year old grand daughter for Christmas...She loves making movies with her action figures using my Kindle or phone, so I thought I'd get her a camera.She tried it and didn't like the restrictions using this camera put on her creativity. She still perfers the ease of use of my Kindle.I think I'm going to try a go-pro for her next.I love watching her movies and hearing her narrative and want to encourage her to continue... Just need to find the right vehicle for her.

It's kinda of cheap feeling, but seriously for the price what did you think you were getting? Not to sure about the picture quality either, but again price vs quality? I didn't buy this for my, I bought this for my toddler who is always trying to play with my much more expensive one, and so far it has worked out great. She enjoys "being like mommy" and its a great hand eye coordination tool. So for the price, this was exactly what I wanted. However if you want good quality video and something that is bigger than the palm of your hand, you should spend the money for a good one. All in all I actually really like it for my daughter and she loves it, so all is right in her world. Plus side it comes with all its cables so you can show everyone what shes videoed, does not come with batteries, takes 4 AAA's, or a SD card.

This little dainty camera is smaller than I expected or as portrayed on the image. It fits snuggly in my wrist and it operates easily. It is very light weight and has a pretty red shinny color. The screen is small but scenes are very visual. It comes with a TV cable, an installation CD and a USB cable, but NOT an SD Memory Card. I have to go out and buy one because on the screen it demands that one be placed inside camera, even though it comes with 250MB of free space. I'm not sure how many hours that amounts to while taping. I believe it is always best to have several SD memory cards on hand just in case it poofs out. In addition, 3 AAA batteries will be needed to install inside the camera for backup purposes or to use when the camera powers down.In my opinion, I believe that this camera is more suitable for a teenager or small child who is just experimenting with learning how to use such an item. But who would want to pay over $100 for such a toy? Not me!

Item was shipped very fast, customer service was outstanding, great price, product was exactly as described and explained, but the batteries for super quick and the digital display is not in HD and therefore is extremely blurry and grainy. But the footage covered is in HD once downloaded, it's very compact and user friendly, stylish. We may have to upgrade soon, but the kids are loving it, seems very practical for them.

Ok, so it definitely isn't for someone that is wanting a high quality picture and probably wouldn't be any good for filming sporting events or plays, but for an 8-13 year old that is just starting to experiment with making their own videos, it's great. The price is low and that makes it easy to hand it over to those who aren't so easy on their things, and it's small, so it works great in smaller hands. We bought it as a birthday gift for our 10 year old, who just started to make his own videos and he loves it.

The camera quality is very poor, now this could be user error but I haven't had any luck in making the video quality any better. I was very disappointed with this product and will have to look elsewhere for where I will be getting a better video camera.

As the saying goes, you get what you pay for, and this camcorder is no exception. THE GOOD: This camera is very easy to operate and you can quickly switch between photo album, camera and video modes with the press of a button. The 2.7 LCD screen's display is vibrant and colorful. The use of colorful decals gives the appearance of a high-end camera. THE BAD: The still images and video this camera takes, even on the highest resolution, are of extremely poor quality, reminisce of an early flip phone. The zoom is choppy, and image quality deteriorates as zoom is enhanced. I'm not sure if the camera I received is defective, but I can feel something clunk from side-to-side inside the lens body as I gently tip the camera lengthwise, back and forth. The camera is made entirely of plastic, Parts that look like they could be metal, such as the lens bezel, are actually chromed plastic. This would be a suitable camera for a child to learn and play with, but not for capturing your lasting memories.

This video camera really gives the term "you get what you paid for". It's very cheap looking in person and it feels like cheap material

I bought this for my seven year old brother that wants to be a youtuber for Christmas. He only got one set of batteries use out of it! We went to put in new batteries today and it won't turn on unless plugged into the computer! And the return window for this item closed YESTERDAY.

Not a bad camera, I suppose, but it really is a toy. The thing is lighter than a fisher-price item and not quite as sturdy. I thought I would be able to buy this to shoot YouTube videos, but it really doesn't live up to internet standards. Also--memory card not included, so be sure you buy the right one for it to work. Some of them won't let the camera record.

We couldn't figure out how to get the thing to work. It's a very cheap plastic recorder. Basically went in the trash a few days after getting. It was supposed to be a birthday gift but it was a total flop. The screen to see what you are recording is terrible. It reminds me of how the very first digital cameras looked. It's so cheap that I should have known that it wouldn't be nice or good quality.

It was cheap and the battery did not last very long. Not a lot of memory- you get what you pay for..... It broke about a month after we got it.

The picture quality and sound is terrible. The battery life is very short, I had to buy rechargeable batteries and always have to recharge them after only 30 minute recording sessions. Also, it does not record a full 30 minutes, it breaks videos up into about 13 minute increments which can be a little irritating at times. You get what you pay for with this product, I just assumed that since this is a Vivitar brand, it would have been a little better quality.

Don't buy this camera, the 60hz is crap on 1080, sound is terrible and it broke the first 10 minutes I try to use it. It's a chinese product so that says a lot

If I could give them NO STARS I would!Horrible recording... Horrible volume recording.... No HD components so you can play HD and you can't view HD in such a small screen. Pictures are DEFINITELY NOT 16M!! Pictures taken come out no better then a old flip phone! Waste of time and money! They advise the quality is as mentioned and will NOT refund money anyways. DON'T BUY FROM THIS SELLER.

Camera did not work and it was returned

Absolute garbage, got for my daughter for Christmas and put brand new batteries in and wont even turn on. Waste of money

Exactly as the title says. In this case, purchasing a 26$ camera is very cheap, and that's exactly what you get with this camera. The description for this camera is inadequate. The audio is horrible, and the "720p" is closer to 360p that's a bit sharper as opposed to grainy. Mine wouldn't turn on at first, even with the recommended triple A batteries. I had to go out and purchase Alkaline batteries in order for it to even turn on, which was a major downside. Along with that, the camera itself feels cheap to hold. It is made of very flimsy plastic and I have no doubt that one or two drops would render it completely unusable. Save your money and purchase a more expensive camera that will give you better quality in everything and be more worth your time. If you'd like to try it for yourself, at least purchase it off of Amazon, where you can return it. I would not recommend this product.

This camcorder is a disappointment. All of the videos I've taken with this camera came out unviewable (too dark). Can't get those moments back. I tried one more time last night, and even with a light on in the room (as bright as day) and using the LED on the camera, the video came out too dark...couldn't see anything that was recorded. The sound quality is awful; there is an odd, intermittent clicking noise when viewing the video on playback. Aren't these devices tested before being sold? The setup isn't an easy process, either. The buttons are confusing when it comes to trying to navigate while recording a video or taking a picture. Just not as clear cut a process as I was hoping for. All I wanted was an affordable, small, easy-to-use camcorder for recording and saving memories. I thought I was getting a good thing by choosing a Vivitar. I'll stay away from that brand during my next search for a camcorder. I don't like throwing things away, but this camera is taking its last ride...to the dump.

I purchased this for my little sister (9 years old) as a birthday gift, as she always has a use for a video camera on her outdoor adventures, and sometimes, a cell phone or iPod camera just doesn't cut it. Being that it's just her first video camera, I didn't want to go out and spend hundreds of dollars... I'm realizing now that I probably should have. At nobody's fault but my own, I didn't notice that it required 3 AAA batteries. I guess I kind of assumed that the camera had a lithium ion battery. The plastic is VERY weak, and can easily break if set down too soft.... No seriously, it's like holding a feather. You're afraid you're going to break it every time you touch it. The image quality is terrible, and the video quality even worse. I know I'm being really critical, but could it kill a company to make something of descent quality? Cameras like this are generally in the hands of younger children, and we all know that they are not gentle beings. I would not recommend this to anyone that wants something worth their money.

I really don't like leaving negative feedback but I am SO disappointed in this camera, it seemed perfect for my 8 year old's birthday gift! He was SO excited to get it but its majorly defective - I had to order a SD card separately which was NOT mentioned at all when I ordered it, I put in the card and the 3 AAA batteries and it did NOTHING except show a white screen.. it came with a "customer service" hotline to call before you return it, and we called several times only to be put on hold for 5 minutes!!!!! What a waste - I normally wouldn't spend time writing this but I want to warn others.
