Snow shovels do more than shovel snow!
August 29, 2015
LOVE THIS THING. I live in Florida. Yes, we don't get snow. Still, I can't imagine why the big box stores locally wouldn't stock at least a FEW snow shovels. I'm originally from Ohio and dang it, I know snow shovels can do a heck of a lot more than shovel snow. In my case, I'm using it as a giant dust pan to help with grass and other leaves that I blow into a pile and then need to transfer into a trash can. This thing is sturdy and well made, for sure. Sure, I could use a small dust pan from Walmart or Home Depot and take 10 trips to get it all into the trash can, or I can use this thing and do it in 2 trips. Sold. Will buy another if this one breaks.
Fantastic snow shovel
December 8, 2014
It's hard to become enthusiastic about shoveling snow, but this Union Tools ALUMINUM snow shovel has changed that. What a great shovel: lightweight, sturdy and has the nice, sharp blade at the bottom. I've had my fill of plastic snow shovels that break or that won't slice through any snow that isn't freshly fallen. The only drawback which I didn't know is that one should not store the aluminum shovel outside. Seems the cold weather allows the snow to stick to the aluminum. That's certainly not this shovel's fault. All in all, this shovel is first-rate quality and - in my opinion - far surpasses any plastic shovel.
Great Shovels for Winter
February 25, 2014
Know how hard it is to find anything but PLASTIC Snow Shovels?Well, these are METAL, affordable, and I've been able to blast into that hard-packed snow, sometimes Ice, without any of these (I ordered Three) bending in the least. And, they are light-weight, which means a lot to me, because if you're already making your heart lift 40 pounds of snow, why would you want to add the weight of a heavy snow shovel.I have bought True Temper snow shovels before, which was what attracted me to these. Great Product.
The best
January 6, 2014
I live in the Mid West, grew up here, and have been shoveling snow my entire life. I'm not so young anymore, so bulldogging the snow is not something I enjoy. This shovel lives up to its rep. I honestly think it's the best shovel I have ever owned. It's really light, but it digs in, gets right down to the pavement, strips the compressed snow tire tracks like stickers off a piece of fruit. I was using it and already worrying that if they ever stopped making it, I would be upset, so I am seriously going to buy a couple more and just stash them in the garage, for future use, because this will wear out eventually. I think I will make it through about another 20 or 25 winters, I don't want to be without this shovel. There you go.
This shovel has lasted for me
January 19, 2011
My husband bought one of these years ago. Plenty of storms later the steel wear strip has worn all the way back up until the center two rivets wore away and the strip is now loose. Not bad - actually wore it out. It's light and the coating releases most snow well. Sometimes if the snow is real sticky periodically spraying the blade with silicone spray helps. Looking for a store that carries these now to get a replacement.Update 12/12: I bought a new one of these and the coating has changed from the old one. It's just painted now. The old coating had some texture to it & some kind of slipperiness, almost like teflon.
Great shovel for a great price
January 7, 2010
The shovel is extremely well built and I'm sure that it will last for many years. It moves snow very easily and cuts through thick ice with the metal blade. Being able to push the snow around is much better for me than a normal shovel. I hurt my back just before this winter and there is no way I would be able to clear my driveway with a scoop style shovel. Don't waste your money on a plastic shovel if you live in an area with lots of snow and ice!

The brush is good quality and the bristles don't fall out
March 16, 2017
Works very well. Has just the right amount of reach for getting to the middle of the windshield. The brush is good quality and the bristles don't fall out. I had one from years ago and like it so much I sought out this one and ordered it for my wife's car.I also used it as a weapon to fend off a bear attack during a snow blizzard. This product is so tough that I used the brush part to fight the bear.
Does a great job, padded grip area makes it easy to hold/grip with gloves on.
January 26, 2017
So far, so good.We live in California, so do not have a daily need for this. I purchased this for use on our fairly frequent visits to Lake Tahoe. We have a bagful of those short 10" scrapers that companies give out as promos. We've also owned a flimsy version of a long brush/scraper like this one for years. Last month, Lake Tahoe finally broke through the drought and got dumped on. Our flimsy, wood handled brush/scraper couldn't handle it and snapped in two.Since then, the snow in Tahoe has continued and we've made 4 more trips there. This brush/scraper has already paid for itself and is such an upgrade from our old one.The thickness of the padded grip area is especially nice because it's comfortable and easy to hold when wearing gloves. Can't speak to durability or longevity, but so far am nothing but pleased.
We have one of these in each of our cars ...
December 10, 2016
We have one of these in each of our cars. With winter upon us, you are going to want one of these at hand at all times. If you are running late to work or have an emergency, these will save your day by clearing up your mirrors and giving you full sight of the road ahead. These are very well made, and have a soft grip on them.
Get this one.
December 6, 2016
As a native Minnesotan, a good snow brush is mandatory. This one is sturdy, has a nice foam grip that doesn't easily slide even with gloves on, and both the brush and ice scraper are high quality. I keep this in my trunk at all times and I have no complaints whatsoever about it.
Great quality
July 26, 2016
OMG this was impossible to find in the stores! My daughter got her car in April and the stores are only planning for summer so I couldn't find one anywhere and we still have snow potential so I looked on Amazon. Found this little gem and the price was awesome as always!!! I love that it's long enjoy to reach across her window without getting snow all over your hand. I also love that it's a really thick and good quality to handle heavy wet spring snow!
and am happy to say this little trooper is still holding up ...
February 22, 2016
I live in North Carolina, so to gauge how much snow / ice this was used in - not much, about an inch or two of each, in fact I didn't really even expect to need it, but anyways:It arrived on time as expected. The weather did actually manage to produce a need for it this year, and I must say it held up well. I scraped all 4 windows, the front and rear windshield 4 times this year, and am happy to say this little trooper is still holding up well.I do agree with what you're probably thinking in that you'd probably hope for more than 4 uses out of a thing that gets 5 stars. But, as I have no complains from it yet, and it seems good ole Punxy Phil was right - the weather is warming - it looks like it's going to be another year before this thing gets used again. If something comes up that would require I change the rating, I'll be sure to do so, but I don't really expect that to be the case, and certainly not any time before December.

Just a big traditional snow shovel, in aluminum
February 10, 2016
This is your big traditional snow shovel. One point off for not having a heavy-duty lip, it's aluminum and will wear away if you're chipping at ice with it. But if you want something to carry in your big SUV other than one of those tiny little snow shovels that might as well be a teaspoon if you really need a snow shovel, this one quite well, and is much lighter than a steel one would be. Which is good, because snow certainly isn't light!
Very Light and Cuts Through Snow Well
January 25, 2016
Purchased this shovel for the "Snowzilla 2016" storm. Here's the lowdown:1) It's extremely light due to being made of aluminum. Makes it easier on the back in terms of being able to lift and throw snow.2) It really cuts through the snow - the blade effortless went even through packed snow left by the plow (though we didn't have much ice in this storm)3) Seems reasonably good quality - much better than anything I've seen in Washington DC stores (which tend to have the crappy plastic)4) However, there's nothing on the sides to hold that snow in - so once you pick up snow, it's almost always unbalanced and the snowwants to fall off to the side. This is the main downside - I ended up having to pick up the snow in layers and throw it quickly almost in one motion.
exactly as pictured
January 19, 2015
I havent had a chance yet to actually use this shovel yet, but I will say that I know it will hold up better than the plastic shovels that seem to be all you can get anywhere these days... Just to be clear, so others aren't misled by other reviews, this is exactly as pictured, and is not painted as some reviews state, and there is no "blade" rivited on the end of the main shovel. It is just a standard aluminium snow shovel with a wooden shaft and plastic handle.
Good shovel but not what I expected.
November 21, 2014
Haven't had a chance to use this yet as no snow here yet. Bought to replace an old plastic one that finally wore out after 8 years, actually was worn out a few years ago, but I only use it to shovel where I can't get with the snow blower. Am a bit disappointed in this however as based on the reviews I read it appears that at one time this shovel did have a metal reinforcement strip on the leading edge which it now does not and the shovel came with the edges bent already from shipping. I may add a thin strip myself to remedy this. We don't get much powder type snow in Northern Virginia as ours tends to be wet and I can see the edges bending due to the weight of the snow. This is a nice shovel but most definitely not the same quality as one that I had in Jersey in the 60's but then again nothing really is made as well as back then.
Sturdy & Light Weight - Cuts right Down to the Pavement, but gets caught up on uneven surfaces.....
February 5, 2014
Well made, sturdy and light-weight shovel. Cuts right Down to the Pavement, but gets caught up on uneven surfaces. Works great for pored concrete steps and sidewalks, not so great for asphalt driveways or other uneven/broken surfaces. Very slick blade, snow slides right off, sometimes too much so that you may loose some mid-throw. Just waiting to see how long this one will last as opposed to it's plastic counterparts which usually only make it 1-2 years before they are worn or break completely.
A sturdy, lightweight shovel!
February 10, 2013
Made my way through a foot of snow and ice yesterday with this shovel. First, it's lightweight. That makes a world of difference when you're shoveling your driveway, walkway, porch, and steps. 18" serves its purpose, but you won't be getting a large scoop of a shovel with this one. For me, that's a good thing because it ensures my shovelfuls are reasonable and my back usually thanks me for it in the morning. Second, it's sturdy. I bang it up between chopping ice and scraping concrete steps. It does bend a bit when you work it over, but it can easily be hammered back into place if you feel the need. Has not affected the performance of the shovel for me. Metal blade ensures you get down to the pavement and helps chip away at ice. I'm 5'11" and have no complaints about the height of the shovel. Plan to get a second one before the next big snowfall. Included several images to provide a visual.

March 13, 2017
Worked great. I didn't have the issue of the bristles falling out like other reviewers stated. My only complaint was that the scraper end was on the same end as the handle. Which basically had me grabbing the brush end to scrape the center of my windshield.
Removes snow well
December 30, 2016
Brush works great at removing snow (brush side) and scraping ice (smaller scraper). Handle is comfortable to hold.Only problem I ran into this as my scraper chipped and broke after I hit the corner of it. Probably user induced, but something to be aware of as these things can break off so just be careful when using.

May 4, 2016
I bought this brush for my car. It has long handle, so I can easily reach almost all part of the vehicle (sidewise) without having to do a lot of stretching. The brush end and hard end give you choice to whether you want to clear the dust or remove something stuck in your vehicle. Once my car was covered extensively by bird poop (when I parked my vehicle under a bridge), at that time this brush came very handy. I know people don't buy this brush for that reason, but I can confirm it will definitely serve that purpose as well. I took off one star because the seller does not let you choose the color. I did not like the red color, and he send me that color. I wish there is a way for us to select the color. Other than that, definitely worth to buy it.
ice Scraper gets the job done!
February 1, 2016
I like this brush/scraper. The plastic scraper breaks apart the ice and the brush has stiff bristles to brush away snow. It's a small unit though, and next time I will probably get a longer one since there isn't much handle space between the scraper and brush. Overall, I would buy another one of these again, especially to have as a spare.
Scraper is curved oddly but is durable and realiable.
January 6, 2016
The thing that matters with a scraper like this is the durability - this thing seems VERY durable. The bristles are stiff enough to brush away snow and ice yet gentle enough to not damage my car. The handle is comfortable and it's shaped perfectly to get great leverage. The only problem I have is that the scraper part could be a curved a little less. It's curved in such a way that it isn't fully flat against the windshield - it's a bit annoying but doesn't prevent this from being a great tool.
So Far It's Holding Up to Our Worst Winter On Record
February 12, 2014
I bought this Mallory Snow Brush after our third snowstorm in PA this winter. Previous to this purchase, all I had was some cheap freebie scraper I got from a trade show. I really needed something to brush the snow off the roof of my car.I've already used this brush about 10 times, and expect to use it a lot more this winter. The 26" length is a decent length for my car. I have a Honda Civic, and can brush most of the snow off the roof of my car just by standing on the drivers side of my car. It wouldn't hurt if it was a little longer, but that is no fault of the brush itself; it's what I ordered. I would say that if you have an SUV or truck, definitely get a longer brush, because this probably won't cut it.The item is sturdy, and the bristles are soft. They don't appear to be scratching my car, and they remove snow pretty well. The one thing I don't like is that every now and then the scraper part will bang up against my car when I'm brushing snow off. I think the design would have made more sense f the scraper was positioned horizontally instead of vertically at the end of the brush. Some have complained that they have a hard time using the scraper, but this hasn't been the case for me. I either hold the brush part or the foam part, and scrape away. There's nothing fun about scraping ice off of your car at 7am before leaving for work, but it is a necessary evil, and this item does the trick. My snow brush came in a red color.

Aluminim bends easily. It is more of a snow shovel

Aluminim bends easily. It is more of a snow shovel, not for use with ice and snow.
Nostalgia got the best of me
March 11, 2017
I had these growing up but after 1 and a half season the edge shredded apart. Move in the modern age and construction. Good Bye old friends...

January 23, 2017
It works well to shovel fluffy snow. It started to bend on the edges by the end of a season of use, though. If you need to shovel plowed snow, you may want to look for something else. I ended up getting a similar styled replacement from a local hardware store.
Eh...
August 7, 2015
Eh...this shovel bent while shoveling some very frozen snow this past winter. The thinness of the metal is what drew to to buy it- thinking it would be able to get under icy patches well. It's just OK. Won't know if it's useable for the coming winter until we get it back out of the shed. We might have only gotten one winter out of it (I must add here that it was a fairly brutal winter in Western New York).
Don't use the top corners for leverage
February 15, 2015
Decent shovel. My wife decided to shovel the driveway but while do it she thought she was shoveling dirt and was using her feet as leverage on top of the shovel and bent the top two corners. Shovel still works but the top corners bent pretty easy. Obviously there not meant to be stepped on but I feel like they bent a little too easy.
Good construction, not the best shape
January 2, 2013
This snow shovel has good construction and feels sturdy in hand. It would be great for areas that don't get much snow, or for smaller shoveling tasks. It does have some drawbacks though for larger snow removal jobs. The shovel is a bit too short for my 5'11" size. This requires me to hunch a little more than is comfortable and after a lot of shovel I can feel it. Also the blade shape is not idea for pushing snow, it's more suited to cutting into the snow and lifting a chunk, to be deposited after carrying it a little way. If you need a smaller shovel for that purpose it would be great, if, like me, you needed a shovel for clearing a driveway, it's not the best.

hard to hold the brush when using the scraper
Okay
January 31, 2017
I used it once to break up the frost on the windshield in Texas. It was okay but not great. I did not have any de-icing fluid at the time. I was unimpressed with the ice scraper opposite the brush. I had to get out the other ice scraper because it covered more glass in less time. The brush end worked okay for removing the frost and a little snow. I will keep it in case I need it in the future. I think the item will work much better when a good quality windshield de-icer fluid is applied first. The length seems to be sufficient. The item is lightweight; easy to grasp, pickup and stowe. It's better than nothing. I imagine it would be hard to find a better snow brush/scraper than this one simply because snow and ice is for many people awkward to move.
It's sturdy..
January 9, 2017
It's sturdy .... the plastic is hard, but I like Artic model with much longer handle and softer more flexible plastic much better.
Not for short people
December 24, 2016
Don't get this if you are short, it takes a long time to clean off my car with this as a 5'1" woman. The ice scraper works great. Overall it is a perfectly fine product. But it is uncomfortable to use at my height, I decided to get an Extendable "broom" winter brush instead. I will still use this for the ice scraper. The color I received was red.
High quality, nice big size but handle spins freely.
January 4, 2016
It's great but has one major design flaw. It's very sturdy and uses materials that feel like they'll last several winters. The scraper and brush on opposing ends is nice. This provides a brush-only end that allows you to easily get in and around narrow areas like around your wipers and a scraper end that allows you to really crunch away at ice without damaging the brush. The reason for 3 stars you ask? The high-density foam handle spins freely on the post, so when you're brushing snow away the brush and post spin freely from the handle you're holding, forcing you to either choke way up on the handle or grab lower where you can hold part of the scraper, which reduces your leverage on the brush. It would be 5 stars if the foam handle was securely attached to the post.
Does its job, but bulky
March 7, 2015
The scraper and brush on this work quite well. Compared to other scrapers I've used, this is much more padded. It might make it a little easier to use with gloves on (though I've never had an issue), but it also makes it bigger and bulkier. Honestly, I'd be willing to pay less money for a non padded / smaller one.

Shovel did not stand up to Winter Storm Jonas
March 21, 2016
I ordered this shovel last minute when winter storm Jonas hit MD, since hardly any stores carry shovels in MD. Being that it was made of aluminum I assumed it would be heavy duty and durable.Unfortunately, after a few hours of use, the edge of the shovel started to bend and split, causing it to get caught on any little chunk of snow or bump in the pavement. It handled scooping snow well enough, but was terrible for scraping down to pavement. I had to use pliers several times to straighten the edge back out to something somewhat usable. After that storm, I went out and bought a durable plastic shovel with a reinforced metal edge for half the price. I would definitely recommend saving your money and going with a different shovel.
Too Small a Shovel
February 22, 2016
Always happy to get a shovel that's not plastic, and I did like how lightweight this one is.The actual shovel head is way too small. I felt like I was scooping snow with a gardening shovel -- had to repeat the same spot 3 times over before it was completely snow-less.
Good handle attached to wretched blade.
February 6, 2016
Did not survive Snowzilla. Unless you can avoid hitting pavement, this shovel is junk. It bends, dents, gouges on the lightest obstruction. This shovel gets 2 stars because it has a nice handle. Hopefully I can buy a quality blade to use with the handle, since that's all that's left.
Low quality shovel.
January 25, 2016
This is a low quality shovel. The handle isn't attached firmly to the blade, the blade is thin and flimsy. The blade also deforms very easily, making it useless for hard packed snow or ice. I would not recommend buying this.
I've had better luck w/ plastic shovels purchased for $8
March 4, 2015
We received an abundance of snow during 2014-15 in the Northeast and this shovel barely lasted a week. I expected that a metal material would have more durability versus plastic, but the leading edge bent, broke down the middle and had curling edges after moderate to little use. I've had better luck w/ plastic shovels purchased for $8.99 at the local drugstore. Buy something else.
Flimsy!
December 27, 2014
When this item arrived, the handling during shipment had already bent one of the corners of the blade. The blade is made from much flimsier, thinner metal than I expected. I have my doubts that it will be able to handle any packed snow or ice without bending on me. Feeling a bit ripped off.

Found a set of these for half the price at a retail store right after I bought them. Great product just not a great deal.
Not impressed
May 11, 2017
Basic brush. I'm giving this a poor review because it comes with two stickers that are difficult to remove without leaving residue everywhere. One sticker warns that you'll get cancer from touching this product. The foam grip spins, not sure why they couldn't make it fit better or glue it down. I'm sure I could have found a better brush locally for the same price.
I wanted tge blue one .
January 11, 2017
I specifically ordered a blue one and it shows a blue one .and I received red. It defeats the purpose of me offering it to match my daughters car.
Too small - useless to be honest.
October 29, 2016
Not really helpful even in small snow over your car - forget about the snow storm ! The whole thing is so small that it can get lost in the snow :D . I mean it - its too small and description doesnt mention it clearly. I could not even clean my car with little snoflakes. So will not recommend it.
Stupid design, decent product.
May 4, 2016
It performs both of its functions about as well as you would expect. It scrapes ice, it wipes ice away. The main downside, however, is the impossibly stupid decision of having the scraper and the brush on opposite ends. Do you enjoy smacking yourself in the face/arm with a brush while you scrape your windshield? I sure don't.
Best suited for a sub-compact car.
December 14, 2015
UPDATE 12/15/2015After a few uses now I noticed that the scraper part is warped and only about 1.5 inches of the scraper is actually making contact. Two of the 3 scrapers I bought do this. I changed my rating from a 3-Star to a 2-Star, unfortunately I bought these early to beat the snow season and they are not eligible for return. I don't recommend. See original review below:______________________This scraper/brush is solid, but here are the issues I have found with it:1 - It is short. The grip is located right by the scraper so if you have a bigger vehicle and are a smaller person, it is difficult to to reach the whole windshield while holding onto the grip.2 - The brush needs to be rotated 90 degrees. If you are right handed the brush smashes against your forearm while scraping. I find myself constantly adjusting to avoid smashing the brush.3 - The scraper part is small, it could be a little bigger to help speed up the process. It will last a while and for the price it is a sturdy scraper. Just some design issues with it.

Poor quality shovel.
February 13, 2016
Flimsy. The metal is razor-thin and bends like crazy and stays bent. Its only real use is to scrape slush off the sidewalk and the edge will get chewed to shreds doing that. I'm incredibly, profoundly disappointed.
I'm an avid reader of reviews so I was pretty certain this shovel would be a winner
May 3, 2015
I'm an avid reader of reviews so I was pretty certain this shovel would be a winner. Wrong! This is a truly useless product. I shoveled the driveway one time and the whole edge of the shovel was completely curled up on itself. Total waste of money. Do yourself a favor and buy something else. Anything else.
soft metal makes this a terrible shovel
February 8, 2015
Unfortunately, this is the worst shovel I've ever used. On the first movement, one of the sharp corners caught on my driveway and bent about an inch. From there, things just got worst. Once the corner curls, that holds the shovel further from the face of the snow, making it hard to clear a surface. I flattened out the bent corner with my shoe but it just kept bending back. After 10 minutes, both corners were curled under and the middle of the edge was crumpling. Literally, I finished my work with my kid's plastic snow shovel.
Poor quality snow shovel
January 3, 2015
This shovel is poor quality. It also arrived with bent edges; it does not have a bottom metal strip; it's almost worthless even in powdery snow. If there is any ice or crust it flexes and crumples. Look elsewhere for a better quality shovel. I disagree with all the good reviews and don't believe this shovel is what is represented in the description. I would not recommend this product. I have another True Temper snow shovel that is well made and much better quality. It is had a blue blade and a bottom strip that is riveted on.
Weak and Fragile
January 1, 2015
After 3 minor snowstorms my shovel is bent, creased and torn. The handle has held up just fine which is expected since it was pretty lightly used. The length of the shovel is ideal for pick up and moving(throwing) snow. Just like a standard D-handle shovel. But you'll be hunched over if you want to push/plow anything. The blade itself is thin and fragile. It will bend and crumple if you hit rocks, cement, frozen ground and even ice crusted over. I found I was spending part of my shoveling chores stomping on the edges to straighten out the blade. And the abraded metal wear on the edges and bottom from my driveway and sidewalk is severe. This shovel wouldn't last one heavy season. As it is I'll continue to use it for light yard work(dead leaves, grass piles) and find something stronger for next season.
Haven't tried yet, but looks durable and lightweight. Excited for winter to come! Edit: Horrible

Scratched my windshield and then fell apart. Garbage.

This was a piece of junk. The scraper scratched my windshield the first time I used it to scrape the ice off my windshield. The scraper later fell off. It was just glued onto the bottom of the rod. Would not buy again.

The scraper does not work. It was more effective to use windshield wipers.
Failed when I needed it most!

I woke up this morning to 2" of ice, sleet, and snow on my car. Brought out the ice scraper and it worked well up to the point where the ice scraper broke at the scraper to handle junction. I ended up having to use the remnants of the ice scraper in my hand to finish off scraping the windshields. This worked fine for light ice loads in the past, but this storm was too much for this to handle.
