Five Star Reviews: | 61% Welcome home ~ Orange Peeler July 14, 2016 The price was unbelievably inexpensive. It arrived approximately one month after ordering. When it did arrive one peeler was broken. OMG! A little bubble wrap might have helped to keep them safe. I'm not a quitter though. Still embracing my positive persona. I washed the peeler and handled the peeler as if it were the jewel from the Titanic. I steadied myself with plump orange in hand, ready to peel the luscious fruit of my hard earned labor and what happened next...was just short of miraculous. As a single tear streamed down my cheek... I effortlessly peeled until the juices were welcomed with awe and satisfaction. Channeled my inner Rafiki, holding my wee Simba orange above my head as I chanted, hakuna matata & danced in the street. Yes, orange peeler you've found your home. These things worked great on peeling oranges December 10, 2015 These things worked great on peeling oranges. I was expecting much for the price, but they work as well as some higher priced peelers (Pampered Chef) I've used in the past. Perfect for the fingernail-less male September 13, 2014 For the picky male, who has no fingernails and prefers not to get his fingers sticky when pealing an orange, these peelers work! It will cut through the skin about the perfect depth every time. Going once around the orange allows you to simply peel back the skin (so it isn't 100% peeling free) and rip it off. For the purpose of peeling an orange before making a smoothie with it, you will not be disappointed. So far I am still on my first one and have been able to use it at least 20 times (no signs of wear yet). Make sure that you rinse it briefly after usage so that it doesn't start having a sticky layer like mine did, which took a couple minutes to scrape off. Easy as Peeling Bananas! June 7, 2014 I love it! I wish I had known about these sooner! This peeler makes peeling an orange as easy as peeling a banana! No more orange peel under my fingernails or breaking my nails with this new peeler! I'm eating oranges much more often now because it's so quick and clean to peel with these! It works great for peeling grapefruit too! The only time I have any problem with it is if I have an orange with a very thick peel. There's lots of different ways to peel with it. You can experiment with different ways. The easiest for me is to run the peeler from top to bottom down four sides of the orange, then pull down the peel in quarters. Crazy that this thing works! February 26, 2013 Who would have thought a little plastic thing the size of a ring could peel and orange so quickly? I love this thing! So simple yet so effective June 17, 2012 These work really great, are small and store easily, and wash really easily. I have always hated peeling oranges and would usually not eat them. With these I can peel large and small oranges without a lot of fuss. | 77% Citur peeler May 24, 2017 What a clever design for peeling citrus fruit. Works as well as you could imagine. Clean and easy way to peel an orange where have these been all my life??? July 1, 2016 Works incredibly well on lemons and other citrus. If you take a nice sharp knife and slice the top and bottom off of the fruit without getting into the juicy parts then use this tool it pulls the peel off in two sections leaving the white stuff where a tremendous amount of nutrient's are, and are typically lost during peeling. This tool makes eating oranges clean and easy compared to the dripping mess they can be without it. Terrific little compact peeler March 21, 2016 These make peeling oranges as easy as opening an envelope. We first got one of these from a citrus farm long ago and lost it - they're like a pencil and easily misplaced. I enjoy oranges much more using one of these to peel them. No more zest under your finger nails from peeling, this slices and separates the peel easily. You can have perfect unbroken orange wedges in no time. Terrific little peeler. The best citrus peeler ever February 10, 2016 The best little tool for peeling those thin skinned oranges that defy all other efforts short of a big knife. This is much safer, even school aged children could use it because it is not sharp and is entirely made of plastic. It is patterned after the famous Tupperware Citrus Peeler (discontinued?) that had been around forever. These make great gifts! When friends or family see you using one, they immediately ask, "Where did you get that? I like it!". This is when you reach in the drawer and hand them their very own to take home. I ordered six of them, and I am already down to four. Very useful gadget! January 28, 2016 I had originally purchased one of these from an at home vendor and it was lost or thrown away. I was excited to find them here in multiples. This tool makes peeling any type of citrus a breeze. It is easy to use and keeps me from getting peel and rind under my fingernails. I was so happy to find a few on here since I couldn't ... September 18, 2015 I've been meaning to buy one of these since my roommates went missing 2 years ago! I was so happy to find a few on here since I couldn't find it in stores! My roommate was so happy to get it from me as a gift and I was so happy to have one for myself as well! Great buy works perfectly. Just be careful the points can cut skin. |
Four Star Reviews: | 15% Cutting blade too short April 21, 2017 Cutting blade is not long enough to cut completely through thick skinned oranges/grapefruit. You just need to figure out the best way for you to hold it February 24, 2017 They do what they are supposed to do. A little awkward the first time. You just need to figure out the best way for you to hold it. You can hold it a couple ways. Very portable to take along or send in a lunch so you can peel a fresh orange or grapefruit. Works well October 5, 2016 works as described..keeps that darn peel off hands and out of my nails. very inexpensive. very small though so easy to lose. I think they thought of that cause they send two in a package We love it! May 11, 2016 We eat alot of oranges and citrus. This is a safe alternative for kids. We love it! | 12% Still good - not as strong as they used to be June 9, 2015 Not quite as sturdy as I'd remembered when from 30 years ago, but still a great way for a 5-year-old to peel her own oranges. This peeler is much like the old Tupperware orange peeler June 3, 2015 This peeler is much like the old Tupperware orange peeler. It has 2 ends. One end splits the peel, the other end separates the peel from the inner fruit. Having used this one and the Tupperware, this one does a better job of separating the peal from the fruit. But the Tupperware peeler does a better job of splitting the skin. Makes eating citrus so much easier. March 4, 2015 This peeler makes eating citrus so much easier. Cutting through the peel and pulling it off is a cinch. I only wish the curved end were a little sharper. The serrated side isn't long enough and it should be serrated on both sides. I like using it to section grapefruit as well as getting under an orange peel to easily cut it away from the orange. Rather than drinking a lot of juice and getting too many carbs, I'm now eating more citrus and loving it. pamperd chef use to carry thease I started out with ... January 8, 2015 pamperd chef use to carry thease I started out with 6 of thease and through the years I lost most of them by throwing them out so I looked and looked and on the internet and now I got them |
Three Star Reviews: | 10% Not as pictured February 12, 2017 Advertised as set of 2. Expected 2 to be same. 1 was as pictured, other was not a complete ring for finger but rather about 1/3 ring on each side with open center - very awkward & unable to use. Initially, I thought 1 was broken until better inspection. Took nearly 6 weeks to arrive from China. small but works December 30, 2016 I don't know who's finger is supposed to fit in that circle, but mine isn't even close! That being said, hold it differently and it works very well. They work, Quite a bit smaller than I thought ... February 24, 2016 They work, Quite a bit smaller than I thought they would be. Also VERY cheaply made, You can probably find them at the flea market or dollar store for way, way less money. Meh July 27, 2015 thought it would be a lot better than it was. Used it a few times and then it got tossed into the junk drawer never to be seen again lol. | 4% Good but not better than others December 26, 2015 This works well, but it's not the messiah of all orange peelers. IMO, the pick does not work as well as the flat pick on another peeler I own that came in purple. Three Stars April 23, 2015 Doesn't work as well as the Tupperware peeler. The scoring end works well, but the othe end...not so much. |
Two Star Reviews: | 6% Blade is short and barely cuts through more than a ... June 10, 2017 Blade is short and barely cuts through more than a mandarine orange. Got them for the child in hope it would assist him with making his own snacks, but it barely slices the skin on anything larger than a 2in or so orange. Two Stars April 11, 2017 Very thin and not a really good quality. Very slow delivery because it shipped from an Asian country. okay not great January 9, 2016 cuts the peel okay but the plastic is not tough enough to raise the peel after it is scored. | 4% Cheap, but not as good as the original July 5, 2015 these are not the original pampered chef ones. They don't even say tupperware. I have the pampered chef one and that one cuts the peel better than these. However, these are good enough and way better than using just your fingers. I keep one at home and another at work. |
One Star Reviews: | 8% Good idea. Problem - simply does not work May 3, 2017 Good idea. Problem - simply does not work. I'm glad I didn't pay too much.It scores the peel ,but does not go deep enough to actually peel it, caca. The only reason I am giving this one star is ... March 13, 2017 The only reason I am giving this one star is because it looks much bigger in the picture and were smaller than expected. Bath and Beyond's brand was much stronger and worked like a charm February 13, 2017 Very flimsy. Bed, Bath and Beyond's brand was much stronger and worked like a charm. | 3% Doesn't work March 16, 2016 These peelers do not work. It kept slipping off of the orange/tangelo. I stopped using them right away as it was so annoying. I then ordered Pampered Chef. Not worth the price - any price! July 26, 2015 Bad, bad, bad. Need I say more? A minus 1 star for me. Difficult, messy, and plain does not work. |
