Digital Photo Frame
August 26, 2017
The digital photo frame worked right away without any "set-up", just plug in a USB thumb drive with .jpg images. Some of the images have been edited and therefore display sideways or scrunched, but there are 3 settings for images, so I may be able to overcome the present display without having to re-edit the photos. The On/Off switch works slowly (probably a inexpensive (slow) processor. Overall, it's exactly what I was expecting and this one is a fairly low price!
i like this!
June 21, 2017
I just gave this as a gift to a coworker. I was looking for something inexpensive and simple so she could see her photos while working. At under $40, this fit the bill. It is certainly not as fancy as more expensive frames but it does what it should. It's extremely simple to use. My only complaint is that the resolution is not the best but if you are not looking at it up close (which typically you wouldn't with this type of frame), the photos look great! My coworker loves it and has been bragging about what a great gift it was all day.
Price is great for, resolution is good.

First one I ordered was defective. Prompt replacement by seller and very happy with the quality and price.
i am delighted! not an expert on picture quality
May 31, 2016
i am delighted! not an expert on picture quality, but they look great to me! maybe it is the bigger screen size, but my pics have really come alive! also it does a great job of automatically resizing to fit the screen. several of my pics wouldn't display properly on my old quantaray and they do fine on this one. some of the info here says 4GB, some says 2GB - it is 4GB. the stand gives me no problems. i am no techie and i thought it was easy to set up. the warranty is 1 year. and best of all - if you have a question you can call aluratek and quickly talk to a REAL PERSON who is courteous and helpful. YAY!!
Other reviews are out of date
February 4, 2014
Many of the other reviews are out of date. There is no time feature, internal storage, or auto-on/off. It also now automatically plays media when inserted. Not much to say about the randomization feature, it seems to play the pictures in the same order in which they are on the memory card.the 800x600 resolution is good for people who are going to add pictures from a point and shoot camera, since that is their typical resolution. Other "widescreen" frames aren't the right aspect ration - you're basically paying for extra screen. The pictures look just fine on this. For the price, it's not an HDTV, it just shows pictures. How discerning can you be? Not sure why someone listed as a con that they needed a writer for their SD card. Of course you need a writer. I use a thumb drive; yes it sticks out. There is only about an inch from the USB interface to the edge of the frame, so you can live with that, or use a low profile drive, like the Cruzer they sell on Amazon.it's really a basic unit. There is a screen, a stand adapter, and an ac power source. There are two menus, one for photos (sizing, stretch, etc), and one for basic settings (brightness, contrast, etc). Is it a top of the line model? obviously not. does it get 5 stars for having the features it does at this price? yes it does.
Awesome Digital Picture Frame
December 29, 2011
We use this particular digital picture frame for a counter-top video display in all of our participating retailers. We've created a 2 minute company video that we load onto a 2GB SD card. Then all we have to do is purchase this frame, insert the SD Card and voila! a super cool video display that gets lots of attention. We've tried several other brands and sizes but this one has been the best size and has stood the test of time. The stand is sturdy, the product is reliable, the video resolution is wonderful, the retailer can choose to have the audio playing or not and the SD card can start easily without a lot of menu surfing.I highly recommend this product.

Nice Frame! Great Quality Item. Great Price.
April 15, 2016
It's bigger than I thought it would be. It's really a nice frame to showcase any kind of pictures anywhere in your home or office. It works really well. It does everything the Internet said it would do. Even though it is plastic it is built with a very thick shiny plastic that is not noticeable until you pick it up. Still at that it is a well made frame at a reasonable amount of money. I was shocked to see how well this little baby worked. If your looking to buy this I hope I have helped you in helping you make up your mind. I have nothing bad to say about it at all.
Works and Looks Great (maaaaybe a little more work for any videos)
February 8, 2016
Works great. No problems loading the pictures. The pictures come out quite crisp and clear. The videos do have to be of a certain format (see other reviews for that info). But I didn't have any problem with that. I used a free video format converter on my Windows machine (it's called "Freemake Video Converter").A $150 unit would probably look better but the pictures and videos are just fine for me and the person I bought this for, (and I would think most people).
I have bought 2 and
June 1, 2014
I have 2 Aluratek ADMPF108F 8 inch HI Res Digital Photo Frame with 12 MB Built in. I gave them as gifts. I bought a USB drive to add the the total pictures you can put on it. The first one was for a trip to the Bahama's as a thank you gift and put all our pictures on it. What a treat to go over the my son and daughter in law's house and see the reminders of a wonderful trip. The second one was for my mom for Mothers day. Again I bought a USB drive gave it to my sister in law, my daughter, my son, and my self and loaded it with all our families pictures. Now she has an "almost living" reminder her family that loves her. I will be buying 2 more in the near future. I did my research and found for the money this one is the best value for all that it offers.
Awesome product for the price
January 2, 2013
I purchased this along with the 7-inch one for gifts, both are fast, as soon as you plug in the SD card images start showing up. It has some advantages over the 7-inch one: resolution is bigger so images look better, it comes with a remote control which might be cool in some occasions but haven't used it yet, it can play background music, and it has the built-in memory so you can move your pictures to the internal memory and use your SD for something else (like take more pictures). I think this product is totally worth the price and I will recommend this one over the 7-inch version.
Great product for the price
November 11, 2012
This has to be the best deal I have received in a while. Great color on the very bright display and it comes with a remote. I wanted this to put some pictures on and some graphics to use as a changing sign on my front counter of my business. I read some mixed reviews on this product but I haven't had but one complaint and that was the instructions were a little vague. When connecting to the computer for the first time you need to change the USB mode in the menu or your computer will not recognize the internal usb memory. After I figured that out it was great. Pictures sized to be 800x600 fit perfect. Although, if the picture isn't the right size it will resize them for the best display possible. I think I may order some more for the house too. I love this product and would recommend to a friend.
Mother Really Loves her New Digital Picture Frame!
January 29, 2011
I got this as a birthday gift for my Mom. She absolutely loves having the frame in her study. I put just about every picture I had ever taken on the SD memory card (not included) and she has not seen the same picture twice. The resolution of this digital photo frame is very good. That was why I bought this one over other ones. Some were bigger for the same money, but the resolution was lower. With these frames, you should buy higher resolution over bigger screen. No one wants to look at a 12" screen using 320x240 resolution or whatever. The picture looks awful on the lower resolution screens. If you get this frame, I can tell you that you will not be disappointed in the image quality. Fit and finish was good as well. It feels like a quality item, not just cheap plastic.

Tiny USB device that barely extends past your USB port.
September 30, 2017
Bought this to put into the USB port in my car so I could play MP3 music through the radio. Previously I had a larger, longer, USB stick. However I was afraid of knocking it since it stuck out so far. I also didn't want people looking in and seeing this blue USB stick that they may want to steal. I replaced it with this tiny little guy. No more worries about knocking it out, it barely sticks out farther than the USB port. It's also black and blends in very well so anyone looking in can't see it.
Almost invisible Storage!
June 10, 2017
Perfect for my Nintendo Wii U. My first Cruzer is full, and I liked it so much I bought a second one. Of course it was only to find out that we can only use one USB device with a WIIU system. I was sad.......At least I had a second Wii U and I just put the second one into that console that was just about ready to need more storage. So nothing lost. What I like is how small these things are, lots of storage and you can't even see that these are on my wii U console. They are almost Invisible and hold lots of data. Also, if I decide to get rid of my Wii U I can reformat and use this on any other device. I feel it is worth the money and less hastle than an external hard drive that is recommended for the Wii U!
Best USB flash drive I've tried!
October 24, 2016
Tiny but powerful with great features such as password protection and easy file backup function. It comes with standard encryption but other features such as military encryption, automated backup, and Cloud/other device synchronization are available through a reasonably priced upgrade. For everyday use though, really an upgrade isn't needed. All files are password protected anyway. Great for sensitive data and also pictures, resumes, correspondence, etc. Can also be used to move files from the main device to create more memory space. It measures well under an inch across and can be easily stored and carried anywhere. 16GB. Lots of space! It's especially good for smaller devices such as tablets but it worked great on a full size laptop too. SanDisk Cruzer Fit CZ33 16GB USB 2.0 Low-Profile Flash Drive- SDCZ33-016G-B35
Just What I was Looking For
December 31, 2014
I have a work laptop and after the IT guy complained about how big my profile backup was, I knew I needed a way to keep my personal files off of the HD of my work laptop. I take my laptop to work every morning and home every night so a thumbdrive stays in the line of fire during normal usage. I tried using a normal "stick" thumbdrive but eventually it got bumped and bent. I knew that I needed a low-profile flash drive ASAP. I spent a little more money on the SanDisk versus the cheaper low profile memory. When I got it I was impressed by the size, it was a smaller profile than either of the wireless mouse usb transmitters I use (one for work and one for home). After eight months of having it continually plugging into my laptop, I have been very pleased with how it works as memory and how it is not damaged by normal handling.
Almost too low-profile, fit perfectly everywhere.

I bought this particular USB flash drive for a car stereo. The low profile of this drive is perfect for USB equipped car stereos, and my removable face plate will fit in its protective cover with this drive still plugged in. Not having to unplug the drive every single time you remove the face plate is a huge plus. From the product photo, you might (as I did) think that there is a small LED mounted in the top of the drive as a Read / Write indicator (and there is one, however it is recessed into the unit and invisible unless active), but that is actually a tiny metal loop. The loop is there so you can thread the loop with string so you have more of a purchase on the drive when unplugging. Otherwise, the drive is so low profile, you may not be able to easily grasp it. Also you may want to thread that loop just so you don't lose the drive! If you've ever used a Bluetooth equipped wireless mouse on your laptop, this drive is pretty much the same size as the USB Bluetooth receiver you'd plug into the computer. For reference, 32GB = Approximately 167 CDs worth of MP3 music at 320 kbps, or 222 hours of music at 320 kbps. Approximately 417 CDs worth of MP3 music at 128 kbps, or 556 hours of music at 128 kbps.

I use this as a backup drive for all my important documents, photos, etc. I never save anything to the main hard drive but utilize this small drive as a convenient way to store files. The reason I use backups are due to an unpredictably event among hard drives called "hard drive failure" rates. Never save anything to a main drive and always BACKUP. I am a 20 year veteran of tech so I know how important backups are. Around 92% of drives survive the first 18 months and this is due to all the moving and gyrating that they do in their course of their lifetime. And then one day they just might stop so again backups are important. This USB fits in a USB slot on the back of my main computer and I just rename it in Windows file manager as BACKUP or whatever may be relevant to the files that I am backing up (i.e. PHOTOS, MUSIC, etc.). Then just utilize drag and drop or save files directly to it. Piece of cake .SanDisk only offers a 2 year warranty in the USA but will offer 5 years in other regions which doesn't make sense to me.Still it does its job and works as advertised.

Very easy to upload photos
June 6, 2017
Got this as a gift for my mom for Mother's Day and she loves it. Her second one and she said she prefers this one as it doesn't get hot after being on all day and night. Very easy to upload photos, just put them on an SD card and inserted it into the picture frame. One thing I did notice is some of the photos were sideways on the frame and I have no idea why. I tried rotating photos, deleting and adding again and nothing worked. That is rather annoying.

I got this for my son's grandma so she can have pictures of her grandson from when he was little to now since he is graduating high school and about to enter the Army. The basic instructions on how to put the pictures on and the modes is pretty simple. The only problem I found is that there is no way to change a picture around so it is not side ways or upside down. Changing on the memory card doesn't fix it. Other than that it is a nice digital picture frame.Aluratek ADPF07SF 7-Inch Hi-Resolution Digital Photo Frame
Nice BIG frame.
May 29, 2015
This is a nice frame - love the size. The resolution isn't quite as wonderful as I was hoping it would be. But it's a very nice frame. I particularly enjoy the built in memory, no need to use a memory card. Just plug into the computer and load the photos onto it directly from the computer. I'd like to delete a couple but so far haven't figured out how to do that - I think if I plug it back into the computer I can probably do it that way. I'd buy it again.PS - don't buy it from Walmart. I ordered it from them originally, and they sent a power surge protector instead....Twice! (it was quite a lengthy process-still not sure we're done with it, cause they sent an email saying they didn't get it back) I gave up and ordered it from Amazon.
Easily load photos and videos
March 24, 2015
PROS: Easily load photos and videos. Sets on a counter or hand on the wallCONS: the speaker does not allow for much volume. You cannot blend videos and photos in one viewing, the have to be viewed separately
Great for the Price
May 10, 2012
This is a great digital frame for the price. This image is vibrant and clear but you must have external storage; an SD card or a FlashDrive. I do wish that this product had internal storage. That would be wonderful. The frame must also be plugged in to be powered on. I'd much rather have bought a frame that was battery powered. This was a gift for my mother on Mother's Day. I know she will love it but I know it could have been better. The controls are very easy to manage and the directions are very simple to understand. Anyone could read and set this digital frame up. I did pay for one day shipping and it came very quickly. The frame was packaged very well. Everything was perfect.Pros:Crisp image.Cons:No internal storage. Not battery powered.
Solid digital frame for the money
January 3, 2012
Bought this as a present for my grandparents and have been happy with it overall. After inserting a memory device, it only requires a button press or two to begin a slideshow. I could not find specifications for USB drive requirements as far as formatting or size but it seems to be a little hit and miss. I have 2 8gb sandisk cruzers and neither of them worked for viewing pictures but I tried a verbatim store 'n' go and it worked fine. However, I didn't have any trouble with SD cards. The interface is nothing to write home about but it works fine. It will display an analog clock and calendar instead of pictures if you want. The display quality is good and I have no complaints there. The entire frame is plastic but doesn't seem too flimsy. Not like you'll be throwing it around. I didn't expect more for this budget digital frame and was pleased.

Great for the price, just a little fragile
January 10, 2017
These are one of the best on the market for this price point. Just be very wary, they do have bad pixels and are fragile. We received one with a bad pixel, returned it and the second had a screen that was slid out of place and broken from shipping but that replacement was perfect. Has the best screen quality and great options.
Nice basic digital frame
January 19, 2016
Nice basic digital frame, I got a micro sd with an SD attachment so that we can add pictures at any time. I did not realize that it did not have a rechargeable battery but that is completely my fault for not researching enough. It is nice quality I just wish that you could set it to randomly display the pictures, I put about a thousand photos on it for my wife to have on her desk at work but every morning when she turns it on it starts back at the beginning.
not bad
December 15, 2015
Ok, so I flipped. Turns out, whatever code or data attached to photos downloaded from web albums causes an issue in which a red question mark appears instead of the photo. Went to the web site, and there's a tip that solves this: on a PC, open the wonky photos in Microsoft Paint and "save as" a JPEG. You may have already saved it as a JPEG when you first loaded the photo to the folder, but do it again through this program and you're gucci.Only downside at this point is that you can't randomize the photos.PREVIOUS REVIEW: Pretty simple interface, but it doesn't read all of the photos. I downloaded some straight from my PC to the internal hard drive and half of the photos had a red "?" So, I loaded the photos onto a SD card and plugged that in. Strangley enough, many of the photos had red "?" and didn't show up, though the file name showed up. However, there were different photos that didn't show up when using the memory card. The web site says all of the photos have to be sized similarly (they're all relatively small files), so this doesn't make sense. Also, if you leave the thing idle for a minute, it automatically starts playing any videos you have saved on there. What a waste of money.
A Very Well-Designed Photo Frame
May 26, 2014
I bought this Aluratek ADMPF108F photo frame for use at work. This is the second photo frame I have owned so my review will compare it to my previous one. When researching photo frames I wanted to find one with the following features:* 4:3 aspect ratio to match the format of a typical digital camera* An auto power on/power off function* Medium size (8" or larger)* Reasonable costPros:1) The 4:3 aspect ratio was important to me. My previous frame had a wide-screen format. Unless you cropped your photos first, my old frame would stretch them to fit. This was unacceptable. This Aluratek frame fits your typical photo size perfectly. No pre-scaling is necessary.2) I like the auto power on and power off function of the Aluratek frame. I don't want this frame showing photos at night. Using its configuration I have it auto power on in the morning and have it auto shut off around 5:00PM. I have heard of some frames with this feature that only power on into a menu mode which kind of misses the whole point of auto powering on. This frame powers up right into picture display mode.3) The resolution of this frame is adequate. The display is clean and sharp.Cons:1) I like the ability of a frame to randomly cycle through my images. Most frames have a default cycle time of around 5-10 seconds which I find too distracting in a work environment. My preference would be for the frame to switch photos every one or even five minutes. Unfortunately, the cycle time settings of this frame only go up to 15 seconds which is still way too quick for my liking. I'm removing one star for this.
Very good, easy to use and setup.

This product was chosen to display videos and slide shows at festivals. For that purpose it works very well. it is easy to set up and large enough to attract attention without taking up too much space on the table. It also fits nicely on a shelf at home for slide shows of family photos. Most other photo frames in the same price range will not play videos or only play strange formats. I recently tried another brand that I could not get to play videos although it was advertised as doing so. I also had an older photo frame that worked fine until being broken. This was a replacement.
Good product for the price
March 22, 2013
The quality of the photos was nice, but the directions are sadly lacking- if you are not familiar with your computer and digital photos, it might be a challenge. I had a struggle after uploading tif files to the unit, because no where in the directions could I find any indication that I couldn't! But, after about 2 days of adding and removing files, I got it to do what I wanted, and then was happy. Did not upload any music files, so can not comment on that function.

Really good and small form factor USB drive
June 24, 2017
I purchased this drive for a family member to plug into a USB Hub connected to their smart TV ... .I have to say that not only does it work well out of the box ... the speeds (using the "eye test") SEEM faster than the other drive they have when i put stuff on the drive and move it around. The other drive I refer to is https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007KFAG8Y/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_3 ... for some reason that one seems laggy when moving data to or from it ... this one from the short time I messed with it seems more like any other USB drive I have had ... aka no lag
A good amount of storage for a good price... just don't lose it!
November 27, 2016
I just uploaded around 24 gb of files onto it. It does lag a bit when uploading a gb worth of files onto it. There is a waiting time! But when uploading files mbs at a time - maybe word documents and smaller media files there's hardly any downtime. But when uploading any videos, files with lots of high res images, or large presentations expect to wait ...maybe make a some hot chocolate or a cup of tea!One feature I like is how you can password protect your files. So when the Cruzer Fit gets lost no one can access the files on it unless they know the password. But why would the Cruzer Fit get lost? well... One thing I didn't realize was how tiny this thing is! It's like a thumb nail! It's a thumbnail drive! There is a tiny metal ring attached to the Cruzer Fit that you can loop sewing thread into. But anything thicker like a metal keyring won't fit. I doubt a smartphone charm would fit but I haven't tried it. I did try to make a keyring using sewing thread but when I pulled on it the thread broke off - I think the tiny metal ring on the Cruzer Fit cut the thread when I pulled it :-/Also, the plastic cover doesn't feel like it will stay on if it gets bumped around by some keys so it may not be a good idea to attach it to a set of keys.Despite the tiny size of the Cruzer Fit, I like how it has a lot of storage for the price. Just don't lose it! I give the SanDisk Cruzer Fit 4 stars out of 5.1 star was taken off due to the lag of uploading a gb worth of files onto the Cruzer Fit. I made and drank hot chocolate during this wait time!
A few issues. Nice choice for users wanting a low profile.

A few small quibbles. The metal ring on the drive is tiny and looks rather flimsy so if attaching it to say a lanyard I would worry it would break off and be lost. The drive itself is tiny so it or the cover could be easily lost. I plan to attach a lightweight cell phone charm to it to help me locate this tiny drive. The low profile and size also make it a bit difficult to get the cover off at first until I got used to it. One last thing, I am not sure if this is because of the drive or not. I took some pictures on the drive to a local photo printer. For some reason their equipment could not read the drive. I don't know if this is because of the drive or their equipment/readers. The pros is it's small and lightweight and the low profile makes it a great choice for tablet users and if it lives up to SanDisk quality it should perform well for a long time.
Good solid device!

This does almost everything you'd want in a flash drive. It runs without a driver, without installing crapware, and as far as I can tell there are no hidden partitions or read-only areas housing proprietary crap. The security software is in the root of the device and deletes easily with the first use. The light is bright enough to be visible without being distracting. The profile when plugged in leaves just enough room to get a hold on it to remove without sticking out too much. It's nice to see something that just works and is friendly to the user rather than OEM partners who want to rent your eyeballs. My only complaint is the lanyard hook. it looks flimsy, and more importantly the hole works for a nylon lanyard, and not even all of those. It's a VERY small hole. If you want a keyring, you're out of luck. For a device that small, a dependable keyring option is very, very important. Add that, and this device would get five stars and be absolutely perfect.
Cost effective but risky by nature.

This handy little flash drive has a lot of memory for its size. It is small and inexpensive but has a few quirks both expected and unforeseen.Be sure to purchase this product with a string of some type, that you can thread through its loop (at the end). The string may have trouble fitting through because the loop is very small and it has an odd angle against the body of the drive. The drive is difficult to remove without a string to do so by however; this drive is probably best left in a U.S.B. port of your computer. The product's size is wonderful because you may leave it in your computer without worrying whether it might be damaged from something hitting it, while it is plugged in. The size is also of course, a problem unless you are very organized and careful with your things (be careful not to lose this drive).Courtesy of San-Disk, this drive comes loaded with password protection and encryption software. The password uses a high order of character encryption and the software functions well on windows. If you are using a Mac, you will have to download the software, to gain access thereto. The things which are loaded on the drive may tell you how to do that. The drive cap fits the housing (body) well but can not be attached to the other end of the body. Because this drive is most practically left in your computer, the cap is likely to be lost. I have found no easy or convenient remedy to that problem, so you simply must live with the issue. The drive of course holds the full 32 gigabyte memory capacity as a maximum. To store things on this drive, you do not have to use (or even keep) the software that it came with and do not need to create a password to protect the stored items, I have not clocked the read and write speed but it is not very fast. This is most likely because of the design compromises required to fit 32 gigabytes of memory into a flash drive that is less than an inch long. The read and write speed is even slower if you use the encryption software that the drive came with. This drive is ideal for backing up moderate quantities of data but not for quick transfer of data form one computer to another,
Good for "low profile" use

Note that these USB drives are designed for notebooks, tablets, and car audio. They are supposed to be plugged in and seldom pulled out, or pulled out fairly rarely. They are harder to insert and pull out than the bigger size USB drives, so it may not be good for daily use of carrying it around. The couple of times I pulled it out, it fell to the ground and was a bit hard to find, because it is so small and difficult to get a hold of. If you need to insert and pull it from the USB slot often, a fishing string can be added to the side of the USB drive (there is a small hole to insert the string and tie a knot). There is a small orange indicator light and I kind of like it. When it is writing or reading, the light will blink attractively.A simple speed test of copying and reading a 1GB file was done on Windows 7:Write: 4.10 MB/sRead: 16.5 MB/s

You get what you pay for. This was the cheapest of all the digital frames and ultimately why I bought it because I was getting two to send as gifts. It was not easy to format pictures to work with the frame and took a lot of work. Also, sometimes would show loading picture in between photos and skip the photo loading, even if it had displayed the photo before without issue.
Good enough for the price.
May 30, 2017
Not terrible for the price. Frame is made of plastic and screen resolution is low. My main issues are it does not radomize the pictures or allow you to set it to randomize. You can only randomize the transition effects. I wish the wall adapter was longer. I had to reduce the quality of some of my photos for them to fit (I think max is 4k in either width or length). Menu is clunky but okay, but... it is just a digital photo frame. It does autorun either the sd card or usb stick when inserted. So overall...not durable or high quality, but it displays pictures good enough for me. Now let's see how lomg it lasts.
It's cheap so... it's cheap

This is a good digital frame for the price which is hard to beat. Of course with a low price there are always downsides. Out of two frames, one arrived with the screen cracked and since there was no damage to the box I assume it was packed that way. Apparently Aluratek has no quality control. I was able to get a full refund. The display quality isn't great and it's super weird that pictures over a certain resolution won't display at all. It took me two days of messing with it and googling to figure that out. Thankfully there are bulk photo resizers online. I definitely would recommend using a sd card over a usb because the usb would stick out the side. I also don't like that there's only set timings to display photos for. It would be nice to be able to manually choose how many seconds to see each picture for.
Works well for the price you pay.

Bought this as a gift for a friend. As a very basic digital frame, it works well. It has a reasonably clear photo display, though only from a limited amount of angles. The size is good. The frame isn't designed to be hung, so it is a great size and at a good angle to sit on a desk or mantle.I like that you can either use an SD card or a flash drive.I don't like that the controls are awkward to use (located only on the back), and that it starts the play from the beginning of the slideshow each time you power it on.I do like that it automatically plays without requiring you to adjust the settings (great for less tech-saavy users).Bottom line: it's worth the deal you get and I would definitely purchase again (for myself or for a gift).
That is pretty lame. But again
October 12, 2014
It was cheap, so I didn't expect much. It is on Random but doesn't randomize the photos, and everytime we turn it back on, it starts at the same place, no new order or sorting. If the picture is not already saved as rotated the screen will not automatically rotate the picture. That is pretty lame. But again. It was cheap. I will be looking forward to buying a new one in the future.
Good clear photos, nice unit fairly inexpensive
June 28, 2014
Note: I've only displayed photos via camera media card, I have not tried storing photos in the unitPros: Pictures show up very clearly, easy to show photos via camera media card (insert before plugging in power, then plug in power, slideshow starts), shows landscape and portrait photos in the correct orientation, it's a nice sleek-looking unitCons: Can't get it to vary the order the photos are shown in -- with random/shuffle it's still always the same sequence and not in any meaningful order, the fastest speed is 5 seconds -- I would have preferred a 3-second option, too, for faster slideshows, power cord is not very longI purchased 6 of these at one time as gifts, 5 of them worked fine but one did not work at all. I purchased through Best Buy online and they were great about sending out a replacement right away. For an inexpensive gift this worked out fine, if I bought another for my own use I would be willing to pay more to avoid the "Cons."

Does not support most promised to play Video formats like MP4 or MPEG which other popular players support!
September 6, 2017
It is a good product and a large size frame but I bought two and returned one because it does not play the promised video formats. Most MP4 or MPEG video formats which play in most other players like Windows Media Players, VLC, Realplayer, and Movies and TV Windows Store App, and SAMSUNG TV Media Player do not play well and either result in Screen Lock-Ups or Unsupporte File Format Errors. Pay more for smaller but other high quality frame with high quality video playing software like EMOKILI!!!
it is a pretty good digital frame for the money
August 20, 2016
Decent product, but not very user friendly to set up and I don't think it is very high quality. The first one I got was broken and it took me forever to get in touch with support or to look up issues online. Finally they sent me a new charger and it worked, but it was a huge pain! Also, a lot of the photos from my iPhone import upside down so I had to manually adjust a lot of them. It's a pain, but once you get it set up and working, it is a pretty good digital frame for the money.
As advertised. Not bad, plays music and videos too.
June 27, 2016
Just a digital picture frame. These things are good to have around at parties, funerals, etc. where you don't want to put your laptop out on display. I think I bought this for mother's day and loaded it with pictures of our son and family since he was like 6 months old at the time.
Good product for the cheap price
April 4, 2016
It's a good dig picture frame, but won't turn on everyday likes it suppose to during the date and time set. Not sure why. No big deal since I just turn it on myself at the office. Colors on it are just ok, anytime k try to adjust, I make it worse. I'm sure it can be made to be better, but I don't have the time or patience to figure it out.

October 28, 2015
This digital picture frame does what it is supposed to do, but it is a bit difficult to use. Loading pictures to the internal memory is easy enough, but many of the photos are sideways or upside-down which can be frustrating because it is difficult to fix, and nearly impossible to do on the camera. I ended up taking the advice of another reviewer and made a PowerPoint photo album, and then exported that photo album and loaded it to the camera. The picture quality is great, and the camera is a decent price as long as you are willing to go through the work of loading it.

April 19, 2015
Picture quality is very good and it is easy to load the internal memory with hundreds of jpeg photos. Unfortunately there is no random viewing program, so all photos must be viewed in the order they appear in a file. Also, if you want the program to restart where you left when you turned the frame off, you must hit the menu button on back of the frame to bring up the thumbnail view. Then you turn it off. If you do this, it will restart on the last image viewed rather than start where you originally started first. If you do not take this step you are likely to view the same photos over and over, if you turn it off often.

Too small
September 9, 2017
Smaller isn't always better. At first I got sold on how tiny it is however its small size makes it hard to remove from USB connections on a laptop. It has a tiny bit of plastic sticking out and unless you have a 5 year olds fingers it's very hard to hold it and pull it out. Definitely learned my lesson and would go for a regular size stick next time. I foresee I'm going to lose it pretty soon anyway.

Burned out actually not literally but after it ceases to function it was hot. Not fit for car USB music storage but it'll give you a few years of it working. When you start your car it indexes your music to your library and benchmarking this it seems to strain your on/off storage. Always back up your music on another device. I just purchased the new model of the same product and hoped it lasts even longer. The low profile size is perfect and fast transfers nonetheless.

The good:-Good way to add extra storage in a tablet since its so tiny and unobtrusive. Im using it right now just as a storage device for whenever i need it and have it attached to my keys. The bad:-The hole that is in the usb part is too small to attach to keyrings so i have to improvise. My worry right now is that one day i look at my keys and its gone.-The cap doesnt attach securely. I lost the cap on day 1 after i attached to my keys. Never seen again.
Great size, horribly slow!
July 12, 2016
Good usb! I liked the size because I can leave it attached to my pc without causing any trouble due to space! The major flaw is that is EXTREMELY SLOW! Painfully slow to transfer anything other than one MS word/excel file or any other tiny sized file!I had to change to usb 3 in a matter of days because of it! So it ended up being useless! But if you don't need speed only a good small usb, this is perfect! :)

This device is absolutely great for 'permanent' low profile use.But for portable use, it's and absolute pain to take out!!!!It has a clip on the end for attaching a strap or something to aid inremoving, but it's not included with the package. Now I have to try tofind something that will fit the clip in order to help in removing it.Right now I have to use a pliers - not good!I would have given it 5 stars if the package also included that strap, and I can't understand why they didn't?
Good flash drive, but terrible for taking out of devices like digital picture frames.
June 25, 2015
I love the fact that this is mini and 16GB. What I don't like about it is the little groove on the head that sticks out when have it plugged into something. The reason I say this is because the groove makes it difficult to hold onto when you try to pull it out. Because the head is so small, the plastic is so slippery, and the groove takes up all the space on one side of the head, I had to resort to using my fingernails and keys and pulling not on the sides of the head (like you would try to do) but to pull on the skinny ends PAST the head just so that you can get any sort of pull on the darn thing. Before I go any further, I want to say that for normal computers with looser USB ports this flash drive may not be a problem. However, I purchased this for the Micca M707z 7-Inch 800x480 picture frame and that was an absolute NIGHTMARE to take out (which unfortuantely I had to do a few times because this was the only flash drive I had with me at the time and I had to crop and adjust many photos and try them out multiple times which meant unplugging the flash drive many times).TLDR: This may be a good flashdrive for normal computers, but don't use this on devices that barely have any room around the USB ports. AND DON'T BUY THIS FOR THE Micca M707z 7-Inch 800x480 Digital Picture Frame.

DEAD PIXELS - BUYER BEWARE (not the best sentimental gift idea)
December 21, 2016
I would like to say it seem to have everything as advertised. but unfortunately there are dead pixels upon first use, and I get the cheapness in respects to materials, ie frame, plastic stand.. But one thing you need (bare-minimum) is a good screen for a picture frame. The picture quality is definitely high-def, but with little white dots in the screen, makes the product look crummy.
Returned it, big disappointment
February 28, 2016
I was iffy after reading the reviews on whether or not to purchase this item and I should have stuck with my gut. It was a huge disappointment. The frame was made of cheap plastic and I was unable to program it beyond the time between frames and the transition effect. And even the transition effect would not work every time no matter which effect I chose. Most of time it was just a big gray spinning circle in the middle of my image or green lines coming in from the edges. Don't know if I just got a bad unit but I still wouldn't recommend it, not worth the money. Screen quality was exactly what I paid, the inability to program it and user unfriendlyness is why I returned it.

January 25, 2016
The major problem I've been having with this frame is a weird sort of "screen saver" that pops up every few photos. It's a green screen with a circular arrow on it. It's almost like it has to take a minute to load the next photo or something. Very distracting. Then, I sometimes see that same arrow superimposed over my photos, then it will rapidly flick over 2-3 photos instead of waiting the full 30 seconds or whatever amount of time you have programmed to display.I contacted Aluratek customer service about the issue, and they were completely unhelpful. They told me to open the photos one by one in MS Paint and then save them again. What the heck is that supposed to do? Maybe that's their workaround to try to reduce the filesize or something, but they never explained. The filesize didn't seem to be the issue anyway, since some of my very high-res photos have no issues and some of the lower-res ones do have problems displaying. Also, like others have mentioned, I really wish there was an option to randomize the order of the photos.

The price was good but again, you get what you pay for. Easy to set up. Unfortunately, within 2 months The slide show would play and then after a few minutes would stop playing. I would re-set it. I checked the thumb drive in other devices and it worked on those devices. I would suggest going with a brand name. Paying a little more money is worth it.
Doesn't show all of your photos

I bought this because of the 800x600 resolution at a low price. Well, the resolution and price are indeed good. But this unit simply did not display approx 20% of my photos. The Aluratek support site infers that it might be due to size but that's not the problem at all; it barfed on SOME 100KB pics and displayed MOST 8000KB pics.. Over the years I've taken pictures with many cameras and scanners. This unit is picky about what it displays, so be aware that you may have to do quite a bit of photo processing to get your photos to work. If you are willing to do that, it's not a terrible unit though it does lack some of the nice features of the NIK units. My recommendation is to ignore the price difference and go with NIK. I have two NIKs and they perform flawlessly. You get what you pay for.
Amazon delivered :-) Aluratek didn't :-(
June 25, 2013
I purchased this for my Dad as a gift.Packaged nicely and secure, product arrived as promised. The frame material is acceptable (plastic and durable) and my photos loaded from the USB drive the first time with out issue, the resolution is poor (it is not "Hi" as listed on the website). After making a change on my laptop to the photo file on the USB and loading it back to the frame, it did not respond (as I type this I'm still waiting for it to load). I turned it off and on again still no response. Another minus is that it only has "external memory interfaces compatible with USB flash drive and SD/SDHC cards" NO internal STORAGE. The USB drive or the SD card will have to be attached at all times, which in this case the USB became very hot. I will return this product and yes the biggest hassle will be the process of returning it and getting my $$ back, it is worth it; this product DID NOT meet expectation.

I thought this was a good deal but am disappointing at the functionality. It doesn't have functions to rotate your picture within the display permanently which is essential and dissapointing to lack.
Did not like this. Cheap plastic
March 5, 2016
Did not like this. Cheap plastic. Could not get my USB drive to work. I formatted it as FAT32 and it still did not work. Tech guy on support line said it was because it was formatted on a Mac which I don't buy because formatting it that way allows you to use USB drives between Mac and PCs perfectly. I do it all the time. I returned it.

Brought two as gifts but you get what you paid for. The power adapter gets "hot", not warm but hot. The unit would restart for no reason. The speakers are low end. Would not purchase this again.
Files get corrupted, photos distorted over time, transitions buggy
April 26, 2014
The photo frame started acting out after 2-3 months of use.Photos that used to show just fine at the beginning now look distorted with pixellation and/or horizontal color bars. Some photos now do not show at all, instead a black screen shows.Photo transitions are poor and can be distorted or bug out.Over all, for the price paid, this frame is not worth it.It seems like
Not Happy with the Quality
November 1, 2013
I was not happy with the quality at all with this one. It also did not work well at all. The one I had got would power on every so often. Nothing would happen when you plugged the power in and tried to turn it on. But when you unplugged the power you would hear it click off. This was the first day right out the box. Did not like this frame for the quality. Never had a chance to really check to functionality for any good amount of time.

Good but eventually fail.

These work fine for a while. I've bought a few in different sizes. Unfortunately I've had a 16gb and an 8gb both fail. Not going to buy these anymore. They aren't terribly expensive, but having two fail makes me think that my others will eventually fail too.

Cant even Write a 5GB File to it without it Locking up on me. Tried using a ICE Pack around the Drive and Cable Port. got to about 5 Seconds left with 1.03MB left. Been 5 Seconds remaining about 5 Minutes ago. Keep wondering if this Issue is known and being worked on, or known and no one cares as long as they get their Money. Also keep wondering, how long can a Drive get so hot before it Fails and Fries itself??????
Too small (physically) to be useful for most applications
July 29, 2015
At some point small becomes too small. I bought 5 of these for my office and regret it. I assumed that they are the size of the little plug that comes with wireless mouse/keyboard combos, which would have been fine, but no. They are even smaller and are difficult to pull out of the computer as there is almost nothing to grab onto unless you have long nails (I'm a guy so no). Also the 'eye' is far too small to be useful, at least on the ones I ordered. Dental floss will barely go through, even the smallest paper clip will not. So it will be a challenge to put them on any kind of lanyard, even if they did come with one (they don't). I would not recommend these unless you are going to plug them into your computer and leave them there forever.I am going back to the Kingston Data Travelers. It does not get in the way of anything, is sturdy as hell, and won't get lost. You can put it on your keyring and forget about it- you'll never lose it.

While this drive functioned reliably, I can no longer recommend it due to its awful build quality. Specifically, see the tiny black piece at the end of the part that plugs in? Well, if you have snug USB ports (as my work Lenovo does, apparently), that little black piece has a tendency to come off when you try to remove the drive, leaving the metal piece wedged... and I mean WEDGED inside the USB port. Fortunately, there's the tiniest of metal pieces left outside, which allows you to pull this sucker out with pliers. In my opinion - having used this drive and the 3.0 variant that replaced it, for JUST A DOLLAR MORE (as I write this), you can get the USB 3.0 version of this drive, right here on Amazon.(Link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LLER2CS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 )Apparently, SanDisk learned from the build quality issues present in this USB 2.0 model and vastly improved the construction of the USB 3.0 model; I haven't had an issue with the 3.0 model yet.
Dishonest Firmware -- Claims Device is not "Removable"
January 20, 2014
After much frustration, I have determined that the Removable Media Bit (RMB) is not set in the device firmware. That means when you plug the drive in to a Windows machine, it shows up under "Fixed/Local Hard Disk Drives," instead of "Devices With Removable Media." This also means that you can't write a bootable ISO to the device. It also means that even short of creating a bootable drive, many other utilities which are designed to run portable from a flash drive do not work as intended.According to SanDisk, this is a new "feature" they began implementing in 2013 to meet Microsoft's Windows 8 Certification Requirements. Microsoft is apparently now requiring flash drives to lie and represent themselves as "Fixed/Local" instead of "Removable," in order for the drive to be Windows 8 Certified.Microsoft's interest in this deception is fairly obvious. And rather than stand up for the integrity of its products, SanDisk caved and now ships a device whose very purpose is that it is removable and portable, yet when queried by an operating system lies and says that it is not removable.
Too Small, Too Easily Lost! Waste of $$
December 17, 2013
Ok... "smaller is better" has its limits SanDisk! This item is about the size of the fingernail on my middle finger. There is almost nothing left to grab ahold of when you insert it into a USB drive. The too-small size of this USB flash drive makes it inconvenient and easily lost. But the worse part is, that there is no way to hook it to a tether or lanyard or even a piece of string in order to prevent it from being lost. The tiny little loop you see in the upper end in the product photo... I could not get a sewing needle under it to lift it up or guide a piece of string through it, let alone anything else into that loop to secure it to a keychain, lanyard, etc. This is really an expensive novelty item... not for data of any value! I have not used it since I bought it, and could not possibly recommend it to anyone else.

Don't buy this
May 17, 2017
I should have taken the bad reviews on their word. It was obviously a cheap version and not worth buying. I spent the extra $20 for a higher end 10" and am very happy with it.
Dead in 4 months.
March 10, 2017
I just wanted this for my office so I have something to show people of my family other than my computer screen. Well it worked for 4 months and has stopped reading media. so I now have the Aluratek setup screen to show people. So if your looking for a long term product look else-ware.
This is not the frame you are looking for
November 27, 2016
Whatever you do don't buy this one. I have tried many different ways to get videos to play and none of them work. I have converted all my videos to mp4, to mov, and to avi and this frame just keeps saying file not supported. The menu is horrible. You have to select from a vertical list and then without any prompting you need to know that you now must select from a horizontal list. Most of the time you will not know where you are in the menu. Also, many pictures are not showing up in the correct orientation. Some are, some aren't. You would think that it would be able to autorotate photos but that is probably asking too much from this. I am going to keep it as it is a gift for my mother in law and don't want to go through the hassle of finding a different better frame.
Aluratek Frame-not worth the hassel. Poor quality
February 16, 2014
I had this brand a few years back and it was just fine for the price, lasted about 2 years then died. I ordered this 8" and noticed as soon as I plugged it in, not good. Red streaks and highlights, obvious no quality control or checking of the frame in the on mode. So I sent it back, isn't Amazon great on exchanges and returns? Immediately got another one which is perfect. Great color and definition with a super price. I am happy now! Thank you Amazon for making this easy!Updating this review. I got the second frame, yes it worked great for about a week. It simply stopped working, yes, I tried to reboot it, nothing worked. I have sent this one back also.Save yourself some grief and do not buy this brand.
Don't buy this, spend a little bit more
October 18, 2013
I bought this because it was very reasonably priced. I've been using it for 6 weeks now, the first time I loaded it with photos everything went very smoothly. The second time, only about 5 of the 30 photos I loaded will show up. I've tried multiple formats, multiple storage devices. I even went on Aluratek's website to get help, this specific product isn't even listed on their page. I put in a ticket for support detailing my issue and never heard back.To make matters worse, I've just logged on to return it to Amazon and my return window has expired. I'm very frustrated and dissapointed. They have a slightly higher priced frame with internal memory that I've read is better but I'm going with a different company all together, they shouldn't be putting out this poor of a product.
Screen was tilted
May 26, 2013
The frame arrived and looked good at first. Then I noticed that the display are had silver trim around part of it. The "trim" was skewed a bit from the actual display area. I thought that maybe it was something "artsy" they had added, and maybe the pictures would be "plumb." No dice. The picture display was crooked, too. Conclusion: Whoever put this frame together at the factory installed the display area incorrectly. This was 4 days from Mother's Day (the loaded frame was to be a gift) so ordering something else was out of question. I had to get in the car and "go shopping," a thing I have detested since I was a child. I finally found a better frame (not just thin black metal, but wood-look, and with a bigger display area) at the sixth store (Office Depot) for about the same price.I returned the frame for a refund (Amazon was great) but I will never buy from this company again. I am disabled, so surfing through stores is very difficult. I wonder if Aluratek would refund my time, pain, and anxiety? Doubtful. How does a company's QC allow something so blatant to get in the box?

May 10, 2016
I bought 4 of these digital frames and 2 out of the 4 just stopped working one day. Nothing happened to them they just stopped working after a month of having it plugged in and setup. Of course, the 2 that stopped working out of the blue were gifts to my family members and its pretty embarrassing when my family has to ship a gift back to me from out of state. I can be pretty understanding with tech items, as nothing last forever, but to stop working for no reason after a month of using it is BAD NEWS BEARS. I purchase everything from Amazon and this is my first experience of an item(s) being insufficient after buying it. I now know not to buy this again and wouldn't recommend it to other buyers either. I will be going with a more well known Brand next time. Makes me more weary of buying other tech items from Amazon next time around. I'm also out the cost of both digital frames given I'm not able to return it or exchange it given its past 30 days. If the product isn't going to last or each frame made has a "hit or miss" lifespan than it should come with a 1-3 year warranty if it stops working. Exchange should be an option at least. I would consider this before you buy it. We loved the frames when they were working, too bad it was for just a few short months. DON'T BUY THIS ONE without warranty. SUPER DISAPPOINTED

I bought this product for my wife, and decided to pre-load it with pictures of our daughter. I'm quite proficient with electronics and as a photographer am familiar with both photo and video formats. That being said, I've had nothing but issues with this product.•On booting it often completely freezes up, sometimes on a black screen, sometimes on the first image in the internal memory.•I get an error when connecting it to my computer (win 7) and can not send images to it this way.•I cannot get any video files to play, even in the recommended formats.•The stand broke off on the first day.•I can put files in the internal memory and they will not play. If I, however, move them to a flash drive they will play.•There's no option to play the images randomly.
Dont do it!
December 17, 2015
Do not get this frame! Very cheaply made. Amazon shipped it without any supportive packaging so naturally I get it with peices rattling around inside and a broken screen. Regardless the product is cheap and regret buying it in the first place.
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!
October 20, 2014
I was excited when I selected this frame.. the specs were good, the reviews were good enough and I really loved it when it came. At first I bought two, one for my in-laws and one for my mom. After about a year, the one at my in-laws just stopped working and I decided to buy the same model because I liked the transitions, etc and thought that a fluctuation in electricity may have stopped it from working. HOWEVER, then my mother's own just stopped and the Power button on the new one stopped working within six months. Now, the pics stop and I have to pull out the power cord for it to reset. So sorry I bought three.... Looking for two replacement frames now but definitely would not be buying Aluratek.
junk
January 6, 2014
This is the first review I`ve written on Amazon. I shop here all the time. I get at least a package every week from them. I had to warn people about this item. I bought it for myself, because the family (especially my grandson who has autism) love to look at the pictures on the other two frames I have. This one is junk. Very cheap looking and feeling. The remote is so cheap, and doesn`t work. The frame works for a while then freezes up. It will work again for a while then stops again. Too much trouble to send it back. I will buy another one of a better brand.
Doesn't work
September 18, 2013
I purchased this frame as the Amazon Deal of the Day for use on a display table during my jewelry bars for Origami Owl. The first time I went to use it, I struggled to get it to recognize the SD card, but I ended up getting it to work. Decent picture. The second time, when I arrived at my 1st jewelry bar, I had to fit with it again - this time to get it to even turn on...but again I eventually got it to work. The 3rd time, what at another jewelry bar, I fought and fought with it - trying different outlets, removing and reinserting the plug, removing and retrying the SD card - and it will no longer even turn on. So I am past the return period and left with a frame that never did really work. I won't be purchasing another Aluratek brand frame when now that I am looking for a new one!

Worst Thumb-Drive Design Ever
October 29, 2017
Worst thumb drive design ever. It's so tiny and perversely shaped that it's almost impossible to get it out of your USB slot, once you manage to hold the tiny little insect of a thing with enough dexterity between your thumb and forefinger to get it into the slot. Cut my finger trying to use a needle-nose pliers to get it out of there. In addition, it's so tiny that it's hard to imagine anyone keeping it over two months without losing it. Absolutely an awful product.
Drive Size NOT Consistent
September 20, 2017
Installed FreeNAS on the first one. Bought a second one to mirror the first one, but the thumb drive is too small. I guess it's a luck of the draw but I still find it very annoying, especially because it's technically not DoA, so I can't return it.
Crashes my computers
August 18, 2016
The main reason I bought this is to have a small USB to keep on my key ring. On the first day, the metal loop that attaches to the key ring broke. That's when it all went wrong. After that point, I went ahead and inserted it in my computer for the first time. When trying to open the drive, it completely froze my computer and then crashed it until I took out the drive. I tried it in multiple other computers, same result. I'm a pretty tech savvy guy, but no matter what I do I can't get it to open. Windows won't let me reformat it. I try to open up my partitions and change it from there, but then it cashes that program too. Very upset with this thumbdrive.
No way to attach lanyard or keyring on the cruzer fit.
December 9, 2015
Unlike what someone else said, I purchased several of these drives in various sizes and only received one cap each, not two. Also, after trying several brand lanyards and key rings, the only thing I have found that fits the tiny metal ring on these drives is button thread (regular thread is too weak) and still it breaks on occasion. Very poor design for something so small, so expensive, and easily lost.Otherwise the drive works as expected.
Why making CZ33-64GB or 32GB? Neither is Useful for Large Files - Extremely Slow and Frustrating !
February 13, 2015
Here is my experience of using this 64GB USB 2.0: I tried to backup 80 video files (total about 50GB), it would take more than 25 hours! And sadly, the encrypting process was interrupted by Windows automatic update in the midnight, so I had to start over again (with Windows auto-update OFF).It should also be noted that, if you transfer multiple files together, you won't see any files until the entire encrypting process completed for all files. At the time I'm writing this review (@10:45am, after restarting the process for 5 hrs), the screen shows only 3% completed with estimated time to complete: 20 hrs - let's keep fingers crossed to wait and see the final transfer results tomorrow!
Where to begin
April 8, 2014
I first bought thing thinking "Hey, $20 for 32GB is a deal" and then I started using it regularly for school work. Here's where the problems began: 1) Yes, its small and you'll lose the cap in minutes. 2) The transfer rates on this drive (yes, i know its usb 2.0) are extremely slow. It's slower than my other USB 2.0 drives from years ago. 3) The metal string attachment loop broke off in days just by having it in my pocket at work/school. It's very flimsy.Overall, this is a piece of garbage. Yes, its inexpensive for the size, but not worth the trouble. I'm very surprised by SanDisk. Normally, they push out very high quality stuff, but this one is not.
