Best above ground pool we've ever bought
August 8, 2017
This is a great pool! I ordered it back in May and I wanted to give it a little while before I reviewed it. It was super easy to set up. We just leveled the ground, pulled out the wrinkles, aired up the sides and filled it up. Excellent pump that comes with it, by the way. After all of this time, the only chemicals I have put in the pool are chlorine tablets and 1 package of shock it, and I've only changed the filter once. We keep the chlorine tablets in a floater and I put a new one in every week. I shocked it once after a heavy rain and haven't had to do anything else so far.
Good

I ordered the 12x30. Its easy to setup, comes with instruction manuals, instruction DVD, the pool & the pump. You will need a hand or foot pump to inflate the top ring, and if your yard has stickers you will need to purchase a tarp. This pool also don't come with a cover so that maybe something you will want to buy later on. This size is good for 3-4 people. We also have a 5lb yorkie that has her own dog floaty that she floats around on but we don't let her on the inflatable top ring as her claws could puncture it. Overall it's a good pool, perfect for just cooling off and lounging it but it should really come with a small hand pump for the inflatable top ring and every size optionneeds to come with at least a ground cover tarp.
Great Pool, but not easy-set if your ground is not level
July 8, 2017
Great pool, we got it for a great price so it has definitely been worth it.There are 3 things to stress if you are thinking of purchasing this pool, Level. Level. Level. You can't just "wing it" and hope your ground is level. You need to check it with a level. My yard seemed level, but it actually took us 3 days to get the yard level, (a royal pain) but once that that part was complete, set up was not too bad.We have been enjoying the pool for 2 weeks, and so far it has been great. We bought the Intex salt water system to work with the filter and all we needed was four 40 lb bags of salt. Love it.
Super Pool!

We love our intex pool! Get a saltwater and sand filter. Fits five family members age 12 to 56 easily. I recommend buying a more substantial pool ladder. The one it comes with works but not super sturdy.
Cool down fast and easy with this pool!

Great Pool! Bought this to replace our 8ft Intex. Easy to put up and maintain. Love it!
Easy entry point into pool ownership.
June 25, 2016
The very first thing to note is 2 things. First, the pool is great. You can't go wrong here. Second, keep in mind, it's not just the pool you'll need. The this version of the pool comes with a pump, necessary hoses, and 2 filters. Intex sells additional filters as singles or in a pack of 6. The filters you need are: Intex 29000E/59900E.We bought the 12 foot version in May of 2016. It's worked great so far. It took about an hour to setup. I used a tarp underneath which Intex does not recommend, but we did it anyway to protect the bottom. It took about 3-4 hours to fill up the pool. This one comes with the pump and filter setup which is a must to keep the water clean. We also bought some basic pool chemicals, and both available covers by Intex. The cover we use the most is the solar cover. Where we live its around 90-100 degrees F daily. You should also have a strainer for this pool to get the leaves and larger organic matter out of the pool. The included pump/filter setup is really just the get the stuff the strainer can't get.As far as having flat ground, Intex makes a big deal about having this pool level. See the picture of our setup. It's basically like a big bag, so think of what happens when you fill a bag with water on an uneven surface. It's going to roll to one side a bit. In my case the ground is about 4 inches lower on one side than the other. The pool still works fine in my opinion, just the water is not as deep as it could be, but I have a 2 year old and a 4 year old. The 2 year old can touch the bottom with ease yet the pool is still deep enough to for my 4 year old to swim laps and for my 6.5 foot frame to swim under water.I've never maintained my own pool before so I got some water test strips, PH booster, and Chorine Sanitizer. I have to put about 1/3 cup chlorine in per week. Go easy on the PH booster because using that will increase the Total Alkalinity, I recommend the Clorox pool products. Intex recommends you change the filter every 2 weeks. The first time I changed the filter at two weeks I saw surprised at how much gunk was in it. It seems like you could clean it yourself to extend the life of the filter but will try that next time. For a season Intex sells a six pack of filters so I bought that as well. For the cost the pump is clearly cheap, but seems to be well made considering the limit budget for materials. The pump on the 12 foot pool will filter 500 gallons per hour so you should plan to leave it on for at least 3 hours on most days. Also bought Intex's foot bath to wash the feet before getting in the pool (shown in picture). That helps to keep the junk out.Final price including a few pool Toys was about $350, including the $79 for the pool. So expect to pay more than just the cost of the pool, but after searching all over for an above ground temporary pool (one with no frame and expensive pump/filter setups) I can't be happier so far with this one. Just the thing we needed to keep cool in the summer and provide some fun for the kids.Aug 2016 update:Everything is going great. At one point, I had a problem with Green Algae, but apparently so did the pools in Rio for the Olympics. I n my case the problem ended up being too much Stabilizer, which prevented the Chlorine from doing it's job. I ended up replacing my chemicals and tester strips. Make sure your test kit includes a test for Stabilizer. I purchased the AquaChek 551236 7-Way 100 Count Pool Water Test Strips and I'm very happy with those.

about 2 and 4 and they LOVE this pool
September 15, 2017
I have two boys, about 2 and 4 and they LOVE this pool. It's pretty big, so having an air pump really helps with inflating it. It's big enough for them to paddle around in, and even Mom and Dad can cool off in it too. The only drawback is that if you live anywhere with trees or bushes, it can get dirty fairly quickly. We had a fair amount of vegetation land in it. But, the boys didn't care, so we didn't have to clean it out too often (it takes a lot of water to fill). Very happy with it because it made my sons' summer that much more fun.
An absolutly excellent buy.
August 28, 2017
This was simply put, one of the best buys I have made recently. We inflated it (you will want a pump), put water to about the halfway mark and could not get our child out of it. I can not quantify hours of enjoyment to price, but in two or three sessions with the pool it more than paid for itself. On the plus side, it is easy to clean, the bottom drain works but will close itself, and it doesn't take long with a cheap electric pump to fill. Not really any downsides. I should also mention, it is kind of big.
Perfect, simple summer fun!!
April 28, 2017
Great for two to four adults. Just enough to keep you cool while you BBQ and have some drinks. Set up took 10 minutes, from box to fully ready. A lot of fun for a low price.
Great for babies!

Love this pool-- bought it as a playard for our little one. Would definitely recommend it!
Kids Love It
July 28, 2016
this is a great pool.. I watch my grand kids three days a week so I wanted one that was easy to take down for the mowers... I am not sure why some people said it does not have a drain plug because mine does and it drains easily and quickly... in reading the reviews they suggested using a bed sheet to cover it with.. that was a complete disaster.. with three of us it kept popping off and I am sure my neighbors got quite a laugh out of it...I finally just gave up.. it actually doesn't take that long to fill and is no different than filling a garden tub so water could be changed with each use. Of course I have a well and don't pay for water so that would make a difference...I use a heavy duty tarp under it so nothing will puncture it. Is great for the kids to cool off on a hot day...intex has a quick fill air pump that inflates it quickly... (5-minutes)...
Great pool! Also - some set-up suggestions to get the most out of it.
August 18, 2015
I thought I would post both a review and my suggestions for solutions to the issues with the cover and pool clarity.Firstly, the pool: check the dimensions when buying as it is quite big - perfect for my three young children to jump around in and it would easily fit 4 adults as a lounge pool. It fills to about 1ft depth, but you can put a lot less in for small children. The sides are quite strong when inflated, so it does not need water volume to remain in shape. You must ensure it's level and not near any 'head cracking' dangers as the floor of the pool is slippery even when the water is clean.Secondly, the set-up: I did not fancy having to empty this frequently as it takes a lot of water (max capacity is around 200 gallons). I therefore made the following set-up: (1) exercise mats to go underneath the pool. I bought two packs of 6 x 24" square 'jigsaw' exercise mats and they create a perfectly-sized base for the pool. This will protect your kids and the pool from any hard or rough surface under the pool. (2) footbath to keep the gunk out. I bought an 'inflatabuffet', which does the job nicely. (3) cover - tricky! The reviews of the covers are very mixed and they're very expensive. I bought an 8ft by 10ft piece of garden mosquito netting and 1/8 inch 25ft shockcord. The pool has a ridge halfway up, which means the shockcord will stay snug to the pool, then you simply lay over the mosquito net and tuck it in for a perfect seal all round. This keeps the bugs and leaves out, but lets the rain in - so no sagging in poor weather. I would not recommend this if you have dogs as the neeting is not strong, however, it's cheap and easy and works to keep the pool clear overnight. (4) water quality. I use a small amount of household bleach and bought the Aquacheck test strips. The manufacturer website will give you bleach dosage and the test strips will ensure your pool is OK for your kids at each use. This set up cost just over $100 in total. My kids are delighted!

Loved and hated it

The set up was pretty easy but you still have to level out your yard and put pack sand down for this to really work and for a temporary pool it was a little ridiculous. Next year we are just going too buy a real pool
Great pool for 9 & 13 yr olds to splash around in.
August 6, 2017
I got this pool for my 9 and 13 year old. Ever year we have something that they can splash around in when we couldn't get to the pool. Since they are older I came across the 12 foot pool. I am a do-it-yourself kind of person....so who needs instructions (though I did use it to put together the filter). Here is what I learned. If you want an maintenance-free pool that will not cost you anything but the pool....this is not for you. First you have to find the right spot. Since there are no level spots in our yard we put it on our back patio. Only to find out that when we filled the pool that the patio is not level but it works anyway.Since it is on concrete you HAVE to put something under it such as a tarp or foam pads to prevent small holes in the bottom of the pool. Once you have this set up inflate the top ring. Start to fill with water (it will take hours). As you are doing this attach the filter. Yes, it comes with extra parts.Once the pool is filled you will think “wow! This is great!” and the kids will hop in once it is warm enough. Your excitement will be short lived. Literally one day, you will look out and your “perfect” pool is suddenly “perfectly” green. So off you go to get chlorine for your amazing new pool. Since this pool is small you pick up the small chlorine dispenser for $6 and a container of 1” chlorine tabs for $18. (This will take you through the season just so you know). Little do you know that 1” chlorine tabs can be hard to find.......Home you go with your “solution” in hand. It doesn't work. Off you go to buy $15 test strips to figure out what is wrong. Turns out because you used well water you need to increase the PH. Without the proper PH your chlorine tabs are just eroding away and doing absolutely nothing to help with your green slop. So off you go to the $#@%&# store to pick up PH Up. Follow the instructions and now wait. It works!Next is the filter. Yup. It is there for a reason. I turn it on and it begins to filter all the algae that is floating around. Please keep in mind the pool is only 5 days old at this point. Suddenly you realize that you have to go back to the $#@%&# store to pick up another filter because the one you have is green. Feeling a bit strapped for cash you only pick up one. It isn't until you get home to find out that you actually have to replace the filter every 2 weeks. When you return to the store you realize that all the filters have been sold and that you look high and low around all the other stores and they don't have your size either.....grrrrr. It is not a powerful filter & leaks which is why I gave this a 4 star rating..Once the filter does it's magic you realize that there is a bunch of junk at the bottom of the pool. Back to the $#@%&# store you go. This time to pick up a “spa” vacuum. You read the instructions and don't believe it will actually work. Stick a hose in one end and a mesh bag on the other and it will vacuum everything up. Since vacuuming is not a favorite activity you also pick up a pool cover. So another $30 and you come home with your next solution. It works like a charm. Once it is all clear you put the cover on. Please note that the cover was the best investment!!!!Now summer is under way. The kids use the pool daily. Suddenly the ring deflates. I would love to blame the kids for it but that is not the issue. Turns out that our cat has decided that this 12 foot pool is his personal water dish. Walking on the ring is quite a talent and he needs his claws out to keep his balance so he does not fall in. He also enjoys using it as a spring board and makes a game of bouncing off of it. Because our patio is not 100% level one side is a bit lower than the rest. Once the ring deflated enough that side of the pool collapsed causing a tsunami of water rushing down the back yard muddying our small pond and drowning all small rodents who had any holes in the yard. I spent days trying to find the hole. I searched for “easy” ways to find a hole and none of them actually worked. What I finally did was I inflated the ring and put my ear to it and walked around the ring listening for a slight whistle. This worked. I used a permanent marker and circled the hole (so in the future if my patch comes off I can find it again). Out to the $#@%&# store again. I find self-stick patches (yes these work and are less annoying than dealing with patches and glue!). Once applied we are back in business. Until it happens again. Since listening the first time worked I went around and found the hole within 2 minutes...dried it and patched it.Please note that the cover not only keeps leaves and debris out it also keeps animals from drowning in your pool. Turns out that our cat issue is a normal issue for folks with cats or with neighbor cats.Overall, once we got through our learning process we love this pool! The sides and bottom are sturdy for my girls. You can go to the pool store for advice but they do not carry any parts for this pool. I can't blame the product for the holes in the ring since it clearly is not a product issue but an animal one. Easy to set up (once you have the spot). Filter is so-so. I will probably upgrade that for next year. It is deep enough for my girls to use inflatable floats to float around on. We got this early in the season so we got it for a discount! Fast shipping. All of the issues with this pool has been user caused not product caused. Highly recommend this pool!
Nice pool to cool off in!
July 27, 2017
This is a nice pool and very large however I think I was expecting it to be a little deeper. It clearly says it's 30 inches but I thought that might be deeper than it was. If I sit flat on my bottom the water only comes up to about shirt pocket high. It's enough to float in and cool off. Also mine came with a very small pinpoint hole in it but I used some Flex Seal tape to cover it and have not had any problems since.
Great pool for the value.
July 14, 2017
This pool is an exceptional value for the money. I've had it for about 6 weeks now, and it's sturdy and has held up to some very hot weather and some very hard rains. The filter it comes with isn't very good, but works fine as long as you run it enough, and do your part to clean and care for your pool. Maintaining a pool this size requires some every day maintenance, chemicals, and cleaning, but it's worth it to have an affordable oasis in your back yard. The setup was pretty easy, though challenging for just one person. I'm a tall strong lady and managed by myself, but it would have gone quicker and easier with an extra set of hands.I'm confident that with the level of care I've been giving this pool, I'll get at least another season of enjoyment out of it.
Great if your willing to put in the effort
July 8, 2016
This is my 4th purchase of this pool in the last 6 years. My first time through Amazon (usually through Academy). It is holding up well and I have 11 grand kids that give it a run for it's money all summer long. There are pros and cons on different pieces of this pool. The pool (body) itself is sturdy, easy to set up and the inflatable ring works to keep the pool balanced. It must be level to start with. I put a load of sand under mine and then spray weed killer on the sand and a foot around the circumference the day before I set up the pool (nut grass can grow up through the liner.) You must clean under the inflatable rim on a weekly basis, however, to keep algae and debris from gathering under it. Just hand the kids a regular kitchen sponge and have them go around and scrub under the rim a couple of times a week. Prevention is way easier than trying to get rid of yucky stuff later. You MUST learn how to take care of the water if you want anypool to stay swimable and quite honestly the pumps that come with this one are not so good, especially if you live somewhere hot like I do (Texas.) In my opinion and experience, the pump that comes with this pool does not turn the water over enough even if you run it longer than the suggested run time. I upgraded my pump to a Hayward AG pump 3 years ago and mine stays crystal clear. A good test kit can be your savior and test (available here on Amazon about $17) the water at least every two days. Do not let the pool stores talk you into tons of chemicals either. Get the conditioner on the opening up and then just make sure the chlorine and PH stay in a good level. A good help place is[...] These guys are very helpful and their advice is free.I own a catfish pool vacuum and it is great for getting junk that settles on the bottom. The pool does not come with a vacuum, skimmer or net. You will need these things if you want the pool to stay clean and last the entire, or more than one season. The ladders get a little weakened as well if you have heavier people in your family and if your grand kids don't mind and jump off of it constantly. All in all this pool is worth the money and is good quality. It is worth the $ to me. Don't think, however that you are just going to set it up and be done with it. It does require work and daily diligence to keep it sparkling. PS Intex's customer service SUCKS!

good value
August 29, 2017
Good size for my kids (age 7, 5 and 4) though we are not a tall family. They couldn't all play at once in it but the water got deep enough that they had fun. I bought it with the air pump to fill it fast and it worked well. I also bought a tarp to put under to keep from sticks poking it and it did not get broken this whole summer. My dogs even jumped on the edges with their paws and no punctures. It's a good value for the cost (about $25 I think).
Great inflated, just as great deflated!
August 29, 2017
Great pool for the money. So many reviews already talking about how great this thing is inflated, so I'm just going state how wonderful this pool is deflated! Our first kiddie pool was one of those preformed plastic pools, that was the worst. Our second was a rigid sided pool with a soft bottom. That pool was better, but didn't fold up very small and the hard plastic eventually cracked. This pool deflates and stores away in about 3"x16"x16". Highly recommend!

August 9, 2017
This pool is nice for the kids to play in on those hot days but it takes forever to blow up. I highly recommend doing it in the early morning (before the sun is out and you're ready to use it). It's a decent size so I'm not surprised it took so long, it just made it stressful when my son was chopping at the bit to get in and I was still blowing it up. I probably should have planned better. Overall, the pool is great though.
Good pool for the money
October 7, 2016
It is pretty deep about 2 feet and the inside dimensions are 6' x 3'. You will need a motorized air pump with a large head on it. The opening is 2" in diameter.
Durable pool that can last multiple summers
October 5, 2016
My three year old and six month old had the best time in this pool. It was large enough for them to move around but still small enough to keep them at arms reach. It's durable and made to last. For the price I purchased this a a throw away pool but was pleasantly surprised by the quality. I could see this lasting for at least two summers if it were cared for correctly. Over all it was worth every penny.
Use Hairdryer to Easily Inflate
May 26, 2016
This is a great pool for the price and it easily accommodates a couple of adults or numerous young children. I've read so many reviews talking about the need for an air compressor but one brilliant person suggested a hairdryer with a cool setting. This worked like a charm and the pool was inflated in less than two minutes.

Pinhole leaking water when setup
July 7, 2017
Arrived quickly. Box was slightly worn and torn. Two persons needed to set up. It's important to have a flat level surface. We placed the tarp on grass and will see if the grass grows through the bottom. I am glad I read all the write ups about this pool so I could be on the look out for leaks. When we started filling with water 3/4 of the way filled we noticed a pinhole opening. We quickly patched. The patch on the outside of the pool didn't work so we patched the inside & that didn't work. So far we have repatched the outside area three times. Haven't set up the ladder yet but will use the recommendation to set a wash bucket to clean feet prior to climbing up the steps. We watched utube videos of this pool prior to setup. Later in the season when it's been up and used we will add to this review.
Not as deep as they advertise
July 2, 2017
Bought the 12x30 pool for my girls. The pool is easy to setup, but buyers should be aware that the 30 in pool only has a water depth of 24in according to the seller(mine is only 21in deep).
Don't expect help from Intex.
June 27, 2017
There was no ladder and on all booklets and package says don't call retailer call us. Well that is a joke first off the girl that answered the phone barely spoke English after being put on hold forever they said they would never send out without ladder and Amazon must have taken it out cuz it was heavy. Thank God for Amazon they were helpful and courteous and gave me a gift card for a ladder. Unfortunately the ladder I ordered was also messed up but thats another story/bad review. The pool it's self I'd have to give a 5 star and the filter is okay but seems a little weak. Setting up was easy enough just pay close attention leveling it. We came in a quarter inch of level, yah. The kids enjoyed it yesterday cuz we could lift them in and out. The whole ladder thing is just turning into a pain and weather will be hot tomorrow so I'm putting more money out to buy one today and waiting to see if I get my money back on the other one.

Not so easy
August 30, 2016
Great material for a pool, nice concept. But this is so heavy that setting up was not easy. Three of us could not get the wrinkles out of the bottom because we didn't have enough strength to pull on the sides enough to straighten everything out correctly. The wrinkles are only a bit of a bother, the pump works, we use it because the weather has been so HOT.
Was good but dont know what caused the air ring to deflate
July 6, 2016
Only giving 3 stars because I am not sure if there is a leak in the air tube or stupid stray cats popped it. Could never find a hole. Can't return because we set it up, drained it to clean it then set it back up today and I just walked outside and the ring was deflated and the water was draining out. My kids are going to be so sad tomorrow because I am forced to throw it away and I'm out $90 now.

Leaks are unavoidable.
July 29, 2017
It's a decent pool, of a good size, but it, of course, came with a nice slow leak that has it collapsing on itself within a few hours of inflation. That seems to be an unavoidably common problem and if it weren't impossible to repack a pool after inflation, I might have tried my luck on another one. At least my toddler enjoys sitting in it.
You get what you pay for. I bought this ...
June 28, 2017
You get what you pay for. I bought this to float in during my third trimester in the Virginia heat. No kids even rough-housed in it, no dogs were in it...my point is, my using this pool was as gentle as it gets. I used this one time and upon inflating the second time, it had holes and wouldn't hold air. We tossed it out and headed to Walmart and got a comparable/bigger pool for the same price.
Needs a pump.
June 24, 2017
Not a bad price. But this thing keeps deflating causing me to have to buy the fourteen dollar pump that wasn't included. Seems part of the game plan to have you buy a pool at a good price. Then when Dad realizes what a pain in the butt it is to blow it up, he's back online looking to buy the pump they make.
It works for the price
August 18, 2016
Easy and quick to inflate with a mattress pump or a hair dryer (on low cold! ) as suggested by another reviewer. Unfortunately, the bottom ring has a slow leak SOMEWHERE. We set it up in the afternoon, by the next morning it's half flat and we have to refill it. I mention this only because it seems to be a common complaint. The drain plug likes to suction closed when draining, so put something in the hole to prop it open. I stick a pencil in the ground,in the hole. It does the job for our week end uses but I won't be buying another one when it's time to replace it.
It survives for 3 months but better than "Intex Swim Center Ocean Reef Inflatable Pool"
September 10, 2015
I just made a review on my second pool "Intex Swim Center Ocean Reef Inflatable Pool". Because of the bad experience on my second pool, it motivates me to write a review on this pool which is my first pool and it survives for 3 months. When I inflated the first pool, it could stay inflated at least for 1 week. I used "Intex Quick-Fill AC Electric Air Pump" to inflate it and it only took less than 1 minute to complete. After 2 months, it started leaking air. We found the hole and used the patch came with the pool when the hole was still small. We had fun for another 2 weeks and only inflated it once a week. After that, the hole became bigger and bigger. We tried to use tape to seal the hole but we inflated it once a day and each time took about 2 minutes.Compared with my second pool which I gave it 1 star, I think this pool (my first pool) is okay and give it 3 starts.
A hole in the pool and our wholly mediocre experience
July 13, 2015
So the pool is absolutely humongous and it took a solid 2 hours with an air compressor to inflate it. We were super excited once the pool was inflated. As we began adding water, I noticed a leak. There was a one inch hole on the seam between the bottom of the pool and the side wall. This caused a fairly minor water leak. We drained and dried the pool to affix the patch. We followed the instructions to patch the pool. We crossed our fingers and began adding water again. Alas, the patch didn't work. We decided to exchange the pool for another one. I desperately tried to get the pool back into the box, to no avail. Amazon sent us a new pool. We haven't had time to inflate the new one, but we've crossed all of our fingers and toes that there isn't a leak.

Keep an Eye on the Price
August 6, 2017
First, purchasing this thing was a nightmare, but that was the fault of Amazon. Keep an eye on the price if you're going to buy this pool. It fluctuates wildly. When I ordered it, the price was 264. Two days later is was 169 and said it was marked down from 201, so it had changed every day. As of wring this, it's 279.Okay, on to the pool. I live alone and had to set it up by myself. I also had to do it in the dark because I have a giant tortoise who likes to 'help' me with anything that I do in the yard. The hardest part was filling the top ring. Not one pump in the house had the correct size nozzle. I played around with it for about 30 minutes before I decided to run over to the store for a new pump. Luckily, I spotted my shop-vac and realized I could reverse the hose and put it on the blower (Later saw this is not recommended) but was very careful to not over-inflate.It was also difficult getting the wrinkles out of the bottom so I could add water. It would have been MUCH easier if the bottom was a different color than the sides. As far as filling it, I had the hose running for 3 hours before I went to bed and it was a little less than half full. I had to run another 4 hours the next morning to get it completely filled, but it was perfectly level and balanced when I was done. The ladder is horrible. It is way too narrow and impossible to turn around on unless you're a small child. I fell the first time I used it. Luckily it was IN to the pool and not out. I'll just use a step stool from now on.The directions leave a lot to be desired. I was excited to see that there was a DVD, until I realized it was made by a sadist. The directions to put up the pool focus on the ring and getting it level, then it shows the thing filling. BUT, when you watch the directions for the pump, you see that you need to have THAT hooked up before adding water. The pump is MIA in the directions about filling the pool. Also, in the video about the pump, even though I selected the one for my pool, it didn't show the directions for MY pump. I didn't realize until I was done and looked at the paper directions that mine was set up incorrectly. It was perfect according to the DVD, and missing 3 parts according to the paper. Now I know why there were spare parts. All in all, the pool is large and I could see where kids would have a blast in it. I got mine to do some exercising without strain on my back and it looks like it will be great for that.Update - 9-24-17I got to use the pool about 5 times. Turns out that my intense motion sickness on rides extends to water. Every time I got in, or even near, the sloshing of the pool, I got sick. So, after letting it stay up for a month, I decided to take it down. This is where it goes from 3 stars to 2 stars.Trying to drain this thing is a nightmare. The drain hole is too high, so when the water level drops, there is still about 5 inches of water along the entire floor of the pool. That's a lot. I tried taking one end and pulling it toward the opposite side to make it drain, but it won't do it because of the shape of the pool. As the pool collapses, the top ring goes toward the center, so any water is now completely trapped. There is no 'side' to use as a drain. So. I now have it down to about 3 inches and it's dark and as soon as the sun comes up, my 175 pound tortoise will see the water and climb in. That will be the end of this pool.

Set was simple. Filled with water no problem. Used it the next day. Went to use it the next day and half the water had leaked out because the rim had sprung a leak. Very hard to find the leak without loosing more water which I have to pay for. Managed to find one leak and repaired it but there is still another leak as it will not hold the air. I am the only one using it so I have no idea why it leaks air.
My original pool to be delivered was "LOST" by UPS ...
July 21, 2017
My original pool to be delivered was "LOST" by UPS and so my pool was not delivered for more than 3 weeks when FedEx delivered. The pool had manufactured defects as the top air ring was not adhered to the pool in approx a 2 foot area and the water would leak out. I bought the tape advertised on TV to repair the pool because returning this 150 lb pool was not a realistic option. We continue to use the pool with minor leaks since my repair. You decide for yourself if it is worth the hassle and the money

The pool itself is just fine. Sets up easy with one person. No problems with fittings or folds. However! The filter pump included with this unit gave both my wife and I a bit of a shock upon entering the pool. The unit was plugged in, but the "Test" button on the GFCI was pressed. The pump was not running. Yet both of us got it. I unplugged the unit and the problem was solved.I have not contacted Intex for a replacement, and do not intend to. They have lost my trust with this inferior equipment. I will protect myself from it, and them.
Unhappy with this purchase
June 26, 2017
This pool seemed like a fantastic buy however, I set it up in my flat back yard and as the pool started to fill up, the water would tilt to one side and one side only. Even though the rim was pretty well inflated, the walls of the pool would not gradually rise as I believed they would. It was difficult for myself to try to set it up, the lining of the pool is very thick and I had no assistance other than myself to set it up. I am not sure if the pool was defected or what happened but I felt I had to return it because it did not turn out to be what I expected it to be, needless to say I was extremely disappointed. Perhaps if it came with side bars to hold it up it would've worked better.
I would not recommend this product to anyone that has kids
June 8, 2017
The pool holds water for a little while, but because of the design, the sides are flimsy and water escapes out whenever the kids go in it. I would not recommend this product to anyone that has kids. If you just want to float on a ring, its great.

got a leak the first time we used it. ( we were in it for less than 5 minutes when we noticed) We didn't over fill it with air. Patched it and its still deflating within 2 days

Really bummed out on this pool. It will not hold air! Since its past the return window, we now have this unusable non-recyclable "pool" Buyer beware.
Thought this would be a great way for the kids to keep cool this summer ...
September 4, 2017
Thought this would be a great way for the kids to keep cool this summer and not have to spend a fortune on a big pool. It was great for about 1/2 an hour after filling the pool. The pool began to loose air and collapse. The plugs would not stay fully closed. We ended up glueing one of the plugs shut to try to keep it from looking air. Unfortunately this pool just was way more of a hassle than fun for me.
Nice size, but leaks.
August 25, 2017
Well, it's a nice sized pool, just what I was looking for for my dog. Too bad it constantly leaks air from the bottom chamber. I may still get her a pool, but it will not be inflatable.
Two Stars

lasted a week with NO use and it developed a leak.
Started leaking air after first use!
July 9, 2014
This pool is a good size and looks great - unfortunately I only got 1.5 uses out of it before it was leaking air so badly I had to scrap it!I don't have kids, but bought this looking for a pool to primarily just kick back and relax in with a book. On first use, it inflated quickly (less than 5 minutes) with an electric compressor. A friend and her two daughters were over, and we were all able to fit comfortably. On that occasion we only used the pool for about an hour, and did not fully fill it with water- and everyone was gentle on the pool, there was no jumping or rough play that would have damaged it. After use, I emptied, deflated, and stored it.Over 4th of July weekend, I went to use it again, just for me. Again, it inflated easily, and this time I filled it all the way. I spent a few hours in and out of the pool on Saturday afternoon, and planned to use it again Sunday. But by Saturday evening, I noticed that it looked like the upper chamber had deflated quite a bit. By the time I woke up Sunday morning, the upper chamber was almost completely deflated and about 1/2 the water had spilled out. I reinflated, and inspected for holes/leaks, but couldn't find any. I did use the pool a bit on Sunday afternoon, but had to reinflate it by that point every 1/2 hour, and the lower chamber had also started leaking air too. Since I couldn't find any holes or anything to patch, I scrapped the pool at that point. I know it's cheap, but I expected to get more than just a couple of uses out of it!

Item Not Very Sturdy
September 2, 2017
We were very disappointed in this product. It had problems inflating at first, and then it only lasted about 2 months before it stopped inflating at all. We have it fully fenced in, so it was well protected. We assume it was probably already damaged when we got it and it just got worse over time. Our kids are so disappointed, since they loved the pool when it was working.
very dissatisfied with the quality because I had one before I know this should be better got a lemon pool hope the seams are sown ...
August 14, 2017
this was my second intex pool just alike this one didn't have the correct number of holes for the filtering system and then after it was filled up to the intake the hole is cut too big so it constantly leaks so next year I will have to modify but will have to put up with the constant leak because the cost of water to fill it up again would be more than the additions of water every other day or so. very dissatisfied with the quality because I had one before I know this should be better got a lemon pool hope the seams are sown better the the rest of the pool was measured and made. Will think twice about getting my third one from Intex
Expected it to last a couple of years but no..
August 13, 2017
Don't expect to get more than 1 season out of this pool.. Our first filter failed first time we put it up this year, thankfully it was under warranty and Intex replaced it. Then 2 of the hoses rotted and dumped 1/3 of the water out.. Hoses are very cheaply made. All season we have been having to blow the ring up every few days. Could not find any leaks other than the fill valve had a slow leak, no way to repair or patch that.. So after fighting the ring and finding the pool drained 6-8 inches every few days because the ring lost pressure we gave up and drained it..
Don't waste your money!!
August 3, 2017
Horrible horrible horrible! Can't believe I wasted money on this piece of crap. Had a leak right out of the box. Tried patching it and there was another one somewhere else. It said in the enclosed instructions there was a ground cover, nothing like that included. We had it set up for not even 10 days (while constantly trying to keep it filled) and after giving up and taking it down, the backyard smelled like something from the walking dead! Bought it for our kids to have something to cool off in but it was a janky piece of trash.
Very disappointed. Go with a metal supported pool.
July 19, 2017
My yard is very flat and it still wouldn't work. I don't see how people give this a good rating unless they live in a new community where the house was just built and the land hasn't settled yet. I didn't set it up right away because I was waiting for my grandchildren to come to town and now it's too late to return the pool. Very disappointed. Go with a metal supported pool.
leaking seams
June 20, 2016
I was very disappointed in this Intex product. We just put the pool up for the kids yesterday and all the seams started leaking. We are having trouble getting hold of someone at Intex to get us a replacement. I have had Intex pools before and never had problems but with this one it has been a headache.

Not at all durable - 2 different tears within a week. Waste of money
September 27, 2017
Thought I'd be in good hands with Intex because I've used their air mattresses, but sadly that same durability hasn't been carried over to their inflatable swim pools. Two 3-year-old had two tears in it within a week. Patched the first one which happened where the kids got in and out of the pool by climbing over the edge. The second tear happened in the bottom section below the water surface so it filled up the air section with water and the pool wasn't usable after that.
Great pool for a day
September 5, 2017
Great pool for a day. It's the second day that you'll see this pool sucks. Goes flat for no reason. I have ordered three of these pools hoping the other ones were defective. First one got a hole immediately, second one came with a large hole in it, and the third is sitting in my back yard slowly deflating for some strange reason....oh yeah, probably another hole
Defective
June 18, 2017
We have bought several of these over the years and they always last through the summer with moderate use by one child which is why I always order it. This one clearly had a hole. I inflated it and as I began to fill it I noticed the top champed was deflating. I tried to reinflate and make sure the stopper was fully in but it deflated in a matter of two hours. Going to try to figure out how to get it replaced.
Bummer for summer!
August 2, 2016
I have purchased Intex products for years. Perhaps they are using a new manufacturer. Could never get this one to hold air, wasted lots of water, never was able to use it and couldn't figure out how to return a wet, dirty, large piece of plastic. Bummer for summer!
Wish I Could Give NEGATIVE stars!!!!!!
June 1, 2016
I'm updating my review because after only three weeks of use the pool has deflated due to multiple holes in the seams of the bottom ring. The pool always had a slow leak and I would have to refill the air every few days, but this morning the entire bottom ring was flat.I've had so many issues with this pool I am entirely furious that I wasted my money on it!!! I could cry!IF YOU WILL NEED TO DRAIN THIS POOL REGULARLY.... DO NOT BUY!!!!!!! This pool is easy to set up. Easy to inflate and fairly sturdy once up and filled with water. However, it is a total pain in the butt to drain!!!!!!! The drain hole is in an odd place and the flap that closes the drain hole is at such an angle that as the water flows out, the flap shuts, thereby stopping the draining process. You also have to sort of lift the bottom of the pool up to get it to drain....once the pool has water in it, it is so heavy that even if the drain is open, it does not drain because it is pressed firmly against the ground. I had prop the bottom of the pool up and put a heavy bucket over the plug flap. All in all the draining process took over an hour. That would not have been a big deal if I could have opened the drain and walked away, but that is not the case here.
Not a good thing when your having a party for grandkids again
July 26, 2014
This is the second pool I have ordered. The first pool would not hold air at all. This pool held air and after two hours was deflating. Not a good thing when your having a party for grandkids again. This will be the second party held and for a second time I will have to tell kids the pool is flat!
