I received it and everything looked great, I was excited to use it
August 24, 2016
I bought this camera to take on my Hawaii vacation next month. I received it and everything looked great, I was excited to use it. I took it to the lake last weekend and used it for wake boarding pictures and videos. I never go the camera wet, but I did leave it in the waterproof case. After reviewing the pictures I noticed that there was a blurry spot in the middle of every picture... I inspected the camera and it looked fine. I inspected the case and noticed that the lens had a tiny defect right in the middle of the lens on the case causing all of my pictures to be ruined. I am so glad I noticed it before I took the camera to Hawaii and all of those pictures got ruined. I emailed the seller hoping they will replace the case ASAP. I will update this if/when I hear back from them.UPDATE: The seller sent me a new case. It was a little different from the previous one, but that was fine. I tried the camera in this case and no more blurry spot so all is good :)
Great product for the cost!!
June 24, 2016
I got this for my trip to Dubai and it worked amazingly. It isn't the go pro but for a knock off brand it did the job. The waterproof case definitely works to its potential. The fact that you can control it with your phone as well is a definite plus. The video quality is superb. The mounting kit that it came with was great, as well. The directions on how to mount certain ways was sometimes difficult to understand with all the pieces but we were able to figure it out. For the cost, it is definitely an up to par product!!!
Nice little camera
June 8, 2016
This is a cool little camera for those just beginning this type of photography. The 1080 mode is great with slower action but is lacking when there is some fast motion. Due to the 30 frames per second capture rate it gets a little choppy. The 720 mode shoots at 60 frames per second. It's much smoother than the 1080 for fast paced situations. I found getting around the setup menu very easy once I went through everything a few times. I haven't had it very long and it's already survived a roll over while mounted on my radio control truck and a dunk in the lake on the back of my dog. This isn't a GoPro but for the price it's a great entry level camera. If you want to expand your video possibilities purchase one of these accessory bags with all the straps and connectors and try them all. They go for as little as $12 for a good assortment of stuff. This is an inexpensive way to get your feet wet with sports photography.
Love this little camera

Love this little camera. We just used it today for the first time while zip lining and rappeling and the quality of the pictures and video is amazing! I was expecting less than this...

I'm quite happy with these Anart cameras. I've purchased two, both with the wifi, one with the 170 deg. lens and the other with ,140 deg lens. Personally I prefer the 140, simply because there is less distortion and lens flair. I've never owned anything similar, so I have nothing to compare them with. And I'm not Steven Spielberg, so I didn't have great expectations or expect these cameras produce professional quality video. Though, I have been a ameture photographer for many years and I'm quite surprised with the quality of the images produced for such a small package.Cons: With such a tiny lens you can't expect them to handle certain lighting situations. Direct sunlight causes lots of lens flare, but so do many professional lens. These cameras don't adjust quickly to sudden light changes or compensate well for differences between high low contrasts lighting. But how can you expect it with a small sensor. With all photograph it is about the light.Pros: Easy to operate and very good image quality. Cameras come with plenty of accessories for a vast array of mount situations. They are rugged, I've mounted them on a drone and they have taken some hard falls without damage. Lots fun and entertaining.I dropped one the cameras on concrete hitting the lens putting a small mark on it, causing the images to be blurred in one spot. So, I ordered a Gopro Hero II lens and replaced it. I could not distinguish a difference between the two lens. Replacing the lens was fairly simple. As far as I'm concerned, its hard to say anything bad about these cameras, especially for the price.

and this camera didn't disappoint. The picture and video is clear and performs ...
June 1, 2016
I bought this camera as a cheaper alternative to a GoPro as knowing that I would not be using it as often and could not justify spending the money on the latest GoPro, and this camera didn't disappoint. The picture and video is clear and performs well. There are slight differences between this camera and the more expensive models, but for the price it is definitely worth it. I bought this for an upcoming river trip and based on my use with it so far, I believe that it will serve well even in brighter conditions out on the river.Pros: good picture clarity, good video quality, durable casing, comes with a good amount of clips/mounts. This camera gets the job done for what my intended use is with it. The price point is great and I can only notice subtle differences between this and similar cameras such as a GoPro. You get the bang for your buck if you are on a budget.Cons: the software is a bit tricky to understand at first, meaning the camera is not as user friendly as I wanted it to be. But once you get to tinkering with it a bit and play around with the features, it is rather easy to use. The one mount I wish it came with was a hat clip. Another nice feature would be a floating strap for use on the water, although I just ended up purchasing one for cheap.
Great camera
June 1, 2016
I liked the camera for the most part but for some reason my battery wouldn't hold a charge. The company offered to send me a new battery but the biggest problem I had was I couldn't open the water proof case because of arthritis in my hands. It was very difficult for me so I had to return it. Otherwise I think it's probably a great camera for most people.
Seems like a good action cam
May 4, 2016
So I received my GeekPro camerapretty on the date originally specified when I ordered and got the free shipping. The camera arrived well packaged with no damage. Now this is my first camera of this style so I was a bit confused with all of the different mounting accessories so I looked to the directions for assistance. Not a real big help there though the pictograms put me on the right direction. I guess my eyesight isn't what it used to be and they were a bit small. I got lost navigating the menu a few times but as I get more familiar with it there shouldn't be a problem. For the price, I can deal with these small issues. The only thing I really wish was that there was a suction cup mount included but I have one ordered now soooo... Seems like a pretty sturdy case and I guess it should do what I need it to. I'll update this later if I discover anything else
The Geek gets it done
May 2, 2016
Out of the box it took very little time to be up and running with this little geek.Intuitive controls lead the charge as you get up the proper menus, set resolution and other camera functions and before you know it you're running video. The down sides, the camera wants to stay on after it's been charged and you will probably need to remove and re insert the battery to get the red indicator lights out. The manual is fairly complete but never clearly explains how to download the material to you computer or tablet to edit. After several failed attempts using the software/Ap that they advise you download to your phone. This Ap enables you to view what you record or set up before recording through an android or apple device, but doesn't as easily view or control what files are on the camera. I now conclude it's only intended for camera view and record control when recording - not while viewing back. There is another port on the side of the camera right next to the mini usb for charging but the manual doesn't explain what it is and there is no cable provided for it.Ultimately I realized I could try the old school hack of the USB port on my laptop out of the same charging mini usb on the camera.... and it worked! This allowed me to transfer the MOV files ( which my android device wouldn't play anyway) to my computer. All in all a decent product with good quality that could use a little manual tweeking and better software to support the product, but overall a win!
How can you go wrong at this price?
March 28, 2016
I have to admit that I was amazed at how well the GeekPro really works. The outdoor color is quite good and once you master the settings, it's easy to use. I recorded some files inside under CFL bulbs at a worksite and since you can't adjust the color temperature, the color was way off but still usable for me. This little cam even records decent sound although it required a little tweaking while editing. Obviously, the 170 degree field of view takes a little getting used to but that's common in action cams. I've simply never owned one before. One oddity that I found was that in editing, FCP reported a frame rate of 29.791 fps. Looks like whoever designed the software for the cam reversed one number: the actual 30 fps frame rate should be 29.97 fps. That didn't make much difference once I transcoded to 30 fps .MP4.All in all, well worth the modest price and it will fun to experiment with an action cam.
GeekPro Review
January 13, 2016
The GeekPro Pro 1 Wifi 12MP Full HD 1080P Sports Camera Waterproof Action DV 170° Wide Helmet Camcorder DVR Sport Camera Action Camera DV Camcorder is a superior purchase and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in an quality action cam at a very reasonable price.Upon receiving the GeekPro Action Camcorder I inspected the contents and got a feel for the qualty. It is comparable in durable quality manufacturing to the unmentionable and far too expensive brands I have handled in stores. You could not ask for more accessories. I do recommend customers to order a chest strap, head strap, extra battery and charger for extended use, mini SD card for picture and video storage, and case for travel protection. After charging the battery I began accessing the entire options and following the instructions for use. Very simple to use and the picture and video quality are excellent! I plan on taking it snow tubing soon, hiking in the spring and have yet to test the device in an underwater situation but look forward to in the summer. I look forward to many years of enjoyment of my GeekPro!!!My only complaint is the screen size. The area of screen is a little small and could have taken up the entire back space of the camcorder. And seeing the price drop $20.00 just after purchasing it was a big disappointment as well. The SmartDV wifi app recommended was very easy to use and navigate and funtion as well to monitor the placement of the GeekPro.Anyone interested in an action cam should strongly consider this one for sure! Super fast shipment and great serviice.Thank you GeekPro for such an awesome product!!!Chad S.

Its cheaper than a Go Pro
August 23, 2016
We bought this for a river trip so we could float and take pictures. The waterproof case has something right in the middle of the lens that makes every single picture blurry --smack dab in the middle. Outside of the case, the pictures and videos are pretty good. However, it came without any instructions and I had a hard time maneuvering it.
Pretty good.
April 25, 2016
I think that the screen could be bigger, that the app could be updated ( on the app show how to contect the video camera to it ), when videoing a long video the screen dims and you don't know if it's still video, or if it's dead, and better battery life. Other then that I think it's pretty good. I haven't it used it a ton so far, but I have liked it. After you figure out how to use it I think it's pretty good. '''
HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT RECODING TIME! HELP
January 7, 2016
Just received my Geekpro Action Camera. Easy to set up easy to use. All the accessories that are shown were all in the box as well. Quick delivery. One issue in having with it is that it's only allowing me to take 1 minute videos. I've gone through the settings and I'm not seeing any way to adjust this. User manual says nothing about this either. If anyone can offer their expertise that would be great. If this camera only takes one minute videos I would not recommend this, you'd be better off spending the extra money on the real deal.
Great camera, still needs improvement.
December 9, 2015
I love this camera but the problem I have is that when I set it up to 12MP and the image is not clearer than if I took a picture with my iphone. I have a cell phone with camera of 5MP & the image still looks better than the camera at 12MP. The app is too slow. The video looks great in the camera but when I watch it in my PC it does not look like 1080p. The best place to use it is I'll say when it is relly bright.
THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THE SOFTWARE.
October 7, 2015
Just search "Sports Camera" and see how this GeekPro camera is the identical model to the "DBPower EX5000", "SJ 4000", "GooKit","ASX ActionPro-X", "Neewer 1080", "ANART SPC-04-S" etc, etc. The list goes on. All the exact same 2.0 MP 1080p action camera, just branded under different retailers.Having owned the SJ4000 before I am able to compare the two. They are both wifi cameras, the only difference is the brandin/packaging and the software. I bought the SJ4000 because it's quality cheaply matched a Go-Pro for the price (but had the lcd screen as a bonus) and was being sold by B&H, a reputable audio/video company, so it had to be at least somewhat legitimate. So what did I not like about the GeekPro vs the SJ4000? Aren't they virtually the same? The SJ4000 has better software allowing for 4 or more options in recording size/speed, whereas the GeekPro only has 2 iirc. The SJ4000 has a VERY IMPORTANT feature called "Car Mode" where it automatically turns on and off with your car's ignition key when plugged in. That is why I am returning the GeekPro and getting another SJ4000. The packaging is different but both come with instructions (The SJ is better and more detailed) and they each have the same accessory count. I ran over my first SJ4000 with my Mercedes when the suction cup failed and the case broke but the camera was largely intact! Great case!I did like the exposure at night with the GeekPro, but it was overexposed in daylight, with the meter at 0. It is adjustable, however, but navigating the menus on the GeekPro was more difficult than the SJ4000. It also had weird bugs with turning on the Wifi mode whenever I tried charging it. It annoyed and frustrated me. The SJ exposure metering was always great and on point day or night. Battery life sucks for both cameras, but the SJ was slightly better. I could only get an hour of recording with a fully charged GeekPro. About 1.5 with the SJ4000. Having an LCD doesn't help while it's not plugged in during recording. The screensaver option is a must for both. The GeekPro gives you a battery percentage, which is nice. The SJ4000 only has a picture of a discharging battery with a 3/4, 1/2 and 1/4 meter. The audio is muffled for both, especially with the waterproof case. The case is excellent, however, as stated above. I am looking forward to taking it underwater in the near future. All in all a great camera, but for another $20 or so I will always choose the SJ4000 with CAR MODE and an easier hands-free features. Thanks for reading.
Liked the camera and features and price so bought last ...
September 25, 2015
Liked the camera and features and price so bought last minute before snorkeling/diving vacation. Unfortunately, when using, the camera in video mode, it would record, but then would freeze up and none of the control buttons would work. The only solution was to dry off, remove camera from casing then remove and reinsert the battery. The camera would again work for a few times then freeze up. The majority of my videos were lost and never saved to my 32 gb micro sd card. I did receive great service from company and amazon accepted my return request without question. Greatest disappointment is the loss of most of the underwater shots from my trip to Cozumel. The WIFI was great and resolution of videos awesome when using the micro HDMI output. I still recommend the product over more expensive brands, but advise buyers to thoroughly test before using to assure it operates fully and is not defective.

Horrible camera
December 30, 2016
The manufacturer obviously doesn't know what 'Pro' means. This camera sucks! Battery life like 37 minutes, picture quality terrible. The neighbor's kids are playing with it. Don't waste your money, buy the REAL thing. We bought a refurbished Go Pro and it's just awesome.

February 18, 2016
This has good pic and sound but it seems like mine was a previous return. After inventorying all parts, there were several missing. I contacted seller several times about a manual and how to work all the options, but no "REAL" response. I just bought the 3.0. I would also like to point out both that both the charger, usb cable and battery were all defect.
Just awful
February 5, 2016
Save your time and buy yourself a different camera because this cheap knock off isn't worth the headache. For starters, the battery lasts all of an hour fully charged but needs atleast 5 hours to recharge back to full.Second, the camera occasionally tints the whole recording in a shade of blue for no apparent reason.Third, the app that connects to it is awful.Fourth, it is definitely not user fiendly for both the customizable options and the lack of instruction manual in the box.It simply is an awful camera and not worth the money I paid for it.
Not usable after 5 months - very unhappy!
January 20, 2016
I purchased 2 of these cameras for Christmas 2015. One for my 10 yr old son and the other for my 16 yr old step son. The boys are loving their cameras! My son took it snowboarding and it was very fun to watch the videos he recorded. From previous reviews I was nervous about the quality of the video, but I am not disappointed! The quality was quite nice and very crisp. I am rather picky on image quality so I am extremely pleased with this camera. I am excited to see what else my kids will do with these! For the amazing price, ease of use, and certainly the cost - I would highly recommend this camera!5 months later - I was promised an additional battery for each of my cameras as long as I wrote a review. I have never received these extra batteries for either of the 2 cameras I purchased. My son used the camera a little over the winter then forgot about it for a few months. Now he is using it quite a bit, but unfortunately it is filming in a very jumpy/sow manner which makes the camera useless. Not sure if it is a battery issue or whether the camera is just not working anymore.Unhappy consumer! Especially since I talked my neighbor into purchasing the same camera last month.
Sensor is NOT 12MP. Android app is broken.
November 5, 2015
The camera sensor is clearly not 12MP. The images are very blocky without zooming in much, looking exactly as you'd expect if you took a low-resolution image and upscaled it to 12MP. Near as I can tell, the true resolution is probably 640x480 (less than 1MP)... basically a cheap webcam. The Android app is buggy, hasn't been updated in a year, and doesn't work with the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow. They'll probably never fix it, so eventually the WiFi feature will become useless. But honestly? What do you expect for this price. It does come with a ton of mounting options. It works.. sort of.
You get what you pay for.
October 5, 2015
You get what you pay for. Video seemed to work, but time lapse pics did not, they came out corrupted. Also the waterproof case spring clamp also busted on me. I had to manually attach it multiple times, it did not feel secure.. It was just not worth the hassle.

Wouldn't go off. Now won't turn on.
November 20, 2016
This camera worked for us for about 2 weeks. We never put it through anything rough. I got the camera to film a professional kitchen environment. On the last day I used it, it would not let us turn the camera off. So of course the battery drained and it shut down. Well now it will not charge nor turn on.I just now got around to review this product because I have been busy with our wedding. So of course I'm beyond the return date.

** Updated Review **
March 30, 2016
Updated product review. Started off what seemed to be a fun alternative to the more popular brand, but after a dozen uses in and out of water, the latch on the waterproof case fails, completely immersing the camera in river water. Product failure. Too late for refund.
battery issues
March 6, 2016
Was very impressed with this initially. I purchased it to record my lessons in the classroom for observation purposes. Initially, my only complaint was that there was a buzzing sound throughout the audio. Otherwise, it worked quite well. However, after using 3 times, it no longer would charge sufficiently and if I could get it to charge it would not remain charged...consequently it proved useless.
Case is either too tight and/ or does not line up correctly. Pushes against the front power button continuously. Does not work.
February 8, 2016
The waterproof case is either so tight and/ or does not line up correctly, that pushes it against the front power button continuously, so it does not work. The case button doesn't stick out or anything either; I checked over everything possible very systematically and thoroughly. So I'm returning this pos and buying a real GoPro (Hero+). Side note, I'm not getting one with the lcd screen now because they're really, REALLY small, and I can use my smart phone or tablet and view everything on a bigger screen.
